Poem I was forced to write for English Class

Notice: I by no means own anything. From the translation of the novel to the original fanfic, they are not owned by me. The only thing I own is my English translation skills. Before you ask me if copying and pasting from the source and using google translate is possible, it is not, because the original Korean viewer does not allow for copying and pasting, resulting in me having to translate word for word on my own or through the usage of sla... I mean cousins and friends helping with the translation.  Another thing to note, is that this fanfiction sort of requires you to know about the Tower of God universe before reading. Not just the anime adaptation, but also the webtoon, as most of the story that will be covered, will have content based in the recent seasons of the webtoon. 

I will also be posting other Korean fanfiction translations when the time comes, just comment on what fanfiction you guys would like, I will try to choose some that may peak your interests.

As an avid fan of "Tower of God" I have been reincarnated as Hoaqin. I still want to try many things, but there is so much to solve and do ahhhhhhhhh!   Still, I don't regret coming into the tower, it's pretty fun after all.

"I'm sooooooo bored!! Ughhh....." lazily complained a young woman with startling white hair that was wearing a fur coat as it was winter currently. She was lying flat on her back, staring at the ceiling aimlessly while fiddling with a mandarin. Her name was Wang Xinya.

She laid behind a wooden table that had 2 teacups arranged neatly on a porcelain plate together with a teapot; one cup had the phrase: "So many times you felt sad about the past, yet the mountain still sits there when the cold wind blows."(1) written on it(this is the English translation of a part of a chinese poem, PS: this translation is not actually very accurate), drawn around the phrase were beautiful white and yellow chrysanthemum blossoms, threaded between the chrysanthemums were peach blossoms, blooming around the peach blossoms were beautiful yet tragic red spider lilies. The other teacup had sprawling branches of plum blossoms curved around a phrase combined with the plum blossoms were delicate orchids, perched upon the plum blossoms were a magnificent and imposing yet lonely phoenix, written inside this cage of flowers was the phrase: "While the wildfires rage, once the spring wind arrives, the wild grass will bloom again."(2)(Again, this is just part of a whole poem but a very famous poem about wild grass, it's actually: While the wildfires rage, once spring wind arrives, they will bloom again.) but barely noticeable; written beside the phrase was a small character that meant betrayal.

(Author's note: This is some heavy symbolism so....you better start googling. Cuz I'm foreshadowing)


"Miss, if you're so bored, why don't you do these paperwork yourself." replied another woman, she had looks that could cause the downfall of nation, you could have easily mistaken her for being a goddess if not for the fact that she was sorting through some documents with a wry smile. 

"Remind me, what did I hire you for?" replied the pessimistic young woman groggily, as she slowly got up, stretching sleepily, letting out a wide yawn before turning around to face her subordinate. She slammed the mandarin in her hands on the table lazily.

"To be your bodyguard?" answered the subordinate.

"Nope! To do my paperwork!" 

"Miss, since you're so bored, how about returning?"

"Returning? Where?"

"Miss...don't play dumb. You know where. The capital of course, where else."

"Are you crazy? What for?"

"What if the Master notices something wrong with Qiu Rou's disguise?"

"Oh. I would be flattered if my 'dearest' father even payed enough attention to me, his bastard 'son'!" she snorted sarcastically.

"Miss...the Master genuinely cares for you, he just doesn't know how to show it."

"Hmph! That damned drunkard father of mine cares for me?! If that happens, then the sun must have risen from the West! Not like that would happen in a million years!" 

"Miss...y-"

Just then, the door slammed open, a burly youth stood at the door, huffing and puffing, "Miss-" he was about to say, but then, a stunning young lady barged in. 

"You have to help me!" the young lady declared.

"Uhh....who are you?" Wang Xinya said with a tilt of her head.

"Wait..." the young girl's eyebrows were knitted together in confusion as she muttered to herself, "Could it be!? That I'm at the wrong place? But...I'm sure this is where 'The Red Spider Lily of The Alliance of Heroes' stay at...hmmm. I know! I'll ask them for directions!" She turned around and said "Hi, uhmm, sorry for barging in, I think I got the wrong place. Can you please tell me where is 'The Red Spider Lily of The Alliance of Heroes' stay?"


"Why? Are you looking for her?" she asked, a smile tugging at her lips, finally! She wouldn't be so bored now! 


"Uhh, yeah! Do you know her?"


"Of course I would know myself! Hmm...I never thought my nickname would be so famous, right...Qiu Hua?"


"Uhhh....Miss, I think it would be quite the contrary, uhh...you know: infamous.. Yeah..."


"You know...."


"Yeah? Know what?"


"I really want to strangle you..."


"You're joking right? Right? Right, Miss?"


"I'm not joking, try me!"


"Miss....don't stress your body!"


"Haha. You think that'll work on me? Obviously, you won't lay a hand on me at all. So....I can bully you all I want! Mwahahahahahaahahaha!"


"Miss..."


"As long as you beg me...maybe I'll let you go?" And so begin cat and mouse chase between the master and subordinate.

They call her the Red Spider Lily of The Alliance of Heroes; they say she is vicious, cruel and ruthless but...what they don't know is that: she is easily bored, pessimistic and slothful, she lives a boring life. That was how she lived, until...she meets her perfect foil: a truly hard-working, innocent and forgiving daughter of a 'treacherous' general. The 2 embark on an adventure to restore the former glory of her father.


The first days in his new home were long and difficult for Timothy.  No one would tell him when he could go home and eventually; he stopped asking.  The house he lived in was very odd to him.  People would come into the shop and often comment on how old things were and say things like "can you believe people once used things like this?" and "How did people survive before modern conveniences?"  To Timothy things like a record player or toaster were wondrous.  Yet the only room that held any interest for him was the library in a small area in the back of the shop.  It was a cramped space with a chipped and stained tile floor.  It did have a couple of small windows that provided some daylight, but with a dozen old bookshelves, some wood, some metal, all mismatched, the room felt dark and always required the light of the bare bulb that hung from the center of the ceiling.  A single metal chair with worn vinyl padding took up a space between two shelving units in the back of the room.  That became his spot.  Books were the only things his new world seemed to have in common with the old, even though most people that came in the shop had very little interest in them.  
For the first six months, a tutor and a therapist would come to their home and work with Timothy to help him learn the language, evaluate his education level and help him adjust to his new life.  He never resisted their efforts, but it took him weeks to want to try and learn.  That day came on a Sunday afternoon when he was able to spend time in the library by himself.  He had just finished reading a book with his translator and started looking for another one.  He would hold the pad up over the spines of the books to read the titles to make his selection.  When he came to one that didn't translate, he pulled the pad away and to his surprise the words on the book spine were in his language.  As he pulled it off the shelf, he realized that some of the words were familiar and others were not.  He opened the book and tried the read it, but only some of the words looked right, and others were spelled differently than he remembered.  Switching the translator to audio mode, he took the book and found his aunt who was making lunch in the kitchen for them.
"Aunt Vickie?  What is this book?"  He asked holding it out to her.
"Well, let's see," she said, happy he was starting to warm up to her a little more.  She took the book, sat down at the small kitchen table and put on her reading glasses.  Timothy grinned as he never saw anyone wear glasses before and he thought they were silly.  "I know they make me look like an old lady, but I have to wait until I'm done with my cancer medication before I can get my eyes adjusted again.  So, this book.  I think it came in with that estate sale I bought up last year.  It looks like it's a collection of old Celtic poems and stories."
"What's Celtic?" Timothy asked.
"Well, it's a language that was once spoken by the ancestors of the Scottish and Irish peoples.  As a matter of a fact that is where our family came from originally.  O'Hara is an Irish name.  We have several ancestors that came from Ireland and some from Scotland.   
Timothy had been told that his father came from the "old world," but he never knew that his father's family came from the same place the old world village came from that he had learned about in school.  The idea excited him as it was a connection with where he came from.  "I want to read this," he said.
Vickie smiled and retrieved the school pad they were using to teach him English.  "You can use this to look up words, even these words.  It will show you the English version, and then you can use your translator to know what it is."  She typed the first word in the book into the pad, and the English translation came up.  She then wrote the word by hand on a digital notepad and had Timothy hold his translator over it.  Vickie knew she could have shown him how to reset his translator to do everything at once, but she wanted it to become an exercise in practicing his English.  
The boy didn't question the process.  He eagerly looked up each word, wrote it out and then translated it again.  In about 20 minutes he had the first poem completed, and his lip quivered.  Vickie looked over his shoulder and read the first passage.  "Little Bird!  O little bird!  I wonder at what thou doest, Thou singing merrily far from me, I in sadness all alone.  That's pretty, but a little dark."
The boy lunged at her and wrapped his arms around her waist, sobbing and shouting, "I want my Mother!  I want my Mother!"
Vickie put her arms around the boy and said, "I know Honey.  I wish she could be here with you, but you know she can't."  She knelt down and rubbed some of his tears off of his face.  "You know, my Dad used to tell me that people are never truly gone if we make a point to remember them.  And we remember people better when we talk about them.  Can you tell me something nice about your Mother?"
Timothy pointed to the book.
"Okay, what about the book, your Mother liked books?"
"She told me that poem," he said with his chin nearly on his chest.
"She told you this poem?"
He nodded.
Vickie remembered something about what Roy said to her about the people of New Terra.  He was recuperating aboard a hospital ship when he called her through a vid-link.  That was the last time she talked to her before he violated the quarantine and when back to the planet.  During their conversations, he tried to describe his experience to her.  He told her that the people of New Terra where descendants of Scottish people kidnapped by the Serkin for slave labor centuries ago, but she didn't think much about it at the time, as she was more concerned about his health than the details of the place he was trapped on.  Now she wished she had asked Roy more about that world before he had abandoned his life to return to it.  She sat back down at the table and turned the page of the book.  Gently she pulled Timothy onto her lap and used his computer to translate it for her.  She then read to Timothy, the translator changing her words to his language and they spent the afternoon exploring their shared history.

Xu Shenshen was in the middle of washing her face when she suddenly remembered that she had turned her phone off yesterday. She wiped her wet hands on her body and touched her phone. She wiped her skin care products with one hand and turned her phone on.
A text message popped up. "Xu Shenshen, we haven't seen each other for a few years. Have you grown angry? You actually dare to turn off your phone. Have you predicted the consequences? "
The second text message appeared. "Xu Shenshen, come to my office tomorrow. Remember to bring a hand-made Spaghetti as an apology gift. "
Is this man alright He actually asked her to make spaghetti. He didn't even think about where she was. The hotel she stayed in didn't even have kitchenware, let alone making spaghetti.
She directly ignored the last message. After putting on her makeup, she turned around, picked up her bag on Chuang, and went out.
Lu Xiangru had actually expected her to come empty-handed. He held a pen in his hand and gently tapped on the desk, as if he was thinking.
"CEO Lu, please arrange today's schedule. Finish it as soon as possible so that I can go back and report. " She respectfully opened her bag and took out a notebook.
The more she wanted to finish it as soon as possible, the more he would not let her have her way.

She was suddenly stunned. She opened her eyes and stared at the familiar ceiling, instantly waking up.
She sat up from Chuang and pinched her face. It was not a dream. When did she climb onto Lu Xiangru's Chuang She drank a lot last night. What happened after that What happened after that She had no memory of it at all?
She lifted the quilt, put on her slippers, and got down from Chuang. She went to the window and looked at the weather outside. Suddenly, she felt warm all over.

27th of may can we turn back time. Summer of 2008, everyone was in the living room, I can hear everyone laughing, playing, talking and excited about something. Weird, right? that was the first summer, my parents, my two sisters and I are here in Cavite together for days.

"Pia, Bakit ka nasa kusina pumunta ka dito makipaglaro ka sa mga pinsan mo"

As I walked to the living room, I find it odd that everyone seems to be expecting someone. After minutes of playing, talking and repeat, someone rang the doorbell which was my first time hearing it because who would want to ring a doorbell in a scary ancestral house in the middle of the night LIKE DUDE I WOULDN'T DO THAT. My Mama ran excitedly greeting the two people who are white as milk, eyes like my mama, and they carry big heavy-looking bags. 

They talked for hours and hours, my sisters seem to know them, my cousins seem to know them, Who? A relative? Friend?Kidnapper? Ghosts? Luckily, the 4 remaining members of Team Skycrown had the skills to backup their invincible claim, managing to always make a comeback from the worst situations to burst their opponents down during the mid to late game.
The opponents synergized well, but compared to the first-grade teams found in the LPL, they just weren't as flexible or as careful. Their two front lines, Da Luo and Zhou Yan, were always able to catch every misplay the enemy made with their deep understanding of the game's mechanics, effectively prolonging the game so that their team could scale and overpower their opposition.
During the past 6 months or so, Team Skycrown had faced teams with every fighting style you could think of, and they knew the mainstream compositions like the back of their hand, able to see through the fatal flaws of off-meta picks as well. You can't deny, some of the teams conjured up through a spark of inspiration could be pretty daunting, and apart from the calm, serious vibe that professional players let off, these teams could easily rival pro players with their skills, combos, and strange tactics!
The guys from Team Skycrown had originally thought that there wasn't much purpose in fighting these cybercafe competitions since their opponents would always be too weak.
But now, their views had shifted. With a 30,000 yuan jackpot behind them, Team Skycrown could feel the murderous glares from their opponents burn into their skulls. Going from Platinum to Diamond, and then from Diamond V to Diamond I, Luocheng was delighted to find shadows of Korean pro players lurking around his rank already.
People in Diamond I and II of the Korean server would already be considered top players back in China, this was in part due to them being updated at the same pace as America, but also because the Korean server was just a single server for the whole country, totally different from China which had over ten servers.
If you were to say so-and-so was the top player, the first reaction you'd get from people would be "Wow, which server are they from?", and if they were anything but Ionia, Bilgewater, or Freljord, you would be dismissed almost immediately.
But if you were to say that you were a top player in the Korea server, it wouldn't be just an abstract concept, since there was only one server, the rankings in the server could basically substitute as a nationwide skill-level ranking!
There were over 200 players who were considered to be the "top players" in the Korean server, and a lot of pro players and other top players from China often went over to the Korean server to play a bit of ranked.
Back when Cat Eye, Qiu Shenping, had gotten into one of the top player ranking spots in Korea, he had gained quite a following. After all, there were only so many spots in that ranking, and one spot taken meant one less chance for someone else to get in. For a foreigner to take that spot, wouldn't that be seen as a challenge?
However, it had been Xiao Bei who had climbed with that account, and so, after Xiao Bei had stopped playing, that account was quickly pushed out of the top rankings and Qiu Shenping eventually faded into the background of the e-sports scene.
Luocheng and Shallow Dream had a very high win-rate, and unlike others who spent a really long time trying to get into Diamond, they only used a few days.
The hardest part was getting from Diamond V to Diamond II!
The skill gap between these ranks was immense as it was saturated with main accounts and smurf accounts of pro players, there were even professional play-by-play narrators. Besides that, there were copious amounts of players from other countries here looking to learn of the newest tactics from the Koreans. A lot of team leaders like Luocheng hid around this rank and this was quite a hindrance for Luocheng and Shallow Dream.
"Mid, ADC, and Support are taken, so I'll go jungle and you go top?" Luocheng asked Shallow Dream.
Unless you typed in English, Chinese characters would all become blank squares in the Korean server. Luocheng and Shallow Dream mainly communicated through the QQ app, and though he had asked for a voice call several times now, Shallow Dream still refused him each time, and Luocheng would be lying if he said he wasn't suspicious of her identity.
"I can't Top," Shallow Dream said straightforwardly.
"It's cool, I'll camp you. You'll get fed all the same!" Luocheng announced confidently.

Luocheng replied in his fluent English, "die,ting,bu,dong,han,wen!"

Thinking about it further, the guy probably just used Google Translate.
Luocheng went and found his own translating website and typed a phrase, asking who he was.

Shallow Dream couldn't watch ant longer and messaged Luocheng on the QQ app, 'You sent that in Japanese'!
Luocheng let out an awkward laugh, "My bad, my bad, I was wondering why those words looked oddly familiar."

It wasn't Yisheng's fault that he reacted to Luocheng's ID the same way he would react to his parents' murderer. During the new year, Yisheng had made an appearance as a famous professional player from the Korean server on a popular LOL show.
Acting as a guest, he gave the audience a play-by-play analysis of a bottom lane game and tips on how to improve. The audience had been so enthralled that they opened their books to take notes.
"Next, let's take our knowledge into a real game." Yisheng didn't know it at the time, but this sentence was the start of his nightmare.
Other show hosts would have probably gone into a custom game just to demonstrate a few techniques in a practical setting, but being as cocky as he was, Yisheng had decided to go into a ranked game, in a Platinum almost Diamond rank match.
Too bad though that that was when Luocheng and Shallow Dream were climbing. It was really just bad luck that Yisheng had queued directly into the peculiar duo of Luocheng and Shallow Dream.
The outcome was as expected, and without a good Support, Yisheng was left crying for his mom. Those Korean high schoolers who had brought all their notebooks? Their pens and their jaws were all on the floor.
Pro players hated these sorts of situations. LOL was already a 5-man game, even if they could maintain a 90 percent win rate in Plat and Diamond, there was still a solid 10 percent chance that they would throw everything, and that 10 percent just so happened to show itself during a broadcasted show. The host was at a loss for words, what could he say to save Park Yisheng from the humiliation he was inevitably going to receive for being beaten very badly.
Professional players who had appeared on the past programs had had smooth lanes, and if they lost, the host would just say so-and-so was actually really strong, it's just that their teammates were bad, once again making it clear that LOL was a team game first and foremost, relieving any awkwardness still hanging in the air from the loss.

Of course, these details mattered not to the man; after all, what was the point even if he had a good look? The only information that he needed was whether or not there were monsters hiding in the room.
Flowing curtains draped on the walls and the furniture had seen better days. They were old and decrepit, looking exceptionally uncomfortable. The books and musical instruments that littered the ground did not help to improve the liveliness of the room. A scent of melancholy hung in the air, and the chilly atmosphere seemed to seep into every corner.
After hearing the system audio, Invincible Champion glanced at the menu. His first thought was that the two female players had found something in the house and thus triggered the side quest. He did not even consider that it could have been the three plebs who were behind this.
Even though he was not good at puzzle-solving, Invincible Champion was a professional gamer. He might be lacking in analytical skills, but it could be made up through gaming experience. He roughly rummaged through the room to look for equipment or consumables, but the only things that appeared barely useful were a wooden guitar and a violin with broken strings. His bare hands were more effective than those fragile wooden objects. His title, The Reckless Boxer, provided the passive effect of improving the damage of his punches.
Giving up on the equipment, Invincible Champion started to look for quest items. He had no idea what The Haunted Palace was and had no interest in reading through the books that littered the ground. He walked directly toward the object that looked like a clue the most—an envelope on the table.
The other readable items in the room were either on the ground or piled in the corner; the only exception was this enveloped, which was placed under an inkwell.
Taking up the inkwell, Invincible Champion noticed that some ink had leaked out of the bottle, staining the envelope. But the stain was dry. He picked up the envelope and blew off the layer of dust before opening it and retrieving the letter inside.
The letter was incomplete because many places were blotted out by the leaked ink, and the other places had gone blurry from time. The beginning of the letter and the writer's signature were both unreadable, but from the content, he speculated that the letter was written by the owner of the house to his friend.
The writer said that he suffered from a serious illness due to some kind of curse, and he was tormented by the illusions. He desperately wished to see his best friend, his only friend. He wished that this friend could come visit him, and perhaps this might improve his condition.
There were indeed signs of mental instability in the words, but most of the content was incomprehensible due to the writer's shaking hands and inscrutable sentence structure.
Even though Invincible Champion was none the wiser after reading the letter, he carried the letter with him. He scanned the room one last time before turning to leave.

Inside a darkened stone tunnel, a flashlight suddenly came on to shower its light on the short path before the man. Looking at the last of the sunset, Sophie put her hand on the warm surface of the sandstone and sighed. "God, I feel like I've touched a piece of time from millions of years ago..."
During her sigh, the shadows grew longer as the sun got closer to the horizon.
Li Du took Sophie's hand and jumped onto a higher rock. They watched the sun fade into the distance; it was like a red fireball disappearing into the darkened desert boundary. The whole process was actually quite fast but it was slow in the eyes of the couple.
From up on the rock, they could see that the whole Forest Park was illuminated by the afterglow, everywhere glimmering with fiery red luster as if the earth were burning.
In addition to the fiery red light, as there were a lot of fossils and ore on the ground, so there were also a lot of flickering colors.
It had started with fiery red light dominating the whole landscape. As the sun set, other lights began to flicker with more strength amidst the red glow.
The colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple proceeded to show their presence in the landscape; the National Park filled with a variety of colors.
A line of big birds appeared in the sky. As the sky dimmed, the birds' form gradually blended into the sky, but the vigor they brought remained the same.
When the sun disappeared, the desert changed from an overall red tone to purple; even the sky above where the sun had set turned purple.
Twilight was here, and it turned the desert into a color palette.
The earth's hills and colors of the fossils changed again. The starry sky started to appear. The night sky was not yet black, instead a shade of dark blue.
The landscape was now enveloped in endless dark blue tones, turning the earth into a shade of grayish-blue like the tides.
Standing on the boulder, Li Du felt like he faced a magical sea of frozen hills. The boulder at his feet seemed to be a surfboard, making him feel like he could step on the waves and surf any moment.
Not until the sky was covered with stars were the both of them finally awakened from the spectacular sunset.
Li Du glanced at Sophie and said, "It's really magnificent! 'The straight lonely smoke rises in the desert, the long river reflects the round sun in sunset.' I dare say it can't be compared to what we just experienced!"
Li Du had recited the poem in Mandarin. Sophie could not understand, so he tried to explain it to her.
However, the English interpretation could not fully bring out the artistic feel of the poem. The Chinese poetry was broad and profound. A lot of poems could only be fully understood fully in Mandarin. It was common for poems to lose their flavor after translation.
After listening to his explanation, Sophie thought for a moment and then said, "How about this? Why don't you teach me Mandarin? I'll learn Chinese so I can appreciate the poetry in your culture."
Sophie's request was great. Li Du was more than happy to teach Sophie Mandarin. Once they were married, Sophie would need to communicate with his parents. It would be more reliable for her to learn Mandarin rather than getting his parents to learn English.
They rode back to the Visitor Center in the moonlight.
A few pickup trucks were parked near the entrance of the park. Some shirtless muscular men were smoking near the entrance as well. Li Du saw a few gem hunters that lost the bet to him waiting there.
Apparently, these people had stayed here, waiting for him to show up. Li Du had almost recovered from the loss of his energy and was not afraid of trouble. However, Sophie was with him and it was night—he didn't want to put her in danger.
Thus, he called up Godzilla.
Godzilla and the rest quickly arrived. Hans came as well; he hadn't returned to Flagstaff.
As the four of them alighted, Li Du and Sophie went up to them.
The gem hunters' expressions immediately changed when they saw Li Du and they walked towards him.
Li Du was now with Godzilla and Big Quinn. When the gem hunters saw the two big men, their expressions changed once again. They passed Li Du as if nothing had happened and headed toward the National Park.
Big Quinn frowned as they walked by. "What are they doing?"
Hearing his complaint, the gem hunters walked even faster. They practically ran toward the National Park.
Big Quinn's face looked even more ferocious at night. Li Du felt that maybe it was time to increase Big Quinn's pay. Having Big Quinn around really saved him from a lot of trouble.
On the way back, he took the five opals he had with him and gave one to each of the four of them. He left one opal to himself, the one with the purest color with a blot that made it looked like a gem of fiery clouds.
Godzilla looked at it and asked curiously, "What is this?"
Lu Guan was stunned and shrieked, "Bullsh*t!"
Godzilla replied, "Can bullsh*t be this beautiful?"
"Don't interrupt me!" said Lu Guan. "Bullsh*t! This is a fire opal! This thing's expensive, this is a gem!"
Hans obviously knew what they were as well. He fiddled around with the opal. "Where did you get so many fire opals? This could be worth 10,000 dollars, right?"
Big Quinn firmly gripped his opal after listening to what Hans said.
Li Du told them briefly about the bet, then he continued, "Crispy Noodles and I found these opals. Crispy Noodles is good at digging. He seemed to be connected to the fire opals. And together with my sharp powers of observation, we managed to find these gems."
"It must be you who found them," said Hans. "A raccoon connected to fire opals? Bullsh*t. If they really have a connection, I'd be willing to keep 100 raccoons."
In places like Flagstaff, which was situated near a National Park, the raccoons were rather hated by residents. They were impulsive and destructive. They often wreaked havoc in people's backyard.
As soon as Hans blurted out his thoughts, Li Du sighed in his heart. Hans knew him too well—he was unable to fool him.
Fortunately, Hans did not know the real reason Li Du could find valuable storage units and now the fire opals. He simply believed that Li Du possessed sharp observation powers that were beyond the ordinary man's insight.
Li Du didn't provide any explanation but continued speaking. "I found a new way to get rich. Maybe when we can't make money in storage auctions we can find some time to go hunt for fire opals in the Petrified Forest."
Hans nodded in agreement. "That's a reliable way to get rich. If we can find high-quality fire opals, we don't need to deal with storage units anymore. We can spend the next half of our lives in the company of beautiful women and exquisite wine."
Of course, the most important thing now was the upcoming storage unit auction.
In the morning, Li Du took Sophie and the others to the storage company. They went later than usual. Most of the treasure hunters had already arrived.
They didn't need to observe their opponents and decide on a plan anymore, which was what they had done when they first joined the industry.
Now, they relied on their fame and their abilities to crush their opponents. This meant it was actually better for them to arrive late. If people heard they were interested in a particular auction, it would certainly attract a lot of extra treasure hunters.
But even without him arriving early this auction attracted a lot of people. Winslow's storage units were famous. Many people had found good items here before.
Not only were the treasure hunters here, but a group of tourists was at the storage company. They wore white hats and held small flags. The treasure hunters were stupefied upon seeing the group of tourists.
