Eric Khoo’s My Magic is about a drunkard father’s nostalgia for the past in the form of his dead wife whom he makes phone calls to throughout the film, because she was tricked into trafficking drugs by evil people at a young age she was hanged and leaves him alone with their son. He plunges into grief and abandon, drowning his days in sorrow and drink and turning into a drunkard. The film is a loving tribute to the memory of his wife and the days they shared before he turned into a drunkard because she was hanged after being tricked into trafficking drugs.
	The sacrifice that the Indian father makes for his son is deeply moving. While drowning himself in drink and sorrow and being accused by his son of being useless and a burden to him in the initial stages of the film, the Indian father eventually sacrifices his life for him by performing magic shows that exert a physical strain on his body to the point of death. Swallowing fire, piercing himself, walking on glass, dragging heavy objects, swallowing glass, the Indian father does this all to earn money to give his son a future after being heavily dependent on him by drowning himself in drink and sorrow and genuinely being very useless to his son for many years so his son has to do homework for his classmates and earn money to support himself. 
	The film is a comment on the lower working class and how people who are not educated like the Indian father cannot escape their trap of poverty and have to turn to working in lowly paid jobs at the bar in order to make a living while being trapped in the cycle of alcoholism because he cannot get over his wife’s hanging which was for a crime she was tricked into.
	While the Indian father is initially very useless to the son in  being very dependent on him and being a vile presence in the house by vomiting all over the place when he returns from his nightly boozing sessions, it is his resolve to escape the trap of low income by returning to performing magic at the pub at which he works, which he will pay for with his life as the sadistic boss of the pub will eventually torture him to death for a sum of money and which the pub manager attempts to steal from him, resulting in him blowing fire on his face to disfigure him after which he has to flee his house on the run from authorities.
	The film is thus about the Indian father’s inability to escape the past by escaping into a downward spiral of alcoholism and low income which he cannot escape because he is not educated. The film is about the trap of being from a low income family in Singapore without education, and the downward spiral of poverty this leads to. The Indian father is unable to escape his poverty without an education, which the son resolves to undertake as he does not want to end up like his alcoholic and useless father. 
The exploitation of the Indian father by the pub owner and manager to perform magic tricks to the point of death shows class oppression and brutality in Singapore how the capitalists exploit the working class for their entertainment while giving them very little economic returns. Poverty can only thus be escaped by education, however the film ends with a glimmer of hope that the son will be able to recover an education for himself with the money his father has sacrificed his life for. The film is thus a moving commentary on class oppression and the trap of poverty that those who are lowly educated face in Singapore.
Singapore prides itself on being a meritocratic society. Yet the underside of its economic success is class oppression and exploitation for those who are not well educated like the Indian father and cannot escape the savage trap of poverty and alcoholism. The film thus comments that privilege begets privilege in this so called meritocracy and poverty is a vicious cycle and trap for low income families. The Indian father cannot escape his alcoholism and poverty because of his lack of education.

I want to start this with my personal experience on what made me ventured into business. My previous experience  was only engineering during a time when smartphone was not invented or maybe not popular yet as it was too expensive to own one. My first retrenchment came during the Asian financial crisis, also called the "Asian Contagion," There was a sequence of currency devaluations and other events in 1997. It spreaded throughout to many Asian markets including Singapore. After being retrenched with no benefits as the company I was working with were competing against giant harddisk maker finally had no choice but to close down and declared bankrupt. This event had left me stranded with no job. I had to sell off my car and was desperately looking for another engineering job to survive. Engineering jobs was hard to find, imagine for one position there were over 100 applicants. I finally gave up looking for a full time job and decided to just do part time jobs while still looking for an engineer position. For a period of 4 months I had worked as a  pizza deliveryman and a security officer before I finally landed with a full time job as an engineer. During my employment as an engineer in a Japanese semiconductor company. I often observe how my manager was treated by the Japanese boss. It was always and often a 'yes boss' situation. I had a feeling that this working culture is not meant for me. I told myself that I need to find a secondary source of income just in case I am out of job again. 
If you can relate yourself to my story don't  despair. Do not let circumstances dictate how you want to lead your life. Do not think that the company will always need you for the job. Prepare yourself for a second source of income as a backup plan. There is a saying 'do not put all your eggs in one basket'.
As for me during my full time employment. I had acquired part time experience working in the evenings and weekends as a taxi driver, a property agent and also into direct selling sales.  These skills are life skills which is important for your development towards sales and service industry. My communication skills got better and I feel much more confident dealing with people. 
When the second wave of recession happened in year 2001 Singapore struggled through one of its worst economic slumps. It was hit hard by the dot.com bust and the decline in the electronic and computer chip industries. I was a bit more prepared my company had decided to give unpaid leave for some days in a month. So I make use of the free time to make extra income by making use of the sales skills that I've acquired. From then on I realized that if I was retrenched I had   my backup plan in place. I could still be self employed and earn a decent income which is more than my monthly income from employment. So in the year 2009 I have decided to finally quit my job and was self employed doing whatever my interest was. I've set up a transport company that did not do too well. I had landed with financial issues and got over it. Climbed back up again and continued my search for a successful business. I realized that the best business model is always to have it with lowest possible overhead cost with high potential returns. When the internet starts to grow with the popularity of Facebook and YouTube. Information is always accessible for anyone to improve their knowledge if you use it in the right way for self development. There was an evolving trend and I continued to learn more on digital marketing. Learning how to create websites and doing sales on  E commerce platforms. Create ebooks which was also my passion to write and explore new ideas.
So the point I want to emphasize is that new skills can be developed now very easily as we can make use of information that is readily available on the internet. I would like to encourage you to do the same and keep on learning and follow the forever changing trend to keep up with technology and find new ways to make money. It is the attitude that will bring you to grow in altitudes to a pathway of freedom of choice. You will not feel the job that you're having is everything to you if you have a second source of income that can match your employment salary. In fact open up new choices in your life. Are you just satisfied to have a regular job to survive with or you are prepared to get out of your comfort zone and be self employed doing what you've always wanted. My name is bruce chen, game name 'psycho-killer'. it is an embarrassing name for a 110 year old man but i created this account in my teen years and at that time i was aspiring to become a berserker in oasis. but i ended up in the blacksmith profession due to many factors and after learning basic skills of blacksmithing, i moved to alchemy and then cooking and by the time powers started to appear in real world, I was the only one with all lifestyle basics skills. i was choosen for the first batch of otherworldly heros with a unique job title 'lifestyle expert'.
people who can bring in game abilities into reality are termed as otherworldly heroes inside wouldland system and they are given a job title outside the game to use specific skills only. For example if a player is swordsman and he usually used magic skills to attack, his otherworldly job title will most definitely be a magic swrodsman and he will only be able to use magic skills os swords. further improvement depends on his performance and hard work in game and reality . It is not always the case as no one knows how the AI assign these jobs but it will not interfere in further advancement of jobs and titles. 
Same system is used in game system to get a advance job. Every player can learn as many skills as he wants but his class job will be determined by the skills he used most during his leveling. Some get their advance job at level 10 while some get theirs at level 100 depending on criteria of AI.
I got my advance job of 'All rounder' and it was a given to me alongside title 'lifestyle expert' at level 9.
As a precaution, according to my hypothesis, the system restrict user from learning and advancing all lifestyle skills simultaneously and madean announcement about it at that time. As a reward i was given a design of capsule with no time limit and after every logout, it has a cooldown time of three hours. 
Recently, Somehow an information that I, a high elder of many lifestyle classes, got a capsule design with no time limit and this marked the start of a great hunt(a term used by players when a globle bounty is released on the forum).
Now divine faction got me and i am waiting for clock to hit 9 in the morning so i can log back in the game to delete my account.
As for why no one is attacking me is because emergency power source of my capsule is a nuclear core. A nuclear blast is not lethal for these soldiers at this stage and some jobs are able to absorb radiations completely. they need me alive and i can't withstand even a nornal blast.
"Why so stubborn to the end. Just surrender and be done with it. A team with your granddaughter and 2 greatgrandsons are on there way and even you know that you have to give in sooner or later. so why are we wasting time here" team leader choi said.

Listening to the man, Bruce was startled because he thought that he has to negotiate hard to get thus much.

I don't know where her husband is but i presume that he is dead' thinking this he activated the nuclear core to detonate.
"you bastards, you said no harm will be done to my family, I told you his location I told you gis secrets and this is how you repay me you f**king bastards" a man grabbed by soldiers at the door was yelling at adam and team leader choi.
Bruce saw the man and was struck by lightning. 'so it was you who betrayed me'
"9....8...."countdown starts and Adam lost his color as he heard this. His only hope is to get the old man out forcefully now. with this determination he dashed towards the capsule and split it in half.

While I finished up my spirit array, Xu Ling Rou watched.
"Aren't we going to have a conversation before the abyss?" she asked, sounding almost bored. I looked up at her, confused.
"Conversation about what?"
"About your senior and master. About…friends. How you and I have no friends, but you count as my friend."
"What the fuck?!" I gaped at her, completely caught off guard. "What the hell are you talking about? What do you mean we have no friends? I don't know about you, but I definitely have friends!"
"Even a boring person like you has friends?" Xu Ling Rou teased. I glared at her.
"Are you trying to copy the heroine from Ze Tian Ji or Way of Choices?"
"Maybe. Wait, you actually read that too?"
I was at a loss for words. For one thing, Ze Tian Ji or Way of Choices didn't exist in this world. For Xu Ling Rou to have read it, it only meant one thing. That she was a reincarnation of someone from another world. Probably my world.
"Are you from Earth? Did you read Ze Tian Ji or Way of Choices online? Or buy the book? Did you watch the anime adaptation or the live-action drama version?"
"Oh? You're also from Earth?" Xu Ling Rou perked up, leaning forward and resting her head on her hands. Her elbows were propped up on her knees and she watched me. Her eyes lit up in realization. "So that's it…that's why you're a totally different person from before. I did think it was possible, but I had no way of confirming because you would have thought me mad if I was mistaken. But you're really reborn from the same world as I am!"
Whoa. So she was a fellow reincarnator? That was unexpected.
"Huh, I didn't expect that. Yeah, I came from Earth too. Singapore, actually. In the modern time, say about 2020. That was probably when I died. What about you?"
"Same, about 2020 too. But I'm from China. Shenzhen province." Xu Ling Rou chuckled and leaned back. She glanced outside. Even from here, she could see the black tsunami of writhing, contorted monstrosities in the distance, enveloping the grassland as they rolled toward the mausoleum. "How long do you think the monster tide will take to reach here?"
"Tomorrow morning," I replied with a shrug. "If they ever get the chance to reach here, I mean."
"You really think you can destroy them all with your spirit array?" Xu Ling Rou asked skeptically. I nodded, and she fell silent for a moment. "If you fail, then this will be our last day here, wouldn't it?"
"So I have to do my best not to fail," I replied, rubbing my finger against the spirit array and infusing it with my qi.
Xu Ling Rou chuckled at that, and then she leaned back. "Since we still have some time before the end…or before you slaughter all of them, let's talk a bit more."
"About what?" I asked honestly, glancing at her curiously. There was little to talk about, to be honest. I couldn't think of an appropriate conversation topic right before the monster tide arrived. Xu Ling Rou appeared to want to have one last cheerful conversation before what she envisioned to be the end, but because I knew we wouldn't die here – even if my spirit array somehow failed, we were protected by the ever invincible plot armor – I honestly couldn't care less.
"I don't know…well, I have a senior."
"Qiu Shan Jie, right?" I asked, sensing the direction that the conversation was heading in. Xu Ling Rou nodded.
"He is my…martial senior, I guess."
From what I had heard, Qiu Shan Jie had been extremely nice to Xu Ling Rou, and everyone said that they were a match made in heaven. I was also aware that she was deeply in love with Qiu Shan Jie. Xu Ling Rou must be emotionally torn when she realized that it was highly possible that she would die here in the Garden of Zhou, unable to see her beloved again.
"Don't worry. You'll see him again. I guarantee it."
"What are you, a god?" Xu Ling Rou asked, giggling. "How can you guarantee such a thing?"
"I might not be a god, but I can." After all, I was the former Demonic Emperor.
"Believe my master," Divine Dragon added seriously. "He's capable of many feats you probably wouldn't even be able to imagine."
"Trust me, I've borne witness to his impossible feats," the Primordial Azure Dragon muttered.
"Speaking of impossible…I know that it's impossible for anyone in this world to be perfect, but Senior Jie is the closest person to perfection that I have seen in my life."
I nodded, having heard the rumors regarding Qiu Shan Jie. This was not somebody I could afford to underestimate. If anything, I would love to meet this fella and recruit him to my cause. Unlike cultivator idiots who go around killing people because they "couldn't afford to let him grow stronger and come back to haunt them in future," I would much rather make such talented and powerful people my allies. Have them owe me a debt, and then request a favor from them in future. I mean, seriously. Why the fuck was every cultivator's first impulse to kill somebody? Just because they deemed him as a threat? Then don't threaten him in the first place.
"And my senior is very nice to me," Xu Ling Rou continued wistfully. I studied her and nodded in understanding.
"Is that why you are in love with him?"
"…I suppose."
Normally, Xu Ling Rou wouldn't have answered the question, but we were currently stuck in the mausoleum of Zhou Du Fu and she was the one who brought up the conversation in the first place, so she couldn't help but be honest.
"He's the strongest person in our generation. I don't think I will ever find anyone more suitable than him."
"I see." I rested against a wall and nodded thoughtfully. I honestly couldn't care less about her love life. It had nothing to do with me. But perhaps I would be able to extract some useful information regarding Qiu Shan Jie from this conversation. Information that would allow me to turn him into my ally.
"…anyway, you said earlier that you're also from Earth?"
"Yeah," I affirmed, and then grinned. "You're from Shenzhen? Guangdong?"
"Yes."
"Then you can speak Cantonese?"
"Yeah. Wait…you can speak Cantonese too?"
"That's my dialect in Singapore. I grew up hearing my parents converse in Cantonese. Also watched Hong Kong movies. Jackie Chan movies were pretty hot in the 90s, as were Andy Lau, Jet Li, Sammo Hung, Stephen Chow…"
"Okay, I get it." Xu Ling Rou giggled. "So you're from Singapore. I've never been there, but I heard quite a few things about it. Might have even gone to university if I hadn't been a master thief…"
"…wait, what? Master thief?" I repeated incredulously. Xu Ling Rou nodded.
"That's right. Ah, I should tell you a bit more about my past life."
Whether it was because of the impending monster tide and thus she wanted to spill everything before her supposedly inevitable death or she just felt lonely, I didn't know, but Xu Ling Rou was beginning to talk a lot more loosely and openly.
"I was a master thief in my previous life, known as the Shadow Cat. I would steal ancient relics and national treasures from corrupt corporates and give them back to the government. Oh, my master also trained me in medicine and martial arts. I was a master combatant, having achieved a black belt in taekwondo and jujutsu, and also a PhD in both Western medicine and mastered acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Chinese medical world bestowed upon me the title of Divine Doctor. I also served briefly in the military and was their top soldier for a while, but I went back to stealing stuff because it was more interesting that way."
The way she was speaking matter-of-factly indicated that she didn't think she was boasting but she was merely stating the truth.
"Unfortunately, the corrupted corporations couldn't stand my actions, so they got together to assassinate me. After repeated failed attempts, they lured me to steal a valuable Black Dragon Jade from a city, and then nuked it." she laughed bitterly. "Just to get rid of a single person – me – they sacrificed an entire city and nuked it. Can you believe it?"
"She's lying," Divine Dragon said.
"She's definitely lying," the Primordial Azure Dragon agreed.
"Hey!" Xu Ling Rou protested hotly. "What do you mean by that?!"
"Come on, do you really expect us to buy into that ridiculous background? I know you're meant to be a Mary Sue, but they don't exist in reality. That whole master thief who is a martial arts expert and divine doctor only exists in poorly written, trashy female lead web novels where a Mary Sue protagonist is reincarnated into the body of a thirteen-year-old princess who somehow gets abused by her family for no reason other than because she is the main character, and then she uses her godly skills to rise as a phoenix and slap the faces of everyone around her while getting the attention of some imperial prince from the royal family, all the while being accompanied by her ever loyal maid, who also goes around indulging in the face-slapping business."
"…you read those too?"
"The first hundred or so chapters of three or four different 'phoenix' stories. That whole nuke the city just to kill you was blatantly copied from Phoenix against the World." I rolled my eyes. "Sometimes the female leads are even more ridiculous than the male leads. I thought the stupid gung-ho hotheaded martial artist who is an unprecedented genius cultivating at super speed and beating up foes several realms higher than him was due to plot armor and shabby writing, but then I saw the female versions where they are often Divine Doctors, Martial Artist Masters and Master Thieves rolled into a single person, not to mention the bestest marine, poison user, ultimate schemer and most powerful summoner too, which make them even more overpowered and godly than the male leads. Yet somehow they always need the male leads to rescue them somehow, despite their cheats and Mary Sue abilities. It's just too blatant."
"Why you lying, girl?" Divine Dragon demanded. "Do you think we will think less of you if you aren't some super-soldier, Divine Doctor and Master Thief combined into a Mary Sue package?"
"But I'm not lying…"
"Then why did you need me to help you heal your injuries and neutralize the toxins in your body?" I asked wryly, folding my arms. "If you are truly the Divine Doctor you claim you are, with PhD in Western medicine and mastery of Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, then why weren't you able to cure yourself? You didn't even recognize the Lava Heart Pill! Some divine doctor you are!"
"Damn it…you saw through me. What a blunder." Xu Ling Rou groaned and raised her hands. "Sorry. You're right. I was just a normal girl in Shenzhen University. And I was an arts major, not a doctor. The martial arts thing is true, though. I did learn archery and Wu Shu when I was a child."
That explained why she was so skilled in combat. I could grant her that, at least.
"What about you?" she asked, scowling at me with her arms also crossed. "I've told you about my past. It's your turn."
"Nothing interesting. I was born in Singapore, grew up in Singapore, served a couple of years in the military, and then died." Then I grinned. "Unlike you, I'm not lying. I don't need to make up some crazy Mary Sue background to give me ridiculous skills so that I can cheat my way through my second or third lives."
"Hey!"
"How did you die, seriously?" The Primordial Azure Dragon pressed her curiously. Xu Ling Rou glared at him grumpily, then turned away with a "hmph."
"Hey, my master told you the truth. Now it's your turn."
"He didn't provide any specifics about his death, though," Xu Ling Rou objected. Fair enough. I couldn't remember how I died. I had the faint impression that I fell to my death, and I wasn't going to tell her of my second death, about how I was forced to blow myself up when confronted with the Seven Sacred Sects in the Heavenly Peaks. However, Xu Ling Rou didn't seem too bothered. She had nothing to do while waiting, so she decided to continue the conversation. "Well, that's fine. I died in a plane crash. I was traveling to…" she looked sheepish. "…Singapore when the plane crashed over the South China Sea. The last thing I remember was losing consciousness when the plane was falling."
"This Singapore that you mention…" The Primordial Azure Dragon mused thoughtfully. "The lady here died when traveling to it, while this gentleman was born and raised there. Could there be some sort of connection between the two of you? Fate at work?"
"Who knows?" I shrugged, not caring. Fate could go to hell, for all I cared. As the Demonic Emperor, I made my own fate. I refused to be subjected to the whims of Heaven. Standing up, I gazed out at the approaching monster tide, which had gotten closer. My thirty or so golems flanked me, watching the bloated shadow silently. I smirked. "In any event, I think I can begin to extend my warmest welcomes to our…guests."

Even though the members of the Hero party had their flaws and foibles, the ice mage, Klein Pearson, continued to fight alongside them against the legions of the Demonic Emperor, for the sake of humanity. For he is a "kind person" who wishes to protect the innnocent and minimize the casualties suffered by ordinary but stalwart human soldiers.
However, in order for the party to survive against a formidable foe, they sacrificed Klein and callously left him for dead, just so they could make their own escape.
With his legs chopped off and his route of escape sealed, Klein Pearson is left to face the wrath of the demons alone.
But...if he survives, he might just be able to become the next Demonic Emperor and command the scattered Legions against the "strongest Hero party."
Now then, let the revenge begin.

I woke up in my car. It took only a second for me to realize what had happened. Rubbing my sole human eye, I got out of the car and looked around. The auto drive of the car had managed to get me home safely and was now safely parked on the roof of my house.
"Not the safest thing I had ever done but it got me home."
I called up the record of the car. The car engine had shut down once the car computer had confirmed it was parked on the roof but the air-conditioning was left on as the car system noticed that there was someone in the driver's seat. I ruefully regretted upgrading the car computer system. If it had shut down the air-conditioning, I might have woke up and spend the night in my bed. As it is, I was just glad no one tried to hack my system while I was asleep. Even with all the surveillance drones and cameras of the government, it does still happen. Considering how easy it was for the System to bypass my internal security, my internal alarms was just not enough. Guess it was time for an upgrade. I walked away from the car to the roof lift. The door of the lift opened automatically after reading my cybernetics and I stepped through. The lift went down and I was home.
Home was a one storey condominium along Grange Road and like most of the houses along the street, it had seen better days. The Singapore economy had been in a downturn for years so no surprise there. I went to wash up and the face looking back at me in the mirror was a mess. In my thirties, fifteen kilograms overweight with a reclining hairline, I was no catch in the best of times but the face in the mirror managed to scare even me. I realized that not only did I stink, I was also hungry.
I ordered the meal helper to prepare a simple breakfast and went for a shower. When I was done, I put on a bathrobe and took the breakfast out of the oven. Putting it down on the kitchen table, I turned on the holographic television and ate. The morning news was mainly about a gigantic kaiju who somehow managed to cross the Pacific Ocean and was spotted heading towards the west coast of North America. I pulled up the feed on the kaiju and both the local and SEAL network were covering it. I accessed the net and the forums were filled with speculation on whether it was a giant mutant animal, a mad science experiments, or even a deliberate biological attack by some foreign power on the United Tribes of the Americas. I read with some bemusement as a few threads insist that the kaiju was 'summoned' by the shaman of the American Indian Tribes to defend the country against their foes in the Federation of Eastern NA. I would usually dismissed such magical mumbo jumbo but after the night I had…I still don't believe it.
My breakfast was a simple affair with a cup of coffee, two slice of bread with kaya and a small bowl of porridge. It was passable at best. Try as they might, engineers had never been able to recreate the taste and aroma of a home cooked meal. I silently wondered if the System would be able to help me with my non-existing cooking skill. Thinking of skills made me call up the System.
It was right there. Right under System, there were now two other tabs; Jobs and Skills. I accessed them and noticed Battlesuit Designer and Tinkering under the respective tabs. So it wasn't a dream.
"System, you're there?"
[Yes, User Tobias Wong. How may I assist you?]
"Can you explain the Job and Skill tabs and how did I gained them?"
[Jobs are given once the Users have satisfied the requirements for them. The Battlesuit Designer job was given when User Tobias Wong selected it as a subject on Dive and created his first design. Skills are given to the Users to help them advance in their respective Jobs.]
"Why 'Tinkering' then? Why was I given this skill instead of others?"
[It was due to your performance yesterday. User Tobias Wong did a lot of work tinkering with the Steambot Battlesuit and thus was rewarded with the 'Tinkering' skill]
"So if I do something often, I shall get the skill for it? How many skills can I get? How many jobs?"
[In order of the questions; not necessarily as only skills useful in the application of the Jobs would be given. Users can have many Jobs and Skills but only two Jobs and ten Skills may be active at any one time.]
I took in the information about Jobs; Skills; and Missions. It was a little confusing but this was just the first day so I was sure the System had other secrets I had yet to uncover. I had time.
"I take it you are not allowed to tell me how to unlock these other Jobs and what are the requirements I need to fulfil to get them?"
[That is correct. The Mad Triple did not want to unduly influence the choices of his descendants, only to help them on their life journey.]
"Not even a hint?" I asked more in hope than expectation. "Some little thing to tell me what to do?"
[The Mad Triple believed this question would come up and has a message to his descendants. Do you wish to play the message?]
"Very well."
[Playing message…The System is a guide, not a babysitter. If you want success, get off your behind and work for it! Nothing is free.]
I chuckled at this. Popular culture had The Mad Triple as a crazy lunatic who was flighty in the extreme but I guess the old man would have been the hard ass parent if he had stayed. Feeling much better, I decided to follow the instructions of the crazed madman. It was time to get back to work.

Mo Liuxi glanced at her and said, "I can see your bathroom from my guest room. You turned on your bathroom light once you got back." 
No wonder he rang her doorbell once she turned on the light. He was really fast. "You haven't been staying in the guest room the whole time just to wait for me, have you?" 
"Yeah, I was reading the script in that room," said Mo Liuxi. 
Hearing that, Yan Su felt warm in her heart. "Don't wait for me in the guest room again. Next time I'll text you when I'm downstairs."
"All right." Mo Liuxi threw the shopping bags on her couch and said, "I got these for you in Singapore." 
Yan Su opened the bags and saw purses, clothes, makeup, and shoes, all from luxurious brands. The gifts must have cost him over a hundred thousand yuan. 
"Liuxi, you didn't need to buy me so many things. They are too expensive. After all, you're still a student," Yan Su said. "I've never received such expensive gifts from a man." 
Mo Liuxi opened his mouth wide and looked at her with a shocked face. "Yan Su, was your last relationship even real? Shi Xiang is a popular singer. Let's not talk about his other incomes. He can earn at least ten-million by endorsing one brand. Didn't he buy you any gifts like these?" 
He spent a long time shopping for gifts for her in Singapore. He thought that Shi Xiang must have bought her some nice things, and he wanted to give her something even better. What she told him was unexpected. 
Yan Su explained embarrassedly saying, "We were both young when we first got together. We didn't have jobs or money, so we didn't buy each other many gifts. Later on, Shi Xiang got rich. He sent me WeChat red envelopes sometimes. I took the small ones and rejected the ones over one-thousand yuan. As for gifts… we didn't have much chance to see each other, so we didn't send each other any big gifts. He bought me some small gifts, like necklaces, but not many." 
Before, Shi Xiang told her that he didn't want his company to find out about their relationship. Now, she knew that he just didn't want that so-called 'Young Mistress' to find out.

Mo Liuxi gave a cold smile and said, "That's easy to say, but hard to do. Some people work hard their whole lives but still make no money. Look at your soft hands and smooth skin. You can now use the skincare products that are worth thousands, but if you married a poor man, you might be only able to afford the cheapest kind. You can wear pretty clothes now, but with a poor man, you'd be stuck with cheap things. You'd become an unattractive middle-aged lady. If I love a girl, I wouldn't make her live a poor life with me. But of course, that's just my way." 


It was supposed to be a perfect deal in which both parties got what they needed. However, after the child was born, he tore up the agreement with discontent and told her, “Who said that we'd only have one child? I want twins! Twin brother and sister! You’ll continue giving birth to more children until you bore me a pair of twins!”
Luosang was beyond endurance. “Nian Junting, damn you…” she raised up against him, “Nian Junting, is this fair to the pure love in your heart?”

Karena asyik membaca Haya tidak menyadari kalau jam di rumahnya sudah menunjukkan pukul 3 pagi. Haya buru-buru tidur. Dan bangun terkaget-kaget jam 6 pagi. Alarm berbunyi terlalu keras di kupingnya.
Dari 5 sekuel Percy Jackson, Haya baru saja menyelesaikan dua buku pertama: Pencuri Petir dan Lautan Monster. Sangat seru, menurut Haya.
Haya tipikal gadis yang menyukai novel-novel genre fantasi. Ia sangat suka kisah penyihir, peri bahkan dewi-dewi. Nah kebetulan, novel Percy Jackson ini menceritakan petualangan anak-anak setengah dewa yang harus mengikuti perkemahan. Perkemahan ini dimaksud untuk melatih mereka agar mampu melindungi diri dari para monster.
Yang membuat Haya sangat tergila-gila dengan novel ini adalah karena anak-anak setengah dewa ini punya orang tua seorang dewa sungguhan! Mereka diletakkan di kemah yang sesuai dengan nama orang tua dewa mereka.
Saat sedang asyik membayangkan adegan bertarung, ponsel Haya berdering. Nama ibu muncul di layar ponselnya.
"Halo, Bu," sapa Haya.
"Sudah bangun?" tanya ibu.
"Iya. Baru saja aku bangun," kata Haya.
"Ngomong-ngomong ibu gak jadi pulang minggu depan, Nak," ibu memberi tahu.
Haya berjalan ke arah dapur. "Lho kenapa, Bu?"
"Kayaknya kakak iparmu mau melahirkan minggu depan. Ibu mau di sini menjaga kakak iparmu sampai lahiran deh," ibu memberi tahu.
"Oh."
"Ayahmu senang banget selama di sini. Dia gak sabar punya cucu laki-laki katanya," ibu terdengar sangat senang.
Haya memiliki dua kakak laki-laki. Kakak pertama, bernama Hans yang usianya lebih tua 12 tahun dari Haya. Hans sekarang menetap di Australia bersama istri dan putri kecilnya. 
Kakak kedua, bernama Harun yang usianya lebih tua 10 tahun dari Haya. Harun sekarang bekerja di salah satu bank di Singapore. Istri Harun merupakan warga negara Singapore. Sekarang istri kakaknya itu sedang hamil besar.
Oleh karena itu, ayah dan ibu memilih tinggal di Singapore menemani istri Harun yang sedang hamil tua. Kurang lebih mereka sudah tinggal di sana selama 2 bulan terakhir. Sebenarnya yang paling bersemangat soal kehamilan itu ayah Haya. Ia sangat senang ketika tahu akan mendapat cucu laki-laki pertamanya.
"Oke, Bu. Titip salam sama Harun dan Narina ya. Bilangin ke mereka kalau aku akan ke sana setelah bayinya lahir," kata Haya.
"Sip deh."
Telepon terputus.
Haya mengecek kulkas. Ia mengeluarkan buah-buahan dan nugget. Sejak ibu tinggal di Singapore, Haya banyak menyimpan buah dan makanan beku untuk bertahan hidup.

Haya bersenandung ceria ketika memasuki kantor polisi. Ia berjalan santai menuju lantai 2 tempat Divisi Barang Hilang berada.
Ketika sudah di depan ruang divisinya, Roi dan Ajun sedang berdiri di depan pintu. Aura muka mereka menunjukkan kemarahan.
"Ngapain kalian di sini?" tanya Haya blak-blakan pada kedua seniornya ini.
Roi maju mendekati Haya. "Kamu kan yang ngadu ke Kapten Ji soal kemarin?"
Otak Haya berproses. 
"Apa maksudmu?" tanya Haya bingung.
"Udah deh gak usah sok polos. Aku yakin kamu yang ngadu ke Kapten Ji kemarin," Ajun menuduh Haya.
"Kalian ini pada PMS ya?! Pagi-pagi udah nuduh orang seenaknya!" Haya menyemprot kedua seniornya dengan wajah galak.
Haya mau masuk ke ruang divisinya, tapi tangan Ajun menghalangi pintu. 
"Jawab dulu," kata Ajun dengan nada tinggi.
Wah mereka ini mau cari mati, batin Haya.
Haya melipatkan kedua tangannya di dada. 
"Pertama, aku gak paham apa yang kalian maksud. Kedua, aku gak pernah ngadu ke Kapten Ji. Puas?"
"Kalau gitu kenapa Kapten Ji menghukum kami? Aku yakin semua itu karena kamu, Haya. Gak mungkin Kapten Ji menyuruh kami berdua menyusun semua laporan Divisi Inteligen selama 10 tahun terakhir!" Ajun benar-benar emosi.
Haya hampir tertawa terbahak-bahak. Menyusun laporan Divisi Inteligen selama 10 tahun terakhir kelihatannya sangat berat untuk mereka.
"Wah, tandanya Kapten Ji percaya sama kemampuan po-li-si laki-laki seperti kalian. Bayangkan tugas berat dan penting milik Divisi Inteligen aja diserahkan pada dua po-li-si laki-laki yang katanya di atas po-li-si perempuan cupu macam aku," Haya memberi penekanan pada setiap kata polisi.
Roi sudah mulai kehilangan kesabaran. Ia berniat memukul kepala Haya. Tapi sebelum itu sempat terjadi, Haya sudah menghindar.
"Kamu udah gila?!" Haya membentak Roi.
Tanpa mempedulikan Haya, Roi kembali akan memukul kepala Haya. Tapi sebuah tangan besar mencengkram tangan Roi.
"Apa ini cara kalian bertengkar dengan junior? Apa kalian gak tahu dia perempuan?" tanya suara itu dingin pada Roi.
Untuk sedetik Haya terkesima dengan pria di depannya ini. Tubuhnya tinggi, rambutnya di sisir rapi ke belakang dan matanya… berwarna coklat tua. 
Bukankah ini Ethan, seniornya di akademi dulu? Kenapa dia berubah ganteng sekarang, batin Haya terpukau.
"Gak usah ikut campur deh, Ethan! Ini bukan urusan anak Divisi Inteligen," kata Roi dingin.
"Ada apa ini?" tiba-tiba Kapten Ji muncul.
Langsung Roi dan Ajun ketakutan. Haya dan Ethan juga kaget dengan kehadiran Kapten Ji.
"Kenapa pagi-pagi malah ribut? Apa kerjaan kalian berempat kurang banyak, hah?" suara Kapten Ji menggelegar di sepanjang lorong.
"Ti-tidak, Kapten," jawab Ajun kelagapan.
"Officer Ajun dan Officer Roi kenapa masih di sini? Apa laporan Divisi Inteligen selama 10 tahun terakhir yang kupercayakan pada kalian kurang banyak? Apa perlu aku tambah menjadi 15 tahun?" Kapten Ji menatap kedua officer itu dengan tajam.
"Tidak, Kapten," kata mereka berdua serempak. Lalu lari terbirit-birit ke ruangan arsip Divisi Inteligen.
"Saya pamit juga, Kapten," kata Ethan lalu undur diri.
Haya memperhatikan kepergian Ethan sampai menghilang di ujung lorong. Ethan luar biasa ganteng, batin Haya.
"Sudah puas lihatnya?" kata Kapten Ji lalu menjewer kuping Haya.
��Ahhhh," Haya kesakitan.
"Pagi-pagi sudah bikin keributan. Kamu ini masih junior, Haya! Bisa-bisanya mau berkelahi dengan senior," Kapten Ji sangat kesal.
"Mereka duluan yang mulai," kata Haya masih menahan sakit.
Akhirnya Kapten Ji melepaskan jeweran pada kuping Haya.
"Ya Tuhan, Anakku. Kurang-kurangin bikin masalah lah, Nak. Sekali-kali kamu harus mengalah dengan para senior itu," Kapten Ji menasehati.
Haya malas berdebat.
"Iya, Kapten," kata Haya.
"Aku sampai menghukum mereka berdua untuk membela kamu. Apa kurang cukup?" Kapten Ji benar-benar frustasi.
"Jadi Kapten Ji menghukum kedua senior sialan itu demi aku?" Haya sangat terharu.
Kapten Ji berdeham. "Kecilkan suaramu."
Rasanya Haya ingin sekali memeluk Kapten Ji. Ia tidak menyangka Kapten Ji menghukum Ajun dan Roi demi dirinya. 
"Makasi banyak, Kapten," kata Haya ceria lalu masuk ke ruang Divisi Barang Hilang.
Di dalam ruangan, Haya mengeluarkan ponselnya. Ia mulai mengetik pesan untuk Erika.
[Haya: Ri, nanti pas makan siang makan bareng yuk]
Beberapa detik kemudian.
[Erika: Tumben amat. Mau ngutang?]
Dasar gadis sialan, batin Haya.
[Haya: Enggak lah. Aku mau tanya-tanya tentang Ethan]
[Erika: Ciyeee. Ada yang naksir nih]
[Haya: Awas kalau kamu bilang-bilang yang lain]
[Erika: Tenang aja. Mulutku akan selalu terkunci]
Haya tidak sabar menunggu makan siang. Dia ingin bertanya lebih lanjut tentang Ethan.

I opened my eyes and I looked at my side and smile, "I forgot, that you already gone" I give a heavy sighed and I felt massive headache and I looked at my alarm "it's 08.90 a.m." I looked at my phone and 9 missed call? Really? I took my phone and looked at my phone, "shit, I think... I should get back to work" I smell someone cooking at my kitchen? Wait! I just.. not familiar with the sound.
"Alexa? Can you show me CCTV on living room at 01.00 - 02.00?" Suddenly Alexa give me live video who is living in my living room, "what?" Why you should eat and sleep at my damn house!? I took my bathrobe and opened the door and I saw her there holding a tray "your breakfast, and I thought you were sick?" I just stood there silently watch her. "What are you doing in my damn house!?" Well, I guess should ask her polite, "sorry... I just" I stepped outside and and hold a tray for her.
"We should eat downstairs, let the robot do the jobs okay? I'm tired" she just nodded and I still holding a tray and I can smell coffee and grilled cheese, "Lobak.." I put the tray and looked at her. "You and me it's over, but please... you can ask me. And I thought you are a burglar. I have heart attack. And you know that!" I just took a deep sighed and push the tray.
"It's for you, I'm already late" I just walked simply ignored her and shit! I know, I know, I'm a jerk. I approaches her and hugged her, "I'm sorry to talk like that. I'll eat later. I'm already late" I kissed her forehead and walk to my bathroom to take shower.

FYI, I honestly afraid of heights and really really afraid.

"Thanks, Rose" Rose just nodded "wait, I want ask you something" Rose looked at me closely, "um.. can you call Techno Corp. and said them I don't wanted fly to New York. Instead New York, why we not meeting at Singapore?" Rose nodded, "look, I just tired okay? I don't want waste my time for something I don't want" Rose just writing and nodded, "and... I hope you can told to another that I won't get disturb and I hope tomorrow you can come with me" Rose just nodded.

"Does your boy or girlfriend can wait? Or you already have wife or husband?" I just can't ask them if they have event "I don't have girlfriend or boyfriend" I see, "okay, so your parents? You have family gathering, because it's you know. Chines New Year" Rose shook her head. "Okay, 2 business seats" Rose suddenly nodded and walked to the door. I wish her here, but... I think she just need rest at my house. I looked at windows and saw flying car, sometimes I still want to live freely without people, cars, and buildings. Just trees, nature and wind.
I looked at picture on my office desk and I smiled and put the frame back. I miss you, my bro joined military makes you happy, but here.. I'm a businessman you need my help, I'll be there. I just sighed and looked at my phone and Ryujin? Oh come on! Not know "Hello, Ryujin" I picked up anyway. "No, please, I don't touch her" I just picked my key car and headed to my private lift.

"Listen, I still remember it. and how can I forget? It's hurt" I just let out sighed and unbutton my sweater and give it to her.

"You should shopping, your under ware, clothes, and dress. You know who I am" I am conglomerate, and an author "can you.. sing me to sleep? I miss your voice" I just sighed "no you can't. I have a flight  to catch okay?" She hold my hand, "please" I looked at her face and gives her a warm smile, "okay" I sit under her bed and looked at the ceiling, I let my ceiling using tampered glass and bulletproof. "You like it?" I nodded.
"Alexa, please play Us by James Bay" I looked at her, "I want sleep" she hold my hand, why just now? "Alexa please play More by 5 Seconds of Summers" I standing and I walked to outside to breathing a fresh air.

"Thanks" I got up "okay... we off right now, try to stay quite" Rose nodded and followed me to lobby and our Rolls Royce is waiting at the lobby.
I felt something bad, I don't know how... something felt bad. I felt something off here, "Mr?" I looked at Rose, she looks pale, "Rose. I want ask you something, you can be trust?" Rose just looked at me and and nodded. "Let's go" we get in and here we go. Why I am so nervous? I felt this anxious already. I looked at the outside of a car and I really wanted go back to my house.
"Rose.." suddenly, our car stopped and I saw a man use mask and they shooting at us, I covered Rose's head from the shattered glass, "where the hell is the police?" I just kicked the door and we run , I wanted to dead but not like this! My business with her is not completed yet. we run to another building and another empty building and I looked at my left arm, "it's okay?" I nodded "I lock the door" I looked at my surroundings and found this old pipe and It's still strong.
"Hey, Rose?" I looked at Rose and I approaches her, shit she got shot "h-hey, looked at me" I opened my suit case and wear my glass, "Rose, it will hurt" I operate her with my emergency tools and I heard steps. it's just a matter of time we will got caught by them.
