these are just some short stories I've written in my free time most of them are fantasy but a few of them may be mysteries.

each chapter is a different story. some stories may gave the same characters but they are different. some bigger words  included

I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of this earlier as most my stories are basically Fantasy with a capital F so let me get right into it. What separates 'Fantasy' from 'Contemporary' works isn't just where it's set but also the level of contrivances that are allowed.

As I've said before, every story allows a certain level of contrived scenarios where Destiny and Fate are actually a thing. Fantasy stories in particular work best when you go all in on your imagination.

I know you all have had it drilled into your brains that a certain level of 'realism' is needed even in a fantasy story. However, what most mean by that isn't adding the laws of physics to your story but keeping it internally consistent with clear laws and limits.

I'm pretty sure you guys don't need a rundown in how society works because fantasy societies work the same way expect they have the word 'Magic' added to them. Do NOT rip off Elves and Dwarves from the Lord of the Rings and flex the creative muscles in your brain a little. There's no limit to the kind of magical races you can make in a Fantasy!

This also applies to magic. However, people only remember limitations more than what a persons using Magic System can generally do since 'magic is omnipotent unless proven otherwise'. There will be no narrative stakes or tension if you can't even make sure random nobodies aren't shooting off nukes and your main character isn't invincible beyond measure.

There are people who tend to overthink about how to write Fantasy since it's such a popular genre everyone and their dog is writing. You don't need someone else's guideline to write a Fantasy since most good Author's base them out of existing literature of the past or modern ones they are retelling using their own tropes and characters.

You'll never get anywhere if you need someone else to flex your creativity when looking into the past brings forth many mystical stories and myths that all wouldn't be possible without a little bit of magic sprinkled onto them. The classic LitRPG genre with stuff like Guilds and Adventures is popular to use nowadays but only because you don't have to explain much in a story that's so easy to figure out.

If you're going to use the LitRPG setting with dungeons and dragons, make sure you make it character driven and focus on people rather than explaining how fireballs work. The only reason Slime Reincarnation (That Time I Reincarnating As A Slime) or Sword Dad (I Was A Sword When I Reincarnated) are so popular is because behind the Power Fantasy are well-written and diverse characters.

If you want to write your own Fantasy World unique to only you, then it's best to start researching ways to ground it with your audience. These days people want to read about 'people' more than someone dumping lore about a fictional world they don't care about. Even pure Fantasy stories needs a protagonist that can be the reader's eyes and ears.

Now, thanks to the Isekai Boom, you may think that a main character HAS to be reincarnated for basically no reason whatsoever. However, that is ill-advised as people reincarnated for trivial reasons bore the audience to death. There's this Fantasy story about this non-reincarnated girl who was raised by Death himself in a regular medieval magic world, causing her to be a mix of creepy and cute all at the same time. This is an example of the kind of plots which are interesting BECAUSE their MC is a member of this world but special rather than some random guy from Earth who just so happens to be Isekai'd.

Isekai can be done right when the main character's rebirth or transportation into this world holds some sort of meaning. However, it can turn into a very boring story with maybe one or two gimmicks if you aren't even thinking of an ending for it.

Getting back to the main point: You seriously won't be able to write a Fantasy properly unless you at least know something about characters (If you haven't already figured that out already).

How the life of this character, under the special upbringing that only those of your Fantasy World go through, is interesting to the reader depends of where you take the tropes of your regular Fantasy.

You can go the 'Epic Fantasy' route, then copying the Hero's Journey is fine as long as you switch it up a bit. As long as you understand the fundamentals of a Hero's Journey and not look at it as the ONLY WAY TO TELL A STORY then you're on the right track.

Those who are wondering what a Hero's Journey is can find the link at the bottom. Also try searching for Dan Harmon's Story Circle for a more character driven version of it on YouTube. Anyway, this trope is basically the origin of the whole 'Chosen One' trope.

As for what I meant by Epic Fantasy, it is actually quite beloved type of story for many who love the Fantasy genre. It could be about the journey about a chosen one destined to defeat a Big Baddy like Eragon, Lord of the Rings, etc. There are even shorter and more simplified versions of this which is basically where the 'Hero Vs Demon King' trope came from. As long as there's a quest fraught with danger then people would love to read about a chosen one being able to win against their foes.

Another route you can take is Dark Fantasy, where all the lovely tales of HP Lovecraft comes from. His stories may lean more on the spectrum of supernatural tales about Dark Gods and Cults but the way everything seems to be ripped out of a nightmare is what I'm trying to focus on. If a regular Fantasy is like a dream then a Dark Fantasy is one you'd rather avoid since the world is screwed up.

And I don't mean the characters are screwed up or insane by any means, I literally mean either the Magic System or how society works is genuinely screwed up. Read 'Dungeon Seeker' as an example of this (Warning: Don't read it if you don't want to pollute your innocent mind with all the corruption in this story). Either way, it could be the Magic System relies on the blood of orphans, or it could be you have to kill a loved every time you cast a spell. The main point is that this Fantasy World is just hell.

Now, I could move on to Urban Fantasy and other sub-genres, but that would be wasting my time and yours since TV Tropes exists for a reason. Just remember what I've said and have a clear goal in beginning and end planned for your character's development and you'll be fine. There's nothing better than a story that's focused after all.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Romance is a very popular genre in Webnovels. The first thing that come to mind when we talk about romance are the CEO novels. Even though we don't want to admit it, they are the mainstream romance stories in the Webnovel website. 

So why do people love romance stories? I hope you find the answer while reading this chapter.

Elyon knew that "Romance" is not his strong point. He writes a fantasy story with romance, but he can't tell if the romance will be able to attract female readers. Out of curiosity, he asked some of his fellow authors the question "Why do you read romance stories?"

Here are their answers…

Kyosei: Because I am single. 

Reili: To fill my empty void of a love life.

Minrei: Because romance let you feel what is to be loved, plus it is universal you dont need to learn magic or cultivation in order to read.

Bajj: Due to lack of romance irl.

Murakami: I read because I enjoy the friction and conflict between the FL and ML. The insistence vs resistance is naisu.

Qin: I reads romance only for ideas and info.

VlassisBehrakis: I don't read romance novels.

Elyon then  ̶a̶m̶b̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ asked some readers about their opinion about romance novels.

Yin: I read romance novels because I want that kind of drama to happen to me in real life. But I know it will never happen haha.

A Certain Irresistible Meowlin: I wonder why? And I do read romance novels. Though the chance of me dropping them is also the highest out of all the genres. Every so often I come across a scene that makes me just want to squeal and fangirl.

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.

hello, as we all know every story starts with our birth and not with exciting moments just like in other stories. Most people could say that this story is made up or is a fantasy story, but how can we be so sure? 

When you read this story you must imagine that you are the main character.  This way it will be more interesting for you and for me.

Let's look at our story from the beginning ...

Some argue that various works by authors that do not meet the requirement of fine grammar and spelling are rubbish. Here, each person has his own opinion, and let him stick to it and impose his opinion on others as the ultimate truth, it speaks only of ignorance of life. It is diverse.

Is the work of authors with poor grammar garbage? In my opinion, no. Each author tells his story, passed through his worldview, attitude, understanding of life, his experience and thoughts about the world. It's always interesting for me to read this personally.

I'm a bibliophile, I read a lot of classic works of art, Tomass and Gernih Mana, Feuchtwanger, Mark Twain, Stvenson, Romain Roland, Galsworthy, Tolstoy and all his volumes and there are about 19 of them! I didn't read Dostoevsky, I didn't like him. But Azek Azimov, Ursuda Le Guin, Tolkien, Kipling, Conandoyle, Louis Besenar and others I read with pleasure. Li Bo, the poetry is gorgeous. Novels of feudal and late feudal China, Japan, Korea. Novels and novels by Chinese prose writers of the early 20s and 80-90s of the 20th century.

In general, I read about 10,000 books. Fiction, fantasy, poetry, historical novels, ballads, myths and legends.

After that I became interested in reading historical documentaries - about the history of the Silk Road, Archeology, History, Ethnography, Etymology, the Big Game, the story of the confrontation of imperial intelligence in the vast regions of the Silk Road.

I read about 550 books, from the 16th to the beginning of the 21st century.

I have some kind of base for evaluating short stories and novels.

Sometimes works written flawlessly in terms of grammar, alas ... they are completely devoid of meaning, they are not interesting, they do not have fascinating stories, conclusions, experience, thoughts. But work with poor grammar, on the contrary, have unique information. Of course, not all works, but there are some.

Therefore, when assessing the creativity of another person, the author, being so categorical in evaluations, says only that you have a maximalist who still knows life poorly. This is the right of choice, each person, and to impose a choice on another according to my preferences, I consider this not comme il faut. Well, here everyone has a point of view.

In fact, this is an eternal question - what is more important? Beautiful text form or good content? Bestsellers are those works that combine good text and good content.

I am the author myself. But not a professional writer, but a techie. I don't know much about composition, about the intricacies of writing good text. But I have a very interesting content. Is my story garbage? I do not think so? Do I respect the reader? Sure. But writing is better so far I can't. Nevertheless, I have my own circle - readers who are interested in my work. There are not hundreds or thousands of people, but a couple of dozen will be typed.

I write in the genre - a documentary historical fiction, there are many interesting facts about the Silk Road with which I wanted to share. If I were waiting for the moment when I could write well in terms of English grammar ... I would not be able to share it now ... maybe in a couple of years ... and still I would not be able to write like this they write - people from English-speaking countries. This is a favorite topic of native speakers to reproach those who learn this language in their ignorance of the intricacies of the language they learn, grammar and spelling errors ... As we say, the dog barks, the caravan goes on. That happens.

English is the world language of communication. Moreover, for me it is the third language. I speak English well, but my grammar is lame. I admit it. Yes, I need to teach her, but I don't think I can write in perfect English.

The overall result - write as you can, share your thoughts, in the era of information, the content itself is important and not its form. One way or another, it can help others, they can come to a new thought and write a story about your topic that you would like to read yourself!

This is an isekai written by me. Inspired by a wide variety of isekai stories.

Why did I decide to write this?
First of all, I'm just an ordinary person. Before writing this, I had no experience in creative writing at all. I am also an isekai fanatic. I have read and/or watched a multitude of isekais, and some of them are bad. Like, really bad (see Conception and Master of Ragnarok)... I knew for a fact that I could write a better story than those. If those could get animes, why not try to write my own? I also wanted to create a world that the reader can explore. This concept is heavily inspired by Overlord, my favorite series of all time. Although the quality is nowhere near as good, I wanted to create an experience similar to that of reading Overlord for the first time and picking apart the world. I hope I am doing a decent job.

It was a pleasant day as usual in the rural countryside with trees dancing to the rhythm of the wind and animals enjoying the graceful warmth the sun provides them. In the forest, you can see a small, plain house equipped with a big porch in front with a beautiful variety of flowers arranged in front of it to create a wonderful scenery of a faraway fantasy land being taken care of fairies.
On the porch, an old man could be seen rocking back and forth in his rocking hair reading what seems to be a manga. This old man is the MC of the story  Azur Lynel. A bald old man with a long white beard, like those cultivation novels supreme elders and with a physique the polar opposite of what his age suggests about him... packed with muscles and filled with a multitude of scars giving an image of his harsh past. Past all of this he gives off a grandfatherly vibe making him seem like a kind old man that spoils his grandchildren with candies.
At this sudden moment, the old man slapped the manga closed and put it away on the rocking chair's armrest.
Moving around and popping all the bones and muscles in his body and exhaling a loud breath, "Ah, I really should stop sitting down for so long my old bones can't handle it and start creaking as soon as I stand up!" to particularly no one in the surroundings (AN: 😅). Doing so Azur started to attend to his vast flower collection, only one of his many hobbies he picked after his long life including things such as gardening, swordsmanship, gunmanship, reading novels, watching anime, etc. Like this time passed and day soon turned into night and the howls of wolves and the chirping of crickets could be heard from far away.
Hearing this Azur snapped out of his trance, "I did it again, huh I should really stop thinking about my family all the time it's just gonna make me more depressed" and with a wry smile Azur stopped his gardening activities and put away all of his tools into the shed, returning into his house and going to bed.
--- Sometime later ---
Opening my eyes I could see my usual and boring wooden ceili- wait... it's black everything is black... 'Have I been kidnapped? I can't feel my body and everything is dark? Did my enemies finally catch up to me? No, my body would awake if I felt danger! If so, what is happening then? Have I died? Is this Hell I've been sent to? Eternal darkness, eternal solitude... if so then I must add the Devil is definitely a psychological mastermind.'
"Hahahaha calm down child, you are in neither hell or heaven for they don't exist"
Somehow turning around I can see a 3-meter tall old man with a white beard that can only be called magnificent being at least 2 meters long making me think how many years has this old man not shaved it?
"Wait, you said I'm not in neither hell or heaven? Doesn't that mean you're god?"
"Hah, how did you guess child, and by the way aren't you old as well?"
"Well, what else am I supposed to think with an abnormally tall old man with an equally abnormal beard sitting in the middle of what seems to be complete emptiness? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you can also read my mind."
"Ha, I guess that does seem a bit suspicious huh? Well, do you want to know why you are here?"
"I died?"
"Interesting you are taking your death very well. Why is that, most mortals at this point are right now crying with snot flowing out of their nose?"
"Why should I fear something that I know is going to claim me eventually? That's why life should be lived to it's fullest potential! Grasping every opportunity!"
"Hahahahaha, now that is an interesting world view it seems I chose the right person for the job!"
"What do you mean?"
"Well my boy, I mean reincarnation with benefits including becoming my inheritor!"
I furrow my brows at this, as I just want to live in peace and it seems if I have any relations with this old man god then my next life isn't going to be good...
"Why should I accept this? This sounds like one of those generic isekai summoning stories with bad wishes and an even worse MC."
"Interesting you should say that because if you do accept my proposition then you can have a much more interesting life than your previous one!"
"Hmph, and why would I want that huh old man god?!"
"Relax, child I meant it with no ill meanings all I was saying you could have one if you choose my deal... you know murder is murder whether that is sinful people or innocent so of course in the next life, you would need to do more good deeds to get rid of all that bad karma and have a good life if you don't choose my deal that is"
"Ugh, fine damned old fox! Why are you doing this anyway?"
"GREAT, well it gets very boring in the void you know... having to create universes and wreak havoc among the universes you created, It's very tough work you know! And so once you have grown strong enough I want you to become my rival and fight me!"
'Great... a godly battle junkie!' "So let me get this straight you want to give me powers and then fight you once I'm strong enough? What happens when I grow too strong and let's say accidentally kill you? Just wondering of course?"
"Then I can only say it was my misfortune! Alright then, final time do you accept my deal child?"
"Haaah, fine I accept your deal but first I want to know can I choose which world to go to and can I change my physical body?"
"Heheheheh, of course, of course, choose which world to enter... a fantasy world or a different reality's modern earth (AN: 😉)! And choose the mighty body of an adult in his prime or you can choose to go puberty again! Ah, really the choices are endless!"
'This guy has a few screws loose, but I guess that's what happens to you when you have been living for so long. I have to think which choice would be most suitable for me? A cultivation world where there are thinking with their dick young masters and MC's with supreme plot armor... nah, rather not die just cause I looked at somebody wrong. Maybe a fantasy world with not necessarily that many powerful beings that can obliterate the universe and a slightly better culture than the cultivation world... okay I think I have decided, I'm going to choose a fantasy world with preferably no powerful beings living there or anywhere near it s-'
"Excellent, a fantasy world it is then now all you have to do is customize you physical body, and then you're all set!"
"Can you please stop reading my mind? Giving me Charles Xavier vibes man, not cool!"
"Alright, alright, I'll stop so what kind of body are you choosing for your grand adventure ending with you inevitable fight with me! 😀"
"Ugh, it's like I'm talking to my grandson who enjoys fortnite a little bit too much... okay so how do I customize this body then?"
"Just imagine it, and the body will form in front of you... and I'll just pretend you didn't say that to the cosmic deity capable of creating and destroying universes on their whim 😎"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever" 'So imagine it... well then I want my body to be at the peak of power as I'll definitely be fighting many battles over the course of this new life of mine... so 30 or so, and I would also need to have a height of at least 190 cm with unlimited potential in the growth of muscles and I would, of course, need to have at least 8 inches on my Jr. Impaler.
