The fluorescent light of the computer was shining upon Pi's face, and its clip-on glasses were glowing from the metal, made of an unknown material.
It lightly pressed on the keys one after another on the keyboard, out of fear of disturbing the other's rest. Since its typing speed couldn't keep up with the speed of its thinking, the progress of its writing had inevitably been slowed down. But it had no other choice. 
In the dead of night, even the fan sound from the laptop was particularly harsh. From time to time, Pi tilted its head to look around the bedroom and see if it had disturbed Zhang Zian or the other elves.
After Zhang Zian and Snowy Lionet finished their argument, silence returned to the room. Because of its night blindness, Richard, who had always been nosey, couldn't participate in their conversation. 
Old Time Tea always slept soundly, like it could stay asleep even if Mount Tai were to collapse over its head. 
Galaxy looked at Pi once and closed its eyes again, lying in the crib safely and covered by the soft moonlight.
Pi and Fina looked each other in the eyes but quickly looked away.
Fina, who had slept enough during the day, didn't feel drowsy at all in the evening, and its majestic green eyes were glancing around the room.
Famous was still awake. Turning and tossing restlessly on its blanket, it was still looking forward to the grand premiere of the movie. A small night light at its spot provided a little dim light for it. 
After arriving at the pet shop, Pi had gradually become accustomed to such evenings. Almost every night before going to sleep, a certain elfin, usually Snowy Lionet or Richard, would make a scene, as if it were some kind of ritual before sleeping. 
Pi tried to ignore Fina's awe-inspiring gaze and focused on the screen in front of it, thinking about the following storyline of its novel. 
After a while, the lower right corner of the screen indicated that it was 11 pm.
Pi suddenly felt relieved. Firstly, it had almost finished writing that day's chapters. And secondly, Fina's gaze was finally gone.
Snowy Lionet started to smack its lips. Old Time Tea snored from time to time. Famous kicked like it was having a nightmare, but it didn't wake up. 
From this time on, the night had truly overtaken the pet shop.

Old Time Tea's snoring paused a little bit and resumed, while the sleep of other elves seemed not to have been affected.
Pi felt relieved. Finally, it could go to sleep, and it wished it could at least have sweet dreams. 
However, reality was not what it expected.

On the other hand, he wanted to go to sleep only after Pi had fallen asleep. When he heard that the sound of the computer fan disappeared, he wanted to go to sleep, but his drowsiness had already vanished. After staying in bed for a while, he picked up his cell phone.

"Shield me from attacks when I signaled you. Also, hide beneath the tall trees. Since you're an earth element user, you can blend in within the surroundings. Anyway, can you do an earth shield?" Luna said.

Ryle nodded. "But how will you signal?" he asked.

He just couldn't follow Luna's thoughts more than Akiro's ever since she appeared in his mansion. 

"You'll see it soon. Be conscious of your surroundings and wait for my signals," she said.

"Let's go," Luna continued.

Ryle found himself being pulled by Luna into the garden and led him to the left side that's covered with tall trees and let him hide beneath one and said that he should never leave that area.

She ran through the snowy pavement and Lady Liliana followed but no matter how fast she is, Luna was always several steps ahead. Lady Liliana gritted her teeth and two swords appeared within her hands. It was swiftly enveloped by flames which she swung in front of Luna.

A surging fire appeared mid-air after Lady Liliana swung her sword.

Nonetheless, Luna anticipated it to happen. With her left hand on her skirt's pocket, she tightly held the pocket watch which time froze in a blink of an eye. 

"Ryle, the earth shield!" Luna shouted. 

Although she forgot that Ryle isn't moving too so she ran toward him and touched him quickly. 

"L-luna!" Ryle said.

"Stop chattering, summon an earth shield there," Luna said.

Ryle faced where she pointed to and his eyes widened one more time after seeing how the attack and Lady Liliana were left unmoving at all!

'Right! It's time powers. What a monster!' Ryle thought. 

He didn't even saw Akiro fight in such a way. She's clearly using him as a lowly soldier. Ryle quickly raised his hand and summoned an earth wall enough to shield from the raging fire.

Then he saw Luna run through the wall which disappeared after the fire was dissipated. He saw how Lady Liliana was shocked by how Luna quickly shielded her attack through a thick earth wall.

'So she wanted her to think that she's the one who summoned the earth shield!' Ryle thought.

Then Luna alternated between swiftly dodging Lady Liliana's domineering attack and using his shield attack. With his view, it's clearly seen that Luna's indeed playing with the other! 

He also couldn't believe how she's taking advantage of that powers by having Lady Liliana believe that Luna's too fast.

It didn't last long when Lady Liliana went out of energy. Ryle saw how Miss Luna was instantly sitting at the terrace, reading a book and the other's female Knight went running and saw how weakly looking was her master is.

"W-what happened Lady Liliana?" she asked.

Her master said not to follow her earlier but she felt something was wrong so she came finding her.

"Lady Luna, what happened here?" the Knight asked.

Although her words sounded nice, Luna saw how her brows almost met and stood with a domineering aura.

She grinned and swiftly went toward her. 

The latter had her eyes widened. Such movement was a rare occurrence. It just means that the lady in front of her was far stronger than her which was to be expected in his mansion.

"Don't. Let's go inside. We still have to prepare before leaving," Lady Liliana said.

"Pardon for my intrusion," she continued, facing Luna. 

They soon left her alone. After several minutes, Ryle decided to show up. He's filled with mix emotions and didn't know if he'd be happy by the commotion that Miss Luna had done

"It's fun isn't it?" Luna asked.

Ryle ended up laughing awkwardly. "Just don't do that to me okay, Lady Luna?" Ryle said.

He soon left her before she would really do the same thing.

A human girl on Earth, living her life as a student though not like any other people for she usually kept herself without any companions and drowned herself in the huge mountain of books. 

For Luna, her life was not even worth telling until fate chose to twist her life a little bit, which was an underestimation. Because one unlucky day, she suddenly found herself in a mysterious world that she shouldn't have known.


"Where are you taking me?" - Luna

The library was an old three-story building that use to be a factory. It was donated over fifty years ago. And was one of the older building in the area. It had been updated in the last few years with new walls, stairs, and wiring. However, they had kept the worn wood floors and it still had a cool, well-used and comfortable feel to it.

She walked over to the front counter where the librarian, Mrs. Chen, sat working on the computer.

"Hello, Lina. I heard you finally got assigned independent study. It took those kooks up in the English department long enough, heh?"

"You're telling me. I didn't know how many more of those idiots I could take without counseling." She thought about how that could be taken for a moment. "The students, that is, Mrs. Chen."

"Sure. Your class time doesn't start until tomorrow, so I assume you're here for your book."

"It finally came in?!"

She smiled and reached beneath the counter.

"Just this morning. Blood by GRAY."She shook her head but handed her the book. "Sometimes I wonder if I should be worried about you."

Lina laugh. The game and the book was sort of along the same vane but different. The book focuses more on how one could tell if you could make potions in real life. That is if you had blood. The author of the book offer list and guilds on taking a potion from a game and make money.

"Shoo, now," she said, waving her hands. "You're terrible."

She took the book and walked to the back corner of the room where the wide oak stairs led up to the second floor and her special reading spot. She ran her hand up the smooth banister as she walked up, loving the feel of the cool wood. The library had always been a quiet spot she had used to think and relax since she had come to the college three years ago. She used it to get away from all of the whispers and names.

At the top of the stairs, she walked through the maze of books to a dimly lit far corner. The shelves formed a natural hallway that prevented anyone from seeing the corner unless they actually walked through. It held a large beige chair big enough for two and a standing light next to it. She never worried about anyone being there because the idiots on campus barely walked through the reference books on the first floor, let alone the second floor where most of the romance, fiction, mystery, horror, fantasy, and science fiction books were held.

She set her bag on the floor beside the chair and plopped down, pulling her legs up under her. She didn't need the light yet, so she opened her new book and began reading.

Leonard finally getting home and sat down to rest after exerting a bit of energy he took another swig or wine before laying on his back and turning in on the Tv.
"SHOCKING NEWS"
"Mayan ruins have uncovered an book now known as the Necromonicon and is I'm the hand so the explorer Alert Ronald"
"He has currently taken over a city and turning it into a strong hold and the Justice League has currently been called to help with the situation, after multiple interactions no intentions have been made" 
"Damn! should I go cause some problems over there? maybe blow that damn dudes head right off"
"Hey Alex can you control something nearby that dude and ask who he is?"
And so Alex sends a voice clip through every single speaker within the cities and completely maxing out the volume levels.
"HEY DEAD DUDE WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?"
"WHICH BEING DARES TO YELL AT THE ALMIGHTY SCREAMING LICH" the Lich screams (Lol)
Shocked the Justice League immediately start moving into the city to see what was going on thinking that there was a fight. But the second they got in all the speakers changed to Bring Me to Life - Evanescence. And as the lyrics continued the Lich continually screamed louder and louder taking out the Justice League one by one either by knocking them out or expelling them out of the city through sheer sound waves.

Luckily Zatanna was on the scene within a second setting up numerous barriers and teleporting the Justice League out in the case of emergency and began her duel with the Lich. 
"Leonard claps"
"Damn they all got wiped out within a few seconds, Wait don't I still have a few teleportation coins?"
(A/N I don't remember I think he had around 2 left)
Checking his pocket again the quarter was still there with 2 teleportation's left
"Scary Undead dude named undead lich" he yelled and his room flashed white once and he disappeared
Popping up in the middle of the sky Leonard began screaming before his power activated and he began soaring the skies in the direction of the skeletal city as the News Channels now called it. As he flew over he found Zatanna in the middle of a fight with the Lich which was slowly pushing Zatanna back, so he dropped out of the sky and sat on the side of street just watching the fight, and as buildings after buildings around him got destroyed he kinda got tired so he pulled out his phone and started reading this book he found online called "while others cultivate, I use my unique leveling system to cultivate smut romances with their girlfriends". (Motivated Sloth gave me this I don't know who owns the book)

After several blasts of magical energy flew over his head and dropped a brick in his head he swore, but used his Phoenix Force to do it and blew both the Lich and Zatanna into a wall with the word "Bruh" and continued with a "They just got to the good part too!" 
The Lich stared at him "Such rich life energy with that I can resurrect"
Zatanna stares at him as well "what kinds of force was that?"
Leonard muttered back "that would be necrophilia and i'm not into girls in spandex"
"..."
He throws a fire ball at the Lich while it's stunned at his words, and the lich hastily brings up a shield only for the fireball to smash right threw it and send him into the air. Leonard then began a gaming of target practice with the Lich while still sitting down and sent the Lich bouncing back and fourth in the air. 
"Damn "Leonard grinned "this reminds me of pong"
Zatanna is still silent surprised over his usage of what looks to be a magic force, before finally registering the extreme levels of Magic being used upon the Lich. Slowly but surely the amount was being increased and all nearby building had already been destroyed.
"STOP your gonna kill him" she starts yelling at him
"Can you really kill the dead tho?" 
"Your magic is best described as holy the only way to kill the undead"
"So?"
"Then stop!"
"I'll consider it"
But shoots him into a building leaving only the skull of the Lich still there, as Leonard begins walking over the Lich constantly stammers out "No more, No more" 
"Ah just a little bit of pain for a person who knocked out a city, that ain't too much right? There all gonna be on hearing aids because of your scream"
Picking up the skull he begins to throw it in the air a few times just to catch right before it hits the ground and hands it over to Zatanna.
"Take it I don't want that damn skull near me, also you might want some ear plugs"
"Okay..." she stammers out
Then suddenly the flash runs over to him and points him out
"That's the dude who shot me"
"Ah fuck" Leonard curses
Before flying away into the clouds and as Superman begins to take chase of him, Leonard squeezes the coin again and vanishes in a light right back into his apartment.
"Gosh dang it my cloths are all dirty now"

"So, what genres do you enjoy reading the most?" He asked, while looking around the library, he seemed to be looking for something specific. 


     I was a little nervous to tell him what I liked reading. When the kids at my old school saw what I was reading all the time, I got made fun of a lot more. They thought it was stupid and nerdy. Wich is understandable, I was a weird girl. But it still hurt.


     "I-I know n-not many p-people do. B-but I l-love poetry." Malachi looked at me, his beautiful brown eyes glowing with excitement. 


I wonder why he is so excited. I had never seen him this excited before. But whatever it was I was happy to see him so excited.


     "Are you serious?" He asked, I could hear the excitement in his voice. 


     He led me through the library, seeming as though he was being timed. He was smiling the whole way through the library. I loved when he smiled, it made the room light up when he smiled. But I still didn't know why he was so happy.


     "Here we are. I have a secret to tell you." He said softly, as he leaned in to whisper in my ear. 


     I could hear the calming sound of his breathing. "I absolutely love poetry." He whispered. 


     As he stood up straight he smiled. "So, we can be weird together." I was so happy to know that we were very much the same. 


     "So, who is your favorite poet?" He asked, while looking through the books in the poetry section. 


     "I-I would have t-to say Araya Vanburen." I answered, looking to see if they had one of her pieces in the library. 


     "Hmm, I thought I had heard of everybody. Do you see any of her pieces here? I would love to hear some of her poetry." I looked and looked. 


     I was just about to give up when I saw it "Poems by Araya Vanburen." 


     "H-here it is" I said, as I slid the book gently out of its space. 


     "What's your favorite piece she has written?"  He asked, as I looked through the book trying to find the piece I so adored. 

 
     "M-my favorite piece would be "Why Do They Cry?" I said, as I searched through the book, looking for the piece I had named. 

 
     "They were made to see joy and happiness, yet all they see is pain and sorrow. They were made to see the beauty and love in God's creation, yet all they see is a dark and fallen world. I read, lost in the sad and hopeless feelings this piece shown. 

 
     You could almost hear the feeling of sadness and desperation in the author's voice. I had felt many of these feelings, I had felt a lot of this pain. But I had read this poem, and I knew that even though it seemed dark, sad and hopeless, hope was about to be declared. I continued reading softly and slowly. 


     "But one day, they will see love and beauty like never before. They will see the glory and honor come to the one who created them. When will they see all this? You may ask, and the answer is, when they are opened." with a sigh I finished reading and looked up at Malachi. 

 
     "I-I hope it w-wasn't too boring to you. I just r-really enjoy her w-work; and sometime g-get caught up in i-it." I said, as I put the book back in its space.  

 
     "No! It wasn't at all boring, it was beautiful. I've never seen anyone get so captivated by a poem. It must mean a lot to you." I nodded, as I watched Malachi take the book back out of its space and lead me to the checkout stand. 

 
     After he checked the book out, we joined Melanie at the table. 

 
     "Here Lamia, I thought you might like to read this book, it's really good I've read it about three times." Melanie said, as she handed me a book entitled "My Summer Luv by Lisa Jackson." 


     The cover was gold with a shadow of a man and a woman dancing. 

 
     "W-wow, it l-looks as if it would b-be good." I said, as I slide my palm against the cover; admiring its beauty. 

 
     "I'm so happy."

The Rangers rushed to the roof of Whiskey Hotel to light flares as otherwise it would mean the flattening of D.C.
Pushing through the russians and arriving at the roof and lighting their flares, waving them to get the attention of the incoming Jets. Finally the pilots took notice and waved off as the Rangers were finally victorious. Finally being able to clear the White house from any Russian forces still left. After eliminating all enemy forces the Rangers decided to look around but still be aware of their surroundings, Entering a library they looked around to see any interesting books to read as the EMP made all electronics unusable. One Ranger in particular Cpl Dunn found a interesting book to read as he was temporary done fighting, "We'll never was one for reading books but this one look pretty interesting." 
Reading the title of the book made him curious of the contents that lied in it. So he started reading a book about four heros, The Sword,Bow,Spear and lastly the shield but Dun didn't think the shield could be a great weapon.
"Hey Dun, What you reading there" Said a another Ranger with dark skin "Nothing much Sarge just a book about some heroes who get summoned to some other world to save the planet." he said as he turned to the next page 
"I hate the Princess she's such a bitch."
 "Well Dun what can you tell us from the book we wanna hear about the interesting adventure you've been having in your head." The other Rangers laughed "Well it's about four heroes the sword, Bow, Spear and Shield as they get sent into another world, where they are given their weapons as they go on their adventure they meet a princess she turns out to be a bitch but hardly anyone notices it though there are still pages left from the book but their empty even though it already went through all the heroes." 
Confused to why they would leave blank pages in a book "Might be a publishing error or something so wh..." Foley was cut off by the bright shine coming from the book. "Yo what kind of fucking book shines that bright is that some kind of new bible or some shit." One of the Rangers said surprised. "I have no idea what the hell is causing the huge light." Dropping the book all of the Rangers slowly fell unconscious.

Naofumis POV

Naofumi was just going along his day by heading to a library to look for a good Novel to read as he was browsing a book fell on him "Ow... that hurt" rubbing his head he looks at the book "The Weapons of the four saints." Reading the book he had gotten very interested in the book. Suddenly arriving at the Shield hero's chapter, he was surprised to see it was blank. Suddenly he starts to slowly pass out.

"Ow" Naofumi said as he slammed unto the floor and woke up, Confused to where he was he looked around and then noticed the shield 'What the hell' trying to pry it off but nothing happened. Looking at the others around him "We did it we summoned the Saints but who are the others nevermind o great heros please save our world." Suddenly the other heros spoke "Why should we help you after taking us from our world." "Are you going to reward us for our efforts" "What your answer is might turn us into your enemies." 'Wow they've already demanded respect and rewards' 
"Please you can negotiate with the king he will reward you all handsomely."
A brief moment of silence passed through the air as another voice spoke "First of all where the fuck are we and why are there some weird rove wearing fuckers surrounding us." "Dun shut the hell up and let me take care of everything." Foley spoke standing behind him were his other Rangers in total being 10 counting him 11. The 4 cardinal heros were surprised to see soldiers from their era with them. "Alright now that you're all silences I can speak, now its not good that you're already trying to negotiate with something you don't know anything about as well as a great way to make people mad at you." Foley said in a stern voice "but they summoned us from our world to fight for them without our consent." the bow hero spoke "Colonel take it away."
 foley spoke giving a chance for the colonel to speak. "You are right they took you without your proper consent so it is part of your problem but even though they did you're here now, Its best to not start making enemies early on son or else were all gonna be in trouble." Colonel Marshal said.
 "I guess your right." "Now please lead us to your king."
 'Wow now we have soldiers of our era on our side this is not what I expected.' Surprised to all that happened in a matter of seconds.

Climbing up the stairs the Bow hero spoke "Wow so we really are in another world." "Yea, we really are." the spear hero responded. "Wow it feels like one of those commercials for vacations" all the other heros looked at him "You've never been out of Japan" The bow hero said "This place has standard Mediterranean climate." the sword hero said.
Naofumi felt a bit embarrassed "Yea, yea sorry for my lack of knowledge and vocabulary." 
"Well people lets get a move on not much time if these people are in danger." Foley reminding them.

Arriving at the kings throne the king spoke "So you are the 4 Cardinal heros as well as your other companion, I am the King of Melromarc Aultcray Melromarc XXXII." The U.S. Rangers weren't amused as they looked at the king they know how kings can be, Cruel and unjust in a single second he can kill you because he can or you insult him. Who could blame them they were Americans they know the Dictatorship of Kings and Queens but they stood silent to listen. "Heros name yourselfs."
"I am Amaki Ren, Sixteen years old, High Schooler."
"I am Kitamura Motoyashu, Twenty one years old and a College student."
"Guess I'm next Kawasami Itsuki, Seventeen Years old and a High Schooler."
"I am Naofumi Iwatani, Twenty and in College."
"Alright we're next I am Colonel Marshal U.S. Rangers."
"Sgt Foley and Sgt Hirsh." "Cpl Dun and Cpl Hirsh." "Pvts Ramirez, Sandler, Blumel,Handler,Volker and Wade."

"Now then My country and all of the world are in danger of being destroyed."

Waves which come and if they aren't stopped they will destroy the world. Which is what the 4 Cardinal heros are for to thwart them as well as hour glasses that every country has in order to tell when the wave is coming. The 1st wave came before we were summoned the knights and Merchants fought it off but not without taking Major casualties. Which then the wave get harder as the more you progress through the wave of calamity. "We underestimated the destruction and strength of the wave, we realized that the only ones who can stop them are you the Cardinal Heros."
"You don't expect us to work for free do you." Ren spoke "No of course not once the waves are done with we will reward you handsomely." 

"Now check your statuses."
"Um what?"Naoufumi was Confused 
"Come on guys it should've been the first thing you see on the corner of your vision."
"Oh... yea, I see it" Naofumi said
"Now focus on it"
His status opened to reveal their levels, only to be lvl 1.
"Well guys we're heroes but not the 4 classes, were gunners." Pvt Ramirez said
"Ugh first we fight a war and now we have to deal with this come on I wanted to retire after all that." Dun said tiredly.
"So what is all this?." Naofumi asked
"This is status Magic in order to lvl up you have to set of on an adventure to upgrade your weapons."
"My shield isn't even considered a weapon."
"I guess we should all form a party."
"You will all have to recruit and travel separately" the old man said.
"Why is that " Itsuki said with curiosity.
"It is said that the weapons repel themselves by nature if you work together it hinders their ability to develop."
"So it is true" Naofumi said looking at the message in front the message appears in front of all 4 heros except the Rangers.
"Uh does this go for us because I don't see any damn message." Dun asked in curiosity.
"I'm guessing no since we might be some kind of exception hero or something." said Sandler.
"The sun is about to set so you heros should get some rest, We shall gather the best heros for you tomorrow."
A woman came forward and spoke "Please follow me to your room."

"Wow so this is how it feels to be treated as a legendary hero, that woman who led us was also hot." Motoyashu said in great happiness

"Wow isn't this like a game or something" Naofumi said.
"You mean it is a game an Online game." Motoyashu said
"What are you talking about its a Console game"
"You're wrong, it's a VRMMO."
"Alright well we have to start somewhere." Motoyashu said
"Who was the guy in the thousand Yen bill 1.. 2.."
4 different responses came out and now they  had to talk about their worlds respective history.
"Guess we're not just from different era Japan's but whole entire alternative Universe Japans." Naofumi said.
"What about you guys" Motyashu said a bit curious about their world. 
Foley looked at them and spoke "Not a pretty one if you're asking, We were fighting a war on American soil defending against the russians but that's all I'm gonna say nothing to surprising other than a war on the shores of America."
The 4 were surprised to hear that the Rangers were fighting a war before they arrived, they expected off duty soldiers or reserve but not in current combat or large scale as that one.
"Did you guys have anything familiar to a game or something like this."
Cpl Dun spoke up "No not really we found it in a book and this is where it led us."
"I guess y'all know just as little as me." 
"Yea that's right but we'll be damned before we go without a fight, Hoah." Cpl Dun chanted in pride. "Well we thought it was because you were the shield hero because you're useless in Combat." Motoyashu said "No y'all have to be kidding me what about your worlds?" Itsuki shook his head and Ren spoke "Sorry man." 
"NOOOOOOO!!!" laying there sadly on the couch.
Sgt Foley spoke "Come on kid there's a purpose for a shield if it exists as does everything now get up."
Thinking about that brought his pride up a bit "Well it doesn't matter because I'll deal with anything that comes in my way." Fooley smiled "Now that's the spirit now we should all get some sleep for tomorrow so we can be ready for whatever awaits us tomorrow."
Everyone agreed and went to sleep for the next day.

The fight for DC rages on as the U.S. Rangers fight to retake DC from the Russian Forces. A Nuke sets of in midair causing an EMP disabling all electronics finally giving the Rangers a fighting chance against the Russians. After hard fighting for Whiskey Hotel or the White House, They fight hard to reach the top and set off flares to stop the flatening of DC. The Rangers are victorious along with others to reaching the top of Whiskey Hotel. After the 11 Rangers secured Whiskey Hotel the Rangers find a library and start looking at books to keep themselves busy, Cpl Dun finds a book about 4 heroes the others get interested into what he's reading as they have nothing else to do but wait for reinforcements to arrive.


MW2 and Rising of The Shield Hero Crossover

I woke up on the bed, tucked into the blankets. The pack doctor was no where in sight. Nor was the alpha. Did he ever return home?

I looked over to the window and seen that the sun had gone down. What time is it? I look over at the nightstand and seen a clock. 12:40 am. It's late and he hasn't returned?! He at least didn't return to the room....I think. I sighed. Maybe I should go see if he's somewhere in the house. 

I got up out of bed and walked down the long hallway that led to a flight of stares. Quietly, I walked down the stairs, not wanting to wake anyone up. 

Once I got to the bottom step, I sighed and continued my way around searching for my mate. While roaming around the dark house, I seen a light up ahead of the never heading hallway. When I got to the room where the light was coming from, I seen that it was the kitchen. 

Inside the kitchen, sat a person. He wasn't Lucius but from what I'm guessing is that it's his beta. 

"I know you're there," he said. 

I looked up to see him staring at me over the book he was reading. 

"You can come in. I'm not going to bite," he said before sighing. 

I walked closer to him, but kept my distance. 

"I'm Iris," I said to him. 

"Maxwell," he said. 

"What are you reading?" I asked. 

"Huh? Oh. It's something my grandmother gave me. It was her book of the ancient legends and myths of every creature that lived on earth. She used to read me them to bed every night since I was a baby before she passed," Maxwell said closing the book.

I looked at him closely. There was a faint scar that went down his nose and lip. 

"Where did you get that scar?" I asked him out of curiosity. 

"What scar?" he asked me confused. 

"The one on your face," I said. 

"Oh, this one. About 2 weeks ago, the pack stumbled across a werecat. She clawed my snout while I was in wolf form. This is the result of it," Maxwell told me. 

Holy shit. I clawed the beta. I'm going to be in some deep sh*t. 

"I'm sorry," I mumbled. 

"Sorry for what? You didn't do anything," he said. 

"Yes I did Maxwell. I'm the werecat that clawed you," I told him. 

"Oh.... Well, it's okay. You were defending yourself," he said grinning. 

We talked to each other more. I soon had sat next to him. Apparently, him and Lucius were trouble makers when they were pups. I thought it was funny because from the little time I got to know Lucius, if you want to even count it as getting to know him, I didn't see him as a trouble maker. Now Maxwell, I can see him like that. He has that childish personality that suits him.

"So, have you found your mate?" I asked Maxwell. 

"No. Have you?" he replied. 

"Yeah. Lucius is my mate. But I don't know where he disappeared to," I said laying my head against my hand. 

"Your Lucius's mate?! I'm sorry Luna. I should have known. I'll mind-link Lucius for you," he said getting all professional. 

"Thanks Maxwell. But please call me by my name. And you don't have to be all professional around me either. Just be your natural self," I said to him. 

"Your welcome. And okay," he says before mind-linking Lucius.

"Iris, he should be here soon," Maxwell told me after mind-linking the alpha. 

I nodded in response and looked through the book. I wasn't searching for anything particular. Just a story that my mom used to tell me. After searching through half the book, I eventually found it and tapped a sleeping Maxwell on the shoulder. 

"What you got there?" he said half asleep. 

"Just a story my mom used to tell me," I said showing it to him. 

"Ahh. The story of how the first werecat clan was made. It was one of my favorites as a child.", Maxwell said. 

"Mine too. Do you mind reading it to me?" I said to him. 

"Sure," he said.

Maxwell read the story to me. I sat there engrossed and memorized in it. It kind of felt like when I was younger. By the end of the story, I was in tears. It was a sad story, but a famous one as well. 

I thanked Maxwell for reading me the story. That's when the alpha made his presence known. 

"Alpha," Maxwell said to him. 

"Maxwell," he said acknowledging him. 

"I'll go make myself scarce. Iris, whenever you want to hear another story, you can find me in the library," Maxwell said. 

"Okay," I replied. 

Maxwell quickly left me with Lucius in the kitchen. 

"What time is it?" I asked Lucius, not seeing a clock anywhere in here. 

"3:30 am. Why?" Lucius said. I tried to calm myself before talking to him, but that didn't work out as planned. 

"Where the hell were you?!? I looked for you before sitting here with your beta. I was worried. You weren't here when I woke up," I exclaimed. 

Lucius sighed. 

"We need to talk, It's about what happened a decade ago," he said dodging my question. 

"Then will you tell me where you went?" I asked. 

"Yes I will," he said tiredly. 

"You better," I said in a very pissed off tone.

Iris Lace is the last of her kind. She's been on the move for a while now. Then she meets him. Her mate. Lucius Lyons. 
     Lucius Lyons is the alpha of the Filtrian Pack. He's one of the most intimidating and scariest alphas in all of history. Piss him off and he won't show you any mercy.
