Hearing the sobs, the interrogator Agernessa became puzzled.
The voice was indeed from that scary existence but… why was it sobbing?
A few nights earlier, the new scary existence tore the original overlord of the third floor into shreds; fanatical laughs sounded during the process, and it caused chills in Agernessa whenever she thought about it.
But now?
When the sobbing entered her eyes, Agernessa pictured a soft, little girl, the kind that she used to bully in the past.
Carefully, Agernessa stuck her head up to third floor.
She saw a little girl dressed in a pink lolita dress with a twintail hair-style squatting down before Kieran and sobbing violently.
The little girl's image was exactly what Agernessa pictured: cute, soft, and bulliable.
When Agernessa saw the little girl, the little girl saw her too.
"Sob sob sob, here she is. I caught her! Sob sob sob, she is tasty!"
As the blurry voice sounded, the little girl appeared before Agernessa with absurd speed and reached out to grab her.
Agernessa wanted to dodge, but the little girl's hand suddenly grew as big as a milestone. The huge hand didn't just block Agernessa's retreat, but also easily grabbed her.
The little girl had transformed into a mini giant. Her muscles grew bigger and broke her lolita dress; sharp fangs grew out of her enlarged mouth, and the twintails stuck up into the air like two sharp horns.
"Hohoho, got good!"
A series of groans later, the mini devil-like giant walked towards Kieran.
Each step it took, its body grew smaller, and when it arrived in front of Kieran, the monster returned to its little girl look with the pink lolita dress and twintail hair-style. She looked at Kieran with her teary eyes.
"Food! Food! Don't eat me, sob sob sob."
Agernessa was thrown in front of Kieran's feet, and the little girl squatted down in sobs again.
Lying down beside Kieran's feet, Agernessa looked at a blinding light on the ceiling while hearing the sobs beside her. She fell into a complete daze.
'What happened?
'The new overlord of the third floor seems to be very afraid of the lord I've already pledged allegiance to?
'Can it be… that I bet on the right side?'
A shudder later, Agernessa came back from her dazed state. She didn't know why the third floor overlord would be so scared of Kieran, but it didn't stop her from showing her obedience.
She turned over and threw herself down at Kieran's feet in reverence.
"My lord, do you still want to search for that book about Arnold Sect?" she said with utmost flattery.
Agernessa crawled closer to Kieran and almost stuck her face to his shoes.
"Em." Kieran nodded blankly.
"I will search for the related books as soon as possible!" Agernessa said as if she was pronouncing some deadly vows before throwing herself over the book racks of the third floor.
When she moved past the little girl, Agernessa glanced over at the shaking little girl.
'New overlord? So what? You are a newbie!
'I am the earliest follower here, and I will become the biggest follower of his lordship here!'
Agernessa suddenly went into character as she retrieved information from the books.
Huu!
A gale blew over the racks, and all the books floated up as if an invisible pair of hands were lifting them up.
Kieran looked at the unusual scene Agernessa was creating but wasn't baffled by it because the Old Book Canberlanor had similar abilities, so it wasn't anything new.
However, the little girl in the lolita dress was different. 
Unlike the interrogator, who was bound to the library, the little girl could move around the campus freely and could even see the hidden aura and strength of Kieran.
"What did you sense?" Kieran looked down at the doll-like little girl who was still sobbing from a commanding position.
"Nothing! Sob sob sob, don't eat me!"
The twintailed little girl tried to answer as clear as possible, but as she spoke, her sobs overtook her words. She didn't even dare to look Kieran in the eye; it was as if she was a little girl who got lost from her parents.
Except for the fact that Kieran had seen her transform into a mini giant.
"Stop, sob anymore and I'll eat you," said Kieran.
His words sounded like some voodoo charm hastening her death. Her sobs got stuck in her throat; it was suffering for her, but she swallowed it down regardless. She then looked up at Kieran cowardly.
What did she see?
She saw Kieran standing in front of her and also the shadows behind him.
There was a devil covered in magma that roared at the sky.
There was an armored knight that shined brightly.
There was also multiple Kierans who looked like clones or mirages of himself; they looked the same but had different expressions. There was an arrogant one, a lazy one and that… terrifying monster who kept swallowing its saliva!
It was too scary!
The moment she saw the monster, she felt like she had met the bane of her existence!
No, not bane, but cataclysm. A catastrophe that would consume everything! The horror was beyond logic in the little girl's mind.
Sobs almost burst out again, but before the tears rolled down her cheeks, the little girl remembered what Kieran said earlier. She suppressed her tears and looked at Kieran with her puppy eyes, waiting for him to react.
"You were the one in the gymnasium earlier?" Kieran asked.
"Yes." The little girl nodded with her twintails waving.
"The crying gymnasium and the secret treasure is also because of you?"
"The crying gymnasium is, but not the secret treasure. Long before I arrived at the gymnasium, the legend about the secret treasure had already been there. I didn't find it though," the little girl said seriously.
"Is that so?" A sense of regret appeared in Kieran's eyes.
He already knew the gymnasium had no secret treasure, but when the twintailed little girl appeared, his heart hoped for the best and wanted to feel lucky again.
Reality once again told Kieran that having fantasies was a useless thought.
However, even without a secret treasure, he could still be compensated.
As the thought came into his mind, the aura on him slight changed. 
The changes were subtle, but they were very obvious in the eyes of the little girl. She saw the drooling monster stand up slowly, wanting to jump at her.
Between vanishing and continuing to exist, the little girl, who had witnessed how Kieran did things, relied on her many years of being a ghost to quickly make the right decision.
"I know all the hidden spots of Theorate E Block. I also know all the legends and other similar existences… like me! They are all tastier than me, and they have a habit of keeping treasures!"
The twintailed little girl spoke absurdly fast, probably the fastest she had ever spoken in her life, dead or before.
She then sensed the drooling monster slowly go back into the shadows.
"Treasures, you say?" Kieran asked.
"Yes, my dear lord! A lot of treasures! I can gather an army for you, and they will become an irreplaceable aid for you in the future!" The little girl tried her best to display her value.
Army?! 
Kieran squinted his eyes.
Considering the things he lacked in this dungeon world, manpower was definitely one of them.
Although he had [Mesly Ring], because of his plan, he couldn't use [Mesly Ring] in a wide area.
Once the dominated pawns attracted the attention of the principal or Smith in hiding, his plans would surely fall short from success. It was something Kieran would never allow to happen.
However, an army formed by the little girl was different.
Kieran believed that the principal and Smith must know about an existence like the little girl, but it must be because of certain matters that they didn't care.
Given the circumstances, Kieran had the ground to turn things around.
If he could use it to his benefit, he could achieve a surprising effect.
"What's your name?" Kieran asked.
"Averdore Lily!" 
The little girl heaved a breath of relief after she heard the question.
"Hmm, Averdore Lily, sign this."
Kieran nodded and gave her a goatskin scroll.
Averdore Lily's eye twitched when she saw the scroll, for the contents mentioned the 'bindings' she hated so much. She hesitated.
"You don't want to?" Kieran asked.
The drooling monster in the shadows started to move again, and Averdore Lily saw it clearly.
Giving up her freedom or being wiped out of existence?
The question wasn't a hard one for most people, but for Averdore Lily, who had already died once, dying was a really painful experience, and she didn't want to go through it again.
"I will sign!" Averdore Lily grabbed the contract scroll right away.
Agernessa also saw the scene from further away.
Some thoughts later, Kieran took out another scroll for Agernessa.
Although some of Agernessa's abilities overlapped with the Old Book, Canberlanor's, compared to the Old Book's supportive features, Kieran looked forward to Agernessa's combat abilities.
Using a not-so-expensive companion contract on a decent companion was quite the deal in Kieran's point of view.
Agernessa and Averdore Lily.
Kieran nodded in satisfaction when he looked at the two new companion contracts.
He might be fighting alone in this war, but it didn't mean he couldn't buy himself some help.
Compared to newbie players who were unpredictable, Kieran tended to trust natives bound to contracts more.
Of course, if he was teaming up with Starbeck or Lawless, it would be an entirely different story.
However, both of them had their own matters to deal with too.
Starbeck would never enter a dungeon until the last minute, and Kieran would never trouble Lawless unless absolutely necessary.
"Continue," Kieran said.
Agernessa continued looking for the books on Arnold Sect while Averdore Lily looked at Kieran in confusion.
"Go gather the army like you promised. I want them," said Kieran.
"Oh, oh, I got it!"
Averdore Lily nodded in realization before vanishing on the spot.
After a little glance at the spot where Averdore Lily vanished, Agernessa's cautiousness instantly halved.
"Powerful but too stupid! You will never threaten me!"
Agernessa then continued her search with a peace of mind.
Meanwhile, Averdore Lily appeared outside the library with a cold chuckle.
"Interrogator? What a fool, you are so easily deceived!"
The disdainful-looking little girl took a deep breath before she started to think about her plan.
"Who should I start with? The study room in the 2nd year building? The garden? Or the toilet of the 3rd years?"
The little girl hopped away as she muttered.
She looked extremely cute under the sun, and with her pink lolita dress, she looked like a moving doll.
Some watchers who were paying attention to Kieran were captivated by Averdore Lily. A few of them's eyes glimmered, and they showed evil smiles.
They followed Averdore Lily while in hiding and…
They were never seen or heard from again.
…
Seconds turned into minutes.
When the sun set, the moon rose.
Book after book was placed on the table, all being about the Arnold Sect.
After finishing reading the last book on the table, Kieran took a sip of tea and grabbed a biscuit from the silver pastry tray of the third floor. 
Kacha!
He put the biscuit in his mouth, and after a bite, the taste of sesame and butter rapidly spread across his tongue. It refreshed him for awhile after reading for so long.
"My lord, do you need any more pastries?" Agernessa asked with two pastry baskets in her hands.
The two baskets were from the second and third floors respectively.
The second floor was her turf to begin with, so she knew where to get them.
She was new to the third floor, but finding tea and pastries was an easy task.
The pastries and drinks were prepared for readers to fill up their stomachs after a long reading session.
They were freshly baked everyday, and the higher the floor, the better the pastries, despite there barely being anyone on the third floor.
As for those on the second floor?
In order to provide a better reading environment for Kieran, Agernessa 'kindly asked' the readers, and every one of them made the best decision to give up.
"Put them all here," Kieran said after a glance at the two baskets.
"Noted."
With a sweet smile, Agernessa arranged all the pastries on the tray, and after doing so, she brought hot water to fill up Kieran's empty cup.
The aroma of tea spread again, but this time with the richness of the pastries and the smell of books.
It was a delightful moment for Kieran before footsteps sounded from the second floor.
Dak Dak Dak Dak.
The steps were heavy, and they didn't sound like normal walking, but rather, done on purpose, as if someone was declaring his or her arrival.
Disturbed, Kieran furrowed his brows.


Welcome to a virtual underground game with no protection, full of lurking players who seek survival, power, and fortune. Kieran chose to enter this VRMMORPG game without hesitation, because he knew this was the only way for him to escape death’s grasp. Can he escape death in real life though, or will he end up dying inside the game? 

Surrounding Script Tower were well armed guards, each individual guard was powerful in their own right. 

There was a man in his early twenties, conversing with the guards in front of the Script Tower. 

"Ignitius!" 

Hearing his name, he turns around to see the young dirty blonde girl. 

"Oh it's you Heather" 

He waved to her. 

"It's gonna be my 14th birthday soon!" Heather happily exclaimed. 

Ignitius laughed, she was almost fourteen yet she still retained her childlike innocence and wonder. 

"That's great you're almost old enough to enter Script Tower." said Ignitius.

It was a beautiful morning, big fluffy white clouds were scattered across the vast blue sky. Birds were perched atop the rooftops, singing a harmonious tune. People could be seen pushing open their window frames, ready to start a new day. 

Fulrian strolled leisurely through the streets of Arcadium City's outer circle. The Outer Circle mainly consist of manual labour jobs. She carried a pouch of Mana Crystals on one hand and a book on the other. She planned on making as many detours as she can before picking up Caerum. Along the streets were many mages going about with their daily routines. Children can be seen showing off their magic to one another. Farmers were carting their goods towards the Inner Circle to be sold and occasional patrol groups passed by. 

Between all these sights there was one building that stood out. A shop selling a variety of one use magic items and practical magic tools. The bell attached beside the door rang soundly as Fulrian entered the shop. In the shop, the shelves had only a few magic items, each costing a little fortune. A young boy sat at the reception desk. He rested his head atop of his fist, engrossed in his book that he was reading, being completely unaware that a customer had arrived despite the warning bell. He wore grey sleeveless shirt and had navy blue hair.

"Hey Korvis," said Fulrian.

Startled by the intrusion the young mage quickly slammed his book shut. 

"Huh? Oh, hello! Welcome dear customer." replied Korvis. 

He stood upright and tossed his book onto his seat. He quickly made a welcoming smile. 

"Were ya reading something naughty Korvis?" she chuckled. 

Hearing that Korvis got a bit flustered "O-of course not," he hid his book from the prying eyes of Fulrian. 

The book cover read 'Daggers of passion' a novel featuring BL, it was his guilty pleasure. 

"Anyways, don't you have something to buy since your here?" Korvis blurted out attempting to immediately change the topic. 

"I'd like two steel swords." taking the bait, Fulrian focused back on why she was here. 

Having the crisis averted, Korvis hid his book and grabbed two steel swords from the weapon rack. 

"Here you are. Do you want to buy a magic item to accompany this purchase perhaps?" asked Korvis politely. 

"Hmm. Could I get then, three bottles of healing water." Fulrian replied. 

"Okay, that totals up to seven Mana Crystals." Korvis counted. 

Fulrian fished around for Mana Crystals in her pouch. She took seven Mana Crystals and slammed them onto the counter. 

"That enough?" she asked.

He nodded as he took the crystals. Strapping the swords to her back and the bottles to her waist, she headed towards the exit. 

"Wait!" Korvis shouted. 

Fulrian stopped and turned towards Korvis.

"I've forgot to give you something," Korvis rushed towards Fulrian. "Someone had given me a letter addressed to you." said Korvis as he handed the letter over to Fulrian. 

"I assume those swords were for Caerum, right? Why are you trying to train him anyways?" Korvis asked curiously. 

Fulrain ignored Korvis and proceeded to open the addressed letter. She couldn't help but smirk as she examined the contents of the letter. 

"You could say it's my job." Fulrian replied as she exited the store. 

Korvis stared helplessly at the exit, as he watched her leave the store. He gave Fulrian's answer some thought before reaching for his book to continue where he left off. The bell rang again before he even started reading. A dark haired youth entered the shop. Korvis looked surprised with his arrival, but that surprise soon turned into a warm smile. 

"Good morning, Cohen." 

As Fulrian walked, she poured the letter and it's content into her pouch, taking only the necklace out.The necklace had a small blue seashell attached on the end, holding the two chains together. She paused to put on the necklace and then continued walking down the street. Fulrian still had to do a few things before visiting Caerum. The streets were starting to get wider as she walked. She was starting to enter the Inner Circle of the city, it was much more lively and packed, compared to the Outer Circle. Fulrian walked into the city's market. There were many merchants in the market yelling out their goods and prices. 

"Selling wind blessed necklace right here! You won't find a better price then over here!" 

"Selling refined Comourdium! Their selling fast!" 

Merchants attracted by the prospect, took it on themselves to sell their magical wares at exorbitant prices to the many visitors of Arcadium City. Not only were there merchants, there were also street performers showing off their magic in creative ways, surrounded by small crowds mostly consisting of children. Fulrian ignored all of the commotion happening around her and simply continued walking deeper into the Inner Circle. 

A massive church was situated in the middle of an extremely populated spot. It was the church of Zyrain, the god of creation. The church was enveloped in a radiant light, the windows were tinted in bright colours, each depicting an important event done by the god himself. These depictions included all ten of the Mythic cleansings. Contrasting to the rest of the black and white church. Though there were also the elemental churches, these churches didn't harbour any enmity towards each other. They were more like an off branch of the Zyrain churches. 

Many church goers could be seen exiting and entering the church. The priests of the massive church were wearing black and white robes and could be seen wandering and keeping order inside the sacred building. The priests of the church seemed a bit uneasy, their discomfort showed on their faces, they seemed worried for something. Fulrain entered the massive entrance of the church. The inside of the church was more grand than the exterior, Luminous orbs made of pure light floated about in the church, illuminating the surroundings. Large pillars each fine in detail, supported the large infrastructure. It was evident that the Zyrain priests paid every expense to create such a church. Fulrian rummaged through her pouch of Mana Crystals, taking out a few Mana Shards. Though the sights were something to marvel at, she just came to pray. At the end of the church was a statue of Zyrain. The statue looked so lifelike, it was an androgynous figure that seemed to luminous. Its short hair was a brilliant rainbow, Zyrain also wore a black and white coat. It seemed to project an aura of might and dignity. She kneeled before the figure and prayed, what she prayed for wasn't for herself but for Caerum. Though she knew that the Zyrain wouldn't deal with such a minor request such as this (gods usually don't meddle in mortal affairs). She still took her time to seek Zyrain for his protection. It was her responsibility to protect Caerum, but more importantly she wanted to see him grow out of his insecurities. 

She dropped Mana Shards into the donation box. She doesn't often visit the church, but the training that was going to be imposed on Caerum was going to be severe. She couldn't take any chances. Stepping out of the church, Fulrian patted the side of her waist, her book was still firmly strapped on. 

Adjusting herself, she went further into the Inner Circle. A group of kids ran in front of her, playing a game of tag, a kid behind cloaked himself in wind, using the wind to assist in his chase. Running at such a fast pace, he was not far behind, only to later trip scraping himself on the ground. The kid started tearing up, his arm had an abrasion, but it wasn't too serious, people stopped abruptly to comfort him. Seeing the state that the kid was in, Fulrian grinned in the feeling of amusement and contempt for the child as she continued to stroll by. She was now nearing the center of the city - the Central Circle, which housed many important figures and buildings. 

One being the Erdenhat Library, a massive spire filled with ancient scriptures and books. It was Fulrian's last destination before going to Caerum. The library is the largest accumulation of knowledge in the continent after the frigid desolation. Surrounding Fulrain, were many scholars and magic researchers. People have come all across the continent to access it. Scholars can be seen reinterpreting old books, decrepit from the frigid desolation. natural light streamed in from the transparent ceiling. Leading up to the ceiling, was a massive spiral ramp that lined the inner walls. The inner walls of the library were rows and rows of filled bookshelves. Hanging platforms situated themselves in the empty space that harboured near the centre of the tower, each like a mini garden built for leisurely reading. Sky mages flew around rearranging books. They wore the standard blue coats, but their emblem featured an opened book. They were the lorekeeper mages. 

There was a wide central pillar, that supported the many stairwells, as well as storing the more important books inside. Sitting on the side of the pillar was what looked to be a 10 year old girl cloaked in purple and gold who overlooked the library, she too had the lorekeeper emblem. Though Fulrian had been here a few times, she couldn't help but marvel at the sight. She unbuckled the book from her waist. Coming up to the reception area beneath the pillar. 

"Hello, is there anything you need?" asked the receptionist.

"I'd like to return this book thank you." Fulrain replied in a polite manner. 

Taking the book the Receptionist activated her rare magic, True Sight. With this, she scanned the book. Seeing as the book was fine, she removed the tracking seal placed within the book. 

"Thank you." The receptionist said as she stored away the book for the Sky mages to handle later.

Fulrian could have watched the lorekeepers work all day, but she still had things to do. Stepping out of the library she gazed at the sky, a spider had crawled onto her shoulder from when she had exited. She raised a finger towards the spider, sending a stun bolt arcing towards. The spider fell onto the palm of her hand, convulsing in pain. She briefly measured the position of the sun. It was already quarter way to midday, she couldn't keep Caerum waiting. She channeled the mana into her entire body, lightning covered her, at the same time also killing the spider. 

She turned into a lightning bolt and arced down the street, reappearing in a flash. Her lightning travelling ability had limited range and drained a bit of her mana. Using this ability she bounded down the street, back onto the Outer Circle. Using up a majority of her mana, she had arrived at Caerum' home. Quickly adjusting herself after zapping through town, she put on a smile and came up to the door. "Hey Caerum! Come out! It's time for your trainin

Newly graduated from Alistair Academy  Caerum is now thrust into a new world with a grand ambition. He plans to take his time getting there, a slow reasonable pace. But those plans are soon thrown out the window with the intervention of his childhood friend.

As a hobby I don't have much time to write, so expect 1 chapter per week at best.

"Why are you here again?" she asked while munching the chips. It's been exactly two hours since Jungkook stayed in the house with her and she felt like she's been missing a lot.

Jungkook grinned and munched down the chips top while watching Ironman. He was cheering for Ironman while she was about to cry.

"I miss Jimin already," she suddenly blurted out. Jungkook, on the other hand felt bullets pierced his heart when his brain processed the information.

Suddenly, he felt his mood go down. He didn't have any guts to cheer or watch the movie anymore. His appetite for the chips vanished.

"I'm going to cook some foods," she excused herself. When she got to the kitchen, she immediately slapped her face. She felt the energy of the room drained and she knew why.

It was because of the thing she suddenly said that changed everything. How could she face him now? She blinked three times before jumping up and down three times. She was cursing herself for saying such a stupid remark.

"Do you have any cold drinks?" he suddenly asked. She shrieked before she got a grip on herself.

"shit, why do you have to scare me like that? Oh yeah, there's soft drinks on the second shelf. If you want ice pops or sweets, it's in the bottom shelf," she said while pouring the flour on the bowl. She cracked three eggs and did her thing while he was watching her back.

He was feeling awful about himself. Even after hearing 'I miss Jimin' from her, he couldn't help but to admire her. He was examining her back and his thoughts went overhead. He groaned and walked towards the refrigerator. His eyes glistened when he realized that this refrigerator is full of fluids and foods.

"I must say, you're fricking organized. Did you make those popsicles and juices? You're using washable plastic glasses,"

She laughed and uttered, "what can I do? I have to save the earth,"

It was almost 3 in the afternoon when she went to the living room and brought the pancakes. She took the empty bowls and trays and dropped them on the sink and started washing.

She was eager to go to upstairs and sneaked to their library, Mark's library. Although most of the books there were about laws, business ethics and educational resources, she made sure she stocked novels and other outstanding books.

"you make the most delicious pancakes in the world" he moaned out of delight while eating the incredible pancakes. She laughed and took some and went upstairs.

"where are you going? I'm all alone here,"

She raised her eyebrow. She wanted to say, "is that my problem?" but she knew better, "I'm going to Mark's mini library,"

He thought for a while before he carried the plate and walked ahead of her. She gasped and moved him aside, "excuse me mister, I know the way,"

He scanned the shelves and tried to find a book that's interesting. He was not a fan of reading but he has couple of books in his room.

"can you suggest a book to read?" he asked while looking at the educational books in front of him. He was, for sure, not going to read medical books.

She chuckled and gave it a thought. "I've read Me Before You and After You by Jojo Moyes. I literally put their genre on each shelves. Find anything that you like. There's romance, adventure, comedy, horror, crime and anything else," she said while grabbing her latest collection, Tracy Madison's books.

Her gaze was intense while she was debating on what to read first. Finally, she decided to read A Taste of Magic first. She sat down on the arm chair that looked like a bookshelf chair. Of course, this was the chair from her father and she truly treasured it.

Time passed by and it was already 6 in the evening. The sky had gone darker and the air was getting colder. She stood up and closed the windows and the curtains. She looked at Jungkook who was peacefully sleeping on the chair. After he finished reading one book, he had no energy to read another one.

He secretly took a book and covered his face and then off to sleep. It was pretty much obvious but she did nothing about it. She wouldn't force people to read books with her. As a matter of fact, she loved reading alone.

She decided to wake him up since it was late already. "Jungkook? It's already late," she softly said. Surprisingly, he woke up and looked at her in the eyes before blinking.

"what time is it?" he breathed out as he placed the books back to the shelves. She rubbed his eyes and yawned.

She chuckled and opened the door, waiting for him to go out. She switched off the light and closed the door behind her before she could answer him." It's already 6 in the evening. I can make a quick dinner. Mark will be back after an hour or so,"

She walked down the aisle and to the stairs, straight to the kitchen. Jungkook sat down on the chair beside the kitchen table and waited for her.

"is vegetable chicken salad fine for you?"

He nodded and said, "I'll eat whatever meal you cook," he wasn't the type of person to reject foods. He wasn't a picky eater. He was taught by his mom to accept the food served in front of him and finish the food on his plate, just like a good child.

After her father's tragic death, she distance herself from everyone, including her mom. She wasn't fully prepared for moving on from the event and now, her mother found another man who'll fulfill her after him.

Jungkook, a player, stone-hearted faced the same event. His mom died when he was little, leaving him and his six other brothers with their dad. He then knew that his father found another woman and would like to marry her which he was so furious about.

What they didn't know was their world was just connected.

"I told you to marry that man!" her mom shouted at her, stomping her left foot.

"why would I? This wasn't part of the deal! I let you marry that old man and even let him take the role of my dad yet now, you would force me to marry someone who I don't have feelings with? I can't believe you" she yelled back. She ran away from her mom and went back to her house.

"Jungkook, get ready, you're meeting your future wife" his dad said, holding his wife's hand. 

"I don't even like Lisa, let alone be paired with her forever" he hissed and walked out.

5 years later. 

"c'mon you're meeting your sister. She had arrived thirty minutes ago and is probably waiting for us, together with her husband." his mom told them while taking her bag and fixed her clothes.

She held her tears and looked at the night sky and said, "Jungkook, we can't. As much as I wanted to be with you, we're both married to someone who we don't give a shit."

He took her hands and let her face him and said, "that's my point. If we love each other, then we'll fight for each other, for our love", to her. He kissed her hands and they shared a passionate kiss.

"if only I knew that this will happen, then I wouldn't have to do that. Shit, Lei, you make me crazy"he kneeled down, holding her bruised hand. 

"shit happens, kook" she laughed.

"we're divorced". They both said at the same time. She jumped on him and he twirled her, tightly holding her waist. 

"does that mean, we have a chance?" he asked her, lost in her galaxy eyes. 

"we do have a chance, we just didn't know how to find that chance" she smiled while pecking his lips. 

"if only I met you before your mom met my dad, then we would have kids by now"

"Someone once lived here before?"
The sighting of the cabin produced a low hum as he entered the space. The rustic scenery produced by the fluorescent light from the moss and the underground stream nearby allowed quick access to water for drinking and to help the plants. A small bamboo shoot was used to transfer water using a measuring rod that would come everyday to keep the plants in top conditions even without the sunlight. The cabin laid far behind with no lights, the aged wood made it look like a hermit who lives in the mountains vibe as he continued on.
The wood was bruised and pale as it was aged and the door was left intact with multiple layers of dust caked the door.
He examined the plants in front of the cabin, with the one closest to himself. It was a strange flower, with two leaves that were blue with a red trimming of crimson red. The flower itself had no opposing nature at all and even released a fragrance similar of that of maple and driftwood.
Colored in pale white was the bud with multiple jagged petals, it was a true oddity.
"What are these?"
In fear of touching any poisonous items, he left it and continued his path through the other flowers.
The next had a distinct cold bloody aura that would sent shivers down his spine. The actual flower was shaped as a heart, and he could feel it pulsate along with the aura.
Three of them were the most noticeable and the last was just a vase filled with green liquid.
A small sound of a mechanism clicked and water began pouring down the bamboo shoots, but soon after touching the liquid in the urn, it became viscous.
Botany knowledge isn't very superb compared to other subjects that they have advanced in the Soul Realm. Many consequences can be taken without doing certain methods and procedures to treat and cure the plants of any side effects of consumption. most plants would still give strong affects that they would die to the surplus of power and hidden effects.
Though the distinct plants were interesting, what came first was definitely the cabin.
He brandished his sword from the cheap sheath made from simple dry leather from a cow animal in the Soul Realm. The moss' light reflect the purple hue once more as he walked towards the cabin.
He arrived with the doors, seeing even more details when he looked from afar, strong bolded hieroglyphs appeared to him. Unknown to its meaning, he gritted his teeth and braced himself.
He opened the door quickly and jumped back. the creak of the door showed that it was not maintained for several years.
The door opened fully but no sound could be heard or any jump scare to be afraid of.
He released the stress and came inside. A welcoming feeling arrived with a simple stone interior. A small shelf carved out of the rock was present on the left and a work bench filled with numerous equipment was spread throughout. But aside from that, the not-so simple thing was that a skeleton was sat near the work bench, clearly clenching an object of some sort.
Multiple glass vile were numbered throughout and once he began inspecting the skeletal remains, he found the object to be a book.
'Sorry, I will definitely return the book along your remains when i properly bury you.'
If he ever wanted to know anything about this strange mini world in the center of a mountain, it would definitely be contained here.
The words on the book appeared to be a cryptic language. Feeling relieved and disappointed, he was about to return the book but a strong energy entered his body from the book, unable to release his hands. The letters of the book began merging and changing as he looked further. The power behind the journal by the dead man couldn't be explained by modern thoughts, not even translating chips could change words to any language at the spot.
After a few minutes, he was able to feel his body, becoming quite cramped up at the moment. The words were fully translated and he began reading the first and only paragraph on the first page.
"Hello human, if you're reading this, I must be dead. A tradition of my sect is always to pass on our knowledge to the young when we go to sleep eternally. Alas, I have not, so I hope my words of knowledge will go through"
He flipped through the next page and continued on.
"I am a humble cultivator belonging to the Ascended Spirit Realm of the Devil Sect. Our realm was called the True Immortal Myriad Realm and are split in three. The Righteous Sect, The Mountain Temple, and last but not least, my Devil Sect. Do not get me wrong, our Devil Sect is in no way evil, just that our pursuit of strength and ideology was different."
"Though I am merely an Ascended Spirit Realm, my only focus in the sect was to become a Apothecary Master, and I've became a genius of the apothecary sub-sect of the Devil Sect. Me any my peers were researching divine ingredients before we found the Ascension Root. The only divine ingredient in the entire realm. I researched every possibility, using simulations to practice, and I was finally able to find one in just ten years. And that was, reincarnation, the use of the root could alleviate the soul of the mortal flesh and come in contact with a way stronger realm where divine ingredients are all around and many ingredients as well."
"I am one who used it for myself to ascend to the new realm, to which I've been transported, the Ascension Root gave me the proper vessel to pass through, a vessel of merely flesh and bone. To which I was fine with, If I could train in the new realm, I would definitely be able to achieve much higher powers. But I was wrong."
"The vessel's body was too weak to cultivate my Devil Sect's cultivation technique to which would rattle my bones and churn my insides. My first attempt and I was now handicapped beyond natural recovery. I had to use my apothecary knowledge to somehow survive but the string of misfortunes hitting me continued on."
"There was no necessary metals to use for my refining pot. And just like that, I lived in a mortal's flesh and survived using any tactics disdainful to man, but since you're reading this, you must know I've failed."
The journal continued and read on his journey from his realm and how he was praised for his achievements. But a huge disparity in the journal was his times in the Soul Realm and his time in his home realm. He had a huge hatred and desperate entries of his times living here.
"On the shelf nearby is all the books I managed to remember from my time, one should be the Devil's Cultivation Method and the rest should just be my apothecary knowledge. Though if I could ask you to do me a favor and bury my remains, the moment you opened the book, I've sent the remaining power of my cultivation foundation Qi for you to read my book. My body will be turned to ashes and the book will as well."
"...this is my final entry, I hope my words were useful to nurture the young, and hope for the prosperity of the Devil Sect in this realm. Happy Travels. From your dead pal.
Fan Tong."
The moment he reached the last page, the book released heat and burned alongside the corpse.
"I will properly bury your ashes..."
He felt he gained new insight from the readings and a new power from the release of the energy.
The feeling of the aura disappeared and he was finally able to relax his body from the powerful force.
But that relaxation soon stressed itself and he began sprinting out.
"Later!"
"The aura that came out of the cave is now gone! I have to head back, the cobra might come back!"
The Qi from his remains masked the aura of his corpse to appear as a strong monster, now that it was gone, the territorial protection a monster's territory gave was all gone.
He used his soul energy to rush back, which would usually need a day of rest to reach full capacity once more. But the soul energy consumption seemed to be way less and it was recovering at rapid rate compared to a normal warrior.
He did not fret over the small detail, which wasn't really small, but the urgency of the situation was strong.
Everything in his mind was blurred, but his sole focus and intent was fully being focused on was saving his senior friends.
Using his Lightweight technique, he moved as quick as possible.

The Galaxy is only a small drop amongst the vast universe with many undiscovered oddities that can not be described. Humanity has accomplished many achievements to further their understanding of the universe though miniscule. But what lays beyond those of our knowledge is just the frontier of all things. Follow the journey of a young man with a mystified past as he ventures into the frontier as many others had as well.

"Back then, I didn't know when I was happily distracted and childishly dancing around, dad actually filmed everything." She chuckled remembering this.

At breakfast the next morning, Hue asked her if she wanted to debut as a singer and/or song writer. Startled by the out of topic question she silently contemplated then half joking and half serious said yes.

Little did she know, her half hearted answer led to her becoming an international star today. 
"Good thing that time, I hadn't worn my glasses and usual clothes or my friend's would surely recognized me then." She said to herself in relief.

After finding a big enough overgrown root to sit down, she place her mini recorder which also functions as a sound box and played the newest song she created entitled "I hope" This was the song she wrote to surprise Sae filled with all her longing and anticipation. 

She signed depressingly stopping herself from crying yet again remembering what happen a few hours ago. She placed her bag on her other side near the tree overgrown root. She started reading the book with the help of the moon's light while humming and eventually singing her new song.
The more she read the content of the book the more the emotions she poured on her singing intensified. She finally closed the book, ignoring the rustling and whispering voices from a nearby bush. The sky was starting to get cloudy hiding the moon and stars from sight.

She was staring at the field of flowers as she sang in melancholy not minding that her voice was becoming hoarse. After a few minutes she stood up taken off her eyeglasses and the tie on her messy bun then placed it on top of her bag. She had temporarily stopped singing however the melody continued playing.

A drizzle started pouring, she was consumed in pain and dread, the melody was reaching its chorus.
She started singing again, rather than singing it was more of her shouting now making her voice hoarser. Despite the pain she was feeling on her throat she ignored it and continued her singing-shouting.

Her voice was more powerful and emotional. She looked up at the sky which showered her with its 'tears'. 

As the song reached its end by the sound of the melody, she turned around face the peeping tom's hiding place.

She actually found them immediately because that was the exact same place Hue hid when he captured her singing and playing around.

She could vaguely see a familiar silhouette beside him but was too distracted by the pain in her heart and now her head started throbbing again to really think who the person was.

 "I'm sorry" mostly to Hue, moving her lips without using her voice as her eyes slowly turned into midnight black. Her pupils, cornea and even her eye lens within had turned completely the same shed. She then fainted sparkling the water left by the rain around her and dirtying her dress with mud and dead leaves.

After experience a broken heart and a series of unfortunate events, Reen had remembered everything.  While all this were happening, he came into her life.  Should she forgive and forget everything and live the life she always wanted or should she stay and fulfill her need to be free from her past’s dark constraints? 

Need or want which should she choose...?

I was made to apologize but I refused to do so because I did nothing wrong. Screw her, I have nothing to apologize for and I am not bowing my head to someone else who is weaker than myself. 

= "I will not lower my head to someone who is in the wrong. Such a foolish act is something should only be done by buffoons who have no spine." =

I refused to apologize and Solstice insisted on making me apologize, we were now stuck in a loop that will not be resolved until one of us bends. The person who will bend over will not be me. 

Solstice was angered by my actions and punished me by staying in the orphanage's library where the books and knowledge book was kept. I was ecstatic by this punishment.

Solstice wanted to have the three boys I punished follow me in the library, I think she is hoping to see if we can work things out. I think that would be an impossible task. Or something on that line. 

= "You boys will be spending the night together in the library and reflect on what you did. Try to escape and you will get no breakfast." =

I was led in a library and the three boys followed me. Solstice asked us to get along before leaving us alone. I threatened the three to not make a ruckus else I will make them shut their mouths. 

Someone shouted back and asked me threateningly, = "Or what? You dirty half-breed!" =

I punched him and knocked him out cold, but he dared cold me dirt and I added a kick on the abdomen. 

He resembled a cooked prawn after that and the other two dragged the other one's body away in fear of receiving my fist. 

It was on the day that I learned of what a library is that I found something that truly interested me. 

Although there were things I have already learned in both the hospital and through the World Cube. 

I began to read anyway, the books I read consists of stories about people who called themselves as [Seekers]. 

Seekers were people who gathered in a place called a [Seeker Union] or [Seeker Guild]. 

Many famous Seekers had their stories written on books, it was enjoyable to read and imaging their adventures.

People who called themselves mages interested me even more.

Beings who can control the four fundamental elements of the world to cast a spell and inflict injuries to their enemies with space in between them.

The complicated and elegant way of using one's mind to plan ahead before using a spell. The delicate way of implementing spells in different situations.

It was wondrous and I was drawn to these stories, and before long, the night became day and I had to do my task before continuing my reading session. 

After learning of storybooks, I yearned for them more and more. 

And with dozens of books and not one child wanting to read them, I found myself reading a book all by myself, only moving away when I need to eat, take a bath, poop, piss, and do finish my tasks. 

I will also be forced to go to my room and sleep at night which displeased me. 

I wanted to read these storybooks, the orphanage had what you call a light bulb that could light up a whole room.

Back when I used to live with Von, the only light we had was a lamp so it made it hard for me to read. But with the bright and wondrous light bulb, I could read like it was daytime.

But because of my curfew, it was almost impossible for me to read at night as much as I would want. So, I device a plan that could let me read as much as I wanted. 

That plan was simple, I beat up the three boys and I would be sent to the library to reflect. I nodded my head and implemented the plan and beat the three boys for two days straight and gained access to the library at night by using this method. 

But after I beat the three boys a third time, the plan did not work and I was busted. 

I gained no entry to the library that night and the boys were beaten up by me for nothing. What could have they done to suffer such injustice? 

For their sacrifice to be in vain, it was such a sad sight. 

But Solstice did have enough of me acting like so and she learned of my intentions. So, she gave me the right to enter the library whenever I wanted to. 

But not that night because that night, I was punished to go to sleep early and forget about books. 

Coming back to the present time. I now gain access to the library and I now finish every storybook inside the library. I moved into reading books about spells and mages rather than stories about them.

Now, I want to become a mage myself. So, I opened a book about mages and read through the fundamentals of becoming a mage. 

In the seventh month of the year 982 N.E, a full year after I arrived in the orphanage, I finished all the books yet gained useless information about mages. 

In the past year I spent in the Shining Sun Orphanage, I became recluse and my distance towards the other children increased. Which was both a shame and something good?

It was a shame because I think I finally downed my smile and my attitude towards socialization. And good because I could focus on my study of magic and spells. 

But even after a year of researching and trying different methods. I failed to make a connection with any of the four elements, [Fire], [Water], [Wind], and [Earth].

It was tough for me to make a connection with them because of something peculiar. 

A child that awakens as a mage will already make a connection with an element once they create their Mana Core. The instant a Mana Core was created, they will automatically be connected to the element they have the highest affinity.

It is at this time where one of the more old ways of measuring one's talents comes to light. 

Any child that awakens will connect to at least one of the four fundamental elements, but because I already have a Mana Core when I awaken, it seems like I am a rare case. 

I had not said anything about having mana to Solstice, I do not want to attract attention to myself. I had learned many things on stories I have read and many of their stupid mistakes was showing off when they had no strength or backing to protect themselves. 

Bottom line is, I am in a tough position where I have to figure out a way how I can make a connection.

A month passed and I am still left with no solution, at this point of time, a young man came into the orphanage. 

The young man had black hair opposite of my white hair. He had black eyes when I have red, I am comparing his features to mine because I fail to distinguish what is a handsome and a beautiful face to what is not.

They say I am handsome, so my basis was my own face. 

Going back, the young man that came in was seven years old and is weird as he chose to be alone and was somewhat similar to me other than the fact he has no ability to do any chores. 
But he was oddly more likable and had many children flock around him. 

In the first three months, I ignored his existence and focused on my own things. But as time went on, and a month passed, other children became jealous of the attention the child was getting and he was harassed and ignored by other boys. 

At some point, I managed to witness five people surrounding him. 

They were ganging up on him and I found it entertaining that someone was getting hurt so I stayed and watched to see what would happen. 

Everything was happening on the back of the library and I was watching in a barely noticeable window. 

The five boys pushed him around and after one bad push and the boy fell down. 

He finally had enough and stood his ground. He fought back, but not with his fist. Instead, he held a red pendant that was dangling over his neck. A red flash of light escaped his body. 

The boy opened his mouth and uttered, = "Igni!" =

A small ball of flames flew out of his hands and hit a nearby rock, a mini-explosion occurred. 

Boom.

It did not heat any of the boys, but it scared the living out of them and they fell onto their asses. 

The boy who cast the spell looked down upon them and I heart him said coldly, = "Mess with me and that will land on any of you five." =

I was clueless about the ways of the world, but I can supplement that with my ardent desire for knowledge.

I was powerless, but I now wield powers no mortal can hope to comprehend.

I was kind, but I learned ruthlessness is the only way to live in a world that wants my head. 

Generals, Kings, Emperors, and Gods are just some being who gained recognition but all of them like everyone else.

I am a being no one wanted to exist, I am a scourge, but I will rise and be revered by all.

And if they do not bend their knees? Their fates will be sealed underneath my feet.  

Kneel before the one who treads the Monstrous Path.

Tanaka having remembered that alcohol could be used as a disinfectant, something he had learned on TV shows about doctors, he decided to apply the sky vodka filled can on his wounds. He took the paper towels on the cutlery section of the store, poured alcohol on them and applied the papers on his bruises. The sting of alcohol was new to him and made the whole process troublesome as he wiped the sores. The last thing Tanaka wanted was getting an infection, something that had often scared him ever sense he was at Parinyenatwa hospital. The country had quite a few amazing hospitals, but in his experience, Parinyenatwa had earned the title of death hospital. Other hospitals such as Saint Anne's, West End and so forth, were to him, decent alternatives. Family members he knew who had gone there had always died, being unable to be saved by the medical staff there. In addition, the number of gaunt people waiting in line to be treated was always disturbing. The fear of getting sick made him a hygiene freak, even overshadowing his bum life persona. After applying the alcohol, Tanaka got a hold of a stack of magazines. He decided to pass the time by reading the content of the old world; binge reading through people magazine, men's fitness, Glamour and FHM. The stories of celebrities, particularly the Kardashans, and other teen star dramas in Hollywood revolted him. He skipped those sections and read on about movie releases, real life stories, fitness advice, and random articles. Tanaka was a border line close to average Joe guy, had an interest in reading books, but only books that were given to him. He wasn't the type to search or look for them passionately, but had no problem digesting the content. In the end, it was all entertainment to him. 2hours had passed as he munched through a packet of lays, browsing the content in hand. The sounds outside were still faint, almost as if they were a kilometre away from where he was. He could not hear any crawling obscenities and was happy that he was not being taunted by anything yet. The torch was mounted on top of a bread holder shelf to direct the light directly at the book. Due to its intensity, Tanaka had to place it on the shelf so that he could read properly without being blinded by the light. The women's section talked about women's periods, desires, sex stories, and so forth. The hygiene stories were gross. The stuff that women liked and their daily biological problems made them seem more human and less superficial as how some portrayed themselves in their vanity. Tanaka's comfort and reading began to make him dose off. His body was now giving in to a state of comfort and security, a dangerous complacency that was not needed in a world of darkness and despair. This was showing as he was losing his mobility, suddenly closing his eyes and dosing off. In that moment a deformed creature which had been moving in the infinite void passed by the mini supermarket. It noticed the broken glass door and saw the light. It began to sniff, smelling Tanaka's blood and natural musk. It sneaked into the store, slithering and making unusual movements as it approached the boy. The light was on the shelf and he had knocked out. The creature was planning on getting rid of the shelf and devouring the young lad. It drew nearer and nearer to its meal, going all ecstatic over the idea of relishing his flesh like early morning road kill. The boy's body was in full view and what this creature intended to do to Tanaka was something nasty. It wanted to violate him before eating him. Sowing its seed and reaping what it had sowed was its fetish. It stretched out its serrated claw like tentacles to nudge the shelf that had the torch. The small nudges which seemed like effortless exuded energy was actually moving the shelf. The first nudge made Tanaka's body fall sideways. He was still asleep, but the kind of dosing he was in was a deep lucid state that only came when someone was deprived of sleep for far too long. Tanaka had knocked out and he was at the mercy of this thing. The creature began to grin, drooling in the dark, waiting to ravish its meal. It nudged the shelf again and again, making the torch light become farther away from him. Its victory was moments away and the more it pushed the shelf the more Tanaka became reachable. One push and it would be all over. The monster mustered its final nudge, preparing to finally end Tanaka's life in a flash, but then suddenly his watch's morning alarm which had always rang to wake him up for school began to cry. The sudden noise woke Tanaka up and immediately made him rise. Upon this happening, the creature hammered all its might into the shelf, knocking it far from Tanaka's reach. Tanaka instantly reacted seeing the darkness quickly engulf his field of vision. The torch and the furniture holding it had flown ahead, leaving him stranded in the pitch black. Tanaka heard a crash and destruction of wood, which give him great distress. All that crossed his mind was whether the torch had been destroyed or not. He then sprinted forwards, chasing the white dot he could see in his now darkness engrossed field of vision, but what prompted him to run faster was the sound of a diabolical depravity pursuing him from behind, gnashing its teeth as it lusted for his flesh. Tanaka was going to die; this was going to be the end of the young man's life.

 

 

Tanaka ran in the dark, blind as a mole, but without any excellent hearing to compensate for his disadvantage. His feet bumped into a lot of things, things that grazed his legs, but did not slow down his determination. The creature behind him was breathing heavily like an asthma attack victim, shrilling its voice in the formless night. Tanaka dived into the debris, getting stabbed by a piece of wood, which lodged onto his left forearm, causing him to ooze lots of blood. His right hand's fingers struggled through the debris of what was left of the shelf and managed to get hold of his torch. Upon getting hold of it, he quickly turned to face the bizarre monstrosity on top of him. He pointed the torch directly at it and took in the very thing that accentuated ugliness with his eyes. The abomination had erected its corrosive, anvil like, frothing phallus to violate him. Its tip and shaft were like a bleeding drill, dripping pus and tiny bloody miniscule foetuses that were speaking an unknown language, something similar to how candle wax melted upon contact with a flame. Its abdomen was that of an amphibian with pimple like mumps, the ones you would find on an ebola victim. Its head was that of an encapsulated ball of putrid flesh, straight out of the frying pan of hell. It was a despicable entity that scared the shit out of Tanaka. It even had the audacity to wiggle its abscess like mouth to utter its intentions.

 

"CHILD LET ME FUCK YOU!!!!"

 

Tanaka screamed out loud, devoured by fear, which had regurgitated his body, restoring him back to the reality that had crippled his mind. The creature, which was on top of him suddenly exploded. It turned into liquid ash and ended up spoiling his entire body. Tanaka cried and panted at the fact that the creature had died, but he had no time to celebrate, the death of this being had attracted a lot of its friends. The horde of demons and unintelligent voices began to shatter the air waves. Tanaka who was stricken in fear also remembered the pain of his left forearm. He rose up from his position and ran towards the cutlery section. Seeing his own blood was scaring him and the fear of bleeding to death was dawning on him. He took the table cloth, plucked out the wood lodged in his left forearm and began to scream. The pain was excruciating indeed, it felt like the pain of a groin being repeatedly shot at by a nail gun. Tanaka removed the wood and felt the warmth of his own blood trickle down his fingers and torch. He applied the paper towel and opened the fridge to grab more vodka. He poured loads of it onto his wound and then wrapped a dish towel onto his wound. The pain made him cry, but what made him evoke more tears was the realisation that there was something inside the ceiling. The very thought of what was coming gave him hyper tension. It was now time to abandon ship and Tanaka did not waste time. His exhaustion was overpowered by his will to live, making him jump out via the glass door he had broken. He sprinted aimlessly, using his torch to direct him in the darkness. Every area he pointed at reviewed disturbing imagery of unspeakable proportions. Tanaka ended up turning right; passing the travel plaza mini-mall that was adjacent to the mini supermarket that he came from. In his sudden burst of speed, Tanaka only had one thing in mind, to survive. He ran and ran until he took a regretful step. Tanaka who was in the heat of the moment had not directed his torch to the ground soon enough to save himself from the impending doom. He simply ran blindly into a pit, which had many horrors lying before him. Tanaka tumbled down an inclined heap of bloody and mutilated corpses, all stacked up to portray a twisted version of the human stair case. Regardless of his fall, he held his torch tightly, but fortunately, the bruises he got from the tumble didn't give him much pain. He quickly picked himself up and assessed the situation. What he realised was that he was in a valley like field of dead bodies, all mutilated and pruned like crushed hazel nuts. At the centre of this pit were demons dragging and mounting the dead bodies in a pile, like a coliseum of corpses all viewing the young Tanaka in distress. The creatures doing their gathering job soon took notice of Tanaka and began to draw near him. The fiends all crawled and marched slowly, closing in on the child and destroying all form of hope in him. Tanaka stood there, baffled in utter stupefication. This was the end, it was a good ride, or rather a nightmare, but he had tried his best to survive. The acceptance of death had flooded Tanaka's mind, an inundation of surrender and loss of will power, but somehow his fear surprisingly turned into rage, a hatred of what was giving him fear. Driven mad, the boy could no longer handle his despair anymore. He picked up a femur on the ground that still had its tendons and began to glance at his surrounding adversaries. They were all uglier than their next of kin. Tanaka glared like a mad dog, waving the bone violently as if he was intending to kill one of them. The world had gone to shit, but he was not going to go down without swinging.

"Come at me you bastards! Come you bastards! Come on, come!!!"

Tanaka Manyika was a Zimbabwean form 4 student in his 2nd term of study, and  like every other kid his age, he wanted to pass his end of year exams and move on with his life. However on one particular night his parents and his sister were brutally murdered by two strange men. This was only the beginning to a horrific nightmare; the coming of the apocalypse of infinite darkness was upon him. In that despondent world where everyone in the dark is subjected to despicable mutilation by the creatures of the unknown, Tanaka only has a torch as his arsenal, the only tangible form of light in a world consumed by darkness. Can he survive the end of the world and be the haven of others in despair or will he eventually fall prey to the hopelessness of the world?

" Is this what you wanted?" said Alice. her head lowered no one knew what was going through her. she asked Alice as soon as they got back to yi ying's courtyard. 
Yi ying also was dismayed about the situation she shook her head and replied. " I never wanted to involve you " she said genuinely. This situation was completely unexpected. 

" Do you think it's a joke my life is bound by yours. " Alice erupted. She had a raging expression. 
" I really didn't intend too " replied yi ying. This was the first time she saw this expression on her. She looked completely different from her usual self. 
" Don't give me the innocent crap anymore. if you don't tell me I will tell everything to Lord Ji that you are planning something with the young miss," said Alice. her blue eyes were throwing daggers at her. 
" You " Yi ying never thought this little sister could be so ruthless. she moved two steps backward. But Alice didn't give her any chance she moved close and punched her face. 
yi ying was sent flying. Before Alice could do anything. she felt a tearing pain in her chest. 
" ahhhh " Alice gave out a muffled scream. while yi ying crashed into the wall. she was lightly injured blood was oozing out of her lips

while Alice was struggling on the ground due to the effect of the slave contract. " Even though I have been reduced to this state I would never serve a beast like you even I have die. ".    Alice smiled cruelly. she was a cultivator she would never lower herself to serve a beastkin. Alice lifted herself up she knew yi ying would kill her now. 
" cough cough I really didn't want to involve you with me everything happened too fast. " came yi ying voice in Alice's ears. 
Alice thought she would die at any moment. but that moment never came. " Don't tell me all this crap just kill me I would never " Alice wanted to say something but her words got stuck in her throat. In front of her was standing a woman whose beauty seemed unrivaled. her face was a little pale while there was the concerned expression on her face. 
" who the hell are you," said Alice. The woman in front of her suddenly stopped in her tracks. 
she put hands on her face and looked around. she was in a very panicked state.

Bai jie was moving around here and there in the village remembering the ways and roads. He came across many people on the way. 
There were many houses but mostly built of wood. he saw many types of livestock and animals which were completely different for example there was a chicken but with only one big eye like a cyclops and many carriages with horses like animals tied to them with six legs and much bigger than regular horses he had seen back on earth. 
" This world is beautiful hee-hee" mumbled bai jie. he was looking from a corner of a street. he had found a great place also known as a heaven for men. 
" No no bai jie an upright man like you shouldn't go to these places you have a beautiful wife.," mumbled a mini bai jie on his right shoulder a holy light was emitting from it while on the other side was dark red mini bai jie with a lecherous smile on his face. bai jie had been standing in this street corner for more than half an hour fighting the battle of his so-called inner demons. 
" Bai jie why to feel so scared let's go in she won't even know " said the dark red mini bai jie. 
While bai jie was skimming the village he also noticed a peculiar thing. There was a very low number of males in comparison to females. 
But he didn't understand the reason for it. So bai jie had been eating those truth pills he got from the Lin guy. after popping 5- 6 pills he could see those little versions of himself. he was laughing here and there like an idiot. 
" Hey what the hell are you doing here are you going in or not " suddenly bai jie heard a voice behind him it startled him. Even because of the pills he didn't feel any fear but it was an instinctual reaction because it was a woman's voice. he jumped backward he jumped up on the house with a backflip while sweat was raining from his forehead. 
The woman who scolded bai jie also felt scared by his reaction she almost felt she was going to die any moment she fell on her rear on the ground. 
Bai jie looked at the woman she wore a red-colored dress which was very attractive. he was standing on the house. 
" Sister I am really sorry I didn't see anything " while covering his eyes. The woman suddenly noticed that her dress was torn. she screamed. 
" You pervert I will make sure you suffer for this in hell I curse you" she covered the torn part with her hands. 
" hey what happend here " few more women came hearing sounds of the commotion. 
" Ahh it's the mistress of the heavenly pavilion. come. quickly pick her up " a girl wearing a purple dress came forward. she picked the lady in the red dress. 
" miss hee I am really sorry but why were you hehe standing behind me you scared me hehe" said bai jie hurriedly. He knew females were the most vengeful creatures in the world their curse also held a supernatural strength. 
" You bastard you laughing at me come down kneel down I might spare you," said the red-dressed woman. But before she could say anything Bai jie disappeared like wind there was no trace of him anymore. 
" Come here you bastard I will find you and make you suffer for this humiliation. " the woman roared at top of her lungs. 
" ahh, daughter what happend to you why are you shouting so much. " A middle-aged woman came down from the building of heavenly pavilion. the building was well but with three floors with beautiful decoration. 
" Mother capture the dammed fellow he was just standing on the house. " said the red-dressed lady. she looked to be a teenager. 
The middle-aged woman looked around the house she could see the footprints on the house. but they suddenly disappeared. it sent shiver down her back. she released her cultivation immediately scanning the surrounding with her senses but didn't find anything. which verified her doubts even more 
' It was a shadow ' a thought came into her mind. she knew secrets many people didn't only a qi gathering experts could escape from her with her 9th mortal stage cultivation. 

" No One was here it was just your imagination," said the middle-aged woman dismissing everything. 
" mother I saw this man really he was very weird I heard him talking to himself while he was looking at the females of our heavenly court he was laughing while he praising his own wife being more beautiful I thought it was very cute at first but as time passed he started blowing his own horn of how he is a Supreme evil lord I heard everything it was too disgusting " raged the woman in red dress. " I will find him and make him suffer. "
" Bing'er don't you dare defy me " roared the middle-aged woman.  she knew what kind of people these shadows were they can count as one of the most powerful organizations in the barbarian lands but they were the most fearsome. 
" Mother you " Han bing didn't understand why was her mother behaving like this. She had lived her whole life like a princess she could have anything she wanted as long she didn't cross the line but now her mother won't even let her capture a mortal for revenge. 
while the other girls were making guesses they also saw a young man standing up on the house. 
" I Han yu declare that anyone found talking about this incident will immediately be killed," said Han yu in a loud voice while releasing her cultivation. 
Everything went quiet no one willing to go against this lady. 
Han bing was looking at her mother with an odd expression she didn't say anything and went inside the building with her. 

" ahh what happend here," said the young man with two following him. it was the young master Xie that bai jie met with ling tian. 
" Ohh it's young master Xie so you still remember us " a woman voiced in coquettishly. This was regular so many women knew him. 
" of course I remember but I am here for miss bing today I brought many gifts for her.  but my subordinates here also need someone to accompany them. " replied young master Xie with a smile. 
 "yes yes sure. " few women grouped towards them. while they all went into heavenly pavilion.

Bai jie had run away as soon as he sensed the presence of a cultivator. he didn't want to create any trouble. he looked at his left shoulder and said " it was your fault you bastard. " 
while the little red bai jie had an innocent expression. ' what did I do if you'd have gone in we could have relished this night. I am you so you are also a bastard. '
Bai jie slapped his face many times until both of his mini versions disappeared. while he was running without any sense of direction. he reached a familiar place it was a book store he had seen when he came with Alice. 
He saw the old woman still reading books very peacefully. No one came to her shop it was empty while other shops had few customers.
Bai jie knew this type of person who would open a book store and read books because they love reading them. He also liked to read books of different kinds . Books were the best source of information.
