after living so long being nobody in his world, being humiliated by his appearance, being rejected and betrayed he has nothing left to lose until he dies alone in his room until he realizes that he has been given a new opportunity in another world but now he would be extremely powerful.

A superhuman, no one knows how powerful he is, no one knows his face. He went rampage killing the villains and heroes.

'Destroy Earth' was like an earthshaking super bomb that exploded in the deepest part of Li Yao's soul.

Li Yao did not want to be dumbfounded because it would make him look stupid, but he could not stop himself from being dumbfounded because the explosive truth was truly most staggering!

However, he jerked hard, almost ripping his self-awareness apart, and jumped out of the surface of the ocean of his soul, leaving the 'internal vision state' and returning to reality!
"Not good. Fellow Cultivator Li's soul is in disorder. He is in great danger!"
"Fellow Cultivators, let's help him to stabilize his soul now!"
"How is it possible? Why is such a powerful force hidden deep inside his soul? What is it—"
Li Yao immediately heard the most astonished exclamations from Meng Chixin, Wu Suiyun, Yan Liren, and Master Bitter Cicada. He sensed that four overwhelming forces surged into his body, trying to close the crack in the deepest part of his soul, only to trigger the counterattack of the force deep inside his soul that was even more overwhelming. He also heard the high-energy nutrition liquids extracted from infinite Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures uttering bubbling sounds as if they were boiling. Before the shivering of the soul died down, the high-pressure cabin whose shell was half a meter thick already had a world-shaking explosion. Thankfully, Li Yao had known the danger of entering the Divinity Transformation Stage in the first place. He had deployed defense rune arrays of the highest level outside the cabin, and no staff other than the four unparalleled experts were inside the room offering help. After the examination, Li Yao decided that he was not wounded or left with too many hidden problems. He was finally able to take a breath in relief.
As long as he wanted to, he could wake up by himself at any moment.
But he would rather stay in the medical cabin for a while long to consider some… minor issues while he was floating.

The mental devil crawled out of a certain inconspicuous corner and pretended to be utterly shocked. Covering the mouth with its hands, it shrieked aloud, "I did not know that this would be the truth. We are actually the ultimate supervillains who will destroy Earth!"
The form of the mental devil had greatly changed. The mental devil grinned hideously. "This is all thanks to you. Although your attempt to enter the Divinity Transformation Stage was not a complete success, it was not a failure either. Your brain has been further expanded, and your level was slightly upgraded. In the meantime, an overwhelming amount of negative emotions popped up, which were even darker than those from Mo Xuan and Lu Qingchen. After swallowing them, I am naturally stronger than before!"
"I know that," Li Yao said. "But you obviously can change your style however you want, can't you? So, even if you are indeed stronger right now, why do you have to put on six pairs of chicken wings and a pair of bull horns?"
"Well," the mental devil replied, "the change of style was mainly meant to build up the atmosphere with consideration to the revelation that we will destroy Earth."
It sniffed and retreated the horn, the wings, and the bloody armor. Sitting down in midair, it held its cheeks and looked at Li Yao solemnly before it went on to comfort him. "I know that you are in too bad a mood to accept everything. But brother, on second thought, this incident is actually quite reasonable although it is outside our expectations!"
Li Yao's eyebrows were furrowed even harder. "Hey, hey, hey. Would you care to explain why it is reasonable at all?"
"Look. Most of the crises that we have been involved in share something in common. The one who seems righteous, bright, and kind and serves as a representative of justice is always the supervillain in disguise!" the mental devil analyzed carefully. "Also, the brighter, kinder, and more justified they appear and the more enormous power they have, the greater supervillain they will be!
"Yan Xibei, Xiao Xuance, Zhou Hengdao, Lu Zui, Extraterrestrial Devil Mo Xuan… Without any exception!
"Then, here comes the question. After shattering the schemes of Mo Xuan, Lu Qingchen, and the extraterrestrial devils behind them, unifying the edge of the cosmos, and even having a wife who has been elected as the Speaker of the Federation, who else in the thousands of square lightyears around can possibly be more powerful and righteous than Vulture Li Yao, the dominator of three Sectors and the Black Wind King?

Just because a voice in my head tells me to? Long Yangjun was quite right. Will I simply do as the voice commands like an idiot if the voice asks me to eat sh*t?
"No. I am not going to destroy the funny Earth at all. Besides, I don't even know where Earth is or if it exists at all!"


“Even if this universe is truly nothing more than a brutal, bloody, shadowy forest, we Cultivators will burn all that we have just to give off a single weak flickering spark in the darkness!

At the instant that she had this realization, Lauren's eyes widened in panic as she knew how f**ked she is right now.

Glacia, from what Lauren knew, was a Supervillain of the Grand Point City.

She's the leader of the group Children of the Jotunn, and they basically control a portion of the city.

She holds legal and illegal businesses all over the city, with her using her power to maintain these establishments.

She was a natural businessman and a villain, as she rules her whole organization with an iron hand.

Anyone who betrays her will either be dead or missing, and those who dare to cross her path doesn't meet any good end either.

Because of these things, Glacia naturally was considered to be a Supervillain who needs to be arrested.

Attempts to capture her however had failed, due to her power.

Glacia had two aspects on her power.

The first one was cryokinesis, which allows Glacia to manipulate ice in different ways and even force its creation.

This aspect was the one that gave Glacia her moniker 'Ice Queen of the West'.

Obviously, if cryokinesis was her only power, that will not be enough to let her elude arrest.

What made Glacia dangerous was the second aspect to her power.

And that is that the longer you fight Glacia, the weaker you become.

When Glacia enters into her  combat state , she will constantly release a 'weakening aura' that will affect anyone around her. 

This weakening aura had a gradual effect, making anyone exposed to it feel sluggish and slow.

The longer one was exposed to this weakening aura, the weaker they will get.

And once this weakening aura was combined with Glacia lowering the temperature to below freezing point, anyone fighting her will face a definite handicap.

These two aspects of her power was what had allowed Glacia to remain free here in Grand Point City.


Lauren naturally was unhappy with this, as it was people like Glacia who make life in Grand Point City difficult.

But even if she was feeling unhappy, she perfectly knows how to pick a fight.



"Sorry, I got lost! I will be going out of here already!" Lauren said as she slapped the road with her right palm.

Even if Lauren wanted to have her debut right now, she still knew that it is plain suicide to just fight a Supervillain on her first night.

Lauren was not sure if she can even survive fighting against Glacia if she fights her right now. Well, she is not planning to fight her anyway…

After she slapped the road, Lauren jumped away, leaving the symbol + stuck on the road.

The + symbol glowed for a second before Lauren activated it.

"What is this trickery?" Glacia snarled from within her Ice Armor as she saw the + symbol on the road. "Are you using this to fight me?"

By this point, Lauren noticed that the bespectacled man who was talking with Glacia earlier was already gone.

Lauren was not sure how this bespectacled man was able to disappear quickly, but this is advantageous for her right now, as she will only have to escape from Glacia herself.


"No, I am using it to run away." Lauren replied as she pulled out something from her jacket.

It was a lighter, which Lauren immediately lit.

She then threw the lit lighter on the road as she ran away.

"Nobody can just run away from me, young lady." Glacia said as she raised her arms to attack Lauren.

But before she could do so, the fire of the lighter hit the road, and a moment later, the whole road was aflame.


"What!" Glacia looked at the flaming road with surprise as she saw its intense flames trying to eat her up. "Hmph, little tricks like this won't hurt me!"

Glacia tried to raise her foot, but she halted as she found her foot suddenly stuck on the road.  Glacia looked at her foot as she managed to piece out what Lauren had done to her.

"You little b**ch!"


What Lauren did was just simple.

Once she placed the + symbol on the road, she added the Flammability Property on the road, which came from nearby diesel tank.

With the road now imbued with Flammability Property, Lauren had no problems lighting it up in flames.

These flames however were unable to hurt Glacia.

But Lauren was not aiming to use these flames to hurt Glacia.

She was using it to trap her.

Because it was currently burning, , the asphalt on the road had no choice but to melt, turning into a puddle of asphalt goo.

Once this asphalt goo came into contact with the foot portion of Glacia's Ice Armor, they solidified, trapping both of Glacia's feet in place.


Glacia might have cyrokinesis and weakening aura, but that does not give her superhuman strength to break the solidified asphalt trapping her feet.


"Very impressive, you thought of slowing me down with this." Glacia muttered as she looked at her trapped foot.

"However, this is not enough!"

At the instant that she said these words, Glacia shot three ice spikes. 

One was headed towards the escaping Lauren, while the other two crashed right into the solidified asphalt.

The solidified asphalt crumbled when the ice spikes hit it, freeing Glacia's feet.

As for the last ice spike, it hit the fleeing Lauren on the back, sending her sprawling down the road.

"Gah!" Lauren shouted as she only stopped rolling after 5 rolls.

She let out a cough as she slowly stood up, monitoring the amused Glacia who was approaching her with an amused expression on her face.

"You're still alive from that? How impressive. Most Heroes that I face gets impaled by that." Glacia muttered as she saw two glowing x symbols underneath Lauren's clothes. "Hmmm... it seems like your power allowed you to live… but how long can that sustain you?"

".…" Lauren had no reply to that, as she was still busy acclimating through her pain.

While Lauren was running away earlier, she did not waste time as she slapped both of her hands on her kevlar vest.

This allowed her to place two x symbols on her kevlar vest.

Once she had done this, Lauren chose to double the shock absorption property of her kevlar vest.

This turned out to be a good decision as her enhanced kevlar vest was able to tank most of the force that the ice spike brought to her. 

The remaining force however that entered her body was enough to rattle her organs.

"Blergh." Lauren's  body trembled as she felt the urge to vomit, as her stomach was pretty scrambled by the attack.

It was only her dignity and fear that was stopping her from puking out.

"You did well for newbie." Glacia said as she looked down on the prone Lauren. She then looked at Laruen's body, as if she was checking her out.

After observing Lauren for a while, Glacia suddenly wore a smirk as she said,
 
"Hmm.. you know what, I will let you survive if you pledge to serve me right now. After all, you look quite beautiful… you might do good on accompanying me in bed…"

Despite her current situation, Lauren could not help but blush as she heard what Glacia said.

It was quite known in the Grand Point City that Glacia was into women.

Nobody can deny that, as there were reports and stories of Glacia abducting women and making them her 'property'.

Because of that, most of the beautiful women in the Grand Point City try to avoid Glacia if they can.

Of course there are some women that do the opposite, with them approaching Glacia instead of avoiding her.

After all, Glacia was a beautiful woman herself, with her pretty face, her long, slim legs, her round rear and her large bust that was emphasized by her current attire…


"No, bad Lauren!" Lauren shook her head after thinking of these things, as she knew that it was not her time to ogle at a Supervillain's assets.

"Hohoho, you seem to share the same interest as me…" Glacia smirked as she saw Lauren's reaction. "How about it? Will you join me? I can make you feel as if you were in heaven…"

From the way that Glacia talked right now, it was as if she was not perturbed about what Lauren did to her.

Well, Glacia can afford to do this, as she was powerful.

Lauren took some deep breaths to calm herself as she propped her body up. 

She raised her head as she glared at the Supervillain, with her face wearing a grim frown as she said,

"There is no way that I, a Hero, will follow a Supervillain!"

Ok, Lauren was sure that Glacia was pretty hot and sensual, but that still does not change the fact that Glacia was a Supervillain.

There is no way that Lauren, a Hero, will just follow Glacia.

That is not how Lauren operates.

"Oh, that's too bad." Glacia said, even though she did not look that disappointed with what Lauren said. "Actually, I do not need you to agree, as I will take you here by force, whether you like it or not!"


"Now!" At the instant that the supervillain said these words, Lauren knew that she must make her escape now.

Her mind flashed as she tried to think of a way to distract Glacia.

"There!" Lauren's eyes widened as she began to see her path to victory. 

Both of her palms glowed as she readied herself to place the symbols on her target object.

Glacia naturally saw what Lauren was about to do, so she immediately pounced toward Lauren, with her power manifesting a gigantic Ice Claw that will grab Lauren.


"Gah!" Lauren should have been the one who activated her ability faster, but something had impeded her from doing so.

Glacia's weakening aura, which had been already working at full blast earlier, has started to affect Lauren.

Combine that with her internal injuries, and Lauren's reaction time was much slower than before.

The gigantic ice claws grabbed Lauren before she can activate her ability, locking her in place as the cold invaded her body.

"Good…" Glacia purred as Lauren did her best to pound the ice claw. "You won't regret what will happen to you, that I assure of."


Lauren's only reply to that was a glare, but even her glare was slightly broken as her facial muscles were cramping up already.

"Hohoho.." Glacia then started to laugh, as she tightened her grip on Lauren. "Both of us wi-"

"Crash!"

A sudden crash suddenly sounded out behind Glacia, interrupting her from talking.

"Who?" Glacia spun around, as she tried to look at the disturbance.

"Oh, did we intrude on something intimate?" A drawling voice said, as Glacia and Lauren observed the cause of the crashing sound. "Maybe we should leave you two alone?"

The source of the crashing sound were three people who suddenly appeared in the area.

The trio was composed of one male and two females, and the contrast in their appearances was quite stark.

The male seemed to be a teenager, although the cloak and the opera mask that he was wearing makes it hard to confirm his age.

The woman on his left seemed to be a beautiful woman, with long, black hair caressing her white, slender legs.

Even if this woman was wearing a mask too, both Lauren and Glacia could not help but gulp as they felt desire upon seeing this woman.

As for the other woman in the trio, she seemed to be a little different, but she can still be considered to be beautiful.

Her green skin and her mask was unable to hide her voluptuous body that was even more curvaceous compared to Glacia's!

The trio were currently busy staring at Glacia and Lauren, who were both staring back at them too.

This stare-off only lasted for a second before Glacia and Lauren gave their answers.

"F**k off young man. Leave those two women beside you, and I will let you live."

"Please help me!"


The man from the trio seemingly smirked as he received two contrasting answers from Glacia and Lauren.


This man tilted his head, staring at Glacia specifically as he said,

"Well, well, well, it's pretty obvious here that you are a villain, who was about to kill an honest Hero. Why should I, a virtuous lad, leave a Hero from your evil clutches? There is no way that I will allow that!"

"Hmph. Foolish words. I guess it is time for me to-" Glacia's words however were cut off again as the black haired woman from the trio suddenly slashed her sword towards Glacia!

Lauren heard a slicing sound, and before she knew it, she was back to the ground again.

Lauren looked back at Glacia, with her eyes widening as she realized that the ice claw that was gripping her earlier had been disconnected from Glacia!

The cut that made that disconnection was clean, and from the way the cut was angled, there was no doubt that the cut came from the black haired woman's attack!

"What? That is so soft." The man from the trio commented as he seemingly stared at the cut that the woman made. "I thought you armor will be stronger than what I expected… Hmm… It seems like even I can make wrong predictions too."

"I will kill you!" That was Glacia's only reply as she jumped towards the trio, with countless ice spikes appearing around her, and with her weakening aura blasted at its full power.  "I will kill you!"


"Do it if you can." The man replied as he and his companions made their move. "I want to see the caliber of Superhumans, and you will be the one that will show it to us."

"F**k you!"

After all the things that he had done in his life, Alex realized that it was already his time to die. 

But a sudden encounter with a weird person will turn his whole life around.

The formerly about-to-die teen shall now be a Traveler of different worlds!



"You are an Esper? Then come and taste my saber!"

Unless Renegade did something. And Renegade of course did something. He went to the area he killed the ambassador in, and of course the area was covered with police trying to collect all the dust. In an instant, the dust was in Renegades hands. The police were shocked, and after a few moments of silence from the gathered crowd, orders were shouted and officers scattered. Renegade was already gone by then.

At that point, he had a choice. Resurrect the disgusting creature, or his actual choice. So he used the dust and resurrected the Cadha. When he did, however, he used Gods creation to make the Ambassadors brain easily controlled, but only by the sound of Renegades voice. With this, his plan began. 

He ordered the Ambassador to continue on his original quest and to await further instruction. He then waited for a few days. Once the Ambassador was in negotiations, his plan unfolded. It was truly simple. The Ambassador, being primitive as he was, would clearly be offended by the Human negotiators that were speaking with him. Through this, he would become enraged, and he would attack them. Once they died, he would sneak onto a warship and fly back to his homeworld, where he would then reverse engineer and create a fleet. By the time news spread and war was declared, the world would have fallen. Their off planet fleets would them chase the Ambassadors army, but they would be too slow. The Cadhas struck first, and always won the war. When the fleets finally met, all planets would have been destroyed and they would destroy each other, ending the universe in a plastic implosion. 

And this, of course, was ordered by Renegade. And, like any protagonists plan, it went without a hitch. 
Because Renegade is perfect.

But of course, this wasn't as much fun as Renegade wanted it to be. It was like watching fetnlix. You can stream videos, and the universes are so interesting, but you can't interact with them. Renegade now had that chance, so he reset time using gods power and this time, didn't kill the Ambassador. Instead, he decided to become a hero of legend. He created a building, and following all the proper laws, started a hero agency. He had an ad posted online and soon he had his first interview. It was with the blur, the hero that he had so easily defeated last time they faced. He decided this hero was skilled enough to join the agency, since he had almost held his own against a literal God. 

In moments, he had his first hero. Now, while this seems to be a very quick process, he had taken two days to set up his business. And since he'd built it for heroes, it was an impenetrable fortress, disguised as a small building. He sent out the Blur for his first day of work immediately after hiring him. This was all going according to Renegades plan. It was very simple, and just vague enough for some room for the heroes to win in the end. 
Step 1; create a hero agency recognized by the law.
Step 2; hire every hero that is powerful enough to help each other in step 3.
Step 3; reveal himself to be a villain, and face every hero at once. 
Renegade would repeat this plan throughout many universes. In this one, however, his first universe, he wanted to see what this plan would entail. And so, he began his plan, working and cultivating step two. Within a week, he had 10 heroes (all of whom had powers he had copied) with the following names and powers;

Blur, who had the power of speed. He is able to go up to 100 mph, and his punches are powerful due to his speed, but he constantly breaks his limbs due to his punches. He also can create fires from the friction of his steps.

Volt- the electric hero. He can channel electricity and throw it from any part of his body, though he has better control when he throws through his limbs. 

RockJaw- a golem made of rock. He is very large and powerful, and his jaw is very large, hence the name. He can eat cars whole, and he gains power based on what he ate last. 

Frost- not the most creative name, but a woman who can control ice, water, and the temperature of each. Her favorite weapon to use with water is, as the name suggests, ice.

TechnoBlitz- a woman with the ability to control any technology she touches. She can hack anything, use any computer, and can even create robots with a flick of her wrist. By control, I mean if she touches a computer she can make it fly, transform, or even explode. I mean CONTROL. 

Steve- a man with super strength. Other than that, he is completely average. 

Copy- he has the ability to create copies of anything he touches. It is half as durable as the original object. He enjoys teriyaki soba. 

Frag- another man with the innate ability to turn what he touches into a bomb. Whether it be a car, a card, or a person. 

Gradia- a woman with the ability to channel the earth and nature. She can almost create life. She is named Gradia because nobody had any good ideas for a name for her.

And of course, we had Renegade. 
Their first mission as a team came about due to a supervillain that was very powerful. Renegade was in his bed, since it was 2:37 in the morning, when his phone buzzed. It was an alert from the police station. There was a man murdering in and destroying the town hall. He looked out the window and saw him.

The Raven had arrived.

God makes invincible guy that has adventures and kills people secretly for fun.

After I have done constructing the Hell, I smile with satisfaction. I already see how The Hell would work. It can be good and bad at the same time.  It can be law if it can get an incredible rule, and it can be damaging if it gets a terrible ruler. The rules I set is for Hell is to shape itself. It because Hell is a place full of law to bind the evil and sinful mortal. The Hell I want to create is a place where a person can get a second chance they can't, went they alive. After they turn into a devil, their prayer will not be heard or seen by gods and can hurt themselves by it. 

It will be their trial if they change themself and get the enlightenment, they will turn into a True Devil. The True Devil is the purest form of  devil with a kind soul and incredible power. However, Incredible power doesn't mean they can instantly slay the Devil king. If he or she get alignment on the lesser devil stage, it will be slightly more powerful then others. Only their species change from the devil to True Devil. Following, True Devil is not kind to others even he has a kind soul. It will be the evilest of all devils and the cruelest of them all. 

He will do everything he can to lead them to the right path and always hide his feeling at the very bottom of their heart. Plus, True Devil will die and not immortal, and that the only way a devil can break their curse of immortality by becoming a True devil. How would you feel, life without freedom for eternity? They must be suffering to kill themself but could not. Devil, can't kill itself. He or she will be brought back to life for a couple of hours if they kill themselves. 

I look at the reverse mountain for a couple of minutes and fly to the right for another thousand light-years. Afterward, I create another reversed mountain. But this one is deeper, and the land is more destruction then Hell, it about 1000 level deeper. This place will be where the most chaotic creature will reside. They born just for the only purpose of destruction. They don't think and don't reason, they only rule by fear and strength. They don't have laws, and they bring destruction only for entertainment. They are lawless and don't take any orders from anyone accepts who are more powerful than them. They are Demon. 

This will be the home of demons, the lawless land. This land has no law to bind them, they can do whatever they want. They kill their kin, eat their kin, and breed with their kin and eat it afterward. They are catastrophic for all races. They don't think and only follow their instinct, and they also have high reproduction. They are just like a devil but with a mind full of chaos and destruction,  while a devil is full of scheming and surviving for a better life. Demon just pure destruction only wants to destroy. They also have a long life span up to 10,000 years afterward, they die and leave a pile of dust. But can they live that long? With their chaotic mind, they just kill their kin every day. This place will be called Abyss, The lawless land.  

This place is also extremely forbidden for any creature to enter. Even the most sinless person to go here, he or she will turn into a demon. Abyss just like Hell but different at the same time. Hell is for the sinful soul, while Abyss will not tolerate, sinful or sinless, they all will be consumed by the demonic madness. Even gods can go insane if they stay here for a long time, but they will not turn into a demon. Demon also needs to evolve to get stronger. But it, not demon evolution, it demonic ascension. From lesser Demon, greater Demon, and the demon lord. The Demon doesn't have a ruler, they were just subject of destruction!    <Who needs a ruler then> 

While the devil starts from the surface to the bottom of Hell! The Demon will start from the bottom to surface of Abyss. It because I need them to reproduce to evolve until its population reaches the top. When that happens, I leave an entry for them to go toward the mortal planes, and we can start the war. The holy war, hehe you think you all can live a lazy life and do nothing for eternity, you wrong mortal!!! You wrong!! I will make your life a living hell.

Ha...ha..h...a that was tiring!! But fun as well, I think I really born to be a supervillain. Fortunately for my children, I was kind-hearted as well. I will pass all my plans to Yukile and Yukine, and they can do my work. I am a creator, not a god! I just created things! Not plan someone else fate! 

Afterward, I make the worm-like creatures and put it in a ball size of my hand. Following, I throw it into the Abyss. The worm is a demon, even though it, nothing much now it will evolve, evolve and evolve until it reaches a state where a demonic ascension was a thing. Afterward, I fly back to the mortal planes and see the primordials and the gods happily chat with each other. As they see me, they bow and welcome me. 

We welcome you back, Creator!

I nod at them and look at the primordials and speak.

I will keep all your child in the mortal planets, what are you all want to do?

The primordials beasts look at each other, while Yukile and Yukine just stand without making a sound. They look at each other for quite some time, as they realize they keep me waiting they apologize

Please forgive our rudeness creator!!

It aright all of you can talk first. I'll wait for you. 

Thank you, Creator! But, if you order us to leave all our children, we will obey.

I'm not ordering you, I ask you!

I reply with a warm smile.

They say in unison.

A stream of tears was flowing from every primordial beast's eyes. They start to ask me in a low voice while looking downward.

Have we done anything against your order, that you wipe your memory from us... [sob...sob]

Did we all not follow your order, to be with our children... [sob...sob]

I come to them and embrace all of them and reply to them slowly.

You all did nothing wrong, my children. It's normal for a parent to be with their children. I will restore it back! When all of you die, I will create a place for all of you and your children to lives. In there you will live forever, and you will have all your memory about me, I will personally come and greet all of you. This is my promise for you all my first creation and children.

WE will never forget you, FATHER!! 

After they shout, I flick my finger, and all of them faint and fall down to the mortal planes one by one. All their children follow them and fainted halfway and fall like their parents. Now all the primordials on all the planets, from Owatia to Astea.

Walking on the street Asahi suddenly remembered that in the original plot of My Hero Academia All Might would forget about the villain and that would cause some problem, but thinking about how he could fight against the slime on his own the blood inside his body began to boil.


A war-like aura began to surround him making some bird who were peacefully sitting on a tree flee far away from him. A powerful fighting intent began to rage inside his mind as if it wouldn't stop until he fought him.


'Is it a side-effect of the bloodline? I thought there wasn't supposed to have any.. or maybe I was already like that?' 


An explosion was heard not far away from him and fire coupled with fog were seen. Stopping his thought he stepped on the floor causing it to break and with a leap he left the street.

"Help me!"


"Ahh!"

"RUN FAST!"



Crys of despair was heard in the narrow street as the civilian began to flee in panic from the inside of this street. In the middle, a giant green slime, with a mouth and two eyes was standing.


Along with the scream, explosions came from the interior of this creature, a young man was trying to free himself from the grasp of this monstrosity, along with his struggle, explosion kept coming from his hands. He had a blond, whitish spiky hair with an unruly look that was filled with anger, hostility and... fear?


"He has a child as a hostage!" one of the heroes that were standing in front of the villain exclaimed.

A bulky man with strongly shaped muscle banged his fists together and began to shout toward the slime while rushing. "COWARD!"


Jumping in the air he threw a punch at the slimy creature causing a shockwave.

"Huh?"

"What is this thing?" exclaimed the man with confusion. "I can't grasp.." 

Without waiting for the man to finish speaking one of the tentacles formed by the slimes slammed him into a wall.


"Deathgoro!" A man with a costume akin to a bird exclaimed in both surprised and fear at seeing his friend getting hit.


"Careful!"


A second tentacle came crashing down toward him. He dodged jumping to his left.


"Don't come close!" ordered the slime.


"Aaaaaaah!" Suddenly the young man that was in the slime shouted while freeing himself from him. "I will not let myself be swallowed by a big pile of snot!"

Opening his palm he began to throw explosion toward the slime that was covering his hand.

"Trash!" He insulted while keeping sending explosion.


*Boom!* The explosion was so strong that it caused a gale to be formed inside the street and destroyed some of the windows.


'What power! I won the jackpot!' Roared the creature excitedly inside his mind. "With such quirk, I will be able to avenge myself!"


Excitedly he began to accelerate the swallowing of the young man. Meanwhile, at the end of the street, a group of curious people who were being blocked by policemen began to talk animatedly with each other.



"Who is this supervillain?"


"Look, here it is, Mount Lady, the new hero!" excitedly told a woman in the crowd.



There, a giant-like woman with a sexy body was running causing a tremor on the street, but because of her height, she couldn't come in and could only shield the crown with her arms from the wind.


On one of the highest building, a young man with long black hair was there watching with his golden eyes as a wooden man began to save people and a... fire truck which seemed to possess sentience was fighting fire? 


'I think I trained too much last month... Maybe I should have a slight pause?' His confusion was so great that he began to question himself until he understood with the help of the crowd that this was somehow a quirk. 'That still doesn't explain the main point, from where does the water come?'


While he was deep in his thought on the ground it seemed that the slime was beginning to fuse with the young man and the heroes couldn't help him because of their weak power, and could only afford to dodge.


"It's badly barred, right?" spoke a man in the crown in a low voice.

"Courage heroes!" encouraged a woman.



Asahi dropped down from the building he was on and stopped next to a skinny man with golden hair that was breathing roughly.


"It's so bad that no one is strong enough to send a punch powerful enough to destroy all the slime in the same moment without harming the young man nor the crowd with a single punch..." said Asahi in a low voice while looking at a skeleton like man that was watching him with a sharp look in his eyes.

Ignoring him he kept talking with the same calm voice while watching the hand he had on his on its side. "You see, I am pretty sure that someone named All Might arrested this villain but somehow here he is. And you have this strangely familiar aura around you.." 

Not talking anymore he began to look at him with a thinking expression while humming.

"Why don't you save him? It shouldn't be a problem with your power." Finally, All Might began to spoke with a hoarse voice.

"Because I am not the one who should." Answered Asahi with a calm voice.

"Then who should?!" Roared Allmight, hostility in his voice.

"You should stop talking and look carefully"

Along with his words, a young man with emerald-like hair began to run past the policeman, before long as he was about ten to twenty meters he threw his backpack toward the slime causing him to lose focus.

"Katchan!" uttered the man as he tried to free the other.

Looking at this scene, Asahi began to look toward Allmight who had a stunned expression, he smiled and began to talk with his calm voice. "I think that this little friend is quite good don't you think too? What did he say my legs moved on their own?"

Not wasting any more time Asahi dashed toward the slime bringing alongside him winds and smoke. Instantaneous he was in front of the slime who was looking at him with a frightened expression. Casually punching him, for the spectator it was a simple punch, no fancy display, no wind, no explosion, no light, a single word simple or casual.

But for this slime, this punch seemed to occupy the whole world, it was as if even if he was at the other side of the world this punch would still strike him, and as it was about to touch him he heard a quiet voice say something he will remember all his life. "Normal Punch."

And then, he exploded into nihility. Looking blankly at his palm for a few seconds, he retracted his hand, and began to look at the sky with a lonely expression as if he was saying 'Why couldn't you last this simple punch?'

Not minding the dumbfounded expression of Midoriya and Bakugo or the lovestruck expression from the girls in the crowd he focused on the sound he heard in his head.


"Host defeated a supervillain, points gained: 150."


"Because host defeated an enemy the system's shop has finally opened."

One day humanity was informed that they were only considered as an inferior species in the true universe where their homeworld was going to fuse. Only five years were given to them in order to train.


This is the tale of how Asahi Yoake grew stronger to face the incoming threats.

There were still over 4000 people alive on the plaza. However, Wavier already could not wait to sacrifice them to his master in exchange for greater powers.　
However, it did not matter. These living people were great sources of life force as well, especially when they were in despair. Their life force would escape their bodies, causing them to brim with endless potential.
This energy would then be extracted and become his power reserve against his enemies.　　　
On the plaza, the Undead Knights massacred fanatically. Flesh and blood splattered everywhere as cries and curses filled the area. Pain and suffering engulfed the entire Necropolis.　
"Ah, can anyone help me!"　
"Demon! Demon!"　
"Wavier, I curse you! I curse that you will burn in hell for 10000 years!"
Upon hearing those words, Wavier was not enraged. Instead, he was elated as he raised his arms and snickered, "Come, despair, rage, fear, unleash them all. These sounds are as beautiful as a piece of well-composed music. This sight is the heaven that which I seek. Ah, wonderful life force, come to me…"　　
Wavier snickered fanatically.
Misamier commended as she saw this scene, "Wavier, I must say that you look like a supervillain. I think that if you can pay a visit to the abyss one day, you will find it very suited to your tastes."
"Supervillain? No, I am the only villain detestable enough. Haha, the only one!"
However, as he spoke, Wavier suddenly grabbed his head and started crying. He wept as he grumbled, "The entire world hates me. Everyone wants to kill me; I have no choice; I was left with no choice! If they hate me, I can only kill them before they get to me…"　　　
Misamier stared at the psychotic Wavier and could not understand his actions. She then left this demon within a human shell without leaving any traces behind.
This fellow had extreme mood swings. No one knew what he would do next. She was slightly wary of him.
At that moment, there were less than half of the people surviving. The fresh blood that poured from the victim's wounds started concentrating together on the ground, forming a small gurgling bloody stream. The air in the plaza had also become a dark red color, engulfing the Necropolis in a blood mist. The stench of blood was so strong that it was difficult to breathe.　
It was then a few white colored figures appeared at the plaza entrance. Link and the assassination group were here.
The scene right in front of them was a hell of a bloody mess. In this hell, those undead were still fanatically taking the lives of the innocent. They had already gone insane.　
Upon seeing this scene, Joseph bellowed, "Wavier, come out right now!"　
At that moment, a captive of the Necropolis ran towards them as he shouted, "Save me, please save me…"　
Plop! His head suddenly fell down from his neck. Behind him, an Undead Knight walked forward with a bloodied sword in his hand. He kicked this headless body as he snickered coldly.　　
"Argh, go to hell!" Joseph's eyes widened with hate as he charged forward and swung his sword. He unleashed his full Battle Aura towards this Undead Knight.　
This Undead Knight then calmly blocked it with the sword in his hand, a bloody-red hue enveloping his sword.　
Boom! The collision of the dark and light forces caused an explosion. It caused the flesh and blood to fly through the area. A crater around 30 feet in radius was created from that explosion.
The two of them were comparable in strength.　　
This Undead Knight was not a nameless soldier. He was Wavier's prided underling, a Level-8 Undead Knight named Taroko. He looked at Joseph's infuriated face as he smiled and said, "Knight, there is no hurry. You will join him soon."
Joseph was startled. He realized that he had underestimated Wavier.
Wavier himself was very strong. However, the Undead Knights under him were also not to be trifled with. For example, the Undead Knight in front of him gave him immense pressure when they clashed swords.
He had no confidence in defeating this undead.
Joseph then retreated back beside Link after he calmed down and said, "Master, the situation is dire."　
Link the nodded and said, "I estimate a total of 26 opponents. Wavier, the succubus, and Undead Knights. All of them have a minimum strength of Level-7. There are even three Level-8 individuals. This will be difficult!" 　　
Although these Undead Knights did not possess a powerful soul and Battle Skills like a normal Level-7 Warrior would, their strength was truly at Level-7.
Raw power would mean something as well.　　
Even if they were lacking in battle experience, they could simply depend on their strong Battle Aura to carry them through. They could even overrun them with their numbers. In essence, this was a terrifying force they were fighting against.
Milda then whispered, "You plan is?"　　
Link already had an answer in his heart. He whispered, "Joseph, the Undead Knights are not a concern. The only person that is terrifying is Wavier. Start preparing now. I need you to be able to stop Wavier's soul from escaping when the time comes!"
"I understand!"
Joseph then turned to the rest of the Holy Knights and said, "We will start setting up the Soul Capturing Formation!"　　
The nine Holy Knights immediately followed the command. They dispersed and surrounded Joseph in a circle. They then released the Battle Aura. This time around, their Battle Aura did not scatter in all directions. Instead, it was all absorbed by Joseph, who was standing in the middle. 　　
Joseph then raised the holy cross sword in his hand as a golden ray of light shot into the horizon. At the same time, all the Holy Knights were enveloped by a strong radiance. The dark and sinister presence at the entrance of the plaza was immediately dispelled, turning it into a field of light.
Joseph was glowing brilliantly as well. His entire body was enveloped densely in Divine runes. He then prayed, "In the name of the God of Light, I, Joseph Hannibal, will judge the sins of the souls!"
At that moment, this knight would become the messenger of the God of Light. The moment Wavier's soul which was corrupted by darkness appears it would be instantly judged by the Soul Capturing Formation!
Link then took a step forward and told Nana, "Let's begin; clean up those Undead Knights! Start with the weakest!"
"I understand!"
Boom! Nana disappeared from her original position in an explosion sound and within a tenth of a second, an Undead Knight 60 feet away from her was beheaded.　　　　
Nana's figure hovered around the Undead Knight's corpse for a moment before she disappeared again with a bang. She was headed for her next target.
Milda then pointed her wand at the plaza as the thorn pendant on her neck started constricting. Her neck started bleeding, and the emerald crystal in hanging from the pendant became enveloped in a brilliant glow. Following which, three Golden Tree Spirits rushed into the plaza and started attacking the Undead Knights fanatically. In the face of such violent and concentrated attacks, the Undead Knights were completely occupied and could not attack the Magicians behind them.
Romilson then charged a Level-7 defensive spell in case of any emergencies.
He stared at Milda with a worried expression. He knew that the Golden Tree Spirits required vitality to move. Milda would not be able to hold out for a very long time.　
On the opponent's side, Wavier did not idle around as well. He asked Misamier, "Can you deal with that puppet?"　
"I will be able to stall her, but killing her would be impossible," she said. Nana had displayed exceptional learning capabilities in the previous battle. While Nana was still suppressed by Misamier a few moments ago, she immediately got the upper hand after a few rounds. If Misamier had to fight with such a terrifying being for a couple of rounds, she would eventually be defeated.
In this short period of time, Nana had already killed the third Undead Knight. Wavier than shouted, "Taroko, come back and deal with that magic puppet together with Misamier! We must destroy her!"
"This should be fine, I guess?" Wavier asked.
"Probably so."
She was a Level-8 demon with a Legendary soul. If she could not take down a magic puppet even after having the support of a Level-8 Undead Knight, she would become the laughing stock of her prestigious bloodline!　　
Following which, Misamier rushed forward together with Taroko.　　
Wavier then began his assault as well.
The greatest threat on the field now was the three Golden Tree Spirits. He had to first eradicate these irritating creatures. 　　
The best way to deal with plants was to use fire elemental spells. Wavier thought for a second before he pointed his wand at the plaza and said, "Serpent of Dark Flames!"

Demon God Spell
Effect: Makes use of life force to summon a giant serpent. This serpent will be composed purely of strong corrosive dark elemental flames.
(Note: The more life force one injects, the stronger the destructive power of the serpent!)　
Boom! With a loud explosion sound, the fresh blood on the plaza seemed to have come alive. It condensed into a blood pillar more than three feet wide. This pillar rose higher into the air, and when it reached the 60-foot mark, the blood disintegrated with a whoosh and turned into burning flames, taking the form of a crimson red flaming serpent.　　
"Burn those earthy creatures to a crisp!"
The giant serpent immediately turned its body and charged at breakneck speed towards the Golden Tree Spirits. It was extremely fast and ignored the attacks of the Golden Tree Spirits. Those vines turned into ashes the moment they came into contact with its body, rendering their attacks useless.　
This giant serpent possessed terrifying life force. The strength of its flams alone exceeded Level-8. The Golden Tree Spirits were no match for it at all.
High Elf Princess Milda seemed to grow paler for every vine that was destroyed by the serpent. The glow from the emerald hanging from the pendant also seemed to dim as the Golden Tree Spirits suffered damage.
This could not go on!　　
Link immediately took out the Statue of Saint Rafael. There was still half of the holy power remaining. He summoned a spatial lens and accumulated the power of the statue in one spot. Capitalizing on his previous experience, Link acted fast. Around one second later, a light beam extremely concentrated with holy energy more than one-foot-wide shot through the air. 　　
This light beam charged straight towards Wavier.
"I was just waiting for you!" Wavier waved his wand and used the giant serpent to block this light beam.　　
Boom! It was a terrifying clash of dark and light energy.　　　　
In an instant, dark flames splattered throughout the Necropolis and the holy beam of light scattered in all directions. The collision of two Level-8 spells had created a giant shockwave. The people who were lucky enough to survive the explosion were also blown away by the shockwaves. Those who were slightly further away lost their balance and tripped.
At that moment, all the prisoners knew that it was their chance to escape. All of them rushed towards the entrance of the Necropolis, hoping to get away from this terrifying place.　　
It was chaos.
Wavier stared at the escaping prisoners and snickered, "Trying to run? Impossible! Die!"
He waved his wand in the air and summoned another giant dark flame serpent onto the battlefield. This giant serpent then charged straight towards these surviving prisoners, devouring their life force along the way.
Wavier had stored way too much life force. Every single living creature that once set foot into the Necropolis and even those who were still surviving could very well become fuel for his spells. This was disastrous!　
The most powerful spell Link knew was the Spatial Sphere spell, which was only Level-7 in strength. Even after the effects of his epic quality wand, it was still some distance away from reaching Level-8 in strength. He had to use stronger and more powerful spells to deplete Wavier's life force resources!
Upon this thought, Link drank the Blessings of the Red Dragon Queen potion without hesitation.
The moment the potion reached his stomach, Link felt as though his soul was shaking. He felt as though he suddenly possessed great authority, as though all the elements around would listen to whatever he commanded. There would be no room for defiance.
He also realized that he could easily condense elements to an incredible concentration. The potion was not kidding when it promised that it could increase the power of all elemental spells by 500%.
Link now had ten seconds to wreck complete havoc on the Necropolis.
A frightening elemental storm surrounded Link's body. He stared at the brazen serpent on the battlefield and started his retaliation.
Special effects of the Burning Wrath of the Heavens: Flaming Surge!　
Spell Resonance, Titan's Hand! 　　
The casting speed of this spell was almost instantaneous. Under the effects of the epic quality wand, it's power was already increased by 350%. The Blessings of the Red Dragon Queen then increased it further by another 500%. After all these buffs, this spell reached the strength of a Level-8 spell!
The terrifying thing was that Link did not have to waste any more Mana Points for this increase in power. It was still the mana consumption rate of a Level-6 spell.　
"It truly is a godly potion!"　
Link commanded the hand to charge forward and grab onto the neck of the serpent. The Titan's Hand then squeezed its target tightly!
Boom! The Titan's Hand remained unscathed. On the other hand, the giant serpent had disintegrated!
The confrontation between the two spells ended in a complete triumph by the Titan's Hand.　　
However, that was not all. The Titan's Hand immediately made a turn in the air and changed form into a Titan's Fist, charging straight towards Wavier. 　　
There was not even the slightest amount of panic on Wavier's face. In fact, he laughed fanatically as he said, "Interesting! Simply extraordinary! However, it is hardly enough! Have a taste of my divine powers!"


Link was the top Archmage in the entire server. He had just defeated the strongest boss, the Lord of The Deep, Nozama with his party. However, instead of going back to town, he was transported to a secret location with pixelated CG. 

It sort of felt like a vacuum, and within it came a glorious and commanding voice that calls himself the God of Light. 

"Link, would you be willing to be the saviour who will pull the World of Firuman out from the churning abyss?"

What a huge mission! If it was in the real world, Link would have rejected it immediately. However, he was bent on being the hero in game.

"Bring it on!" Link answered confidently.

"Then, best of luck." 

And so begin Link's journey of magic, friendship, betrayal, love and despair in the ever changing World of Firuman.

It had been a long while since Danny Hebert last felt truly happy. Between Annette's death, the growing divide between himself and his daughter, and the slow death of the Dockworkers Association, his days were spent morosely contemplating the general helplessness of life. He could do so very little, as he was now, to solve the myriad of problems he faced.

Danny was never an ambitious man. He was satisfied with the little slice of Heaven he and Annette had carved out for themselves, a stable job, a cozy home, a happy daughter, a few close friends. Barbecues and small parties to while away the rest of his days.

These days, it felt an awful lot like life was purposely shitting on his dreams. The Lord's Port debacle was the first sign of things going wrong, a mob act born of frustration and aimless anger that spiraled into disaster. Nobody could have foreseen the consequences of what had started as a simple protest. Regardless, the Ship Graveyard was born, a constant reminder of the economic tragedy the Bay endured during the nineties.

But that was fine. The mayor had promised to revive the docks, had been elected on that very promise, and signs had gone up proclaiming a new day for the Bay. With an infant to provide for, Danny clung to whatever hope he could find.

For a time, life was perfect. His daughter was a lively child, bearing a sort of focused cheer that few could resist. She made a friend, Emma, the sort of friend that Danny just knew was forever, and he spent his afternoons with his wife, watching their daughter grow up happy.

Good things rarely last, though. The Dock's revival project was the first domino to fall. The mayor, like most politicians, lied. Danny was more angry than surprised. At himself, at the mayor, at that slimy aide who gave him the news. He screamed himself hoarse at the man, only realizing afterwards that his daughter, his little girl, was cowering in the corner of his office.

It was not the last time that his temper betrayed him. As bills stacked higher and higher, as the stress of bargaining and cajoling and begging for every scrap of cash mounted, Danny's control waned. He argued with Annette, on the day that she died. His last words to his wife were those of anger, and he would forever regret it.

Annette's death destroyed him. It drove him into a depression so deep, he somehow managed to completely miss his daughter's abject misery. For... over a year really, he barely paid her mind, lost in his own grief, too blind to see past his own problems. It took Taylor being hospitalized for him to even realize something was wrong, and even then, he was utterly helpless to solve the problem. He didn't even have an appropriate target for his rage, as Taylor refused to speak any specifics about the bullying, and he was unwilling to push her. Danny had to watch, passively, powerlessly, as his little girl withdrew into herself.

And then, seemingly out of nowhere, she began to brighten. It was a slow process, almost imperceptible, but Danny could see it. She would exercise every day, returning from her runs exhausted and sweaty and just a little bit more confident, more self-assured, working steadily towards some unmentioned goal. Every night she would sit down for dinner with a smile, a realsmile, while telling Danny stories of her companion, her running partner, and, as of just last week, her friend.

Danny was excited to meet this girl, his daughter's best friend, who had apparently pulled steel out of his shy, fragile child.

Of course, he never expected the meeting to start like this, with his daughter in a costume flanked by a cold eyed girl and a grinning blonde.

"Dad," Taylor began, nervously twisting her discarded mask, "I've got powers. I- I'm a hero."

Danny licked his lips, desperately fighting down his instinctual response of pure anguish. He had a vague understanding of how capes got their powers, and that he was unable to protect his little girl in her time of need brought forth more shame than he thought he could bear. He kept it from showing on his face through sheer force of will, burying his shame and guilt and anger deep within himself, summoning up just enough breath to grind out, "No."

Taylor's brow furrowed in confusion, "No? I... don't-"

"No, I forbid you from going out in costume." Danny declared, his fist slamming onto the hard wood of their kitchen table, "Dammit Taylor, I watch the news. I know how bad it is out there. A Ward was just killed, like, two days ago! How can you possibly justify going out on the streets alone when-"

"Not alone Dad! If you'd just listen to me then you would know I've got a team with my friends!" Taylor shouted, gesturing to the girls behind her, "And not only that, we've already taken a villain off the streets!"

"Oh good," Danny turned a fierce glare on the two unknown girls, eager to find an acceptable target for his budding rage, "So you are the ones who've talked my daughter into gallivanting around in a city filled with murderers!?" The girls, facing the wrath of a fully grown and highly protective father, seemed utterly bored.

Well, the shorter girl, Jaya, seemed bored. The blonde... Lisa? She was giving Danny a frown so deep, he suspected she had been trained at a convent.

Taylor, for her part, was sputtering in outrage, "It wasn't their idea!" she practically snarled at him, "Ihad to convince them! I've always wanted to be a hero. Now that I've got powers, I have to! It's my responsibility to help people! To protect-" a gentle hand on her shoulder stalled her rant, and Taylor glanced towards Jaya in confusion. The shorter girl nodded towards Lisa with a reassuring smile, and Taylor slumped with relief.

Danny watched the scene with confusion, as the frowning blonde stepped forward. "Mr. Hebert," she said with calm confidence, "You are obviously worried, and for good reason, but you should be careful about making decisions while you are angry. The wrong words here could destroy your relationship with your daughter, and nobody in this room wants that."

Danny bit back an angry reply, and struggled to center himself. He hated his temper, his weakness, and he hated that Taylor had seen it so often. He needed her to be safe, but shouting at her was not going to work. With that in mind, he took a deep, steadying breath. "Taylor, I didn't mean to shout," he began tentatively, glancing towards his seething daughter, "But you need to understand, Brockton Bay is dangerous. I barely want you out there to jog, much less actively look for fights. We've got plenty of adult heroes in the city, there is no need for you to get involved."

"It's not that simple," Lisa pointed out, "Capes can't exactly ignore their powers. It's a real, documented thing. Any who suppress it tend to... well, to go insane."

"I'm not saying she should ignore her powers," Danny insisted, "Speaking of which... I suppose you'd better tell me about them."

Taylor glared at him. "I can control bugs," she said sullenly, "Every bug within a few blocks."

"It's a very strong power," Jaya interjected, and Taylor straightened at the praise, "The range, and more importantly number of of critters she can control is well above average. As far as I can tell, she has basically unlimited multi-tasking."

Danny blinked in surprise, "That's- well, that's very useful. I don't see any reason why she couldn't do something like... I don't know, extermination?" He reached across the table and softly grasped his daughter's hand, "Taylor, I bet you could make a killing clearing out buildings and things of that nature. There would be no danger there, and you could still use your power." The way she pulled away from him was like a knife to his heart.

"There's a problem you're overlooking." Lisa stated, "Namely, the reason why there are so few rogues in the Bay. Only Parian, really, and the Empire has been making 'polite' advances on her lately." She gave Danny a serious look, "Without protection or backing, there is literally nothing stopping the gangs from forcefully recruiting a rogue."

Danny took a shuddering breath, not quite ready to concede the point, "That- That's only... in the Bay right? If it's to keep Taylor safe... then-"

"You'll move somewhere safer?" Lisa interrupted, as Taylor made some sort of strangled yelp, "I think we both know you don't have the money for such a thing, though if Jaya thought it was the best course of action for Taylor, I'm sure she'd give you the money. That being said, no, moving away won't solve a thing. Rogues have it tough no matter where you go, and I guarantee you, Taylor will be safer with us than on any Wards team, no matter the city."

Danny grit his teeth in frustration, "How can you possibly say something like that?"

Lisa bit her lip nervously, her eyes flickering between Jaya and Taylor. The older girl gave her a small nod and a reassuring smile, and Lisa let out a shaky laugh. "Well, Mr. Hebert, I'd like to think I'm a bit of an authority on the subject, seeing as I was recruited at gunpoint into being a villain, by the supervillain Coil."

Silence.

"You... were a villain?" Taylor asked timidly.

"Not by choice, Taylor." Lisa replied, with a sad smile, "My moral code is nowhere near as, um, righteous as yours, but I'd like to think I'm a good person. Deep, deep down."

Jaya let out an amused snort, and Taylor turned towards her, in dawning comprehension. "You robbed a supervillain." she said in amazement, "You robbed Coil? And- what? Freed Lisa?"

"Ah, not quite," Jaya said sheepishly, "I capturedCoil, and dragged him to Lisa. She used her power to rob him blind and we split the difference."

"What happened to Coil?" Taylor asked, cocking her head in confusion, "There was nothing on the news about him being captured..."

Jaya shrugged blithely, "He had a heart attack after I told him we destroyed his life's work over the course of a single afternoon. I buried him in concrete beneath one of the abandoned buildings downtown."

Taylor's eyes went wide as saucers, and Lisa slapped her face into her palm. Danny simply stared at the cheerful girl who had essentially murdered a man. "That does not inspire confidence," he said carefully, praying that he wouldn't set off the psychopath in his kitchen, "I don't want my daughter running around with a murderer."

Jaya gazed at him steadily, before giving his daughter a reassuring look, "Mr. Hebert... Taylor, Coil's real identity was Thomas Calvert. He was former PRT, and had compromised their security so badly, that Lisa and I can use his back-doors to read the Director's emails. Said director, Emily Piggot, served with him in the PRT's special forces, specifically during the initial assault against Nilbog. He was dedicated enough to have an almost ironclad cover in his civilian life, and had a small army of mercenaries, armed with tinker-tech weaponry and armor serving him in his cape identity." The Asian girl drummed her fingers on the table, gathering her thoughts, before looking back to Taylor, "I'm telling you this, so that you understand: there are some villains who cannot be held accountable under the current system. You are no stranger to corruption and favoritism, I think," she said with a raised eyebrow.

Taylor fidgeted nervously, before giving a reluctant nod. Danny made a mental note to ask what the hell that was about.

"Coil was absolutely sadistic," Jaya continued, "He was planning on kidnapping the Mayor's niece, Dinah Alcott, who is an insanely powerful precognitive. He wanted to drug her up to her eyeballs and keep her in an underground base, while he exploited her powers." Taylor's eyes narrowed in fury, and Danny felt slightly ill at the thought. Jaya nodded in approval of their reactions, "Yeah, I don't know what he was planning next, but suffice to say, he was a bad, bad man. I feel no guilt over Coil's death, honestly I sleep better because of it. That being said," she turned towards Danny, "Taylor has already expressed an issue with my... enthusiastic method of fighting. I'll be practicing some less, uh, destructive crime-fighting techniques."

The room was silent for a moment, as the father and daughter processed these new revelations. Danny, if he was truly honest with himself, found that he couldnt condemn the young woman for her actions. Assuming everything she said was true, obviously. Not an assumption he wanted to make lightly.

"I... I think I understand." Taylor said quietly, looking at some point around Jaya's feet, "I- I don't agree with what you did, I think, but-" she took a deep breath, and nodded to herself, before meeting Jaya's eyes, "I don't judge you for it. We'll do better, together. I know it." Jaya beamed at the girl, and tackled her into a hug.

"That's all well and good, but really everything you've said is completely unverifiable." Danny pointed out, deliberately ignoring his daughter's flailing escape attempts.

"I'm not sure how we can prove anything, though if Jaya was going to lie, I don't know why she'd admit to letting the bastard die," Lisa interrupted with a sly grin, "Buuuut Coil was loaded. Would throwing a cool mil at you prove that, at the very least, we robbed someone who did not report the theft to the authorities, and therefore were probably on the wrong side of the law?"

Danny gaped alongside Taylor, and Lisa's smile grew wider.

"That- no, that won't be necessary," Danny stuttered out. It physically hurt to say no to that kind of money, but he wasn't about to accept what might be shady hush money, and he certainly was not a goddamn charity case. "Look, okay, I get it. You two like my daughter, and want to help her. You get points for that. But. How do I know you can protect her like you've promised? What even are your powers?" Danny readied himself to dissect every possible weakness. These girls claimed they could protect Taylor from the insanity that was Brockton Bay. Well, he wasn't about to let youthful arrogance get his daughter killed.

"Super intuition." Lisa answered, "Anything Sherlock Holmes could do, I can do ten times better. Cold reading, guessing passwords and bank account information, figuring out what part of the city somebody last slept in, that sort of thing." she shrugged carelessly, "It's not particularly useful in combat, which is why I function as over-watch. Basically, I observe with tinker-tech cameras and earpieces, and advise as needed."

"Uh." Danny was momentarily baffled, as the girl had all but admitted she could not protect Taylor if things went bad. Was he missing something? "So... Lisa? I'm not really seeing how you can keep, oh, let's just say Kaiser, from eviscerating my daughter when you're across the city." he couldn't quite keep the heat out of his voice when faced with the blonde's cheeky smile.

"Oh, I won't be able to do anything like that. My job is all about information. I leave the heavy lifting to Jaya and Taylor." the girl was practically radiating smugness at this point.

Danny could smell the trap, he was no fool, but as she tilted her head towards Jaya, he couldn't help but dive into it headfirst with a snarl. "And what do you do, then?" he demanded, looking towards the shortest member of this strange trio.

"Whatever I want." Jaya replied, idly tugging at her ponytail.

"Not- No I meant, what do your powers do?"

Jaya's head cocked in confusion, "So did I."

"Jaya." Taylor's firm voice halted Danny's explosion, "I'd really like dad to be with me on this. I know he's been acting like an ass," Danny restrained a flinch, "But he just wants what's best for me... so, please."

Jaya sighed indulgently, and turned towards Danny. He silently prepared a speech about overconfidence and- "I can sense, manipulate, and create all forms of energy and matter within a several block radius." Jaya stated calmly, "If it's alive, I have to touch it directly, everything else can be done anywhere within my range." The girl smiled arrogantly, her bearing suddenly emitting the kind of primal danger that screamed monster, "I am the most powerful cape in the Bay. Within the next month, I'll be as strong as the Triumvirate. Within a year, you could throw the combined might of every cape on the planet at me, and they won't even dirty my shoes."

Um.

Mike woke to the dark after just a few hours on the cot, back stiff and his bad shoulder aching. I should figure out how to fix that with the teleotic talent, he thought. For the moment, he would accept the pain as a convenient alarm clock. He had to train the ability to clear out precursor residue and his schedule wouldn't include a lot of personal time over the next week or so.

In the dark, Mike used a blend of animas, nous, and gravitas to effect a major operation. First, he identified clots of residue using feelers of precursor. Next, he identified which type of precursor had created the residue, something he likened to a flavor. Then, he used the two other precursors to seize it in a manner similar to picking up single grains of rice using chopsticks. For animas residue, he used gravitas and nous as his manipulators.

Little by little, he formed a tiny stack in a corner of his mind. The sky had already begun to lighten by the time he figured out the method and managed to put it into use. He judged he had maybe another hour to go before there would be enough daylight to rouse his troops.

Then his phone began to buzz from its place in his pocket. Mike got up out of his cot and walked outside to answer it without even looking at the caller identification. If someone wanted to call him at this time, it had to be important. "This is Mike."

"Hey, Ski, it's Varanelli."

"Damn, roomie, you miss me already?"

"It's a serious call, Ski."

Mike's mind began to rush. "What's happening?"

"A couple of kinetics went on a murder spree in a hospital somewhere in Virginia."

"Angmari deserters?"

"No, it was two white guys. The first one looks fresh from the trailer park. The other guy is wearing a suit. They were going after hospital workers, squashing their heads like grapes. It's insane, Ski."

"Do you think these are people Marius attuned?"

"I hope not."

Mike sighed. "I hope they were. Otherwise, the other Angmari are handing out super powers to people with questionable morality."

"What do you think we should do?"

"I've got to train an army, Varanelli. Looks like we might need to be ready for action sooner than expected. And you do nothing. You're outnumbered and I don't think you'd do well against kinetics who can crush heads."

"Right," she said. "Well, Marius is the one who should handle this. He's always bragging about being the most powerful human on the planet."

"Exactly. For all we know, Marius is hunting them down as we speak."

"I'm not going to hold my breath for that. I just wanted to make sure you had the news. How is training going?"

Mike winced. "It's going. I had to get a little rough with them."

Pause. "A little rough . . . . Are you talking about being strict or are you assaulting a woman and an old man?"

"I'm putting them through a version of basic training. I also smacked around the old man."

"Ski."

"He had it coming, Varanelli."

"Ski."

"He wouldn't follow orders and then started popping off about how the national guard didn't have real soldiers. He had it coming."

"This is just like the situation with the marines."

Mike took a steadying breath. "No, I'm under control, Varanelli. It was a strategic beatdown."

"Strategic? Be real, Ski."

"Sorry, I got to go now, Varanelli."

"Try not to kill any of your students."

"Yeah, sure, bye." Hanging up, Mike glared at the rising sun. "I need a drink."

"No you don't," Spencer said from a spot just inside the door.

Mike grunted. "Are you going to give me shit too, now?"

Spencer stepped outside and lowered her voice. "I'm going to support your leadership decisions. Just try to think about what kind of organization you want this to be. Marius is a shit leader who bullies his subordinates because he doesn't know how to lead any other way. You were an NCO in the United States Army. Use your experience to mold this army into something we can be proud of. Think about it. We're going to become historical figures like George Washington and General Patton. We need to do this right so we can be proud of our legacies."

"OK, now I really need a drink."

Spencer chuckled at his exclamation. "You can do this."

"I guess we'll see soon how true that is. We're going to need to wake the others up soon. Varanelli dropped some bad news on me. There are kinetics running around causing havoc on Earth. They killed a bunch of doctors at a hospital."

"Shit," Spencer said. "How strong were they? Was it just brain pushes?"

"They were squishing people's heads."

"So stronger than us. Maybe. I honestly don't know how hard it is to crack a skull." Spencer looked Mike in the eye. "If you have booze out here, I wouldn't mind a drink myself."

"I don't have any alcoholic beverages," Mike said. "I have a little problem, not a big one. Drinking problem, that is. The supervillain problem is a big one."

"Want me to rouse the recruits?"

"I guess we should. There's a lot of training to do." Mike patted Spencer on the shoulder. "I owe you for backing me up yesterday."

Spencer shrugged. "At the time, I thought if I didn't go along with things you might kill Woodrow."

Mike nodded towards the room full of occupied the cots to send Spencer inside to wake everyone up, then turned back to face the rising sun. History is watching my every move from now on. Unless I screw up and we all die. I guess this is what I get for trying to turn my life around. It sure is a high stakes second chance. Am I a heroic early leader of a planetary defense army or some idiot who gets himself killed playing at being competent? I guess I'll learn the answer to that soon enough.
