"This is more like a bracelet than a ring. The metallic hand had thick fingers to wear it on its fingers. I wonder what the quality of this item is?" Analyzing the historic looking wrist-sized ring, Mohan inserted his ManaForce into it.

Every action he had taken this far was reactionary and that clashed with his personality. Though it was normal for most people to be in this predicament, Mohan was not the type that allowed the unknown to challenge him first. Customarily, he would be the first to make a move. 
 
"It has only been a couple of hours. Time is the best remedy for adjusting to issues. Let's see your specs." Mana exited Mohan and gushed into the ring. Cracks started to appear and It showed signs of breaking. He tried to stop the pouring of energy but the ring had already sucked him dry. Six out of seven of his mana points were used. But luckily, it only broke its exterior shell, dashed towards his right hand and fitted itself on his ring finger. It fit so perfectly that no one would have guessed that it was the size of his wrist moments earlier.

"YES! I knew it!" The ecstatic look on his face was almost childish. The specs of the ring instantly appeared in his mind. "Hey there beautiful. I am your new owner now so behave well okay?" Mohan started speaking to the object like a young child.
 
"Elemental endowment huh? My poison magic should suffice that requirement, right?" These questions surfaced in his mind as he fully embraced this new gift. With his last point of mana, Mohan used his left hand to conjure the poison and brought the colorless jewel to the newly formed blob of green stationed in his hand. It slid in without any trouble and the gem started its transformation. A green fire, that looked like it would never be extinguished, was now mounted on the ring.
 
The green flame flickered non stop. It neither was a typical light source nor was heat emitting from it but Mohan did feel his control over poisons increase. He did not know what this new increase entailed but with some experimentation, it would not be too hard to find out. He started to reminisce about the struggle he had to endure to save this magic in one of the allowed slots. On average, almost an entire day of imagining, conceptualizing and practicing (with his limited amount of mana) was needed to fill up each of his four slots. With perception magic being the easiest, the poison was definitely much harder to acquire than wind and sound magic.
 
With all of his mana depleted, it would take another seventy minutes to replenish his stock. So he chose to get some tasks completed. It wouldn't matter if he could not find the remaining four rings. He leaped out of the dungeon and found himself in the middle of the arena once more. The rays of light did not dim at all. Even after a couple of hours of familiarizing with the new environment, the darkness of night did not leave any indications of approaching at all.
 
Now that he had a second to think about it, upon entry, he noticed that the planet was in the middle of an empty vacuum of space. No stars, no sun, and other planets were not around either. So how was there light without a sun? One more question added on to the ever growing list.

His chest felt like it was on fire. Apart from the sound and pain, a whiff of burning flesh ravished his senses. Looking down, sparks were piercing from his chest and flying outward. Only after seeing the book ablaze did he realize what was happening. The flames started a chain reaction that moved across the entire suit from that one location. No fabric from earth was durable enough to withstand this torture.
 
Mohan quickly undressed and threw his outer garments on the floor. Everything turned to ash except for the leather book. He fanned away the smoke before attempting to grab it. As he picked it up, black specs of dust fluttered in the air momentarily before falling to the floor. 
Different wires, motherboards, and circuitry hung from the leathery cover he held in his hand.
 
"THE BOOK!!" He shouted in his own mind.
 
"Was this the tool that was supposed to save the world!?" In front of a monumental screw-up, normal people would be driven insane. If the creator of the book was around to witness what his preparation had turned into, he'd go into a coma that he'd never awake from. But Mohan had enough of this roller coaster of events.
 
"Screw you EMP monster! Screw you magic technology book! And screw you world! Go save yourselves!" He did not dare make that proclamation out loud. No matter how stressed he was, he'd never jeopardize his life for an emotion he could repress.
 
After relieving some stress, a cold breeze prodded his cloth-less body. With sunlight still prevalent, he chose to wear a normal white t-shirt and tan khaki pants. Even with the different armors and battle-suits that had been prepared for him, it would not elevate the danger he had seemingly attracted this entire time. Admitting that the need for strength to survive was crucial, the living creature that was at death's door vexed him more than his lack of power.
 
With a calm mind, the giant bird's body was in front of him once more. Confirming that its vitals gave a sense of regenerative normalcy, he noticed a metal finger logged in its shoulder. He tried to pull it out but the muscles that contracted on the bird's shoulder held it in place well. Mohan kicked the area around the finger, forcefully loosened up the muscles and pulled it out with ease. It did not seem to hurt the bird too much but he hoped that removing it would only have positive results.
 
The finger was the size of Mohan's entire hand and unfortunately, there was no ring on it. While scouring the surrounding area, he mumbled: "It couldn't have gone too far." Underneath the feather of its shoulder, Mohan found the ring. Just like the other, it had a colorless pearl as its gemstone. It disappeared the moment he touched it. He was still recovering mana, so he decided to store it away since he could not activate it now anyways.
 
Without messing the resting position of the bird, Mohan moved a couple of meters away from where he found sprouts that penetrated the softer arena cement floor. He used the separation already created to get a grip of the large tiles and lift them up off the floor. He wanted to earth underneath in order to bury the ashes he found in the prison.
 
With a little under sixty minutes left until he fully recovers, Mohan chose to get this out of the way first. The ground came into view after moving the pieces of rock away. He did not want to dig a deep grave so he tried to use his hands to remove enough soil to be about a meter deep. To his surprise, the ground was extremely firm and hard to simply drill into. He had to use all of his force to reach about twenty cm before getting fatigued.
 
He was already doing more than he owed them so he did not feel compelled to continue digging after regaining his strength. The seven containers were already sitting there waiting for him to open and deposit the remains into the ground. Shortly after opening the lids, the cinders floated up in the air.
 
Mohan did not wait to see what would happen and vanished from his current location. Having confidence in his speed and quick judgment, he showed up roughly thirty meters away. He dared not lower his guard anymore or show any hesitancy.
 
Under his watchful eye, the cinder drifted in the direction of the bird. Without authorization, it entered in the bones that were already poking outside of its body and briskly combined with the existing bone marrow. The bones were forcefully inserted back into its body and the wounds healed at a visible rate. The feathers on its body were slowly mutating. Going from a sharp black look to a more delicate and ash grey  color. It opened its eyes and spooked Mohan. He did not know what its original eye color was but now it had no sclera and its eyes were separated into a three-color cycle: grey, red and lavender.
 
It leered in his direction and those pupils turned lavender. An aura of a majestic fire-born bird was released into the air as it stood up indicating that it was fully healed and more powerful than before. As a result of its new power, that pressure was powerful enough to affect Mohan thirty meters away. The look told him all he needed to know.
 
"It recognized me!"

This is like a classic scene in youth idol dramas. For example, two people go to the library to pick the same book at the same time. Their fingers touch one another, and the sparks fly immediately.
