After lunch, he would begin on his cultivation session. Since he had the Celestial Water Mantra, there were no issues when it came to his self-cultivation. As a matter of fact, he was already at the peak of Rank 17 and would breakthrough any day now. In a perfect world, he would form his Spirit Core and learn a combat skill from that promotion, but due to the four-month time limit imposed on him, Shin was not focused on that path.

Once he was satisfied with his session, which was usually four to five hours each time, Shin would take a late afternoon lap around the area. It was essential for the young teen to run about, as he felt that there was a tremendous calming effect about being near the verdant mountains that had been left untouched by human interference. During this time, Shin would forget the miserable memories that plagued him and could enjoy one to two hours of peace.

Finishing his run, the young teen would take a long shower to cleanse his body from the toxins that had been released throughout the day and have one communal dinner with all of his loved ones. In this life, the only people that he cared about were now all around him. Ariel and Lily had passed, while Junius had gone down the dark path. The orphans, while emotionally damaged at first, had slowly started to recover as many of them didn't carry the same bleak expressions as they did before. For Lia, who was convinced that she had to take on the role as the 'mother' of the group, she had been laughing a lot more in recent days. Determined to make their new mansion a proper home where all of the orphans could return to, Lia had been doing her best to be an emotional pillar of support.

From the first day that the orphans moved into the mansion, they had been trying to familiarise themselves with the foreign surroundings. Lady Seph's new estate was located in a remote part of the Capital's east side, and that meant that there was very little human life populating the area. The majority of the time, when the orphans would wander around the area, they would get lost in how beautiful the landscape was.

The cleft hills were littered with verdurous greenery, making the mansion a utopia for little animals to explore. Nearby, a vast and pristine lake, that glistened in the dazzling sunlight became a frequent travel destination for the new residents. Not only was it alluring to the human eye, but it was also a hot spot to watch the local fauna react. Sonorous hymns of birds filled the area as the local deer and wildcats drank merrily from the water source. 

Shin was a particularly big fan of the immaculate lake. Being the owner of the Eminence of the Lake, The Sovereign Koi, Shin felt a mysterious connection whenever he was near a large water body. Furthermore, in these times of stress, Shin needed a place where his mind could be put to ease.

However, since he had to return early today, the young teen opted to take a different route. Lightly jogging his way in the opposite direction of the lake, Shin tried to explore more of his surroundings. Even though they were given a simple map so that they wouldn't get lost, it was still better for the orphans to use their bodies to familiarise themselves with the environment.

'Hmmm? What's that?' After thirty minutes of his light exercise, Shin noticed an odd peculiarity with one of the nearby hills. 'Is that a cave?'

An opening into the grassy hill could be seen thirty metres up from ground level, piquing the young teenager's curiosity. 

'Maybe I should investigate? It looks safe...' Shin gave a brief assessment of the area before committing to his action.

In the Capital, there were virtually zero untamed Spirit Beasts in the wild. Due to its close proximity to the heart of the Empire, all areas that contained Spirit Beasts were wiped out early on, and every year, an annual cleansing of the wilderness would be conducted. However, even though there were no longer any barbaric Spirit Beasts around, ferocious animals such as wild bears or tigers still existed. 

Although it would be dangerous for a child to roam into a cave without a skilled adult around, with Shin's current capability, he should be able to comfortably dispatch an animal that didn't possess any mana. Thus, judging that there was no danger, the young boy kicked off from the ground and darted towards the cave.

The grotto was deep and dark as a chilling air, brushed against Shin's exposed skin. Peering into the darkness to the best of his ability, Shin couldn't sense any forms of life other than the browned moss that was prevalent at every corner.

"Come out!" Congregating his mana in his hands, Shin summoned the cute little cerulean Koi, so that it could act as a light source. Puffing its gills in annoyance, The Sovereign Koi showed its displeasure for being used for such a menial task, but ultimately, it was unable to defy its master's orders.

"Don't sulk. It's not like I'm using you for food or anything." 

"..." Incapable of replying, the only thing that The Sovereign Koi could do was flap its fins around in a flurry.

Carefully pacing himself, Shin crept deeper and deeper into the cave. An eerie fog that floated beneath his knees made the cavern much colder than it needed to be, but ultimately, Shin endured the cold and pressed on. After a few minutes of exploring, the young teen finally came to the end of the dark tunnel and was astonished by what he saw.

A linen mat with numerous baskets of food was scattered all over the grey rock floor, hinting that someone had been using this cave for their own personal use. The pungent stench of incense masked the natural smell of the den, forcing Shin to cover his nose in the process.

'Someone has been cultivating here? Since there's no trace of mana, perhaps it hasn't been in use for the past few days… I should inform Master of this place!' Shin thought out while unconsciously stepping away. There was no telling if the Spirit User that had been using this place was a powerful one so it would be the wise choice to retreat and let Lady Seph handle this situation. Unfortunately, he was too slow to evacuate.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! COMING INTO MY SPECIAL PLACE?!?!?!" A furious voice bellowed through the cave, forcing Shin to cover his ears with his hands. Due to the cramped nature of the area and the spiritual pressure being released, Shin heard something in his ears pop as blood flowed out from the gaps in his fingers.

'Damn it, I screwed up!' Uncorking two of the three gourds that lay on his waist, Shin brought out all of his healing and poisoned water. The healing water raced towards his eardrums in an attempt to repair the broken pieces while the poisoned water created a sphere around him, hoping to deter the attacker from launching an all-out attack.

"Fucking brat. Why the fuck are you here?!?! Don't you know students aren't allowed in these parts during the school term?!" Realising that he was a little impulsive before for injuring a young Spirit Apostle before he got the chance to explain himself, the voice calmed himself before hollering out once more, this time without spiritual energy.

"S-Senior! I don't know what you're talking about! I recently moved into the nearby mansion just a few kilometres south from here!"

"Huh? Someone finally bought that fucking house?" Recalling that old estate that had been left uninhabited for a few years, the voice was rather taken aback. Although it was relatively cheap for its size, due to its poor location, not many people were interested in that building. A misty shadow flew down from the ceiling and approached the groaning Shin. From the corner of his teary eyes, Shin was able to make out the basic features of the man that attacked him. Standing at over 1.8 metres, the man, who looked like he was in his thirties, had fully tanned skin and possessed a lean build. His green eyes that seemed to resemble the beautiful greenery that surrounded gave the man a distinct earthen look that was highlighted by his unkempt scruffy brown hair. 

"Who are you?" Not dropping his guard, Shin questioned the tall man.

"Asking that right off the bat? Who the fuck taught you manners, boy?" The man sharply retorted with a face full of disgust, unaware that he was the impolite one in the conversation. "Whatever, my name is Mychael. I'm a teacher at Imperius Academy, and would probably be one of your future teachers."

"Huh? How did you know I would be attending the academy?!" Shin exclaimed in shock. He had just met Mychael for the first time today and yet, the man was able to accurately guess that he would be attending the Imperius Academy.

After leaving the headmaster's office, Rain was once again left alone with the blond student president. Silence engulfed the two as they walked towards the dormitories.

Looking around, Rain noticed something peculiar. Noticing this, Sky spoke up. "If you're looking for the other students, you won't find them here."

"Why not?"

"Since you're new here, I'm sure you have no idea how this academy works." Sky started, glancing at Rain. "The whole academy is divided into four zones according to the gates."

"Gates?" Rain asked.

"Yeah. There's a total of four gates in this academy. The one we came in from was the South gate. That's the only gate non-Celestians can enter from. Just think of the whole campus of a pie diagonally sliced into four with the main building at the very center of it."

Even though their whole country is called Celestia and the people are called Celestians, there was never any need to distinguish themselves by that name. Because all of them are Celestians with no other nationalities to discriminate against. Which eventually lead the name to be forgotten in that sense.

And so, when the word Celestian is mentioned... only one thing comes to the people's minds. Anyone or anything that belongs to Celestia Academy is called a Celestian. Be it the students, the faculty, items or products that comes from the prestigious academy.

You might as well say that it's a brand of honor.

"The South Zone is where visitors are entertained or dealt with," Sky continued.

"..." There was a definite dark undertone when Sky said dealt. What exactly did he mean by that?

"The students should be at the main building right now since it's still school hours." Sky pointed out. "The building we were in was just the Arrival Area."

"That's weird. Shouldn't the headmaster's office be on the main building or something?" Rain asked.

The campus was really big, almost the size of a small city. The two of them had been walking for quite a while now but they're still far away from the main building. Rain doesn't mind it though, since the view was beautiful and relaxing. You only need one look and all your stress, worries and tiredness are gone.

Seriously, the whole academy is a feast for the eyes. The walkway towards the main building was wide and clean while on its sides is what you might think to be a park. Lush green grasses, beautiful water fountains, carefully trimmed bushes and plants, fruit-bearing trees are everywhere. Arranged in such a way that simply oozes out simplicity and elegance.

You won't get tired looking at it.

"Oh that. That's just his secondary office meant for official businesses or formalities. His main office is in the main building." Sky answered before pointing to the top floor of the main building. "That's his main office."

"The other students are currently in their classes. Mostly in the main building, some on the training grounds and other facilities on the North and East Zone. The dormitories would be on the West Zone."

It took them a few more minutes before they finally arrived. They stood in front of three buildings. Two five-story buildings, one pale blue and the other pale pink, on the either side of the pristine white two-story building.

All three buildings are beautiful, almost like the small hotels you'd see Outside except that glowing cryxtals illuminate it giving them a mystical feel, but the one that stood out the most to Rain was the white one. There was just this cool and comfortable ambiance coming out of it, enchanting him to come enter inside.

And without Rain realizing it, he had already started walking towards it while ignoring Sky's calls for him. Heading towards the double doors engraved with the academy's logo, he outstretched his arms to push the doors open.

But before he could even touch it, the blond had already grabbed Rain's arm. The red-haired teen just blankly stared at him while the Sky just gave him a stern stare, almost a glare, before asking.

"What are you doing?"

"...What are you doing? It's here, right? My room." There was an odd tone in Rain's voice making it deeper, as if someone else was speaking.

"How did you--" 

Creak. 

The doors opened ajar, inviting both of them in.

Both boys stared at the doors before Rain blinked a few times and removed Sky's hand off of him.

"Whoa... The door opened... By itself." Rain muttered, "...please tell me that's normal."

Because it'd be creepy otherwise. Rain added in his mind.

Sky gave him a look before shrugging. Maybe that was just his imagination earlier.

After all, they just met today. The two of them are nowhere near friends. They barely knew each other for Sky to jump into conclusions.

But then, how did Rain knew this is the right dormitory?

"Yeah, it recognizes its tenants. It probably sensed me so it opened. Otherwise, it won't open at all." Sky explained before stepping inside and grinning wickedly at Rain. "In fact, it'll attack any intruder."

Rain gulped, warily looking at the doors before stepping inside as well.

Sky turned away from Rain before the latter could notice his smile faltering. Sky would just have to keep a teeny tiny fact to himself.

What fact? Well...

For the  doors to open, you need to actually touch it. And it does not recognize new tenants until they had underwent the proper process inside the dormitory.

Sky will just have to ask that sly headmaster later.

Upon entering, the first thing Rain noticed was that the dormitory was a lot bigger in the inside compared to what you can see outside. The lobby they went into was circular with its ceiling up high with a big cryxtal chandelier in the middle twinkling as it swayed lightly. Ornamental hanging plants decor the walls as it crept on it while carefully avoiding the curious paintings framed in intricate gold. Couches and coffee tables are evenly distributed throughout the room and follows the academy's motif just like what Rain had seen so far.

But unlike the things that Rain had seen in this academy, what caught his attention was the logo under the circular glass floor. It was similar to the academy's logo, except that it had eight crystals forming an insignia that was a mix between a snowflake and a flower. The flower petals were detached from the circular orb in the middle and four smaller crystals on the crystals pointing to the main directions.

Strangely enough, the logo was the face of a clock.

But it wasn't ticking.

It was stuck at 11:59.

Continuing forward Sky stepped into the Roman number XII. The number glowed white as a double door appeared on the wall in front of him. Unfazed, Sky lead the two of them pass the doors that automatically opened at Sky's touch.

A hallway with six doors on each side was what greeted Rain. Roman numbers I-VI on the right side and VII-XII on the other. Each door was engraved differently.

Sky walked towards the farthest door to the left.

The door was engraved with a bird cradling the same crystal logo from the lobby earlier, its wings erupting into a burst of flames while its tail turned into powdered dust before the bird's head. A roman numeral was engraved below the symbol.

Room XII. 

"This will be your room in the academy. If you ever need anything outside of school hours, just knock here." Sky stated as he knocked on the room to the left of Rain's, Room XI. 

Room XI had the same logo from the Rain's but instead of a bird encircling it, a beast both the king of the jungle and the king of the skies was engraved in it. The griffin had the logo on its back as it flies away in a somersault. "I'll be here most of the time."

"Your classes will start tomorrow, everything you own and need are already inside. I'll just have a student show you around tomorrow morning."

"I see." Casually opening the door and stepping inside, Rain faced the blonde.

"...thanks." Rain murmured before slamming the door shut in Sky's face.

"..."

It was obvious how forced the words were on Rain's mouth that Sky was tempted to laugh at the other teen.

"Ah... By the way..."

Knocking at the door which was immediately opened with a rude "what?" coming from Rain, Sky smiled.

"You just got tricked." Sky said before leaving the red-haired teen dumbfounded at his room's door.

After a few seconds, Rain just decided that the blonde was just messing with his head, he finally went inside.

Only to have his mouth wide open once again.

The room was an exact replica of his room back home in the obscure village within Summer Utopia.

The king-sized bed he had been using as a kid near the window, a dreamcatcher hanging on the window, his oak closet just beside his bed, a study table he was reluctantly given on his tenth birthday(to motivate him to study or so his mother said) across the bed and his own bathroom in one corner of the room. A classic red brick fireplace that suddenly burned hot and bright.

Everything was almost exactly as he remembered it.

Gliding his hand on the wall, an unwanted sense of nostalgia swept him. Why did his dorm room had to look like this?

Lost in his thoughts, Rain almost tripped over the stack of books neatly placed beside the wall.

Rain wasted no time in picking up the books before placing it on the study table. His class schedule and a thin rectangular glass cryxtal that's roughly the size of his own hand.

Intrigued, he picked up the cryxtal causing it to light up a bluish white glow before displaying his name and picture along with several other details.

"An ID...?" but it looks a bit too sophisticated just for that.

Looking at the name in it, for a moment Rain thought his given name flickered before changing into something else. But when he stared at it for confirmation, nothing happened.

Probably a trick of light due to the flickering fireplace.

Deciding to just forget about it, Rain headed to the bed and replayed the day's events in his mind.

Rain might be new to his surroundings but he's far from stupid.

In all honesty, he didn't want to come here at all. The moment he stepped inside the gates,he clearly heard the sound of chains clanking. As if something wanted to break out. But Sky didn't react at all.

Whether the blond really didn't hear it or he was just faking it, Rain doesn't know.

That's one thing that bothered him but there's more.

Another is the letter. Valor explained what it is, not how it got there. Rain lost his cool back then so he didn't notice it right away but now that he's calmly thinking things over, it's obvious the headmaster didn't answer on purpose.

And lastly, the headmaster Valor himself.

If Sky was slightly odd, Valor was outright weird. His flame was different from the rest.

It was an indigo-white color with properties unlike most people. It was bigger, brighter and a lot more intense. Strong, solid and unwavering. Controlled and stable. Even a flicker of uncertainty is nowhere to be found.

Rain had always been sensitive, even as a child. But it's not because of being emphatic or observant or anything like that.

It's just that he can see it. People's auras. But before you's think of the stuff you see in cartoons or anime, let me just tell you that wasn't it.

Rain isn't a seer but he can see it. Even if it's just a little bit in his own way.

To him, auras are just like fire. Their color, properties and strengths are all different from one another, reflecting its owner. As long as you have a soul, you'll have an aura.

In other words, he's got a pretty good sense when it comes to other people. But...

As unique as an ability it is, it's something that Rain hides.

"Do not let anyone know, otherwise... something bad will happen."

Remembering the way Valor's flame burn brighter for a second when their eyes met left Rain speechless back then. That kind of reaction isn't normal for someone who just met another person for the first time.

Usually it would flicker smaller in distrust, a reflexive instinct to hide itself from other people. Along with their secrets.

"...that guy..." Rain murmured.

But Valor's reaction? It wasn't like it was the first time he saw the red-haired teen. In fact, it was almost like they already met. And not just once.

Because... that's the kind of reaction you'd give when you met someone you knew for a long time after years of not seeing each other. It was the kind of reaction friends give each other on a reunion.

Excited, pleased and anticipating.

But that should have been impossible.

Because in all of his sixteen years of life as Rain Astralgem, he never met the headmaster. Not even once.

"...knows me."

Before Rain finally lost his consciousness and succumbed to sleep, he can almost hear Sky's voice as the sound of chains clanging in the distance echoed.

"You just got tricked."

Waking up with a strange letter in his closed room wasn't exactly how Rain imagined how his day would start. It was an admission letter from a particular elite academy. How it got there, he has no idea. And what better way to find out than go to the said academy itself?

Celestia Academy.
A prestigious academy that only accepts those gifted beyond belief. Not a single soul in Celestia have not heard of its name and the grandeur it brought with it.

But his troubles didn't just end there. In fact, it was just the beginning.

Even an academy that shines under the spotlight has its own secrets. Secrets that have been buried as centuries pass, Rain unknowingly stumbles upon them. And the more he knew, the more he realizes how he is no outsider to these dark secrets.If anything else, he's among the ones that are at the very core of it.

With a sly headmaster that's always up to no good, an annoying student president, a childish teen idol and a girl with countless mysteries surrounding her, will Rain survive long enough to uncover all of its secrets?

Or rather,  can he fit all the puzzle pieces together fast enough to come out of this ordeal alive?

**IMPORTANT NOTES**
1. I have a few chapters stockpiled in my wattpad account for this story and I'll be uploading one  chapter or so per week. Once the stock chapters run out, please expect slow updates.
2. Although this will be tagged for the female audience, you will be following the male main character most of the time and not the female main character. To be honest, the story was not targeted to a specific gender and given a choice, I would not pick a target gender.
3. If you're reading this for the romance that most female-targeted stories have, then you may be disappointed with this book. Yes, there will be romance but it will be a slow and subtle one. When I first conceptualised the story around 5 years ago, romance was never the main focus. I did focus on the relationships between characters though.
4. The story would be long and rather slow-paced at the start due to world building.

YinYang, a classic philosophy about two different natures that balance each other. One of them, Yin was symbolized as female, the moon, negative force, hidden or concealed, the night, and the winter. On the other hand, Yang was the male, the sun, positive force, open, the day, and summer. 

The philosophy was intended to explain the contradicting sides of the nature, although people more than often used the term for others. 

Although in their case, no one knew exactly which was which. 

Yang YueChen's grades were falling. 

He would fail his classes. 

Not only that, other sorts of troubles rapidly burdened him. 

To put it simply, whether by Yuan Ji or other factors, YueChen was about to face the gates of hell.

Fiddling around as he glanced the clock from moment to moment, YueChen finally put down his pencil. The stack of homework before him was left unfinished, nearly untouched. 

The teen had given up trying to make any sense studying again. 

In his class, Yang YueChen's performance was the worst. He excelled only in biology and English while failing all other studies. 

"No, take that pencil and start doing the homework." A command came from the thin air.

"But," the boy pouted, "I don't understand any of those."

YueChen lightly scratched his cheek, trying to find another excuse to save him from sitting there forever. 

"Flip through the books, search the answer in internet, ask a friend, do anything except this." 

The second year of junior high school could be said as hell. YueChen barely had a friend, didn't have a tutor, and being bullied again. 

At least he met Huang OuLin in the first few month.

If they were to describe OuLin in minimum words as possible, Yuan Ji would go for 'geeky otaku' while YueChen would say something along the lines 'cool smart guy'. 

Huang OuLin was two months older than YueChen, his hair brown and straight, always wearing glasses, friendly and outgoing. OuLin could easily get himself a handful of friends in less than three days, which was plausible as YueChen struggled to get a friend in a year.

Long story short, OuLin found the local hobo of disaster and quickly befriended him. Said hobo was YueChen, obviously. 

The nerd and the dork, the smart and the fool, truly an odd combination. 

To Yuan Ji, Huang OuLin was only a replacement if not a problem. This boy easily gained his vessel's trust, even more easier than others. In case one day YueChen discarded him after finding a happiness and friends, things would be difficult. He would never ascend that way. 

"Say, what do you desire the most?" YueChen tried to change the topic, pulling Yuan Ji out of his thoughts. 

Upon hearing that one question, the deity's heart ached lightly for no reason at all. He coughed a few times, saying "My only desire is to return to where I belong to."

The boy let out a silent, "Aah..." and nodded his head. 

In that one exchange of words, he had distracted Yuan Ji from noticing that he had put all the books back into his bag.

What he did expect was the answer, not his own question being thrown back to him. 

Yuan Ji stared at him, waiting for YueChen. 

"That.... I really don't know." 

But, after a moment of thought, he corrected himself, "Well, maybe becoming smarter, less bullied, a real friend, or even just deleting painful memories." 

"Or, or just you." YueChen continued.

The second year of junior high school was boring, no special incidents or anything worth telling. The third year, however, was memorable enough. That year set a firm foundation to their future relationship. 

Time flew quickly, in a blink of eye, it was the first of September again. 

"Let me form a contract with you." Said YueChen, calm and composed looks, as if he had the thought for a long time already. 

The imaginary food in Yuan Ji's mouth dropped at once. Well, not exactly imaginary, since it was an offering from the mortals sent to him this day. Even Gods couldn't live without food. 

"What?!" 

Speaking to loudly and suddenly, the deity choked and coughed, his face gradually reddened of the lack of air. The surnamed Yang reached out to pat his back. 

Only after a few minutes did Yuan Ji finally calmed down. The deity turned and shot a deadly glare at the boy. 

"Where the hell do you know about contracts??! Do you think I am a demon?! A god isn't allowed to form a contract with random person you know!" Yuan Ji then proceeded to ramble about it, sometimes straying a little from the topic. 

YueChen, on the other hand, only turned a deaf ear and smiled at him. He had had enough rants to listen, he wouldn't try to waste his time to take all the information rawly into his mind. Five sentences of Yuan Ji's rants were enough. 

"I figured that maybe all beings, living or not, might be capable of forming a contract. Just a passing thought." Replied the teen half-lyingly.

The deity's glares were scalding hot, but they gradually cooled down. He mulled over the fact that Yang YueChen might not be a normal teen with average intelligence. No, he might be a genius for his age. However, if he really was smart enough to guess that contracts could be formed, why did he act dumb?

The vessel sat there patiently waiting for an answer. The smile on his face had dropped, the expression had changed into a downcast thoughtful look.

When Yuan Ji had finally decided to not underestimate the boy, his host had long deep travelling in his own mind.

A barely visible vein popped on his forehead. Before he could say or do anything, YueChen opened his mouth first. "Just say what you need to say, I'm listening." His gaze was still downcast, fixed on the mattress under him. His arms folded in front of his chest. 

The growing temper was trampled down by that one sentence. Flusteration took its place instead. 

"Well, it's like this..." came from his mouth as a start. Yuan Ji knitted his brows as he tried to find the best and easiest way to explain the matter. 

"You see, Gods and other celestial beings could form a contract. The ways of said contracts were far strayed from the basic contract you know. No, Gods don't take lives like Infernal beings do. Gods grant powers and wishes, in a cost for something." 

"And what is it?" YueChen's tone was that of mild interest, but he didn't move his gaze. 

The room became quiet for a short while, the silence was only to be broken by the deity's two words: "It depends." 

Followed closely by, "Some wanted offerings and worships, some only aimed for spiritual energy and ascension, some might actually pursue your life-span to extend their own." 

This time, YueChen raised his head, properly looking into the onyx pair of eyes. He noted that a swirl of blue, like water, danced in the darkness. Taking in a deep breath, he spoke, "What about you? What do you want?" 

Even though he had expected this, Yuan Ji was still taken aback at the boy's straightforwardness. 

Coughing once or twice, he said, "State your wishes for this contract first. I'll let you know what I want as exchange then."

"A friend." YueChen said, concealing a smile. 

"You already got one, if not two. Next." Yuan Ji shook his head, taking out a bun from his sleeves. The deity tossed and caught the bun a few times, not having any intent to eat the meat-filled bakery. 

"I want knowledge, happiness, and romance." 

"Typical prayers, improve it." 

"Fine. Delete my memories, the painful ones. I don't want any reminder of those." 

"Too complicated, another." 

"Grant the god who dwell inside my body the power to manifest himself physically when he wants to. Give him back his abilities." 

"Nonsensical—Wait, what??" He gave another offhand reply, before realizing what YueChen just said. The bun in his hand was once more tossed up, but he didn't caught it.

"You heard me." YueChen rose up to catch the bun, and sat back down. "Don't waste food, and that." 

YueChen took a bite and another, ignoring the deity's shocked stare. 

"That—that..." He pointed at the boy shakily. "Don't eat ghost's food!* You're not a ghost!" 

"But I am." YueChen continued to munch on the bun. "It's not like you're going to eat this anyway, if you throw this away, it'll only be a waste." 

It was an irrefutable logic. Yang YueChen was raised in a family where wasting food would be punished. 

"Just... just what do you desire for real?" 

"The last one is the purest desire I have for this contract. Please state the payment here, if possible not money or any mortal currencies. I'm too poor to afford your help in that case." YueChen finished eating the bun and produced a piece of paper from his pocket, took a brief look at that and handed it to the deity. 

".... This is a blank paper." Yuan Ji flipped the paper and held it in front of his vessel. 

YueChen tilted his head, raising an eyebrow. "So?"

"What's written on it?"

"Nothing. Don't expect me to write anything. My calligraphy is clumsy and ugly, remember?"

That's right. YueChen's calligraphy could be compared to a kindergarten's. Messy and sloppy, often mistaken as a totally different character. His writing style was no different. 

No wonder teachers disliked him a little. A line of his essay was enough to make a person's eyes sore. No wonder his grades were so low. They couldn't make out any of that nonsenses!

Yet, somehow, his biology assignment got rather high scores and his English studies had perfect scores. 

One time he tried to write the character Yuan from Yuan Ji's name and ended up writing Ai (love) with three waters in front of the character. That character didn't exist at all. 

"I no longer trust you in writing contracts." The deity gritted his teeth. He produced a brush from thin air and began to state whatever he had in mind onto the paper.

"Saves me from troubles." YueChen thanked him, observing the dancing brush on the snow-colored paper. 

Yuan Ji took about five minutes to write the contract, yet to the restless child, it seemed like only a second had passed.

"Can I look at that?" 

Yuan Ji lifted his head, and said, "No. You can't." 

With only three words spoken, YueChen easily deduced that the deity had added few details that he wouldn't want anyone to notice. 

"Okay, then. What about the payment?" 

"The contract is a balance for your wishes. You could say that you don't need to pay at all, as you already gave me a shelter. But this way may backfire if you violated the contract."

"Sounds fine for a starter contract. Will this affect your being too?" 

Yuan Ji grinned, "As much as yours do."

Life started to become easier, YueChen got few friends and Yuan Ji got parts of his powers back. 

Other than that, nothing really changed. The two still argued, fought, and complained at things. YueChen was still too kind and sweet for the world, Yuan Ji was still snarky and witty like before. The other changes were that there were no longer tales. 

Until the second semester of the ninth grade, when YueChen's life was turned upside down.

West of the central continent, near a large city known as Huangzun City, there was an extremely giant cave known as Jianan Cave.
Opening up a close to 30 thousand feet deep, 2 thousand miles wide space in a cave.
Within the cave that spread tens of miles, there were all kinds of Buddha statues: 800 Luohan, the various bodhisattvas, ten over buddha ancestors. Each had a different level of sentience, causing the cave to be filled with a seven-colored light. Even if one was tens of miles away, they could see that spiritual light shine.
If one walked further into the depths of the cave--if one's body had a certain amount of Buddhist ability--they could step into a special space.
It was a hundred thousand feet wide, similar to that of a vast habitat.
Jingyin walked around in the depths of the cave, wearing a wide monk robe and white shoes, without a single bit of dust on it.
Looking all about curiously, her eyes filled with joy as well as curiosity.
Every time she passed a buddha or bodhisattva statue, she would bow respectfully--she was really sincere with no other thoughts at all.
The last one was Sakyamuni, who was huge. There was a lotus in his hand and a slight smile on his face. Jingyin bowed. Then, she followed a small path and climbed slowly upwards. When she stepped on the lotus on the palm, the scenery in front of her eyes changed.
She seemed to be in a whole different wide space. It was a million feet wide. At a glance, one couldn't see the borders of the place.　
Not far away, there was a temple that looked similar to that of a palace hall which occupied a large space.
Jingyin knew that she was still within the Jianan cave--On that lotus.
The entire space where the Jianan temple was located was built within this Buddhist treasure which was shaped like a lotus.
She looked around. Many tempered red-robed monks walked in and out of that temple entrance.
At this moment, not only was Jingyin curious, but even those monks were looking over with a questioning gaze.
Some of them were attracted by her out of this world beauty. While some of them felt curious. This was a temple and not a convent, so what was a nun doing all the way here in a monk temple?
Jingyin didn't care. She looked around excitingly.
In her heart, she thought to herself that this was the males that her master told her about. They were different from them.
She looked towards the north before her expression froze up. The north wall here as expected had once collapsed.
Although it looked perfectly fine, it was repaired not long ago.
"Is that junior sister Jingyin?"
A teen monk wearing the clothing of a managing disciple walked out of the gate to welcome.
Jingyin looked at the head of his person, and she saw 6 scars.
"I am Zhiyuan. Junior sister can just call be senior brother! Follow me, Master Linghai has been waiting for many hours within the Daxiong Hall…"
Jingyin nodded her head and followed Zhiyuan into the temple. Along the way, she found it weird. Many teen monks were exchanging glances and words with one another. Hearing their words, they were borrowing spiritual artifacts and Taoist spiritual talismans.
Occasionally, there would be space ripples in the sky. There seemed like people were teleporting over there.
When Zhiyuan saw the situation, he couldn't help but smile and explain, "Junior sister doesn't know, but 2 hours ago, Sword prince Jueyu and common people Tanqiu agreed to fight in front of common people vast habitat. Till now, a victor hasn't been decided. Who knows what had happened, but the senior brothers who headed overall sent back news to say that both of them are the best sword experts in a hundred years. They also said that the battle is a classic peak sword intent battle. As for these small teleportation formations and space crossing pearls, they suddenly became in hot demand. Many senior brothers and junior brothers want to head over to have a look…"
Jingyin exclaimed, showing a shocked expression. Since young, she spent her time in a convent and was brought up by her master. As such, she knew very little about the cultivation world.
However, this Jueyu was so famous, and she had heard about him.

After Zhiyuan brought her here, he bowed and left.
Jingyin wasn't afraid of unfamiliar situations. She first bowed towards Sakyamuni, Medicine Buddha, and Siddhartha Buddha.

"Unlimited light and endless darkness? What does that mean?"
"You can see the words. And can last over a breath?"　　
Linghai moved forwards and sized up Jingyin, "This time we found the right person. My useless disciples...Even if they went all out, they could only read a portion of it, unable to last for half a breath. Oh! Not bad, looks and aura, the top choice in the world. You will be able to complete this matter."

Halfway into her words, Linghai waved his hand to interrupt her. He silently placed a few scriptures in front of Jingyin.
She saw that they were all scriptures related to dari rulai.
Dari garbha scripture, vairocana light scripture, great sun dharma scripture...　　
Ten over books made of special materials, all scriptures who could carry the big path.
Jingyin curiously flipped open. Then, her expression finally changed. She flipped several books, with no exception, all of them changed.

Her shyly smear of smile on that lustful lips still in my mind, I memorized it like a seductress of my night. He was kissing her neck,  biting her ears then slowly unbuttoning the rest of her dress, when she turned to him for a kiss, oh god, what a arousing sight it was for me, they were kissing like they were couldn't have enough of their lips, softly muttering, smiling and kissing. She was still holding her glass and chocolate,  she stopped him to take breath then finished her drinks and made him to eat her leftover chocolate then started again and went to their bedroom. I was feeling so disappointed by losing them from my sights. It seemed I might cry then after 15 minutes of long waiting, I went to my bed. It was then I fall for a woman for the very first time and still searching for such. Later, I was there to find her but I never could've founded her,  her husband always took her for the business trip then one day they sold the house and moved out. I dated girls from my high school but all they were busy with their back biting,  fighting and gossiping,  I moved out as soon as I saw such nonsense in them but take a time for her to remember. It was raining like cats screaming on dogs. I was slightly nostalgic annoyed, and bit of anguished to myself. Kept loving memories of someone that I didn't even know. How and why, I was full of her in me, I really hoped to know myself.  I couldn't stand any girl, somehow they all were lack of something decency or innocence or that little hesitation of completely unaware devotional slavery to love, couldn't decide.
