Was reading manga day then I got sucked into a portal which led me to become a a rusty old farming scythe.

As Ana and Light headed to Ustedrias, she sat in the carriage reading her mother's book. It was a good thing Light hadn't forgotten to take it when they were ambushed. If he had, and the enemies had laid their hands on it, things wouldn't end to well for the human and supernatural  race. Her attempts were made futile though, every time she tried to read a new line, her thoughts would drift back to the memories she'd had when her mother was still alive.


Especially that time when the water company cut off the neighborhood's supply because of a long period of drought. Everyone reeked and yet at the end of the day they were able to have fun because it finally rained in what seemed like years. Everyone bathed in it. She could remember vividly the fact that little children ran around butt-naked in the rain. Screaming, laughing and rolling in the mud like pigs.


She laughed and wiped a stray tear after seeing one land on the page she was reading. Whipping up the courage to continue reading, she found a chapter on eye colors. 
It read:


Crimson red means the power of flames and anger. 
Golden rim (the individuals iris is a golden) means the power of visions. 
 Antarctic ice means conjuring or manipulating the element as well as turning an innate object into ice.


As Ana continued reading, Light stopped the carriage. She looked up from her book for five seconds, scanned the area and then asked. "Light, what's going on?" No answer. "Light why did we stop?" No answer. She decided to get off and walk to the front of the carriage.


"Ligh-"


"I need a break, Ana. It's already after three." he said sleepily as he looked at the direction of the sun and his shadow. 


"Fine." she said a little aggravated. He was right though, he was tired. His eyes were droopy and his stance was weak. Him having to do all the work as she sat snuggly in the carriage wasn't so fair. Especially the fact of him being out there, alone and susceptible to all the danger. "I'll drive," she offered as she placed the book in the carriage and walked up to take the reigns.


"No, Ana," Light said as he held her wrist. She turned to watch him and he scanned the area. "I don't think you should do that."


"Why not?"


"Demons invaded your home and killed your mother. They kidnapped your brother-they could be hiding in these woods right now waiting for the right moment to attack."
Ana scoffed. "Let them try," and she pulled her wrist from his hold and climbed on the seat and faced ahead.


"Ana this is dangerous. I'm your bodyguard-"


"Then you'll protect me. Look out the window whilst I drive and alert me, simple."


"I won't let you do that Ana. You're too valuable and you still need more training."
When he said that, she turned her head slowly to watch him. "Your lack of faith in me is quite enlightening." Sarcasm laced in her voice.


His eyes grew wide and he shook his head, "That's not  what I meant..."


"Then what do you mean!"


"Ana please. It gets late pretty quickly this time of year. I don't feel comfortable with you riding up there alone and I don't want to argue. Just...please, go back in the carriage and after ten minutes we'll head off again."


Ana faced forwards and folded her arms. "No. Either you get your ass up here with me since you're so afraid of me being up here alone, or you sit your ass in the carriage and let me do you a favor."
Startled and pissed at her stubbornness, Light stared at her and chuckled afterward. "You really are ratchet and stubborn and annoying."


Ana scoffed with surprise and watched him. "Well you're one to talk, calling me ratchet. I'm more well-mannered than you are."


"It was one time, Ana. One time can we drop it?"


Ana laughed and playfully tapped her chin. "Maybe..." They burst into laughter which lasted for ten seconds. "How much farther do we have to go?"


Light looked ahead and remained silent. "Shouldn't be too long. There's a village not too far from here, maybe we can spend the night and continue tomorrow." By that time, his eyes were trained on her again awaiting her response.


"And you're sure you don't want me to drive?"


 His eyelids drooped showing how serious he'd become at her statement.


"I mean it's only for a few minutes you said it yourself, it's not too far away from here."


Gray's expression lightened a bit and he took a step forward. Both of them staring into each others eyes, "I appreciate you trying to help Ana, but-"


"Okay," she said and slapped her hands on her thighs. "You're the boss," and she slid off the seat and entered the carriage without another word. Light reclaimed his seat and before he cracked the whip, Ana spoke.


"Wait. If we get a car, could I drive when you're tired?"


"What's a car?"


Ana looked at him shocked until a smirk crept up on his face and he winked. Ana laughed and shook her head, "Good one. I almost believed you there!"


And Light laughed in return before he cracked the whip and the carriage started moving.


 "Do you think they'll have a Nissan or a Chevrolet or-"


"Oh maybe even a Cadillac!" Light replied sarcastically. "Really Ana, a village. How can a village have these sorts of-"


"Never, ever  judge a book by it's cover Light," Ana said with a lazy smirk on her face and a gleam in her eyes. As he looked at her with soft eyes, he said. 


"That is true...you did teach me that the first day we met." He smiled slowly after and Ana looked in front of her as if she could see him. She blushed and laughed a few seconds later. 


"Did I now?"


An hour later, it began to rain heavily. The skies were as dark as the night and lightning flashed through the sky, frying a bird that flew by. The trees on the roadside looked dark and gloomy and so did the sign which said: Welcome to Proxy Pracs. "Who in their right mind, would name a village Proxy Pracs? Is that even a name?"


Ana didn't take the thought of staying in this village lightly. It looked way to creepy and suspicious. Everything about it seemed dark, but that was only the outside of it. As they went past the sign, what she saw was very much surprising. It looked as bright as day, the bird's chirped, mockingbird's sang sweet songs and the fresh air was amazing. "Damn, the irony here is pretty strong...."


But something dawned on her. If the outside really looked like how it did, then why does the inside look the opposite of that. Her instincts told her that it wasn't safe to stay here, despite it's appearance. Someone or something did this on purpose, and it sure wasn't to lure people in. 


"Light...I don't think we should stay here. Turn around."


But he didn't listen. 'How deaf could this damn boy be?'  "Light! Are you listening to me?" Nothing. Ana she groaned and the carriage stopped. She felt movement from the front, guessing he'd jumped off because he opened the door for her. "What is it Ana?" He asked as he looked at a lady, and a young girl about Ana's age. They stood outside of a building which was made out of brick and wood.


The wind blew gently and everything was quiet except for the squeaking of the sign above their heads which said: Proxy Pracs Inn. "Oh nothing...I forgot you were deaf!" she seethed and Light looked at her as if to say 'What?' she rolled her eyes and got off the carriage. "Forget it." Light walked up to them and they spoke with each other for a few seconds. The lady looked at Ana and then back at Light nodding, all the while the other one kept her eyes on Light's every movement. Ana rolled her eyes.


Two minutes later, Light led a reluctant Ana to the women and she stopped in front of them. The air seemed deadly, suffocating would be a better word. "Ana, these are the owners of Proxy Pracs Inn. They've decided to take us in for the night and I've agreed." 


Ana shot him a glare and then smiled at them wearily. "Ugh...e-excuse us for a moment." She said grabbing his arm and dragging him away, putting enough distance between them. As she did that and glanced at them briefly, they looked back at her innocently. A little too  innocently.


"Light, I don't want to stay here. Something's funny about this place. I--" she sighed. "Something's not right." And in agreement, the horses neighed and shifted uncomfortably stamping their hooves into the ground.


"What do you mean something's not right? I don't see any problems, Ana. Besides, we've been travelling the whole damn day-"


"Exactly my point! It's right there. For hours we've been on the road Light, the sun is supposed to be setting. Not still blazing bright in the sky. Another thing is when we approached here. Everything was dark with lightening and heavy rain and suddenly it's a place full of sunshine? Not to mention the way they are practically staring at me. Ligh-"


"Ana what the hell are you talking about? There was no such thing as we passed, you're dill--"


"Don't let that freaking word leave you damn mouth dam it! I- am- not- staying- here, Light. I know what I'm saying and I know what I saw." She looked around and felt like eyes were piercing into her back, forcing its way to her soul. Ana felt prickly and became agitated as her skin started to scratch. 
Light sighed heavily and held her shoulders, drawing her attention to him. "Listen, Ana. What ever you think you saw..." she rolled her eyes and looked away from him. "Look at me." She looked at him furious, but his eyes were the complete opposite. "What ever you think you saw, it's not real. And even if something were to hurt you...or by the heavens, happen to you...I'd never let it. You understand? Right now I see no threat, so don't worry."


"There's a girl there Light...sure you won't slip up like the last time?" she teased him and glared at him as if daring him to contradict her. Light looked at the girl and back at Ana. 


"She doesn't seem to bad..." he joked. Ana gasped and cuffed him on his arm. He laughed, "Damn 
girl, save your energy. You know damn well why I slept with the-why are we even talking about this? I don't-"


"E-excuse me but, mother says it's time to come inside. I-If you're still considering..." her eyes drifted to Ana. 


"No."


"Yes!" Light said above Ana's voice, leaving an interrupted Ana fuming. "We'll be staying. Please...lead the way." The young girl smiled softly and led the way to the Inn. 


"You are so dead." Ana seethed in his ear beside him, which only made him laugh. As they entered the Inn, Ana saw the carriage being led away by a young boy across the street to another area.

Inside the Inn was nothing special. It was like any ordinary home. "My name is Sasha, nice to meet you." She bowed to Ana politely, but her eyes kept skimming Light's features. 


"Slutty much?"  Ana muttered under her breathe as she turned to glance out the window. Sasha looked at Ana puzzled. "Disculpeme?" The word immediately complemented her Spanish accent.


"Ugh... she's nice to meet you too." Light jumped in, as he looked at Ana from the corner of his eye. Whilst Light conversed with Sasha heading towards the kitchen, Ana's attention was focused on the activity outside. The other owner of the Inn seemed to be talking to someone outside, handing him something whiles pointing at the house.


Before she could see anymore, Light called her from the doorway, telling her dinner was ready. Ana lingered a bit more before heading to the kitchen. After Sasha gave her a plate of food and left, she spoke. "Light, I don't trust her nor that lady." 


On impulse, he dropped his fork and sipped on his wine instead of glaring at her. Ana leaned over the table and whispered. "I saw that lady give someone outside something and pointed to this place. She-"


"Ana, seriously, you're becoming annoying. Can't you just give it a rest? I've heard your naggings today quite enough. I told what I had to tell you and I wont say it again. Do you hear me? I won't. Now, either you shut up and let a man eat or you leave." he stared at her upset, like really upset. His face was red with furry as he clenched his jaw.


Ana scoffed and rested her back on the chair looking at him long and hard. "Fine! No one ever seems to believe me anyway. They look at me like I'm some psychotic...you know what? Fine, I'll stay, I'll shut up and let you eat. But whatever happens, I'd be more than happy to let you deal with the consequences yourself."


"I-Is everything okay?" Sasha came in worried as she looked at the both of them. Ana pushed her seat back roughly, slammed her napkin on the table making Light jump and walked past Sasha fumingly. Light sighed and looked at her apologetically. 


"I'm sorry just some...you know what it's nothing, don't worry about it."


"Couple trouble?" Sasha dared to ask as she sat down in Ana's seat. Light nearly chocked on his chicken. 


"Haha, why do you think that ?" he asked nervously and looked around unable to stay calm. 


"Hmm... don't know." She laughed, "It's just the way you guys talk is all. Like you're some old married couple." Light laughed and stared at his food. "N-No we're not a couple." His voice came out with humor. 


"Mmm well that's good. Wouldn't want to let all this go to waste now would we?"
Suddenly he felt something slide up his leg and stop between them. He gulped and stared at her. She gave him an innocent smile and excused herself, swaying her hips as she left. "Damn," he looked down at his bulging crutch.

Ana stormed out the back door and sat down on the grass. She let out a heavy sigh and laid down looking up at the stars. Her thoughts drifted immediately to her baby brother. "Simion... where on earth are you?" she missed him. "The little womanizer. I wonder if dad was like that when he was younger? Hmmm?"  Then everything went blurry, she wasn't in the backyard anymore but in a room. The scene played before her eyes, but not clear enough to be able to predict anything.
Yet something was as clear as day and she'd heard it before. "You need to get out of here Ana. You and your bodyguard aren't safe. You didn't listen to me the first time, listen to me this time." The vision vanished the same way it came and Ana sat up looking around to see if anyone saw her and as if on cue, a silhouette of a figure ran in the dark with a flash of golden eyes. Fae.


When she turned to look at the house, she saw the older woman looking at her without emotion before walking away. Ana looked forward and kept gasping heavily for air.

Ana is a seventeen year old, living in the city of Andarios with her mother Claris and brother Simion. Her father, to her knowledge had an unfortunate death on an expedition when she was ten years old. Now that she will be turning eighteen in a few weeks, all she ever hopes for is to leave Andarios and see the world. Claris disagrees and they end up in a family feud. Little does she know that this little family feud will give her the answer to her prayers, when she encounters an Angel with a message that will change her life forever.

I was made to apologize but I refused to do so because I did nothing wrong. Screw her, I have nothing to apologize for and I am not bowing my head to someone else who is weaker than myself.

I refused to apologize and Solstice insisted on making me apologize, we were now stuck in a loop that will not be resolved until one of us bends. The person who will bend over will not be me. 

Solstice was angered by my actions and punished me by staying in the orphanage's library where the books and knowledge book was kept. I was ecstatic by this punishment.

Solstice wanted to have the three boys I punished follow me in the library, I think she is hoping to see if we can work things out. I think that would be an impossible task. Or something on that line. 

= "You boys will be spending the night together in the library and reflect on what you did. Try to escape and you will get no breakfast." =

I was led in a library and the three boys followed me. Solstice asked us to get along before leaving us alone. I threatened the three to not make a ruckus else I will make them shut their mouths. 

Someone shouted back and asked me threateningly, = "Or what? You dirty half-breed!" =

I punched him and knocked him out cold, but he dared cold me dirt and I added a kick on the abdomen. 

He resembled a cooked prawn after that and the other two dragged the other one's body away in fear of receiving my fist. 

It was on the day that I learned of what a library is that I found something that truly interested me. 

Although there were things I have already learned in both the hospital and through the World Cube. 

I began to read anyway, the books I read consists of stories about people who called themselves as [Seekers]. 

Seekers were people who gathered in a place called a [Seeker Union] or [Seeker Guild]. 

Many famous Seekers had their stories written on books, it was enjoyable to read and imaging their adventures.

People who called themselves mages interested me even more.

Beings who can control the four fundamental elements of the world to cast a spell and inflict injuries to their enemies with space in between them.

The complicated and elegant way of using one's mind to plan ahead before using a spell. The delicate way of implementing spells in different situations.

It was wondrous and I was drawn to these stories, and before long, the night became day and I had to do my task before continuing my reading session. 

After learning of storybooks, I yearned for them more and more. 

And with dozens of books and not one child wanting to read them, I found myself reading a book all by myself, only moving away when I need to eat, take a bath, poop, piss, and do finish my tasks. 

I will also be forced to go to my room and sleep at night which displeased me. 

I wanted to read these storybooks, the orphanage had what you call a light bulb that could light up a whole room.

Back when I used to live with Von, the only light we had was a lamp so it made it hard for me to read. But with the bright and wondrous light bulb, I could read like it was daytime.

But because of my curfew, it was almost impossible for me to read at night as much as I would want. So, I device a plan that could let me read as much as I wanted. 

That plan was simple, I beat up the three boys and I would be sent to the library to reflect. I nodded my head and implemented the plan and beat the three boys for two days straight and gained access to the library at night by using this method. 

But after I beat the three boys a third time, the plan did not work and I was busted. 

I gained no entry to the library that night and the boys were beaten up by me for nothing. What could have they done to suffer such injustice? 

For their sacrifice to be in vain, it was such a sad sight. 

But Solstice did have enough of me acting like so and she learned of my intentions. So, she gave me the right to enter the library whenever I wanted to. 

But not that night because that night, I was punished to go to sleep early and forget about books. 

Coming back to the present time. I now gain access to the library and I now finish every storybook inside the library. I moved into reading books about spells and mages rather than stories about them.

Now, I want to become a mage myself. So, I opened a book about mages and read through the fundamentals of becoming a mage. 

In the seventh month of the year 982 N.E, a full year after I arrived in the orphanage, I finished all the books yet gained useless information about mages. 

In the past year I spent in the Shining Sun Orphanage, I became recluse and my distance towards the other children increased. Which was both a shame and something good?

It was a shame because I think I finally downed my smile and my attitude towards socialization. And good because I could focus on my study of magic and spells. 

But even after a year of researching and trying different methods. I failed to make a connection with any of the four elements, [Fire], [Water], [Wind], and [Earth].

It was tough for me to make a connection with them because of something peculiar. 

A child that awakens as a mage will already make a connection with an element once they create their Mana Core. The instant a Mana Core was created, they will automatically be connected to the element they have the highest affinity.

It is at this time where one of the more old ways of measuring one's talents comes to light. 

Any child that awakens will connect to at least one of the four fundamental elements, but because I already have a Mana Core when I awaken, it seems like I am a rare case. 

I had not said anything about having mana to Solstice, I do not want to attract attention to myself. I had learned many things on stories I have read and many of their stupid mistakes was showing off when they had no strength or backing to protect themselves. 

Bottom line is, I am in a tough position where I have to figure out a way how I can make a connection.

A month passed and I am still left with no solution, at this point of time, a young man came into the orphanage. 

The young man had black hair opposite of my white hair. He had black eyes when I have red, I am comparing his features to mine because I fail to distinguish what is a handsome and a beautiful face to what is not.

They say I am handsome, so my basis was my own face. 

Going back, the young man that came in was seven years old and is weird as he chose to be alone and was somewhat similar to me other than the fact he has no ability to do any chores. 
But he was oddly more likable and had many children flock around him. 

In the first three months, I ignored his existence and focused on my own things. But as time went on, and a month passed, other children became jealous of the attention the child was getting and he was harassed and ignored by other boys. 

At some point, I managed to witness five people surrounding him. 

They were ganging up on him and I found it entertaining that someone was getting hurt so I stayed and watched to see what would happen. 

Everything was happening on the back of the library and I was watching in a barely noticeable window. 

The five boys pushed him around and after one bad push and the boy fell down. 

He finally had enough and stood his ground. He fought back, but not with his fist. Instead, he held a red pendant that was dangling over his neck. A red flash of light escaped his body. 

The boy opened his mouth and uttered, = "Igni!" =

A small ball of flames flew out of his hands and hit a nearby rock, a mini-explosion occurred. 

Boom.

It did not heat any of the boys, but it scared the living out of them and they fell onto their asses. 

The boy who cast the spell looked down upon them and I heart him said coldly, = "Mess with me and that will land on any of you five." =

I was clueless about the ways of the world, but I can supplement that with my ardent desire for knowledge.

I was powerless, but I now wield powers no mortal can hope to comprehend.

I was kind, but I learned ruthlessness is the only way to live in a world that wants my head. 

Generals, Kings, Emperors, and Gods are just some being who gained recognition but all of them like everyone else.

I am a being no one wanted to exist, I am a scourge, but I will rise and be revered by all.

And if they do not bend their knees? Their fates will be sealed underneath my feet.  

Kneel before the one who treads the Monstrous Path.

Ming Yue was slightly happy after reading the introduction. Her swordsmanship is primarily focused on speed and with this art she could become even faster. As she continued reading, she became happier and happier. Although she was technically was at the basic level of sword fighting, she was quite talented at it, coupled with a decent comprehension ability and she could be considered a talent.

The book described 7 moves: Shadow Slash, Hidden Darkness, Descent of the Twilight, Flashing Light, Flickering Shade, Eclipse. The first three moves are quite easy to learn but the difficulty spiked after that. Especially the final move, Eclipse, It was not the fastest move in this set but it was the deadliest. 

The Dark Shadow Trio were only able to learn up to Hidden Darkness. Although, it cannot be considered a top martial art, it was still decent enough. 

By the time, Ming Yue had finished looking over the book, the sun had begun to rise. Realizing that the night was already over, she decided to cultivate for a bit. After the multiple fights, she wanted to check the changes in her body.

While the Human Realm focused on training the body, there was internal and external training. While external training could be done with body tempering, internal training was done by moving your inner force all throughout the 12 channels of your body, strengthening the bones, blood, organs, etc. Both ways are quite painful but not excruciating, of course pills can be taken to lessen the pain or improve your cultivation rate. Although the cultivation stage is a general indicator of  strength, it does not dictate everything. There are also other things like talent, skills, weapons that affect your strength. It is possible to defeat someone  of a higher stage but even then it is a difficult feat to achieve.

As of right now, Ming Yue could be said to be closing in at the peak of the 2nd level. Before, she was at the middle stages, however with her current ability, she could contend with someone of the third stage. 

She winced in pain as she moved her inner force throughout each meridian. She was still not quite adept at using it an so she could only cultivate slowly and carefully. If she did not do so, it would risk causing severe damage. She didn't have a proper cultivation method, and could only pass her inner force through points where the pain was bearable. This method was crude but with practice, she found a relatively comfortable method that seemed to to give the best results. 

Her body had begun to show signs of improvement and Ming Yue's breathing evened out. Several hours passed as her cultivation continued. Then someone began knocking on the door.

"Ming Yue? It's time to wake up!"

She got up from her bed and went to the door. She felt quite relaxed and refreshed, her mind was clear and she even had a little smile on her face. She opened it and was greeted by Cui Fen, who had brought a bowl of congee with her. It was simple but it had lots of toppings on it like green onions, bits of fish, etc. It was delicious. 

After, Ming Yue finished eating, Cui Fen brought her around and introduced her to everyone as her savior. They all complimented her beauty while thanking her. Then a girl around 10 years appeared out of no where. She was cute and had a bright smile on her face. 

"This is my daughter, Rou'er. Rou'er, this is Ming Yue", said Cui Fen. 

Rou'er turned and faced Ming Yue.

"Did you save my mother?", she said as she stared at Ming Yue's face.

Ming Yue nodded and was pleasantly greeted by a hug from her. 

"Thank You!" said Rou'er. 

She smiled and hugged her back telling her that it was not a problem.

After meeting with everyone, Cui Fen left Ming Yue as she had some tasks to do. Taking this opportunity she put on her Floating Breeze Robes that she bought and went to find the same shop from before. She was curious about the ring that she had taken from the trio and wanted to see what secrets it had.

After putting on her clothes and slippers, she took her sword and went out.

Born from tragedy, she wields a blade of death, shining under the moonlight. Each swing takes hundreds of lives, each step leaves a trail of corpses, every move capable of dividing the stars. Her journey is not for the faint of heart as it is a solitary path drenched in blood. But only on this road will she will heal from the scars of the past.

They were walking on a paved road surrounded by tall trees, while Yule could see some fireflies flying around the area, making the place more magical. 

The group passed a giant white stadium with lights on glowing on the second and third floors. Further ahead, they arrived at a five-story building with long corridors. 

"This is the students' dorm," Professor Fields introduced to Yule. "We will have to say goodbye to Ranger and Sanna for the meantime. Yule will stay temporarily at the Teacher's Dormitory where he will stay at my guest bedroom."

The three students nodded at the Professor, then Ranger and Sanna waved goodbye to them. Yule and Professor Fields walked more and arrived at a western-style mansion. The mansion was surrounded long brick walls, and in the middle was a metallic gate. 
Professor Fields pulled a card from his lab coat and flashed it at the gate. The gate automatically swung open, and the two entered the premises.

Upon entering the mansion, they were greeted by a chubby man at the desk. He tried to comb his unkempt hair when he saw the two. Professor Fields explained to him that he was with his nephew, and he will stay for a night while his transfer papers were being processed by the administration. The chubby man looked at Yule, then waved them off.

They climbed the staircase and went to Professor Fields' room. The room was very cozy, plastered with sky blue paper walls. There were two couches in front of a painting depicting the fall of angels in the bible. At the side of the room, two bookshelves stood with books filling it. Opposite of it, two doors erected on the side leading to the bedrooms.

Professor Fields opened the left door and led Yule inside. The guest bedroom had a single bed and own bathroom. 

"I think you had a very long day. You may rest here, Yule. We will talk in the morning." Then Professor Fields closed the door.

Yule went first into the bathroom and washed his face. After that, he leaped on the bed and released a long sigh. He agreed on Professor Fields he had a very long day. He could not believe that he was lying on the bed after the aswang they fought earlier almost killed him.

Yule was also thinking about tomorrow when he would start faking himself as the nephew of Professor Fields. Many thoughts and images entered in his mind until sleep arrived.

A knock woke up Yule. He stretched his shoulders and rose from the bed. 
Someone pushed open the door, and Professor Fields's head popped up. "I brought clothes."
Yule grabbed the clothes and told him how grateful he was. After cleaning and changing his clothes, he met the professor.
The professor was sitting on one of the couches and reading a book. 

"I forgot to say last night that how cozy the room is for a teacher," Yule said. 

Professor Fields closed the book and smiled at Yule. "I'm glad you like the room also. This is the least that the Academy could do to us since most licensed slayers preferred to be on the field."

"So you mean to say, all the teachers of this academy are licensed slayers?"

Professor Fields nodded at him. He rose from the couch and returned the book he was holding to the bookshelf. "We should go to the dining area. Breakfast is being served now."
The professor led the way to the dining area located on the ground floor of the mansion.

After their breakfast, Professor Fields and Yule went out and headed to another facility located in the southern part of the academy.
 
"We will meet with my colleague who we can trust about your situation. This colleague of mine will do an examination of your body and the shard embedded on your chest."

Yule nodded at him. He was actually nervous about what they would find on his body.

They arrived at a seven-story building and went to the third floor. The floor had a long hallway where they passed some Engkanto wearing long white coats. 

Professor Fields went to the end of the hallway and knocked. When no one answered, the professor slide the door open and found a female Engkanto typing rapidly on the hologram keyboard while her glamoured eyes were glued to the hologram screen.

Yule and Professor Fields entered the room, but the female Engkanto was deeply engrossed in her work. Professor Fields coughed louder, and the female Engkanto finally noticed them. She quickly jumped on her feet and faced them. 

The female Engkanto had deep blue colored hair with pink color covering the tail of her hair. She was about the same height as Professor Fields. Yule also observed that she was stunningly beautiful like the other Engkanto he had met. But Yule felt some gentle presence coming from her.

"Matteo," the female Engkanto started.

"Avatara," Professor Fields curtly replied.

"I assume that he's the guy you've mentioned from your email late last night?," Avatar inquired while eyeing Yule.

Professor Fields faced Yule and introduced her. "Yule, I would like you to meet Avatara. She's the colleague I've mentioned to you. She will try to help us." 

Avatara nodded at him then she clicked on the hologram keyboard. Automatically, the screen and the keyboard winked out. 

"Come, follow me." 
They were behind her when she started guiding them on another hallway inside the room. 

They stopped in front of a sliding door room. Avatara opened the door and led them inside.

The room was pure white. Yule also noticed a circular-shaped metal platform in the middle of the room. 

"B719, initiate the examination," Avatara ordered to no one. Then hologram screens started appearing around her. Words and charts appeared on the screens. She quickly typed something on the screen in front of her, then a word 'Standby' displayed on the screen.

"Yule please stand on the platform, so we can start scanning you," Avatara instructed Yule.

Yule went to the platform and felt uncomfortable, standing in front of Professor Fields and Avatara.
Then a hole appeared on the ceiling, and a ball drone flew downwards and levitating in front of Yule. The ball drone had the same appearance as the drone of Manu.
"Shall we start the scanning?" The ball drone asked in a monotonous voice.
"Yes, please. Initiate Overall Scanning and Shard Examination," Avatara replied.
Professor Fields went behind Avatara looking also at the screens surrounding her.
The ball drone released a red light from its eye. The red light scanned his head first, then went all the way to the bottom. Data started appearing on hologram screens which made Avatara nodded. Then, the red light started going upwards and stopped on his chest. It stayed there for a few minutes. Then the red light disappeared. The ball drone stayed levitating in front of Yule.
"Done scanning," the ball drone announced. Afterward, it flew back to the ceiling.
Additional data started appearing on the hologram screens, but this time, it made Avatara frowned. 
Suddenly, they heard a knock from the door. Professor Fields and Yule looked at it and found Sanna opening the door. She nodded at the professor and waved at Yule.
"This might take a while," Avatara announced.
"Yule may step down from the platform. Sanna will escort you out. The two of you may roam around the academy while we wait for the result. I'll stay here with Avatara." Professor Fields said to the two.

When the two exited the room, Avatara furiously typed on the holograms and it generated more data and graph on the screens. Professor Feilds was just observing the whole process, letting her do her expertise. 
After a few minutes, Professor Fields sensed that she was about to conclude her work. Avatara displayed some images on the screens and faced the professor.
"As expected the boy is in good health. He has the same DNA structure with humans on this Earth. Same body functions, nothing different. What surprised me is this," Avatara slid the screen in front of her and a shard appeared on it. "A common shard usually have spirit energy readings around it." She held the image of the shard and put a throwing action towards Professor Fields.
The shard appeared outside the screen via holographic imaging. It was floating in the air, and the two crowded around it. Avatara and Professor Fields were looking at close up version of Yule's shard.
"But the boy's shard doesn't have any spirit readings I could trace. It supposed to have a spiritual reading. It's usually emitted by the contracted mythical being, and I've never encountered this kind of shard." Avatara said in a tired voice.
"But they recounted that a weapon came out of it," Professor Fields insisted at her.
"I know, and I believe them. You know why?" Avatara touched the holographic image of Yule's shard, and a holographic screen appeared beside the shard. "The scan read there's a spiritual weapon inside it. And I'm dumbfounded where's the power coming from. I'm thinking his shard might be different because he came from another world which made it special."
Professor Fields looked at the holographic image of the shard, then sighed.
"I guess it's my job now to figure it now," he said to Avatara.
"Oh please, keep me updated. I'm intrigued by the boy's shard. Let me know if you need anything else."
"I trust, you will not say a word to anyone," Professor said carefully at the Engkanto.
Avatara nodded at him in reply.
"I guess, we're done here for the meantime. I'll go now and work on Yule's papers for his admittance on the academy."
"Do you think it's a good idea to let him in?"
"Like I always say to others, we need more slayers regardless of where he or she came from."
Professor Fields waved farewell to Avatara and exited the room.

Sanna was busy looking at the mobile device she was holding. Yule could peek some videos on the glass screen of the device. Every now and then, some notifications popped on the screen, while the two were walking outside.
Then Sanna stopped halted her movement still engrossed on her mobile device.
"I didn't know it was today," she mumbled to herself. Sanna faced Yule and smiled at him. "Since it's so boring just to roam around the academy, I have this better idea," she said in a playful tone.
The two went to the stadium. This is the same stadium that Yule saw last night before going to Ranger and Sanna's dormitory.
The lobby area of the stadium was huge, and many students roamed around the area, while some were hanging out on the couches. There was also a holographic screen floating in the air, displaying various announcements. 
Sanna hurriedly climbed the escalator while Yule was tailing her. After riding another escalator, they arrived at the third floor. The hallway was empty. Sanna ran towards the end of the hallway and pushed open the door.
They were greeted with students casually seating in a gallery. The students were all looking down on the ground floor. Sanna led them on the front, and Yule could see below that there was a queue of students. They were patiently standing while a single student stood on an elevated platform.
"They are all 12 years old. Some of them hope to be a slayer one day." Sanna explained.
"But why are they here? Is this some kind of welcoming ceremony?" Yule asked.
"Just watch."
"Ram Park!" Somebody announced on the ground.
The boy in front of the line stepped forward to the elevated platform. Yule thought that the boy looks nervous.
Then a green-haired male Engkanto marched toward the boy. Yule couldn't identify if he was wearing a glamour or not. But this Engkanto was also wearing a white military-like uniform. He shouted some inaudible orders and holographic screens started appearing around him.
The Engkanto placed his palm on the screen in front of him. Then, a small light emerged out of thin air. The light subsided and a floating shard floating in the was left. 
"You may summon it now," the Engkanto ordered to the boy.
Ram Park nodded at him, then cleared his throat."I-I, Ram Park, summon you!" 
The shard started glowing, and the crowd above were all on the edge of their seat, waiting for the shard and the boy to bond.
Then, the shard broke. 
It broke into tiny pieces falling to the ground. 
The crowd shook their heads in disappointment, while Sanna just clicked her tongue.
The boy was shocked and a look of disappointment drawn on his face. He was escorted out by two male high school students.
"This is a summoning and recruitment ceremony," Yule announced to Sanna. She just nodded at him and waited for the next candidate in line.
The next candidate failed to summon and bonded with the shard. And the next one failed also. The crowd started to express their disappointment with the turnaround of this ceremony after ten candidates failed to summon from the shard. 
The male Engkanto supervising the ceremony was also getting bothered with the outcome. Then a small girl with brown pony-tailed hair stepped on the platform. This made Yule froze. 
The girl had some resemblance to her younger sister. Her sister loves to arrange her hair in a ponytail style. This made him homesick also. Are they worried sick about me? he thought. 
"Candice Rodriguez, you may start the summoning," the male Engkanto announced. This made Yule returned his focus to the young girl below.
The girl swallowed a deep breath and shouted, "I, Candice Rodriguez, summon you!"
The shard in front of her started glowing brightly and a huge wave of air was released around it. Candice and the people on the ground covered their faces. Then, a magic circle appeared on the ground where Candice was standing.
The crowd started rising from their seats, eagerly waiting for the next turn of events.
Candice didn't know what to do next. She looked at the male Engkanto about to ask him what she should do next when someone shouted. That person was pointing his finger above.
People immediately looked above, and all of them gasped on what they saw.
Another magic circle appeared. 
It was floating in the air near the ceiling. 
"This shouldn't happen," Sanna said. "When a candidate summoned a mythical being, it just materialized in front of that person. I never encountered this kind of materialization."
Yule looked at the helpless girl on the ground. Her mouth was hanging open and staring above at the magic circle she summoned.
The magic circle started spinning, and something was coming out from it. A creature covered by a light jumped in the air and landed on the ground facing Candice.
The light started to disperse and a black feline creature appeared. It had the same size and physique as a black panther. The feline creature was looking at Candice with its glowing yellow eyes. The creature started prowling around the girl. Candice noticed that the black feline creature was wearing a golden necklace around its neck.
The male Engkanto almost fell on his back when a word appeared on his screen. 
"It's Bastet!" He revealed.
The crowd gasped at the revelation of the Engkanto. Bastet roamed her yellow eyes around the room and looked back again at Candice. The feline goddess leaped looking like she was about to attack the girl, but when the feline goddess was on the air, it changed to a small light and dived to Candice's chest.
The room was filled with utter silence. Everyone was still shocked that a goddess was summoned in this room.
"So Yule, this is the part that you skipped as a slayer," Sanna said jokingly.

When asked to be a hero what would be your response? Of course it's that you're not hero material! Even if it was to save an alternate earth in ruins overrun by gigantic monsters, how can one more human make a change? 
Well, that won't matter much when Yule is forced to protect a world that isn't his.

Beckoned by a girl draped in violet clothes Yule's everyday life becomes flipped when he is suddenly transported to the other Earth. One where humanity is no longer the top predator, one where they are the hunted, one where Yule meets Sanna. A fierce warrior on the back of a mighty white stag, Yule's journey starts with that fateful meeting.

Will he be able to survive, much less save the other Earth?

Confirming that, Lefiya agreed to his idea, Ethan gave her an encouraging smile as the latter, stared at the sign of the Inn as she could still feel very embarrassed, but, before she even realized it, she was reading again and again the name of the latter until she muttered

"The Frozen.. Lychee Inn"

Hearing these words, he couldn't help but think about the name of the Inn for a moment, but, that didn't last long as he didn't want to let her think about it too much, now that they were so close...

"..Let's just enter.."

Saying these words, Ethan took her hand in his before he decided to hurry. This, led Lefiya to leap in surprise before understanding what was happening, and this, led her face to become even redder than before as, after a few seconds, he was already at the entrance of the Inn.

The first thing he noticed was that a young girl, about 10 years old, was cleaning a shelf before the latter noticed the presence of two new customers.

This, brought her eyes to widen as she immediately turned around before shouting

"Dad, there are customers..a couple!!"

The way she defined them led Ethan to have a wide smile on his face while, without hesitation, he decided to tighten the grip that held Lefiya's hand, as if at any time, the latter could decide to run away in embarrassment.


Obviously, Lefiya, had thought of running away after hearing the little girl's words, but, Ethan's firm grip, led her to look down while, with the hand she had not occupied, she brought it close to the heart, almost as if to try to calm the heartbeat that, seemed not to want to slow down in any way...


While this was going on between the two, the girl's father left the kitchen before confirming that, it was indeed as the latter had said, and this, brought the dad to give her daughter a wide smile as he glanced at the 'customers' to indirectly ask them if he could have a moment as Ethan, replied shaking his head with a smile.

With the confirmation that he could have time with her daughter, the dad placed a hand on her head as he added

"You did a very good job, Aya..."

By heavily patting her, Aya felt really happy that his dad was praising her as her tail started wagging before he decided to return to important matters as he told his daughter to go help her mom in the kitchen...

Seeing the cute, little girl, running towards a door, Ethan smiled while the dad returned his smile with one of his own as, after approaching the two, he stretched out his hand towards him..

Releasing Lefiya's hand for a moment, Ethan reached out for the person's hand as the latter immediately added

"..It's a pleasure to have you here at the Frozen Lychee Inn, my name is Kimzeeshraa Michi. I'm sorry if I made you wait.."

Hearing this, Ethan shook the hand he had free as he, could only let the two enjoy their small moment, as it was only natural to do so..

"You don't have to worry, your daughter needs to be pampered when she does something good, so I don't mind waiting..."

Even though Ethan wanted to mention his name, he couldn't help but wonder how he should call him as, Kimzeeshra-san seemed too long, but, as if the latter could read his mind, he immediately added

"By the way, everyone calls me Kim, so, you should do that as well..."

Understanding, he saw Kim release his hand as he decided to start talking about business already.

"...Talking about important matters, I guess you need a room for you and your girlfriend to stay in?"

These words, brought Ethan to chuckle as he immediately took Lefiya's hand again in his own while she just looked away, again embarrassed for the way he called them while in her mind, she was wondering if they acutally looked like two people in a relationship...but, she decided to think about it at a later date as she knew it was impossible for her to escape this situation, and this, led her face to become as red as always..

"..Yes, we need a room for us, but, we won't remain for long. Obviously, I'll pay for the full day and night.."

The fact that Kim seemed so nice and friendly, led Ethan to tell him the truth in a naked and raw way, and this, led him to have a smile on his face while he turned his face to look at the girl who was next to him

"I'll just warn you that walls don't cover very loud sounds, so if I were you, I'd be careful about what I do..."

His words, were immediately understood by Lefiya as the latter felt as if she was dying in embarrassment as she immediately shook her head.

"W-We aren't going to..do that..!"

Deciding to reassure Kim, and Lefiya at the same time, Ethan nodded as, without hesitation, he added

"..We're not going to do anything like that, I can assure you, we just need some time alone.."

The fact he could hear the seriousness contained in his words, brought Kim to sigh as a small smile formed on his face before he looked away.

"..There's no need for you to specify anything, young lad. I was just trying to tease you a bit. From the fact you acted so kind to me, and decided to pay the whole day and night just for some time alone, I can understand that already..."

Turning to approach the shelf where his daughter was cleaning, Kim took a pen and a sheet as he added

"..You can use room 2-A, but, before that, I'll have to ask you for your ID.."

His words, led Ethan to bring his free hand in his pocket as, using his inventory, he took his ID out before giving it to Kim..

Seeing that everything was in check, and that he was legally residing in Orario, Kim noted the information, which would then be added in the register of activities of the Inn...

After this was done, he gave the ID back to Ethan, as well as the keys for the room.

"..You'll pay me only for the day, don't pay for the night as well.."

These words, brought Ethan to sigh as he didn't expect such a thing, but, he knew he didn't have too many valis to act like a rich person...

"I see, thanks, Kim"

Hearing this, brought Kim to shake his head as he sat on the chair next to the shelf before waving his hand to make him understand it was fine before Ethan placed the valis on the shelf.

"Ah, the room is on the right. Once you turn around, follow the hallway straight to the end. At the end of it, you'll find the room I assigned you"

Nodding in understanding, Ethan tightened the grip on Lefiya's hand as he quickly decided to heade in the room while Kim just sighed...

'So, his name is Ethan huh..I'll remember it..'

Although, it wasn't so strange for a couple to want a single room just for a short time, Kim could see that, unlike the other young lads who decided to stay in his Inn, the two of them seemed very different, as if the thing they had to talk about was so important that even the girl, albeit embarrassed, had decided to follow him..

After following Kim's instructions, Ethan opened his room's door as, he could immediately see that there was a large bed, enough for two people, at the right, while at the left, there was a desk, with a chair next to it..

'It's simple, but I like it..'

Saying so in his mind, he saw Lefiya slowly entering as he couldn't help but add

"..Lefiya, it's not the first time we're in a room alone, don't panic now.."

At this, she turned her head to look at him as she saw that he closed the door.

"..Y-Yes..I know.."

Ethan's words, were surprisingly able to lighten Lefiya's mind, but, that was certainly not enough to stop her worries, and that's because, she felt she didn't know where to start the conversation.


Seeing her as she was nervously rubbing her hands, Ethan realized that she was really stressed and, she didn't know how to start the conversation, and this, brought him to sit on the bed as he decided to be the one to start, but, this wasn't the only thing he wanted to do. His  actual goal, was to make her slow down a bit, and, there was no better way, if not by teasing her..

"..By the way, I want to add, regarding the conversation we had yesterday, that I already said what I personally feel for you. I don't mind starting again by telling you that I love you, but it's for you to decide..."

His words, made her face, that was already red, become even redder as she could immediately understand he was teasing her, but, instead of arguing, or telling him to stop, she clenched her hands in fists as she looked down..

"Could you r-repeat it.. again.."

The fact that she had begun speaking in a very low tone of voice, led Ethan to sigh in his mind as he elaborated her answer and, once he understood what she really wanted, he could only smile at her naturally.

"..Yes, Lefiya, I love you"

Although, for Lefiya, the concept of love was something still not perfectly understood, she could feel it, she could feel that her feelings, and her mind, had lost a beat, again, when Ethan had clearly told her that he loved her. And, right now, even though that feeling may not have been 100%  of pure love, it didn't seem as relevant to her as it was a few seconds ago, as if the words Ethan had just spoken were the chant she needed to feel free to speak with her feelings in hand..

"..If I.. am the person you love..start treating me as such.."

Although, in her mind, Lefiya wanted to beat herself up for the way she expressed her feelings, for Ethan instead, there was a small moment where he was surprised by the way she was 'blatantly' stating it, but, in the end, her words were only the confirmation he needed.

"I'll start doing so..don't worry..."

By saying these words, Ethan decided to raise from the bed as he immediately approached her before wrapping his hands around her back.

"..From now on... we are officially a couple. You can't regret this action, no matter how much embarrassed you'll feel later.."

The fact he could feel she was still feeling nervous, brought Ethan to use his [Boost Magic] to raise the temperature of his hands as, he decided to take a mental note to find a way to help Lefiya release the stress and the nervousness she had..

Thinking about his words for a moment, Lefiya could feel the warm Ethan's hands emitted passing through her back as she instinctively brought her head down so that he wouldn't have been able to see what kind of face she was making...

Milky Way Galaxy, planet Earth.
 
A thick blanket of dark clouds had shadowed the sun, and an equally eerie forest had covered the land. The occasional roaring of thunders, the whistling of winds, the rustling of leaves, and the distant howling of animals made this evening bleaker than the darkest of nights.
 
In this barren and forsaken land, stood a small red house near the forest outskirts. It was made of small red stones and its only door was full of glaring holes. Sound of rhythmic footsteps could be heard as six armed men, dressed in camouflage clothing, patrolled the perimeter of this house. The four brown armored jeeps parked some distance away suggested more people, and that they were not here to stay.

"NOOOOOOO!" came a loud scream from inside the house, but with a light thud, silence prevailed once more.

The rotten door slid open with a creaking noise and three men walked out whilst talking among themselves.
 
One was obese with his stomach bulging out of his white shirt, one was thin and his red shirt would flail with the wind. The last one donned glasses and had worn tight fitting shirt, showcasing the outline of a muscular physique. All three men had black hair and brown eyes with reddish white skin.
 
"What a waste of all this effort! Even with his fiancé as hostage, we couldn't get anything," spoke the obese man.
 
"Maybe so, but at least we have eliminated a potential threat. With his death, their nuclear program will stop before completion," said the thin man.
 
The man with glasses started laughing, a laughter with sinister undertones. "It was thrilling. I haven't let myself loose in a long time. The shearing of flesh off that beautiful body of his fiancé as she held back her screams...And feeding it to the dogs right in front of them. Hahaha…" But the laughter stopped immediately. "What a pity though. I wanted to do more."
 
The three men turned toward the parked jeeps, and the six armed men swiftly entered the house to clean it up and destroy all the traces of this event.
 
While everyone was getting ready to leave, the blackness of space immediately outside the Earth's atmosphere was ripped apart like the parting of a dark black curtain, and a humanoid figure walked out.
 
This figure stood tall, and was dressed in a loose green robe. With shoulder length red hair tied in a small ponytail, red piercing eyes, light-red arid skin and a physique similar to men athletes on Earth, his mere presence had suppressed everything around him. "40 years for only one day, huh?" he muttered to himself and looked down towards the blue planet.

His gaze penetrated right through all the layers of clouds, and landed directly on that small red house. The strangest of things happened as a white mist started to rise from this house. It flew towards the figure in space and, immediately after, a red sparkling mist also rose up from the house. The red mist closely followed behind the white mist. None of the men nearby noticed this sudden change. Perhaps no one in this whole solar system could see this, except for the humanoid figure itself.
 
He lifted up his right hand and the white mist was attracted into his palm, swirling there peacefully. The red sparkling mist directly burrowed itself into his glabella, and he closed his eyes as if to comprehend something from that red sparkling mist. 
 
The figure finally opened his eyes and a tear trickled down his cheek. His right eye had turned into a glossy bright green color, and a flickering green flame could be seen in its pupil.
 
The loose green robe started to flap without any wind, and as he looked down toward the men entering jeeps, he spoke tersely, "Vanish!" 

With the end of this word; the red house, the people and the armored jeeps, all were engulfed in a bright green flame. 

The flame didn't seem to carry any heat and before any voices or shouts could be heard, everything disappeared along with the flame. There was no red house, there were no jeeps, there were no people and not even ashes could be found. As if, except this ghostly environment, nothing ever existed there.
 
The figure then turned to the swirling white mist. A mirthless smile appeared on his face and his eyes, with right one back to red, reflected guilt and care. He slightly contracted the palm and the white mist turned into a sparkling crystal. The figure of a woman could be seen within the crystal, curled together and sleeping peacefully. It was impossible to make out her looks and features, but the green robed figure seemed to know who exactly she was.
 
"You are coming with me," he whispered as if not to disturb the woman sleeping inside the crystal, and turned to once again look towards Earth. 

"By my status of 4th Elder of the Samsara Court, I hereby restrict the reincarnation of souls from this globe. From this moment forth, no souls from here shall reincarnate in any other place in this universe. All of them shall experience their destined samsara in this same globe. And no soul from any other place in this universe shall reincarnate on this globe," rang a cold voice in the vacuum of space.

His green robe started to flap and the color of his right eye once again changed to glossy bright green. A spherical screen, light green in color, appeared around the figure and started to expand outward to cover the entire solar system. Not even a few breaths passed before everything was covered in green. This green screen only had one function: to never allow any soul to enter or leave this solar system, for reincarnation or otherwise.
 
As the screen covered the Sun and all the eight planets, he muttered to himself, "This is her native place and knowing her, she would feel disheartened about this punishment." He looked towards the women in crystal and his mouth curved into a genial smile. "I shall leave them a way out." 

He thought of something for a moment and declared toward the white crystal, "Not only a way out but an advantage too." He took a step forward and simply vanished.
 
All of this happened right outside Earth and a big screen had covered the solar system, but no one in the entire galaxy noticed anything different.

Fifteen years later, a boy was born in a small village in India, and was named Anush by his grandfather. Anush didn't open his eyes for fifteen days after birth, making the whole family jittery, but he eventually saw the light. 

More than a year passed when the family realized that the boy still couldn't walk. But much to the relief of everyone, Anush started crawling and finally took his first step at the age of one and half years.

When he grew up to be three years old, Anush was sent to a local school for primary education. Clad in a white shirt and blue shorts, short black hair, dark brown eyes and light brown skin, he was the poster boy for school going kids. 

The nurturing standards of his household were very conservative, and more often than not, he would be barred from the simplest of things a child enjoys.

"Anush, don't sit on the swings." And he would change his place as directed.

"Anush, don't drink water too fast." And he would slow down his gulps.

"Anush, play less and study more." And he would rarely go out for sports.

"Anush, never talk back to the elders." And he would never argue with his parents even if they were in wrong.
"Anush, you can not watch movies." And he would grow up to never see a film at home. Or even in a cinema for that matter.

With all such strict directions, Anush grew up to be an obedient but dull son, though the obedience was a result of his timidness towards his parents. But these directives also helped him in some ways, as Anush became more focused on studies and would always be the top of his class.  As he grew older, Anush developed the habit of reading books and even though there were no siblings, he didn't feel alone with all knowledge contained within. 

But this also started to foster a more logical and independent mentality, a mentality which would eventually see Anush crave for freedom and stand up to his parents' illogical rules.

Around 10 years of age, he came across the wonderful art of meditation and was thoroughly enchanted. The idea of something intangible like a soul and to be able to visualize this soul as a wick of white flame got him fascinated. Since then, he made it a habit to meditate every morning and night, hoping to achieve something special. With time, although he couldn't feel any soul but during meditation, there would always be a strange heavy feeling at center of his forehead. His mind would be reinvigorated after every such session.
 
Anush later came to know that everybody feels the same and lost all enthusiasm. Being able to sense the strange heaviness during meditation made him feel special and extraordinary, but the reality shattered this fantasy. He still kept the habit of meditating every morning and night since his mind would always be energized and calm afterward.
 
With the passage of years, Anush developed new hobbies. He was still interested in reading and meditation, but now he also started practicing Mixed Martial Arts. This came from the influence of watching action cartoons. Being able to physically dominate everyone around him was what he wanted to achieve. After all, now Anush had entered puberty and the hormones were starting to show their wonders. 

The MMA training was painful, and filled with light injuries every now and then, but it eventually gave him what he wanted. A strong, flexible and toned body that could win any of his friends in action. Practicing MMA also became a regular part of his life alongside meditation.

There was a peculiar trait about Anush's character that led him to maintain these hobbies throughout his life. Normally, he couldn't be bothered to be consistent with things he was supposed to do. But the things that got his heart racing, activities that stirred his mind, he would always stick with those. MMA and meditation were two such activities.
 
At the age of 15, for the first time ever did Anush understand what his friends meant by a crush. He met a girl one year senior than him. She had just enrolled in the class beside his and he couldn't take his eyes off her. Dressed in a light yellow shirt and brown checkered skirt, shoulder length black hair, big dark eyes and pale skin, this sudden attack of beauty and somewhat husky voice made him light-hearted. His world changed as hormones came rushing straight into his brain. Books seemed not so important any more. Class notes didn't matter anymore, and no problem couldn't be solved with just a glimpse of her beautiful smile.
 
These feelings grew intense with time and he started to like her more and more. Alas! Given the familial environment he was raised in, coupled with the fear of his father, ensured that he could never gather enough courage to confess. One year later, Anush moved to another school and everything seemed to die down. Until one of his friends stirred the hornet's nest, and told the girl about Anush's feelings. But as fate would have it, the girl already had a boyfriend, and so the first crush ended in an unrequited love.
 
From here on out, Anush decided to keep himself in check whenever a girl would start to affect him emotionally. 

It was around the time when he was 17 that he came across a fascinating concept, the concept of Astral Projection. It was unique, intriguing and absurd at the same time. To be able to project one's astral body outside the physical body and travel around without any restrictions, to fly all over the world. Just the thought of it gave him goosebumps and once again, Anush adopted a new habit. 

He would practice Astral Projection every night before sleep and he kept at it with zeal. But even after a month, there were no visible effects. Even still, since this practice helped in a healthy and deep sleep, he permanently replaced his night meditation with Astral Projection practice. 

Very soon, Anush enrolled in college and a new chapter of his unfurled. New environment, new people and new goals got him thrilled. But he calmed down after coming face to face with the hard reality that not everything was as stimulating as it appeared on the surface. He distanced himself from college lecture system and started studying on his own. 

This led him to discover the in-depth knowledge of various theories about life and our universe. Concepts of Big Bang, Relativity, Space-time curvature, Gravity and Black holes, Evolution etc. would fire up his brain cells, and he would often wonder about the mysteries of this world.

"How did the universe really begin?"

"Can something really come out of nothing?"

"What other forms of life forms are out there?"

"Will everything end in a heat death or a big crunch?"


Wondering about such questions, Anush would find himself studying these topics more than he intended. But even with all this reading and work, he could still keep up with his major, Mathematics. Perhaps it was because of the meditation he had been doing for years. He hadn't turned into an extraordinary genius, but his mental stamina and concentration could handle the load.

Life went on smoothly with small hiccups along the way. Anush kept on with his regular habits, gaining immense knowledge and a strong body with time. During the third year of college, his martial arts skill reached a point that not even the college instructor could beat him. He ended up winning North Indian Inter College MMA competition, but this tournament left him with a serious knee injury. Under the urging of his worried mother, Anush decided not to take part in any more competitions but still continue to practice MMA. 

Little did he know that his decision to continue practicing martial arts alongside meditation and Astral Projection would one day not only save his friends' lives but also open the door to a brand-new world. A boundless world humanity couldn't even begin to imagine.

Being born in a middle class family in India, Anush grew up to be just like any other Indian. Overcoming different challenges, he pursued his aspirations of exploring the wonders of life. But fate propelled him onto a completely different journey.

A journey that will see him uncover the truth of his death,

A journey that will bring him love, hate, friendship and betrayal,

A journey that will open the door to secrets no one was privy to,

A journey that will compel Anush to conquer Endless Samsara  and grasp Limitless Nihility.

I attend a university and work part-time. So I won't be able to get any chapters out on weekdays. Most of the chapters (3 approx.) for a particular week will be published during that weekend.

Following Lucien's suggestion, after writing down "electromagnetism" on the front page of the paper, Dieppe had submitted it to Arcana Review Board. It was said that every groundbreaking finding would receive the feedback from the true world, so he wondered when that would happen to him. Perhaps he had to wait until an experiment that supported his finding was available…
In his understanding, the broad application of wave–particle duality was a breakthrough close to general theory of relativity and new alchemy in terms of significance, and as important as the discovery of the periodic table of elements, so the feedback should occur. However, he also understood that without a solid experiment, he would not even believe in it himself. Therefore, the feedback from the true world had not arrived yet.
"Electromagnetism. To Mr. Marcus and Mr. Yana," said the cold, metal-like voice of an alchemical life. 
The paper had been sent to the two authorities in the school of electromagnetism. Since it was a paper developed by a high-ranking arcanist, it wasn't sent to their students or editors, but directly to their desks. After they finished their own studies, they finally had the time to pick the paper up.
Marcus looked quite young despite the fact that he was already a high-ranking sorcerer. He had bright red hair and always wore a pair of black gloves like those night watchers. He would not take the gloves off even when doing experiments or practicing magic spells.
"A Hypothesis Based on Light Quantum Theory and the Study…" Marcus read the title of the paper, frowning. His black velvet gloves gently striking the front page of the paper, Marcus was a bit confused and felt a bit reluctant to read further, as the discovery of light quantum had messed up his understanding of electromagnetic waves again. 
But he still opened it and took a few glances at it. After knowing the premises that the hypothesis was based on, an interested smile appeared on his face, "That's something…"
The paper was dozens of pages long, and the content was not tough for Marcus. It did not take him long to finish reading it.
"Electrons are waves? Interesting. Dieppe applying the duality to a brand new level… Good for him," Marcus grinned, as he could imagine how pissed the supporters of particle theory would be, but he soon released a sigh, "but it's still a hypothesis that is waiting for solid experiment proof. Who knows when such an experiment can come out…"
Honestly speaking, Marcus did not really believe in Dieppe's paper, although the paper did cater for his taste. After verifying the deduction process himself, Marcus wrote down. 
"Bold, amazing hypothesis. It's an adventurous attempt to approach the truth of the world and therefore is for certain very subversive. I'll give the paper these comments: Groundbreaking, extremely important, worth broad discussion, and universally-applied in terms of microscopic particles. However, as it remains to be a hypothesis based on deduction, I suggest that, for now, ten arcana credits and two hundred arcana points be given, and further award can be granted when a solid experiment is available."
Marcus did not give the paper the comment of being groundbreaking as the paper was from Lucien's wave–particle duality.
Finishing the writing, Marcus put the paper back in an envelope and started reading other papers. In his eyes, no matter how interesting the paper was and how well it catered to his taste, it was still unworthy of his major attention and time. Maybe in his spare time, he could give some thoughts to the possible experiment, but so far he had no clues at all. And there were still lots of important things waiting for him to do.
Meanwhile, in Yana Aamir's study, the short, brown-haired man was so amused that his back bent forward, "Electrons are waves? Good for Dieppe for his imagination. I bet Raventi had given him some good lessons!"
But he had to admit that the paper was indeed interesting, and he was happy to see how those particle theory supporters felt after reading the paper. In the future, if they kept mentioning Mr. Evans's light quantum theory, they could use this paper to fight back. But then he shook his head: The hypothesis was still waiting for experiment proof, and the experiment might not be able to come out in decades, or there simply was no such an experiment. If that was the case, the paper would be forever forgotten by history.
He had seen some bold hypotheses, especially after Lucien Evans's series of successive subversive findings. However, none of them could present any conclusive proof, and therefore, they remained to be bold hypotheses.
Yana had to restrain himself from giving the paper high comments. He finally put it down this way, "Interesting, genius imagination. It is the most inspiring paper that I have read so far this year, as it has broken the restraints from our old belief. However, without experiment proof, this innovative, extremely important, and universally-applied paper which is worthy of broad discussion still remains as a fancy. At this point, I will give it eight arcana credits and a hundred fifty arcana points. I hope that all arcanists can join for the experimentation."
Although he was saying that all arcanists should try to develop a valid experiment, Yana himself quickly turned to work on other things. Before he could finish all the tasks that had been piling up, Yana was very unlikely to verify the hypothesis.
The result soon returned to Dieppe. He was not surprised by the poor, nine-credit award. If it had been Dieppe himself reviewing the paper, he might just give one or two credits as the award. Obviously, the two board members loved his hypothesis.
Then Dieppe started thinking which journal he should send his paper to, Electromagnetism? Light-darkness? Or Common Arcana? Dieppe knew that there was no way that he could publish his paper on Arcana and Magic, as in this paper there was only a hypothesis. As for Element, the editor would definitely tear his paper into pieces if he dared to send it.
When he was thinking, his servant came in and brought him an invitation letter for contribution.
It was from Nature.
Because of the profound influence of general theory of relativity, in the last half year, the subscription volume had also been increasing rapidly. Now it had been the most authoritative in math, ranking the same level with Element and Astrology, and therefore it was a very good option for the paper. 
Dieppe instantly accepted the invitation, and one of the reasons was that Mr. Lucien Evans was this journal's honor editor. It seemed that the journal was trying to gain some influence outside of the realm of mathematics to become a comprehensive journal like Arcana and Magic.

Marcus and Yana let the news out on purpose. Therefore, within two weeks, some well-informed arcanists had known that there was such a paper available and bought it.
Staring at the paper in front of him, Larry felt a bit amused. After reading through it, he felt that he was in a dream. He wondered if it was because Dieppe wanted to scare people that he threw at people such a bold and nonsense hypothesis.
Gaston was quite close to Raventi, and therefore, Larry also knew Dieppe relatively well. He grinned and shook his head, and then put aside the paper. 
In the Department of Battle Sorcerer, sitting in his armchair, Jurisian was also amused by the paper. He kept grinning that the muscles in his face even felt a bit sore. Jurisian did not mind the paper, and in fact, he liked the hypothesis. However, if the paper was proved, a new round of head-explosion would surely ensue, just like what happened after the hypothesis of light quanta was confirmed. However, this time they did not have another three years to get prepared.
Jurisian put aside the paper. He would try to design an experiment when he got time.
In Atom Institution, Sprint was also reading Dieppe's paper. His status had been improved a lot since Lucien Evans joined the Highest Council. He disapproved of the paper since he did not believe that this subversive hypothesis would come true at all. After all, there was only one Lucien Evans, and not everyone could make overturning but also reasonable hypotheses.
In the students' eyes, the paper was a joke. They were those who first knew of the existence of electrons, and also those who had done most of the experiments on electrons. All the experiment results had shown the particle property of electrons already. When the hypothesis of light quantum was first put forward, it still more or less made the slightest amount of sense because of Ether theory, but this time, it was totally different.
"Nothing supports it." Heidi agreed.
Annick tried to say something, but he also felt that the hypothesis was indeed ridiculous. So he nodded like the other students. But he finally added, 
"I mean… If we've got time, we might still want to work on designing an experiment magic circle based on the electron wavelength given in the paper to see if there is any diffraction or interference. Only experiments explain everything."
Although Sprint disliked this crazy hypothesis, as Lucien's student, his attitude remained cautious, "Yes, we can deny it using an experiment. But so far there's nothing like this matching the given wavelength."
"Doesn't do any harm to give it a try. It's practice." Heidi grinned.
The students had reached the agreement, and they had no intention of telling this to their teacher. In their eyes, the paper did not deserve too much attention, not to mention their teacher's attention.
However, when the grand arcanists finished reading the paper from Dieppe, they were much more alert and worried than ordinary arcanists, since the hypothesis did stem from light quantum hypothesis, and therefore, it could be possibly correct, but due to the limitation on current research methods, they could only try to improve some existing magic circles in their spare time. After all, they were too occupied by their own studies and arcana research.

The beginning of February had arrived, and Lucien had successfully constructed Vengeful Gaze within his soul.
As a member of Arcana Review Board, Marcus had the earliest access to all the latest journals for this month. But he would not read all of them, just simply Arcana, Magic, Electromagnetism, Astrology, Element, and Nature. As for the rest of them, he would first read the digests first to decide if he would dig in further.
Picking up Arcana, without surprise, Marcus saw the headline on the cover:
"Vol.2, 825, to praise the birth of general theory of relativity, a great theory put forward by Mr. Lucien Evans who leads us to the truth of gravity."
This was what an epoch-making arcana find deserved.
Flipping the page, the front page was Douglas' and Bergner's final review result and comments: 
"This is an epoch-making theory, which reveals it to us that the nature of gravity is curved space-time. Despite the complexity of the deduction, it is so well-conceived and rigorous that no errors exist. The calculation result based on the theory fits perfectly in the data of morning star precession when it approaches the perihelion and how time elapses faster on an artificial planet. Therefore, we can say it with confidence that the theory offers so far the closest description of the truth of gravity and thus it is one of the most significant findings in the history of magic!"
"If my objectivity can be ignored here, I will give it the top honor. The general theory of relativity carries unmatched theoretical beauty and it will lead the development of arcana to a brand new level."
"The system of general relativity had led us into the most basic yet deeply-hidden nature of arcana, where the stunning truth of the world is partially revealed to us. I suggest thirty thousand arcana credits and eight hundred thousand arcana points be given to Mr. Evans for his relativity system!"
"It's a night of miracles. What happened at this very night will be remembered forever by the upcoming generations and they will picture and praise this very night using their biggest interest and most vivid words."
Marcus took a deep breath. He was slightly shocked by the reward but he also agreed that it was reasonable. The theoretical system of relativity was the most simplified and beautiful discovery in electromagnetism, and it solved the most difficult problem that had bothered arcanists generation after generation.
Marcus flipped through the pages. All the papers were on or about general theory of relativity. He then put the journal aside because he had to stay fully concentrated when reading general theory of relativity, so he was going to save it until later. The entire theory was still very difficult for him.
After reading Magic, Marcus picked up Nature. He wanted to read the papers on Evans Geometry and tensor analysis.
Taking a glance at the content page, Marcus saw a familiar title, A Hypothesis Based on Light Quantum Theory and the Study.
He slightly frowned, as he never expected that Nature would publish such a sheer hypothesis. He wondered if Dieppe had used any tricks to get the paper published.
Turning the page, Marcus was surprised to see the comment from the editor under the title of the paper, 
"…Maybe this paper is pulling up a corner of the curtain and showing us a small part of the truth…"
The contributing editor was Lucien Evans.
Marcus's hands suddenly felt numb. The journal dropped from his hands on the desk.
"… pulling up a corner of the curtain?"
Marcus repeated the comment in a low voice. He could not believe his eyes. Although Lucien Evans did not necessarily mean being always correct, such a comment from him was enough to make most arcanists look at this paper again and put more attention to it!


"A falling star has brought the chaos. The throne of fate has lost its master. The nonbeliever who walks in light and darkness will make his debut."
