Chapter 3
~Surveillance~
Scarlet's POV
            For six hours, Marcelo and I watch as the probes go across the land of Earth 2.0. So far they've shown beautiful plants, in all shapes and colors. Some plants, back on Earth, that might grow in tropical weather grow in circles we call 'hot spots' were the weather is surprisingly warmer according to the heat signatures the probes are picking up. The 'hot spots' are big masses of land that are tropical weather warm, while other spots, the 'cold spots' are what they're called, were nothing grows and it's so cold that no life can live there. I disagree with Marcelo on that point though, that no life can live in the cold spots.
            "Back on Earth cold organisms microscopic sized could live in the bottoms of the ocean, and in certain areas were cold water was, same with extreme heat." I answered. Marcelo shrugged.
            "I know that, but these spots… They're worse than sub zero. Worse than the desert." Marcelo answered, just was the probe took pictures of a spot where everything was basically desert, and no organisms or signs of life lived their either. I scowled at Marcelo.
            "Why don't the probes pick up the microscopic organisms? I know there's got to be some their!" I tell him as I stare at the screen. Marcelo laughs.
            "You really want organisms to live on the land don't you? Well I want to be able to land. This ship was only built to last about five years in outer space. The creators hated the fact that they had to send us into space without doing a complete search of the planet itself." Marcelo answers, and he clicks a button to make the probe go closer to the sand. Out of nowhere, something grabs the probe and smashes it from the sand. Our screen goes blank. I gasp and scoot away from the screen. Marcelo scowls.
            "Maybe the creatures in the water have a reason to now to on land." Marcelo says. He goes back through the video the probe took. After a minute, he notices a slight difference in heat signature within the sand. The same goes for in the cold spots, were there's a slight change.
            "I'm going to tell all the probes to stay twenty feet above the ground, just to make sure nothing else snatches them up. We were lucky more of the probes haven't been taken out." Marcelo says. I nod, and watch as the camera moves way from the ground. Something… dark reaches from one of the cold spots and goes toward the probes camera, but the probe moves higher and to the twenty feet mark. The dark thing doesn't smash it to the ground, but disappears back into the ice.
            "I don't think we should go near the desert spots or the cold spots." I mutter.
            "Indeed. Maybe these are the reasons the sea creatures don't stay on land longer then they have to." Marcelo says. I frown.
            "Can you check those tropical spots; were the beautiful plants were and take some samples?" I ask. The tropical spots are big enough for people to live in, but I don't want to have to cut down vegetation in order to move to a dangerous planet we might not even be able to survive on.  Something reaches for the probe as it enters the tropical spot, but it's from one of the desert areas. The probe flies higher, and the thin can't get it.
            "Those things that reach out from the desert and cold spots… They look octopus tentacles." I remark, staring back at the replay from the probe. Marcelo nods, his face in a scowl.
            "It looks like they don't go in the tropical areas. These patches of green look like they're safe from those… things too." Marcelo remarks. I nod.
            "Have we ever caught the whole birthing season when the sea creatures are on the beach giving birth?" I ask. Marcelo shakes his head.
            "We arrived at the end of it, I believe. There should be another one in a few months though. Let's just hope we solve this before it gets too bad here." Marcelo answers. I nod, and copy all of the information from the videos down into a flash drive.
            "I'll go show Marie what I found." I tell Marcelo. He nods, and I walk out of the room. All of the sudden, arms are around my waste and my mouth. I move left and right, struggling to get away before I hear someone.
            "Shh, it's me." Dad says. I look up and scowl at him. He motions for me to shh, and then he begins to walk over to a door. I follow, being as quiet as I can.
            "Yes, it is a problem… They want humans for peace, but who says once we get onto the Earth that they won't just take them anyway?" A familiar voice says. I can't quite put it to a name… I think it's one of the captains of the ship.
            "It's possible we just bomb them out of the land and sea?" Another voice says.
            "We could, but it would take a lot of time to build the bombs, and the only people who have access to the materials are Marie." The other voice answers.
            "True but…"  They're cut off when I slip as I lean in to hear them, and the door opens. Dad and I run away from the door, before either of them can see us. We enter into the head of the ship, and hide behind a desk. Outside we can hear footsteps, and the same two voices wondering where we went off to. The footsteps leave after a moment.
            "Who were they?" I ask dad, out of breath. Dad has a scowl on his face, and he turns to me.
            "Those were two of the people Marie allowed to live, you know that were on the Farms?" dad asks. I nod. "They want to try and make people go onto the Earth, but they want the them to become slaves." Dad says, he has a worried expression. I explain to him the cold spots, the deserts, and the tropical areas.
            " Dad these things in the deserts and cold spots… they're dangerous. We can't go near them, and the tropical spots look like the only place safe away from them. Maybe the sea creatures are they're enemy? Maybe they are the reason the sea creatures can't go on land more than they do?" I suggest. Dad nods.
            "We have to tell Marie. I don't know if she'll believe us though, considering we were just unfrozen, and the others have all been unfrozen for a long time." Dad mutters. I scowl.
            "She'll believe us dad. We have no reason to lie." I answer. Before dad can answer, there's a commotion outside. Dad and I exchange glances, before we run out into the hallway. We go to the room were the frozen people are at. In row D, a man has been unfrozen and lays on the cold ground, surrounded by liquid. Marcelo is next to him, tears in his eyes. People from the farms and from the leaders bunker all watch the two of them. Marie and Reggie both run over to the scene.
            "What happened?" Marie asks. Marcelo turns to Marie.
            "Someone unfroze and drowned my sister!" he says loudly. People gasp all around, and Marie looks at the farms people.
            "All of you, back to your homes! This will be settled." Marie says. She walks over and leans down next to Marcelo.
            "Everything's going to be okay." She whispers to him. I frown, and wait for everyone to leave. Dad waits behind the corner with me. When Reggie and Marcelo take the body away, dad and I stop Marie before she can leave.
            "Someone's a traitor." Dad says. Marie frowns at him, and we go to the captains quarters were nobody else is at to talk about what dad and I've found. At first Marie is quiet. She grows shocked when dad suggests two of her close members, other than Reggie and Marcelo. Finally Marie motions for dad to stop talking. Dad gives me a look 'I told you so' as Marie begins to talk.
            "I don't think anyone aboard my ship is going to start unfreezing people just because they want to sell the frozen to slavery. Do you think I don't trust anyone here?" Marie asks.
            "Well I don't, and I don't care if you don't believe me. But pretty soon your not going to have power, and I want to protect my daughter Marie. We are your friends, we just want to help." Dad says. Marie looks hurt for a minute, before someone calls her. Marie walks away without saying anything more to us.
            "Now what?" I ask dad. He frowns.
            "We find out who's trying to kill people and sell the rest of us to slavery." Dad answers, as he leaves the room. I follow him out.
            Ten minutes later, we've found a security camera that nobody's using. Dad hooks it up to the room those two people were talking in earlier. They've left now, probably spooked off by the fact that someone might have listened to their conversation. I'm watching the door to make sure nobody enters the room. It takes dad about ten minutes to set the camera up properly, and five more minutes to hook it up to a screen in his room. When he finishes hiding the camera behind a very tall plant, we make our way back to our rooms. Since dad's room is across from mine, we should be alright.
            "Take a nap or something... Just don't leave your room without me." Dad says, and he looks tired. I nod, and open my room. I check around for cameras or hidden mics. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, and my search comes up empty. I check the cabinets, the drawer's under the think, under my mattress, even under the bed. Sighing, I sit on my bed. After a minute, I lay down. I have nothing to do, and I don't really know where anything is. I'd much rather be exploring then just sitting doing nothing. My luck turns when Marie runs into my room, her face stricken with worry.
            "Where's your dad?" she asks, she sounds like she's out of breath.
            "He's in his room." I answer sitting up, and I give her a worried expression. She waves at me before turning around to go to my dad's room. I follow her.
            "He's not here!"Marie says, her voice high.
            "What's wrong Marie?" I ask, frowning. She turns to me, and for the first time I see the stress on her. Her hair is half up and half down, and in fuzzy patches with streaks of white hair through it. Her shirt is muffled, and her hand is shaking.
            "I need talk to..." her voice is cut off by a loud siren and a female voice over the speaker.
            "Emergency...emergency... everyone to the bunkers. This ship's on lock down! A leak has sprung, emergency landing in two minutes. Emergency, emergency. Everyone to the bunkers! This is a code red, the ships set for an emergency landing." The intercom repeats it a few more times, and Marie grabs my hand. Together we run down the hall, past the area were the farms, to a huge room beside all of the frozen people, and I watch as people buckle themselves into the wall that has padded seats connected to it. People come running in from all doors, scrambling to get to a seat. Marie continues on to the head of the ship, were her nine leader's are at, plus my dad. He's commanding the crew to do something, but they all have panicked expressions on their faces.
            "Buckle yourselves in! Brace for landing!" Marie yells to them. She grabs me and buckles us into her seat. Dad buckles himself into an extra seat along the wall, and watches as Earth 2.0 comes closer and closer to the ship.
            "This is going to be a bumpy landing!" Reggie yells to us, as he sits at the control center. Marcelo is beside him, telling Reggie to land for one of the tropical areas.
            "All other areas are off limits. These one's we have a slight chance at living in. But I advise that nobody leaves the ship until I've done a search through the tropical areas." Marcelo yells to Reggie, over the sirens. Reggie nods, and stir's the ship toward were Marcelo pointed out. Marcelo has no signs of earlier devastation. Now he looks focused and sure of himself. Damion takes control of the panel beside Reggie. Marcelo moves to watch the camera's and buckle himself in. A rather tall guy runs in the room, looks over at Marie, and smiles before he buckles himself in by dad. I think that's Dr. Marcus Antonio, Marie's husband. A second after he's buckled in and I hear the snap of the buckle, there's a large crash, silence, then a bump. My head snaps forward, and everything around me turns black.

Earth 2.0 was found in 1995, almost over 160 exo-planets has been found since then. This new planet, which is only about five times bigger than Earth, is the smallest exo-planet ever found orbiting a star. By the year 2030, life and civilization has advanced enough to travel at light speed in space, and explore other more outer planets besides just sending probes and satellites to take pictures. For the first time a ship with a manned crew has been assigned to explore planet OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb, or Earth 2.0 as named by NASA's youngest scientist and co-leader of the manned mission to this new Earth, Marie Antonia. Probes and bots have all been sent to explore this Earth, and have brought back positive signs of humans being able to possibly live on this new Earth. Earth 2. 0 is around 25 000 light-years away from Earth, close to the center of our own galaxy, the Milky Way. It has an orbital period of 10 years and is about three times as far from its parent star as Earth is from our Sun.
First believed that this new planet would be cold, probes proved NASA scientist wrong. Images brought back shows signs of active water, huge masses of water and land all over the planet, as well as signs of planets and vegetation. However, no sign of animals or anything living have been spotted yet. It's believed that this planet has not yet evolved enough to manifest life on it's own. Excitement brought the NASA scientist to a halt when they arrived on the planet to find out they were wrong, dead wrong.
Now only does the planet hold living life, but the life the planet holds is bigger and stronger than any human on Earth. The spaceship UNA-1 sparked a leak right as they entered near Earth 2.0, and needed an emergency landing. The crew, holding 400 frozen humans in its cargo hold, are all aware now that life upon Earth 2.0 would be way different and that the could be risking the lives of 400 frozen humans, landed.
The crew consists of ten people, four crew letting leaders, four control Engineers, and two citizens: an army soldier and his daughter who were accidentally unfrozen by the crew's co. captain John. S. Reginald.
Sargent Henry Smith has been an soldier in the U.S. Army for ten years, and now accompanies the UNA-1 crew as part of an United States program to send humans to this new Earth. The first 400 people are supposed to set up a colony and start preparing for more people to join them on Earth 2.0. Current Earth is experiencing major catastrophes: Earthquakes, Volcanic Eruptions, huge tsunamis, and over 9.7% of the world is now under water. 3% of humans left on Earth await in strong holds either in the Ocean, or above the ocean were little land is left for news that they can now travel to Earth 2.0 and make it their new home.
Sargent Henry Smith agreed to go through this program for one reason only: his daughter Scarlet. Scarlet is a sixteen year old girl who's experienced her whole life on a chaotic Earth. Henry hopes to provide a new place to live for his only daughter, and the rest of humanity that still lives.
Watch as the Crew embarks on a new journey, to Earth 2.0 and they difficulties they face with the life that has already claimed the Earth. Will it be a battle for the residence already their? Will the humans chase them away, or worse, will they become slaves to this alien race upon the new planet?

In the early morning, Zhang Zian was woken up on time by his biological clock.

Hong er stared at Bai Huiqing with eyes full of sparkles, expecting Bai Huiqing to explain everything to her.

Bai Huiqing: "As you can see, this is cold jade marble and this stone is basically low in temperature. So I made a device that could release cold air and most importantly, it can operate even without having us to use our Qi all the time." 

(A/N: I don't really have knowledge about stones but my father liked to collect stones. So he had this big stone just below my A/C, I always put my feet on it and it feels GREAT. My country is tropical, everyday is hot and humid.)

Lu Cixi: "Wow! What a brilliant idea."

Bai Huiqing: "I also made a small stone which we could pour our Qi in it to the fullest and then use it."

"People! New update," Kelderian declared as he dramatically exited his office and called everyone in his department together. "Everyone, this is of urgent priority: find the GOAT Flyer series. Call the head office, go through third parties or middlemen, go to shoe collector sites, I don't care how you get your hands on them. I want the complete GOAT Flyer series and I want them yesterday."
"What got you getting us to buy shoes, boss?" one of the higher-ranked employees asked.
"Mr. Smithson just had the sudden urge to collect the entire GOAT Flyer series," Kelderian answered solemnly.
"You heard the man! Everyone, let's get to looking and earn our keep!" the employee who asked about buying shoes yelled out to the crowd of employees assembled.
"One more thing, though," Kelderian added, right before the employee got the other workers fired up. "Two pairs each in the product line."
"Okay, two pairs it will – what do you mean, two pairs? Collectors only need one!"
"Well, he's going to wear a pair and collect the other. Do your best, everyone."
"Okay! You heard the boss! GOAT Flyers, two pairs of each release, let's get to it!" the employee declared to everyone in the office, and with a gathered yell of "YEAH!", they went back to their work with a renewed vigor.
However, before he went back to work, the employee shook his head and muttered something he thought Kelderian wouldn't hear.
"You're right, he is a weirdo. But remember, he's OUR weirdo," the boss replied with a smile, and let his employee leave.

"What a grind, Liam."
"You're only saying that because you have the fire suit, not me!" 
While the task of hunting had become attainable thanks to Jake and Liam discovering the power that their division master gifted to them, the Burning Forest was still a forbidding location to hunt in.
Sweat poured in rivers as they fought, flaming spirits assailed them at every turn, and the environment would scorch a lesser awakener to death, even fighting was a tightrope as the two awakeners had to avoid the burning trees, despite Jake having a high-performance fireproof suit of his own.
It was bad enough that they placed makeshift landmarks on where they were fighting before they ran out the dungeon to eat and sleep, returning the next day to fight again.
"Yes, the Bunker Gear is way too awesome."
"Good for you," Liam replied, "now let's blow this joint once we're done. This heat is ridiculous."
Despite not having the Bunker Gear, Liam was able to hold his own in this place, thanks to the gift the old man gave him – it was like what Jake called his Bankroll, but manifested slightly differently.
"You're dealing with it well enough, though. Is it really that hot?"
"Yes, and if it wasn't for Gramps helping me out, I wouldn't even be here. This power is amazing, and it's enhancing my own skills to an amazing degree so that the fire barely registers. It's still hot as heck here, though."
"Once you get used to the heat, these guys are actually small fry," Jake said, as he was able to start understanding the true power of his Bankroll ability. "Come on, we're done here."
If mana was magic power, the Bankroll felt like something more primal, more focused – to the point where it could allow him to harm and hunt monsters like the Flame Spirit.
Something like this needed to be looked into further, but not at this moment, as Jake Smithson had other priorities: namely, the 430,000 points he collected while hunting.
More than enough to buy the items in the event.
'It always feels like the first time,' Jake thought. 'Butterflies in my stomach, heightened awareness… it's like shopping always gives me the perfect high…'
It's this feeling that he always comes back to: despite shopping for a very long time, he is always overcome with nerves up to the moment where he makes a purchase.
It's an indescribable feeling.
'This is why I shop. Honestly… if you collected 420,000 points, the next thing you should do is to use those 420,000 points.'
He exerted an extreme effort to get his hands on these points… and since he already had something in mind to purchase with those points, it was only a matter of moments before all those points disappear into thin air.
Jake wasn't the type to feel regret or loss, because the purchase was the reason for collecting all those points in the first place – it was always this attitude towards money and/or points that separated him from other people.

He pressed the button, and at the moment when the items appeared in the inventory, a hand on his shoulder startled him.
"Hey, asshole!" Liam yelled, disgruntled. "What's the big idea, running out of the dungeon like that?"
He saw the answer to his question rather than heard it, because Jake had a package in his hands and was walking away from the Burning Forest to the spot where they made a small camp to rest in between grinding.
And when he sat down, he began to remove the tape and bubble wrap from the box, after which he pulled out a pristine white box with an embossed winged goat design.
Liam could only laugh as he saw what the white box contained.
"Hope you bought socks along with that, Jake," he just said. "Man, you really drive me nuts…"
He saw Jake buy all sorts of products… however, this took the cake.
"Really?" he continued. "We spent a couple days in that hell for a freaking pair of basketball sneakers?"
Of course, Jake didn't pay attention to Liam, as he was too busy putting on his shoes and tying the shoelaces carefully… almost respectfully. And when he was done, he picked himself up and looked at Liam.
"I already feel like I could fly," Jake declared, his expression dreamy.

Thanks to the rookie event, Jake now had a plan that wasn't just "go to dungeon, make points, buy item": collecting the entire series of GOAT Flyers.
It had been a childhood dream of his, but gave up when reality reared up and smacked him in the face.
Here, though, you could earn points just by hunting monsters nonstop for points.
It's not like corporate slavery or manual labor, where they never pay you overtime or when you go above and beyond the call of duty.
This place, though, you earn as much as you work, and if you work hard, the shop will reward your industry by giving you a discount or freebie.
It's a refreshing change.
It's a great place.
'There's a problem, though,' Jake thought. 'I've looked up and down at the Awakening Store's Gold Label, and this is the only GOAT Flyer they have available.'
I've already told them about my wish to collect the entire series thanks to my review, but can they really do it?
He wasn't feeling realistic about his chances, because his circumstances were reversed from before he was summoned here.
On Earth, he didn't have any problems hunting for products he wanted, but couldn't pay for them – and on Nohas, it's the complete opposite.
To Jake, it's now about the product, since he now has a means by which to reliably make money or points. 'Man, I wish I was back home. All those stores… there wasn't anything I couldn't find on my computer…'
He was feeling rather wistful and homesick when a notification appeared.
