Hi. This is my list of wish fulfillment novels on this website. Originals only, fanfics included. If you are the type of guy who doesn't like overpowered, ultra handsome, flawless MCs who go around making gigantic harems, you can read this to know which novels to avoid.

Zhang Zian was busy the whole day and now it was almost time for him to go to bed. 
Zhang Zian had been exhausted throughout the day, but now that he knew the elves' lives could be extended, his tiredness vanished completely. However, he hadn't told the news to Old Time Tea or the other elves yet. As Pi had said, it wasn't the right time. If he hastily told the news to everyone, they would be too expectful. The reality might be too disappointing. For that reason, they might as well not know about it in the first place. 
Even if the lifetime of the elves really could be extended infinitely, the elves had to go through an extremely difficult process to do so. Judging from Pi's stern expression as it read the untitled book, Zhang Zian figured that this may be his biggest challenge and trial since he downloaded the Pet Hunter game.
Although he couldn't understand the untitled book, whether it was the Hyperwebster Dictionary, The Book of Sand, or a fantasy book from another civilization in the universe, he was still very grateful for it. Without it, he wouldn't have found out about such reassuring and hopeful news.
The elves had fallen asleep, one after the other. Before going to sleep, Richard had been very active that night, as if everything put him in a good mood. Zhang Zian had to hang it upside down to calm it down. 
When everyone was in bed, Pi was still sitting in front of the computer, typing away.
"Pi, did the noise bother you?" Zhang Zian came over and asked. He knew how annoying Richard and Snowy Lionet were.
Pi shook its head no.
"Well, we're all going to bed now. Please go to sleep as soon as you finish writing." Zhang Zian brought over a small desk lamp. The lamp light was turned away from the bedroom, so it wouldn't affect anyone's sleeping.
He didn't plan on telling Pi what he was doing later, because he wasn't sure whether he would be successful or not. He didn't want Pi to be disappointed after giving it so much hope. 
Pi grinned and nodded.
Zhang Zian glanced at the elves again. After confirming that each elfin was in its correct place, he turned off the ceiling light. 
With the light from the desk lamp and his own nightlight, he laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling, listening to Pi type. He thought about the elves' lives for a while, and then thought about the situation of Uncle Li's diner. He tried to allow all of his thoughts to occupy his mind and keep himself from falling asleep.
About an hour later he heard a click, and the fan noise from the laptop disappeared. Pi turned off the desk lamp and the room grew darker. It climbed into the basket hammock chair to go to sleep.
Zhang Zian kept his eyes open for a while, and almost fell asleep. He pinched his thighs to keep himself awake. 
He looked up and guessed that Pi had already fallen asleep. Then, he grabbed his cell phone by his pillow and opened the Qidian app.
That day, as he watched Pi write, he had secretly browsed the Internet on his cell phone, trying to find out what the amazing reading lists were.
After he finished researching, he knew that reading lists were an important supplement to the Official Recommendation Spots from the Qidian website. A reading list was created by an individual, who would list his or her favorite books and the reasons why they would recommended those books on their list. If other readers agreed with the owner's suggestions, they would start following the creator of the list. The reading list owners were similar to bloggers who reviewed digital products on video websites, and the digital products recommended by bloggers tended to receive more attention. Some reading list owners even had tens of thousands of followers. 
After careful searching, Zhang Zian discovered that the reading list owners were roughly divided into two categories. One type introduced and reviewed each book in great length, while the other kind of reading list owners introduced each book with only one sentence. The former type attracted much more followers than the latter. After all, through the detailed evaluations and introductions, the readers could tell that the reading list owners had put in a lot of work into every book. 
That day, he had mentally noted the reading list owners' IDs who wrote long book reviews and then went to the comment sections of their lists. He first ruled out the most popular reading list owners, because in their comment sections, numerous authors or authors who pretended to be readers were promoting their own books. Those reading list owners wouldn't be able to read all the books being recommended to them, even if they tried to read 24 hours a day.
As for the reading list owners that attracted fewer followers, their comment sections were basically empty. It wouldn't be helpful for Zhang Zian to advertise Pi's novel in those lists. 
After more research, he targeted a reading list owner who had the tenth most followers. The ID name of the reading list owner was Morning Gorilla Star, who was mentioned by the author of Diplomats of the Underworld. 
Morning Gorilla Star had written down his requirements about posting advertisements in his comment: Do not copy and paste your ads. I will promote urban novels that have no or only one female protagonist.
Zhang Zian felt relieved when he read these requirements. He was extremely popular with women, and many cute girls were desperately hoping to be his girlfriend. Pi had just hidden this fact while writing the novel based on the life in Zhang Zian's pet shop. Therefore, Pi's novel had managed to meet Morning Gorilla Star's requirements.
Advertising was like sending resumes to hiring managers. The key points of the novel must be written as concisely as possible. What was the highlight of Pi's novel? It certainly wasn't that the protagonist didn't have a girlfriend! 
He typed on his phone: Can I promote my own book? The title of the book is Pet King. The protagonist, who is the owner of a pet shop, downloads a game that can capture elves. Together with the elves, he witnesses the growth of the pet shop. There is no female protagonist in this book. 
He thought it over and added "Currently" in front of the sentence, "There is no female protagonist in this book." Then, he satisfyingly clicked the "Send" button.
After sending the message, Zhang Zian repeatedly refreshed the comment section and anxiously waited for a reply from the reading list owner, just like a job seeker who was constantly refreshing emails and nervously waiting for replies after sending out his resume. Zhang Zian had read the books recommended by Morning Gorilla Star, and all the books were well-written. Perhaps Morning Gorilla Star wouldn't think Pi's novel was good enough. However, Zhang Zian hoped that Morning Gorilla Star, who had read countless books, could at least tell him why Pi's novel failed to be recommended by him. In that case, Zhang Zian could help Pi revise the novel. Zhang Zian was acting like a job seeker who was close to starving to death and desperately needed a job, whatever the job was, to feed himself.
Since it was nearly one o'clock in the morning, the owner had probably gone to bed already. Watching his comment drowning in other comments from authors promoting their own books, Zhang Zian couldn't help but sigh in dismay.
Perhaps he sighed too loud, because Zhang Zian heard a squeaking sound come from the hammock chair. It sounded like Pi had turned over.
He locked his phone screen and waited a little longer. He didn't unlock his phone until there wasn't any more sounds coming from the chair.
What should he do?
He was very sleepy. Should he wait till the reading list owner woke up and try advertising again? 
No, he shouldn't wait. Tomorrow, Pi would receive its first Minor Recommendation Spot. If its novel failed to be ranked in the top three or top four spots, it might never have a chance to receive a recommendation again.
With that thought, he decided to advertise on another reading list. Advertising was just like begging, and as long as he could swallow his pride now, he would gradually become thick-skinned. 
This time, he lowered his expectations by moving his attention from the reading list owners with tens of thousands of followers to ones with hundreds of followers, hoping that some of them hadn't fallen asleep yet.
Zhang Zian noticed that there was one whose ID was Yang Chenkong. In his reading list, Yang Chenkong wrote reviews with thousands of words for each book and offered many thoughtful insights. However, Yang Chenkong only had a mere 3,000 followers. Would it really be useful to advertise in this list?
Zhang Zian desperately went to the comment section. To his surprise, he saw that this reading list owner was still online, discussing his opinions with his friends about a certain book. 
Zhang Zian hadn't read the book that they were talking about. However, from reading their conversation, Zhang Zian felt as if he had read it and learned about its successes and failures. From observing, Zhang Zian could tell that Yang Chenkong was very professional. 
For some reason, the comment section of his reading list was blank and had no advertisements. Zhang Zian chuckled to himself. He could take advantage of this rare opportunity to advertise. 
There were some basic rules of advertising for all reading lists. Unlike like people who put advertisements in bathrooms,  book-promoting advertisements couldn't be randomly posted. Each reading list owner had different requirements for advertisements. For example, Morning Gorilla Star had explicitly stated that he would only recommend novels with no or one female protagonist. Yang Chenkong, however, had a wide range of book choices. Except for supernatural novels, Yang Chenkong basically read every genre. 
However, the most difficult thing was that the list owner didn't specify which book genres he would recommend, and Zhang Zian didn't know how to cater to his preferences. After thinking about it for a while, Zhang Zian rewrote the message that he had sent to Morning Gorilla Star. He deleted the sentence "Currently, there is no female protagonist in this book." He added, "Feel free to read the sample chapters, but don't blame me if you're poisoned (Translator's Note: Read and Poison sound the same in Chinese)," hoping that his self-deprecating tone would draw Yang Chenkong's attention. 
After clicking "Send", he was too tired to repeatedly refresh the comment section as he did before. It was almost half past one in the morning, and he would need to get up early that day.
Putting down his cell phone, Zhang Zian lay down flat on the bed. Soon, he was half-awake and half-asleep, and he would completely fall asleep at any moment. 
In the darkness, Pi had been watching him the whole time. It had barely moved, except to slightly change its posture after its legs started to get numb.
Pi had always known about Zhang Zian's actions. It could tell from Zhang Zian's exhaustion. 
Since Zhang Zian was so tired, it wouldn't matter if he did these things later, right?
Pi opened its mouth and silently imitated the shape of someone saying "thank you."
What?
Zhang Zian thought he heard something. It seemed like someone was talking to him. He barely could open his eyes. His drowsiness was as heavy as a mountain, pressing down on his eyelids.
He looked around and found nothing out of the ordinary. He unlocked his phone screen and saw that it was past two in the morning. 
Since he hadn't logged out from the Qidian app yet, he clicked open Yang Chenkong's comment section, the second reading list owner he advertised on that night, hoping to find Yang Chenkong's review on Pi's novel. However, he found no review, and saw that the advertisement he had posted was gone.
No wonder the comment section was so empty. As it turned out, Yang Chenkong deleted all of the advertisements in his comment section. Zhang Zian's efforts were again all in vain. 
He couldn't keep his eyes open anymore. He shoved his cell phone under his pillow and fell asleep.

Have you ever wondered why some of the novels you see in Webnovel have no star ratings? They are the novels that have gray stars on them and most people don't bother giving them a second look.

Elyon was one of them. Whenever he encounters a novel without a star rating he just overlooks them and proceeds to check other novels. His reason? He thought that those novels with gray stars are dropped or in hiatus. Basically, he labels them as "dead novels."

He didn't know that the majority of these novels are the stories of new authors, who just started writing their story in Webnovels. There are literally thousands of novels that are written in this platform and some of them are buried in the pages of history.

So what is a star rating? A star rating is the rating that you see on a novel. Some of your favorite novels have 4.6, 4.8 and some of them have 4.9 ratings which are quite high. A novel's rating come from the reviews of their readers. In order for a novel to have a star rating of its own, it must first have "10 reviews" and the average of those reviews will form the star rating. 

After becoming an author, Elyon changed his point of view regarding novels without a star rating. Some of these novels appear on the daily updates and the trending list. The trending list is one of the best places for a novel to be advertised. Even now, Elyon doesn't know the requirements on how to appear on the trending list.

His fellow senior authors said that the trending list is completely random. Even those novels who are very popular will not necessarily appear on the trending list. The only requirement is that your collection should not exceed over three thousand to be featured on the trending list.

Elyon just finished writing a chapter and decided to take a rest. He looked at the front page of Webnovels and saw the trending list for the week (the trending list lasts for a week and is reset afterward). 

More than half of them don't have any star ratings and he immediately understood that they are stories made by new authors. Elyon casually checked the titles and he found one title at the very back of the trending list.

At the end of the list is a novel he found "Little Red Riding Hood, A modern day tale."

He smiled despite himself and decided to click the cover title.

There were no reviews, no comments, no anything. He decided to start reading it because he has a feeling that this novel will bring him surprises. 

He read through the chapters and contemplated. The overall appeal of this novel for him can be summed up in three words and that is "Simple and Clean."

There are no complicated writing, there are no complicated scenarios. Everything was simple and that is probably the reason why it is easier to read. For him, it was a good novel. It has a lot of potential and even though there some grammar and spelling mistakes, it doesn't change the fact that the novel is a good read.

He returned to the front page and once more looked at the grayed out star rating. He closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them, he clicked the give a review button.

"Let me be the first one to give you a review. I hope that it will help other readers get a good impression of your novel." Elyon wrote his review. He didn't bat an eye and gave it a perfect 5-star rating.

Author's THOUGHTS

In the past, I don't really pay attention to any novel without a star rating. I thought they were dead novels. Little did I know that these novels are very much alive. The authors behind these novels update them on a regular basis with the hope that someone out there will be able to read and appreciate their stories.

Some of these novels are dismissed and most people don't really care about them. They rot in some corner of the web and the authors who wrote them either gave up or persist in their work.

I believe that perseverance is a good trait a person must have. But sometimes, reality makes it hard even for the most stubborn of people. People wants to be appreciated. No matter how small, no matter how big, they want to be appreciated.

If someone doesn't pay attention to their efforts, then these people will ultimately lose their motivation. Their drive to move forward and persist will disappear. When the author loses all hope and abandon their works, then that is the time that the novel dies.

So please my dear readers. If you happen to see a novel on the daily updates or the trending list that have no star ratings, don't dismiss them right away. Give it a chance. Give the author a chance. Wouldn't it be great if you found a hidden gem along the way?

Once you found one, don't forget to leave a comment. It will work wonders and make the Author happy. If you want to go that extra mile, give it a review. Sometimes, even bad reviews can help as long as it's an "HONEST Review."

Point out the things that you like about the story and point out the things that you don't like. If you really like it, make sure to encourage the author not to drop his novel. Trust me, these simple things can split the sea and move mountains. 

Give it a try. Try to encourage an author today and maybe, just maybe, the author will be motivated and double his efforts. Who knows? The small seed of hope that you planted today will give birth to a towering tree that will give you the best stories that you had ever read in your entire life.

Lu Ping was directly sent by Weisheng to protect Hong er from any harm. But he had another motive other than that. He wanted to see Hong er's reaction when she was told that she would be an empress of another country. He knew that Weisheng was undercover as Sheng ge to court Hong er and that's why he wanted to know if she would be happy to be an empress and decided to forget Sheng ge.

But her reaction was different from what he expected, it seems like she wanted to reject the offer of being an empress but she was hesitant to reject it too. Then he noticed that she kept spacing out and sometimes she stares at Xu Tingfeng and Bai Huiqing. For a genius advisor like him, it was easy to guess what bothered Hong er.

Lu Ping: ' So she didn't want to marry His Majesty but she can't reject an imperial edict because of her family. What a filial daughter.'

Even though he stared at her with a smile on his face, Hong er shivered under his stares. It felt like everything inside her mind was being read by Lu Ping and it was similar to Lan Qingshan when he was teaching. Lu Ping noticed the slight changes in Hong er's eyes, he only smiled at her and continued to speak.

Lu Ping: " The dower will arrive in 5 days. We have an urgent matter to do so we left the other entourage that carried the dower from the capital of Da Qi. Please forgive us for the delay and here is the list of the dower."

Lu Ping bowed his head towards the three of them and handed a black and golden scroll to Xu Tingfeng. Xu Tingfeng unrolled the thick scroll and the end of the scroll rolled down until it bumped onto Hong er's foot, that shows how many the dower Weisheng gave to Hong er. Xu Tingfeng had expected Weisheng to do all of these things to marry Hong er but he didn't expect that Weisheng would go all out on the dower. Even Bai Huiqing almost collapsed after she read the list of the dower, her personal maid managed to catch her before she fall.

Just by looking at the length of the scroll, Hong er knew that it was no joke. She was aware that Da Qi was very wealthy and powerful thanks to the new emperor. He had made an alliance with Xi Bei the moment he ascended the throne, Xi Bei was well known in sea products and their fur coats since their country was at the northern part of the continent. Xi Bei's economics state and wealth suddenly risen and accumulate for these 13 years and now they became one of the richest countries in this continent. But despite their accumulating wealth, their power in military was not very good and that was one of their reasons in alliance with Da Qi. Da Qi was famous for their military forces and their mining products, they created great weapons with their high quality material.

Meanwhile, Da Chu was famous for their textile, herb and holy land. Many ancient and holy places were in Da Chu like Thousands Beasts Forest and Mountain of Goddess. Especially Mountain of Goddess, it was the place where the legends said that the Goddess of Light had descended from the heaven to visit the earth when there was a calamity where creatures suddenly found dead with unknown disease. She poured half of her power into the mountain and spread it all around the world from the ground, her light power stabilized the dark power and the world went back to its peace. Furthermore, her power had attracted many spirits to stay around the mountain and it results the land around the mountain to be very fertile.

Since Da Chu was the nearest to Mountain of Goddess, the highest quality of herb likely to grew around the mountain. Even if it was in winter, every kind of herbs would still grew even though the herbs were supposed to grow in summer. 

Xu Tingfeng could only sigh and facepalm himself while reading the dower list.

Xu Tingfeng: ' This kiddo wants me to go bankrupt. And I only just read a quarter of the dower. My god…'

The keen eyed Lu Ping noticed Xu Tingfeng's concern, he slowly approached Xu Tingfeng and whispered in his ears. Xu Tingfeng slightly leaned his ears to listen to Lu Ping.

Lu Ping: " His Majesty said that you can just use part of his dower as dowry."

Xu Tingfeng touched his chin with his finger and nodded his head in agreement. Hong er who was standing on the side was baffled by Xu Tingfeng and Lu Ping's close relationship, she never seen Xu Tingfeng being too friendly to anyone from Da Chu, rather than that, Xu Tingfeng's friends were most likely live in different country. Sometimes he went to some hidden places to meet up with friends and have a drink with them, his friends always gave gifts or letters to Hong er and greetings to Bai Huiqing. 

Usually Hong er was very patient in everything but seeing his father's expression after reading the dower list made her worry. She picked up the other end of the scroll that bumped onto her foot and read it, her body immediately froze after she read three lines of the list. She robotically turned her head and stared open mouthed at Lu Ping who was smiling at her.

Hong er: " Ex-excuse me, I-I think you had make a mistake."

Lu Ping: " No, we aren't, Miss Xu. This had been checked 3 times and by the emperor himself."

Hong er was once again dumbfounded by this Da Qi emperor's action.

Hong er: ' Does he has nothing to do? Is there something behind this? Is he trying to provoke Da Chu's emperor?'

Hong er tried hard to find a reason behind the enormous amount of expensive things in the list. She scrunched her eyebrows and continued to read the list, even the list was written in golden ink. Hong er couldn't bear looking at the list anymore, these kind of extravagant things were not suited for her. She couldn't accept all of the dower as she felt that she wasn't worth as much as the dower. Hong er rolled back the scroll and took it from Xu Tingfeng's hand and handed it over to Lu Ping. The puzzled Lu Ping only look fixedly at Hong er without having any intention to take the scroll from Hong er's hand.

Hong er: " My apologies Lu Gongzi. I can't accept this dower, this is too much for someone like me. I will still marry His Majesty even if he didn't give me this much of dower. Please take it back."

( A/N: Gongzi = son of nobility.)

Lu Ping's smile grew bigger and he chuckled, he expected that she would jump up and down from happiness after seeing the list of the dower. Usually most of the girls would be elated if they were given expensive accessories but Hong er's really a special one. He was very satisfied that Weisheng had chosen such a humble girl as the love of his life and as his empress, she would be a great leader for the people. Lu Ping shook his head to reject Hong er suggestion.

Lu Ping: " No, Miss Xu. You have to accept this dower or else…"

Lu Ping looked downwards in contemplation. Hong er became anxious when Lu Ping suddenly stopped in the middle of his sentence.

Hong er: " Or else?"

Lu Ping: " Or else His Majesty will add more things into the dower."

Hong er stood in silence. She really didn't get what this Da Qi emperor's mind, she started to think that he was crazy.

When the God of Darkness and the Goddess of Light fell in love with each other, the whole heaven was shaken.

Adie Bennion: "The goddess showed it to Sachi as if she had been standing beside her to watch from above. Sachi said she gave her the vision of him and her meeting not far outside the village on part of the area we use for shifting. She even let her know what both their thoughts were."  
Bowen Clingan: "She let you know what their thoughts were? Wow, that is quite detailed. What were their thoughts? Or do I even want to know?"
  Adie Bennion: "I will tell you what she said. You need to know. They were both extremely disappointed as the feral thought his mate would be a fellow feral, but he and his wolf basically said that they could take advantage of this as it would give them access to the other females in the tribe to steal away. Kaylan then thought that it would be the perfect opportunity to use her feral mate to try and kill me, or at the very least, have me captured. Our tribe needs to be protected. Do not let the goddesses warning go to waste."  
Tarai Bennion: "Well, when you put it like that, how can anyone argue."  
Bowen Clingan: "Very hard to argue with anything, especially since her cousin has a direct link to Selene. One would be a fool to ignore anything that she says."
  Sanguine Elders: "She was very precise on the male companion you came with Tarai. He does not appear to be a problem."  
Bowen Clingan: "I was exiled for accidently killing my mother during a feral attack. But the goddess has forgiven me because it was an accident. She told me that ten years of exile was enough. She also wants us to go to that gathering thing that Sachi is putting together."  
Ceilic Bennion: "Oh give me a moment, it was quite a while ago when she showed you that list, she made."
  Adie Bennion: "Ah that is right. She made a list to outline the main things that Selene wanted addressed. Oh, I have got it, it was called the "Lunar Solstice Mating Ritual", it was a rather detailed list. Hold on, I put it with the rest of my papers that were important."  
      Getting up, he went over to his desk and rummaged around the drawers. After about five minutes, he came back with the list she had compiled and read to the elders and everyone in the room. It was so detailed, that Adie almost forgot about all the important parts contained in it. He was only focused on the name she called the mating gathering. But now that he looks at the list again, he decided to go over all the points that she had written down. It was so much more feasible now, especially after what they have all witnessed.  
      He took a deep breath as he started to read through it, making sure to go somewhat slow. Making sure everyone got the gist of each point. Point one focused on the traditions that most everyone held. Since most of the traditions of a werewolf pack do not evolve around their emotions, especially jealousy, it seemed that Sachi's list focused mostly on how the pack should act in proper fashion. His daughter had even made a detailed summery of the pack hierarchy, followed by a detailed explanation of each according to Selena the Lunar Queen. It all began with the explanation of the Alpha status, including all its levels.  Followed by the Beta and all its levels. It was the same for the Gamma and Deltas, Epsilon, Iotas, Kappas, and lastly Omega. The elders looked on as if a duh moment had hit them, but they stayed quiet as to not disturb his explanations. Once he was finished with the first thing, he moved onto the second thing that was mentioned.  
      Point two made mention of what were to happen if a mate were to get rejected. This statement read aloud made all the people in the room look at him, to reject ones mate is exceedingly rare, but to know that there was a rule about it, even the elders were a little freaked over this concept. Adie then read the list off to the elders of the consequences of what punishment would be secured courtesy of Selena the Lunar Queen. He read how his daughter wanted the pack to understand what happens when their wolf is left without a mate. Their power is drastically reduced, not to mention they would be walking around with half a soul. Ignoring the mating protocol would have disastrous consequences for all involved. Adie then listed off the possibilities if a mate were to be rejected, Selene could offer two distinct solutions. Due to the mating bond, they could feel each other each time one or the other was with someone else or somewhere else. Selene could make it so the rejected mate, whether it be on either end, would not have to feel again if they could not handle the rejection. But that would make them end up as a hollow shell to a degree. Adie worried about reading this consequence, but decided if it was written down, he should read it, despite his internal conflict about it. The stares from everyone were enough to let him know it was a touchy subject.
      The second way to relieve the pain of rejection, would be to pray to Selene in hopes that she would break the first bond and find them another mate, even if it took till their sixtieth birthday, if no mate were not found by then, they would be doomed to roam matless. After all, a werewolf who could not be mated in a forty-two-year search, would probably remain matless anyway. Her father raised his brow as he read the two consequences. He wondered once again, only briefly, how their god could be so unforgiving. But he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind as they were consequences. All rules and traditions must have a punishment if broken, all his daughter did was write down the information given to her. He scanned the room as peoples faces told him they were just as shocked as he was when he first read them, but to see the reaction of the elders and others in the room really let him know the reality of it was real.  
      Next, he showed the outline for the gathering they had agreed to. He told them how his daughter decided to call it "Lunar Solstice Mating Ritual". He was still impressed with the idea behind it. Even going so far as to make sure it was similar to a dance in present times, but that concept can be altered depending on the opinions of the elders. The ritual would be held upon a neutral meeting place, a place where no one would be allowed to commit outright acts of violence, thus they would be banned and doomed to be matless. But thankfully, they already had the neutral space thanks to it being the same place they used for his daughter's mating ceremony. Though their instinctual attractions would pretty much solve the rest for itself. Once a wolf is in the vicinity of their mate, they would naturally be drawn to their scent, whatever it may smell like. The elders simply nodded their heads as they knew all to well that most wolves could not resist the attraction to their mates scent no matter what. He pointed out that everyone that was unmated that was age eighteen to sixty would all be gathered. It would make it far easier for everyone to find their mates.  
      He pointed out that every year, at least one major gathering would be set up, any and all that were unmated would be required to attend. If you did not find your mate one year, you would be required to attend every year till your sixtieth birthday. Since the average lifespan of a wolf was six hundred years, this time frame was mere peanuts to most wolves. This would make it easier to find their mate just in case someone's mate had not come of age just yet.  Even going so far as to have a sparing setup for people to work out their grudges after signing a statement that they would keep it to the sparring match. This one factor, Adie would make sure that way no one could say they did not know what they were doing. The elders seemed to love the idea and it may possibly quell a lot of pettiness among the tribes. The look on their faces said it all, they loved all the suggestions that were listed in Sachi's outline. Once he finished reading everything, he asked for their thoughts.
Adie Bennion: "So does anyone have any thoughts on all the things I read from the list that Sachi made all those months ago? What about you, my love?"

She dies in a horrible car accident, but not before Selene the Lunar Queen offers her the chance to step into her special alphas place. Sachi agrees and wakes up on the riverbank, badly injured from the ride in the water. Now she must keep her promise to the original  Sachi to help her find her mates and fulfill the destiny that Selene the Lunar Queen has laid out for her. With the disappointment Selene has faced in her children, she sends the twins and Sachi to help reteach her children the proper ways of the werewolf people. Far to many are trying to take on the attributes of the humans and their mother is not pleased.

Original Sachi Bennion: "PLEASE, please, I beg of you, to avenge me."


Sachi Bennion: "Who? Who are you? Are you speaking to… me?"


Original Sachi Bennion: "Yes, yes I am. Please, please avenge me. I was supposed to be paired to one of the men from the Crimson Tribe with any luck. As you have seen from some of my memories, I will not see that particular possibility unfold."


Sachi Bennion: "What would you like me to do? In my original world, I was nothing more than a clothing designer. Basically, a tailor that designed the outfits. I have no skills in fighting or how to be a leader. How will I manage such a feat? Hell, my only other possible skill is the fact that I studied herbology as a hobby."


Original Sachi Bennion: "Do not worry so much on that front, I will leave with you all my skills and fighting knowledge of this world. That way, you will not be so lost. Be sure to make use of those skills and train hard as you will surely need them to help you for the task to come. When my mate is found, you will be among the strongest female alphas in the whole tribe. Finding him will unlock us both completely, then we will be able to transform. That is part of why I was killed by them. Jealously!! Fucking jealousy! I cannot let things stand. It is to be my duty to help rule whatever tribe I am mated to. I refuse to let them get away with taking my role that I was groomed for my whole life. It is UNFORGIVABLE!! I beg of you; make them all pay for what they have done."


Sachi Bennion: "I understand, I shall do my best to avenge you. I promise to help figure out which one actually pushed you in and I will make them pay. I always keep my vows to people. This I will do since you have died unnecessarily with such grievance. Those who cannot respect family and traditions have no rights to speak of in my opinion."

The thin paper sat on the desk between me and Gaz-di. I got it by messenger hawk this morning and for the first time in a while, I had realized just how unprepared I was.
"They're going to be here early." I said, both initiating the conversation and ceasing the awkward silence that had persisted between us for the last 2 minutes.
"The 15th?"
"Yes. Read it yourself if you don't believe me."
I had read through it over 10 times before I called a meeting with Gaz-di. Now I had not only every detail, but every word from the message in my head.
Journey to take less time than expected. Currents have favored us as well as the motherland's ingenuity. We expect to have arrived before months end. We recommend completing the training of all current recruits as quickly as possible. We have extended the age of recruitment now to those of 10 years or more. Complete their training as well. Attached are material they will need for infantry and armored deployment. We have reviewed the list of students and assigned the roles as followed:

It scared me half to death to see the name of the 10 and 11-year olds on that list. It took me reading over 9 more times to confirm it.
"I believe you."
"Good."
"So what role do I play?"
I motioned to the list of material that had come with the letter. I had skimmed that less than the letter. Figured It wasn't my duty to focus on that aspect. I remember reading "field manuals" for the newest model of our tanks. They event sent a sample with them out of the kindness of our heart in case we lacked any of our own. And of course, we did. We weren't exactly a motor pool, Citadel. It would be a pain gathering an entire class around a single desk to read through it, but I'd leave that up to the teachers.
"Teach them what's on that list according to the other list of our students."
It always comes down to fucking lists.
He grabbed the lists from where they sat on the desk and read through them, the students first, then the material, shaking his head the whole time until he finished and looked up to where I sat.
"I don't have half the stuff on this list."
I grabbed the sample and slid it to where he sat. "That's all we're getting from the 15th. I recommend you make due with whatever else you have because either way, those kids are being deployed by mid-February. You decide whether they die in the first 10 minutes or the first 10 hours.
"So you're giving up on them?"
"Of course I'm not. I would have them live 10 lifetimes if I could. And that's what you and your teachers are going to do. Make them live as long as possible. Maybe it will only buy them minutes or hours, but either way, that's time you bought them."
"If I may ask, I saw Zihe's name on the list. He's still recovering from the burns. He can't even see out of his right eye."
I sighed. "Gaz-di, we're putting 10-year olds on the field and you're worried about him? I think he's the least of our concerns. I recommend you update your teachers and get them ready for the new material."
He stood up from my desk and bowed. "Yes sir." He said before promptly leaving. As he opened the door, I noticed Lieutenant Zarrow waiting outside and motioned him in through the cracks of the door. He noticed and pushed the doors open once more before they could close from the principal that had just left.
The last time I had seen him, I had gotten another scrap of his Gyani's damn journal. "Trust nobody." Like he was trying to remind himself not to trust the Fire Nation. What an asshole. The fact Zarrow was now standing here again didn't get me excited. I would get the first word here, not him.
"Zarrow. I didn't make you lieutenant to give me bad news. Tell me this isn't bad news."
"I'm afraid it is." He didn't bother sitting, but rather placed the slip of paper directly in front of me, folded as though he wanted nobody else to find it. I didn't blame him. We were the only two who knew about what Gyani had left behind. I started unfolding it while he said "An engineer found it in the pipeworks yesterday morning, scrunched up on the floor. It was unfolded when we found it."
I read it:
Trust Raava.
Watch out for Vaatu.
I sighed. I had thought this was over, but more and more kept popping up out of nowhere?
"So it's another page from the journal then."
"I thought so too sir, but I. I noticed something. I gave it to our scribe to make sure and he confirmed my suspicions. This was written recently. Just a little over a month ago."
What?! I heard my chair scrape back before I had even known I stood up. "How!?"
"The ink. The scribe could tell you better, but it was less dried. I don't remember how he put it, but-"
"No, idiot! I mean 'how' as in we already decapitated the man who wrote them! So is there a headless corpse writing messages in my city, did we kill the wrong man, or are there more like him, damnit?!"
"I don't know, sir. I j-"
"You are the commander of this garrison. Find how."
He gulped, and I just realized then I was holding him by the cloth of his uniform. I let go and he stumbled backwards. He saluted, too frightened to mutter a word, and left."
"He would start with the room again. It was right back to step one. I had been following ghosts before. Now I was following something all too alive. I wasn't sure which was worse."

As Zhen Liu stared at the status window, he began to focus on the aether arts list. A moment later, a new window listing off all of the aether arts Nepherage knew popped into his field of vision. Visually, it reminded him of some JRPGs where the skills could be swapped in and out.

When Zhen Liu focused on the [Eruption Knuckle] art, a little window describing the art popped open as the holgraphic image of Nepherage began to perform the art.

"Huh...well, at least it's less vague than that weird floating aether stuff. Wonder if it's cause of this ring that I can see it like this instead of all esoteric-like?"

As Zhen Liu pondered on the implications while staring at Nepherage's screen, he noticed a weird little book shape icon in the corner. When he switched his perception to what he called "native mode", the book shaped icon disappeared and was replaced with a headache inducing profound aether array. He switched his perception back before he got lost in trying to understand it's intricacies and started seeing the world beyond the veil of reality or something.

"I'll switch to native mode, once I cultivate more or something," Zhen Liu told himself as he clicked on the book icon.

A new window appeared in his field of vision that showed a long, long list of text. In the upper right hand corner was a number that read: 513783. As Zhen Liu read through some entries on the list, he recognized a chunk of them being the names of aether arts that he had seen in the Library of Nowhere. In fact, the top of the window screen read: "Library of Nowhere: Aether Arts List". This sight caused Zhen Liu to grimace as two possibilities popped into his head at this sight.

This either meant that the ring on his finger was connected to the Library of Nowhere or the ring was the Library of Nowhere. Both possibilities weren't necessarily good for his health.

"This means I gotta deal with a Castle Gr*yskull situation and hope to the heavens no one finds the library or I'm screwed, or it's a pocket dimension deal and I now have a mobile base/prison if someone finds out about this thing...," Zhen Liu thought to himself, "Worry about that later though, might as well see if this library window does what I think it does."

Zhen Liu began to mentally "click" through the aether arts list and found that it worked kinda like a library directory, including the ability to filter out entries based on certain criteria. Noticing the "most compatible with current kaijin" option, he clicked on that and the amount of aether arts presented dropped from 513783 to about ten thousand.

"That is still an absurd amount of arts to look through...speed reading mode let's go."

As he looked through the list, he saw that a majority of the arts listed were either of the Corporeal or Ethereal class with a few minor grade World class arts. When he double clicked one of the World class arts, a warning screen flashed.

[Warning: The following art exceeds the current kaijin's capabilities. Please remove other arts to make room for it or strengthen the current kaijin.]

Immediately after this warning popped up, the window showcasing Nepherage's arts moved to the front and a number indicator began to flash red.

[1000/1000]

Out of curiosity, Zhen Liu removed one of the arts from Nepherage's list, causing the number indicator immediately changed to read: [960/1000]. When he put the art back, the indicator went back to [1000/1000]

"Huh...Skill points by any other name is just memory storage," Zhen Liu mused, "Safe to assume higher ranking equals more usable arts...or higher level of arts are usable."

Zhen Liu perused the list of arts, but soon came to the conclusion to not change any of Nepherage's current repertoire...yet. There were just too many to look through and he was too tired to continue doing so.

"Now I guess I turn this thing off by...ah."

Zhen Liu focused on the ring, symbol and bracelet once again, but instead of feeding it more aether, he thought of retracting it. The moment he did, everything turned off and Zhen Liu's view returned to darkness.

"Well...time to sleep," he thought as he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Earlier

"I wonder how he's doing?," Jin Fang thought as she walked to Zhen Liu's room, "He's usually quite shy at parties, let alone his own funeral. He must be quite tired."

Jin Fang eventually reached the door to Zhen Liu's room and was about to open, when she noticed a strange colored light coming from th edges of the door.

"What's this? Is the young master cultivating in there?"

Curiosity getting the better of her, Jin Fang opened the door just a crack to see what was causing the light. What she saw shocked her.'

"What on Valresta?!," she quietly gasped.

Zhen Liu was lying in bed, but he wasn't sleeping. Instead, Jin Fang saw that his eyes were glowing alongside his left hand which he held aloft.

Encapsulating the young master was a strange ghostly being that looked a bit like a demonic marionette with a dozen arms that appeared to be fiddling with a strange looking orb of covered in diagrams and runes.

Every now and then the arms would pull something out of it, twist and turn it, then put it back in rapid alien-like movements.

Jin Fang stared, enraptured by the strange sight, until the strange marionette ghost suddenly turned it's head towards her.

She stifled a gasp at the ghostly figure sudden movement, but was thrown off guard when the marionette ghost just...waved at her before going back to doing whatever it was doing.

Under Jin Fang's gaze, the marionette slowly stopped it's work, moments before the glowing around Zhen Liu stopped and the orb that was being held aloft absorbed into his palm.

"Well...time to sleep", Jin Fang heard Zhen Liu mutter before actually falling asleep. Not wanting to disturb him, Jin Fang closed the door and proceeded to sneak away.

"Zhen Liu...what was all that?," she couldn't help but think as she walked away.

Horrible Accident? Check

Otherworldly Soul Yeeting? Check
