Hi guys, it's your author here. 

God, it's been long. I should have returned months ago,  but your author has been quarreling with the God of luck. Many things have happened to me, I have officially denounced small gods that dare to stand against me. I got better,  that's good. But someone in my family got ill, and the kind that sends the entire family running all over the place looking for cash and calling all the doctors they know type of illness. Just when I thought everything got stabilized, this author's laptop crashed and I could not repair it. For those who have been reading my other book, Lucy Wickshire, you know of this laptop issue. I have been posting there because with borrowing someone's laptop, you only have limited time and Lucy Wickshire has been winning so far. But,  I have been accumulating chapters for To Walk The Mist slowly so that we can get some regular start. So raise your hand and be amazed, we are back! 

But... and this is a big butt... Keke.. 
I have been trying to get webnovel to pick up my book. Why? when you are low on cash you consider all the things that could give you cash, but now that I think about it, this is not the right platform as, being a reader myself, we know webnovel can be a bitch. The coin rates are high and are making it harder for readers to follow their favourite works. 

So, this is a good thing, if you think about it. So,  I was looking into other platforms with better services for readers and this author alike, and got a contract with moboreader. 

So that is the but. The past week, I have been getting moboreader up to date with To Walk The mist chapters and will be done in a few days; give or take five days. So that is the but. 

I will not be posting my new chapters on webnovel, but on moboreader. So head on to moboreader and find To Walk The Mist in five or so days from this post. (Just in case there are those who don't know when this was posted, it's November 18th.) 

Am I worried readers will leave? Well,  you stayed this long, didn't you? At least go over and find out if the reading experience is better over there. They've also got an app so, you can read just as well as on webnovel. 

I am aiming to have my chapters longer as this book is classified xuanhuan there and my competitors are releasing large chapters. 

Thanks for waiting. I see your comments but i'm usually unable to do anything. I wanted to wait till I finish posting the chapters that are here on moboreader before saying anything about the return, but I saw the comments and got itchy. 

Ya, for those who go over there before the five day or so mark and see chapters that are free here, locked, don't go spoiling your authors show by telling people that they can read those locked chapters free here. This author is trying to make a few dollars an save up for a new laptop! 

Now that I think about it, I should probably not tell you about the return. But then again, I know some take a while to see updates from books that have been dropped for a while so,  giving five days to gather loyal readers is good. So please pity this author and let people there pay a few coins to read...

Elvie sat amidst her castle of books, occasional tendrils of ectoplasm subtracting and adding tomes to the pile.  Shadows wearing her shape and empowered by ectoplasm whispered news to her before scampering into the shadows.


A dark shape arose behind her, unseen by the princess.

Elvie snapped her finger, causing one of her shadows to detonate.  A dagger shot from the remains straight for her.  Her assailant just happened to be in the way.  The dark one stumbled back, cackling.


"Good my student," I congratulate her, "Your daggers are a resounding success!"


Bending at an impossible angle, I withdrew the blade from my back.  Letting it clatter to the floor, I face Elvie.


"I'm pleased with the progress you've made.  In two years you have grown powerful and skilled."


Shaking her head, she returned to her books, "It's not enough, I'm still not strong enough to drive out the occupiers on my own."


"Now, whoever said you had too?" I demand, "You have friends in dark places, or at least I do."


"And you're just telling me this now?!" she snarls, "My people are being executed to lure me out of hiding and you're pulling an army out of your ass?"


"You're so beautiful when you're angry," I snark.


She turns away with a huff to hide the red in her cheeks.  Twirling her hair, she mutters.


"Well, your just a jerk.  Teasing me like that."


"I am teasing you," I smile, "but that doesn't mean I'm lying.  I had to take my time.  you're not the only one who has been getting stronger.  The first of your army awaits, my princess."


Whipping around, she clenches her fists to the side.  Her foot stomps as she burns even hotter.


"Your Princess?" she demands, "And what makes me yours?  Teasing me and flirting is all you've done.  I don't even have a name for you."


I smile back, leaning forward I poke her nose.


"Boop," I chuckle, "so adorable."


Closing her eyes, she takes a breath.  Her hands unclench and she chuckles to herself.


"You are impossible.  But show me this army.  I wish to see what you've cooked up.  You always have a new surprise for me."

Descending into the bowels of the fortress, I lead her down forgotten pathways and hidden stairwells.  Down into the place were her Golems are created.  Were my bodies are built.
"As you know the golems of this place are not suited to do more then serve.  My delicate pieces can't hold up to the stresses of combat.  Even if that were untrue, I can neither power nor use the golems outside of this place.  And if you remove me from the crystal everything shuts down."

"I am well aware of our limitations, Asura mine," She scowled, "It's why so much relies on my power."

"Your Asura?" I return, "What makes me yours?  You only blush and turn away.  What gives you the right to name me?  Oh, Princess?"

Skipping ahead, I vanished into the assembly room, I evade Elvie among the twist and turns.

"To the main chamber, there my surprise awaits," I tease.

Squaring her shoulders, she straightens her dress.  Checking her boots for stones, the princess stalks forward.  Into the silent darkness she stalks, one of the shadows.  Coming to the Main Assembly Warehouse, she pauses.

"Your surprises are nothing more than frames?" She scolds, "And what pray tell are we to do with frames.  No animating force, No central crystal.  Nothing more then rune inscribed shells."

"Oh, Elvie." I tut, "As If I would ever disappoint.  They're simply missing their final component.  Something only you can give."

"My Ectoplasm," her mutter turning to a shout, "You idiot!  There is no way I could fill all of these.  I can generate nowhere near enough."
"Again Elvie, you underestimate me," I correct, "One would think you'd stop doing that.  I don't want you to generate the Ectoplasm, I want you to anchor what I shall put there."

A cold wind howled through the air, the room suddenly full of angry shadows.

"These are those that have died protecting you.  They are the angry ones that call for your vengeance.  Put but a little of your ectoplasm into each frame and they shall do the rest.'

Elvie smiles, extending her hands she calls forth her fog.  Pouring out of her eyes and mouth, she vomits it into the room.  Directing it among the frames, they devour the nourishment. 

"Go," She commands these unquiet undead, "Take this second chance at your vengeance.  Take this chance to serve your Princess and restore the rightful order of things."

Extending my own will, I communicate the Princess orders.  I chortle as the Spectres slip into the devices.  My will be done.

The mist continues to wrap around the frames as pale faces appear in each.  Unique only in their conformity to one another.  The first unit of Elvie's army begins to move.   Moving as puppets with no strings, they eventually calm themselves and kneel before my princess.  Now the Puppets willingly give their strings unto Elvie.

"These 20 are the first.  They are infiltrators and assassins par excellence.  They can take any humanoid form they wish.  Since they are no longer alive, they do not fear death.  Plus the malleable nature of the Ectoplasm bound to their frames mean they are never far from a weapon.  I call them Doppelgangers."

My lady's eyes glimmered in the shimmering light, her smile would make a shark jealous.  In this moment I knew why I stayed loyal to her.  Naive and Innocent did not mean good and stupid.  She would show that to the world.

Taking her eyes from her first allies, she inquired, "They are marvelous, simply wonderful.  Yet you have another surprise for me?  You spoil me too much Asura."

"Only the best for you, Highness."

A serpent's hiss echoed from her right.  Turning calmly, yet palming one of her daggers, Elvie faced this new surprise.  A cylinder full of misty green substance opened, pouring the foggy contents into the room.  A shadow stepped out the iron caps on his boots clacking on the floor.  Stepping into the light it revealed itself to be a man.  Emerald green eyes glitered from behind unruly brown locks, his frilled purple shirt strained against his broad chest.  Bowing to Elvie, he flourished long arms, ending in well-manicured hands.  His brown pants fitted well over his strong legs.

"We do good work," I snark, "Just as I wished to look."

"We do indeed," my body replied, "I am as we wished."


Both of us chuckled at Elvie's confusion, "This Princes Elvie is what will accompany you.  He is a Doppelganger, grown around a copy of my original memory crystal.  I used Ectoplasm gathered from your practice sessions and the frame is made of Sperro Spectrale.  I made him to suit your preferences, in all aspects.  Did I do well?"


Examinging the Golem, She paced around him.  Devouring his form with her eyes, she smiled.

"Indeed you did an excellent job," she approved, "But tell me does this one tease as much as all the others?"

"No," A voice spoke, hot against the back of her neck, "I take action."

Spinning Elvie around, I crowed in delight as my body kissed her lips.  I howled in approval as she returned his ardor.  Wrapping her arms around him, I felt her pull him to her.  Her tongue entering his mouth.  Moaning into each other, they completed their pact.  They belonged to each other now.  My will be done.

I didn't want to write this. I really didn't. I'm delighted that my loyal readers gave this book a chance anyway even though it's different from what other novels are like out there. But, I am going to cancel this novel or update slowly. I tried very hard to persist by writing more chapters. But I can't. I lost my direction and creative voice.

It's NOT the reader's fault. It's my own. I love and appreciate all the feedback and comments given. Readers are allowed to offer opinions and critiques. I praise those who do. It's very insightful and thoughtful. 

The reason why I chose to give up is for two reasons. I lost my direction, meaning that it's not coming out the way I initially wanted it. The reason why is because I felt that since my story is different, I took a risk, which all authors do. We take risks. 

But unfortunately, I changed and re-wrote this story twice because I tried to make it good. But I didn't follow my initial instinct because I was afraid of what people may think, which is my fault for overthinking in the first place. 

Now, for the second reason. I am comparing this book to my first one. Now, it's challenging to grasp attention as a novice writer with no experience. But my first book, "Daughters of the Elite," FAILED the first time. It flopped. Badly. I went in and re-wrote it. 

NOW, it has a million views, hundreds of comments, and dozens of reviews. I never thought it would reach that audience since it's not contracted. But it did, and I'm happy and thrilled! 

The second time I wrote it, I received collections and votes quickly. I struggled at first, but my audience multiplied, once the word spread. My synopsis grabbed people, and I didn't enter any competitions because I didn't like the fact that people had to pay spirit stones. UGH. The amount of money I spent on this app because of 1000+ chapter novels. 

I hated the spirit stone system, so when I began writing, I wanted my stories to be good and free, but the issues are none of my works are promoted for that reason. 

I didn't gain a cent writing DOTE, but it's OKAY. I write these books for fun, but in the end, I know when to stop if it's not doing well. This book is not doing well at all. Which, again, I am not hurt by it that much, because I have book three that keeps me going. 

Before publishing this book, I received many requests and comments about how people were excited about book two, and I feel like I failed you guys. It's mysterious for sure, with some intrigue. But it's not what people want. 

Book 3, however, is anticipated. Now, I already began writing the book, and there are no struggles with it so far in terms of plot writing. *Hopefully* but I should drop this one. I persisted with DOTE; I failed on this one. I'm sorry. 

This book is about love that is thought to be lost but regained over time. 

NOW! I might complete this novel!!! However, updates will be unpredictable. It could be once every few days, maybe once a week. I am focused on book three. 

I really do like writing this book. But again, not many people like the idea of this one, of course, as you readers being the wonderful exception.

'No way.' he typed a pin and the phone unlocked. 'No one would know the pin, one more thing to check.' 

Looking through his pictures he saw screenshots of conversations he had with many people, things he got rid of long ago and would shame him greatly, that's when he realized it's really his phone.

Corona: So it is all about your story and not about your characters! Is it?
Me: Definitely not! It is for my own character's safety. If they are not there then how can I even write? They are my first priority. And you when are you leaving? 
Corona: Really? Everyone is asking me to leave. You all are cruel.
Me: As if you are not! Get lost now! Do not come back here... I still need to write many more chapters and you are stopping me from doing that...
Corona: Aren't you guys who wanted me here on this show...
Me: No! That's not me! Now go away and never return...
Corona: Fine! I am going! But remember I will always keep an eye on you all. If I see you are not following safety precautions, then do not blame me if I attack you! That's my nature! 
Me: Fine! Fine! Now just leave... Crew, burn the chair which she sat on. Disinfect this whole space. Keep an eye on Jayden and monitor him continuously. We cannot let him fall sick now, at this crucial point. 
Someone from behind: What about you, author?
Me: Let us just hope that I am well for now. I am going to quarantine myself for the time being. But do not worry, readers, all the novel updates will happen every day continuously. 
Someone from behind: Author, no one reads your books. So do not worry...

A crew member: Author, that is the APP from "Deathly app"
Me: Escape everyone... I don't want to be tempted by this deathly app! I am already under depression, I don't want to handle another unnecessary headache.   
Deathly App: Author, I am here. when are you going to interview me? Can I bring slaughter, slayer, and Tegus?
Me: How about I interview Hastin and Akemi instead? I already did an imaginary interview with Corona just now, I would like to interview my characters instead of an unreal imaginative app.
Deathly App: Who are you saying unreal? Do you want to sign a contract with me? A million views with five thousand collections? 
Me: No! I am good! I am good! No thank you!

Just for fun... Totally nothing serious... No plot... No story...
Just a few funny interviews, involving my characters from all the stories... Please do take it lightly!!!

After they finished talking for what seemed to be 10 minutes Ronan went back to focusing on what the lecturer was talking about, this lecture was held by Mr John Thomas and he was talking about the accounting side of business administration, Ronan already had a skill in it but it wouldn't hurt him to listen for a while.

After the lecture ended Ronan picked up his the 3rd textbook put it inside of his bag and then walked back to the dorm room where he first looked at his stocks and finding nothing had changed from the morning prepared to complete his new textbook, unfortunately, he didn't set and arrangement for when it had to be handed in to Jake.

He sat down and looked at the subject for the textbook, it was plainly mathematics, some difficult and some easy but none too hard for him to solve, just the basic foundation for if you wanted to specialise in accounting.

It took Ronan around 90 minutes to complete this textbook, it wasn't that it was hard, just that the textbook consisted of 80% problem solving and 20% information compared to the other textbooks which are around 40-60% work and 60-40% information.

Ronan checked the time.

17:45

'What to do now? I could go back to designing my app but it's almost finished, I just need acquire some pictures for the home page and then integrate the encryption and its pretty much market-ready, I don't expect it to be perfect, just somewhat near the standards for other simple apps, probably have to fix some glitches as well if I get feedback.' Ronan was bored after he got the system he had some fun but now he was waiting to earn some money so he can finish his quest.

[Why don't you talk to Jake and ask him to spread the word about you completing course work in exchange for 5%? He will get some money while you don't have to sit around moping all day when you get bored.]

'You know, that's not a bad idea, the exchange rate is 5-1 I get $20 net worth per textbook, less if I give Jake 5% but still worth it and all I need is $400, so it's 20 books, most books taking me 20-40 minutes apart from mathematics the I could easily get it done in a couple of days along with completing my app if I ever feel tired of doing work, just as long as I don't promise the next day unless they pay extra.'

"Hey Jake, how many people do you know who were just like you?" asked Ronan

"Why do you ask?"

"Just looking for more ways to make money, I'll offer you 5% of the money I make from the people you recommend." Ronan attempted to persuade him.

"I can recommend you to them, but I don't need the money if I did I wouldn't be paying you to complete my course work." Replied Jake.

'More money for me' Ronan had a beaming smile on his face.

"Okay, next time we meet tell me if you found anyone and give me the required textbooks." Ronan responded before hanging up the phone.

Ronan takes a look at his calendar for the next lecture, '3 days, nothing to do with 3 days... I suppose I can tweek my app to make it near perfect.' 

After checking his calendar Ronan looks at the time again.

19:00

'Back to the app again, I'll try to get the encryption integrated into the app before going to sleep, actually it's fairly easy to integrate the encryption, all I have to do is make sure that both sides have an encryption and decryption key and that it is set so that only the people who are sending and receiving the messages to and from each other have the same key but each different conversating needs to have a different key and the encryption and decryption needs to be automatic instead of giving a prompt to type in the password for decryption.' Ronan described what he was trying to do while doing it.

After several hours he finishes the encryption integration and takes a look at the clock.

21:36

'Ahhh... I guess I'll go to sleep now, and find something new to do tomorrow.'

Ronan took a quick shower before going to sleep.

...

The next morning Ronan woke up late.

12:00

'I must have been really tired to wake up this late, shame I have nothing to do today...'

After getting up, he went to the bathroom and logged into his stock market account.

'Nothing happened again today... I guess I'll take my money out.'

Ronan proceeded to take his money out of his stocks and change them into different stocks, he made roughly $10 from his cyber stocks.

Instead of putting his money into more stocks he closed his account and went back to designing his app.

'When this is done, hopefully, maybe I can make more than $10 with this app.'

Ronan spent 105 minutes, finishing off his app and then spent the next 3 hours figuring out bugs.

'Now that this is mostly finished I should speak to some advertisers to see if they want to advertise on my app, but I'll probably just sign up to some ad management agency and give them a portion to manage all the advertisements, just finding a reputable ad management agency.'

Ronan spent 15 minutes looking up the local advertisement agencies, but the reviews online aren't really that helpful, most of them barely have 10-15 reviews and they aren't all that descriptive.

'I'll go down the list and see what I can get.'

"Hello, is this Riverwood advertisement management?" Ronan picked up his phone and called.

"Yes, what can I do for you?" The voice on the other side of the phone said. "How much do you take for an app?"

"15% for newcomers, 10% after 2 years." The voice replied. "Thanks, I'll get back in touch."

After calling several different companies he found that Riverwood Ad Agency was tied 1st for the best with Spring Advertisement agency, Spring advertisement agency cost 12% but didn't have the 10% after 2 years unlike the Riverwood, so Ronan spent some time thinking over it.

'I don't see my app making a lot in the short time so going with Riverwood wouldn't be so bad, whereas saving 3% now only to be losing an extra 2% in 2 years, but then again I might not have it for 2 years.'

After Ronan debated with himself for several minutes he decided to go with Riverwood Advertisement Agency.

Ronan Atkins is a 20-year-old student, he studies Business Administration at Trinity College, it is considered as one of the best colleges to learn Business Administration in the world and in order to obtain a scholarship Ronan had to pass many tests, most of which have nothing to do with the actual course he was studying in, after passing all those tests he was finally given the scholarship he dreamed off, but even after getting the scholarship his life was hard, he had to work several jobs in order to pay for food and accommodation.
Until one day, when he is working part-time at a convenience shop something happens...
