Hoi, and I'm sorry for not uploading a chapter in a while, but now that schools FINALLY OVER, I can put a little more dedication into it. So here's a list of everything I wanna go over, ranging from what I've been up too, what I'm going to be doing, and some exciting new things I have planned for the future [Please read everything, as it's all important(ish...)]

(1) Now that school and finals are over, I can dedicate more time to writing and coming up with new idea's for chapters. However, I will be taking a PE class over the summer. Not because I'm dumb and I need more credits or anything, but because I don't want to take a PE class during the school year. [Summer PE is just a lot of running, swimming, etc... School year PE has the dreaded thing known as dance... Seriously! Why the hell is it something our school requires all the kids to do!!!] This shouldn't get in the way of my writing all that much however due to the summer school class being PE

(2) I'm going to a friends house to play some d&d, so that'll be fun [they nerfed my characters armor class by 2. Why would they do that... Probably because I managed to scrape up a wopping 20 AC at level 1... The fun thing is that I did it legit as well..... Warforged Juggernaut OP.........]

(3) I absolutely WON'T drop this novel. However I will be taking a break from this story once it reaches 50 chapters (not counting the auxiliary...)

(4) I've been to busy reading other peoples novels or watching anime to write chapters... So I'm hoping that my brain can finally be at rest after binging railgun, railgun S, index I, II, and III, and the railgun and accelerator mangas... Also I can see why everyone loves accelerator now [A wild accelerator has appeared, accelerator is now enraged, accelerator used CHUCK A FREAKING SKYSCRAPER... It's super effective...]

(5) After effectively binging the whole magical index universe, along with having already finished binging mob psycho I and II before that. I've gone a little ESPer crazy (Tatsumaki from one punch man doesn't help by the way)... And I'm really excited to tell you guys about the new ESPer related story concept I've come up with for a new novel that I'm planning to write after this novel reaches 50 or more chapters (I'm already creating the characters, physics, and complex details of the world the story will take place in... And once I get all that stuff finished or close to finished, I'll start the story and post all that technical stuff about it in some informative chapters. The real story won't start tell I reach the 50 chapter mark here however

(6) I might make a discord channel dedicated to this story, and the new one I'm planning on making [The new story is actually serving as a good motivator to try and reach 50 chapters on this one...]

Originally, Hong Dali bought two aircraft carriers. If he transformed them well, they could become powerful weapons. "All right, Sir." Running Dog immediately agreed. "That's no problem—however, I will need to install another arm. One arm is not enough. It's hard to hold things steadily with one."
"Approved." Hong Dali snapped his fingers and said decisively, "That's settled, then. Wahahaha! Good friends, let's get ready to set off! Anyone has anything they forgot? If there's nothing, when my Chuyin's laboratory has arrived, we will set off!"

Hong Dali was waving at his classmates. "Brothers! The Bureau Chief has agreed to give us sports equipment! It should take no more than two days before we can play football on the carrier!"
Hong Dali's classmates cheered. "Brother Dali is the best! I have always wanted to play football on a carrier!

Finding him funny, Christina grinned and said, "It's okay. After all, there's only one prodigal like that in the whole world. I also came here after hearing about him. I did not think that I would be so lucky to become his friend so soon after arriving."
"Yeah, me too." Lucifer decided to just lie on the deck. Loud chatter dominated over the bustling streets of Yume Metropolis, a pinnacle city that resided at the centre of the world. It was a hot summer's day, and most of the residents should be lazing at home or mending their stalls under shade, but they had all congregated at the main road. Mothers brought their children out with milk bottle hanging from their belts while fathers held onto parasols to protect their families from the sun. It was odd for Yume Metropolis to have this many people standing in one place; however, none of the residents would want to miss this day that would go down in the record books.

Unlike the three Superpowers that held sovereignty over vast amounts of land, Yume Metropolis was a simple city-state that relied heavily on trade and merchants setting up stores in their territory. The Blacksmith's League and Mercenary Guild were some of their main patrons. Yume Metropolis was wealthy, but it lacked a core identity. Most of their residents were immigrants from the three superpowers or foreign workers that came seeking a better job. Few citizens were genuinely loyal to the thriving commercial hub, and its government was hoping to change that.

Therefore, when the news broke that a once in a lifetime genius had been born within their compounds, the government immediately moved to make the most of it. Propaganda leaflets were distributed about the prodigal girl who awakened her Spirit all on her own. They called her an embodiment of an Immortal and the one that would lead Yume Metropolis into a brighter tomorrow. The whole population immediately jumped on the bandwagon and started to praise her name.

At the age of five, Dream had awakened her Spirit without the help of a Shrine Maiden or the Day of Spirits. At the age of eight, she had promoted herself into the Spirit Apostle realm. Dream was now twelve-years-old, and her legacy was only just beginning. However, the top officials of Yume Metropolis wanted to strike while the iron was hot. They knew that the three superpowers would be tempted to poach the talent away. Hence, before any foreign power could influence Dream, they had given her a spot on their Grand Council. 

Though the appointment was mostly honorary, it was still a great privilege. How many had the opportunity to sit on the council, let alone a twelve-year-old girl? Basically, it was Yume Metropolis' method of telling the world: 'Dream is our Princess, you best not have any thoughts about approaching her.'

"Where is she" One spectator that had been standing under the sun for hours now, moaned in protest. "They said that the bestowment ceremony would take place at noon, but I don't see anything!"

Another peaked over the barricades and supplemented his friend's anguish: "There's nothing there… I'd thought that the young prodigy would parade down using a horse carriage… Were we mistaken?"

"No, that's what the Governor said! She should be arriving soon!" One loyalist interjected with her hollering shrill voice. 

The delay in the parade was causing quite a stir amongst the general public, which had taken time off their busy schedules to witness the youngest ever councillor take office. Many had queued up since the break of dawn, just to get the best seats in the house. Many wanted to catch a glimpse of the once in a lifetime genius, regardless of their class. Even paupers, with little to no money to their names, were rubbing shoulders with the elite among the densely-packed crowd. 

And among them… A black-haired and brown-eyed young boy stood silently. 

The boy was no more than ten-years-old. He wore sloppy garments, most of them reeking with a putrid stench. A torn beanie was all that he had to protect against the sun. His pearly white face had been utterly tanned by the sunburns he faced daily. Blisters and purple boils crisscrossed about his small and feeble hands. There were even numerous scars, possibly from the ill-treatment he'd received as he grew up. The boy was the literal definition of an impoverished orphan, one that had no one to care for him or protect him from the harsh world. 

But the boy's eyes lacked despair. Instead, there was a tinge of reverence and joy in those hazel-brown eyes. He was hopping around right at the barricade that protected the main road. Ever since the boy had heard the news about Dream's promotion, he'd set up camp right next to the path that Dream's Chariot would take. It meant that he's been out in the summer's heat for days now, weathering everything ailment that came his way, but that didn't matter to the boy.

The boy had no family. No one cared for his well-being, and the world could care less if he lived or died. No one would mourn his passing, and no one would shed a single tear if he disappeared. He was free to do whatever he wanted, even if it meant cooking himself under the hot summer sun. But the boy didn't mind. If he could meet his idol, the girl that was about to pass through this path. Everything would be worth it. 

See, Dream was an orphan as well. She had lost both her parents in a tragic accident when she was merely five-years-old. Some had theorised that the loss of her parents was what triggered her to awaken her Spirit, which was likely the case given the uncanny timing. However, even though her parents had passed on, Dream didn't fall into despair. She picked herself up and began to carve a heroic path onwards for herself. 

Today's bestowment ceremony was a crystallisation of all her efforts.

Dream's story was a beacon of hope for many orphans, particularly those that lived in Yume Metropolis. The boy was in a similar state. His parents had abandoned him the moment he was born. Raised in an orphanage for six years, the boy was forced to fend for himself when the orphanage ran out of money. He became a coolie, a porter, a beggar… Anything that gave him money and a chance to survive, the boy would take.

However… The boy longed to be free of this wretched life. He saw the accomplishments of Dream, a girl that was just three years older than himself, and saw her as a goal to work towards. She was an orphan just like him, but she had risen through the ranks to become a councillor for the nation. Her genius that would force adults to cry in shame, charm that would topple even the coldest of hearts, and the resilience to never give up… Dream was the embodiment of everything the boy sought out to be.

Therefore, the boy didn't mind waiting out in the sun, just to catch a glimpse of his idol. And fortunately… He didn't have to wait for much longer.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Chimes of the clocktower's bell rang endlessly, signifying the start of the parade. Hearing the chimes, thousands of men and women shuffled their feet forward and the ones at the front were squashed into the barricades. 

"She's coming!!!" A fanatic cheered. 

"We can finally see the once-in-a-lifetime genius with our own eyes!" Another was grinning from ear-to-ear.

Everyone was excited to witness the grandeur of Dream, the world's greatest genius. They'd only heard rumours about her exploits and most of their knowledge came from the propaganda leaflets that the government distributed. Was she the jaw-dropping beauty that possessed an ethereal charm? Was she really at the Spirit Core realm at twelve? Did she really have eyes that could pierce through a person's soul? The crowd couldn't wait to find out.

And neither could the boy. He had waited for days out in the blisteringly hot summer sun, just to reserve the best seat in the house. The boy lacked money, so he couldn't pay to be at the ceremony like most nobles did. The only thing the boy had was time and effort. Thus, to meet his idol, he didn't mind the suffering. He leaned over the barricade and saw shadow slowly approaching from the gates of the city. 

A radiant smile climbed up the face of the young boy. During this parade, there was only one vehicle that was permitted to ride down the cleared road… And that was Dream's Chariot. 

"She's really coming..." The boy muttered under his breath. The boy could feel numerous warm bodies pushing on his back, but he hardly cared. He already had the best seat in the house. His heart was racing a thousand miles per hour, and his face was entirely flushed. In just a few more minutes… He would finally meet his idol!

Alas…

"Move over, brat!" A rough force grabbed onto the boy's shoulder blade and dragged him away from the barricade. Feeling the world spin, the boy wasn't able to identify the perpetrator and could only fall helplessly on the floor. His vision quickly came back as he saw a well-dressed man, possibly a merchant, taking his place on the barricade. 

"S-sir? I was there first!" The boy stuttered as he pulled on the merchant's sleeves.

"..." The man didn't bother to look at him. He was too enamoured with the chariot that was slowly making its way to the town hall. 

The boy felt helpless. He was far shorter than anyone in the crowd and the fat, sweaty bodies that surrounded him made him dizzy. He needed fresh air, and more importantly, he wanted to see Dream. The boy desperately pulled on the man's sleeves, hoping to reclaim just the slightest bit of space. "S-sir! I can't see the parade! Sir?! SIR?!" 

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU BEGGAR!" The merchant slapped the boy with one backhand swing, and he was sent flying back to the floor once again. "What good would it be if you saw Dream? You don't deserve it! Just grovel on the floor like the mongrel you are..."

At this point, the boy's vision turned utterly blurry. He was already malnourished and feeble from the summer's sun. Adding in the physical damage that the merchant had delivered onto him, the boy was in no condition to struggle anymore.

Ding… Ding… Ding…

The deafening clocktower bells continued to chime. No one came to the boy's aid as they were still wholly focused on the parade. No, even without the parade, who would save a dirty orphan child whose days were already numbered? All they cared about... was themselves. 

Ding… Ding… Ding…

The yammering of the crowd turned softer and softer as all the boy could hear were the sweet sonorous bells. No, there was one other sound that he could hear. 

Clop… Clop… Clop…

The trotting of the horses pulling the chariot became louder with every passing second. Soon, Dream would pass by, and the one chance that the boy had to see the girl… would be gone forever. 

'I… don't deserve to see her? I will never be able to see Dream?' 

That very thought pierced the boy to the core. For someone who idolised Dream, the hero of all orphans and champion of the weak… That thought was something the boy feared more than death. 

'No… I will see her!'

Mustering up all of his strength, the boy rose from the ground. He could feel his bones creak, and his muscles were aching all over. Just standing was painful enough, but the boy did something more. He lunged at the merchant who took his spot and grabbed onto his thigh like a koala bear.

"What the-? You fucking brat!!!" Incensed, the well-dressed man shook his leg in an attempt to shake the dirty beggar off. "HOW DARE YOU?! These clothes are worth more than your worthless life, you maggot!"

The boy didn't hear the merchant's cry. Instead, he pushed his arms forward, hoping to claw his way back onto the barricade. By the sound of the horse cloves, Dream should be passing by any moment now. The boy could deal with the aftermath later, the most important thing was to catch a glimpse of Dream before it was too late.

However, that would not come to pass…

The boy was far too weak to resist a fully-grown man's strength, and his face was planted onto the stone ground. Angered, the merchant mercilessly stomped on the boy. "How fucking dare you! You're just a beggar! A FUCKING BEGGAR! Know your place!"

Curled up into a ball, the boy could only endure the brutal attacks of the merchant, be it verbal or physical. At this point, the trotting could no longer be heard, and the sounds of people chattering came into his ears. It looks like… the boy had missed his opportunity. Dream's chariot had passed them by and would soon reach town hall, where the boy would never get a chance to see his idol ever again.

'What… What did I do to deserve this?' The boy cried mentally. His parents had abandoned him, his orphanage had run out of money to rear him, he was forced to work low-paying jobs with no way of escape… He did all he could to be a good citizen, and all he asked for was a glimpse of Dream? Why did society not grant him that wish?! 

The boy couldn't hold back his tears. 'Ah… Is this what life is? Me suffering… every… single… day?'

All the boy wanted… was to see Dream once. All he wanted… was… a dream…

"Hey! Hey!" At that moment, the boy's muddied ears began to clear. He could hear loud chatter all around him. Light came back to his darkened mind, and he could feel his strength rapidly increasing. The boy's five senses were slowly coming back online and were stunned by the first thing he saw. 

White hair with crystal white eyes. A pure angel descended from the heavens a sent to cure the ailments of the common man. That was the boy's first impression of the girl that rescued him. Her emotions weren't all that hidden on her innocent face. Bubbly yet mature, the girl made the boy's heart race.

"Don't worry! I've dealt with the bad man that was kicking you," the angel smiled.

"A-Ah..." The boy could only form random sounds. At the side, two guards were pulling the merchant that attacked him just moments prior, and the entire crowds' eyes were glued onto the boy. However, he saw nothing of that. The boy only saw the gorgeous beauty that was the white-haired girl.

"What's your name?"

The boy stalled for a moment. The young girl who he had heard legends about… was offering her hand out to him. She didn't mind the dirt and filth that tainted his entire body and was actively trying to touch him.

"Akumu..." The boy weakly replied.

"Akumu? That's a nice name! My name's Dream!" Pulling onto Akumu's hand, Dream lifted the ragged boy onto his feet. Applying a simple fix to his clothes, the girl beamed once more. Akumu felt his entire soul being healed with that one smile, and a warm fuzzy sensation crept up his chest. 

"Nice to meet you!"

That was the beginning… of the Allfather's and Spirit Immortal Dream's story...

It was a cold winter. Snow fell in the north.
Aided by the money and food Jiang Pengji had provided, An Cui's mission of bringing members of the Red Lotus Group over to his side was going very smoothly.
An Cui was a smart man. He didn't let his guard down around even the lower-ranking members of the Red Lotus Group. He didn't pick out anyone whose position was prominent. Instead, he chose only those who would be of use but also be inconspicuous and relatively reliable. Soon, he had swayed hundreds of people.
Meanwhile, Jiang Pengji focused on three tasks for the winter.
Recruiting talent, recruiting troops, and the training of troops.
The first task was left to Feng Jin and Wei Ci. The former was familiar with the situation in Shangyang County, whereas the latter had a structured and organized working style and was cunning enough to succeed.
With those two cooperating, Jiang Pengji was not worried about talent rising to take the bait.
The second task was left to Feng Zhen. Jiang Pengji had just taken over Shangyang County. By doing so, her territory had sudden expanded to twice its size. She was different.
Her troops were trained for three months in the winter and three months in the summer. They even had to work in the fields during the spring plowing and autumn harvesting seasons. Furthermore, the daily training sessions never stopped.
Based on what Feng Zhen knew, each of the 20,000 troops under Jiang Pengji must go through a tough training period before setting foot on the battlefield.
In Jiang Pengji's words, troops that had not been trained harshly could not be considered troops. Troops that didn't meet her criteria were more suited to going back home to suckle milk from their mother's breasts than to set foot on the battlefield. Troops like that would be cannon fodder if they ever set foot on the battlefield. They would just sacrifice their lives for nothing.
Jiang Pengji had certain standards when it came to recruiting troops, and not everyone could join.

The successful recruitment of more than 1,000 people was due to the fact that many families sent their daughters to the army, albeit not fully believing what the government said about female soldiers. Still, they considered their daughters to be money-losing goods that they couldn't afford to keep.
On the other hand, the recruitment of male soldiers had gone smoothly. The total number of recruited men reached 8,000.
"Nice one there, Zishi, your capabilities are impressive. You recruited that many people so soon?" Jiang Pengji was surprised.
Feng Zhen smiled resignedly. He admitted that he was fairly capable, but he dared not take full credit for the task this time around. "My lord, you are overstating it. Surely the success of the recruitment process is not a result of my capabilities alone. It's clearly because you are too generous and the conditions being offered are too good."
Although Shangyang County had not been conquered by the Tsing Yi Army or the Red Lotus Group, they had been besieged for a long time. The 200-word notice spent 160 words on the recipes. The requirements to participate in the recruitment drive only took up the remaining 40 words.

Jiang Pengji kept to her goals of recruiting and training troops and did nothing that went against the interests of the nobles of Shangyang County.

Since the end of the year was near, Jiang Pengji was doing some year-end checks when a messenger reported that the nominal county chief of Shangyang County was here to visit her.
She thought of the date. It wasn't time to pay New Year's calls yet, was it?
"Invite him in," said Jiang Pengji.

Present time

I was busy looking at the familiar but beautiful scenery in front of me. The sound of waves and the setting sun keeps on giving me a peaceful feeling but melancholic inside. I am wearing a simple buttoned white polo and I left the first three buttons open. I paired it with simple brown shorts. I just got here in Batangas two hours ago and left my baggage inside the cottage prepared by our band's personal secretary. 

I miss this place so much. 

This beautiful place was called Isla Minerva and this is my favorite paradise. I am surprised that after being commercialized, the glow and beauty of this place are still the same. I think I would give a good review of this place when I meet Gio later. Gio, the owner of this place, was my college friend at De Vera University in Manila. He invited me and the band I am managing to sing to his own wedding. 

I actually don't have any problem with that but this place... it just gives me painful memories. It's been so long since I want back to this place. 

"Sir, Summer Solstice has just arrived here in Isla Minerva. You were scheduled to have a dinner meeting with them by seven o'clock. But they came late. Will you proceed as scheduled?" A familiar voice asked me from behind. I immediately stopped thinking and glanced my way to Miss Benitez, our secretary.  

"All right and tell them to do not to be late this time. I've waited for them for too long. I would like to know what kept them busy to be late when I have given them an entire day yesterday and today to prepare in coming here," I said irritated to Miss Benitez that seems scared to me. 

She was just new in this industry and I have never been too good to her actually. I mean, to no one. I don't put emotions at work. So as long as your good at your job, I will not change. But I will not be too nice either. Maybe that's the reason why the employees can't stay for too long to work. 

Good thing our talent agency has a good amount of salary and benefits that's why we can still get some employees. I know that Ola's Entertainment, my company, can keep up the track even I am a grumpy and perfectionist boss. We have a good set of talents to brag. 

"Noted Sir," she said and immediately left me to probably talk to the boys since it's already quarter to seven in the evening. 

Now, I was about to go back to my cottage to prepare for dinner when I noticed a weird looking woman in front of my door. She has this grey colored pixie hair. She was wearing a loose white t-shirt tucked inside his navy blue shorts. Her built seems familiar to me. 

I walked slowly toward her to get a good look on her face since she was facing my door. 

'Is she one of Gio's staff?' I said to myself. 

I was about to get close to her when I heard her talk that made my heart skipped a beat.  

"What's wrong with this key?! I badly want to come inside!" the woman said.

I  stopped walking and took a good look at her figure. 

'Is that you Summer?' I asked myself nervously. Then I checked my pocket to see if my room key was still there. I was right. 

"What's wrong with you?!" she shouted on my door like it's a real living thing. She seems so irritated and sat down in front of my door for a second. 

I can't stop watching her because I fear that she might just suddenly vanished... again without me knowing.

She stood up and raised his right foot like she will break my door that helped me go back to my senses. 

"Stop right there," I softly said. I can't breathe.

Then the woman stopped because of my presence. After that she glanced my way and in a matter of seconds, her eyes grew wide and her mouth slightly open. I tried to act cool even I really want to hold her right now. 

I walk towards her and some buried memories kept coming back. 

'How I miss you, Summer.'  I wanted to tell her. But instead, I said, "That's my room, Casa Diana A. What's your room number?" 

She looked away with me and glanced at the top of the door, checking if that was really Casa Diana A. Then, she bit her lip in embarrassment. 

"I am sorry. I think I got the wrong room. If you'll excuse me," she immediately said to me without looking at me. Then she got her black cap on the floor and wear it.

She walked pass at me but I grab her right arm, and madly said, " Where have you been all this time Summer?"

Harry stared sightless out the train's window, barely noticing the passing landscape. He was still struggling to accept how everything was returning to normal. With the war over and the ministry encouraging Hogwarts' students to go back to school, everything was becoming routine again. The now eighth years were heading back to finish their classes and NEWTS, Hogwarts had been repaired over the summer (with the very expensive help of Gringots' architectural team) and a new batch of first years were on board. 

He could hear a few of them giggling loudly in the next compartment, probably laughing at the newest 'Cracks of Hogwarts' issue. Fred barely survived the battle of Hogwarts with the help of George but absolutely hated being bed ridden. The pair had almost immediately started publishing funny stories and memories of their oh-so-famous school. Even going so far as to have interviews at Fred's room at St. Mungo's, much to the annoyance of his nurses.

But Harry felt empty. He'd managed to survive the battle, communed with oh-so-wonderful Dumbledore, who of course had more cryptic advice before crossing the veil, and defeated that monster of a man. He'd also learned the truth about Snape and realized with cutting clarity that he'd always hoped Snape was better than everyone seemed to want to believe. Yet his relief and joy were immediately crushed as he and Hermione struggled to cover his ripped out throat. There was so much blood. He was forced to watch as the Professor that he'd simultaneously hated and respected bled out all over the boathouse floor. He was forced to get up with Hermione's urging and go back to the fight because Voldemort was still killing and the others needed him.

After the battle though, he mourned. Of course he mourned for his friends, for members of the Order and Dumbledore's Army who sacrificed themselves for a better future. But he also mourned for himself and the boy he was that never had a chance to really enjoy childhood as well as for the feelings he was just now realizing were more than respect for the man who loved his mother. 

It was fucked up and he knew he should probably talk to someone but he couldn't, not yet. He'd only now gotten the chance to explore himself and his feelings without the weight of the world on his shoulders and he just wanted to keep these feelings to himself, just a little longer. Cradle such innocent emotions close to his heart, even if they hurt and made reality that much bleaker.

Hermione sat across from him, also staring out the window with one of her review books in her lap. She'd calmed a lot over the summer. Settling into a mature grace that spoke of wisdom beyond intelligence. Ron was next to her, slumped on her shoulder and snoring lightly. At least he wasn't drooling this time. They'd apparently talked over the summer and decided to tentatively date as they weren't sure how things or themselves might change now that the war was over. Harry was proud of them, especially Ron, for taking a step back and being brave enough to discuss their relationship. It might help them remain friends, even if things don't work out.

"Harry."

Hermione was looking at him now, her brows arched in that look of sympathy he'd seen all to often over the past few weeks, "We're almost there, are you ready? We should get our robes on."

She probably meant more than if he was simply ready to go, but like every other time she'd given him that knowing look over the summer, he pretended he didn't notice. She'd been there when Snape died, she was there when it was announced that the nurses couldn't find his body and escaped Death Eaters had probably taken the body of the traitor to desecrate it like it was discovered had been done to Karkaroff earlier in the war. She'd been there when the Ministry announced his award for his efforts in the war and cleared his name as a spy. Hermione was even there while he was mourning at Grimmould Place and she probably knew a lot more than he was letting on. But he couldn't talk about it. Not yet and not right before he was supposed to be walking those halls again.

In the conference room, what Dai Li had done attracted everyone's attention.
As a newcomer, it was normal to attract more attention when he was unfamiliar to the place. And in those days, Dai Li had been busy with the training plans. Everyone knew that this was a test that Zhizhong Gu had set for Dai Li.
"It's a month that Coach Gu gave Dai Li, right? Now it has been only one week. How come Dai Li has already handed in the training plans?"
"One week's time is only enough to make seven or eight training plans. It's far from seventy-eight."
"I think Dai Li wants to make several training plans for Coach Gu's review, so that Coach Gu may give him some comments. This may be a probe to see the evaluation standards of Coach Li. When he figures out Coach Gu's criteria, he may have a better gauge for the next training plans he is to make."
"That makes sense. He is quite smart as a newcomer. He knows how to figure things out with this method."
The coaches were discussing the matter in low voices.
Zhizhong Gu smiled. He also believed that Dai Li could not make many training plans in just one week's time, and so he was handing out these "homeworks" to feel him out.
"It has been only one week. You don't need to hurry." Zhizhong Gu took the file box. Yet the next moment, he sensed how heavy the file box was, so much so that it almost fell out of his hand.
"It's so heavy! The file box is full!" Zhizhong Gu was surprised, and then he opened the box.
As Zhizhong Gu expected, the box was full of documents printed on A4 papers.
"There are so many files!" Zhizhong Gu was shocked by the quantity of the papers and asked, "Li, how many training plans are there in this box?"
"Seventy-eight," Dai Li confidently said. "We have seventy-eight people in our team. One for each one of them, so there are seventy-eight training plans."
Zhizhong Gu looked at Dai Li with a confused stare. Although Dai Li appeared confident, Zhizhong Gu still could not believe what he had heard.
Not only Zhizhong Gu, but the several coaches there also all showed their suspicions on their faces, when they heard what Dai Li said.
"Seventy-eight training plans in one week? Is something wrong with my ears?"
"How is this possible?! No way can make so many training plans in just one week's time."
"Is he fooling us? Or are all the training plans about the same, that they can be finished in one week?"
"Does this newcomer think that he can drift along aimlessly in the national team? He cannot just scrape together some training plans and hand them in."
Everyone was guessing their theories, and Zhizhong Gu became serious. He also believed that Dai Li was totally meddling with his work, to hand in his "homework" so soon.
"Have I gotten it wrong this time? Is this Dai Li really an incompetent fool?" Zhizhong Gu was full of doubt in his heart. He didn't say anything, when feeling the weight of the file box. But in his mind, he determined that he would dispatch Dai Li to team two.
With the file box, Zhizhong Gu returned to his office. He then dialed the number of Feihong Liu, the head coach of team two.
"Feihong, stay for a while after work. Come by my office." Zhizhong Gu then said," the newcomer, Dai Li, will have to stay in your team. Teach him some lessons for me."
"Ok. I'll get there in one minute." Feihong Liu, on the other side of the phone, then said, "I heard that, in the meeting, Dai Li gave you seventy-eight training plans. Hehe, is this Dai Li a fool, or is he just pretending to be one? Or did he not get your point at all?"
"Who knows?" Zhizhong Gu shook his head helplessly. "I thought this young guy was quite smart. I didn't expect that he was such a fool! Let him stay in your team first. You teach him, and see if he is teachable or not. If he is too stupid to learn his lessons, get him out of here as soon as possible."
Zhizhong Gu finished and put down the phone, staring at the file box. Then, Zhizhong Gu heaved a long sigh, before taking up the file box and looking through the first training plan.
"Oh? It's not so bad. The advantages and weaknesses of the athlete were clearly analyzed. The training plan was detailed and specific. It had obviously been made with quite some effort." The frown on his face eased a little.
"Maybe it had been arranged on top purposefully, as the first one I'd read, to fool me. This is the first one after all. It has to be carefully made to be good. When I was at school, I used to put the well-written homework at the first," Zhizhong Gu thought these things to himself, as he flipped open the second training plan.
In the second training plan, the advantages and weaknesses of the athlete were also analyzed. A detailed training plan was then listed accordingly. The insiders could see, at the first glance, that it was well-made with a lot of effort.
"This one is also very good and well-targeted. It's not a simple copy of the first one. This is also arranged as one of the best ones."
Zhizhong Gu took up the third training plan immediately.
"This one is also good! This Dai Li is quite competent. He has sharp eyes for observation, and his analysis of the advantages and weaknesses of the athletes was dead on. The training plan is also very much to the point. If I were to have made this, I could not do any better than this." Zhizhong Gu couldn't help but rate the first three training plans as "A".
Zhizhong Gu surely could see that those three training plans were carefully written with a lot of effort. The training plans were of very high quality, and could each be put into use directly.
"It's just hard to tell how many of these training plans are of high quality, like this. Maybe Dai Li thought I would just look through the first ones. Maybe this young man is somewhat competent, but he should not play such tricks."
Zhizhong Gu still thought that Dai Li must be "fooling around" to hand in 78 training plans in such a short time. He must have had written the first several ones carefully, and scraped together the later ones.
This might be called the mentality of "summer holiday homework". The students used to do the first few pages carefully, for their teachers to review, but for the pages that followed, they would do it casually, just to simply make do. There was so much homework for the summer holiday, that the teacher couldn't possibly review every page of it.
Zhizhong Gu took out the fourth one. It was also perfect.
Then the fifth, the six, and the seventh…
Before he realized it, Zhizhong Gu had finished reading ten of the training plans. Every one of them was written according to the characteristics of the athlete. It was difficult to find anything wrong with them, even for Zhizhong Gu.
"Ten? It has been only one week! He can write ten training plans in one week. And the quality of them are so high. He may really be able to finish forty training plans in a month!"
Thinking of this, Zhizhong Gu suddenly felt a shock. Although he still believed Dai Li was fooling around, he thought Dai Li should be good enough to stay in team one, simply by the merits of having made these ten excellent training plans.
This was out of Zhizhong Gu's expectation. He took up the eleventh training plan.
"It's perfect! He made eleven training plans in one week?"
Eleven perfect training plans! This had exceeded Zhizhong Gu's expectation of Dai Li. He couldn't help but remember Dai Li's expression of full confidence when he handed in the file box. Zhizhong Gu suddenly thought of a circumstance of possibility.
"Seventy-eight training plans? Impossible! It cannot be done in one week! There must be bad ones in the pile!" Zhizhong Gu couldn't believe it. But he dared not look at the twelfth training plan.
After hesitating for several seconds, he finally took up the twelfth.
"The twelfth one is also good! I cannot believe it!" Zhizhong Gu's expression suddenly turned ferocious. He didn't continue with the thirteenth training plan, but instead, pulled one copy of A4 paper from the middle of the pile.
"This one is from the middle of the pile. I'll see if it is also without any problems!"


How could a poor graduate student without any background or connections become successful? With a coaching system? An upgrade? This is not a computer game, but real life we’re talking about!
