Everyone were stunned with the City Lord's speech. But after giving it a thought, they felt that City Lord was reasonable. Executing people based on just what you were told is not a right thing. One should not come to a conclusion without making a thorough investigation. When the crowd thought about their earlier actions which was immature, they felt embarassed.

Rick asked Arjun through mental connection, "Boss! What exactly the City Lord is trying to accomplish here?"

Arjun and Rick were sitting in the commoners place. Arjun replied, "I don't know."

"Did he see the recording crystal last night?" , Rick asked. His question has a trace of worry behind it.

"I don't know." , Arjun said, "He should have seen it by now. We took all the necessary precautions."

"But if something unexpected happened?" , Rick asked.

Arjun sighed and said, "If that is the case, then our family has to spend a little in the prison cell. But they won't die. I am sure about it. If City Lord wanted to klill them, then they would have been dead by now. He wouldn't have talked all this nonsense."

"Then why do you think he is doing all this rubbish?" , Rick asked a little disappointed with Ferlin's actions.

"We will know soon." , Arjun said, "Wait patiently and see."

The Pope of the Church of Deception frowned. This is something he did not expect. But the way the City Lord spoke, It made him think that the city Lord's deception is going towards the release of the captives. And this raised alarm in the City Lord's heart. His heartbeat started to get louder.

At that time The pope of the Church of war stood up and spoke, "My Lord! I think your reasoning is logical. One should not punish other person for committing no crime. And even if you suspects someone without having a concrete proof, then also you should not punish them. You may let hundred seniors go. That's nothing. But you should not punish even one innocent. If you punish even one innocent without any ironclad proof, then it is an unforgivable crime."

"That's right!" , Pope of the Church of Thief said, "I agree. You may pet hundred sinners go. But you should not let even a single innocent get punished. It's a grave sin which is totally unforgivable."

"That's right!" , Pope of the Church of Deception said, "But What if they are not truly innocent? What if they are truly the sinners?"

The other Popes frowned once again. The way things are going on with the Church of Deception is really strange. Their statement and their timing of arrival is truly making them believe that they had some kind of with the death of the son of the City Lord.

City Lord indifferently said, "There is only one way to know the truth. We cannot judge the truth based on a little information. I didn't ask all this week. So I'm going to ask the captives in front of all of you."

City lad then turned towards Jimmy and others and said, "If you have anything to say in your defence, please say it. Nobody will object you now."

Jimmy confidently came forward and spoke, "Thank you for your concern City Lord. Thank you very much for this opportunity you gave us to prove our innocence. And we won't let you down."

Jimmy took a deep breath and continued, "First of all, we didn't kill your son. Your son was killed by an arrow. That means the killer is an archer. We are the natives of a small and poor realm known as the Life Realm. We came here in order to move forward in the journey of cultivation. Because the spiritual energy in the Life Realm is so thin that you could consider yourself great if you reach the first origin stage. That's how horrible the situation in the Life Realm is. So we came to an agreement and we decided to go to a better place. We wanted to go to a place where cultivation is very suitable."

Jimmy continued, "But at the same time we know that we lack in the battle experience. So with the poor battle experience and at the same time with the weak cultivation base we know that we couldn't survive in the God Realm for long. So we cancelled the option for going to the God Realm. First we need a place where we can nurture our combat skills. So we chose to come to the War Realm."

Jimmy continued, "And when we came to the War Realm, it didn't even past 15 seconds before young master Feril approached us on his own. He started to ask us about our identity and our residence and stuff like that. And we told him honestly who we are. And we came from. We were having a nice conversation."

Jimmy became serious as he continued, "It didn't even pass one minute since we set our foot on the War Realm, and Young Master Feril was killed right in front of our eyes. But what was strange is, even one minute hasn't passed since young master's death and the great elder appeared out of nowhere. How coincidental, right?"

City Lord didn't speak. His facial expression was in different. No one could judge what exactly the City Lord was thinking.

But the Great Elder Jinx shouted, "So now you are trying to blame me? Young Master Feril's followers and friends themselves admitted that it was you people who killed Young Master. They are the best proof. And you are trying to shift the blame on me? How cunning?"

Jimmy smiled. He said, "Then tell me. When those Young Master's followers were trying to tell the truth why did you probe them? You use the name of the City Lord and installed fear within their heart. You have forced them deliberately to put the blame on us. And those panicked youngsters put the blame on us without having a second thought."

Jinx smirked. He said, "You're very good at making up bullshit stories. You say that I deliberately made them to shift the blame on you. If that is the case, then where is the proof? Show us the proof and then you speak."

Jimmy smiled and said, "You want proof? Fine then. I will show you the proof."

Jinx was stunned. But he didn't give it much thought. After all what kind of proof or seven days prisoner could provide against him? And that is also about the thing that happened on the day he was imprisoned. So jinx relaxed himself a bit. He knew that the situation hasn't gone out of the hands yet.

But then he found Jimmy take out a recording crystal from his pocket. Jinx started to feel nervous. Even though you knew that things might not go that weirdly, He still felt a little bit amount of fear.

With her heart set on dragging Qian Ge down with her to hell, Xie Siyao spoke every resounding word and sentence with power and decisiveness. There wasn't a moment of hesitation as her final sentence escaped her lips.
The expressions of shock and disbelief people originally showed upon finding out the truth behind Ji Yi's car accident turned to confusion and astonishment.
Qian Ge was one step too late from stopping Xie Siyao from revealing the truth, so she stopped in her tracks. After she heard Xie Siyao repeating what He Jichen said years ago, she felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over her head. All of a sudden, she was wide awake.

This was the pain she felt in the deepest part of her heart. When that man plunged the knife into her chest mercilessly, he gritted his teeth and said those words. What's more was that Xie Siyao actually revealed the pain in Qian Ge's heart in front of so many reporters and so many watching eyes!
Qian Ge had worked in showbiz for many years. Even though she was a little lost by the unexpected attack, after a while, she still managed to quickly gain her composure. Her brain quickly started to devise a plan.
Since Xie Siyao was determined to tear into her, she didn't need to worry about anything.
She couldn't just stand there and wait for death. There was s a good saying that "Words are no proof." Does she think she can just use her words to sentence me to death? She's definitely too naive!
Qian Ge snapped out of it. She pursed her lips and stared at Xie Siyao's cold gaze for a while then she said, "Xie Siyao, do you have proof?"
As she said this, she completely but slowly calmed down. "Even if I did something to wrong you and made you mad, you can't just accuse people without any proof!"
"You said I was the mastermind behind Ji Yi's car accident. Do you have proof? You can't drag me down with such a self-destructive method because you hate me. You can't just spew nonsense, right?"
With that, Qian Ge's gaze turned to the reporters in front of her. Even though she only had a bathrobe on, even if her face was swollen like crazy from Xie Siyao's beating, and even though she was sweaty from having sex with Chen Mingda, her composure and determination exuded from her body. "The story Xie Siyao just told everyone was brilliant, but I want to say that if the car accident really was orchestrated, then let me ask everyone - who would be willing to go to prison for drunk driving in return for a sum of money? You have to understand that it's prison! If someone really died, that would be a prison sentence of seven years. Seven... Have you all thought about what seven years in prison would be like? Haha, it's funny how death is depicted. It seems so peaceful and sad. Peaceful in a way that you are going to rest eternally. Sad in the fact that you are leaving everything behind, everyone you care about, all your worries and doubts.
I hope that there is an afterlife.
I may not believe in a God or Gods, or any supreme being but I would like to believe that there is life after death.
Not a heaven or hell, more like a purgatory. A place where you can be happy but still pay for your sins, because no one in this world is truly sinless.
Haha, that is morbid. 
Everyone in there life has done at least one wrong thing, whether they mean to or not.
If there is an afterlife then I hope to go there soon and leave everything behind.
Then again, I would be leaving EVERYTHING! Not just my worries and pain but all the happy things that could happen, all future relationships  and friendships that I could potentially have. I have to emphasise on the potential part of it. After all I ruin everything.

The end of all suffering, even for Jesus, who supposedly died at the cross to remove all our sins.
I dont mean to be rude by saying supposedly, I just mean that there is no proof of a God or Jesus actually removing sins. Not that you need proof, I just don't want to worship some amazing being and put all my faith and trust in the fact that God will help us all, and it is all his will. Only to find out that there is no God, and all the time that  I put my faith into him, thinking that he would help I could of helped myself and fixed my problems on my own. I honestly dont mean to be rude by saying that, it's just theoretical.
I find that you can pray for help all you like but the only thing that can truly help is yourself and the people around you, not some higher being.

I also dont want to believe that there is a God who is omnipotent and omniscient and meant to be all loving as well, who let's others suffer. Who allows death, who let's evil persist. I know there is evil because God gave us free will. But if he is all powerful why does he let serial killers hide, and live safely instead of being found and going to prison ti at least try to atone for their sins.
Haha, I'm sorry. I can counter every argument u have against God but I still cant believe in him. Then again why should i be sorry for not believing in one faith when there are multiple.
I have to admit I love history and I like learning about old beliefs and I'm sorry but throughout the history of peoples Gods, they all 'borrow' ideas from one another. 
If I am being entirely truthful I find most religions to be like a large cult. I know that is offensive and I apologise but everyone has the right to have thoughts and voice out their opinions.

It's a massive rant of things, all made up. Mini story's of tragic lives which I hope nobody has.
I thought that it would be better to change it to random stories of fictional people.

"What was your part in this murder?" Rhidoy asked Borenya.

"I had no part of this. I didn't even know he was planning it. My mistakes were that I allowed him to fool me and for keeping the truth from everyone." He looked down in shame. "I'm ashamed of it ever since."

Rhidoy wanted clearer answers. "You know he was the mastermind and yet you're saying now that you're not part of it? So what really happened?" 

"A day before Uncle Mithin's birthday, Rimas asked me to allow him to serve the food instead of Ninu. " He paused and sighed. "I was not really there on the birthday party because a boy went to my house that afternoon and told me that my store was on fire but it was only a small one when I arrived."

"You said before that someone else took over the serving from Rimas. Was that true?" Arup asked.

"I lied at that time. I used Rimas same alibi when I asked him after I learned of Uncle Mithin's death. I'm also at fault for not suspecting him at first." He massaged his forehead and blew some air. "I was actually running here and there, trying to help Ninu and his daughter, so I had no time to stop and to ponder about everything. It was only that one occasion that made me suspect him."

"When I was on my way to his house, I heard Rimas' fifth wife talking to herself and somewhat uneasy, as if she was afraid of something. So I asked her what's wrong but when she saw me, she panicked and blabbered about Rimas buying poison for the hogs attacking his farm, yet, there were no hogs. She didn't say more and ran away. From there, I started to suspect him. I confronted him right then and he told me the truth." 

Arup eyes were red in anger and wished to hit Borenya. "You keep the truth from us for what? You protected Ninu's daughter when she faced me ... because you were guilty." 

However, before Arup's hand flew, Rhidoy interrupted, stopping Arup's assault on the right time. He glanced at Rhidoy and lowered his fist. 

"What truth did Rimas told to you?" Rhidoy said, in deep thoughts.

"He told me that he sent someone to poison Uncle Mithin and his reasons, the one I told you earlier, all about Aadhila."

"But these are just your words," Rhidoy suddenly said.

"What do you mean?" Borenya and Arup asked all together.
 
"If you'll confront him now and send him to court, he can easily deny all these allegations since what you've got are nothing but word of mouth. You have no clear proof," Rhidoy added, shaking his head.

The shift of conversation calmed Arup a bit. "I can let my men snatch him and make him confess," Arup said.

"No, you must bring him to court to clean Ninu's name and to release Asha from your deal," Borenya said, insisting at Arup.

"What deal?" Rhidoy asked, looking at the two with a puzzled look.

So, Borenya told him of Arup's and Asha's deal of two years and the result of the orphans if she runs away.

"that's insane, you're making her do things she had no idea how to solve. You even made her suffer when she was a victim herself. Are you really that merciless?" Rhidoy angrily reprimanded Arup.

"I know, I realized it now," Arup said with lowered voice, massaging his nape.

"So the only way is to make him confess to the court but if he won't? You really need proof," Rhidoy said.

Then something came to Arup's mind. "Are you really telling the truth, Borenya?"

"I'm telling the truth," Borenya said.

"But you kept it for years? Why should I believe you now?"

"I kept it for years for my family's sake. Rimas is also my brother and I can't bring Ninu or Uncle Mithin back to life by telling. I thought that by helping Asha, we don't need to revisit this sin and everyone will forget it." Then his voice got louder as he lifted his finger on the face of Arup. "But you never stop, you won't leave us alone. So I gave in now because I don't want to lose Rhidoy Bhai's trust, for my son and family's sake, and for Ninu's daughter's sake. I want you to release her from your deal, for good. To let that poor child live peacefully."

Borenya's words annoyed Arup. The latter partly stood and also pointed a finger at the former. "This would not have happened if you said the truth earlier. So If you're really sincere then help me get proof to bring your badass brother to the gallows," Arup interjected with a louder voice than Borenya.

"Stop both of you. Listen well." Rhidoy said even louder than the two. He looked straight at the two's eyes and talked when he totally got their attention. Borenya and Arup sat back to their pillows obediently.

"You should plan it well. Abducting him won't be helpful. He could deny until death. As I can see, he strongly believes in life after death. Think about it, Rimas must have believed that he made good karma by sending Ninu to the gallows, who he thought committed a sin against your sister. Or he could only be thinking that he was only sending Ninu to be reunited with your sister, Aadhila. So, when he killed Shaheb Mithin, it was bad karma but he might conclude that he gained nothing and lose nothing. The good karma lessened or might have nullified the bad karma. So surely he'll rather die than tell the truth since his next life would be as normal as now[1]." Rhidoy said.

"Borenya, you must cooperate with me or I'll make sure you'll regret it even to the next life," Arup shouted.

Borenya kept his mouth closed, sitting still. He was fairly tired by now.

The setting of the story is India before its Independence in 1947. The exact timeline is 1945. However, in the first part of the story, I didn't use during the British occupation since the places/villages I mentioned do not exist in the present country. I used Bangla words since the culture is more on present Bangladesh. 

This is absolutely a fiction story.

Before Scarlet could finish her sentence, she was interrupted by a wave of Sophia's hand. She emotionlessly turned her gaze to Wang Zhong's face and began to speak. "Wang Zhong? I give you a chance to defend yourself. Otherwise, according to the Holy City's regulations, you will be sentenced to death."
Fighting was strictly prohibited on battlefield bases. Even fighting was a serious crime, not to mention murder.

Now that Hale was dead, he would take over the Oceanic Beasts and become its new captain. However, the team was huge, and not everyone would listen to him; he had to show a little power. Taking the official way to avenge Hale was the easiest way to get the support and approval of members in the Oceanic Beasts. This opportunity was a godsend. He was happy about Hale's death, but Wang Zhong, who had actually done him a favor, also had to die.

No one would want to offend the Oceanic Beasts for two newcomers without any background. Afternoon, the guild was back to its customary liveliness. Adventurers settled down, chugged their ale and started to brag about their dauntless adventure. It was the usual.

At this time, the well-kept wooden door swung open. A young man and a sweet fox-ear girl walked in, holding hands. That was obviously Emyrs and Alice. Arriving in front of the reception area, they were met with a loving smile from Anna. 

Anna: How did it go?

Emyrs: Pretty good.

Anna: Then could you hand over the proof of the monster parts so that I can administrate the completion of you quest.

Emyrs nodded.

He then took out a small leather bag that contained 10 pairs of goblin ears and 2 pairs of goblins warriors ears. 

Anna placed it over a table behind the room of the reception area. She opened it and poured out the content. She then inspected it roughly before heading back to Emrys and handed over 70 copper.

Anna: And about the inspection of the goblin mine?

Emyrs: There were more than 2 thousand goblins and a goblin king-

The lively chatter of the room died down into absolute silence. All eyes turned onto the speaker, Emyrs.

Anna: (shocked) A goblin king?! Are you sure it was a goblin king?

Emyrs: (nodded truthfully) I am certain that it was goblin king.

Anna: (In a daze for a short moment before returning back to reality) Wait for a moment, I'll go ahead and call the guild master.

Anna bolted up the stairs and went into the rightest part room on the 3rd floor of the "Adventure's guild". Slammed open the study, polished wooden door. A middle-aged man with an ocean blue hair and a pair of dark blue eyes, seemingly untroubled by the world, was sitting on a leathery chair reading a tattered obsolete book. 

On the front cover off the book was written 7 words, "How To Be The Best Guild Master".

Anna uttered everything to the guild master about the sighting of a goblin king from an adventurer. After listening the guild master couldn't sit still when such a disaster was nearby. He frowned, and his eyes turned serious. Shooting out of his seat, he rushed back to the reception area and dragged Emyrs into his office with a bewildered Alice following closely behind. 

The guild master sat down, lets out a sigh before glaring at Emyrs.

Guild master: (in a serious tone) Tell me truthfully, was the appearance of a goblin king the truth? You should know that this is not a joking matter.

Emyrs: (with a poker face) Yes, I had personally saw it.

Guild master: (looking at Emyrs poker face, his eyes twitched for a moment before continuing) Tell me in detail what you saw.

Emyrs then started to explain his journey of how he saw the goblin king in detail, of course he was partially economical with the truth, after all Emyrs didn't want his abilities to be exposed to strangers because he wanted to live an amusing life. A life full of different encounters. A life full of joy and sorrow. Not a life full of lies

Being too powerful and too famous would only lead to a life full of lies. A life where your trusted friends and co-workers would act kind to you in the surface, but it is after all just an act, they maybe plotting against you, it was especially true the more powerful and famous you are. Emyrs knew that no matter the world, no matter the place, greed will always be there and where greed is, corruption tends to follow. One day, that greed will fully consume their hearts and betrayal for more power would come.

Emyrs had seen many faces in his life. Even if he is still currently young, but as the only child of his father's big company, his father dragged him around to meet different kinds people and listened to their stories. Furthermore, Emyrs life was like a roller coaster going up and down. He was bullied as a child by his school mate but loved by his father college's sons and daughters. It was from this that he learnt the horrible truth of human society. As long as you have power and fame, people would put on their mask and starts to act kind and treats you with respect, but in the end,  it was just a mask, not their true nature. Who knows what they are thinking? 

However, Emyrs found out the truth the hard way. 

At the age of 10, Emyrs had already lost all hope about human society, he began trying to fit in, wearing the same mask that everyone wears, concealing his true feelings. 

At the age of 13, he began to wonder if there is any meaning to keep on living. 

A year later, a tragedy struck Emyrs, his parents were executed for committing a heavy crime, but Emyrs knew his parents would never had committed any crime. Thus, he began his search for clues

At the age of 17, Emyrs pieced all the clues together, but he couldn't believe it himself. The clues led to his parents death was caused by his father's most trusted colleague. His father's most trusted colleague sold himself to a rival company and betrayed his father's years of kindness and trusted placed in him. "That" man fabricated a crime for his father in court to remove his father from his position, Emyrs' father found that and fought back, but it was all for naught... 

Because the judge was bribed by the same rival company. 

In the end his father was sentenced to death, even his mother , who was not involved in this at all, was executed.

Emyrs still remember the moment when 6 strong men, wearing police uniforms, stormed though their door and dragged his reluctant mother to a large truck with large logo written "police" on it.

That moment carved and burned into Emyrs memory for eternity, a scar that would never be able to recover...

This was the cold hard truth off human society...

There was a wise old saying: "Man is the only animal whose desires increase as they are fed; the only animal that is never satisfied."

Getting back to the story...

After hearing the story from Emrys, the guild master was certain that it was a goblin king. 

Guild master: (realized something) But you said that there wasn't any hobgoblin with it, right?

Emyrs nodded.

Guild master: (knit his brows) That's weird... From all the past records goblin kings are usually accompanied by 50 to 300 hobgoblins, thus what you saw was probably something else...

Emyrs:(firmly) I have proof.

Guild master: Really?!

Emyrs then took out a small pouch and handed it over to the guild master. The guild master was dazed when he opened it.

Guild master: (exclaimed) Impossible - the ears of a goblin king! 

Even Anna jaws dropped when she heard what the guild master exclaimed. 

Guild master: Where did you get this from?

Emyrs: I killed it.

Guild master: You killed it?! 

Emyrs: Yeah, I killed it along with Alice. (Points to Alice, who was already by his side at this time)

Guild master: (speechless) ... 

Guild master: Even if you say that... it is just impossible for someone on your level to do that...

Emyrs: There are always exceptions. (Lets out a seemingly natural smile)

Guild master: (even more speechless) ...

Emyrs: You could always go ahead and check it if you don't trust me.

Guild master: I trust you. Afterall according to the guilds rules, as long as you bring back the specific parts of the monster as proof, it will be considered as your kill. Anna lifted her dropped jaw before nodding her head and leading Emrys and Alice out.

After half an hour later, Anna had finish updating their adventurer's card. 

Anna handed over two shinny copper cards to Emrys. Emyrs handed one of them to Alice and both of them said goodbye to Anna and left the "adventure's guild".

Moments after they left the "adventure's guild", Alice realises something...

Alice: (tugs Emyrs' shirt) Ne~ Ne~ Emyrs, I think they forgot to give us the reward for completing our last quest...

It was something that impressed and was admired by everyone, showing rather than hiding. 

But James Dean didn't reveal it to anyone. It was because of the Pentagon.

The First Hunter is a short Korean, action-fantasy novel situated in a post-apocalyptic world. Monsters start appearing out of nowhere and people are unlocking strange powers. Those who unlock such powers are called ‘Hunters’, ones with the strength to kill the monsters. To fight and survive, that is their goal. Society crumbles and the world burns.

A very fun novel that dives into the plot almost instantly. The novel is interesting in a way that it depicts a lot of human nature and what people would do in a situation such as this is quite an accurate manner. The character development is also very good as you get to learn about the characters, their backgrounds, and their stories. All in all, this is another novel I’d recommend to a lot of readers who are interested in reading fantasy and gaming novels.
