Acts 17:1-15 New International Version (NIV) says

In Thessalonica

17 When Paul and his companions had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue. 2 As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead. "This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Messiah," he said. 4 Some of the Jews were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did a large number of God-fearing Greeks and quite a few prominent women.

5 But other Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city. They rushed to Jason's house in search of Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the crowd.[a] 6 But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some other believers before the city officials, shouting: "These men who have caused trouble all over the world have now come here, 7 and Jason has welcomed them into his house. They are all defying Caesar's decrees, saying that there is another king, one called Jesus." 8 When they heard this, the crowd and the city officials were thrown into turmoil. 9 Then they made Jason and the others post bond and let them go.

In Berea

10 As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. 12 As a result, many of them believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.

13 But when the Jews in Thessalonica learned that Paul was preaching the word of God at Berea, some of them went there too, agitating the crowds and stirring them up. 14 The believers immediately sent Paul to the coast, but Silas and Timothy stayed at Berea. 15 Those who escorted Paul brought him to Athens and then left with instructions for Silas and Timothy to join him as soon as possible.

One can make an eternal impact in the lives of others by studying the Bible, applying what you learned & teaching this to others.

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

that all Scripture is inspired by God & is useful teaching, rebuking, correcting & training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be equipped for every good work. This is why we need to study God's word, not merely for knowledge but for transformation.

STUDY GOD'S WORD

As we continue to study the Book of Acts, we follow Paul into chapter 17 where he engaged with all kinds of people that he encounters in his travels. The first place that Paul often went to in different cities was the synagogue. Here in Thessalonica, he gives an account of the Messiah, the promised deliverer of the Jews. Paul refers to the Old Testament to create a 'dialegomai'(Greek) or dialogue from the Scriptures. He explains that the Jesus Christ had to suffer & rise again, as written 


in Isaiah 53:5 New International Version (NIV) says

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.


& in Psalm 16:10-11 New International Version (NIV) says
10 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
    nor will you let your faithful[a] one see decay.
11 You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Obviously, Paul studied Scriptures & knew what it says about the promised Messiah. Paul related ancient prophesy from Scripture to the historical event of Jesus death on the cross & His resurrection. Paul proclaimed Jesus with boldness & trusted the Lord for the outcome. Indeed, Paul would preach in the synagogue & would get beaten up after, yet he would do the same thing in the next city they would go to. He was not discouraged even if he faced opposition. He knew what his calling was, to preach the good news first to the Jews & then to the Gentiles. His calling was sure & getting beaten up & opposed to his face did not stop him from continuing on his mission. When you have an impact, you will have an uproar. In the things you are doing for God, are you experiencing an "uproar"? Doing God's work  might mean facing hostility from the very people you are trying to reach out to.

APPLY GOD'S WORD 

We must also check our eagerness in approaching God's word. Do you find the Bible bland & boring? Are you excited to encounter God in His word?

Though the Bible does not promise a life without problems it is a deep source which God uses to guide you in making wise decisions as you face life's difficulties & challenges. Apply what you learn from the Bible in your life even before you attempt to share it with others!

TEACH GOD'S WORD  

The next group of people that Paul engages within Acts 17, were the Bereans who were more open to Paul's teaching compared to the Thessalonians. In matters of discernment, we must be like the Jews in Berea who not only studied the Scriptures but also used this to examine what was being preached to them. In listening to preachers, we must have an unbiased eye & be opened to the truth that a preacher teaches but always go back to Scripture & check for ourselves what we heard from the preacher against what the Bible says. Is this how we view the speakers we encounter? With an unbiased eye but a discerning spirit? We need to be careful because there are many false teachers & many more will arise. Like Paul, are you willing to take a beating for something you believe in? It is so hard to teach what you do not believe in, so make sure that you know why you believe what you believe & teach. One of the greatest hindrances to God using you to teach others about the Bible is your unwillingness to apply God's word. Have a self-check, is your Bible knowledge making you arrogant? Beware that it does not, as

Concerning Food Sacrificed to Idols

8 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that "We all possess knowledge." But knowledge puffs up while love builds up.

As one grows deeper in the knowledge of Christ & the Bible, one should be more understanding, loving & humble. Is this true for you? The Thessalonians did not accept Paul's teaching the first time & yet even with the initial resistance, a church was established in Thessalonica. Paul's commitment to teach God's word no matter the personal consequence to him, eventually bore much fruit. The Thessalonians became an example of how lives surrendered to Jesus can become a vibrant church. We too can be an example of how a surrendered life that studies, applies & teaches the Bible can be transformed because of Jesus Christ.

'But at least I have learned all the scriptures.' Xue Ying grinned.
He got the original copy of <Void Devil Insect Scripture>. Xue Ying also learned the other two Middle Stage God Emperor scriptures––<Heaven and Earth> and <Realmless>. In this Divine Realm, the crystalline of the peak wisdom and intelligence of all Dao of Void Ascendants over the long years had resulted in just one single 'late stage God Emperor' scripture and two Middle Stage God Emperor scriptures.
That late stage God Emperor scripture had never been spread outside. Hence, it was impossible for others to learn it.
And it was because the Middle Stage God Emperor scriptures had been circulating in the outside world that gave Xue Ying a chance to learn them by exchanging for it.
'Absorbing the wisdom of other experts and using them for myself.' Xue Ying sat down and began meditating.
An expert should learn from others.
Learn from the world!

Learn from other cultivators!

These three scriptures were amazing. Even the Early Stage God Emperor <Void Devil Insect Scripture> was quite astounding. After all, they were all stable cultivation techniques. The <Void Devil Insect Scripture> specialized most in flying and maneuver techniques. When flying, the cultivator would be able to swim just like a magical insect. Even though the cultivator could not penetrate through the void, the cultivator would have a speed that outstripped other Early Stage God Emperors. Even most Middle Stage God Emperors could not reach up to a cultivator that grasped this technique!
But even though this cultivation technique had astounding survival capabilities, it was slightly weaker in its combative aspects.
And the two Middle Stage God Emperor scriptures, <Heaven and Earth> and <Realmless>, were even more amazing! These two were body cultivation techniques.
The goal of <Heaven and Earth> was to refine a body into an enormous world. The fleshy body of the cultivator was akin to an endless, thick land. The bones were like mountains. The blood would be taken as a void flow. Many celestial bodies were even floating on the void flow, moving along with the stream of the void. This world was incredibly vast. It contained celestial bodies, space, and land.
It was a world perfectly fused together by many aspects of a body.
After cultivating this technique to late stage, one would be forced to reveal his powerful 'true body' during battles. Even in the Divine Realm, a cultivator would have a body 5,000 kilometers long! It was way bigger than many God Emperors in the Divine Realm. With such a huge body, the cultivator would have extraordinary strength too! Every action of his was tyrannical. Being an Ascendant, it was possible for him to deal with Middle Stage God Emperors and possibly fight on even grounds with late stage God Emperors.
As for <Realmless>, even though it was a body cultivation technique too, its essence was completely different from what <Heaven and Earth> espoused.
Heaven and Earth fused practically the entire structure of the world into the fleshy body.
And Realmless could be explained with one word––emptiness!
Every particle in the fleshy body was just like a vast space. The entire fleshy body was akin to a huge space encompassing many mini spatial pockets. With layer folding over layer, an expert who cultivated this technique would have a perfect body of spatial layers stacked on top of one another. The cultivator who grasped this technique would also have a strange way of fighting.
Despite being suppressed in the Divine Realm, this cultivator could enlarge his body, turning himself into a giant of half a million kilometers tall! And if he chose to make himself small, the cultivator could make himself as small as an ant!
When a late stage God Emperor exert his full strength on a cultivator who grasped Realmless, this cultivator could easily absorb the incoming force and dissipate them across the spatial layers! Even as this cultivator stood there and allow the enemy to attack him, he would be completely uninjured. Even the 30 strongest existences in this realm could merely injure this cultivator. Killing him was an impossible task.
In terms of survivability…
<Realmless> was beyond that of <Heaven and Earth>.
<Heaven and Earth> was comparatively more balanced in terms of survivability and direct combat–all aspects were comparable to a late stage God Emperor Native.
'The creator of this cultivation technique has spent effort and sweat on understanding these Dao paths.' Xue Ying was clear that he might be able to learn them, but what would happen after that? How could he follow the steps of the predecessor to reach where they stood currently?
'These two cultivation techniques are flawed.'
'The ambition of the creator of <Heaven and Earth> is too great. In order to turn the body into a world, it requires too much adoption of the revolving laws, making it an extricate and complex technique.' Xue Ying shook his head, 'Even though this cultivation technique is at the Middle Stage God Emperor level, I find it way too complex. There was a huge ship flying at high speed amidst the cloud.
On this ship, many protectors emitting God Monarch aura could be seen.

A muscular figure walked out of the cabin and came to the head of the ship. He wore a thick black gown. Behind him followed five other figures. These five were all emitting the aura of an Early Stage God Emperor.
"We are reaching High Mountain City soon?" This muscular old man asked.
"According to the current speed, we will reach in five days." A green-robed girl extended her senses before concluding this.
"Five more days!" The muscular old man looked afar. The edge of his lips curled upwards, "Imperial Wind High Mountain, you have only five days left to enjoy."
"Big Brother, ever since you broke through to the next level, this Imperial Wind Clan has been dispatching many caravans to other cities. Even though they publicized them as caravans, they are actually carrying large numbers of disciples from the Imperial Wind Clan! Many disciples from the Imperial Wind Clan are already scattered across the different cities! And there are way too many cities! Most of those disciples are nameless, making it hard for us to trace down all of them." A white-robed male commented.
"What can we do?"
The muscular old man said nonchalantly, "They are doing this in broad daylight. With the disciples of the Imperial Wind Clan sent to so many cities, and all of them are keeping a low profile, finding them is a huge challenge. Nonetheless, there is no point for us to trace down every last disciple."
Search for those disciples?
Usually, they had to rely on certain tracing techniques. But prior to that, they first had to find the karmic ties between the disciples! It was difficult to generate karma with those ordinary disciples from the Imperial Wind Clan, and even so, the karmic ties were so thin that tracing it down to an exact location was tough.
"In the future, we can only pay attention to this. The moment we discover any uprising sect using the name of the Imperial Wind Clan, we will just exterminate it." The muscular male said, "As long as none of them rise, there is no need for us to pay attention to those weak little disciples."
"Yes, there is no need for us to care about them."
"The Imperial Wind Clan is a small sect in the entire Divine Realm. It is a pipe dream for a God Emperor to emerge from their clan."

"It is impossible for him to escape! We can trace him down any time! He has no place to escape to."
"It is likely that he plans on relying on his terrain and territory in the High Mountain City to fight with us."
"Fight with our Devil Heart Cult? Haha, what a joke! I doubt the High Mountain City can resist against us for the time taken to brew a cup of tea."
The other five God Emperors were sneering.
Given the current strength of Devil Heart Cultist Master that had just entered the God Emperor Ranking List, it was rare for him to have only five Early Stage God Emperor subordinates. The reason was because Devil Heart Cultist Master had just broken through not too long ago. Most cultivators at his level would usually have a dozen or so God Emperor subordinates.
"Even though the strength of High Mountain City is ordinary, all of you have to remain vigilant. The other party is planning to risk his life in this battle. But peace cannot last forever, Xue Ying’s peaceful life is shattered, and the only way to reclaim it is through power!

After a quick discussion, Zero and Lan went upstairs. Zero was responsible for the sniping while Lan guarded his back. Lan also had a small submachine gun. As for Tengyi, he still hadn’t recovered from the concussion, so he had to stay in the room. Zheng, Jie and Yinkong took the elevators down.

“Found them. At the entrance to YL street. They’re withdrawing money at the ATM. Ding is holding the scriptures. Go left from where you are, you should catch up to them within 30 seconds. I will shoot after 20 seconds… Zheng, hurry, we need to take back the scriptures before the police arrive.”

“… Okay!”

The three of them ran to the left, Zheng asked Yinkong on the way. “Is there any way prevent them from telling the police our location?”

She was surprised for a bit. “Just kill them.”

“Killing takes off points. Any other way? You assassins surely have some methods right?”

“That’s simple, cut off their limbs and tongues, gouge out their eyes. If you want something even simpler, pierce a needle into their spine and they will go into a vegetative state… You need my help?”

“No! I will bear my own responsibility…”

The ATM was in sight by this time and beside it was Renjia and the other two. Renjia was withdrawing money while Ding was looking at him. Only Yanwei saw Zheng coming their way, then she smiled at them.

With a loud bang, Ding’s left leg disappeared. The huge impact totally crushed his leg. The bullet even shot into the concrete ground and blasted a hole the size of a bowl.

The gunshot shocked them for a bit then Renjia immediately turned around and grabbed Yanwei as a shield. He pointed his gun on her head. Ding was screaming on the ground.

Renjia saw Zheng running over and shouted, “Don’t come over! Otherwise I will kill her… and the scriptures, Ding! If they take another step, tear up the scriptures!”

Zheng immediately stopped. They were less than fifty meters away from Renjia now. “I don’t want to say anything else. Put down the scriptures and I will let you leave safely.”

Ding yelled as he held onto the broken leg. “Leave your ass! Do you know how scary that thing is? We may as well just kill ourselves if we don’t have the scriptures. F*ck, why do you have to chase us? Why don’t you let us take the scriptures? You’re strong, why don’t you give them to the weaker ones? Leaving them in the living room to help everyone? You veterans just want to monopolize them!”

Zheng was filled with hatred. It was the first time he saw such ugliness in people. Even though this happened frequently in books and movies but when it happened right in front of his eyes, the shock was indescribable.

‘Am I… really wrong?’

Another gunshot as Ding was talking. The arm that was holding the scriptures fell to the ground. Zheng and Yinkong sprinted at them immediately.

Yet Ding had his mind set. He knew Zero was sniping him at distance. He remembered their introduction. And without hesitation he grabbed the scriptures and threw them to the streets. Right after he threw them, his other arm was shot. The scriptures landed on the street and a car drove on top of them, crushing them into pieces then blew away by the wind.

“No!”

Zheng was totally enraged. He raised the knife and swung at Ding. Ding’s head flew off to the distance then it was crushed by a car driving by.

“Killed a team member. Deducted 1000 points.” God’s voice rang inside Zheng’s head but he didn’t pay any attention to what God said. He walked over to Renjia with a pair of red eyes.

Renjia was so scared he couldn’t even move. Yellow liquid leaked out of his trousers. When he saw Zheng looking his way, his body was trembling. “Don’t, don’t kill me, don’t kill me, don’t you lose 1000 points for killing? Don’t kill me…”

Another loud bang. Renjia’s hand was trembling also and the gun he was holding went off. It blew away half of Yanwei’s head. Everyone watched in shock as this woman fell to the ground. A few seconds later Renjia started laughing crazily.

Before Zheng could do anything, Yinkong ran up to him and with a swing of her hand, Renjia’s arm fell off, then it was the other arm and both legs. She didn’t even blink as the blood sprayed her whole body. Afterward she did everything she had told Zheng before walking back.

Zheng used the hemostasis spray on Renjia then took out the communication device. “Zero, if there are any security cameras please shoot them out. Also find a place that we can hide. We will come back after the police leave.”

“Understood. Go straight five hundred meters. There’s a manhole cover leading to the sewers. Then run right in the sewers, on top of the twelfth manhole should be a park. We will come back in the afternoon. Remember to change the bloodstained clothes.”

“Zero, thank you… I will apologize when we get back together…”

‘Was I really wrong?’

The three of them reached the park. It was past midnight and the area was totally black. They had to stand together with their backs to each other so they could each guard a side. In between them were a few charms.

‘Was I really wrong? Is the right way to use newbies as bait and not to trust them in the beginning?’

As his head was in a chaos, the communication device vibrated.

“Zero? What’s wrong?”

“It’s me…”

This voice… was Xuan!

“I’ve seen what happened and can probably guess how you’re feeling. Then do you want to talk to me?”

Zheng took a deep breath. “How do you know what happened? And where were you hiding these few days?”

“It isn’t important where you hide. The Ju-On won’t let you off because of distance. I also went to the temple you visited. Unfortunately the main gate doesn’t have its ability at night. In fact, the scriptures you were holding onto were probably a critical item to surviving this movie…”

“… Is it because you can listen through the communication device?”

“Correct. I have the main device so I can listen through all the connected devices, even if you don’t turn them on.”

Zheng looked at the device then laughed bitterly. “Are you here to laugh at me? Yes, I admit I failed. I was wrong to trust anyone as a comrade then get backstabbed by the same people… Xuan, did you predict this would happen, was that why you left this insecure team?”

“No, I just wanted to find a quiet place and look at the stars…”

On top of a roof not far away from the Sunlight Hotel. Xuan looked at the sky as he sat on the edge. He continued calmly, “There’s no absolute right or wrong. You think too much… Comrades are important but as a leader you can’t put yourself on even grounds with them. With power comes responsibility. You’re responsible for the safety of all team members. You’re still lacking on when you should give up and when you should persist…

“The only thing you did wrong was treating everyone equally… This world needs choices. The paths we take, the newbies that God chooses, or the survivors that the movies choose. You have to know who can become your comrade. It’s not the people who can’t adapt to this world. If you choose them, they will drag you along when this world eliminates them.

“Life is a long path, you will learn and grow up gradually. I am jealous of you guys… You will correct yourselves when you know it’s wrong and not have all the knowledge in the beginning. Zheng, you will grow up, and remember to put yourself in the position of a leader, not complain like a team member. It’s also important to choose your comrades. Those without talents, those that may betray, those with an ugly heart, you can’t save those people. Remember you are not a savior. You are not alive to save them. You need their strength so you can live. Don’t mess up the order…”

Zheng listened quietly to every word Xuan said. He gradually calmed down. “Why are you saying this to me? This doesn’t fit your personality, helping someone without any gain… Xuan, are you listening?”

“Yeah, I’m listening.” Xuan laughed. “It’s not totally unrelated, I owe you a favor. Remember the data I made you bring back to the real world? Thank you… Ha, it’s actually not that difficult to thank someone.”

Zheng was silent for a bit. “Do you really love…”

“Love my country? I think you’re mistaken. In actuality, once we entered this world, we no longer belong to that other world. Patriotism is rather fake here… It’s because I can finally rest, so tired…”

Xuan paused, then laughed again. “It seems like my time has come… If we can see each other again, I hope you can grow up to become a real leader. Remember nothing is absolutely right or wrong. What you want is merely living on, right? So crush all the obstacles preventing you from living!

“I’ll give you a hint. Since God can be thought of as a program, then aside from the scriptures, maybe the number seven is also a hint. Seven…”

This was the last line Zheng heard. Then he heard creepy noises through the device. (The Kakaka like noise in the movie)

“… Seven days, maybe this seven hints at the number of times you have to kill the Ju-On’s main body… It’s cut off already?”

Xuan turned around. Not far away from him was a woman in white hanging on the wall. The kakaka sounds were coming from her mouth…

"I think after this those bastards will think twice before they provoke Ling Feng."

Duanmu Qingshan stood proudly in the garret with his hands crossed behind his back. A wisp of sword Qi still lingered above his right index finger. He had just used to the magic array hidden in the sect master's jade command to shift his sword Qi to Ling Feng's side, scaring off the pavilion guard elder. 

For a long time, the jade command's ability to shift the strength of the person who'd refined it was a secret known only to the sect master of each generation. In fact, it was one of the supreme magic treasures of the Ask Immortal Sect. Duanmu Qingshan had only happened upon this profound principle after he'd built it up himself. However, its shifting ability was limited to the scope of the Ask Immortal Sect. 

But that was all he needed. As long as Ling Feng carried the jade command, it would be as if he were personally escorting him. At any sign of danger, he could immediately shift his sword Qi to Ling Feng's side. Certainly, to train him, he would only take action if Ling Feng ran into an opponent he couldn't possibly defeat.

At the entrance to the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion, Ling Feng received the sect master's jade command, looked at the pavilion guard disciples, and asked coldly, "How about now? Can I go inside and choose a secret book now?"

"P-please come in." One by one, the pavilion guard disciples trembled with fear, even the pavilion guard elder had made concessions. They dared not offend this evil star.

Ling Feng's sharp eyebrows slanted upwards and raised outwards as he strode into the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion. Now that he had the tacit consent of the pavilion guard elder, he could choose any secret book in the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion without restriction.

Once Ling Feng's form finally disappeared, the surrounding disciples collectively relaxed.

"Oh, my god! Who knew Grand Uncle-Master Duanmu was so fierce!"

"Hey, with Grand Uncle-Master Duanmu covering him, can this Ling Feng walk unhindered in the sect?"

"Hush, words cannot be spoken carelessly. I heard that Grand Uncle-Master Duanmu once did something treacherous and was imprisoned in Small Bamboo Peak. As his disciple, that Ling Feng is going to die sooner or later.

"Treacherous thing? What treacherous thing?" The former disciple asked curiously.  

"I told you, words cannot be spoken carelessly," the other disciple responded in a lowered voice, "Anyways, I heard Grand Uncle-Master Duanmu killed the previous sect master."

"The previous sect master? Wasn't that the current sect master's teacher? If that's true, then the sect master definitely won't let off Grand Uncle-Master's disciple!"

"Therefore, that Ling Feng is going to die sooner or later. Everyone with a little eyesight can see this. So we can't provoke him or have anything to do with him. Otherwise, if we get involved…tsk tsk tsk…"

"Your right, we can't have anything to do with him!"

While numerous disciples continued to wag their tongues outside the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion, Ling Feng reached the second floor. He had directly bypassed the first floor because it only had staple goods, items he was too lazy to search through. He also had more heart than energy to continue on to the third floor because it only carried cultivation methods and martial skills meant for the Pulse Condensation Realm. At the moment, only the secret books on the second floor most suited him.

Once he was on the second floor, Ling Feng realized the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion had been organized into two areas with cultivation methods placed on the left and martial skills on the right.

Ling Feng first went to the right side, to the row of brown wooden shelves that were divided into many sections. But even though there were books of all shapes and sizes, many of the shelves were already mostly empty. This was only natural since many people often borrowed from the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion at this time of the month. Therefore, in order to get a good secret book, disciples usually made appointments in advance or waited outside the pavilion for the books they wanted to be returned.

Ling Feng looked over the rows of bookshelves for quite a while. Then he moved to the left side where the martial skills were. With a general understanding of the secret books, he finally began to make his choice.

Before long, he had picked out a movement technique, a fist technique, and a body-tempering cultivation method. He looked at his selection with satisfaction.

As a rule, only true disciples had the qualifications to borrow over three or more secret books at a time. However, the pavilion guard elder had already given him free rein over the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion. So no one dared express their disaffection with him. The disciples could only honestly fill out the borrowing form for him and watch him leave with the secret books.

Not long after he left, a boy who looked seventeen or eighteen years old appeared. He carried a three feet, azure-tipped sword on his back. His stature was tall and straight as he strode into the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion.

The man's eyebrows were swordlike and his pupils such as stars. His aura was cold, fierce, and proud. As soon as he passed through the entrance, he looked at the disciples in the registration office and asked, "What's the word on the Nine-Layered Sea Suppressing Fist I reserved last month?"

"S-Senior Brother Xiao!" The pavilion guard disciples' eyelids suddenly jumped. The visitor was a famous talented disciple in the inner sect, Xiao Qingfeng!

Xiao Qingfen was only eighteen years old, but he was already at the 8th layer of the Qi Condensation Realm. He was a top, rare talent even in the inner sect and a favored disciple in the sect master's lineage. The moment he promoted to the Pulse Condensation Realm, he would become a true disciple.

These young pavilion guard disciples were unable to provoke such a character.
 
"What's the matter? I've been waiting since last month. Is it possible you are going to tell me I've just wasted my time?" Xiao Qingfeng's sword-like eyebrows stood up as he stared at the pavilion guard disciples.

"S-Senior Brother Xiao, it is not like we didn't hold it for you. But there was an accident. The fist manual, the Nine-Layered Sea Suppressing Fist, was just borrowed!"

"Who has such courage to rob the secret book I had already reserved for myself?" Anger flashed through Xiao Qingfeng's pupils, "Could it be that you didn't mention my name?"

The disciples guarding the pavilion said with a bitter face, "That person was so swollen arrogance that he didn't even pay attention to the pavilion guard elder. H-How dare we disobey him!" 

"So you chose to defy me instead?" Xiao Qingfeng slapped the counter hard and shouted angrily, "Tell me! Which ignorant fellow had the courage to steal the fist manual from my hand?"

"I-It was the disciple of Small Bamboo Peak. His name is Ling Feng," The pavilion guard disciples dared not conceal anything. They answered him truthfully.

"Small Bamboo Peak?" Xiao Qingfeng snorted coldly, "Isn't that the place that specializes in wastes and the place where its disciples flee to the outer sect after only being there for three days? What's the matter, has this year's disciple not run away?"

"This year's disciple is a hard stubble," The voice of the answering pavilion guard trembled, "He is not to be trifled with."

"Isn't to be trifled with?" Xiao Qingfeng's eyes turned cold, "Hmph, I'd like to see just how hard of a stubble he is!"

After speaking, Xiao Qingfeng flung his sleeve and walked out of the Hidden Scriptures Pavilion.

In the lobby, as explained by Loyd, our school separated into three groups with each group having a class from each grade. Coincidentally, the group that my class was in was also the group that Zaksus's and Luna's class was in. Therefore, we'll be together for the entirety of the mandatory trip and during bathing hour.

Our group boarded the buses that the school had arranged for us and then drove off into the city of Saroff. Saroff isn't a mega-city that was of the same scale as Palisia, but it was still a decent sized city with plenty of attractions in the form of the numerous cultural buildings mixed within the modern. Growing up, I was taught that Saroff housed some of the richest aspects of Vilheimean culture, but I'm not so naive as to believe everyone in Saroff lived life as if it was five hundred years ago. Therefore, I wasn't surprised at how modern everything was and how similar life for the residents here was to life in Palisia.

Looking out the bus, my eyes were greeted with a casual city scene. There were pedestrians walking with some biking on the spacious sidewalk as the automobiles rolled by on the road. There were numerous stores catering towards a large audience with its welcoming design and furnishing. In addition, there were also plenty of familiar brands such as WcBonalds and Pizza House littered about in the city. All in all, everything appeared pretty normal.

Our buses pulled into a pretty large parking lot near a historical site. From the looks of it, this place appeared to be an old temple of worship. Anyhow, everyone exited the buses and gathered as we were to split ourselves into groups so that a tour guide could show us around.

"Zaksus," Loyd called over to the tall boy in the group of first year students. "Let's go together."

Zaksus smiled and then waved at the people he was talking to before jogging over towards us. "Sure," he said.

"What about the rest of you?" Loyd then looked over at the remaining members of our club that was in the same class as him.

I couldn't help but marvel at how well he handed this leadership role. He took initiative immediately after Mura had explained how we will be doing things and quickly assembled a crowd around him. In fact, there were other students gathering around, trying their best to act casually while sneaking the occasional glances his way. They probably want to be invited into his group. Therefore, without him having to do anything, Loyd gained the initiative and put into a position of power all because of his charismatic nature. 

However, I do believe a factor that made this easier for Loyd was the presence of Noah. He too was quite charismatic and popular among the other students, especially in the girls. Similar people attract each other, so the two got along pretty well and complimented each other. Therefore, it made it seem as if whoever's in their group will be the more popular people at my school.

"Alevian," Noah smiled and looked over at me. "Come with us. Of course, Muria and Irina also."

"Sure," Irina smiled and agreed. 

Her addition to our group made the situation even worse. The atmosphere became extremely tense that I felt as if it was difficult to breathe as all the eyes were focused in our direction. Before I realized, it would appear that we're surrounded by the other students as they all stared longingly at a spot in the middle of the circle by the sides of the most popular students at our school: Loyd, Noah, and Irina. Come to think of it, I think Zaksus also belongs in that group due to his popularity as a athlete and star of the basketball team. So I'm the only oddball here...      

I could feel many hateful glares thrown my way as people probably couldn't understand why I was standing where they yearned to stand without doing anything. They probably think I do not have the right to stand here with these other popular students, and I might think that as well if I was in their position. However, I do not have much of a choice because if not here, then I wouldn't have anywhere else to be. If I recall correctly, last year I was the last one to find a group for the school trip. I didn't talk to anybody for the entirety of the mandatory trips other than the occasional chat with Muria. However, those were simply talks that involved only a word or two. There never was a full scale conversation.

Usually, I wouldn't mind being in such state of loneliness. Not now. I realized that Loyd and Noah also had invited Luna to be in our group, and it was because of this girl that I can't stand being alone anymore. Being alone with nothing occupying my mind, I will be consumed by the moodiness and melancholy that the thought of her inevitable death will bring. That idea was a cancer, starting only as a single thought in my mind but eventually multiplying until it controlled the entirety of my mind, rendering me unable to do anything else and slip into a state of weakness. It's only when there's a constant stream of outside stimulus creating new ideas in my mind that I will not succumb to this cancer of a thought.

"Emilia and I'll go with your group," Mura said to Loyd after she judged that the situation had gotten out of control and that the other students needed to form their groups quickly.

"That's great!" Irina exclaimed as she clasped her hands together before her with a happy expression on her face. "Right, Muria?"

"R-right," Muria blushed somewhat as she looked over at her sister. She must be the happiest of everyone to be able to spend time with her older sister on this trip.

"The rest of you hurry up and form groups," Mura said in a raised voice to the other students. She also made eye contact with the other teachers, notifying them to take control of the situation in order to progress the day.

My group then followed our tour guide around as she explained to us the history of the temple as well as give us a brief lecture on the scriptures. She showed us into the main temple itself, a building with large white marble pillars and a high ceiling. Inside the opened temple was a large statue situated in the center of the far wall. On each side of the large statue were two smaller ones, so four smaller statues in total.

"So this is the statue of God and his four archangels," the tour guide explained.

The statue of God was of a bearded man dressed in what appeared to be a tunic. The statue was pretty well made, with great attention to detail. Every single crease in the tunic as well as wrinkles on the face was visible. In addition, in the eyes of the statue, I could feel a sense of power.

However, I could say first hand that this depiction of God is incorrect. I've seen God myself and he looks nothing like this statue. Rather, God's appearance was one of a young man in his early twenties and was someone who's devoted to playing video games.

"So on the left side of God, there's Michael and Lucifer. To the right of God is Gabrielle and Raphael," the tour guide continued.

Lucifer... does she mean Ralus? I stared at the statue of Lucifer, taking in the face of a handsome young man. For some reason, his statue depicted a young man wearing nothing but what appeared to be a towel around his waist. As for the body, it was quite muscular, but on the leaner side. Instead, the statue next to it, Michael, was more muscular as it depicted an older man with a stern expression on his face.

Then, there's the statue of the two angel's present next to me. First, there was Gabrielle. The statue was of a feminine looking man in his late teens, dressed in a rose colored tunic. The pose of the statue was weird as well, being one that appeared somewhat unnaturally feminine and appeared extremely weird when the statue was of a young man.

Then, there was Raphael. His statue was of a young child who clung onto Gabrielle's hand. The facial expression of the statue was made to be as if the child was insecure about the world and needed the guidance and protection of the older and more mature figure beside it.

I glanced at Emilia and Noah, curious as to how they would react, and wasn't surprised when I discovered an irritated frown on Emilia's face as well as Noah trying his best to contain his laughter.

"How can they get my gender wrong?" Emilia muttered under her breath as she shook her head in disbelief. On her face was an irritated countenance, one that made me worried that she would bring with her a divine judgement and obliterate the world. However, she didn't do so. Instead, she grabbed Noah by his collar in order to contain him and take out her frustration.

"They made you a guy," Noah whispered as he gasped for breath for laughing so hard.

"Hey," Mura sighed as she looked over at Noah. "That's quite disrespectful to the divines."

"S-sorry," Noah forced out as he continued to laugh.

I mean if it was me, I would probably laugh as well. Like when someone want you to stop because you're being disrespectful to yourself... that just requires you to laugh.

"I'll take care of him," Emilia said. Her face was twitching somewhat as she forced a smile, but I could tell that she was somewhat in an angered mood. She then turned around and dragged Noah out of the temple while Noah continued to laugh as he's being literally dragged on the ground.

That tiny incident basically marked the highlight of the day. Later on, when the tour guide explained the stories in the scriptures, I could always hear sighs of disappointment from Emilia as she muttered under her breath about how they've got everything wrong in the scriptures. Noah would also giggle occasionally, but after being taught a lesson by Emilia, he reigned it in quite a bit so I guess the statues did get the part where he listened to Emilia right.

Throughout the rest of the day, we were shown one other historical site in the city before we returned to our hotel for dinner. During that time, I didn't talk much with Luna as there were constantly distractions between us. And before I realized, we were back at our hotel and finished with the dinner our school had the hotel made for us.

"Alright!" Noah said as he stood on his bed with great excitement. "Who's ready to go take a bath in the hot springs?!"

"Me!" Zaksus raised his hand.

"Why're you in our room?" I muttered.

"Let's go boys! We bout to have some fun!" Noah said. He jumped off his bed and started for the hallway outside.

The remaining three of us then followed him out. As I walked down the hallway with a set of clothes to change into after the hot springs and my towel, I sighed. It's gonna be a long shower.

"We're not doing anything gay, right?!" I heard Zaksus shout to Noah who was already quite a distance ahead of us with a worried expression on his face.

I'm just me. An ordinary high school boy with no girlfriend, not too many friends, and no talent.  What I enjoy doing after school is roaming around the halls, hoping that like in the cliche anime and manga, I'll bump into someone that'll change my life. Of course, nothing is going to happen. What do you expect? 

But, this APP on my phone is kind of weird. I don't remember installing it. If I click on it, it asks me to complete missions. But how the hell am I supposed to do these embarrassing tasks?

I will post new chapters usually once a day, but that is subjected to change depending on my schedule as I am a student in my final year of high school. During breaks, I will usually post multiple chapters per day.

"And Then There Were Eight."

Pastor Ronald's face turns visibly red even under the blacklight.

"This isn't what we agreed upon!" he yelled.

Pastor Ronald looks at me, "Come on, we are leaving."

"Okay, Pastor," I reply with some disappointment.

'It seemed like it was just about to get to the fun part too.'

Suddenly, in the distance, we hear a scream. Over the loud music, the cry is just barely audible.

"And Then There Were Seven." the cute voice rings out again over the intercom. 

Someone turns the corner with a look of horror on her face. It's one of the girls from our group.

"Pastor Ronald! It's a servant of Lucifer. She killed...she killed..."

The girl burst into tears and drops to her knees. She can't seem to get the words out between the sobbing. Seeing this, Pastor Ronald starts moving toward her to comfort her.

Between the music and lights, the environment is very disorienting; however, for a moment, I caught sight of something sharp glowing in the blacklight. Faster then I could see, it disappears.

'huh, what was that?'

Looking around, I notice something odd about the crying girl. She is staring at her chest in disbelief. She reaches her hand out and grips a sharp blade protruding from her chest.

'Wh....what!' 

When she grips the blade blood drips from between her fingers. Under the blacklight, the blood glows brightly. 

Her hand let's go of the blade, and her body becomes limp. Suddenly, she disappears as if she was never there in the first place.

Standing behind her clutching, what appears to be a scythe is a little girl. Her eyes are glowing blood-red. Her skin and hair are so white that it is reflecting the blacklight. The little girl's small lips move, and an announcement comes on over the intercom system. 

"And Then There Were Six."

Pastor Ronald backs away and pushes me away. 

"Get behind me. Its a servant of Lucifer!" Pastor Ronald is visibly shaking.

With the adrenaline pumping and no idea what else to do, I comply with Pastor Ronald's words.

Holding up the scriptures and an idol of the God in Heaven, Pastor begins to yell loudly.

"Servant of Lucifer in the name of God, go back from wince you came!"

The demon girl frowns at the words of the Pastor. She begins stepping forward slowly. 

In a low voice without any of the playfulness she speaks.

"You really think that guy is going to come save you?"

**Swish. Swish**

With two smooth swings, the idol and scriptures are split in half. The demon girl smiles as if satisfied with her work.

"Looks like all that practice paid off.", she giggles.

Pastor Ronald freezes in disbelief at what just happened. The demon girl raises her scythe, holding it high above her head. The blade glows with the blood of its previous victims.

"No, the God in...."

The Pastor never finished his word before the demon girl swung the scythe down into the top of the Pastor's head.

"And Then There Were Five." the demon girl announces.

'She murdered Pastor Ronald!'

At the same time, a gray mist starts to condense next to the girl. It begins to take the shape of an old woman. For a moment, the old woman looks around the room in confusion.

Finally, she looks toward the demon girl with hungry eyes. The demon girl shows an annoyed expression and stomps the ground at the old woman causing her to flinch and step back. The demon girl holds up her free hand and points at me. 

The old woman looks toward me and grins. She reaches toward her face and starts pulling at her own skin. The skin becomes loose as if unfilled. Her skin falls slowly toward the floor as if it was clothing. In its place is a floating burning ball. Within the ball, I can see the deformed face of a burning woman. {1}

'What is that thing?!? This is all wrong! Wrong!'

The burning woman shrieks loudly and begins rapidly approaching me.

In terror, I turn away and begin to run. I scream in an attempt to warn the remaining students. The burning woman is so close I can feel the heat on my back. She continually clacks her teeth together as if eager to bite me. I keep screaming, but the loud electronic music seems to be drowning me out.

Turning a corner, I slam into someone else. It's one of the boys from my group.

"Run! Its demons! Minions of Lucifer! Run!" I cry in despair.

He turns to look, "Dude. No ones there."

"Wheres your partner, we need to leave here immediately!"

"Calm down, man. She's right..."

Together we both turn our heads. We see a horrified girl pressed against the wall as a burning woman approaches her with razor-sharp fangs. The girl seems wholly lost as she hasn't managed a single word. The burning woman reaches out, grabbing the girl's neck. I can hear the sizzling of the girl's skin when touched by the burning woman. 

The girl lets out a shriek of fear and horror. The burning woman seems to find a little pleasure in the scream and reaches out, pulling the girl closer to herself. The girl screams even louder. The burning woman's smile grows deeper.

Seemingly satisfied with playing with the girl, the burning woman yanks the girl's head back and bites her neck. Smoke and flames shoot from the mouth of the girl, causing intense heat to hit my face. The smell of burning flesh assaults my nostrils as horrific noises come from the girl's throat. A few seconds later, the burning woman pulls away, leaving a dehydrated burnt corpse on the ground.

"Evil demon!", the boy next to me yelled.

Having finished off her prey, the burning woman turns her attention back toward me. The other boy jumps to his feet and starts running.

She shrieks and again charges me. I turn to run again, but this time my knees give out. I scream as the burning woman reaches out her firey hand to grab my neck. Suddenly, the burning woman turns back into a gray mist. The gray mist hits my face and passes by me harmlessly. 

"And Then There Were Four."

Once the mist clears, I see the demon girl standing there with her arm around the head of the boy, I slammed into previously. The demon girl grabs his head and twists, causing his head to spin all the way around.

**Crack**

"And Then There Were Three.", demon girl gives me a small smile.

'Her scythe seems to have been left somewhere, but it doesn't matter; clearly, she can still easily kill me.'

Suddenly I hear yelling from behind the demon girl. I look and find the last two boys who came to this hell with me. Seeing the body of the other boy, the two boys charge forward. They attempt to tackle the demon girl.

"Get her!" they yelled.

They both ram the demon girl lifting her off the ground. Not stopping, all three of them slam into the wall causing dust to fall from the ceiling tiles.

For a second, I hold my breath and pray this nightmare is over.

"You jerks! Who said you could touch me!", the demon girl yells.

Lifting her little arm, she backhands one of the boys causing him to slam into the ground. Still being held against the wall, she lifts her leg and knees the other boy hard in the stomach, causing him to spit blood and fall to the ground.

Dropping to the ground, she moves to the boy who is still spitting blood. She pulls back her leg and kicks him hard in the temple, killing him.

"And Then There Were Two."

She walks over to the boy she backhanded, makes a fist, and punches him in the chest. His chest distorts, his bones crack, and his eyes grow big in shock. Eventually, blood and foam come from his mouth, and he stops moving.

"And Then There Were...Was one? Is one? Hmmm." she looks at me awkwardly.

She starts stepping toward me with a childish smile. Seeing this, I get on my knees.

"Please! Please, don't kill me!" I beg.

The demon girl stops in front of me as if thinking. She stares at me as if looking at my very soul.

"Please, I'll do anything!" I beg again.

"Is that so?" she says.

"Yes! Yes, anything!"

"Then, please die."

My heart becomes cold at her words. I feel the hands of the demon grip my head as if it was a vice grip. Faintly, I can smell citrus and seashells. 

After that, For a second, I feel a significant force on my head and neck.

'Wait since when was I staring at the wall?'

"And Then There Were None."

I stare at the body of the dead young man.

I don't have the time or luxury to reeducate weaklings like him right now. Letting him live would have just been asking for trouble in my current situation.

'Sorry, but you just weren't worth the risk, kid. You aren't my worshipper or anything, so I owe you nothing.'

Putting away the bodies, I start cleaning blood under the blacklights of the laser tag room.

**Sigh**

'I was so careful to kill in ways that blood wouldn't get everywhere, but in the end, some of it still splattered.'

After a couple of hours of cleaning, I take one more look around the room. Returning to the hidden employee entrance, I flip off the lights and turn off the music.

The room returns to silence.

In the distant past, mana flowed freely across all the Earth. There were numerous races, ferocious beasts, monsters, and even gods. These forces put considerable pressure upon humanity, pushing their population to the lowest point in history. In an effort to save his worshippers, the God of Heaven initiated his so-called "War of Righteousness". 

Many races were devastated, however none more so than the blood race. With her people facing extinction, the Goddess of Blood created the spitefully named Evil Goddess System to preserve her legacy in the worst-case scenario. Eventually, the Goddess fell, and the blood race went extinct.

Not long after the Earth was cut off from the cosmic mana stream and the numerous magical creatures inexplicably and suddenly vanished.

Tens of thousands of years passed, and humanity spread across the Earth. Finally, having sensed the slow return of the Earth's mana, the Evil Goddess System began to search for the inheritor of the Goddess's legacy.

Back in the beginning, these nine almighty soul masters joined hands to set down the seals inside the abyssal plane's passage. At present after a few thousand years, the seals had finally appeared once again. 
Nine tokens sank into the wall. The entire abyssal passage was shaking violently. With the nine tokens as its starting point, a large stretch of golden striations crept towards the depth of the abyssal passage. 
Loud booming sounds were still being emitted from the inside of the abyssal passage but now the situation seemed to have stabilized slightly. 
Nine circular platforms slowly arose from the walls. Blood One swayed his body and led the way to the twelve o'clock position right ahead. He took a seat on the platform while the rest of the eight Blood Gods each walked to a platform and sat cross-legged on it. 
"Use my blood as a guide!" A puff of blood mist burst from Blood One's body. It was completely forced out from his pores. The blood mist filled the air while Blood One's face immediately turned ghastly pale. 
"Use my blood as a guide!" The rest of the eight Blood Gods chanted the same incantation as huge puffs of blood mists were unleashed from their bodies too. 
Immediately after the unleash the blood mist fused into the platform underneath their bodies without wasting a second. Instantly, the golden scriptures in the entire cavern were illuminated. They clearly lit up everything to the deepest part of the abyssal passage.
One could see a large stretch of black mist surging in the depth of the passage by just looking down from the above. Piercing cracking noise was continuously being heard. 
Dark purple radiance indistinctly shimmered from the depth of the abyss in an attempt to creep upward. 
However, the array immediately stabilized with a force of downward suppression from the infused blood of the nine Blood Gods. 
"Spirit of nature, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation." Blood One's valiant voice echoed all the way to the top of the abyssal passage. The disc underneath his seat was shimmering as if the sun was shining on it with streams of golden radiance, spinning around his body before rising into the sky.
Soon after Blood Two shouted aloud, "Spirit of water, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation."
Blood Three said, "Spirit of fire, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation."
Blood Four said, "Spirit of earth, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation."
Blood Five said, "Spirit of wind, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation."
Blood Six said, "Spirit of light, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation."
Blood Seven said, "Spirit of darkness, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation."
Blood Eight said, "Spirit of time, hear my guidance. The soul of Douluo, forge the foundation."

In the chanting of nine incantations, nine discs were separately shimmering with different colors. The water disc shone with blue, the fire disc with red, the wind disc with green, 
Nine great nature's spirits completely bloomed with the nine Blood God's sacrifice of fresh blood as guidance to trigger the array underneath them. 
In the beginning the Blood Gods Great Array was created by the combined efforts of nine almighty Soul Masters but the seal was not formed from the strength of these nine people. Instead, the exceedingly complicated scriptures and their efforts in saving the people acted as guides to accumulate nine nature's spiritual energies on the continent in order to forge the seal. Douluo Continent's principle of exclusion toward this otherworldly plane was utilized. As a result, the seal managed to block the arrival of the abyssal plane for such a long period of time. 
On the other hand, just as the seal was about to be completed the almighty from the abyssal plane devoted all its strength to finally leave behind some small fissures in the area surrounding the seal. These fissures were meant to allow a passageway for ordinary abyssal creatures so that they would not be killed by the seal. This was the origin of those thirty-six passages. Otherwise, the abyssal plane would be completely isolated if the seal had been perfectly completed back then. 
The most important purpose for Blood God Battalion's existence was to replicate the nine senior almighty Soul Masters from that time in the most crucial moments. They guided the nine nature's spiritual energy to gather around the seal and triggered the seal to its most powerful extent. 
Even though there was a disparity between the abilities of today's nine Blood Gods and the nine seniors from back then, these nine great Blood Gods were assisted by their battle armors. After all battle armors had yet to completely take form in the soul master's world six thousand years ago. Even though not every one of them was a Limit Douluo, Blood One who assumed command in the middle had even exceeded the ability of the seniors. While the rest of the Blood Gods relied on their battle armors to elevate their cultivation base to Hyper Douluo-rank, his strength alone could complete one-third of the process of the entire array.
The dark clouds in the sky gradually transformed. Radiances of all colors faintly rippled. Nine-colored radiance covered was suspended above the abyssal passage akin to a gigantic shield of light. The radiance of nine different colors each infused into the nine Blood Gods bodies separately before infusing into the array through the guidance of their bodies. 
The golden striations on the array immediately brightened with light while the opened fissures below stopped cracking. There was no way it could continue to crack and one could even feel like it was about to close up.
On the other side, one after another king's body exploded on the abyssal plane. The purest form of abyssal energy bloomed as it wildly surged into the passage like monsters that tearing apart the fissures so that more abyssal energy could fuse into this side. 
This was no longer the battle between two worlds but was now the battle of natural laws between the two planes. Piercing howls and screeches continuously echoed from the depth of the abyssal passage. 
Zhang Huanyun raised his hand. "Prepare the protective shield, prepare the seismic wave. All hands on board, enter code red."
Nine Blood Gods had albeit stabilized the seal, but the abyssal plane was still trying to break the seal at all costs. Then they would be welcoming an immense abyssal tide for sure. A tide that was unprecedented in history. 
The powerhouses of the Blood God Army had already all gathered behind Zhang Huanyun. The Nine Blood Gods aside, amongst the Soul Masters of the Blood God Army there were more than ten Title Douluo-rank powerhouses. They were all clad in three-word battle armor as they quietly stood awaiting the arrival of this great war. 
Meanwhile, in the depth of the abyssal plane.
"Sage King, the price is too great. We've already opened the fissure but the humans are using some sort of unknown method to strengthen the seal even more, so it's very difficult for us to charge though. I'm afraid it takes the sacrifice of more ten kings. Are we going to…"
"Shut up. If the sacrifice of ten fails, then we'll send fifteen. If fifteen fails, then we'll send twenty. We can never give mankind the opportunity to recuperate and grow. I can already sense that a form of energy capable of annihilating our entire plane is being produced in the human world's natural law. This time is possibly our only chance. We can never allow mankind to grow more powerful."

Meanwhile, the abyssal plane once again began to shake violently. The natural laws were in chaos as countless weak abyssal creatures were instantly disintegrated on the plane. 
Bloodthirsty eyes shimmered while savage energy burst forth in a split second and the revolting abyssal plane calmed down a little.

Monarch's aura abruptly crept outward when a deep roar was heard. A stream of blood-red radiance penetrated countless layers of barriers before ferociously blasting against the passage's seal that was made up of thousands of golden scriptures.

The Nine Blood Gods guarding the seals were all trembling violently. Three of them with the weakest cultivation base could not help spitting out mouthfuls of fresh blood.

George's knowledge and wisdom were boundless and after a moment of deep thought, he concluded, "She possesses some kind of a domineering bloodline that is comparable or even stronger than that of the Lightning God!" His eyes flashed with a murderous light for a moment before dissipating.

Dan knitted his eyebrows but didn't refute his words, at the day that he took Grace's innocence, a strange phenomenon manifested by numerous snow crystals along with the drop of the room's temperature appeared. And when the System informed him about the possibilities, Dan had an idea about what was going on.

"George, how can you be so sure about that, is that really the case?" Dan asked and George glared at him, "Young master, I have lived far longer than you and have read numerous secret scriptures, if my memory serves me right, then it should be the case..."

Lightning flashed from the depths of the nine heavens and the skies dimmed, humidity decreased and snow descended from the skies. Grace's forehead shone in the same milky-white light. George kept staring towards the skies and as soon as he saw a flash of jet-black lightning, his expression contorted into utmost excitement and his figure shivered in ardent fanaticism.

In terms of extreme offense and the capabilities to break through all sorts of defenses and pierce through the heavens itself, no one would object that the Longinus Clan ranked first. However, in terms of extreme defense, one clan from the righteous path, the ultimate nemesis of the Longinus Clan, the descendants of the Water God, Masalanta existed.

And if George's deduction was right, then most likely Grace was a member of that prestigious clan. When he first realized this fact, he wanted to end Grace's life, but unfortunately, she was the young master's wife and killing her would certainly bring him a great deal of heartbreak which would damage his fledgling dao heart.

George manifested his Divine Soul and possessed Grace's body. Possessing her body at this moment meant suffering the pain in her stead. George didn't mind suffering such flimsy pain for as long as he succeeded in his corruption. After all, she was still the young master's woman and he had to treat her right. 

George's figure stood like a frozen statue while Grace's spasmed stopped.

A long cry echoed from the milky-white light, the cry was filled with sorrow.
