When all four movements of the "100-Year Period of Destruction" series had finally been completed and released, those specializing in music turned their focus to analysing it.
Yanzhou Music Association, widely regarded as the industry’s most authoritative organization, had a post on their production, "Voice of Yanzhou." On their home page, Dina, a deputy head of the music association, had written an evaluation.
"Is it the pursuit of life or the pondering of the spirit? In the '100-Year Period of Destruction,' the techniques included in the four epic movements have given rise to a new round of investigative probing..."
Shortly after, other professionals followed with their own analysis.
"Explaining the golden points of the fourth movement in the '100-Year Period of Destruction'..."
"Today, where music is so commercialized, symphonic music welcomes yet another peak…"
Other than professionals involved with the industry, yet another group of people were also paying close attention to the music releases.
The medical team setup to observe Ming Ye’s condition had been waiting. From their point of view, the four movements constituted to an entire course of treatment. As soon as the fourth movement was released, they entered a busy stage. The Hull virus was researched by the whole world and seemed to be a difficult problem. It had always seemed as if there was a door blocking the way of research. Now it was as if they had their hands on a set of complete keys to open the door. How much further they could step inside was all up to them.
However, only music industry professionals and medical professionals were following this piece of news. The attention of the rest of the populace was online, following the highly discussed voting battle and other entertainment related topics.
Rising Dragon’s branch in Yanzhou had set up the voting platform. Silver Wing’s Polar Light, Tongshan’s Mi Yu, and Neon Culture’s Andy Leo, these three popular idols were up for votes.
"Who is going to win the endorsement deal for 'Battle of the Century'?"
Previously, some people had said that even if Silver Wing Media produced a virtual idol this time, the competition would still be a two-way battle between the virtual idol powerhouses Neon Culture and Tongshan True Entertainment. But looking at the numbers on the voting board, the distance between them was not that large.
"The gap might seem close, but just wait and see. In two days, there will be an obvious gap. Right now, all three big companies have mobilized their personalities to campaign for votes. "Nope. Weren’t we supposed to gauge the situation first?"
The operation staff member seated in front turned his head and said, "Secondary school students have a long memorial holiday. They are on vacation. It is just them having too much free time."
At this moment, those watching the voting for the endorsement deal realized that from Silver Wing Media’s Polar Light’s column came a flood of comments in a different style.
"For the New World!"
"For the tree men’s glory!"
"Tree men have nothing to fear!"
"The enemy is crafty, to actually call for backup!"

This comment that had just appeared not only made those who had been playing about happily stop, it also caught the attention of the observing masses, as well as the companies.
"Leizhou? Renault’s Leizhou?"
"How did people from Leizhou end up here?"
Originally, only a small number came from Leizhou to join the fun, but following that, more and more people from Leizhou appeared at the message boards.
"Which superstar celebrity of Silver Wing Media managed to do this?" some tried to guess.
But quickly, these thoughts were easily denied after thinking it through.
An intercontinentally developed superstar celebrity would not enter the fray that easily. Participating in such an event would bring about much more influence, even to the point of completely controlling votes. An internationally recognized superstar would have taken a lot of time and effort to reach the top, and their company would not rashly play their card. Besides, the company’s control over such superstars would not be strong. Whether the company said it was for employment relations or for collaborations, the company could not forcefully make such a request.
Therefore, this kind of voting was normally limited to within the continent, and participating in campaigning were only the companies' A-listers and those below. In terms of influence, there were limitations, and there was the blockade of foreign media too. Generally, people from other continents would not take part.
But what was happening now?
"Why are there people from Leizhou?"
Neon culture’s staff thus enquired with Rising Dragon’s branch about such large scale intercontinental campaigning. How was it not against the rules?
Rising Dragon’s Yanzhou branch said that the rules and regulations had never been restricted to the region. This round’s Yanzhou voting platform also had no restrictions regarding voters from other continents.
If one had the capability to garner votes across the world, Rising Dragon would approve with two thumbs up. This was a testament to one’s popularity.
In no time, everyone found out that, on Leizhou’s side, it was Wireless Media that was campaigning for votes.
The industry’s media began to guess that Silver Wing Media and Wireless Media surely had some secret transactions!
At the same time, Leizhou’s Wireless Media had contacted Silver Wing, and they were discussing collaboration matters.
It did not involve music. Wireless Media was a film company. They still had no plans to disrupt Leizhou’s music industry. The collaboration they had in mind was regarding a film arrangement.
Zaro’s Wireless Media had started preparations for the next movie. However, Zaro was not trying to flatter anyone. Rather, he wanted to curry favor for his great-grandfather.
The third movement had gotten him an influential shortcut. Thus, Zaro was serious now, spending a considerable sum to engage a well-known scriptwriter and director. He had decided to film a movie depicting exalted heroes of the war. Zaro himself was going to be acting, and he was brushing up on his acting skills. At the same time, he instructed the company to contact Silver Wing Media regarding a collaboration. Silver Wing’s Polar Light had only started a while back, right? Movies and films will surely come about, so why not collaborate with Wireless Media?
Generally, Leizhou’s film companies would use their local actors. Regardless whether they were real people or virtual idols, using actors from their own continent made it easier to receive the support of the viewing masses. After all, actors had their fan bases within their own continent, making it easier to garner box office sales. However, Zaro’s aim now was not to earn money but rather to win the favor of his great-grandfather. When the fourth movement came out, Zaro used certain means to get the final movement of the "100-Year Period of Destruction" series and send it straight to his great-grandfather. To appear frequently before his great-grandfather would bring about many benefits.
Nowadays, whatever pleased his great-grandfather, Zaro would do. His great-grandfather did not mind people from foreign continents, so he would not either. It did not matter if he earned less or paid more as long as he was able to be in the good books of his great-grandfather, he would have achieved his purpose.
Helping to campaign for votes was a show of Wireless Media’s sincerity.
Even when it got noisy outside, Fang Zhao paid no heed. He sat in his office writing down his composing thoughts as well as some techniques and feelings he used when composing.
He had written some before, and today he would write down the remainder. As for others, he would decide when the time came.
After finishing, he sent the electronic file to Xue Jing.
Somewhere in Qi’an, Xue Jing was writing down his analysis of the fourth movement when he heard a notification and saw that he had received a file from Fang Zhao. After reading through it, Xue Jing just stood blankly on the spot.
For the textbook he was compiling, Xue Jing wanted to discuss with Fang Zhao about his composing philosophy and sources of inspiration. He hoped that Fang Zhao could impart a little of his experience, allowing more people to come in contact with music of this style and learn a few techniques. How much Fang Zhao wanted to impart was all up to him. Xuejing had never expected Fang Zhao to write so much.
A textbook like this normally contained over 100,000 words, at most 200,000. The book would also contain various musical scores and analytical diagrams. Xue jing had only planned to write about 100,000 words, touching more on newer topics that were never raised and briefly mentioning older topics.
The file sent over by Fang Zhao contained 30,000 words! That was already a third of Xue Jing’s estimated word limit. Moreover, it all contained Fang Zhao’s production experiences as well as composing techniques. All that was written was not at all vague. Even though he had included ancient techniques, all his ancient and modern musical techniques were explained very thoroughly.
When Xue Jing finished reading, he immediately contacted Fang Zhao.
"Fang Zhao, do you know the implication of what you have written?!"
One could start a paid training class or accept a few disciples as a means of extra income. Lots of people in the industry did so. However, Fang Zhao had actually written all of his methods down! When this was all placed into a publicly available textbook, it would not bring Fang Zhao as much income.
"I know," Fang Zhao replied. "Are there any problems with the content?"
"There are no issues. I just wanted to ensure that you are really all right with compiling all this?" Xue Jing asked once again.
"Whether to compile or not, the decision lies solely in your hands."
Fang Zhao knew what Xue Jing meant. It was just that he had chosen to share his own experiences and techniques publicly.
He did not know how long he would get to stay in this world. He was grateful for having the chance to once again open his eyes and see the world.
During the end of days, he had thought that, if he had the chance, he wished to pass on every single one of his skills and techniques, if at all possible. Who would not want to live longer?
This life was an unlikely accident. Not everyone would get a chance like this.
He would use whatever experiences and techniques he had learned in his lifetime and leave them in a book that would be passed on to future generations. He hoped that this time, on his gravestone, the words "A composer" would be on it.
Xue Jing sighed deeply upon receiving Fang Zhao’s confirmation.
"...I got it."
Hanging up, Xue Jing remained silent for a while. He then removed Fang Zhao’s name from the column for "Contributors" and placed him in an empty column labeled "Deputy Editor."
On the other end, after the call with Xue Jing ended, Fang Zhao received yet another call from Duan Qianji.
"Come to the top floor office. Ming Cang wishes to thank you in person."

Chapter 4. Essay competition (2)

On Friday, everyone in the school was more excited than usual. It wasn't just one class but the whole school was excited about the idea to leave early.

There were many students who had already made plans to go to karaoke or a movie with their friends. Several couples had also made plans to go on dates.

It was like nobody cared about the essay competition. It was just a trivial matter for them.

"It looks like winning would be easy."

Kei said to Ren while standing besides him.

"It looks like you have prepared hard for the contest."

"Yeah, I am reading and writing different types of essays for a week now."

Kei said looking a little proud of himself.

"Why are even giving this much value to a essay competition?"

"I told you right, I just wanted to give writing a chance."

"Do you really think you can win this competition?"

"I don't know. I will only know after the competition."

"Yeah, well good luck for the competition."

"Good luck to you too."

Kei said as he indulged himself in a book. It was a light novel to be exact.

Various people will think that Kei was being carefree, reading a light novel before the competition but only Ren knew that Kei had a habit of reading light novels whenever he is nervous.

Ren also didn't disturb him and started glancing around the classroom.

He noticed that most of the students had already decided what to write and some were discussing what to write with their friends.

They all had excited expressions not because of the essay competition but because they will be able to leave early today.

At that moment, the door opened and the teacher entered with a stack of papers.

The entire class fell silent seeing Shiki sensei entering the classroom. The essay competition was basically a test, requiring every homeroom teacher to oversee their respective classes.

"Take one and pass it to the person behind you. You may begin as soon as you receive your paper." 

Shiki sensei said as he passed the papers. Ren received the paper from the person in his front.

The paper was white and there were topics to choose between for the essay. There were various topics like friends, family, teachers, love, school, animals etc.

'What do I choose?'

Ren wasn't able to choose between the topics. He wasn't taking the essay competition seriously in the first place but he didn't knew what you write.

He glanced around at the classroom only to notice that excluding him, all the classmates were writing. Even Kei was writing something.

Some students were also whispering among themselves asking each other what they are going to write about. Shiki sensei didn't say anything to their behaviour.

He wasn't known for being strict in the first place, so he just let them do it.

Ren glanced around at his paper trying to find a topic he wanted to write about. As he was searching for a topic, he vision got struck on a topic at the very corner of the paper.

'Genius.'

It was a topic that didn't stand out much and Ren knew that many people will not write about this topic.

But Ren felt a connection to this word. It was a word that was stuck closely to his previous life.

Thinking about that word, Ren had a sudden impulse to write. It was a entirely different feeling. At first, he didn't take the competition seriously but now he just wanted to write.

It was a impulsive feeling to write but Ren didn't do anything about it. Before he knew it, he had a pen in his hand and his hands were writing something.

It's been quite a few days since he had came to this world but Ren hadn't write about anything. 

He knew that he had said that he will start his second life as a author if he got the chance but after coming to this world, Ren didn't have a impulse to write.

He didn't wanted to write anything half-assed only to fail again. He also wanted to take sometime to adjust to his new life.

Another reason was that he wanted to relax for sometime. In his previous life, he was continuously working, so he wanted to relax for a bit.

He also needed time to adjust to his new life. Due to these reasons, he hadn't wrote anything after coming to this world.

You could even say he hadn't found anything to write about yet but as soon as he saw the word 'Genius', the words immediately started coming out and before he knew it, he had already written on most of the paper.

"Time is up. Submit your paper quickly."

As he was writing, he heard Shiki sensei voice which woke him up from his writing trance. 

Ren glanced around the classroom and noticed that most of the students had already left the classroom. The classroom was empty and there were only four people including Shiki sensei.

First one was Ren, second was Kei and the third was a student sitting in the first bench of the first row.

Ren wasn't able to see his face as he was still writing.

"Didn't you three hear me? I said that time was finished."

Shiki sensei shouted again and this time finally everyone stopped writing.

Kei and the student sitting in the front row hastily gave their papers to Shiki sensei and after taking their paper, Shiki sensei looked towards Ren.

"Amano, your paper."

"Ha….here."

Ren stood up as he hastily gave his paper to Shiki sensei. He didn't wanted to submit his paper as he had not completed it but he had no choice as the time was finished.

As soon as Ren submitted his paper, Shiki sensei left the classroom with the same stack of papers he had entered the classroom with, the only difference was that this time the papers were filled with words.

"Did your essay went well?"

Kei asked him as he came close to him.

"I don't know how it went but I wrote with my heart."

"My essay also went well. I am just worried about it's ending. I don't have enough time to complete it."

"What did you write about?"

"Oh, I wrote about dreams."

Ren didn't remember about that topic but there were a lot of topics and he didn't remember all of them.

"You unexpectedly stayed till the end, huh."

"What do you mean?" Ren asked confusingly.

"I mean, I thought you will just write something half-assed and left like the other students and I will be the only one left till the end."

"Well, I just wrote what came to my mind and you know, there is another person who stayed till the end."

Ren said as he glanced at the other boy who stayed till the end.

"Ah, that's Minami Ryuu."

"You know about him."

Kei looked at Ren with a confused expression as he said.

"How can you not know about him when you are in the same class and he is also very popular."

"Popular? Is he famous."

"Famous? That word isn't enough to describe him. He is super famous. He is handsome, his grades are one of the top and he always excels at sports. He is one of the most famous student in the school."

"Really?"

Ren again glanced at Minami who was packing his bag and preparing to leave.

'I admit he's handsome.'

He was indeed handsome. With brown hair and a sharp and handsome face, he indeed looked fairly handsome. 

"I wonder why that person stayed till the end."

"Maybe, he's interesting in writing."

When Ren said that, Kei had a weird expression as he said.

"It could be that but he is always with his group of friends and there are also rumours about him dating various girls. That type of person would rather spend his time going to karaoke with his friends than writing."

"I wonder but it isn't our place to pay attention to. Let's go home."

"Yeah, do you want to come to my house to play the new dating sim."

"No, I have something to do today."

Fame, wealth, prestige, genius, destruction, despair, loss and failure.

Those are the eight words which describes Ren's life completely.

He was hailed as a genius but his arrogance led him to despair. From a genius, he became a failure.

He was just struggling with his life when fate gave him a second chance.

Now, what will he do after he found himself waking up in another world.

As I previously said , the purpose of this book is to free myself . From my thoughts . By thinking them over before writing them , and analyzing them with the cold reasoning Sherlock Holmes himself uses . Without being emotional . Because everything that is emotional is opposite to that cold judgement . I know one of the chapters made me cry so bad , but that is because that wound is this open . It hasn't healed yet . And it won't so soon . But the others were long healed . I just wanted to remember and to live throught those moments again . Those were made to make me more understandable by you , my reader , and to feel like I'm really getting rid of any hate for them . 
This is the first book I've ever published , and I'm doing it every day . However , this isn't the first time I write my thought . You name it : diary , notepad , lines , songs , poems . The most disturbing ones were for the notepad on my computer . I usually cried while writing them , for I put my very heart and opinion into them . But as time flew , I deleted some of them , scared someone could find them , but even more because they were impulses . That short impulse made me feel so many emotions , which gradually calmed me by writing them . So I deleted them . I kept only 2 . Which are my general opinion about daily topics . I will gradually repost them here , so you can see how a short impulse can generate so many words and so many emotions . 
This book also serves as an exercise itself . Funny , right ? It's like a track daily diary , were I put my most personal opinions and give the earnest pieces of advice , leaving a mark on this earth and life , while learning how to love myself . It's the evidence that I'm trying everyday to stop procrastinating , to growing , to glowing , and to improving more other things . This is also my way of communicating deeper topics , which I cannot bring myself to say with my own mouth . As a surprise , this is my first attempt of writing something freely , before getting into designing characters . I want to make a story composed 100% by me . I don't aspire to be a miracle writer , like JK Rowling , but at least I can do something that pleases me , and others , without feeling like I should put the latter one on a pedestal . How I actually do . I don't want to pursue a writing life , because in the future I would be feeding some mouths , so I need to make a living . I'm not saying writers don't earn much , but before that there are lots of ups and downs , and I need to take care of people who took care of me . 
So what kind of book would you be interested in ? A thriller ? A drama ? A romantic comedy ? Strange enough , I'm an incurable romantic , but also an action lover . Be prepared for everything . 
Just you wait . Tell me the blessing you had today . For me , it might be the chance to make things as I want them to be . For being completely in control . For having parents that understand that I can purchase anything wisely . 

a book without a genre . it's genre depends on you . if you are in love , it'll be romance . if you are sad , it'll be a tragedy. if you are happy , it'll be a comedy . it's not a will nor a diary , but it's made to free both the writer , and the reader .

I'll be executed?
I kept silent as he continued.
"The next test is two days from now, which means you will be spending almost all of your time in this library learning the bare minimum on politics. Supplies will be given to you for studying after lunch, but for now these are the textbooks that we'll be using. We don't have enough time to go over everything in the textbooks, so we'll go over 4 topics- one in between each meal. You'll have the time before breakfast and after dinner to yourself, so use the time wisely. You'll be tested on the third day before the test with everyone else. Any questions?"
"May I ask why a guard isn't teaching me the material?"
 He gave gave me an icy stare. 
"Are you questioning me?"
"N-No, Your Highness. I just didn't want to waste your time," I said, bowing my head.
"I'm quite aware of how I'm spending my time. Anymore questions?"
"Y-yes, Your Majesty. Is the exam the same one as the one I took in the previous test, or is it different?"
"I will personally be making your exam, so I suggest you don't slack off during any of my teaching," he warned.
"Yes, Your Majesty." 

With that, he started instructing. He pulled out a chalk board and started writing things down at relentless speeds. I thanked God that I had thought to bring a notebook and pen before this whole thing started. I scribbled down what he wrote faster than I thought I knew how to write. He didn't spare a single second, feeding me information and definitions. He explained as he wrote, forcing me to try to multi-task. It pushed me to limits I didn't even know I had when it came to learning.  It was actually the first time in a while that I had a genuinely challenging experience. The King seemed to excel at explaining the subject, so most of the material made sense. I struggled to write down the important points he was saying as well as writing, but eventually got everything down. We went over so many definitions, I could barely remember any of them. And I knew I was going to have to review the notes and memorize them. Without realizing it, a maid came in and told us about the prepared lunch. I almost hugged her on the spot, desperate for a break. So much material was crammed and pushed into my brain, that if I didn't get a moment to look back over it, I would loose it all.

"It seems that I got a bit carried away. We already went over an entire unit... Were you able to keep up?" He asked.
"I believe so, Your Majesty,"I said weakly.
"Then I'll give you a quiz after lunch to see if we need to go over anything."
No way.
"....Of course, Your Highness."
He nodded and strode out of the room with me following behind. We were the first people there, as the King preferred to be there before any of the other girls. I sat down at the seat I was at for breakfast and opened my note book, reciting the information. I kept reading over certain vocabulary, underlining certain parts. If the quiz was multiple choice, than I could study normally, but I had a feeling that a quiz given at short notice, would be short answer. If it was, than I would actually have to memorize the definitions, understand what they are, and how to apply them. I practiced writing down the definitions by memory and reviewed the points that were given. Once I was able to write down most of the words by heart, I started eating. 

All of the girls were halfway through their meal, while I just started. 

The girl from before caught my attention, "Hey, where were you? I looked for you everywhere."
"I was still in the library."
"When do you want to go over cotillion?" She asked.
Oh no, I forgot.
"Could we do it after dinner?"
"Sure, but I'm not sure how much I can cover. I'll try to just give you all of the important information."
"Alright, thank you so much, again, for your help."
"No problem," she smiled. I weakly returned it. I looked down at my food, slowly taking another bite.
How am I gonna learn all of this in time for the next test?
I looked at my notebook again. Taking one last bite, I opened it again and continued to study.

Soon enough lunch ended, and I dreadfully walked down to the library, waiting for the king. I tried to cram even more into my head, not wanting to miss anything.

"Are you ready?" The king asked coming in.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
He handed me the paper and I wrote my name on it. Just as I thought, everything was short answer and mostly difficult questions. But I could answer most of it. In about 30 minutes I finished the assessment and handed it to him. He took out his pen and looked over the paper. The maids must have switched out a chair for him, because a much more extravagant chair was there where he was sitting. He had a pretty blank expression as he read over my answers. After marking things once or twice he looked to me, and I kept my head down. My heart rate increased hoping he wouldn't just execute me if my score wasn't good enough on the first quiz.

"You did surprisingly well. 92%," he announced, handing back the paper.
"We don't have to go over anything really. You just made small mistakes. Although, I don't forgive mistakes normally, it is a quiz, and overall it was done well. Better than I expected at least."
He seemed to think for a moment before continuing, "I want to see how far I can push you with this. I originally only planned to go over four topics, but since we already went over a whole unit, we could probably go further."
We already went over the topics? Then doesn't he already know that I can learn? Why do we have to continue? Plus, he's already worked me to my hardest, I don't know what he's talking about.

"If we really want, then we could finish another unit today and do an accumulative test tomorrow."

Oh my God, please no.

"Do you think you could handle it?" The king asked.
"...If you would like to, then I will put forth my best effort not to let you down, Your Majesty."
"You don't seem too confident," he noted.
"I'm sorry, Your Majesty."
"Why?" He asked.
"... I'm not sure if I can learn another unit and still meet your expectations , but I'll do whatever you wish, Your Majesty," I answered.
"Hmmm, good. Then we'll do 2 units per day and test on them the morning of the next test."

Oh fun, I get to face the chance of execution more than once in one day.

"Let's get started," he said. With that I suffered another 3 hours of rushed lessons. By the time I was done, my notebook was already 1/3 used. Again we moved to dinner with a few summarizing points. I was actually worried about my ability to remember any of the information. It seemed to be so much in such a little amount of time. I couldn't even start on the food worried about my ability to remember . I once again reviewed the material mercilessly, not listening to anything going on around me.
"Eleana," A voice cut their the air, grabbing my attention. I detached my eyes from the words on the page and looked to see that the king had called my name.

"... Yes, Your highness," I replied. I closed the notes and started to take bites out of the food. Instead, I just tried to think about the new definitions and topics, pulling as much from memory as I could.

 If I couldn't look through the notes on paper, I'll just do so in my head.

Once dinner ended, I was dragged by Sofia into my room.
"Finally, we can start on our lessons," she said. I followed along, hiding the reluctance that made me want to plop on the floor and sleep.

Hey Readers! (If I end up getting any...) This story starts out pretty slow but I PROMISE it picks up. My writing style includes a lot of unneccessary detail (I'm still practicing and trying to improve my skills so please be patient) but I hope you all enjoy the story! Olive is the classic mean rich girl, supposedly perfect in every way. 

What happens when everything begins to fold inward, creating an inescapable and scary spiral leading towards what happens on the bridge that night?

Prologue: The Story behind Eranoth's Lore-books.

Eranoth stared at the blank pages of his outdated version of Microsoft word. "Growing up, I studied a large assortment of really random stuff in depth. How do I make this useful?" He asked his elder sister, RedPandaChick. 
"I don't have an answer for you, however, I am using my knowledge in writing. Using actual knowledge and applying it to my stories is great!" She replied.
"I'm doing that, but it doesn't seem like enough." Eranoth thought for a bit. My research has almost no real life application though… "Wait! I have an idea!"
RedPandaChick looked up. "Oh?"
"I have wanted to compile my research on various topics into one place anyways. Why don't I write it down and share it. Others can then learn different ways to apply story aspects and I can make my odd knowledge useful!"
The elder sister smiled. "That sounds like a great idea! There is another author that the people in the webnovel chat on discord they call "Wikipedia" because they have answers to a lot of things. This could be a great way for you to get involved in webnovel before you get further in your actual novels."
Eranoth smiled. "I think the other authors may appreciate it."
"I think more than just other authors will appreciate it." She replied.
Eranoth excitedly got to work. Hoping that Eranoth's book of lore research is well liked despite the limited story being told. 
The adult male started writing. "To the readers: As most of the content has actually been created through extrapolation and pondering on the subjects in question rather than from a website or specific sources, there will be very few reference links to actual resources. To authors that are struggling with means to understand the intricacies of things, feel free to message me a "subject" you wish for help understanding. While I cannot guarantee accuracy, especially if it is out of my realm of expertise, the lore I write in these books are fantastic ways to apply concepts. Happy writing!"

Lore Book 1: Shapeshifting: An in depth on the myriad methods of creating change to oneself or others. 

Chapter 1: The basics of shapeshifting

 "Most people think of shapeshifting in a few simple ways." Eranoth muttered to himself as he pondered how to simplify the explanation for chapter 1. "The most commonly accepted method is known as blood-shifting even though most don't call it that. Blood shifting has a few sub-categories but that is for another chapter or 3..." 
Relaxing Gameboy Pokemon music played on youtube as he wrote.
He pet the cat sized white tiger plushy RedPandaChick got him while she was at the zoo last time. "How would you explain it?" 
The inanimate object did not respond. 
Eranoth steeled his nerves as this was something he had put off for years. "Over the ages many people have tried to give shapeshifting a very esoteric definition. For the sake of simplicity I am going to use the following very broad definition. *Shapeshifting is the act of changing from one shape into another.* This broad explanation is actually very inclusive and brings in topics not commonly associated with shapeshifting. But that is a topic for another chapter."
"Shapeshifting has many names. Some of these include: Form shifting, Mutating, Evolving, adaption, Transforming and so on. Despite the fact that these names talk about the same 'over-arching concept', they are actually very different when you get down to the nitty gritty. " 
"Logic is a difficult thing to have when involving shapeshifting outside of the 'norm'. Think about it, how can a frog suddenly become a rabbit? When push comes to shove, how does it actually work? Magically?"
Eranoth face palmed at his own sarcasm.  "Sorry, allow me to clarify. When writing about a magic there is a 'logical' explanation for that magic, how it works, and so on within the realm the magic exists in. Often times, the 'how it works' for shapeshifting, magical or not, is glazed over, especially when it isn't the primary focus of the story. Lawless shapeshifting can actually lore break."
"Take Legendary Moonlight Sculpture for example. There is a low level npc evil priest that casts a transformation type unholy spell and turns a soldier from the enemy into a ferocious wolf that attacks his own best friends. The soldier couldn't stop it or resist. Holy! That is powerful! Why not use that spell to destroy an army rather than a fireball?"
Now let's turn our attention to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For those who have not read it, I won't go into detail to avoid spoilers. My personal favorite chapter in that whole book is a lore broken transfiguration spell. The target couldn't resist. Their wand fell to the floor. They couldn't use their magic as a result and they became a harmless critter completely at the mercy of the caster. If that much power could be used from a simple spell, then couldn't the dark lord have been stopped ages ago by being turned into a pocket watch?"
Eranoth laughed to himself. "In games it is the same. The MC saves A B and C from transformation curse. But if you really thought about it, if the curse were cast on the MC wouldn't the story suddenly end? Instant game over? Another in game example, MC uses transformation spell to perform task D. They are able to pull it off flawlessly and nobody suspects a thing."
The old pokemon music ended and Eranoth pulled up another song by a remixer named Kamex.  He took a deep breath after complaining about ads about liberty mutual and google fi.
"As you can see, lawless shapeshifing can lead to a plethora of questions and break the lore of a story. However, Shapeshifting shouldn't be a taboo. In fact, when I start posting my own stories on webnovel, you will see that shapeshifting can actually amplify the story or allow for a very different way to affect a story. To be honest, I haven't read many people's works yet. However, I want to applaud the writer Harry_Dresden in regards to his comprehension of shapeshifting within the world of his book Werewolf in another world. Even though it is the easiest of the lore to find information regarding, (Conditional Bloodshifting and Illusion-shifting), every time transformations are involved in his story, the lore is maintained."
"When involving most things in a story, you should consider a few things. What purpose does it have? How does it work within the world I have created? Shapeshifting has a bit more to consider as well. What is the cost? What is the result? How does it happen? Does it end? ETC."
Eranoth put his face into his hands thinking that this is probably too much of an info dump despite the fact that the entirety of the book is intended to be an info dump.  "I should take a break and prepare the chicken I will be using for dinner." He said as he left his computer behind before getting ready to write chapter 2.

At that moment, Dara was thinking frantically what kind of people they were? Who are they? Obviously not the Mongoloids, but also not the Türks, not the Huns, not the northern Chinese tribes? Ahh ... this is the first century of our era ... the Turks have not come yet, the Ephtalites - the white Huns came only in the second century of our era ... who is it? Obviously not Greeks ... and not Macedonians, remnants of the garrisons of Macedon ...

.... ahh, I think I get it ...

... are Iranian-speaking tribes ... Sakki? Sarmatians?

... no ... but maybe ... yes, I'm sure these are Sogdians ...

"Oh, oh, I didn't read modern Chinese novels, hell knows what the levels are ... but if you assume that heaven is the coolest, then the rest is easier ...".

"No, we have a different gradation!" Insolently said, Dara.

"We use the knowledge of our ancestors ..." damn, we have a different standard ... for sure, take Tibetan or Persian, even Persian is better ...

What is he like? - Highlander asked with interest.

Hello everyone thank you for reading the story. I have worked very hard on it and I have spent a lot of days thinking about if I should publish each and every thing. A lot of people tell me that my story sounds unrealistic. I think that it sounds very religious and it kind of is a religious story and this does it maintain what happens in my life and also maintains what happens in my friends lives and others that I know. A lot of people tell me that I shouldn't post religious stories because people have a lot of different beliefs but I say that people should learn about the religions even if they don't follow them. I also think that this is a good way for me to express how I feel about my religion and that I think that everyone should feel that they can express their selves in a better way by writing it and speaking it through their own way even if some people cannot comprehend what their writing has in it. This chapter is a very emotional chapter for me because I really like to spread my opinion on certain topics and this is one that I really like to talk about but I know some people will not agree with that. I hope that you understand and try your best to comprehend what this is about. It's just me trying to suck my self and thanking you all for reading the story so far and I hope that you guys don't feel like it you're obligated to give me Power stones or anything because I just wanna do the story for my own purposes which is expressing myself. So if you reach up to here I would thank you a lot and I hope you expect a lot more beautiful chapters to come your way.
