1/24/20 Buy a keyboard!!! I got my keyboard woot! #2 I am currently discussing with an acquaintance about various things about this book. One of the major things is that we fell that some chapters are too short. I will be combining some chapters making the total chapter will decrease. I am not splicing the stories together, but I am combining them. There will be a few words added here and there, maybe a paragraph or two depending on the outcome. if this is the case I will leave comments below for the following chapters and the changes. Currently, I am writing about 1k-1.5k words every chapter, I am going to bump that up for 2k-2.5k. As each volume is a rough draft please be patient and leave some comments if you think I can do better on some things. BIG NOTE I want to get better at fight scenes if you feel like I need to do something to make that better let me know! Chapter 10's fight scene most likely will change by the end of this. In-car traveling out of town. Plans for the upcoming book 2. I personally feel that book 1 is not done, so I will actually be concluding this as act 1, and start act 2. So book 1 will consist of 2 acts. For act 1 and the upcoming update/revise, all chapters will undergo my personal scrutiny, and change slightly along the way. Chapter 1 is a mini-chapter and will have a few more details added. Chapter 3 is a min -chapter and will have a few more details added. Chapter 5-6 is most likely going to be combined. Last we got, chapter 9, it will be cut in half and divided as two chapters.

As I said somewhere before each chapter feals short at 1k and I want to increase that to 2k. However, if I do that the quality I am aiming for will decrease so I will not be doing that, but what I did here. Each act will consist of 20 chapters and become combined, and altered at the end of each act. I want each book to consist of 20 chapters total and after the combination of edit days, the 20 chapters turn to 9-13 give or take.

As I said before I want the fight scene to be grand, I have thought about what I can add and took some personal notes.

I got a lot done yesterday so.

Hello! This chapter won't be the story it will just explain a lot about the story and other information.
First off, I am the only one working on Weltfeuer which means I have no one to edit, proofread, etc. Because I am working solo it will take me longer to post chapter because I will have to edit and make sure it is bearable to read. Not only is that an issue but because of work and family, I won't have much time to write. Because of those problems, I may only be able to post once or twice a week. I hate waiting long to read a single chapter from a web novel but I want to have quality over quantity and I believe you do as well so please bear with it. Moving on from releases; this is my first story in the war genre so don't expect much from the first few chapters. I also don't have much writing experience so I welcome any criticism so I can learn and get better.
Now the important information about the story. This story will be about the entirety of the world starting from the American Civil War (hopefully) to the end of the 20th century. Because I have the story going through almost 2 centuries of history I won't be able to have a human protagonist or antagonist, so I decided to have the story focus on large battles, events, the stories of people in the events/battles, and going into depth of what each side had, including guns, vehicles, generals, strategies, terrain advantages, and disadvantages and perhaps even more if I go full time on this. As mentioned before there will be no protagonist, which means I will focus on generals and leaders of nations but some leaders will most likely have more development and more time put into them but that doesn't mean they are immortal and will die. This entire story is a realistic war and politics novel, not a romance story, a supernatural story, and will feature gorey descriptions of war, realities of socialism and the brutalities of fascism, and the horrors of war. If you are under the age of 14 I would not suggest this to you.
Extra Information. Each chapter will most likely be 2000 - 4000 words long, depends on what happens in that chapter. If I am inaccurate with weapon names, power, politics, warfare, or anything else please correct me by commenting. I will edit my mistake as soon as I can. If there is anything you would like to add to the story such as a side story or extra information about a specific event, please message me or leave a comment. I may add a map showing the global terrain and borders with a map update every 10 chapters if this novel gets popular enough for me to put extra time into it.

Hi! For my QI readers, I realised that you didn't get to read how I started writing Spirit Immortal. So below is a short description of myself!


Background about myself and inspirations for writing Spirit Immortal
Currently, I am a university undergraduate, and I have been reading fiction for years. I first got into reading fiction because of anime. Initially, I was a pure anime/manga fan. But I then found out about the existence of light novels. Light novels were far ahead from the existing anime, so I started to binge read translated volumes on Baka-Tsuki. It became somewhat of a drug to me. I kept reading and eventually, fictions had become part of my daily life. However, everything changed when the Yen Press attacked… Suddenly, many of my favourite novels disappeared, and less and less light novel translations surfaced. 

Finding myself in a severe deficit of fictions to read, I found something called Novelupdates. Every few minutes, there was a new novel chapter being released. I was overjoyed. Finally, I was able to satisfy my daily fiction needs. That was how I got into wuxia/xianxia novels. Being ethnically Chinese and fluent in both English and Chinese, there was a great allure for me in these stories. When I was younger, I would frequently watch The Legend of the Condor Heroes and many what we call "wuxia xiaoshuo." So seeing that the traditional stories blend with modern themes was somewhat shocking to me. To think that such a part of the internet existed!

So I started reading a lot of wuxia/xianxia stories. I remember the early days of Coiling Dragon and Stellar Transformations. The friendly competition between Gravitytales and Wuxiaworld. But one day, I encountered Doulou Dalu. For those who have not noticed, Spirit Immortal's cultivation system is inspired by this very novel. The reason being, it was the only cultivation system that I could actually follow. It's a very simplistic system, rank 1-100. The other Wuxia novels cultivation systems confused the heck out of me. However, worry not, Spirit Immortal is not a fanfiction of Doulou Dalu. In fact, other than the cultivation levels, they are nothing alike.

For a while, Doulou Dalu was my favourite novel. To a certain extent, it still is my favourite translated wuxia/xianxia novel. But I started feeling bored. Every single book that I read followed the same format. And after many disappointing stories, I thought to myself… Hey, I could just write something I like!

Thus, the idea of Spirit Immortal started germinating in my mind. It took me over five months to finish plotting the major arcs, characters and finally the ending before I started typing my first word. Majority of the reason why it took so long for me to start writing this story is because of my procrastination and school. Additionally, I didn't know if the story was going to be well received. But eventually, I steeled my mind and said: "Whatever, as long as I am satisfied with the story, who cares?"

So yeah, currently the number one fan of Spirit Immortal is myself, and I can't wait to put the entire story I have in my head into words for all of you to read. It will take time though, so do stick around!


Issues I have had when writing Book Two
I have realised that many of you were unsatisfied with the pace of the story, saying that it is too slow and whatnot. And guess what, I agree! I have been putting the character and world development at the forefront of my story thus slowing down the story progression, However, fret not, now that the first two books are completed, the story progression would begin to expedite as I believe that I have sufficiently developed my characters!

I'm trying to be more descriptive in my writing but that is still a work in progress. Perhaps it would be the greatest hurdle for me but rest assured, I will try my best!

Another major issue I had was time management. I started writing Spirit Immortal during my semester break where I had plenty of time. I even managed to complete Book 1 during that break itself! However, once school started, I had to figure out a way to balance work, personal life and writing Spirit Immortal. There were some days where I only had three hours to efficiently write, proofread and edit my chapter before I deemed it ready to be published. Hence, there might be times where my writing quality dropped slightly but I'm trying my best to ensure that I retain and even improve on my writing quality, so please be patient with me on that one.


Future of Spirit Immortal
Once my semester break hits once more, I will be sitting myself down in order to write as many chapters as I can. Perhaps, eventually, I will take the road of creating a ******* account to allow you guys to read advance chapters and at the same time, give myself some funding to weather through the school days. 

So yeah, I can't thank you guys enough for continuing to stick with me as I continue to write Spirit Immortal. I hope that I will be able to deliver the satisfying fiction that I have conjured up and brought you as much enjoyment as I had in writing this story!

Over a million years ago, the first human contracted with the first Spirit. Ever since then, Spirit use has become commonplace. Humans used Spirits to carry items and start fires. Eventually, even start wars. Thousands upon thousands of years past and one day, one human did the impossible. He transcended his mortality and ascended to the realm above.  

In the present day, the Frie Clan was once a great clan of the Himmel empire. However, a devastating battle ten years ago crippled the clan and their numbers dwindled. To make up for their loss, the upper echelons decided to adopt young orphans and nurture them to become a future pillar of the weakened clan. Shin was one of those orphans. 

Although picked up by the Frie Clan, not all is smooth sailing for Shin and the other orphans...

Hello all!

Sorry for delaying angd long waiting. Many of you gave notices to the plot and I agree with you. The book was proofread and the were lots of changes. I've decided to reload the book from the beginning. 

Those who already read the book, you can miss the reloaded changes. I'll try to update it as fast as possible. 

 

My first glimpse of D&D started from Baldur's Gate more than 20 years ago. Very rare people knew about these games in Russia in 1990s. The first official D&D publication appeared only in 2006, 30 years after it came out in America. By the way, now I look forward to the new Forgotten Realms. 
Honestly, the first game I played was a poorly translated pirated copy. It was constantly keeping crashing on my outdated computer, but I was too fascinated to stop playing it. 
After Baldur's Gate 2 released, I'd managed to meet several like-minded people on the Internet. We made cards on the black-and-white printer and spent many exciting evenings playing the game. There were no more than 30 people in our entire city who were fond of D&D, but all my teenage memories of that period were good memories. 
In August 2006, D&D 3.5 rules were first officially published in Russian. We got a chance to play Neverwinters Night, Baal and received official collectibles. The fan community became huge. I played on the forums, in the icq and irc chats (does anyone still remember about them?). 
Around the same time, I was drafted into the army and was forced to abandon my passion for games. Having returned home and written a small series of books in the post-apocalypse genre, I resumed to my teenage hobby for board games. I devoted them all my time. 
Together with a 30,000 group of subscribers on a literary site, I decided to create a game book that would combine all my past knowledge with my current experience. According to the simplified free-to-use d20 rules, I asked a question at the end of each chapter and wrote the next chapter based on the voting results. For example, once my readers chose a completely unexpected hero class for me. As a result of the unexpected plot twist, I even had to change the book name. 
While facing an important event in the text, I threw a d4 dice for luck, and described the result, taking into account all the characteristics. Later I found out that this approach wasn't very popular with those readers who weren't very much interested in D&D games. However, if you are as big fan of the board role-playing games as me, then I'm sure you'll like the book. You will success in revealing all the secrets of this seemingly simple but multi-layered world.
