After dealing with all the zombies surrounding him Merlin whipped the blood from his face and put away his weapons. This action immediately lowered the tension within the police headquarters.
"So, why are you trying to kill me?" questioned Merlin with an amiable smile on his face.
But no one could respond. Nobody actually knew why they were ready to kill a human. Was it from fright? An instinctual desire to survive? An ancient reaction to a natural predator? Nobody was actually sure, even the chief was slightly stunned at the sudden question, but he soon recovered.
"Why are you here? This is just protection."
"Protection? From what? Me?"
"Y- Yes." The chief was embarrassed at this fact. He had prepared an RPG for a fellow human, during a time where survivors are as rare as uranium.
"Haha, you think this can stop me?"
"…" Suddenly, everyone became on guard with this stranger. Sam's finger was already on the trigger mechanism, ready to fire the second the order was given.
Merlin's figure suddenly blurred, before disappearing completely, followed by the sound of glass shattering above their heads. 
On the first floor, Sam had already fallen on his bottom from fright, while Merlin was standing a few meters away, holding his RPG and checking it out, before nodding in satisfaction.
"Follow me" he said as he turned to look at Sam before moving to the stairs and walking down.
After about a minute of having to calm down, Sam reluctantly followed. The thing in front of them was not a human. He was a monster. An absolute monster, capable to climbing a floor, breaking bullet-proof glass along with the reinforcement, and snatching his weapon before Same could even complete pulling the trigger. That thing would easily kill everyone in the entire base within seconds, and receive absolutely no damage. All they could do was to follow every single one of his commands and hope he spares them.

Ahli Sihir Mai telah menyelesaikan rapalan mantranya dan segera mengeluarkan mantra terkuatnya.
"Lihat betapa jeleknya kalian!"
"Eh!?" Ketiga monster itu mendapatkan serangan kritis berturut-turut.
"Gaya rambut kalian konyol sekali, dan terlalu banyak bau hairspray! Baju kalian berkualitas rendah, dan kalian bahkan tidak tahu bagaimana memadu padankan warna! Sepatu kalian kotor, celana kalian berdebu dan banyak noda di baju kalian! Kalian bahkan tak mengenakan make up di wajah kalian, ada bulu hidung yang terlihat pula! Tak lupa ada begitu banyak kotoran di sudut mata kalian!"
Kekuatan sihir AOE yang kuat menyerang langsung semua musuh dalam satu serangan.
"Wah!!" Para monster A, B dan C menangis kesakitan.
"Kalian gegabah, vulgar dan kotor….kalian bahkan berani berbicara pada kami yang berbeda dengan kalian. Heh heh, jika mata kalian masih berfungsi, lihat baik-baik seseorang disamping kami ini." Ahli Sihir Mai mengaktifkan mantra teleportasi dan mengirim Seiji, yang menjadi prajurit pendukung garis belakang, berpindah ke garis depan.
Prajurit Seiji bekerjasama dengan menampilkan senyuman tampan yang memikat!
"Ahh!" Ketiga monster itu terbutakan oleh cahaya.
"Kalian bahkan tidak sampai 10 persennya dia… tidak, kalian bahkan tak sebanding."
Ahli sihir Mai mengeluarkan serangan terakhir – sebuah pandangan merendahkan. Mirip ketika seseorang memandang rendah sebuah serangga yang menjijikkan, sebuah serangan yang mengancurkan hati para monster.
"Pergi sana ke neraka! Dasar sampah.'
Mereka seperti mendengar dengan jelas kata itu keluar darinya.
"Maafkan kami!!" Ketiga monster itu kalah dan pergi tanpa pesan.
'Cara yang luar biasa untuk menghancurkan para monster, demi pengalamanku.' Dalam hati Seiji memuji teknik yang digunakan Mai.
Uhuk, uhuk, semua ini hanyalah pikiran berlebihan Seiji, taburkan saja sedikit garam.
Kejadian yang sama terjadi berulang lagi setelahnya.
Setiap kali, Saki akan melindungi Mayuzumi, sementara Seiji dan Mai bergabung menyingkirkan para pria tidak penting itu.
Tidak peduli segala macam pria yang mereka temui, seorang laki-laki tampan dan seorang pelayan perempuan telah mengalahkan mereka dengan mudah dan terlihat keren saat melakukannya.
Paling tidak, sang pengarang manga berpikiran demikian.
Mayuzumi mendapatkan inspirasi baru, aliran ide mengalir deras. Dia bahkan telah mendapatkan sebuah karakter baru berikut dengan plot ceritanya dan tak dapat menghentikan dirinya sendiri untuk terus memikirkannya.

Mereka sampai di stan aktivitas lainnya.
Itu adalah sebuah stan permainan teka-teki. Seiji mendapatkan teka-teki yang mudah dan menyelesaikannya dengan cepat serta memperoleh emblem kemenangan.
Saki juga telah menyelesaikan teka-tekinya.
Sementara Mayuzumi dan Mai masih berpikir dan saling berdiskusi mengenai teka-teki mereka.
Sang editor berdiri di area pintu keluar sementara dia mengawasi teman baiknya, Peach-sensei, sedang bersenang-senang sambil berbincang dengan seorang gadis yang baru dikenalnya.
"Silahkan, Editor Yoshizawa," Ujar seseorang yang berada di sebelahnya.
Tentu saja, orang itu adalah Seiji.
Dia membeli beberapa minuman dan menyerahkannya pada si editor.
"Terima kasih."
Saki menerimanya, membuka tutupnya dan meminumnya.
Cairan menyegarkan dan dingin itu menyusuri tenggorokannya.
"Sensei sepertinya menyukai Houjou-senpai." Seiji mengamati mereka berdua dan meminum minumannya.
"Yah…"
"Aku selalu merasa bahwa Sensei adalah orang yang pasif, tapi melihatnya saat ini membuatku menyadari bahwa ternyata dia juga proaktif. Apakah dia selalu seperti ini ketika bertemu dengan seseorang yang membuatnya tertarik?"
Saki mengerjapkan mata ketika memikirkan hal itu. "Kurasa begitu. Sangat jarang kulihat dia seperti ini…paling tidak sudah lama sekali aku tidak pernah melihatnya seperti ini."
"Oh…"
Saki menyesap minumannya lagi.
Seiji melakukan hal yang sama.
"Editor Yoshizawa, berapa lama kau mengenal Sensei? Kudengar kau adalah temannya semasa SMA."
"Ya, aku mengenal Mayuzumi di SMA. Itu sudah….sepuluh tahun yang lalu."
"Sepuluh tahun…berteman selama sepuluh tahun itu hebat." Seiji tersenyum. "Kemarin ketika aku berbincang dengan Sensei di Kedai kopi, dia berkata bahwa kau seperti seorang kakak perempuan yang terlalu mudah khawatir, yang selalu menjaganya dan dia bersyukur akan hal itu. Di saat yang sama, dia juga berharap agar kau tak perlu terlalu khawatir padanya, karena dia tak ingin kau lelah karenanya."
"Oh…" Raut wajah Saki melembut.
"Di mata Editor Yoshizawa, orang seperti apakah Sensei? Apakah menurutmu dia tipe orang yang membutuhkan seseorang untuk menjaganya?"
"….Tidak juga," Ucap Saki setelah terdiam sejenak.
Saki menatap temannya dengan lekat. "Bagiku, Mayuzumi adalah…terlepas bahwa dia seseorang yang yang selalu kujaga, lebih penting lagi, dia adalah….seseorang yang harus kulindungi."
Dia mengucapkan kata terakhir dengan suara yang terdengar lemah.
Orang biasa mungkin tak dapat mendengarnya, tapi Seiji sanggup mendengarnya dan menaikkan alisnya karena terkejut.
Seseorang yang harus dilindungi…apa maksudnya?
Namun dia tak terlihat seperti seseorang yang 'melindungi' dalam artian romantis – Rika Amami telah memberitahunya bahwa Editor Yoshizawa bukanlah seorang lesbian yang jatuh cinta pada Peach-sensei. Seiji pun berpikir demikian.
Kata "melindungi…" ini terdengar seperti bahwa itu adalah "tugasnya."
Sebuah tugas….jika itu masalahnya, mengapa Editor Yoshizawa merasa bahwa sudah tugasnya untuk harus melindungi Peach-sensei?
Seiji merasa amat penasaran akan hal ini.
Walau begitu, ini bukanlah hal yang perlu dia ketahui lebih dalam, karena ini adalah masalah pribadi mereka. Dia memutuskan untuk berhenti bertanya.
"Bagaimana denganmu, Harano?"
"Eh?"
"Bukankah kau menginginkan Mayuzumi sebagai istrimu? Dimatamu, seperti apakah Mayuzumi?" Saki mengeluarkan wajah seriusnya dan menanti jawaban Seiji.
Seiji tak tahu bagaimana menanggapinya.
Dia bahkan hampir lupa akan kesalahpahaman ini!

Di dunia baru yang mirip dengan game 2-D itu, dia hanya ingin menikmati hidup dan berjalan menuju masa depan yang mulia… Namun, dia dengan cepat terlibat dalam suatu plot yang kompleks. Dapatkah ia membebaskan potensinya dan menggunakan sistemnya untuk melepas rantai-rantai yang mengikat dirinya dan menemukan kebenaran mengenai keadaan tubuh sebelumyna?


"Dungeon World..." Aku mengulangi, lalu mengangkat bahu, memasukkan game itu ke Nintendo-ku. "Nggak ada salahnya mencobanya."

Layar akhirnya terbuka, dan aku segera menggelengkan kepala. Apaan ini… tidak ada gambar! Apa mungkin ini game Atari? layarnya hitam dengan teks putih yang bertuliskan Dungeon World, diikuti dengan kata-kata, 'Mulai Hidup Baru Kamu!'

Aku mengklik tombol start. Apakah game ini lebih seperti kehidupan kedua? Ini mungkin salah satu game Java Mudd yang populer puluhan tahun yang lalu. Aku tidak keberatan memainkan game RPG berbasis teks, terutama jika ceritanya cukup bagus.

Pilih kelasmu. Aku membaca apa yang ada di layar. "Kelasmu bukanlah Job kamu. Kelas akan menentukan jenis skill yang akan kamu peroleh untuk bertualang di Dungeon World. Pilih dengan bijak, karena gaya bermain kamu akan sangat bervariasi berdasarkan kelasmu."

Kelasnya sama sekali tidak seperti yang ku harapkan. Daripada game RPG tradisional seperti mage dan warrior, game ini jauh lebih luas. Kelas pertama adalah Weapon Offense. Yang kedua adalah Shield Defense. Yang Ketiga adalah Stealth. Lalu ada Long-Distance. Hand to Hand. Magical Attack. Magical Defense. Mataku turun dari daftar sampai jatuh pada salah satu yang menarik perhatianku.

Support. Hanya itu yang tertulis. Tidak satupun dari semua kelas yang memiliki gambaran tentang apa yang bisa lakukan. Tampaknya akan menjadi game yang jauh lebih buruk dari yang ku harapkan. Itu sama sekali tidak intuitif. Namun, aku selalu berperan sebagai karakter pendukung. Aku tidak suka karakter tipe menyerang. Sebaliknya, aku sering bermain sebagai Monster Tamer atau Necromancer dan memanggil legiun untuk bertarung demi aku. Kemudian, aku akan duduk kembali sementara mereka mempertaruhkan nyawa mereka, menggunakan sihir kecil untuk membantu memperkuat dan membuat mereka terus maju. Aku cukup menyukai karakter seperti Necromancer, Druid, atau Monster Tamer… jadi Support tampaknya paling sesuai yang bisa aku pilih.

Aku memilih Support, dan kemudian muncul layar lainnya. Ia memintaku untuk memilih Job.

"Ah, ini dia." Aku mengangguk untuk menegaskan.

Daftar ini memberikan hal-hal yang biasanya aku lakukan. Ada herbalist, white mage, monster tamer, support mage, dan masih banyak lagi. Di layar terdapat beberapa teks.

Job kamu bisa menjadi apa pun yang kamu inginkan. Dengan kelas yang sesuai, kamu dapat beralih Job sesuka hatimu. Namun, selain Job awal kamu, semua Job lain harus dibuka kuncinya. Kamu harus menemukan cara membuka kunci Job kamu sendiri.

Aku mengerutkan kening pada instruksi yang agak membingungkan. Jadi… pada dasarnya, aku dapat memiliki Job apa pun yang aku inginkan selama aku membukanya? Itu tampak sangat hebat bagiku. Pada akhirnya, aku memutuskan untuk menjadi white mage. Bukannya aku tidak tergoda oleh monster tamer, tapi aku akan bisa menggunakan kemampuan itu nanti. Pada awalnya, aku menemukan hal yang paling bermasalah di dalam game, dan itu adalah ketidakmampuan untuk menyembuhkan. Potion biasanya sangat mahal, jadi sihir penyembuhan sederhana sangatlah membantu.

Tentu saja, aku tidak akan memiliki banyak serangan, itu mungkin baik-baik saja. White mage biasanya adalah dasar dalam permainan awal. Setelah aku beralih ke sesuatu seperti monster tamer, dalam hubungannya dengan skill white mage, ku pikir aku akan cukup kuat. Jadi, aku memilih Job white mage. Aku ragu tentang kualitas game ini, tetapi aku agak bersemangat untuk mencobanya. Jika payah, aku akan memainkan yang lain.

"Iya." Aku berkata keras-keras saat mengklik, "Ayo kita lanjutkan."

"Tunggu...apa?" Kata-kata itu tidak muncul di TV, tetapi muncul di tengah-tengah penglihatanku.

Sesaat kemudian, aku dikelilingi oleh cahaya putih saat dunia di sekitar ku menghilang.

Aku miskin. Aku gemuk. Perempuan yang aku suka baru saja menolakku dan bahkan aku dipukuli karenanya. Aku hanya ingin pulang dan memainkan beberapa video game. Sekarang, aku berada di dalam video game yang bernama Dungeon World, dan aku diharapkan mengambil risiko setiap hari untuk mendapatkan hadiah. Sayangnya aku memilih kelas Support dan terlalu canggung berinteraksi dengan orang lain apabila diikutkan ke dalam sebuah party. Tunggu… dunia ini membolehkan perbudakan? Aku dapat membuat perempuan cantik berjuang untukku, dan kemudian menghangatkan tempat tidurku setiap malam? Mungkin dunia ini cukup bagus untukku.

It all started with one man. This man was named Marcus. Marcus was you're every day deadbeat. He lived off his family his entire life. 

He's 51 now and his parents both died a couple years ago. First, it was his father and then his mother. They believed that they were each other's soul mates so once one died the other one followed not long after. 

At first, Marcus was grief-stricken but when he found out his parents left him with their lifetime of belongings he was overjoyed. 
But within these few measly years, Marcus used up almost all of the money he got from sailing his late parent's belongings.

Marcus was now homeless with just $25 to his name. This past couple of weeks Marcus really reflected on what's he's done with his life and he realized that he could really sum his life up with one word "nothing".

His regret was so strong it left a scar on his heart. He decided that with whatever years he had left he would spend it making something of his self.

At that moment when Marcus made this commitment to make something of his self, some construction workers were working on a skyscraper behind Marcus.

"Yo Jeff don't drop anything from this height if it falls and hits someone it can cause some serious damage to them". 

Right as the supervisor said this Jeff miss stepped and kick his metal toolbox of the ledge. The box fell 24 stories down until it hit Marcus in the head. 

All Marcus felt was a very sudden an hard pressure on the top of his head and the next thing he knew was everything went black. 

The next thing Marcus knew he started hearing sounds. They at first sounded like muffled grunts. But he then saw a circle of light. At first, it was small but I got bigger and bigger until Marcus was blinded by the light.

When Marcus eyes adjusted to the light he realized he was being held upside down by his leg. When he looked at was holding him he was scared almost to death. The thing holding him was a giant grotesque green monster. His had large beady eyes with large pointy ears and it also had the nose of a classic witch long and protruding. 

As soon as Marcus could recover from his initial shock he started flaring around by doing this Marcus hit the green monster in the eye. 

This pissed the green monster of. Marcus regretted it the moment he did it. The green monster carried Marcus through a dark a damp cavern. It took a left from the main hallway of the cavern into a room that had to have bee dug out my by these strange monsters. Inside this small room was about 20 or so of little small versions of the green monsters. 

The monster through Marcus right into the middle of the monsterling group. When Marcus landed he looked at his body and started to scream. 

His body was dark green just like the monster. Marcus finally realized something he was one of these ugly little things too. He didn't know what to do. He just couldn't figure out what had happened to him.

Marcus started to take down mental notes of everything so far. "green monster, dark tunnel with a light at the end of it" right has Marcus thought of this he realized what happened. He must if somehow died and reincarnated into what he assumed was a goblin. 

Marcus also realized he must not be on earth anymore because on earth goblins where just a low-level fantasy monster. Right as Marcus was thinking about this a sound went off in his head and a notice popped up in his vision.

As soon as Marcus saw this he became extremely happy. But know he had a very hard decision to make. The RPG system sounded really interesting but so did the sacred weapon. The third option sounds fun too. "hm, which one should I choose" is what Marcus meant to say but it really came out was a bunch of weird sounds that actually sounded kinda cute.

A Man named Marcus lived his life in greed, using up almost all off the money his parents left him when they died eventually becoming homeless. After a couple of weeks of being homeless Marcus told himself he would finally make something of himself. right after Marcus was killed by Jeff the construction worker. The next thing Marcus knew he was a baby goblin in a strange fantasy world with some kind of mystery system.
