Iam a software analyst in financial sector my job timings is 2days night shift and 2days day shift 

One fine day early morning just I woke up and heard some sounds from outside like police sirens, Immediately I came outside and observe surroundings I had seen some people crowd very near to my house where iam staying here the same day  casually I didn't observe not so deeply and went to office as per schedule.

After one week i.e Saturday exact date is 21-12-2013 I saw news paper....🧐🧐 suddenly I read one shocking news about same incident which it was happend one week before very near to my house after read that news really I got shivered, 

The real story will started now what is shocking news?what is shivered news?

The next day, Gun-Ho returned to Korea with Attorney Young-Jin Kim.
As soon as he arrived in Korea, Gun-Ho headed straight to the construction field of his new factory in Jiksan Town, Cheonan City. Director Yoon and Jong-Suk were there already.
"Jong-Suk, I didn't know you are here."
"We were testing the extruding machines from Germany. We are producing our new product—AM083 Assembly—using this new machine."
"So, how is it?"
"It's really good. It's fast too. Mr. Sakata Ikuzo adjusted the duration of the production time with this machine."
Director Yoon who was standing quietly said,
"The factory is completed. Once you give us the date for the building dedication ceremony, we will prepare for it, sir. After the building dedication ceremony, we can move our factory from Asan City to here at any time. The plant manager said that any day would be good for the ceremony as long as there is no guest."
"What does he mean by a day without a guest?"
"You know, when people move to a new place, they pick a date without a guest like a ghost guest."
"You are an educated man who graduated from Seoul National University, Director Yoon. Do you believe in such superstition?"
"Haha. I don't believe in that. However, there are people who believe in it and consider those things very important."
"I see. I will let you know once I decide the exact date for the ceremony. I should pick a good day where we won't have rain."
"I guess that's why people are trying to find a day without a guest."
 
It was the day of meeting for GH Mobile directors and managers.
They usually get together in the morning every Monday, so Gun-Ho didn't have to ask for it.
"When do we want to have a building dedication ceremony for our new factory in Jiksan Town?"
"Sir, why don't you pick any good day for the ceremony when there is no guest? However, we want a Saturday for our moving day."
"Why does it have to be on Saturday?"
"We don't work on Saturdays and Sundays, so if we move to the new location on Saturday, it won't affect our production line."
"I will have to pay for those two days."
"We don't need everyone to be present for our moving. We just need a few essential workers. There are some agencies that professionally move factories too. Even though we use their service, we will still need essential workers present on the moving day since we will have to install our machines and equipment and make sure they work fine."
"Who should we ask to attend the ceremony?"
"Let's send out the invitation to our major customers and government officials in the area, and also anyone you want to ask to come, sir."
 
After the meeting, Gun-Ho was sitting on his chair while looking at the calendar on the wall to determine a good day for the building dedication ceremony.
"A day without a guest? Sh*t, how in the world do I possibly know which day would have no ghost guest? Should I just pick any Wednesday or Thursday?"
Gun-Ho thought of picking the following Wednesday or Thursday, and then he decided not to.
"Maybe I shouldn't just pick any day. Oh, maybe I should ask Chairman Lee about this."
Gun-Ho made a call to Chairman Lee. It had been a while.
"Sir, it's me, Gun-Ho Goo."
"Oh, President Goo. To what do I owe the pleasure of the call?"
"How are you, sir?"
"I am well. How's your business with the factory in Asan City?"
"It's going well, sir. And the new factory in Jiksan Town is finally completed. We will have a building dedication ceremony next week. I'd like you to come to the ceremony, sir."
"Oh, the factory is already fully constructed? It's so fast. I believe I told you that I would come to your building dedication ceremony so I could stop by Onyang and have a hot spring bath there. I will, of course come. Let me see… which day would be good for the ceremony. We need to pick a day without a guest."
"Which day would be a day without a guest?"
"I believe it's Wednesday, but let's ask Master Park to be sure. What was your date of birth, President Goo?"
Gun-Ho gave his date of birth to Chairman Lee while wondering why his date of birth was needed to pick the day.
Chairman Lee called Gun-Ho after about 30 minutes.
"I just talked with Master Park. He said 11 am on Wednesday would be good. You are a person who is supposed to use fire and soil, and Wednesday is the best day for you without a guest."
"Fire and soil?"
Gun-Ho had no idea what Chairman Lee was talking about.
"I will attend the ceremony. I don't have any prior engagement that day, anyway."
"Yes, sir. I will see you on Wednesday then."
 
After getting off the phone with Chairman Lee, Gun-Ho asked for general affairs manager.
"We will have the building dedication ceremony for the factory in Jiksan Town next Wednesday at 11 am. Please prepare our invitation letter that we can send out to the government officials in the area. Also, please help Director Yoon in preparing the ceremony."
"Yes, sir."
"We will have guests who are coming from somewhere far from Jiksan Town, so we want to serve some food for them. Oh, there seems to be an agency that can handle the preparation of food for a ceremony like ours; you can find one for us."
"I know one good agency for it. They usually send a chef to a ceremony and prepare food in a buffet style."
"Please send out the invitation letters to not only government officials but also to our major customers and vendors."
"Yes, sir."
 
Gun-Ho then picked up the interphone and talked to the plant manager as well.
"Our building dedication ceremony will be held on next Wednesday at 11 am. Once the ceremony ends, we will move our factory right away. Please be prepared for it."
"Yes, sir. I was so waiting for our moving day. We have several problems with our current factory like a leaking roof."
 
Gun-Ho then sent an email to President Jeong-Sook Shin at GH Media.
"I came across a good book during my business trip to the U.S., so I wanted to talk to you about it. A professor at the University of Washington—Professor Soo-Young Han—was reading that book, and he said it was an interesting book. The book's title is 'Tactics of two groups.' It is being published in the U.S. Also, there is a book called 'Business Model Design Compass.' Attorney Young-Jin Kim from Kim & Jeong Law Firm was reading that book. I was thinking that maybe we should publish these two books in Korea. I'd like to hear what you think. I haven't read these books; I have attached their pictures to this email. Please take a look at them and let me know what you think. Also, GH Mobile's new factory in Jiksan Town has been completely constructed, and we will have a building dedication ceremony on this coming Wednesday at 11 am. I'd like you to come to the ceremony. One of our staff will pick you up at Jiksan Station."
President Jeong-Sook Shin replied to Gun-Ho's email right away.
"I will take a look at those two books that you recommended and will give you my opinion on it on the day of the building dedication ceremony."

Sarah is in a daze, sitting on a chair in the huge tent with Sophia braiding her hair while JoAnna is painting her nails and Tiffany is doing something with her face. 
Sarah is aware of the noise around her and excited chatter, but she can't make out any words.
Oh, God! It is happening!
Stella peeked in the tent and smiled gently while looking at Sarah. 
"Status?", JoAnna's question was directed at Stella even though she didn't lift her head from doing Sarah's nails.
Stella bobbed her head excitedly. "Outside, we are ready for you."
"How about the guys?", JoAnna asked her next question.
Stella's eyes flashed and she exited the tent while saying: "I need to check that." 
They don't have a schedule set for this event, so when everyone is ready, the ceremony can start.
Bridgette made her way into the tent and placed a wonderful bouquet of white roses mixed with purple and rose wildflowers on the desk in front of Sarah. "At least I got to do one thing as the maid of honor."
JoAnna rolled her eyes. "You helped plan the party at their house."
Bridgette pursed her lips. "I'm not sure how much that counts…"
Ellie walked into the tent with Paulette, Ashley and Anita, each carrying huge garment bags which obviously had dresses inside them.
"Who is ready to dress up?", Ellie asked.
"Me!", Bridgette raised her hand excitedly.
They had dresses for the bridesmaids and the bride. Others were already wearing their fancy-outfits.
Sarah looked at Ellie. "Aren't you on your honeymoon?"
Ellie grinned. "Yup. But we were in the neighborhood and stopped by." Ellie made a dramatic pause and rolled her eyes. "Come on, do you really think that a honeymoon will prevent me from attending your wedding? I also got presents! As my wedding gifts, I made you your wedding dress, and the dress for the after-party. And your dashing groom has outfits to match you. How I see it, your wedding would not be very jazzy without my presence."
JoAnna stifled a laugh and said teasingly: "You can just send the outfits. No need for your presence."
Ellie wanted to return a snarky remark at JoAnna, but she heard Sophia say dejectedly: "I am the only Hill sister who didn't get a wedding dress from you…"
"Don't worry. Next time when you get married, I will make you one.", Ellie said jokingly.
JoAnna burst into laugh. "If Felix hears you, he will have a heart attack."
Sarah looked at Ellie in a daze. "A wedding dress? Can I see it?"
"You will be done in two minutes.", Sophia told Sarah to be patient.
"I need at least five.", Tiffany informed them. "Don't move so much… close your eyes…", Tiffany instructed Sarah before applying eyeshadow. "Look at you. How can you have such a great skin? You barely need any makeup…"
"She is still a baby. Only twenty years old.", Sophia said lovingly.
"I will be twenty-one tomorrow.", Sarah responded.
"Eh…", Tiffany sighed. "Twenty or twenty-one, you will be glowing at the altar, exchanging vows of forever with Aiden."
Suddenly, Sarah felt that she is running out of oxygen. "Vows? What vows?"
"Oh, oh…", Sophia waved JoAnna to get her attention on Sarah. "We have a situation."
JoAnna observed Sarah who was getting paler by the second. "Breathe… breathe…"
Sophia cringed. She knows that JoAnna's 'breathe, breathe' was for Sarah, but somehow, Sophia was reminded of her delivery experience and Felix going 'hee-hee, hoo-hoo' all the time. And to make things worse, soon she will go through that again!
Sarah took rapid shallow breaths. "Vows? I don't have any!"
JoAnna glanced at Bridgette who was undressing, in order to change into her bridesmaid's dress. "Get us the panic box."
"Panic box?", Ellie asked JoAnna while her eyes didn't leave Sarah who looked like she is about to hyperventilate.
JoAnna nodded at Ellie in confirmation and grabbed the box which Bridgette handed her. JoAnna opened it and there was a number of envelopes. She was flipping them and reading the labels: "Cold feet… Too soon… Bridesmaids… Dresses… Too many people… No vows… Found it!"
JoAnna gave the envelope to Sarah who took it with a confusion obvious on her face while having difficulty breathing.
"Aiden predicted that you will panic for various reasons and prepared this box for you.", JoAnna explained.
Sarah opened the envelope and pulled the paper which read: "Don't worry love, I don't have any vows either."
Sarah read it few times and laughed weakly. How did he know? She sighed. Aiden knows her best. He was able to predict various situations she will freak about, because this whole thing is a surprise. He is amazing like that.
Sarah's eyes moved back to the box before she glanced at JoAnna. "You said that there is one for cold feet?"
JoAnna confirmed. "If you plan on bailing out of the wedding, then you can read it."
Sarah has no intention of leaving, but she was curious. "Give it to me."
A second later, Sarah burst into laugh. The note inside read: "Don't even think about it!", and there was an angry emoji below it.
Sarah put the notes back into envelopes and gave them to JoAnna. "Please keep this safe. I want to preserve them, as memories."
"Let me keep them!", Bridgette volunteered. "As your maid of honor, I get to do these things."
Oni and Nala peeked into the tent, both wearing lovely dresses which are wedding appropriate. Nala is in a light purple knee length dress with lace sleeves and a flowy skirt. Oni is in a sleeveless blue dress which ends above her knees, has a wide sash at her waist and the dress has crystal beading at the bust and an A-line skirt. Both girls wore matching flat silver sandals.
"You two look amazing!", Sarah praised them and asked them to turn so that she can see them from the back.
JoAnna and Sophia exchanged smug glances. 
"We took all your kids shopping.", JoAnna said.
"Felix went with the boys.", Sophia added.
"Thank you." Sarah smiled gratefully. She is the one who usually takes her girls shopping when there is some occasion, and Aiden takes the boys.
"You are still not dressed up?", Nala asked when she observed that Sarah is wearing a robe.
"I am almost done!", Tiffany squeezed through her teeth, making JoAnna and Sophia laugh.
Sarah looked at Oni in the mirror. "How are you doing?"
"Great. My feet are almost healed, there are no more open sores.", Oni responded.
"How are things with Michael?", Sarah probed.
"Who is Michael?", JoAnna butted in.
"Jesse.", Sarah responded and waved her hand for JoAnna to be patient.
Oni fidgeted for a second. She had a feeling that everyone is looking at her. Even Nala was observing her curiously and waiting for Oni to speak. Oni wanted to tell Nala what happened in the Chateau and then in Frankfurt, but there was no time to talk in private and she can't talk in front of Michael.
"Things are OK.", Oni responded.
"Do you want to resume doing missions with him?", Sarah asked Oni.
Oni bit her lower lip while wondering how to answer this question. Of course, she wants to continue doing missions with Michael. She wants to spend her every moment close to him, but… she is haunted by the image of him and Marija walking down the hallway, and the sound of their flirty voices coming from the kitchen and… Oni feels like her heart is cracking all over again. 
As much as Oni wants to pour her heart out and share her grief, she knows that other than listening, Sarah can't do much. No one can, unless there is a magic wand to erase that part of Oni's memory or maybe to return the time to Saturday evening and to make Jesse not go to the kitchen that night, or at least to prevent Oni from going after him. But that is not possible. 
Oni knows how the only thing that can mend her broken heart is when the time makes her memory fuzzier, and her pain duller and maybe, just maybe one day she can look at Michael and feel that pure joy she used to feel when she was near him... before Saturday.
"That… I am not sure. Is it OK if we keep everything how we agreed on Sunday?"
Sarah nodded in confirmation. "Sure. I was curious. Sorry if it's an uncomfortable topic."
"No, no…", Oni said with urgency and slowed down with her explanation: "It's just that… I am still not sure what I want to do, and I don't want to rush it one way or another. Michael and I are OK, capable of holding a conversation, and you don't need to worry that there are any problems. Let's talk when you return from your… vacation."
Sarah looked at Oni and pressed her lips into a line. Oni is only sixteen, but she acts very mature. Part of Sarah admires Oni for that quality, and the other part of Sarah feels sorry that Oni is not a carefree sixteen years old girl.
"OK. We will talk when I get back. That will give you time to sort your thoughts. As for the vacation, at this point it's safe to call it a honeymoon."
Sarah looked at Oni, Nala, JoAnna and Sophia and asked: "For how long do you know that Aiden is preparing this?"
"I think Haru is calling.", Nala said and rushed out of the tent.
"Yup. Someone is calling me also." Oni was two steps behind Nala.
JoAnna and Sophia laughed. 
"Your kids bailed on you.", JoAnna said through laugh. "But if you want to know who found out first, talk to the designer lady."
Ellie waved her hands defensively. "Why did you pick me? I am on my honeymoon… The maid of honor should answer."
Bridgette opened her blue eyes so wide that they looked like full circles. "I… just… got… the flowers.", she said robotically. 
They all laughed.
Sarah confirmed that they are all in this together.
"Come on… time for a wedding dress!", Ellie exclaimed while her eyes sparkled toward Sarah.
"Wedding dress? It seems that I am on time...", Emma said with a big smile when she entered the tent.

The crappy night of sleep put me in a bad mood Saturday morning when Noah forced me to wake up. Apparently I slept in and we had to hurry. I was sluggish in my movements as I changed and headed downstairs. Neither twin was in sight as I followed Noah out the door. Zeke was already waiting in the car. 

"Trouble sleeping?" Zeke asked, glancing back at me as I sat in the back seat. Noah jumped in the front passenger seat leaving the whole row to myself. 

I yawned. "It wasn't terrible."

"He's lying." Noah remarked. "He tossed and turned all night. That's why I was up so early."

"You don't have to go." Zeke expressed a little worry. 

I must not look so good. I rubbed my cheeks, then my eyes. "No, I'm good. I want to go too."

Zeke waited an extra minute before deciding to believe me. Then we were off. 

Noah had a backpack in his lap and apparently it was full of food. He handed me a banana and an apple. "Mom said to have some before Zeke buys us hotdogs."

"Thanks." I munched on the apple first. 

The drive was only about an hour. Much closer than some other schools. I guess I won't have to worry about the road trip to Servite. It also wasn't in the mountains like Porterville was. It also made Porterville look like a poorly made and financed school. 

"Wow." Noah's jaw dropped as we entered the parking lot and Zeke tried finding a space. "It looks so modern. It must have been remodeled recently."

"Last year." Zeke said, finding a spot in a sea of cars. "They have boosters to support their school and team."

"Boosters?" I questioned. 

"It's like a financial donor." Noah explained. "Mom and Dad are on the booster club for our school's baseball team. Mom also helps out the cross country too if they're selling houses like crazy."

"Oh." I looked around at the magnificent, large, three story building. It was obviously their school building where the classrooms were. 

"Servite is a private school too." Zeke added, getting out of the car. "That means each student has to pay for tuition unlike our school." We all got out of the car and he locked the doors. "Unless they get an exemption of some sort. The school brings in a lot of money so they can pay for better facilities."

Noah had the backpack on, and we followed Zeke obediently. "Does that mean they have a nice baseball field?"

"I suppose." Zeke said. He glanced back at us. "There looks to be a lot of people here today so stick close."

Noah sped up. "Yea, there are a lot of cars at a school on a Saturday. Do you think they all came for the baseball game?"

"Their program is well known. Pitching is phenomenal. They're also playing a good team." Zeke said. 

The three of us started to run into other people heading in the same direction. I kept close to Noah and Zeke, scared of getting lost. The crowd all gathered towards the baseball field, the stadium lights turned off for the day game. 

"$2 a person." An older man stated as each person tried to enter through the gates. 

"We have to pay?" Noah made a face. "They already have enough money."

Zeke didn't agree or disagree. He just pulled out his wallet and then a couple of ones. "Three students." He countered. 

"$3 total." The man held out his hand. 

Zeke passed over the money and we were allowed in. He looked to the stands that were filling up. Then at us. "Let's get seats first. Then I'll go get the food from the snack bar." He didn't wait for our answer. He just started to walk to the bleacher that was in the center, behind home plate. It had a mixture of fans from both schools. 

We climbed up and sat in the last row in the center. 

"Not bad." Noah commented, setting the backpack down. "Zeke, hotdog with everything they have."

Zeke nodded before facing me. "What do you get on your hotdog?"

"Just ketchup." I said softly. 

Zeke moved Noah's bag to save himself a seat. "If you don't protect this seat, I'm not handing over the hotdogs."

"Aye, aye captain." Noah saluted. 

Zeke left to join the line for food, leaving me and Noah in a sea of strangers. I tried not to panic, reassuring myself that I can't be grabbed from behind, but I still felt trapped with all the people around us. There was a whole assortment of parents, grandparents, kids, students and so on. 

"Hey, Hey! Look at that!" Noah pointed out to the field. I followed his finger to the outfield where two people were playing catch. Super-long catch. "Wow. He must be an outfielder like Zeke. He's a Servite player."

"He's actually the pitcher of today's game." A voice said in front of us. A man with a hat turned around and partly lifted the hat. "What a surprise to see you boys here."

"Who are you?" Noah asked, almost like he was reading my mind. I don't think I recognize this man at all. 

"Hey, that's not nice. We met at Stanford, remember? During Zeke's tryout." The man pointed at the logo on his blue hat. "Hint, I work for the cubs as a scout..."

"Oh! Yea! I remember you." Noah tapped his chin. "Willie..?"

The man nodded. "Willie Ramsey. I saw you guys taking the last row so I jumped at the chance to sit near you boys."

"Still after Zeke?" Noah grinned. 

"It's my job." Willie shrugged. "I heard he committed to Stanford after his SoCal trip. Good school. Good chance of going to the College World Series this year."

"It's just a backup plan if the draft doesn't go to plan." Noah commented. "I'm sure if he gets picked in the first or second round, he would go pro." Noah winked. 

Willie laughed. "Good to hear. Sadly I don't get to make that decision. I just submit the info to my boss who submits his thoughts to the big boss."

"Too bad." Noah pouted for a second before looking back out to the field. "So that's the pitcher for Servite today? How much do you know?"

Willie grinned and lifted his notepad. "Quite a bit." He cleared his throat before reading. "Alex Sanchez. Pitches left-handed, bats right. Top speed recorded: 95mph. Has good motion on curve and slider. Six foot three inches." He looked back at us. "Almost the same size as Zeke. Also, pretty okay at the plate."

"Wow. He's like Garret, but an improved version." Noah told me. It sounded like it too. "I hope we don't have to play him specifically. Could you imagine someone like Zeke hurling fastballs at you?"

I gulped. 

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please rise for the national anthem." Someone spoke using the speaker system. It got quiet as everyone stood and faced the flag in center field. Even the players had frozen on the field. They had a kid sing the anthem over the system, sounding almost like a real pro game. Wow. 

I followed along, standing and facing the flag. Then we sat down as the announcer started to go over fan conduct and how to report unruly fans. 

"This is crazy." Noah whispered. "I wonder if it'll be like this when we play here."

I gulped again, feeling butterflies in my stomach.

It was Icha's first time at a bar so she didn't know what to do. After all, she doesn't like alcohol so she never visited this type of place.

She wore a black shirt and a black hoodie jacket she also wore blue jeans that covered her legs with rubber shoes. The only skin she was showing was her face and her hands.

She proceeded to the corner where her friends are at. "Hey, guys!" She greeted them.

There were 5 of them, 1 girl and 4 boys. If your gonna ask, Why boys? It's because she's a tiny tiny bit of a tomboy. She does have girlfriends but they all either left abroad, busy with family or work, and she didn't have a way to contact them.

He walked towards Icha and knocked on her car door elegantly.

Icha opened the car door and went out. "W-what's your problem?" she spoke and stuttered a bit at the beginning.
"I could say the same to you woman!" he screamed at her. Icha could smell his minty lemony fresh breath.

If you're asking for a reason why she just did that then, first of all, it's because she's drunk. Second, she felt like she was dreaming and thought that this man was so hot she took advantage of thinking it was a dream. Finally, it's because she's lonely as fuck.

She has never been in a relationship so she never has anyone to kiss, hug and do 'it' with her and I meant a man that loves her and she also loves.

When she met this man somehow she felt some kind of spark for him.

 I roll over and turn the alarm off. Ugh, I had that dream again. Is my subconscious telling me to make time for more than my studies and book club meetings? It could be this new book I'm reading. Either way, it's been a while since…I don't want to think about that right now. I guess I'd better get ready for classes. It's Monday and it's raining. I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth, wash my face, and brush my hair up into a ponytail. As I put on my purple flannel, blue jeans, and rain boots I decide to stop by the coffee shop on my way to my morning classes to pick up something hot to drink. I gather all of my books and head downstairs to breakfast. Today is going to be different, I can feel it.

"Good morning Mom," I say putting my books on an empty chair and sitting down.

"Good morning Lena, did you sleep well" my mother says placing breakfast in front of me and kissing me on the cheek.

"Yes mom. Did you," I ask pouring us both a cup of orange juice.

"I did," she says sitting across from me.

"Where's dad and the twins," I ask her placing a forkful of eggs into my mouth.

"The twins wanted to catch a ride to school from dad because of the rain, so they left early," mom says sipping her juice.

"Oh, I would've given them a ride," I say.

"I'm sure you would have, they didn't want to bother you," mom says.

"Hmm," I say more to myself than my mom. We finish our breakfast in silence and I wash our dishes. Afterwards I put my books into my bag and get ready to head out.

"Alright mom, I'm heading out," I say putting on my rain jacket and grabbing my bag and umbrella.

"Do you have any plans after class today," mom asks standing in the doorway.

"No, not really. I'll probably go to the coffee shop to get some work done," I answer. She's been trying to make sure I get out the house more since I had that bad break up with Jay. It's been about a year since then though, I thought I was getting better.

"Oh love, you need to get out a little more. Call Rylie and Nova and have a girl's day out or something," she says with a look of concern.

"Yeah, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'll see what they have going on this weekend." I reply smiling reassuringly. 

"Good, go make some memories with your friends," she says smiling back.

"You do know that I am okay with being alone mom," I say reminding her.

"I know you are and it's okay to go out and be with other people as well," she says smiling and walking to her office.

"Thanks mom, I appreciate it," I say walking towards the door.

"Okay, be safe and try to stay warm," she yells from her office. She's a successful and well known real estate agent and Dad owns a chain of restaurants and yet we live a modest life.

"Will do, I'm going to stop by the coffee shop to get something hot to drink on my way to class," I yell back at her. 
 I get in the car and drop my bag and umbrella on the passenger seat. I text Riley and Nova while I'm waiting for the heat to kick in. They're both down to hang out this weekend so we'll meet up at the coffee shop after classes to figure it all out. I head out to the coffee shop to get that hot drink before classes. I pull up and am able to get a spot close to the front. The rain is still coming down considerably so I grab my umbrella and wristlet out of my bag. As I walk to the door, the wind picks up and blow my umbrella right out of my hands! When I turn around to chase it, I see that it's been caught.
"Is this yours," he says with a beautiful white smile and velvet voice.

"Y-yes," I reply trying to find the rest of my voice. He is tall and beautiful with brown satin skin. He look so familiar and yet I don't know where I know him from.

"Well, here you are," he says still smiling closing the gap between us and handing me the umbrella.

"Thank you," I reply looking into his eyes feeling my ears warm and heart racing. Good grief he is handsome. I have to tell myself to take the umbrella and to stop staring.

"It's no problem," he says and walks ahead to open the door to the coffee shop holding it open for me.

"Thank you again," I say closing my umbrella walking past him into the shop filled with people looking to escape the cold wet weather and for something hot to drink.

"You're welcome," he says smiling and follows me to the long line of people waiting to be serviced.

         As I stand in line very aware of the beautiful man behind me, I can't get my heart to stop racing so I try to focus on something else. It's proving impossible though, through the heavy coffee aroma in the air I can smell his cologne and it's intoxicating. Not only is he beautiful he smells wonderful as well. It's been a while since my mind and body has been so aware of a man's presence. I just have to pull myself together; I think I'll get a muffin to go with my hot drink just to have something to nibble on. This line is so long, thank goodness I have quite some time to kill before the first class starts.

"So do you go to the university," I hear the velvet voice behind me ask.

"Yes," I reply shifting my wristlet from my right hand to my left. "What about you," I ask.

"Yeah, I go there," he says moving a little closer, I'm guessing to keep up the conversation.

"That's cool, I'm Lena by the way," I say turning around holding out my hand. My heart is racing so hard I can feel and hear it drumming away in my ears.

"Nice to meet you Lena, I'm Mekhi," he says taking my hand in his and giving it a little squeeze. 

"Nice to meet you Mekhi," I reply smiling in response to his smile. I can't believe I'm conversing with a man and not giving him the cold shoulder. The line starts to move so I move along with it and I both hear and feel Mekhi moving as well.

"So do you come here often," he asks moving steadily with the line.

"Yeah, this is kind of my go to place. It's between my house and the University so I come here just about every day," I respond moving as the line moves again.

"That's cool. I stop by every once in a while," he says.

"Oh okay," I say. I'm next in line so I think about what I want to order. Is it going to be coffee or hot chocolate? I'm definitely getting a banana nut muffin, so I guess I'll get the hot chocolate. I'll pay for whatever he gets as well as thanks for catching my umbrella and returning it to me.

"Good morning," the young lady behind the counter calls.

"Hey, good morning! Could I have a large hot chocolate, the jumbo banana muffin and I'll pay for whatever the guy gets behind me," I say looking back at Mekhi and moving to the side.

"Okay, ma'am! Good morning sir! What can I get for you today," the young lady says smiling looking between us.

"Good morning, I'll have a large breakfast tea and bagel with cream cheese," he says smiling his wide smile at the young lady behind the counter.

"Th-thank you sir," the young lady stammers back.

"Then that's everything," I say to the young lady behind the counter. So I'm not the only one affected by that smile I note to myself.

"Your total is 12.81 ma'am," she says to me. As I hand her my bank card Mekhi moves my hand out of the way and gives her his bank card.

"Hey, I'm trying to pay for your stuff as a thank you for returning my umbrella to me," I say taken aback at his speed and his actions.

"Oh, I wouldn't be a gentleman if I allowed you to pay for my stuff," he says with that easy smile I believe is used to disable women.

"Well you have to let me pay for your tea at the very least," I reply feeling a little self-conscious as I'm sure my eyes are wide because my ears are burning with blush as I put my card back into my wristlet.

"No can do. However if you have a little time before your class starts we can grab a table together," he says walking over to the order pick up counter.

"Sure, I have a little time," I reply following him sheepishly to the order pick up counter.

"Good," he says smiling again sticking his hands in his front pockets.

      As we're waiting for our order I look over him as sneakily as possible. He's tall maybe six-two or six-three, he looks lean underneath his jacket and dark jeans. His teeth are perfect and white and his skin really looks like brown satin; I want to touch him just to see if it's as smooth as it looks. Oops! My thoughts are running away while I'm looking at him so I turn away and look at the menu. I thought it would be a long time before I could have these feelings again. A year seems so close and yet so far away I can hardly remember how I spent my time then. I let myself wallow too long over that fool. NEVER AGAIN. I think angrily.

"Hey, I have our food and drinks," Mekhi calls pulling me from those deep thoughts.

"Okay, where do you want to sit," I ask smiling at him trying to recover the mood.

"You lead the way, I'll follow," he says smiling back and just like that my irritation melts away.

"Okay, I know the perfect spot," I say leading him to a corner in the back of the shop that has these comfortable armchairs and little table between them.

"This is a good spot," Mekhi says sitting our food and drinks on the table and taking a seat.

"Isn't it? This is my spot," I say sinking into my favorite armchair. This is different besides Rylie and Nova I've never brought anyone back to "my spot" not even that fool Jay. However seeing as though the shop is still a little crowded I suppose I had no choice. Now we're supposed to have small talk and I'm not even sure I'm any good at that.

"So, Lena how long have you been coming here for this to be your spot," he asks stirring sugar into his tea.

"Hmm it's been for a long time now. I mean my dad used to bring us here whenever we were feeling down or needed to talk away from the house. I've been coming on my own for the last five years though. At first I caught the bus here, then when I started driving I ended up here almost every day," I answer taking a piece of my muffin wondering why I said so much.

"Oh okay, I only started coming here two years ago when I started at the University," he says answering my unasked question.

"Are you not from this area," I ask taking a sip of my hot chocolate looking him in his brown eyes.

"Nah, I lived about two hours away," he says returning my gaze with his own and the mega watt smile.

"Oh okay, that's cool. What brought you to this University," I ask realizing that I am definitely making small talk and I'm interested in whatever it is he has to say.

"Basketball actually. They offered a full ride so I took the opportunity to further my education," he says.

"That's cool. I didn't really follow the basketball team. Maybe I should," I say. If Mekhi asks to me to come to a game I'm not sure that I won't refuse no matter how my mind will tell me "no" the rest of my body is saying "yes". I'm thinking too far ahead though.

"You should come to our next game, we're playing in a tournament this Saturday. I mean if you're not busy" he says laying back into the chair smiling watching for my answer.

"Hmm, I'll think about it," I reply trying to be objective and not give an immediate answer. I just met this guy and even though he make my heart race I'm just not too sure. It's supposed to be a girl's day anyway; we'll discuss this matter later. 

"Alright then," he says eating the rest of his bagel.

"Cool," I say trying not to get too dazzled or distracted by this guy. He already has gotten more time and conversation out of me than the last few guys that have approached me. I wonder what's so different about him. I steal another glance at him while sipping my hot chocolate; he's just so familiar I don't know why though.

"Well Ms. Lena, I don't want to take up too much more of your time so I'll be leaving," he says standing up pulling me from my internal evaluation.

"Okay then, I guess I'll see you around Mekhi and thank you again for breakfast," I reply standing myself and sticking out my hand to shake his. Instead of shaking my hand he pulls me into a hug shocking me.

"I'll see you Saturday," he says into my ear with that velvet voice of his and I nearly melt.

"Yeah…Saturday," I respond because I can't think of anything else to say. He releases me and heads out of the shop…and I watch him, like a fool, as he leaves. 

         Sit down! I remind myself. I have no idea what just happened or how I ended up in this precarious situation on a cold and rainy Monday morning. I was just stopping for something hot to drink and something small to eat yet I find myself invited to a basketball game by a tall handsome guy that I'm sure I want to see again. I pull out my phone to check the time and I still have a little while before class starts so I try to search Mekhi on social media sites. After fifteen minutes of active searching I come up empty handed and admit defeat. Oh well. I think to myself I suppose it's a good thing, he's probably a very private person. I put my muffin back into its bag and grab my drink and umbrella and leave the shop as well.

         It's not raining as hard when I reach the door so I just pull up the hood on my rain jacket and walk straight to my car. Taking a deep breath once I get in and close the door; Rylie and Nova are going to have a field day when I tell them about my morning. They've been trying to set me up on dates for a year now and I've rejected every single one. Woah. I don't think inviting me to a basketball game is a date right? Everyone is invited to games it's a public thing. I think I'm starting overthink things; he was just being friendly. Now I'm so confused. Ugh, let me get to class before I'm late.

Lena lets go of her past and find love in the process. Can she balance new love with college and forget everything that has happened to her?

Liz had four patients that morning. 
In-between those four appointments, she worked on her research paper. She is very happy with the progress. At this rate, by the end of the week, she will be ready to submit it for a peer review, which is a necessary step before she sends it to the respectable publishing magazines.
Liz was all giddy. Max sent her four text messages. Mostly sweet nothings, asking her what she is doing, if she is having a good day and telling her that he looks forward to seeing her after work. 
Even without being by her side, Max can make her happy. Liz made sure to respond promptly, and she hoped that her messages put a smile on his face as well. 
Liz wanted to ask him how his day is going, but then realized that she should not be too nosey and interrupt his work. She will ask him in the evening. The thought of Max and her talking about simple things like their day over dinner made her feel all warm and fuzzy.

Liz was on time at Dr. Kaviraj's office. As she suspected, Dr. Kaviraj has surgeries scheduled for Thursday, two of them. And she asked Liz if she is available and willing to assist her on both. Of course, Liz accepted. She will take whatever she can to get into that operating room.
Dr. Kaviraj appreciates Liz's enthusiasm. She shared relevant information on two patients and their condition, so that Liz has the time to prepare.
There was one more point that Dr. Kaviraj brought up: "My friend, Dr. Thomas is a virologist. She is currently developing a cure for a new strand of virus which attacks the nervous system. She asked me if I know any good neurologist she can consult, and I thought of you."
Liz was trying to remember why that name sounds so familiar. A number of articles she read in different medical magazines popped into her mind. "Virologist, Dr. Thomas? Dr. Marisa Thomas?"
Dr. Kaviraj confirmed. "She is currently somewhere in South America and if you agree to assist her, it would happen online. There is no need for you to go in person so your job here will not be impacted."
Liz's eyes sparkled. She never worked on anything like that. A virus which attacks the nervous system? And she gets to analyze it and help in finding a cure? She is in!
Dr. Kaviraj was happy to talk about Dr. Tomas. She told Liz how they met at some event more than a decade ago and since then, they are in touch. Dr. Kaviraj mentioned that she respects Dr. Thomas' professionalism and dedication to work.
Liz thought how Dr. Thomas an admirable person.
By the time they finished chatting, it was almost past lunch hours and the two of them headed to the cafeteria together.

Liz was busy with her roasted salmon when Dr. Kaviraj asked: "How come you are not having lunch with Dr. Snow? Did you two have a fight?"
Liz paused. How does Dr. Kaviraj know about the incident on Saturday? Liz decided not to jump into conclusions and to clarify: "What makes you think that we had a fight?"
"Nurses are talking that he sent flowers as an apology to you. Lover's quarrel?"
Liz frowned slightly. "What makes you think that we are lovers?"
Dr. Kaviraj was entertained by Liz's innocence. How can she be so oblivious to her surrounding? But she thought that she should not meddle. "I'm sorry. It's none of my business."
Liz was unable to hide her anxiousness. What lovers? From where did that come from? 
"No, no, no… please explain. What makes you think that there is anything going on between Dr. Snow and me?"
Dr. Kaviraj reminded herself that as her mentor she should advise Liz about anything that could impact her career. In this case, she needs to make Liz aware what her coworkers are talking about behind her back.
Dr. Kaviraj was choosing her words: "You and Dr. Snow are having lunches together. Just the two of you. And acting very friendly. Everyone from the staff assumes that there is something going on between the two of you. And nurses are whispering that he sent you an extravagant bouquet with an apology and asking for another chance and you threw the flowers away. Considering his reputation and desirability among the younger staff, they think how you are playing hard to get and expecting a bigger proof of his sincerity in order to forgive him."
Liz felt that the whole cafeteria was spinning. 
She shook her head in disbelief. How come she didn't see it coming? It is true that she had lunches with Dr. Snow almost every day, just the two of them. But they had them in the cafeteria, not in private. Unfortunately, that only allowed others to see them together and to come to their own conclusions. Both of them are young and available and friendly to each other. It is not unexpected that people would assume how there is something going on. 
Liz took a deep breath and scolded herself for being so naïve. Stupid. She came from New York to avoid drama caused by being her father's daughter and plunged right into a drama of her own.
She glanced at the group of four people seated nearby and wondered, what are they thinking when they look at her? Do they see her as Dr. Williams, the neurosurgeon? Or do they see her as Dr. Williams, Dr. Snow's lover? Do they think that she is trying to get ahead by associating herself with the famous Dr. Snow? 
"Elizabeth, are you OK?", Dr. Kaviraj's concerned question pulled Liz out of her thoughts.
Liz sighed while rubbing her temples. "This is a horrible misunderstanding. We were just having lunches, nothing more. We had a group lunch on Saturday, and he acted out of line and that is why he sent flowers… I have a boyfriend."
"You do?", Dr. Kaviraj's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. She knows Elizabeth as a career-focused woman who was never mentioned in the context of romance (other than this gossip which involves Dr. Snow). More than once they talked about private life, and the only man Liz ever mentioned is her father.
Dr. Kaviraj saw Liz and Dr. Snow having lunch more than once, and even though she didn't hear what they were talking about, Dr. Kaviraj observed that Liz didn't show any non-verbal signs that she is interested in the man. But she wanted to alert Liz about the rumors which are going around, so that she does not get pulled deeper into gossip unintentionally.
Liz thought how to explain to Dr. Kaviraj Max's presence in her life and then she remembered: "You saw my boyfriend, in the riding club. He was the one who fell off the horse and I went with him into the ambulance van."
"Oh, so you fell for a patient?", Dr. Kaviraj teased.
"No. I knew him before that. We live in the same building.", Liz explained vaguely and then her mood dropped again. "Oh, God! Probably everyone thinks that there is something going on between Dr. Snow and me. And I was ignorant and fueled rumors every time I accepted his company without thinking what that could look like to onlookers. How can I clear this up?"
Dr. Kaviraj shrugged helplessly. She really likes Liz and decided to offer her advice: "Do you need to clarify anything? People close to you will know what the truth is, as for the others, if you try to deny it, you will only fan the flames. One way or the other, it's just gossip. It will not affect your work unless you allow it to mess with your head. It will disappear in time, as long as you are aware of it and avoid ambiguous situations. But you might consider giving a heads up to your boyfriend, so that he does not misunderstand in case he hears about it."
Liz forced a smile. She knows that Dr. Kaviraj is right, but that does not make current situation any more pleasant. 
Maybe she can talk to Dr. Snow and ask him to clarify their relationship as coworkers-only for everyone? Liz glanced around, hoping to spot him, and she realized that the cafeteria is almost empty. Of course, they came late for lunch. He was here probably on time and left before she arrived.
Liz wondered if she should look him up in his office. A second later, she dismissed the idea. Dr. Kaviraj is right when advising her to avoid ambiguous situations, and Liz looking for Dr. Snow in his office is as ambiguous as it gets, especially after those flowers in the morning. 
Max's words rang in her mind: 'Don't give him a chance to catch you without anyone else around.'
She will not allow herself to end up by herself with Dr. Snow. Even if he is respectful and does not try anything funny, it will only stir-up these crazy gossips.
Liz frowned while thinking how if she heard about this gossip, Dr. Snow heard about it as well. After all, he is socializing much more with the coworkers than she is. Why didn't he say anything to stop it? Is he enjoying when people assume that the two of them are romantically involved?
Liz thought about Max. Should she tell him about this gossip? She remembered how Max punched Dr. Snow because he held her hand and made her uncomfortable. What will Max do if he finds out about this?
Liz looked at her half-eaten portion of salmon and realized that she lost her appetite. 
She wants to go home, and snuggle next to Max, and all the problems will go away. But she still has patients in the afternoon and Max is at work. It seems that snuggles will need to wait until after work. 
Liz remembered the 'cell phone usage guidelines' to text Max (aka her handsome boyfriend) whenever she thinks about him. However, Dr. Kaviraj is right there and it's embarrassing. 
But she really missed him and the cuddles and the peace which comes with it. Liz got her phone and typed under the table a message to 'My handsome boyfriend':
"I miss you. I look forward seeing you in the evening."

Max was confused. "Aren't you appalled by my words? Offended? Why are you still here and not running to your place?"
Liz shrugged. "Last night you promised no lies. And I hope that you are comfortable enough with me to say what is on your mind. No matter if you are gay or not, the fact that I feel safe with you will not change. Unless you do something to prove me wrong."
Max was surprised by this logic. But then he remembered the deal they made: he will not lie, no games and he will treat her with respect… and she believes him.
"You want to know what is on my mind?" He decided to try his luck: "I want to kiss you."
Liz frowned for a second while thinking how to respond. Then she craned her neck and pointed at her cheek. "Here."
Max was not sure if he should laugh or cry. "That is not the kiss I was going for."
"That is the only one you will get. Take it or leave it."
Max is not silly to miss an opportunity. "I will take whatever you are willing to give me."
