Causing immediate excitement among Mrs. Bennet and her five daughters, Mr. Bingley, a wealthy young gentleman, has rented a nearby country estate, Netherfield. He arrives in town accompanied by his fashionable sister and his good friend, Mr. Darcy. While Bingley is well-received in the community, Darcy begins his acquaintance with smug condescension and proud distaste for all the “country” people. Bingley and Jane Bennet begin to grow close despite Mrs. Bennet’s embarrassing interference and the opposition of Bingley’s sister, who considers Jane socially inferior. Elizabeth is stung by Darcy’s haughty rejection of her at a local dance and decides to match his coldness with her own wit.

Elizabeth begins a friendship with Mr. Wickham, a militia officer who has a history with Darcy. Wickham claims that Darcy seriously mistreated him. Elizabeth immediately seizes upon this information as another reason to hate Darcy. Ironically, but unbeknownst to her, Darcy finds himself gradually drawn to Elizabeth.
Just as Bingley appears to be on the point of proposing marriage to Jane, he moves away from Netherfield, leaving Jane confused and upset. Elizabeth is convinced that Bingley’s sister has conspired with Darcy to separate Jane and Bingley.

Mr. Collins, a distant relative of the Bennets, makes an unexpected visit. He is a recently ordained clergyman employed by the wealthy Lady Catherine de Bourgh. On his way to visit his patron, Collins makes a visit, intending to find a wife from among the Bennet sisters. At first, he pursues Jane; however, when Mrs. Bennet mentions she is involved with Mr. Bingley, he turns to Elizabeth. He soon proposes marriage to Elizabeth, who refuses him, much to her mother’s distress. Collins quickly recovers and proposes to Elizabeth’s close friend, Charlotte Lucas, who immediately accepts him. Their marriage takes place soon after.

In the spring, Elizabeth joins Charlotte and Mr. Collins at his parish in Kent. The parish is adjacent to Rosings Park, the grand manor of Mr. Darcy’s aunt, Lady Catherine de Bourgh, where Elizabeth is frequently invited. While calling on Lady Catherine, Mr. Darcy encounters Elizabeth. She discovers from Darcy’s cousin that it was he who separated Bingley and Jane, as she suspected. Soon after, Darcy admits his love of Elizabeth and proposes to her. Elizabeth refuses him. When he asks why she should refuse him, she confronts him with his sabotage of Bingley’s relationship with Jane and his history with Wickham. Darcy responds with a long letter justifying his actions.

Thus, everything is set up to bring to conclusion the various love affairs—happily, or perhaps unhappily. Whatever the various resolutions, Darcy, Bingley, Jane, Elizabeth, as well as others, will need to overcome their pride and prejudices if they are to find love in the midst of these uncertain and complex relationships.

Trisha came to look for me. When we reached the entrance of the campus Avika and Riya were already waiting. We had a joyous and stress-free day outside. As we had some delicious snacks and lovely desserts it felt bliss to us. Since we ate distasteful food for so long our tongues were robbed of the taste buds.
After trying out various outfits Riya and Avika selected a few. 

It was 5 in the evening when we came back. Sun has yet to set. After resting for a few minutes I turned to ask Avi about hitting the gym as we had lots of desserts today and didn't go in the morning. But as I approached her she was in a deep sleep. I tucked her in the light blanket and she snuggled to it with a content smile. 

Smiling I wore my activewear and sports shoes. As Avika wasn't with me I decided to run. Attaching my earphones I began to run. Music blasted in and my mood uplifted. There were many people in the garden. Players practising their games, girls chatting around, couples sitting quietly gazing the horizon or exchanging sweet promises while the sun was going to set. I decided to sit quietly in some place after running two laps.

After 15 minutes I completed my workout and sat in a good place to admire the sunset. Looking at the serenity of the scene I thought of a few words, not that good but apt for my mood and scene.

"Everyday when a day ends
It feels so relaxing to me
Every emotion blends
Sometimes merry sometimes gloomy
Sunset is beautiful
As it marks that the day is finally ending"

I sat there thinking nothing. Just staring at the sunset and breathing deeply. Sort of meditation. Sun sat at last. Sky still contained few hues before turning all dark. Breathing for the last few times, it was the time to get up. 

"Hey, are you okay?"

I jumped in surprise with a sudden sound. I noticed it was Avika. I thought that if it would be a movie it was the perfect time when Mr.President shows up. These coincidences often happen between the lead actors. Not that I was thinking we were the main leads.

"Yeah, just enjoying my quality time. You woke up sleepy head?" I said.

She sat beside me. 
"I was looking for you and assumed you would be working out as you are not a morning person, next possible place was the library." She said.

"You know there is a thing called a mobile phone, dummy." I laughed flashing my phone towards her.

"Tch, I know that. Just my phone ran out of battery after our outing and I slept soon after I came." She said making some faces.

"Come on let's go, it's getting darker." I stood up and pulled her up with me.

Next few days flew very fast. I continued to follow my schedule dutifully. In Psychology, we were taught so many things that fascinated me. The working of our mind is truly a miracle. Today was the day we had to present our papers at the Literary Club. After lunch, Trisha and I went together. Today I reached earlier.
I had seen Mr.President from afar a few times. He was present most of the time in the library as he said earlier. Idiot Sourav didn't disturb me any further as the librarian was always there. She talked happily with me each time I issued books. I had seen him playing basketball in mornings when I get a chance to work out. 

We had settled down and Trisha told me about Korean-dramas she had watched. I used to watch Korean-dramas and Chinese dramas. Here however I don't get time at all. We talked happily until everybody came in. As we were 14 members everybody read their papers. When Mr.President started I was happy that he liked the book. Every book has got it's the charm. It ended pretty well and everybody got a glimpse of other's capabilities. 

We got to know that the drama is set on the novel Pride and Prejudice. It was a beautiful romance novel by author Jane Austen. It was one of my favourite classic books. It was the story in which Elizabeth overcomes her prejudice and Mr.Darcy does his pride and then both surrenders themselves in love. I was very excited about it. Normally I heard colleges play Romeo and Juliet as a drama but this is really great. I do want to see the casts and hopefully, their actions would be top-notch. I want to see the characters brought to life. Many of us have read the novel here and was a squeal of delight when we heard about it.

As we discussed we were told to meet the Drama Club. Trisha and I walked towards the drama club as we wanted to meet Avika and Riya. While Avika was a dancer, Riya was a singer. They both aren't going to participate in the drama but will be there during the meeting just to see the preparations. 
When we reached we started talking and joking with each other. 

"Manya?" I heard someone call. I turned and saw Mr.President calling me over while he was talking to two people there.

"See she is the one I told you about." Is he serious? No, I don't want to act at all. Maybe I would like to do some work but no acting. I admit I had done some acting in my high school days but this was too much.

"Please excuse us for a moment," I said to them and dragged him away. 

"Did I tell you to recommend to me?" I said.

"No, but on Saturday I asked, you didn't deny either." He said with an expression that seemed annoying to me.

"Please tell them I'm not going to participate in the drama." 

"Why?"

"Because it's MY decision," I growled 

"Okay, don't get mad. I didn't say anything I just told them how nicely you have written your assignment paper. I told them that you could assist me in screenwriting. If you want to act that's another story." He said, totally cool. So that's what he was talking about. Screenwriting is the thing I would enjoy but still,

"But still, you should have told me before you were planning to do so," I said

"I'm sorry," he said so sincerely that I felt guilty.

"I want to apologize too as I was too rash," I said biting my lips.

"So are we cool?" He asked softly.

"Yeah. Well, is the post of screenwriter's assistant is still open?" 

"No, someone took it." He said

"Who?" I asked

"Some girl named Manya Verma." We laughed. 

"Do you agree?" He asked.

I contemplated for a moment. Screenwriting would be good, it's my favourite novel and I don't have to do most of the work what more a lazy soul like me desires?
"Yup, I agree," I said

We walked back together and he told them about him being the screenwriter and me being the assistant.
I wanted Avika to try out the auditions but she is in dance which requires a lot of time and energy. As this fest programme's responsibility was Drama Club's they are already divided into several groups and at last very fewer people were left in performing actual drama part. 

As the fest was approaching at the end of mid- August we had time in our hands. Even though the script has to be ready early. Mr.President and I decided to work in the library the next few days as we shortened the entire drama into 30 minutes. 

Today since he called me over I hadn't gotten a chance to talk to my friends. I followed him everywhere. A few minutes later everybody started departing. I got a message from Riya saying they are returning to their practice and Trisha is accompanying them. I sighed and maybe the person beside me mistook it for boredom or tiredness because he flashed me an apologetic smile. He then quickly wrapped up the conversation and led me to the cafeteria.

He told me to order whatever I like, but this was college cafeteria and not a very good place to order 'whatever I like'. Anyway, I didn't want to eat my regular sandwich so I ordered some french fries after asking him if he would help me finish it and a cup of coffee. He too ordered a coffee.

We sat in the same place as the other day.
While sitting he said.

"Next time it wouldn't be this cafeteria." I laughed at this.

"I don't know in which year you are studying," I said thinking carefully.

"You really didn't pay attention to the first day, did you?" He asked.

I was really embarrassed.
"Yeah, I didn't. After the library incident, I felt dejected for a long time and I bear grudges so I didn't pay attention." I said truthfully.

"Bearing grudges, I'll remember that." He chuckled.

"Will you tell me or not," I asked

"Let's do this again. Our introductions." He said and then continued.
"Hello, my name is Vihaan Kashyap and I'm a third-year student here. Hobbies are playing basketball, reading books and listening to music."

"I'm Manya Verma, nice to meet you. I'm a first-year student here. Hobbies are reading, dancing, painting, listening to music and watching movies and dramas." I said mimicking him.

"You paint and dance too?" He asked surprised. This surprise didn't offend me, rather I wanted to tell him more. 

"Yeah. I love cooking. Baking at that." I said.

"You cook too? Would this lowly creature someday would have the fortune to taste your cooking?" He said

"Yes, you could as you aren't any lowly creature but my esteemed senior. But I don't know how and when." I said.

I know he is just joking but my silly heart sped when he said he would like to taste my cooking. Our order had arrived he went to the counter to bring things over.

"Have you read Pride and Prejudice?" He asked.

"Yes," I nodded enthusiastically. Now things will get interesting as I'll get to write (or help in writing, whatever) dialogues of Elizabeth and Mr.Darcy.

A girl with a past she couldn't let go. Once cheerful and chirpy, she began to question her values, intention and even existence.

"God? Have you kept me here just to feel immense guilt each moment I breathe?" She asked, voice breaking and trembling in between her sobs as she tried to compose herself.

After suffering she regained her will to live but still didn't overcome completely. Will the arrival of her soulmate relieve her or will she lose this opportunity too?

Interrupted by the sound of Ben's voice, Payton and J.D. looked over and saw him standing in his doorway.
"Shall we?" Ben gestured for them to join him in his office.
J.D. caught Payton's eye as they headed inside, seeming to find Ben's interruption as inconvenient as she. They had barely taken their seats in front of the desk when Ben got right down to business.
"So I got a call from Jasper this morning," he began. "Apparently they've had a little shake-up in the Gibson's legal department. He fired the general counsel—probably a smart move since the guy obviously didn't do a very good job of preventing this mess they're in. The new GC started on Monday and, not surprisingly, is eager to meet with some of the people at our firm who will be working on the case. Jasper specifically asked whether either—or both—of you might possibly be free to fly down tomorrow for a meet and greet with him and the new general counsel. He acknowledged that this was short notice, but said he thought that since tomorrow is Friday, there was a chance the two of you might be free in the evening from your other work commitments."
Ben cleared his throat. "Obviously, Jasper isn't aware of the situation here, that one of you will not be continuing on in this matter. And I think it's best that he not be made aware of that fact until the partnership decision has been announced." Leaning back in his chair, he sighed melodramatically. "Given the circumstances, I find it a little awkward to ask you two to do this. Although, with the decision being this close—"
"I'll go," J.D. said.
Ben stopped and looked over. He appeared pleased by the definitiveness with which J.D. had responded. "Good." He nodded his approval, then turned. "What do you say, Payton?"
She could feel J.D.'s eyes on her as she answered.
"I'll go, too."
Ben smiled. "Great. I'll call Jasper and let him know to expect you both." He glanced over at J.D. "You get there early enough, Jameson, you might even be able to squeeze in a round. Palm Beach has some great courses. I think the last time I was there was over three years ago. We went in May and it was nearly ninety degrees. And humid as all hell." He pointed. "You two better prepare yourselves. It's going to be a hot and steamy trip."
It took every ounce of Payton's strength not to react to that.

THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT set Payton's meal down in front of her.
"And one vegetarian entree for you," she said efficiently before turning to serve lunch to the passengers across the aisle.
Seated next to Payton, J.D. didn't even bother to look up from his Wall Street Journal.
"Vegetarian? Now there's a surprise."
"About as surprising as you turning first to the financial section of the paper."
J.D. shrugged. "So? I have a few investments."
"I have investments. You have a portfolio," Payton emphasized.
J.D. felt the need to set the record straight. He put down his paper and turned in his seat to face her.
"Payton, I have to tell you something, and I know this is going to come as a shock, but it's better you hear it now." He leaned in consolingly. "You have money." He shook his head. What a shame.
Payton waved this off. "Please. You have money. I have a job that pays well. There's a difference."
"We make the same exact salary."
"But you have an extravagant lifestyle."
J.D. laughed at that. Did he now? Maybe in her eyes, he supposed. She was a walking contradiction and completely oblivious to that fact.
"You have five-hundred-dollar shoes," he pointed out.
"Not anymore."
J.D. cleared his throat. Probably best if they just moved on to another topic.
He watched as Payton picked at her sandwich, some sprouty/all-natural/no-taste concoction. Since they were flying business class, they had seats together, just the two of them. They could talk about anything and not be overheard, although so far Payton's conversation with him throughout the flight had consisted entirely of business-related talk and/or sass. Perhaps it was time to shake things up.
"So . . . you didn't say why you broke up with Chase."
"You're right, I didn't say."
"Are you avoiding the subject?"
Payton put her sandwich down and turned to face him. "Why don't we talk about you for a change?"
Realizing he really needed to refine his subject-changing skills, J.D. struck a nonchalant look. "What about me?"
"Well, you're thirty-two years old—"
"The same age as you."
"—and still single," she finished. "Aren't you supposed to be married by now to a Muffy or a Bitsy or some other society type with a brain as big as this pickle?"
J.D. peered over. "That's a pretty big pickle."
Payton smiled. "So? What gives?"
J.D. couldn't help but look as, while waiting for his answer, Payton crossed one high-heeled leg over the other, notably in his direction. Did she know the effect she had on him? He suspected she did. It was a little dance they did, the way they both conspicuously avoided talking about what had happened in her apartment the other night. He had a feeling that there was more behind her "innocent" questions regarding his love life than she wanted to let on. But he had no intention of cutting the game short. Not yet, anyway. Seeing that she still waited for his answer, J.D. shrugged. "I guess I've just been focused on things at work." He watched as Payton nodded. This she could understand.
Now that the subject of work had been raised, the conversation drifted onto a safer topic: their upcoming meeting with Jasper and his new general counsel. In appreciation of the fact that Payton and J.D. had agreed to fly down to Florida on such short notice, Jasper had suggested, for their convenience, that they meet for dinner at their hotel. J.D. could certainly think of worse places to spend a Friday evening than at the Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach. Putting aside all partnership/career advancement issues, one of the main reasons he had so quickly agreed to the trip was because he knew Payton similarly would never pass up the opportunity.
Payton asked him what information, if any, he had been able to uncover about the lawyer Jasper had hired to be Gibson's new general counsel. J.D. reached into his briefcase for the file he had thrown together earlier that morning when he stopped at the office before heading off to the airport.
Strangely, he discovered something in his briefcase that he had not put there.
A book.
Confused—and with the momentary thought that he was going to be really f**king pissed if this was some sort of South Florida drug-mule scam that would land him in jail and cut into his posh Ritz-Carlton relaxation time—J.D. pulled out the book.
Pride and Prejudice.
It bore a Post-it note, unsigned, that read:
In case of an emergency. Trust me.
J.D. rolled his eyes. Oh, for crying out loud. He had told Tyler about the trip with Payton and his "helpful" friend must have slipped the book into his carry-on when he'd stepped out of his office.
Just as he was about to stuff the silly girly tome back into his briefcase, Payton glanced over.
"Oh, you brought a book? What are you reading?" She leaned over, saw the title, then peered up at J.D. with an expression of unmistakable surprise. "Pride and Prejudice? Wow. I wouldn't have guessed that was your kind of book."
J.D. immediately went on the defensive. "Come on, do you really think . . ." His words trailed off as Payton leaned back languidly in her seat with a dreamy, faraway look.
"Mr. Darcy . . ." She sighed wistfully. She distractedly put her pen in her mouth—J.D. noticed a little flush to her cheeks—and without even realizing it, she slowly slid the pen in and out between her lips.
In and out.
"Fitzwilliam Darcy and his ten thousand a year . . ." she said, still dreamy.
J.D. had no idea what she was talking about, but he couldn't help but stare. The pen. The lips. In and out.
In and out.
Tyler was a f**king genius.
With a blink, Payton came out of her reverie. Most unfortunately.
"Sorry. What were we talking about?" she asked, a little breathless.
Clearing his throat, J.D. held up the book. "Pride and Prejudice?"
Payton smiled fondly. "Yes. It's one of my favorites."
"I caught that. Gotta love that"—J.D. quickly stole a glance at the back cover—"Elizabeth Bennet."
This seemed to wake Payton up. "Well, of course," she said, not unlike Tyler, as if only a Neanderthal wouldn't be in the know. "Elizabeth Bennet is only one of the greatest literary heroines of all time."
J.D. could see she was beginning to get all riled up and lecture-y again. Not that he particularly minded. "Is that so?"
"Yes, that's so. She's clever, witty, bold, and independent. True, she can be a bit proud, some would say she's far too sassy for her time, and she's definitely judgmental, but still—that's why we love her."
J.D. cocked his head. "Well. I guess that settles that."
Payton grinned, a little embarrassed. "Sorry. I can get kind of carried away talking about that book." She paused, remembering. "Weren't you going to show me the information you pulled on Gibson's new general counsel?"
Back to business. J.D. handed Payton the file he had compiled and she began to read through it. But after a few minutes of working in silence, she cast a sideways glance in his direction.
"Still . . . it is kind of a wussy read for a guy, Jameson." With a sly half smile, she turned back to her reading.
J.D. didn't bother to dignify that with a response. But after a few minutes had passed, he subtly glanced over and watched Payton as she worked.
Proud and sassy, no doubt. And definitely judgmental.
But still.
PAYTON STOOD IN front of the closet in her underwear, scrutinizing her dress for wrinkles. She was relieved to see it had survived the plane trip relatively unscathed because (a) she had absolutely zero skill when it came to using an iron and (b) there wasn't time to iron anyway because she was supposed to meet J.D. in the hotel bar downstairs in five minutes.
This was business, she kept reminding herself. She and J.D. were here, at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach, just steps from the white-sand beach and the cerulean blue water of the Atlantic Ocean, on business.
She had stayed in nice hotels before, of course. Plenty of them. One of the perks of working for a top-tier firm was that its lawyers were expected to stay—for image purposes—at top-tier hotels when traveling. It also wasn't the first time she'd traveled on business on a Friday evening, and it certainly wasn't the first time she'd traveled with a male coworker.
But.

Payton Kendall and J.D. Jameson are lawyers who know the meaning of objection. A feminist to the bone, Payton has fought hard to succeed in a profession dominated by men. [["Galleo! Why can't you let go of your pride for once?! It's your mother were talking about here!" Marianne angrily shouted at Galleo.
"You're telling me to humiliate myself as a lowly mercenary?" Galleo huffed.
"Galleo, you know some Earth Magic right? Please, my husband. If you want to get enough money for us, for your mother's treatment. Venicia's paying good money for Magicians against Brune. We need that money, you know that..." Marianne pleaded.
"If you really needed money why don't you start selling weapons in the Smithy, huh?! You're the one who won't let go of petty pride!" Galleo angrily huffed once more.
"I can't believe you said that..." Marianne couldn't retort against Galleo's words.
"Fighting in a war, selling weapons, what difference does it make?" Galleo didn't let his point go.
"Throughout our marriage, I have supported and encouraged you, I have been frugal with every coin we had so you can do your experiments and build your machines! But I will not dirty my father's legacy by selling dirty murder weapons" *Bang* Marianne ran away in grief as she shut the door close behind her.
"Haa..." Galleo sighed in guilt. He knew what Marriane meant when told him to work for Venicia's Army. As an Earth-Based Magician, he would've probably been put on defense duty and not on the actual battlefield.
It was a safe and reliable way to earn good money, but his pride as a Scholar didn't want him to work as a mercenary.
"Mother... Mama, are you ok?... I might join Venicia's defensive to earn some money for your" Galleo visited his mother to tell her his decision.
"No. My disease can't be treated anymore... It's too late. Instead, continue your project! That Elektric Batterie you talked about just might get noticed this time. Make me proud, my son!" *Cough Cough* Galleo's mother encouraged him as she feebly coughed.
"I don't know mother... This is my fifth time. Maybe I... I wasn't as talented as I thought..." Galleo confessed the pessimism that formed inside him as time went on, and age started to strengthen its grip on his dreams.
"Nonsense my son! I'm sure you'll do it this time! You always do, don't you? My cheeky boy"
"M-Mama!" Galleo once again felt motivated when he heard his mother's words and began once more to work.
*Tang tang tang* *Clang clang clang* Galleo worked the forge while his wife was behind him, pouting.
"Hey... I was wrong. I shouldn't have said those words" Galleo asked forgiveness while his working the forge.
*Sigh* "I'm sorry too... I shouldn't have forced you to do something you didn't want to" Marianne sighed as she gave Galleo a back hug.
Galleo wanted to tell her she didn't do anything wrong, and that it was just him being stubborn. But his pride still came between him and being honest with her.
Galleo greatly regretted this...
[If only I could go back] Galleo constantly thought every day.
Galleo worked hard every day and made constant changes to the project he was going to present in the next Philosopher Entrance. This was his fifth Entrance already, and he wanted to make sure he was at least recognized as a Candidate. Then he would finally get the chance to work as a Junior Scribe at the Philosopher's Tower and maybe get the recognition he deserved, finally bringing honor to his Teacher Sisario.
"A jog that produces small amounts of lightning..." The Philosophers weren't impressed.
"Yes! I call it an Elektric Copper Batterie! It can continuously produce small amounts of lightning as long as you pour vinegar here! Or even wine! You can use it to stick goldplate on silver" Galleo enthusiastically explained.
Sadly it didn't impress the Philosophers, not one bit. They were even slightly disappointed as the complex machine was useless compared to Galleo's past exhibitions.
And just like that, thanks to the ignorant prejudice of a bunch of Scholars, Galleo couldn't even make his mother proud during her final days...
Intense regret and despair consumed Galleo as he repeated his mistake with Sisario. Maybe he wouldn't have made it if not for the support of his loving wife and precious daughter...
"Shhh, don't cry...It's alright, everything will be ok" Marianne comforted Galleo during one of his emotional breakdowns. But sadly, Galleo's life never did become ok...
*Cough cough cough* "Is that you Galleo?" Marianne weakly asked as she reached out her hands towards the noise.
"It's me, honey. I've brought your the medicine"
"..." Marianne was silent for a while before she continued:
"Let me touch your face..."
Galleo came closer to his now blind wife. Three years after his mother died, his wife suddenly contracted another rare disease just like his wife, and now she was crippled and blinded by the disease.
Due to this and the financial problems they were having. Galleo was forced to throw away his pride and worked for the Venician Defense against Brune who was currently in the process of Annexing Venicia. Minoru was running on the street while smiling to the young mom who brought her children to school. It was early in the morning, he felt that it was a very nice morning if only there wasn't an old man behind him who kept hit him with a whip.

"DON'T BE DISTRACTED!!" Gran Torino hit the ground with a whip.

"Yes!" Minoru ran faster but he didn't forget to say goodbye to the group of a young mom.

The group of young mom was laughing and waved their hands. 

Gran Torino sighed at his disciple. He knew that his disciple was pretty talented and very strong. He was hoping that he could also help All Might to become the symbol of peace. His power and talent helped him but his personality was a bit.

Gran Torino knew that if his hobby continued it would affect his hero career. After all, it would cause a scandal if Minoru stole someone else wives. 

"You know, you need to search a girlfriend with the same age, you need to leave that young mom," Gran Torino reprimanded him.

"Don't worry, I won't flirt with young mom," His words made Grand Torino felt relief. "I'll only flirt with a widow." But his expression became ugly when he heard his last words.

Gran Torino shook his head. He still remembered that pure young boy who came to his house and asked him to be his mentor. He had grown up but became such a young man. 

"Well, do whatever you want," Gran Torino said." You really don't want a recommendation from me?" He could make him enter the U.A. without entering the exam his qualification was enough for that. 

Minoru shook his head, "No, I'll enter with my own power." He couldn't tell him that there would be a lot of beautiful girls in that entrance exam and he wanted to get to know them. He was in his last year of middle school. His friend in the school was pretty much normal and the girl didn't enough to satisfy him. He needed a challenge to a more difficult girl. 

If it was a video game, he was at least be called veteran but to be called a master. He needed more experience and a more difficult girl. He had conquested every girl in his school and wanted more challenge. 

U.A. is the #1 ranked high school for heroics and is considered as the top Hero Academy in Japan. Students are separated based on their abilities into specific Departments and Classes - A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J and K. 

Gran Torino snorted at him how could he not know about his disciple thinking. He knew that he wanted to meet new girls in the entrance exam. 

"How is Yagi-san?" Minoru asked. He knew the real identity of Toshinori Yagi. He had seen this sickly old man who always came to Gran Torino. He knew that his real identity was All Might but to protect the symbol of peace he couldn't tell anyone.

"He is fine, he looks quite healthy few days ago," Gran Torino sighed. If only his disciple wasn't this perverted he would become the next All for One but since he knew his disciple personality it was impossible. Yagi didn't seem to give up to change his perverted trait though. 

"Tell him that I won't change my perverted trait, no matter what!" Minora complained. He was Mineta Minoru if they took his perverted trait he wouldn't be him again. He needed to protect his identity. 

Minoru looked at his teacher who shook his head. His name had always made him remembered the movie he had watched in his past life. His teacher was cool but he needed to have more cold tone and he would be very savvy. 

"Teacher, do you want to make a movie with me?" Minoru asked. If only Gran Torino was taller it would be perfect.

"What movie?" Gran Torino asked. He knew his disciple was a famous novelist and he read all of his books. He didn't expect him to want to make a movie so he was quite interested. He was old now and had already retired from his hero activities. He was quite idle and bored.

"Well, I'll tell you the summary," Minoru started to tell him the summary of Gran Torino.

"Hahaha, good, let's make it now!" Minoru was also excited to make this movie. He knew money would come to him.

He looked at the screen and watched Zhou Shuang with an approving look.
He agreed to Zhou Shuang's suggestion of letting Jiang Zhuoheng be the godfather of Meowmeow and Yangyang.
All of them were speechless.
This guy was trying to stir trouble, too.
An eerie chill seemed to emanate in the room, surrounding everyone. 
Jiang Zhuoheng managed a brief smile. "I'll reserve that for your kids."
The suggestion was Zhou Shuang's act of revenge for Yan Rusheng who had passed the phone to Lu Yinan just then.
She agreed readily. "Sure. The triplets will address you as godfather."
Xuxu took her phone and said, "I'm hanging up. I haven't eaten."
Zhou Shuang waved. "Okay, bye."
"Hey." Lu Yinan was about to say something when Xuxu ended the call.
Someone seized the opportunity to tease him. "Call her yourself. Why are you muttering?"
"Who is Young Master Lu?! Why would he put down his pride for a woman?"
"Precisely."
Lu Yinan pursed his lips. His expression displayed a mixture of anger and embarrassment. 
The hooligan didn't give him any respect in front of so many people. 
Jiang Zhuoheng bent his head and glanced at the twins once more. He raised his head towards Xuxu. "Xuxu, I'm heading home. Have a good rest."
Xuxu nodded. "Drive carefully."
Their interactions were always so gentle and tender. They seemed so unlikely to quarrel at all.
But this was also exactly why they weren't meant to be a couple.
They were both so composed and calm that there weren't any sparks between them.
Jiang Zhuoheng didn't look at Yan Rusheng at all throughout the entire time he was there. His anger and prejudice against Yan Rusheng would probably not subside in this lifetime. Xuxu might have put the past and suffering behind her, but he could never forget. 
"Oh, yeah," Lu Yinan exclaimed as he suddenly remembered something.
Jiang Zhuoheng halted his footsteps and turned to look at him.
Lu Yinan glanced at everyone and asked, "There is an event on Friday. Who is going?"
"I received the invitation, if I'm free I'll drop by." After answering, Jiang Zhuoheng left the room.
Everyone received the invitations and also said that they would be going.
The government planned an event during the National Day celebration. They invited all the top corporations in the capital city.
Usually, everyone would turn up at such important events unless they really had something on.
Yan Rusheng was the only one who didn't respond. Lu Yinan looked at him and asked, "Third Yan, are you going?" 
"Not free," Yan Rusheng answered with a drawl.
He lifted his blanket and walked towards the bathroom.
Lu Yinan's gaze trailed after him. "But it's not nice to be absent since you're in the capital city."
Someone quipped, "There is a new secretary. Don't you want to know him?"
Yan Rusheng closed the bathroom door.
After washing up, he came out to find that they were all gone. He had already heard them leaving the room earlier on. 
Xuxu also agreed that Yan Rusheng should attend the corporate event. 
She tried to persuade him. "Ah Sheng, you should go."
The new secretary was just appointed and they have gotten no chances to get to know the person yet.
It would be beneficial for them to have some connections with the government.
Yan Rusheng didn't immediately reject Xuxu. "Let's see." 
Both of the little fellows began to cry once again.

In one of the largest warehouses towards the back of the city, crates and barrels were being stacked outside in high piles. To clear out the space in the warehouse, the elder that Elder Azelle put in charge of the operation chose to distribute it all among the other warehouses. Although it would be a tight fit, by all accounts there should be just enough room.
As word spread to the city about what was occurring, all of the citizens of the commune began to migrate towards the warehouse district. They stood patiently to the side listening to the elders. Gradually two groups – infected and non-infected – began to form. As the number of people who were sick was tallied, the elders felt increasingly anxious.
50 people. 100 people. 200… 300… 800… 900.
Almost a thousand people had developed a lasting cough. Some of them had been dealing with it for more than a month. However, because Porose had been supplying them with soup they had been able to work through it. To them, they saw it as nothing more than an inconvenience.
Having all the citizens together now though, people began to realize just how big of an endemic they might have on their hands. Especially the elders, who were busy organizing hands. Various healthy volunteers were moving boxes out and cots in. Along with them was a group of individuals with carts full of soup.
Trisha was there as well - talking with the sick residents. Every few minutes she would take one person aside and check their souls and affinities. When she reported back her findings to the elders, their faces were grim.
"Just like Darra, all of their souls are becoming unwound from their affinities." Her eyes were heavy with exhaustion. Physically her body was fine. After checking her own soul thoroughly, as far as she could tell she was not sick. Perhaps it had something to do with her particularly strong soul? She was unsure. However, her immunity to it forced her to work harder.
The more people she looked at though, she became increasingly exhausted. She felt as though she was seeing these people to their deaths. Echoes of her husband's last moments whispered in her mind. And the worst part – she thought – was that asides from a minor cough, they all believed they were in perfect health otherwise.
This left her feeling drained. But she pushed onwards nevertheless.
After hearing back from Trisha, the elders talked among themselves silently without slacking in their own tasks. 
Gradually all of the cots were moved in, along with food and water and other provisions. The walls of the warehouse were lined with elemental and attuned artifacts. Many of the elders worked hard to create a biome of elemental energy within the warehouse.
If this sickness was attacking the soul, they would have to do everything in their power to nourish their souls beyond the disease's capabilities.
"Everyone." A voice like water flowed through the minds of every person present. The elders too were no exception. A strong blue radiance extended from a single individual who was walking through the crowd. All the citizens of the conclave immediately recognized and made way for The Elder.
Although the elders were in no way removed from the citizens of Tapestry, many of them were nonetheless revered. And there was no elder more revered than Elder Azelle.
He passed through the crowd with a great amount of ease, and everything around him was bathed in a blue aura. Since the meeting in the hall Elder Azelle had since donned an immaculate robe.
On it were thousands of intricate designs, interwoven with each other in the tapestry of the cloth. The robe itself glowed blue and rippled with his power. The designs were all drawn into the robe with threads of a priceless gold metal. 
Alluring and powerful. 
When the citizens and elders looked at this man, they could feel nothing but a supreme respect and awe.
Trisha too was no exception. No matter how powerful the protection of her soul was, the force exuded by The Elder at this point could not be withstood.
"Everyone," He stood in between the warehouse and the crowd of people. In all of tapestry there were close to 10,000 people. But in front of all of them, Elder Azelle was like a mighty deity.
"In the history of Tapestry there have been many difficult situations. Crises which the city has thwarted again and again." He took a deep breath as another wave of elemental energy pulsed off of him and into the enraptured crowd.
"I am afraid that we have reached another one of these crossroads." His voice remained stable, like a pillar that could support the world.
"There is a sickness spreading in Tapestry unlike any of the past centuries.
As far as we know now, we are unsure if there is a cure.
As far as we know now, it is irreversible.
And as far as we know now, there is nothing we can do except try to protect those who are not yet sick."
His eyes closed for a moment. In his mind he was unsure if the choice he was making was the right one. Instead of segregating, should they not be focusing more energy into trying to cure it? He truly was conflicted. On the outside though he remained strong, for the people.
"As far as we know… Tapestry has always survived." The aura which had only been extending some little ways off of him suddenly rippled out and covered everyone in the area. 1,000 people. 2,000 people. All 10,000 individuals of Tapestry who were present were now within his sphere of influence.
"And we will survive this too. What we must do now though, is band together and face this in the only ways we know how to for now. So, for those who are sick, please enter into the medical bay we have set up." Elder Azelle motioned behind him to the large metal doors, behind which was a completely stocked impromptu quarantine.
"Trisha." Elder Azelle spoke to her discretely, "Please?"
"Mm." Trisha who was standing with those who were sick spread out her own energy before speaking to them. "Please, come with me and form a line. Inside there is room and the energy for us to cultivate. You must focus on getting better as quickly as possible, so you can return to your families."
She walked up to stand near Elder Azelle on the other side of the doors as him.
"When you all get better, we can throw a party like none other. But first, you must heal." Her voice was steady and calm, however a slight tremor caught in her words which went unnoticed by most. Behind her the crowd had begun to move closer to the med-bay. 
Everyone in Tapestry trusted the elders with extreme resolution, so no one doubted their words. Many people began saying farewells to their spouses and family – still unsure of how dangerous the situation could become. 
No one here was stupid, though. Many people could tell that there was more wrong here than the elders wanted to let on. However, they still chose to comply wholeheartedly.
Within Tapestry, there was complete trust of one another. That was the privilege of being the last human settlement locked away at the edge of a desolate world.
Everyone watched on as the sick made their way inside. The friends and families all offered their support, handing over any items they had on them with elemental affinity, hoping to help the healing process.
The elders all exchanged despairing looks. They felt pain in their hearts when they thought through the possibilities of what comes next.
Gradually all of the sick had made their way inside, separating themselves into cots without any fuss. They looked out at their many friends and families, with various feelings inside them.
After them - 200 healthy and strongly attuned individuals followed inside. These were volunteers Elder Azelle had talked to personally before his speech.
They had all been informed - more or less - what had happened with Tahmel. It was their job to keep an eye out inside, in case the situations were connected. Should another person lose themselves like Tommy, they were to restrain them with extreme prejudice. 
Amongst these 200 was Pride. He volunteered right away when Elder Azelle had come to talk to him. After handling Tommy, he knew how dangerous another encounter like that could be. Especially if those inside were unprepared.
Pride was the last person to enter, closing the doors behind him.
"Be careful Pride, make sure you reach out to the elders if anything happens. We will keep constant watch from outside."
Pride looked at Elder Azelle and simply nodded. Before he could shut the door though, Elder Azelle pulled out a large flask of alcohol from his robes. Elder Azelle grinned at Pride before tossing it to him.
Pride caught it, surprised at the elders' generosity. But eventually he too just grinned, raising it up in salute before stuffing it in his pocket.
Finally, the doors fully shut. In the silence that was left behind there was a grinding on the other side as Pride locked the door. 
This was something he had thought to do on his own.
No one said anything about it.

The vampire lord walked through the wooden door of the interview chamber and into a large circular room. The room was magically enlarged as it was impossible for such a room to be so large, as it was used as a side room of the great hall. 

Inside the room was a group of wizards wearing expensive dress robes and held pompous attitudes. These were the board of governors and Kai recognized one of them. He and Lucius Malfoy locked eyes for a brief moment as the wizard understood what he was to do. 

There were 12 wizards standing above the vampire lord and his familiar. Kai recognized that they all were from pureblood families. He mentally grimaced in annoyance and looked at them all coldly, easily displaying his immense aura of authority to the board members, successfully gaining the higher position in the minor battle of wills. This would allow him to dictate how the beginning of the interview would start.

The room was constructed in a way that would cause the person standing at the bottom to feel inferior and judge his mental capacity and will. At least that was the official reason, the true reason was that most of the board of directors were made up of purebloods. They were wizards that discriminated against all that weren't purebloods themselves and they would do so with pride. 

When Kai first realised this when he was still new to the world of magic, he was disgusted with the deep discrimination and prejudice that festered in the wizarding world. But later he came to understand that he wouldn't be able to stop the deep-seated prejudice that ran through the wizarding world. It was essentially built on the basis that wizards were superior to every other living creature, be they muggles, intelligent magical beings or magical creatures. 

He had settled on showing the elite blood purist community (the members of the wizengamot) that he was their better and therefore would have to respect him. If they didn't, well… they would have to learn why they were below him. Kai wouldn't do this to all wizards only the ones that believed that they were above others. 

As he stood before them, the board looked at Lucius who was still the chairman of the governors and urged him to start the interview. Most of the men were feeling threatened by Kai's otherworldly looks and the women wanted to get the interview out of the way so they could talk to him in "private."

Lucius coughed to get the governors attention and began the interview. "Please state your name and which position you wish to receive." 
"My name is Kai Darcone, I wish to receive the position of professor for the subject of care of magical creatures," the vampire lord answered without hesitation.

"Have you got any important feats or endeavours that you would like to mention?" Lucius asked. This was the actual deciding factor that the governors' wanted to hear from the participants. They could ask you however questions they wanted but this was question was the one that actually made any difference. 

Take for example Quirrell, Moody or Lockhart. All of them had a good reputation and lots of fame. Quirrell was known for his work with trolls, Lockhart was an accomplished author who had done may  "feats" and Moody was known as one of the best Aurors of his time. 

It didn't matter if they weren't good teachers as long as they were famous and had a great and well-known reputation. This was what Kai had foreseen and had gotten Tom to give him an identity that had many accomplishments and had ties with many "people in high places."

"In fact, I do I am a 10 star combatant of the Dark Lords' Court." Kai let that comment sink in. Unlike most people, almost everybody in the room was either a member of the Dark Lords' Court or had ties to the organization. It was natural that they had a connection otherwise they would fail in business and advancements, which was crucial in their high-class society. 

All the people in the room knew how high a 10-star combatant was. The only high ranking member that the public knew off was the Infernal Lord who was also the only known Lord in the Court. However, the ancient pure-blooded families with ties to the ministry and the Court knew that there were other Lords that had their identity's hidden. 

Below them were the 10-star members, there had never been any 10-star members in public and they were kept hidden to the levels of the utmost secrecy. This was the first time that the wizards in the room had ever met a 10 star member of the Court, with the exception of Lucius who had seen both Kai and Tom. 

Lucius was an 8-star member himself and was the highest member of the Court that many of the governors had personally met. This was one of the primary reasons that he was the chairman of the board of governors and not anybody else. There were other reasons such as his wealth and political position.

The vampire lord heard all of the murmuring voices become quiet the moment that he finished. If they looked at Kai from the Court's ranking then he was considered their supervisor's supervisor's boss. He could easily pull rank if he wanted to receive the job. 

But since Kai was still feeling exhilaration from beating Dumbledore that he felt that he could show off and receive the job with his own abilities, all of the feats that were in his new identity were done by him anyway. "I have also fought, studied, healed and killed many magical beasts during the first Court war. In between that period, I was the administrator for the whole magical creature department." 

This part wasn't quite true but the vampire lord had visited and tended to the hurt creatures so there was some truth to his words.

Their eyes widened in surprise and respect, it wasn't every day that a person could meet one of the original members of the Court. After that war, many flocked to join the organization and all of the members that joined before the war were promoted by a couple of stars depending on their contributions. 

The vampire enjoyed the looks of admiration but hid it behind his cold exterior and continued. "I have also fought and slain many during the dragon war so I believe that I have the right to teach the students here. I should hope that I get the job," his eyes narrowed. 

"After all the only reason that I am here is due to the fact that this school's current standards have fallen to such a disgraceful level that I was assigned to bequeath the children with relevant and helpful information that will help them in their life."

Lucius returned to the rest of the board members and they created a Muffliato charm that caused a loud buzzing noise in their surroundings. This was to cause Kai to be unable to hear them but with his enhanced hearing he could easily hear that they had a few discussions that checked his documents that verified his identity. 

After agreeing that he would get the position, the caster of the spell nullified the spell and apologized, stating that it was needed to vote. Afterwards, Lucius stepped forward and declared that Kai would receive the role. Kai thanked him and after being told to arrive on September the first with his teaching materials, he turned to leave. 

While walking to the door he called out "Oh by the way you should prepare the staff for the fact that I am a vampire." He then pulled the door and left.

Kai is a tourist on holiday when he is killed in a terrorist attack. He wakes up during the year 1981 in a forest and finds out that he is a vampire progenitor in the Harry Potter world. Kai then heads out to the nearest human settlement which happens to be Godric Hollow.

Rebecca gave her a pleading look. Must she say it out loud?
Ryn kept giving her a puzzled look. She did not understand what Rebecca meant by it. Was she apologizing on behalf of Irene for what Irene said that day? Had she become so muddleheaded and just followed whatever Irene wanted?
"Ryn... I..."
"Is there anything I should forgive you with?" Ryn cut her words and asked her back.
Rebecca sank her upper teeth onto her plump bottom lip. Her mind quickly arranged words for her to speak.
"I'm sorry for what Irene... and all of us said," Rebecca said finally, after taking another deep breath to gain her courage.
Ryn shook her head in bemused. She was right. Rebecca took it upon herself to apologize for Irene. Where was Rebecca dignity and pride? Why would she lower herself just for the sake of Irene?
"Don't you think it is more appropriate for her to apologize in person rather than having you throwing away your dignity and pride for that selfish woman?" Ryn rested her chin on her hand and looked at the flustered Rebecca with twinkling eyes.
Rebecca jerked backwards at Ryn's words. Her jaw dropped. Her watery eyes even went wider, which Ryn thought was impossible. Ryn subconsciously wondered if Rebecca's eyes could go even wider but she did not say anything about it.
"I didn't know you've got to be her faithful follower when you're joining her," Ryn made a quote sign and said, "group. You just allow her to boss you around."
"Bossing? No, I didn't," Rebbecca denied but the way her expression looked showed how in denial she was.
"Ups to you. It's not my life and it's not related to me. Do whatever makes you happy," Ryn shrugged.
Rebecca wanted to drink to cover her nervousness but she found that it was empty and she forgot to ask for a refill. She put it down awkwardly and tried to giggle to cover her nervousness.
But it was obvious.
Ryn stood up and took the glass with her to the kitchen. Without a word, she refilled the glass, giving time for Rebecca to ponder about it. 
"Just take your time," Ryn murmured. She did not quickly return to the sofa where Rebecca was. Instead, she leaned against the kitchen cabinet and started to daydream.
She was thinking about the time when she was still young. She just started to be Mika's friend and Mika, just like Irene, was expecting her to follow Mika's every whim. In the end, Mika was shocked when Ryn simply ignored her demand and ignored her completely. 
Ryn was so used to be left alone, she did not feel anything when being isolated by the students in the school.. Having hippy parents made it hard for her to make friends. No one could understand her situation and no one actually cared. They did not try to understand why she was being different from the rest of them. Even the teachers who were supposed to treat their students equally and without prejudice could not stop themselves from laughing behind her back. 
She knew and accepted it unwillingly. How could she change her parents to be normal like other parents when they were so determined to keep hold onto their way and belief? 
She could not even eat meat because since young her parents drummed it into her head that eating anything that used to have life was like eating another human being. Life was precious and should not be treated cheaply like food. everything she wore and ate was based on plants. She did not even own a deodorant. Everything was au natural. 
Luckily for her, she did not smell bad. 
Ryn unconsciously smiled at the thought of Mika, once realising she could not control her, went back and apologized. Mika even promised to change herself so that her behaviour would not hurt their budding relationship. 
Truthfully, even until now, Ryn had no idea why Mika was so determined to be her friend. It was weird but at the same time, Ryn was grateful for finally having a person she could call a friend. She was no longer alone. 
Their friendship, of course, created rumours and such a scandalous thing happening and Ryn, being the poor student, received all the accusations. She was called a gold digger, materialistic, opportunist, and so many other names Ryn was too lazy to remember but at that time she was hurt. she did nothing but being friend with Mika and was treated like a criminal. 
But it did not stop or end their friendship. In fact, it strengthened it. Mika was more determined to keep their friendship stronger and stronger. Hence the introduction to the most popular and handsome boy in the school, Mika's own older brother, Jeremy. 
Ryn sighed a bit at the memory. It was full of happiness, sadness and everything in between. She really missed those moments. She wished she could turn back time and experience everything all over again.
"Ryn."
Her reminisce session was interrupted again by Rebecca's voice. 
Ryn looked at the other woman and lifted an eyebrow. Had Rebecca had enough time to process what she just said?
"You are wrong," Rebecca spoke. 
She was hugging herself tightly as if she was trying to tell herself she was right and Ryn was the one in the wrong. Ryn accused them wrongly.
"Wrong?"
"We are not Irene's followers or lackeys. We are her friends. And as friends, it's our job and responsibility to help each other," Rebecca cried. 
Ryn simply smiled. She turned around to pour out the already warm water into the sink. It was left out on the open quite long and no longer fresh. Ryn ran the glass under the water before pouring it with cold water from the refrigerator. 
"So, as Irene's friend, it is my responsibility to help her," Rebecca put a hand against her chest to emphasize each word she spoke. 
But the seriousness turned into a puzzle when Ryn handed the glass of water. She looked at Ryn in questioning.
"Is that so?"
Rebecca nodded her head rather violently. Her hands even shook a bit resulting from the movement and making the water filling in the glass until it almost drips out. Rebecca, realising her mistake, quickly put the glass down onto the counter. She did not want to make the covered floor wet.
Ryn poured herself a glass of water and walked back to the living room calmly. Rebecca followed behind. Well, she had to retrace her steps to retrieve her drink but soon enough she found herself sitting on the same sofa, facing Ryn.
"Rebecca, why are you so flustered when I said you've become Irene's follower? If you are really her friend and she treats you like a friend, why are you so nervous and frustrated when you're explaining to me just now?" Ryn asked slowly.
Rebecca was taken back with the questions. She did not realize her weird reaction.


On the surface, Ryn looked like a normal quiet girl who only focused on her study and did not even bother
about things outside her study. However, the whole campus was shocked to know she was actually a
popular model who just made a comeback after two years 'retired'. To make them more shocked when a
very popular singer, Jeremy was her ex-boyfriend and now wanted her back. Of course, to add the spice in her life, a model who is her university's mate fell in love with her.
Now she had to choose between these two, as well as balancing her life as a boring student but an exciting model.
