As the players got on the field, They lined up on the field. James winked at Ricky with a level of arrogance that could only be compared to Draco Malfoy.

Ricky was all too ready to flash that mentality down the drain.

Sirius smirked at Ricky wickedly. For Sirius, it wasn't quite arrogance, so much as a thrill for a challenge, a hunt, with Ricky being the prey.

Harry Potter's memories had caused him to account a lot Sirius's unstable personality traits to him being locked up in Azkaban for over a decade, but the more time Ricky spent with the younger Sirius, he thought it might have more to do with who he was as a person. 

Ultimately, Sirius was a good person but wrapped around that good person was a streak of something far more vicious and volatile. Something that drove him to push boundaries, to seek out conflict and chaos.

Was there really any wonder about him being a Beater?

And sure enough, mere moments after the whistle was blown, Ricky was forced to roll to avoid the bludger.

He soured high and blessed the world for this day. The sky was a perfect blue, not a cloud in sight. The air was crisp and that chill contrasted beautifully with the heat of the sun.

Eira wasn't kidding about Ricky being their only hope. James wasn't a good flier nor was the Gryffindor team merely a strong team, they were bloody fantastic.

Ricky laughed to himself, the Gryffindors would have buried the Chudley Cannons, though to be fair, so could almost every other Hogwarts team. He kept track of Sirius and stole glances at James as searched the field for the snitch.

Ricky grinned when he spotted it. The Gryffindor Seeker was beside him and he saw it too.

The announcer called, "The snitch has been spotted, Gryffindor Seeker, Devon Ilke, seventh year, better flier, better broom against rookie Potterclaw."

The Ravenclaw stand seemed to sigh together, their faith in Ricky non-existent.

That was until Ricky began his descent. Head first, straight down. And like he had anticipated, the older broom built up more speed than the newest model. It shook a little but Ricky had no problem keeping himself centered. He sped past the Gryffindor Seeker in moments and Sirius's bludger missed him by yards.

"Ravenclaw Seeker In The Lead!" The announcing proclaimed, sounding as if were proclaiming the sky was falling. The 
Ravenclaws stood and cheered.

The first screams started with Lily Evans.
Ricky was most literally headed towards the ground at a breakneck pace, the snitch shimmering about a foot off the ground.

The Gryffindor Seeker was nowhere close and everyone seemed convinced that Ricky was about to go splat.

The rest the game went on, too consumed with their own tasks to keep up with the seconds it had taken Ricky to enter his dive.
With a practiced effort Ricky pulled the tip of his broom up, he flew straight, his toes brushing the grass as he scooped up the snitch. His momentum carried him across the field to the other side of the pitch before he could stop.

The crowd had gone silent. The announcer appeared to be speechless.

James scored another goal, the Ravenclaw Keeper smiled at him.

James frowned, as everyone on the pitch halted in place. The Ravenclaw team with growing smiles and the Gryffindor team with a growing sense of confusion.

Sirius who had seen the entire thing, bumped in James' shoulder with a playful grin, "Looks like it's in the Potter genes after all."

James frowned, "What-" but then he saw the fluttering wings in Ricky's grasp as he held it out up.

The announcer finally got his act together and roared, "Ravenclaw Wins!"

Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin stood and cheered, the rest of the announcer's talk was lost in the din.

Gryffindor stayed seated, utterly bewildered in what to do, they hadn't lost a match in five years. Suddenly, James Potter spawns an older more mature brother who gets sorted into Ravenclaw for some Merlin forsaken reason, and then this new Potter plunges to his death only to do the impossible and beat the unstoppable.

For Ravenclaw and Slytherin, it was just a blessing to have a chance at winning the cup. Gryffindor was now far enough behind that even if they won against all others the others houses could still undermine them with points.

Rickard Potter was suddenly everyone's hero, no longer James Potter's clawy shadow, but the anti James. Eira kissed his cheek and Terry spent the night bouncing beside Ricky's side.
In the stands, Filius gave Minerva a sly smile that drip of smugness and said simply, "Ha ha."

Minerva's lips thinned, but her eyes sparkled. What was winning worth after all, if there was no challenge?

The next day after the fanfare has died down, James was spoiling for a fight the next night and Sirius who had a bottomless reserve of energy was up for any mischief James had in mind.

It was only bad luck that Snape found himself parting ways from Lily when the terrible duo found him.

Ricky who had snuck away to find somewhere quiet to read came across the duel. He hesitated before stepping around the corner, wanting to see how James fought when he wasn't under the gaze of a teacher. He was,
James was just as bad at DADA when there were no rules to follow. Sirius was the better duelist, Ricky could gage that at glance.

Ricky was about to join the fray on Snape's side when Snape let loose a number of spells that had Sirius not pushed James out of the way and brought up a shield Snape might have caused an insane amount of damage for a hallway scuffle.

So, yeah, maybe Snape wasn't exactly the hapless victim his memories had made him out to be.

Ricky spotted Snape's bag, he took the liberty to search through it.

He found four books on the Dark Arts and one rather sourly abused potions book. Every inch of free space in the potion book had been written in. Measurements had been rewritten and what look liked… experimental spell invention.

Snape really was a genius.

Ricky had yet to write his name in his own potions book. He exchanged his copy using a quick cleaning charm for books (the one Hermione had taught Harry and Ron after Ron had spilled butterbeer on her copy of Hogwarts, a History), with Snape's.

The charm also acted as a way to keep someone from tracking the original owner of the book. Snape's custom book Ricky stored in his own bag along with the four Dark Art books.

He doubted these books would have what he needed, but he needed a place to start. Ricky peeked around the corner. Snape was holding his own against James and Sirius, which might have been impressive had James and Sirius not been using lightweight attacks and Snape using deadly force.

Seeing as they hadn't succeeded in killing each other in school, Ricky left them to it. No one could tie him to this place at this time, and Snape would never suspect who had stolen his books.

The freshly cleaned new printing of the textbook would probably confuse Snape the most. After all, what kind of thief stole a second hand copy of a book only to replace it with a new one?

The next day, a gloomy looking sat by himself in the library. Severus was grouchy today, and the reason was because he couldn't find his books. Couldn't find his bloody books!

Avery was going to kill him if he found out that he lost the Dark Art books, the Dark Arts books and his notebook on the Dark Art books.

His potion book was missing too. All his flipping notes, an entire summer's worth of work lost. The shiny new, hardly cracked spine book was taunting him.

Who the hell would steal his books and give him a new copy of his textbook in return?
It didn't make any sense.

A hand touched his shoulder and only the accompanying, "Hey Sev," kept him from hexing his friend.

Sev looked up to meet eyes as green and beautiful as the most princely emeralds in the world. Her hair was caught and spun fire, it surprised him that her hair didn't burn at the touch. And then there was her smile. Lily was the most beautiful person on the planet.
Finally finding his voice, he said, "Hi, Lily."

She sat beside him, "Something wrong? I've never seen you glare at a potions book like that before."

He shoved it up the table and crossed his arms, "It isn't my damned book."

Lily laughed, "Others have you doing their homework again?"

"No, someone stole mine."

She raised a brow, "And you bought a new one?"

"No."

She frowned and pulled the book towards herself, "A gift?"

"No, the thief left it."

"You're telling me someone stole your book, your book that is barely held together at the seams and has more spidery handwriting than a spider web made out of black ink? That book?"

"Yes," Severus grumped.

"And then they gave you a new copy of the same book?"
"Yes."

"Why?" she asked. She was about to open the book and paused, "It isn't cursed, is it?"

"Lily, do you really think I would let you handle a cursed book?"

She smiled at him, "Of course not." She began flipping through the pages. "No name," she noted.

"I know."

Lily pulled out her wand and cast a track it back to owner charm. There wasn't so much as a twinge. Lily frowned and laid her wand on her palm, "Point me." The wand rose spun and settled on Severus. "Huh, either someone cleaned the book, or it is a new book that was always intended to be yours."

"I want my book back."

"At least you can keep up in class."

"Lily, all my corrections were in the other book."

"Like you haven't memorized everything you wrote down."

"That isn't the point, I want my book back."

"You sound like you're five," Lily huffed, and shook a hand through his hair.

Lily was the only person in school who knew that Severus's hair wasn't greasy, sure, it had oil like everyone else's hair did but it wasn't filthy like the Marauders liked to chant around the school. 

Somewhere far back in his muggle heritage, Severus had an ancestor who had been a trader from East Asia. Which left him looking like every other British man only with silky black hair that on any other British man would mean it was unwashed.

"You wouldn't like your things stolen."

Her smile grew, "No one would dare, I would destroy them."

She wasn't lying, Severus spared with her and could barely keep up, at least not with Defensive magic.

"I'll keep an eye out for your well worn book, Sev. I am sure it will turn up."

Severus sighed. Together they worked on their charms and transfiguration books.

They had been growing apart over the last few years. Mainly because he had been hanging around people like Avery who hated anyone who didn't have magical families. 

But the end of the last term his father had died from some health issue that Severus was one hundred percent certain was due to Tobias's heavy drinking.

He thought it would be the answer to all their woes, Severus paid not a single tear to his father's death.

But his mother did. In the first month of summer vacation, he had been convinced his mother was going to drown herself in her own tears. 

For the life of him, he could not understand why she cared so much, but she did. And while Severus thought they would move back to the wizarding world, maybe visit his Prince grandparents, his mother only got worse, secluding herself in Spinner's End.

It seemed that one could neither with Tobias Snape nor live without him. Lily had been Severus's rock over the summer, magic, morals, and house divisions aside, Lily had been there for him.

He would always be in debt to her kindness, always be in need of her friendship. Avery and his lot hadn't reached out once, except to ask for the answers for the summer assignments. Severus wasn't quite ready to wash his hands of them yet, but he was done hiding or apologizing for his friendship with Lily.

So what if she was muggleborn, she was top of their year in charms and not far behind in either potions or DADA either. 

No, Severus was not ashamed of Lily and if he got teased, so what? There was nothing anyone could do to him that the Marauders hadn't tried first.

Somewhere else in the castle James was frowning at Padfoot who was writing in his answers to his Transfiguration homework. He would be done in about ten minutes, James himself was already done with it.

"What's wrong, Prongs?" Moony asked.

James shook his head, "Do you ever feel like Ricky does too well here? From what I've heard he keeps up with class easily? I mean, I've never seen him act surprised about anything in the castle or get lost."

Moony shrugged and Padfoot looked up with a grin. "Lost? How on Earth would he get lost? Terry Greengrass is always with him unless Ricky's hanging out with us."

"I think he knows," Wormtail said suddenly.

The other three looked at him.

"Knows what, Wormtail?" Padfoot asked.

"About Moony."

Padfoot and James exchanged a look.

But Moony shook his head, "He doesn't know. Ricky doesn't treat me any different than anyone else. The only person he acts weird around is you, Peter."

Padfoot rolled his eyes, "Well, that's probably because within the first five minutes of meeting him you insulted the way he looks and called him a bastard. You can't be that stupid to think even someone as nice as Ricky is just going to forgive that, especially seeing as you're hostile to him whenever he's around."

"He isn't nice," Wormtail emphatically. "He's a liar."

Moony let out an exasperated breath of air, "Ricky is a kind person. It really isn't a surprise he was sorted into Ravenclaw, annie that I think about I am kind of shocked he was put into Hufflepuff. Anyway, again aside from you, he seems to get along with just about everyone."

"He does have secrets, though," James said softly.

Moony looked at James with an almost pitying expression, "I know you met him at the beginning of summer but he was in a coma for all of break. You've only had a month or so to get to know him."

James looked off into the distance, "I never want to go back to St. Mungo's, that place is depressing, and my parents… it tore them up to see him like that."

"It hurt you too, didn't it," Moony said softly.

"It got me thinking if it is what I will look like on my deathbed. The healers could say he was going to heal just fine all they wanted but he looked… So broken, like a corpse just laying there."

"I can only imagine how bad it was for you," Padfoot said.

After a brief moment of silence Remus spoke once more.

"But honestly how do you think he is related to you?" Moony asked. "He has to be a close relation, there is no way he is your distant cousin."

James shrugged, "My parents say that my Grandfather Henry went out drinking one night  in order to drown out his sorrows and met with a pure blood witch who happened to be doing the same, one thing let to another and they got it on. Ricky is pretty emphatic that his mother is dead though."

"He could be lying," Wormtail said.

"Would you shut up?" Padfoot snarled. "We get it, you don't like Ricky. But he isn't going anywhere and he doesn't have a reason to lie about his mum dying."

"Did he describe his muggle family at all?" Moony asked James.

James leaned back on the couch, "Only that he doesn't like them and that they hated magic. I think he's told more to my parents though."

"Yeah, Hedwig is always dropping off letters," Padfoot said, "I love that Mrs. Potter sends us all chocolates whenever Ricky gets a letter."

James' lips pressed together, "I don't know how he writes that many letters. My parents are great and all, but I can't think of anyone I would exchange letters with almost four to five times a week."

"I think the Potters are the first family he's ever had," Padfoot said. "And you are all basically strangers. I doubt he will be exchanging that many letters as the year goes on."

"Isn't it weird that Harry looks a bit like Mr. and Mrs Potter?" Moony asked. "He doesn't look a whole lot like you, Prongs, bur he does have similar features as both of your parents though."

James nodded, "Flitwick did a spell and apparently Ricky is in some way related to both my parents. Apparently, his mother isn't just some random unknown witch, she was somehow connected to the Ross family. Even Flitwick said the spell was working right after casting it a few times for confirmation."

Moony got a eager look in his eyes, "How does it work?"

"It is supposed to connect family, but a gold chain of light indicates parent and child, Silver for siblings, Bronze for distant relatives."

"So?" Padfoot pressed, his homework forgotten. "Was there a gold chain for Ricky?"

"Nope, just a silver chain from my dad to him, and a bronze to him and my mum."

Wormtail snorted in disdain at that statement while muttering under his breath.

Both Moony and Padfoot casted a cold look his way, the kind that promised pain, and like the coward he was Wormtail whimpered while looking down.

"Oh, I almost forgot entirely. I also found out that my mum is cousins with McGonagall," James said.

"Too cool," Padfoot said. "Is she going to be at the next Potter Yule dinner?"

James grinned, "I should ask my parents to invite her."

"Do you think she is more relaxed outside of school?" Padfoot wondered.

Moony snorted, "Seems unlikely."

The conversation moved away from Ricky, but Wormtail thought of what the failed spell might mean and how he might invent a way to drive a wedge between the two Potters.

The relationships between loved ones might not always be pure and simple. 
The elders might have given the best resources to nurture their younger generation, but it could have been an investment, one that they were expecting returns from. 
It was not to say that all family relations would be so cold-hearted, but undeniably, such situations did exist.
Shi Qing smiled reluctantly. "Qiao Nan, don't you think that you've made it sound too horrifying?" She was just told that despite being in their uniforms, some of the soldiers in the army might not strive for excellence and there were grey areas that she did not know of in the past. Now, Qiao Nan was telling her that there was such an ugly side to the relationships between relatives. Like the soldiers in the army who just learned English, Shi Qing found it difficult to adapt.
"Horrifying?" Qiao Nan was amused. "I know you like to read. Let me introduce you to this author. You only have to read all of his books to know if I have been exaggerating."
"Do you mean the books written by Lu Xun[1]?"
"Yes, that's right. You can look for them yourself." The reading articles in their syllabus were too positive. Those articles that were thought-provoking were not in their reading lists, and they had to look for it by themselves. 
Shi Qing was not someone who would procrastinate. 
Qiao Nan had mentioned it to her that evening, and the next morning, Shi Qing went to look for Shi Peng. "Dad, do you have time? Can you find someone to buy me some books?"
"Books?" Shi Peng looked at Shi Qing with interest. "What books do you want? Humanities or science? One is marked by the company one keeps. In the past, you will not even do your homework during summer break, let alone reading books. It seems to be good for you to have made such a good friend."
Actually, Shi Peng did not care if his daughter did her homework or not. He felt that what mattered was her attitude. 
His daughter was smart. Since a young age, she was quick to learn new things and she had good results. As her father, Shi Peng was worried that having a smooth-sailing life might not be a good thing for her. 
"I am interested in Lu Xun's novels and psychology books related to social relations. Get more of those for me."
"You want to read those books?"
"Yes!"
Shi Peng's palm went cold. He placed it against the warm teacup. "Did Qiao Nan recommend you to read these books?"
"She gave me suggestions." It was up to her to read or not.
Shi Peng had a serious look. "Are you sure you want to read these books?"
"Yes. Dad, I just realized that having good results does not mean everything in this world. Life is much more complicated than that." Life was unlike doing problem sums, especially science topic that only had one correct answer. It was either correct or wrong. "Dad, I want to grow up. It's time that I grow up."
"There's a price to pay for growing up."
"But you can't protect me forever."
It was for the longest time before Shi Peng answered. "Well, in the afternoon, I will get people to send the books over. There's no harm in reading more books." In the end, Shi Peng relented.
Shi Qing's eyes lit up. "Dad, thank you." Thank you for caring and protecting her all this while, but she had to grow up.
"You have indeed grown up." Shi Peng sighed. He knew that Qing Qing thanked him not only for the books but also for being protective of her.
To Shi Peng, it was simply because he wanted his daughter to have those that he did not have. He did not expect that his daughter was able to stand up for herself and did not need his protection. Perhaps this was his greatest blessing.
While Qiao Nan was working hard on her homework in the afternoon, Shi Qing dumped a stack of books onto the table that Qiao Nan was at. The pen that Qiao Nan left on the table bounced from the weight of the books. 
"Hey, did your dad get you all the books from the library?" Qiao Nan curled the corners of her lips at the large pile of books on the table. "Even if you want to read up, you should take things slowly. With this stack of books, isn't your dad worried that you may be frightened off by them?"
"That's our style. People from the Shi family give their best efforts in whatever they do. Anyway, there's still three-third of the summer break left. I have all the time to finish these books. I can definitely finish them." After she finished reading these books, the first thing she wanted to figure out was none other than her family. 
She wanted to understand why her grandpa sided with Qiu Chenxi. 
"I will cheer you on." Qiao Nan let go of the pen that had been bounced off.
Shi Qing placed a few of the books in front of Qiao Nan. "These are yours."
Qiao Nan took a quick glance. They were sociology and psychology books. "I do not plan to read these books."
"That will not do. We are good friends. We should share weals and woes." These books were theory-based and were dull and dry. She had to get someone to read it with her. It was boring to read books by herself. But it would be different if she had company.
Qiao Nan shot Shi Qing a sideways glance. "When did we become friends? I have no idea at all."
"Now you know."
"Since we must share weals and woes and seeing that I have so much homework to be done, shouldn't you help me with it?"
"Hey, you have done much more than me. When it comes to homework, I am so much behind you. If we are to share weals and woes, it's you who have to help me with it." Actually, she never did her summer break homework. She felt that it was a waste of time.
Qiao Nan felt like slapping Shi Qing. No matter what she said, Shi Qing would find ways to take advantage of her. 
Qiao Nan picked a book and flipped through a few pages. The paper quality was particularly good. Some of the books were even imported. They were as good as the books that Zhu Chengqi gave her. It would be difficult to get these books on the market. "Are you able to understand these books?"
Shi Qing scored fairly well for her English, but having good results in high school did not mean that she would be able to understand these English books. Even for her, though she only flipped through a few pages, she would need a dictionary to be able to understand the contents.
"Oh yeah, this is for you." Shi Qing pulled out a book from the stack. It was as thick as the wooden headrest in ancient times. She passed it to Qiao Nan. "Take your time to read it. It's okay if I don't understand. It is fine as long as you can understand them. By then, I can simply get you to tell me the contents of the books!"
"Oxford Dictionary?" Qiao Nan's expression darkened. Did Shi Qing intend to treat her as a translation tool? 
"That's right. It is not that easy to get this dictionary now. It is the 1995 edition. You have to make good use of it." Her father had taken this from his private collection. 
"The 1995 edition of OALD?" Qiao Nan had heard of it.
"What's OALD? I am not too sure. You can take a look at it yourself." Shi Qing did not understand anything that was beyond their English syllabus in school. As for the edition of the Oxford dictionary, she was clueless. Shi Qing was in a slight panic when Qiao Nan mentioned OALD all of a sudden.

Qiao Nan: Crap! I am your biological daughter, yet I am treated as if I was picked up from the streets. In fact, you treat me worse than that!

Mother Qiao: Qiao Nan, you are not as pretty or smart as your elder sister. You are not as blessed as her. You have no right to study, marry, or to have your happiness!

Qiao Nan: Why am I not allowed to study, marry, or to seek my happiness? I will find a man right now and marry him!

Qiao Nan is dumbstruck upon discovering that the man right beside her is a powerful figure in the quad—the person who has the most promising prospects to be the future Chief.

Qiao Nan stares at the well-built man in front of her. He has firm abs and cold, chilling eyes. She swallows the lump in her throat as she says her greetings, "Good Morning, Chief!"

I opened my eyes from a dreamless slumber, as the sun behind me from my window woke me up. I can feel my back getting a little wet with sweat. It is summer, so the sun is warm. My eyelashes against my hair is making my eyes irritated, and some of it even went between my lips. 

I saw the room as it was lit up by the invading sunlight, papers and bottles scattered throughout the place that I never cared to clean them, because of how scarce my time is. My posters of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Bridge to Terabithia lined up on the walls. Even though I am Japanese, I read a lot of untranslated English books. Because you can sum up my life as a life full of books. I've read hundreds of books since I was a child.

I sat up on my bed and thought about this day as another day.

Another day in this body. 

A paper thin body. 

Thin enough to be satisfied by bits of food. 

Food not from my chosen profession.

But from a part-time job.

I faced at the mirror and looked at my body. It is very thin indeed. I am not at least concerned on how I look, for it doesn't matter for me. How I look doesn't affect my writing. My vision is blurry, because I needed glasses to see, but it is fine. I am still inside my familiar home. I don't need to see to find things, but memory of where I put them as they are. 

I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I put just enough to toothpaste on the toothbrush so that it could last me for a few more days. It was minty and fresh. I looked at the mirror on the sink. Damn, I look horrible. 

After I finished with it, I always comb my hair before I went to shower, because mom said that the hair is weak when wet. Combing the hair after a bath will destroy it. I always kept doing it that way, and I should tell you that my hair is the only thing that's been taken care of in this apartment. We had this family tradition of taking a good care of the hair. She even sends me shampoos and hair products to keep my hair healthy. 

I went to have a shower. It is very refreshing, and I didn't need to worry about the water being cold, for it is summer. God bless summer. I stayed there for a while after I finished putting shampoo and stuff. I don't know why, but the splashing sounds, and the flowing water on my skin makes me feel relaxed. After that, I used other hair products for my hair.

I changed into my strap and shorts so that I could get started writing a new light novel story.

I wonder if something changes. 

A change that will change my life. 

A life of repeating a day like this. 

That makes me feel like I am trapped in an endless loop of time. 

I want something to change. 

I went to the fridge to get some apple. One is enough to fill my stomach for a day. I know it's unhealthy kind of diet, but I have no choice, because I have a rent to worry about. Thinking of that, I need to work on my new story now, so I pulled a piece of A4 paper from inside the drawer of my desk, and put on my glasses. 

I am really particular about the time, so I always check it whenever I get the chance. In that way, I can be more productive. I looked at my phone, and it is 10:36 am of July 20, 2019, so I got no time to waste. I started writing. 

I don't have galleries of my friends, but only a gallery of rejected manuscripts in the shelf beside me at the right. These manuscripts were rejected only because the publisher said that I don't understand the feelings of my characters so it makes the story unnatural. 

I don't have many friends since I was a child. All I ever had was my books. Most of the time, I would sit on a bench under a tree, and away from the other kids so that I could read my book in peace. I even doubt that my classmates even remember me. 

I am amazed by the world the writers create with their imagination, and how they stir up the emotions of the readers, even if they are just written characters on a piece of paper. It inspired me to write my own story to share the wonders of fiction. 

My mother realized this, and she believed in me without a second thought. She believed that I could become a great writer someday, and that I could do great things. She gave me a big book on my 8th birthday. Tokugawa Ieyasu - the longest Japanese novel ever written in one book. I loved it, and that was the day that I decided to make her proud.

My mother and me were left by my father after he passed away when I was only two years old. I only heard stories about him from my mother, and she told every story like he never died. I know it was hard for her to raise me alone, but she didn't give up to stop my uncle interfering with my life. She said that my uncle who is her older brother is now the head of the family that owns a great area of rice fields. Arranged marriages were a thing in her family. It's even a reason why she escaped from them and lived with my father, in Chiba. She's afraid that I will not be free to choose who I loved if I stayed there with uncle. 

I am finished with my new story, and I see that it is already 3:10 pm. It is time to take this manuscript to the publishing company. I changed into my "going out" clothes - which is simply a summer sweater and a loose jeans. I don't like showing my skin, because it is embarrassing, even if it is summer. 

I went out with my manuscript inside my cheap, brown handbag. Then there were three women at the balcony of the open corridors of the apartment. They were looking at the view of Tokyo from the this floor. They are at the far right, but I could tell what they are whispering about. I acted like I didn't hear. 

"Here comes the cave woman," one of them whispered while I locked my door. They laughed softly. This happens every morning that I got used to it eventually. I don't bother to confront them as much as I hate it, unless they touch me. 

I went to climb down the stairs, because I feel uncomfortable taking the elevator with other people. I am living in the 8th floor of this building, so it's quite tiresome when going up. 

On the train station, that is a ten minute walk from my apartment, I went through one of the gates with my IC card. Then I fell in line behind the people who are waiting for the next train. 

I am passing this manuscript to a publishing company where all of my friends work (two of them, to be exact).

A train arrived and we entered, and a lot of people went out of the cabs. After that, we entered and luckily, I found an empty seat at the left side of the train, just near the door. 

I spent my time reading a light novel I bought yesterday. After a couple of minutes, I finally arrived at the train station I am getting off. Now, it is just a twenty minute walk to the publishing company. 

I saw the building, where it was based. It is averagely beautiful like the rest of the buildings here in Tokyo. I went to the entrance, and there was a guard walking around the area it is located. 

"Good afternoon, Matsuno-san!" I greeted him, while bowing. He is one of my friends in this building. I always have to pass by him everyday I went here. He is a man near the retiring age, but he was kind and always radiant because of his smile, as much as he loves his job very much. 

"Oh," he smiled at me. "Good afternoon to you too, Hattori-chan." 

I stopped for a minute for a chat. It wouldn't hurt if only just for a minute. "How's your daughter doing in school?" I asked. 

"She's doing great. And how about you? Did you finish another story?"

"Yes, I am about to hand it over."

"Good," he smiled. "Good luck, and do your best! May your work be published."

I bowed down once more and said, "Thank you, I'll do my best."

I went inside, and to the elevator. I don't like it, but I have to, so I could pass my work in schedule. My other friend is Takeda that I've known since high school. He works here as a copy editor. I always hand my manuscripts to him so he could make the leading editor check it out. I always crossed my fingers, wishing that this time I will get published. I crossed my fingers a hundred times, but none of my stories were published. I feel heavy inside everytime I do this. I would've given up a long time ago, but that's not me. I don't break a promise. 

The door of the elevator opened and I did the proper etiquette in elevators. I felt relieved after I went out. It was really uncomfortable for me even if I do it everyday.

A man standing up while reading a piece of paper in his office. The whole office was full of papers and books of different kinds. There are many notes posted on the walls, and the computer is still running. The man looked serious about his work, and shows his dedication for it. He adjusts his glasses everytime it slips while reading. 

"Takeda-kun," said someone from the other side of his small office. Takeda is the name of the man holding a paper, and he stopped what he's doing. "Hattori-chan is looking for you." He pulled a munscript from the shelf. "How long are you gonna keep her waiting?" Suddenly, he put up a smile, and went to the door. 

"Right, right," he said. 

"Waiting for you to ask her out?" said the man and laughed. 

"Oh, just shut up."

He opened it and saw Hattori brushing her hair over her left ear while looking to the side. She was startled that her glasses slipped, so she fixed it and put up a smile. while looking at Takeda. 

Takeda thought: "So cute..."

"Good afternoon, Takeda-kun," she said. "May I give my manuscript?"

He smiled and said, "Ah, of course."

"I hope I am not interrupting anything," she said while leaning to see what's going on inside. 

Takeda takes the manuscript. "Don't be like that, Hattori-chan. We've been friends for a long time. I will never hesitate to help you."

"Oh, uhh... Thank you so much, Takeda-kun."

"Don't mention it."

"Hey, TAKEDA!" said an angry woman who seems to be the boss. "No slacking off!"

He looked nervous as he answered while turning his whole body back to the office. "Yes, I'm sorry. I'll get back to work as soon as possible, Miyashita-sensei!"

"Stop being so noisy, Takeda-kun!" said a random officemate.

"I'm sorry!"

He hands her over a different manuscript while smiling nervously. He closes the door slowly and said, "I'll see you later, bye..."

"I'm sorry," she whispered. 

"Okay."

Finally, the door closed.

I really got him into a trouble. I feel guilty about it.

I looked at the manuscript he gave me.

"Welcome to the collection," I said to the it.

I don't know why I keep storing them, but I felt bad when thinking of throwing them away.

"Still not giving up," I said to myself, while crossing my fingers. 

I went home after that, and it is already dusk when I came back, because I took some time to think about another story by walking slowly. I entered my apartment, and I saw my cat. I didn't see him this morning, because he goes out sometimes through the window at the kitchen. I specifically chose this apartment so that I could keep him. Meet Akihiko, my beloved cat. He rubbed his head against my foot. I carried him up like a baby - because that's what he wants. 

He is a cat that I just found in the streets years ago, when I was still studying in college. major in creative writing. I love cats, but my mother didn't let me have one, so I decided that I will have a cat as soon as I start living alone. I thought about what kind of breed I will get, but then I saw him. He was just a little kitten back then. He was so thin and dirty, and when I took him home, I washed and fed him. His beautiful grey fur showed. 

I lied down my bed after changing my clothes, and looked up to the ceiling, while Akihiko slept on the bed. I thought about my lacking. My characters don't decide like real human beings. That's because I isolated myself from other people so I didn't have the chance to observe their actual behavior. I kind of regret that. I wish I knew earlier that writing isn't just learning from books. I have to do something about it. 

But it is time for work. 

I stood up and I realized I am shedding a tear. I didn't yawn or anything, but I definitely felt disappointed. I wiped it and went to change into my working clothes.

Hattori, a girl that aspires to have one of her light novels to be published. Her dull life where nothing ever happens changed after she met and fell in love with Ishida. However, her dreams to become a published author depends on her relationship with her childhood friend, Takeda who always have been with her and loves her. 

What will she choose? A life with her dreams or a life with her love?

Chapter One: Eleanor

"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." - Thomas Merton. 

A lot of people say that we are meant to lose ourselves before we get to know who we are. As a child, I didn't believe them; but as I grew older, I started thinking that maybe they were right after all. Famous people like Mahatma Gandhi, Helen Keller, Theodore Roosevelt, and many others lost themselves before they knew who they were and their life purpose. 

I am torn between achieving my dreams and pleasing my parents. I stared at the blank canvas and paintbrushes on the left side of my room and the medical books on the bedside table. I dreamed of having my own art studio and gallery ever since I visited the art exhibit downtown with my parents when I was a child. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I looked around the art exhibit as I pulled myself close to my mother. I was scared to get lost in the crowded place. I followed her wherever she went. I looked at the paintings hanged at the wall, every painting tells a story. However, one painting caught my eye and it was a portrait of a woman and a man kissing under a tree. The orange leaves were on the ground, adding more touch of romance to the painting. Autumn. It was in autumn when this two people shared a kiss. It looks so genuine and raw for me. Even though I was a child, I felt the emotions pouring out of the painting — love and passion. 

Art is something unexplainable yet you could feel so many things as you appreciate it. It is something so magical, it could make me feel anger, passion, love, melancholy, and more at the same time. That is why I fell in love with art. 

At the age of 7, I started visiting art exhibits more often. My parents supported me. They took me to every exhibit that takes place in our town. I started painting too. I forced them to enroll me in painting classes during the summer. I took all the lessons by heart. Every line, stroke, and curve makes me fall in love with art more and more everyday. I grew fond of mixing different colors to create a new one. 

Since then, I have painted a lot of images that are enough to fill my room. Now that I am 18, my parents talked to me about college. I told them that I wanted to major in Arts, they opposed. They wanted me to take up Medicine for college in order to earn more money because according to them, art is something to do for fun and not as a job. I agreed nonetheless, thinking that they were right. As a result, they bought me medical books so that I could read in advance during summer. 

I read the books, and learned many information, but I was unhappy. I didn't enjoy learning how to cure diseases, or learning the different names of medications. Studying medicine is one of the hardest majors out there and I salute those who are taking it, but it wasn't for me, that is why I didn't enjoy it. 

I spent the whole summer reading the books, trying to find something that could peak my interest and make me decide to pursue in studying it. 

I couldn't.

My thoughts were dismissed when I heard a faint knock on my door. I stood up from my bed and fixed it before slipping on a robe and fluffy slippers. When I opened the door, I saw my mother with a small tray for breakfast.

"Good morning darling. I have prepared you a small breakfast to fill your stomach through the morning." 

I greet her back with a simple good morning and thank you as I let her in. She sets it down on the bed and I ate quietly as she looked around my room.

My mother is a successful woman. Dressed in a red pencil cut dress and black blazer paired with black pumps, she showcases how she carries herself. She had her dirty blonde hair up in a bun. It wasn't always like this; she told me that she grew up in Pennsylvania joining her father play the piano in gatherings with ambitions of becoming a doctor, which she achieved. She worked hard for it. Getting part-time jobs and a scholarship helped her achieve who she is now. She wanted me to be successful as her and my father. They are both doctors. Her being a cardiologist, and him being a neurologist. They built a hospital in our town along with their friends who are also doctors. 

They wanted me to inherit the hospital and continue to run it. However, I didn't want any medicine related job. I wanted to paint, to learn more about the history of art, to meet people with the same passion, and to see paintings from different places. 

But I didn't want to disappoint them. That is why I am trying my best to be interested in medicine. I minimized my time doing paintings and read books instead. Maybe if I expose myself in the books, I would become interested in it. 

My mother sat down the bed as I took the last bite of my pancakes. I finished drinking my milk and set the tray aside. 

"Honey, I wanted to talk to you about something."

She sounds serious. What could have happened?

"Yes, mother. About what?"

"It's about you..." She started. I could feel my heart beating so fast, I am nervous about what she is going to say. Then she continued, "...remember the Joneses?"

"Yes. What about them?"

"Well, as you know, the Joneses are very close to us. We met up yesterday in a coffee shop to have a chat. We thought that you and Fletcher would be a great couple and decided that you two should get married as soon as you both graduate from medical school."

What?!

I  am  at  a  loss  to  understand  as  to  why  people  describe  love  as  a  personal  story.  Love  is  not  the  story of  one  or  a  few  individuals,  it  is  a  universal  story  because,  there  is  hardly  anyone  in  the  world  who has  not  passed  through  this  experience.  The  only  difference  lies  in  the  truth  of  acceptance  and hypocrisy  of  denial.  Through  the  words  scattered  in  the  pages  of  this  book,  I  have  endeavoured  to interpret  the  way  in  which  love  and  religion  influenced  me.  The  battle  of  love  and  religion  was fought  by  my  heart  and  bitterly  experienced  by  my  soul  but  I  leave  it  to  you  to  decide  whether  it  was won  by  love  or  religion.  I  have  never  aimed  at  establishing  the  superiority  of  love  or  religion.  There were  only  a  few  questions  which  needed  to  be  answered  realistically.  In  this  clash  of  love  and religion,  some  new  questions  appeared  to  be  cropping  up  inn  my  mind  and  I,  therefore,  request  that this  book  should  be  read  only  by  those  who  have  the  courage  to  confront  new  questions  in  life. Answer  is  however,  not  compulsory.




Its a translation of a Urdu novel

Back in England, Art was backing his bag for school. His parents were going to take him to Diagon Alley to get his second year school books and supplies. Amelia was busy at the Ministry and he didn't want to bother her. In his muggles clothes, he made his way towards Diagon Alley. Art could tell his parents were nervous as he took out his wand and tapped the right brick, causing the wall to collapse on itself. He guided them through the hole. 

"This is Diagon Alley." he said, showing them the countless stores and busy streets. Taking their hands, he pulled them towards Gringotts to pull out money. This was Arts first time doing it so he was a little nervous himself. 

Entering the bank, he saw a Goblin sitting at the front desk. Bella let out a small yell before calming herself down while Tim eyed the creature. 

"Artland Cason, here for a withdrawal." he gave him the key Amelia gave him for his family's vault. 

The goblin looked at him and took the key before calling another goblin over. "He will guide you to your vault." the goblin said in a gruff voice. 

Art nodded and told his parents to stay here while he gets his money. Bella nodded but still looked a little frightened of the goblin. Art smiled and reassured her it wouldn't do anything. Getting on a tiny cart, they went deeper into the earth and passed many vaults. Going deeper and deeper they finally arrived at the Cason vault. On the outside of the vault door, was a large golden ox and a mountain lion facing each other. 

"A Re'em? And a Wampus?" Art asked confused. Why would there be these two creatures be on the vault door? 

Inserting the key, the door opened for the goblin. In the vault was a mountain of gold that reached the roof. It wasn't just money though, old books and valuables could be found in the vault. At the back of the vault was a large coat of arms with a Re'em and a Wampus on each side with a flame in the back. There was a motto written on the bottom 'per incendia belli vincimus'. 

"Through the flames of battle… we are victorious." Art translated the latin. Was the Cason a warrior family? And why are their two beasts in their coat of arms? 

With so many questions he entered the vault and put some gold into his bag. He also grabbed a few books from the vault. Getting his money, he soon left Gringotts with the Sullivans. They made their way to Flourish and Botts were he bought his second year books. He also was told to buy a Healing book and one on Occlumency. He left the store and went to buy new robes because he had grown over the last year. Passing by Ollivanders he paused before entering the store. 

Same as before, a soft voice came from deep into the store, "Mr. Cason, how nice of you to visit my shop. How can I help you?" 

Looking at the old man Art greeted him. "Mr. Ollivander, I have a question about my wand." 

"13 inches. Red Oak and dragon heartstrings. What about it?" he asked, remembering his wand. 

"Yes." Art told him the story of how the wand spread a warm feeling throughout his body and how he had strange dreams. 

Hearing this, Ollivander took Art's wand and look over it. A flash of light seemed to shoot across his eyes. 

"If I had to guess Mr. Cason, there are two possible reasons. One is that the wand was testing you if you are worthy of it. The other is that some of the dragon's conscience is still in the wand." Ollivander said, slowly as he handed back the wand to Art. 

"Will this affect my magic?" Art asked. 

"It shouldn't. You must trust your wand and in turn it will trust you." 

Leaving the store, Art felt more confused than before but he but it to the back of his mind and finished buying his supplies. In a week he would be on his way back to Hogwarts. After getting home, Art started reading through the books he found in his family's vault. One was their family history which he found incredible. 

Apparently his ancestor traveled the world before settling down in England. He had met incredible beasts and brought a few home with him, a Wampus and Re'em. 

Re'em was a large golden ox, it's blood gave temporarily strength to the user. His ancestor drank the blood everyday for a year, causing his eyes to turn golden and give him permanent increase in strength with an increase of magical strength as well. The Wampus was gifted with hypnosis and Legilimency and found in North America. The large cat was a guardian of the family, why it was put on their coat of arms. The two beasts followed him in many battles against the family's enemies. This was a family secret that the Cason had guarded for centuries. Art carefully put the book back into his bag.

The other book was about other rituals that the family had tried in the past. Art knew that Ritual Magic banded and considered dark magic in the wizardry world. He closed the book and put it away as well. Most of the experiments ended with the family member dying or being disfigured, making them stop the rituals. 

Art knew that he couldn't show anyone these books and put them back into the vault. Throwing aside those books he dove into his new books for school. Though he knew most of the spells he still wanted to read them. He also read his Healing and Occlumency books finding them interesting. He was most interested in protecting his thoughts from other people.

Art wrote letters to Fleur and Gabrielle, sending them with Gray. He made sure to tell Gray that he would be at Hogwarts by the time he returned. Soon Art was ready to go to Hogwarts. Bella and Tim drove him to King's Cross, giving him a hug he told them that he would write to them soon. Soon he was on Platform 9 ¾, he saw a bunch of red head talking loudly. 

"Fred your trunk." 

"I'm George mom." 

"Can't even tell your sons apart." 

"Oh shut up and give me a hug." the plump red haired women said. 

Art walked up to them, "Fred and George, how was your summer!?" 

"Art!" they said in unison, a bright smile on their face. 

"Hello Mrs. Weasley, I am Artland Cason." Art introduced himself. 

"Hello sweety, thank you for taking care of my sons. I know they cause trouble wherever they go." she said kindly, shooting a look at the twins. 

"Not at all ma'am. They are gifted wizards." he responded kindly, not throwing them under the bus. 

"Aren't you kind. You must come visit us soon." she said, ruffling his hair like his mom. 

The three of them soon found Lee and boarded the train. Finding an empty compartment, they started telling each other about their summers. Charlie had got a job in Romania taking care of dragons. Lee went and saw a professional Quidditch game. Art told them he had spent some of his summer in France with his grandparents. After buying some treats, the compartment was filled with laughter as Lee ate a Dung Bomb flavoured bean. 

They all changed into their robes as the train was going to arrive at Hogwarts soon. Art saw Cedric in the hallway and had a quick conversation with him. Cedric seemed to have matured, making him handsome and refined. 

Fred grumbled as he saw Cedric, muttering 'pretty boy' under his breath. They all grabbed their stuff and exited the train. They heard the familiar voice of Hagrid calling over the first years while they loaded into the carriage. 

"These carriages pull themselves?" Fred asked, sitting down. 

"No they are pulled by Threstrals." Art simply stated. 

"Where are they?" 

"You can't see them, only people who have seen death can see them." Art said. He researched them after seeing them his first year. 

"Death?" George asked shocked. 

Art nodded his head and stared at the skeleton horses, memories from that horrible night surfaced but he pushed them out of his head. 

"Can you see them?" Lee asked Art, who saw him staring at the empty space. 

Art nodded but didn't elaborate. The Threstrals started to pull them towards Hogwarts. 

A new year was starting at Hogwarts and Art was excited.

Artland Cason lost everything at a young age to the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters. Though it is years later his anger and hatred burn just as hot.

After that hectic day yesterday he figured it was a good idea to relax he spent about an hour in his arcade room ball pit submerged and just sitting there contemplating life like people do in the shower I must say it works wonders for the nerves he had sent his shadows out to do chores for the day one went to buy muggle books in London he can't just have nothing but magical books in his kingdom he needs things like school books books on politics and leading books on medical practices and all sorts of other things his book collection was soaring over hundreds of thousands thanks to looting the hogwarts library and the room of requirement and borgins collection he would have the elves sort it by type later and he needed his own forbidden section somewhere the gate would be good for this but he couldn't afford it. I mean he couldn't just steal everything could he?.....he could.....but the question is should he. plans were whirling around inside his head. no no he wouldn't he needs to follow the plan and stick to the story some of the things he can change others are more dangerous he remembered Pandoras warning and whew almost went off on a robbing spree I think I might have a problem OK no more stealing for this summer except riddles diary. yes yes good plan. he had plans for the basalisk if he could take it without killing it that is he only knew of roosters and that sword through the mouth speaking of the sword he might try to get that out of the hat he had sent him some nice lining and a new hat stand last christmas. back to the shadows tasks he had the one in muggle London for books he had one practicing spell combat at hogwarts in the room of requirement he had one buying things in the alley more books and the like and getting him some new clothes his were a bit Short on him now the other ones where just wandering deeper into unknown parts of the forbidden Forest getting new plants he could buy some but then he'd be getting farther away from his goal of the gate he only had to be patient he had a gold making stone and a farm making money nonstop as long as he could stop spending it. enough enough no use stressing over future problems I'm just going to make a pizza play some runescape maybe cut some trees get some affection from Luna and the girls and just relax. Daphne and tonks had started to sneak in at nights and cuddle with Lunas urgings their parents where all shocked about the trunk they got for cristmas but didn't know about the linked together part they had taken to customizing them when they got home tonks had pictures of rock bands and video games Ryan got her Daphne had made hers look more formal and neat with a kind of office vibe going on and started to learn about muggle politics with her laptop Ryan got them tonks just liked YouTube and Luna liked animal planet. all different flavor girls but best friends. he got some visits from Harry who complained about Noone messaging him when Ryan had his elves capture dobby in the act and took him to his kingdom where he was bonded to Ryan and away from the malfoys the kingdom works like that it instantly makes me number one over bonds like that and breaks the old one dobby was very thankful and spilled the beans to me about malfoys plot. but I already had counters ready if I take the book and stuff it in my inventory it does Noone else any good also I'm gunna grab the diadem. this year now that voldemort is gone I'm going to loot that entire room to the ground and sell everything i might get enough for the gate. i wonder how my system will respond to horcruxes. I guess we will just have to find out. after a long hard day of woodcutting in runescape and some comedy shows with the girls before bed the day ended pretty well he still has a couple months to work out and just play before he has to deal with that oaf Lockhart since he's changing the second year plot he's gunna have to find a way to get rid of him he can't just kill him for being an attention seeking whanker he has his bottom line. hmm maybe an anonymous complaint with all the wrong things in his book to Amelia in the department of magical law enforcement he does basically memory wipe everyone after he steals their story more than likely that's illegal.

Reincarnation? Wishes? A System? Magic? Harem? Pudding? This story has all of those. Multiverse travel, kingdom building, fan boy dreams come true in this wild story starting in the Harry Potter world. Instantly op character? nope. sharingan at the start? nope. shameless Mc? yep. shameless comedy? yep. NTR. nope. 

Just to let everyone know this is my first story English is my native language I planned 0 chapters in this whole book and I literally started writing it because I simple wanted to read it myself. It contains parts from bringing the farm to another world, shadow hack, and supreme Anime system. leave any advice you want I read all comments and try to take them into account.


(disclaimer I only own my characters I personally make) also there will be some grammar errors and some plot holes think of this as a rough draft I'm just winging it basically at this point lol doing well so far tho I plan to go back later to fix small things like speech and paragraphs sometimes I miss things. be gentle it's my first time.
