They always chat with each other, until Ramon considered Mang Rufo as his father, not because he liked Mang Rufo's daughter, Bella, but because he felt of having a good father of his own, that advises on his problem, as well as of hearing counsels he had never experienced in his life.

"Mang Rufo, you are very lucky to have a daughter like Bella aside from her being a beautiful woman, but also of her being mindful,"  Ramon said to praise her daughter.

"Yes she is, that's why I'm here in prison because of her", said Mang Rufo.

"But, why Mang Rufo?"

It was at this point, Bella answered his question. She confesses to Ramon that she is a single mother, with a three-year-old son, as a result of her being raped. The man who raped her was killed by his father and he was sentenced for murder.

What Ramon has learned from Bella's experience is not a hindrance to love her even more for her being truthful and courage to go on with her life.

And time has come to Ramon, to be released in prison. And a tearful goodbye between him and Mang Rufo, who had an unforgettable experience inside the prison.

"Goodluck Ramon, I'm happy for you," said Mang Rufo, then Ramon hugs Mang Rufo.

"Thank you, Mang Rufo,"

The thing that Ramon has treated Mang Rufo as his friend and a father like to him, never will he forget it.

"Ramon be good to my daughter", the plea of Mang Rufo.

"I promise and swear to be good, to her Mang Rufo."

"Bella, take care of yourself and be good to Ramon."

"Yes, Papa and from time to time, we will visit you, take care of yourself, Papa."

Year, 1995 February 14, Ramon and Bella got married, officiated by the City Mayor.

So, after the wedding and a couple of months, Ramon and Bella live happily and had a wonderful time together."

"You know Bella, I am proud of having you as my wife, and I promise I will love you forever."

"And so do I, Ramon I will love you for the rest of my life." 

Bella's son approaches the two.

"Tito Ramon, I have no classes tomorrow, let's go to Carnival", said Rico

"Yes, Rico, we'll go around the carnival tomorrow", replied Ramon to Rico, and he hugs Rico.

Ramon was kind to his family. He loved Bella very much. He played the role of a good father in his family and a good husband to Bella.

One night when Rico asleep, Ramon and Bella went outside the house and sat there and watched the glittering stars.

"Bella look at the glittering stars, so beautiful, don't you?", Ramon has said to Bella with a smile as if it's a sign of farewell, a smile that something will happen, but he doesn't know.

"Yes, Ramon, glittering stars as if we are those stars. Whenever there are misfortunes in life, always there is a chance, like stars, a chance for happiness in life", said Bella saw in her face of future happiness.

"What you have said was true. I have experienced many trials in my life, since from my childhood, and I thought that my life would never change, that there would be no happiness in life. But now you came into my life and gave me so much happiness and hope", Ramon said passionately.

Ramon has something else to say, but from the dark part of the surroundings, someone has pulled a trigger and shots Ramon.

BANG! BANG! (sounds of gunshots)

Ramon was shot by a man he had fought, for a long time, and when he saw Ramon sitting outside the house, a chance for him took his revenge.
Bella was shocked by the incident and was crying out for help.

"Please help us, let's bring my husband to the Hospital", Bella cries for help.

Bella's neighbors arrive and would help get Ramon to the Hospital but dying Ramon rebuked them saying no need. He wants to stay for a short time with his family until his last breath.

Bella hugs the bloody husband and continues crying.

"B-Bella t-this is my d-destiny, our r-relationship will not last long but r-remember that I love you v-very m-much. L-look at the s-stars, that's how w-we exist, t-they are h-happy at n-night, g-glittering but in the m-morning t-they are s-slowly d-disappearing, t-take care of y-yourself, t-take care of R-Rico...G-Goodbye and..... "

Ramon still had something to say, but his breath was gone, while Bella continued to cry aloud as she held her husband.

It is sad to think that the would-be chance of Ramon's path of life to have changed with his family, death took him.

Is this what we call DESTINY? For Ramon, it is sad, very very sad.
