ok so I am going to need help coming up with ideas for the chapters like give general ideas and like the horror movies I should make our MC go to. umm... also if you have read my other 'novels' then you know that I get Writers block alot. I will need your advice on what I should change about the way I write and stuff.

I just want to read the stuff I like to read and I know there is probably some hidden treasures  that get passed by sooo....yep thanks in advance.

a book where you can shamefully promote yours or others novels.....I'm just someone who likes to read and am open to suggestions no judgment I will read bout anything and also hope to spread the love of reading by doing this....so basically this will be a 1ch book with 1 Tag per line and basically just suggest novels that include that tag that you've read that's it....

When I began writing the biography of Death, I was not sure where it would lead me. Real life inspiration and the darkest recesses of my mind competed to see which could be the more sinister. To a large extent I blindly followed them, and merely wrote down whatever sweet songs of madness they crooned to me along the trail. 

Like most writers I wrangled friends and relatives into giving me feedback. One, a millennial snowflake, was invaluable. They seemed to consider this fantasy nightmare I had created, to be some sort of manifesto. For the record this book is pure fiction. Fiction inspired by real world events in a few cases, but fiction nonetheless. Like all works of supernatural horror, this book is meant to be entertainment. It is perhaps a meditation on the zeitgeist of the modern west, but it is still as fictional as 1984 or A Christmas Carol. 

Another person seemed bothered by the apparent moral contradictions in my lead character. To this I can only say that a man is the sum of his contradictions. People love to apply the rules to others, but find reasons to grant themselves exceptions to their own rules. I did not want an incorruptible white knight monster. I wanted a complex and thinking human monster. To my way of thinking his inconsistency was his most human feature, even after he leaves his humanity behind. 

Should anyone find a mirror image to themselves in these pages, then it is only their own ego. The sum of this work has been so thoroughly washed in the waters of horror and fantasy that no living or deceased human could ever be reasonably compared to its contents. 

No rational person could ever compare the buffoons portrayed in these pages to a real life counterparts. Any person contending to the contrary is either a snowflake melting in the flames of my mad vision, or a lunatic in desperate need of having their mental faculties examined by a competent professional, I have time for neither. The fact that this book is fiction cannot be over emphasized.

Death, a Biography, is a fictional horror novel. It is crass, violent, profane, and not meant for the light hearted reader. Imagine living in a world surrounded by fools. For years your frustration grows, and no matter what you try to do you cannot free yourself from the preverbal ideocracy. Nom DePlume is just such a man, only one day he is granted the dearest wish of his heart. Nom, a grad student working as a truck driver is: intelligent, well educated, and the sort of person who always can find a reason to have a chip on his shoulder. One day while driving in Texas he finds that he has the ability to wish death on those he hates. Being scientifically minded, Nom proceeds to experiment searching out the scopes of his new found powers. He begins in Texas, a state he despises. As he moves on from each experiment, he picks his prey to match some facet of modern western life that he hates. Each receive a fate customized to match what Nom feels they did wrong. Nom then travels home to Michigan after initially defining his new role in life. In Michigan he uses his powers to settle a few old scores and family business. A run-in with an old friend convinces him that he is being selfish for not using his god like powers to better mold humanity. The end of the book sees him taking on the leader of the free world. Nom now personifying Death, learns that he has a true foe, Life.Nom will return.

I know it's pretty scummy of me to not even try reviewing some content to figure out how to write this blog but I'm dealing with newbies to writing like Nimu here. Even if Nimu DID request this, I'm going to keep this simple and easy to understand.

Why would I do that? Well, I'm pretty sure that even if I bring up tropes like the 'Uncanny Valley', no one will actually understand what I'm talking about and would only nod their heads like chickens because I said some big words or something like that...

That's why I'm choosing to keep this real. Now, let's start off with: How do does horror be 'scary'?

In movies, showing images that either poke at our emotions of unease or disgust is one way to go, or just throw a bunch of jump scares and call it a horror movie... Director's choice. Similarly, you are also the 'director' of any 'horror story' you choose to write.

Most horror writers have the wrong assumption when they think about writing 'horror'. They become trapped in unease themselves because 'fear' stops them from writing. Well, if you really DO feel that way, then just channel that into your horror story.

And no, I'm not playing with ya.

There's a reason horror's start off in a simple premise with easy-to-understand people, after all.

Have you never experienced a horrifying event or nightmare before? Fine, I'll give you an example.

There was a time when I was a kid that I suddenly started looking for my older brother who went out of the room that afternoon. As a kid, darkness made me feel uneasy, so I didn't like the feeling of going into the kitchen in the other room which was pitch-black at the time. And that's when it happened!

The older brother I was looking for jumped out of the darkness and scared the life out of me...

Now, from that short memory. What have we found that made this memory so impressionable?

The answer is that there was a 'sudden set-up' of unease before the jump scare, making it scary.

If my brother had jumped in front of me at any other time, I would only be mildly surprised. However, the transition between 'set-up' and 'payoff' made it more worthwhile. This is what you must remember.

Remember, before setting up a scary scene in a horror story, you yourself must first evaluate how much 'set-up' you are willing to make for the end payoff and if that payoff is even worth it.

The reason I got scared by my brother was because of the 'suddenness' of the event. If I had time to properly analyse the situation and realise that my brother was playing a prank, the effect of him jumping out of the darkness wouldn't surprise me.

Likewise, if there was fast or literally no set-up and the payoff was that an brain-like alien actually existed in my kitchen. I would be scared, I would be struck dumb because my suspension of disbelief would be broken. I wouldn't even know how to internalise that event if it actually happened. The only thing I would do is stare at the thing blankly.

Blankness is not fear, it's just your brain not being able to comprehend what you're seeing.

If there is less set-up to big events, the payoff would be low. This is the same for ten chapters of set-up just to reveal someone doing a prank. You yourself must balance 'set-up' with the intended 'payoff'.

However, that's not to say scary story's need surprising moments where something or someone jumps out from the dark. Even that show called 'Goosebumps' knew the best way to scare someone is to manipulate the emotions of a reader.

When something good is happening but there is subtly a small scene of watching the main character through the window, the reader's heart is gripped tightly. If THEY don't want anything to happen to your relatable and kind character, then they will feel unease even if your character is clueless.

Then when the payoff happens, the reader will be assaulted with a sense of grief and sympathy.

Horror story's are just like that. They aren't meant to scare the reader through flashing images or jump scares but cause them to feel deeply. Though this is also a reason horrors are rarely read by people who are looking for something lighthearted and bright.

You must know this target audience and prepare your story well to become a good horror. If mixed with mystery, then you must also make sure to keep what I said in my 'Mystery Genre Analysis' in mind as everything there is also essential in this blend.

There are plenty of ways to make horrors not need mysteries by blending it with tragedy. However, it isn't something you can write with a bright heart free of ill-will towards others. After all, you must understand what makes people 'uneasy and disgusted' with something whenever you write something of this genre. As it is needed to bring out the best experience for those reading your work.

Some think Horror and Tragedy are two sides of the same coin. However, there is a reason these two are split up into separate genres. Tragedies might invoke sympathy in those who read it, but Horror strike the readers with true fears even if they are irrational.

Ghost stories make us fear the Supernatural, Stories about technology progressing beyond humans can control makes us fear Science Fiction, and even story about a mystical world which only curse its inhabitants with grief make us fear Fantasy.

We are rational creatures after all. We take each step carefully and are always uneasy about the unpredictable future, that is our mundane form of horror. We fear, and therefore we feel alive.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Ip Man wakes from his thought and searches Tony's face, "Hui this foreigner is very strong."

"I can't let you fight Master Ip Man," Tony replies with a small smile, "Mrs. Wing Sing is pregnant. I would not know how to reply if anything happens to you."

"But Hui, be careful of his punches," Ip Man warns. "They must be very strong to take down Master Hung."

"Don't worry Master Ip Man. I'll defeat him," Tony saids.

Later that day after the press conference that Tony barged in to challenge Twister to a fight the reporters are beginning to write down their reporters.

Getting his arms badly beaten, Kan is now wearing a white bandaged cast on his right arm.

He's wearing the usual black glasses, with white shirt that has sleeves rolled up and a striped tie. 

Seeing the hesitant look on his writers' face he tells them, "Don't be scared. Keep writing."

The writers who are to report the matter glance at each other as though questioning whether they should proceed with the honesty of their reports. 

"Keep writing! I'll still publish it tomorrow!" Kan yells at them to continue.

At this moment Kan hears footsteps from the outside rushing to their office studio.

"What's the matter?"

"Cops." 

A couple men wearing casual clothing enters the office door. 

Searching at the papers the reporters were writing.  

"What are you writing? Still writing?" Fatso enters asking Kan, "You're not afraid to die?"

Kan was backing away in hesitancy and weariness thinking they are going to capture him back to the prison again for more beating and torturing. 

Fatso took away a paper a reporter was writing, reading, "Undaunted by Western Boxer, Wing Chun Expert Enters Chinese-Western Boxing Competition! Is that all?"

Fatso looks at the nervous chief-editor Kan in dispute over the title of the paper. 

"Why not 'Western Dogs will be Demolished'," Fatso throws the paper back.

While taking away the writing of another reporter, "Defend news with blood, expose truth with conscience." You have conscience but do you have the truth? I do!!"

Kan was beginning to get interested as he listened to what Fatso just stated at the end.

"You got the guts? I'll tell you everything! We'll ruin him!" Fatso said, putting his arm around Kan.

Kan is so happy at this news, "Good!"

"Come. This foreigner detests and despises the Chinese. I'll give you the goods, you report them," Fatso tells him. "I guarantee he'll be done for."

Coming home, Tony steps in through the wooden door a guard opens for him and he swiftly arrives at the dining room. 

The dining room is very spacious, decorated with white marble tiles. 

In the middle of the room is a small circular dining table made from black marble.

In the ceiling is a beautiful glass chandelier that decorates the dining room with joyous light. 

While on the right side are large windows overseeing the evening sun. 

He sees Zhi Yan wearing a white apron and puts a dish of food in the middle of the table. 

Her red lips were parted as she focused on putting out the dishes. 

With her smooth flowing hair tied together behind her, still a strand of hair hangs down as she lowers her head in focus.

Seeing that Tony came in she dusts away her apron and greets with a charming smile, "Hui you came back just in time!" 

Every single night coming home to see the familiar smiling face is part of the happiest moments of each day.

But today as he saw the smile he could only muster up a small smile as he took a feel of the worry-free energy she brings into the room.

"Wait a bit Hui, I'll call Yue Er for dinner," Zhi Yan tells him. 

Pushing back her hair behind her left ear as she went out of the room to find Yue Er.

Walking slowly with his head down towards the marble table, pulling back the chair and sitting.

He looks at the dining table full of delicious food she has cooked for tonight and smiles with gratitude for all she has done.

When everyone finally got together at the dining table and proceeded to try out the new dish. 

Only Tony seems to be in thought as he tastes a small bit of the rice.

"Here Hui, try some of your favorite sweet sour fish," Zhi Yan saids picking up the food with her chopsticks and placing it on his rice bowl.

Seeing that smile Tony doesn't know how to bring up the main topic as he doesn't want to break the peace of the dinner.

"Zhi Yan, Yue Er, I have something to tell you guys," Tony spoked up breaking the silence of the dinner.

His two sisters looked up at him in curiousness. 

"I'm going to fight a challenge in a month's time," he said to them.

There was a deathening pen drop in the room, as the two sisters took this information in comprehension. 

"...Hui you're going to fight again?" Yue Er his younger asks with those adorable eyes of hers in concern and worry.

When he was challenged by General Miura, Yue Er was very worried that he might be injured. 

She was moved to tears hearing how evil General Miura is, and tried to stop him from going for the fight.

"Who's the opponent?" Zhi Yan asks while scrunching her eyebrows. 

Yue Er also looks at Tony to find out who it is.

"Taylor 'Twister' Miller," Tony states in a quiet voice.

"Twister!" Zhi Yan repeats back with a hint of fear in her tone.

"Sis Zhi Yan, who's Twister?" Yue Er asks with curiosity.

Her eyes pause in comprehension for a second before answering, "It's the man that's been on the news lately. It's said that he injured kung-fu Grandmaster Hung!"

"He killed a fighter!" Yue Er stands up from her seat with horror, "Brother Hui…" 

Tony sees those lovable eyes staring into his with tears beginning to well up.

Tony died once before in his former life and now he gets the chance to turn back time. 

Returning to when he was 18 when everything was fresh and new. Additionally he gets a system that can increase his Soul Power. 

Traveling to countless movies, anime, and novels:

Tony Stark: "If I'm Iron Man who's that guy flying in that armored suit?"

Madera Uchiha: "What! That thick eyebrow guy broke my susanoo!! Stop what you're doing!"

Harry Potter: "I thought I'm supposed to fight Voldemort. How come Ron just send a spell that burnt Voldemort into a barbecue chicken?"

Pulling her self from the floor after Paoxiao left the room, door shut firmly behind him, Nastasia watched the door with a worried expression. She was torn between listening to him and keeping herself out of the way or to defy his will and see for herself the situation outside the door. She wasn't weak and felt that perhaps there was some way she could be of help out there on the open deck.

 The sharp heavy sounds of fighting, the deep snarls, groans, and yowls of whatever was out there came into the room; though muffled. Worried about the things she was hearing, Nastasia quickly got to her feet and made her way to the door.

 Just as her hand was about to reach out to open it her hand froze in mid-air, recalling the earlier scene of when Li Yu Rong had her pinned to the bed "punishing" her. Nastasia's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she bit her lip out of frustration. 
 
 She wanted to help but was afraid of becoming a hindrance. In the end, after a long struggle of reaching out to open the door and pulling back, she decided to remain in the room.

 It was better to sit still.

 Both Paoxiao and Li Yu Rong seemed to be really strong. There was also An Ying who was able to deal with a group of strong men with nary a bit of effort placed into it. If those three were so powerful, then Hui Se Ying and Lu Se Ying couldn't be too far off in strength.

 Thinking of it this way helped to calm Nastasia down a bit. 

Backing away from the door, she sat down in a padded chair. Though every sound of struggle that slipped through her ears made her anxious, she forced her eyes not to glance at the door. If she continued looking at it, she wouldn't be able to help herself wanting to do something.

 Just as her worry for those fighting outside started to become unbearable, the growling sounds from beyond the room weren't as muffled as before. There was a heavy step, wheezing breaths, and snarls so clear it brought a chill down her spine.
 
 Swallowing hard, Nastasia turned her gazing hesitatingly toward the door. 

There, standing in front of it, was a creature that could only be born from the minds of the greatest horror writers. And, just to be clear, she and horror films did not go well together. Thus, as she stared at that thing with this thought in mind, her entire body became numb.

 Eyes that hollowed into darkness were staring at her as a mouth much wider than a human's gaped open to reveal sharp, jagged, teeth dripping of saliva. Pallid hands tipped with long blade-like claws reached out for her. Jumping up from her seat, she fled to the back of the room, trying to open a window to escape.

 If these were the things that Li Yu Rong and the rest were fighting out there, then how were they faring against such monstrous things? Though she was anxious before, it was nothing to terror that began attacking her body now.

It had been a long time since she felt this type of fear.

Nastasia didn't understand how it had gotten in here as there were no openings for something of its size to crawl through. Not that she really cared to know at this moment. Instead, she focused on unlatching the lock of the window's shutters with her trembling hands to escape.

 That thing, it brought back all the memories of the horror movies her older sister forced her watch when she was a child. For the longest time, she had to sleep with her mother or grandfather in fear of the human imagined horrors sneaking in to snatch her up. A nightlight present to light the darkness and prevent herself from being attacked unawares.

 Although she was older now and knew better, being faced with a creature that looked like a combination of all the horror film monsters that scared her as a child made her feel sick. Getting the latch and pulling open the shutters, she prepared to shove her body through the opening.

 A rush of air flew past her ears as clawed hands smashed against the shutters. She was barely able to draw in a grasp of air from the shock before sharp teeth sank into her shoulder. A cold feeling washed down her body, stealing the strength from her.

 Eventually, her body sank like a puppet with its strings cut to the embroidered rug beneath her feet. Though she tried to move, the most she could do was to wiggle a finger or a toe. Nastasia squeezed her eyes shut as she gave her utmost to jump to her feet and run from this perilous situation. Unfortunately, she only succeeded in animating her hands from the wrist and twist her head from side to side.

 Her heart raced as she felt the thing approach. 

 There was no feeling as it grabbed her to toss over. Even as she lay against its bony shoulder, her weight pressing down on her stomach as half of her dangled from the front side while the other dangled from the back side, she could feel nothing.

 A loud slam echoed in her ears as splinters of wood and dust flew past her head. The thing from her darkest childhood nightmares rushed forward to balance at the edge of the boat. Nastasia tried to struggle free, she tried to scream and shout for release, but the words wouldn't fall from her mouth. Just as how the strength fled from her body, her voice had also been taken from her. 

 Real panic began to set in as her breathing roughened. She wasn't sure if it were the tremendous fear rising in her or if it was another effect of the creature's bite, but dots of darkness began to float about her vision.

 Then, there was a second of feeling her gut rising up to her throat as her eyes trailed the wooden hull of the boat before smacking into the water's surface, submerging below it. The water rushed up her nose; burning. She hadn't had time to take in a breath before they hit the water.

 Without any air in her lungs, they began to burn fiercely. The black dots floating in her vision worsened as her heart beat deep thuds in her chest. She couldn't move, she couldn't breathe, and they kept sinking deeper into an unknown darkness.

 Unable to handle a moment more lacking oxygen, Nastasia lost consciousness.

Nastasia Mikhailovna Vasilieva, an Irish-Russian American, a jack of all trades, and now a world slipper...

After having been betrayed by a colleague, Nastasia finds herself slipping into an ancient Chinese-like parallel world. 

Attacked by the people and chased by soldiers for being a Red Demon she happens upon a demonically bewitching man. If it weren't for the fact she couldn't understand a lick of what was being said, she never would have become his pet.

Throwing out a smile that entailed nothing good, he threw out a sultry... "Come, my dear pet, help me warm the bed."

"Ah," she bemoaned, "I know 5 languages, why couldn't one of them have been Chinese!"

Xu Xiaodong said, "Dongxue, why don't you agree? Isn't this a good idea?"

"That is... I just don't agree." Lin Dongxue hesitated. With the lesson learned from Xu Xiaodong's example so fresh, she didn't dare to take any more risks. Chen Shi was not a policeman. If he was caught, it wouldn't be as simple as shaving his head. 

Old Zhang said, "Sending an undercover person would yield the largest gain at the moment, but it also poses a great amount of risk. I think that Brother Chen is indeed a suitable candidate though. Shall we vote on it?"

Five votes agreed, six votes opposed, and two others abstained.

It was Peng Sijue and Lin Dongxue who abstained. Peng Sijue said, "This kind of voting is meaningless. The most important thing is his own wishes. He is not a policeman. We have no right to interfere with his choices."

Lin Dongxue said anxiously, "With his personality, knowing that our case can't be investigated, he will definitely go!"

Peng Sijue looked at her. "Although I am as worried about his safety as you are, with his capabilities, he'd be able to do it without a hitch."

"His capabilities only involve solving cases. Going undercover is another thing!"

"No, his strengths don't stop there."

"Do you know him or something?"

"I do!"

Lin Dongxue's voice was a bit loud, so it seemed like a quarrel. Old Zhang mediated, "Don't argue. We'll tell Brother Chen tomorrow and then we can decide then. Little Lin, let's get off work for tonight."

Lin Dongxue nodded her head helplessly. She was unable to sleep that night and wanted to call Chen Shi many times. However, every time she dialed the number, she would immediately hang up.

Finally, the next morning arrived and Chen Shi went to the city bureau at his usual time. When he saw Lin Dongxue, he smiled. "Yesterday, Tao Yueyue was watching the palace drama you recommended for the entire night. I am very pleased. Please continue to recommend these meaningless things in the future!"

"Are you mocking me?"

"No, I'm praising you. Yueyue is too smart and fond of learning. She doesn't like to play at all. I'm worried that it's a bit over the top… Did you not sleep well?"

"I slept very late. Oh, there is something we have to tell you."

At the morning meeting, after listening to everyone's words, Chen Shi said calmly, "I can pick up this task."

Listening to his tone, there seemed to be a "but" behind it, so everyone waited anxiously.

"But..." Chen Shi looked at Lin Dongxue. "You have to take care of my child for a few days."

Everyone sighed with relief. "It's okay. We can take care of them!", "My family also has children, so my wife can take care of her."

"No, no, I just need Lin Dongxue to take care of her."

Lin Dongxue didn't smile and said, "Are you sure you understand the situation?"

Chen Shi nodded. "I understand completely. The task force is waiting for the rice[1] and this task can only be done by me."

"If there is any danger, you can voluntarily withdraw and even provide our information to protect yourself. Your safety is the first priority. Do you understand?" This was the measure that Lin Dongxue thought of after thinking about it last night.

"Thank you for your concern. I'll remember it."

Everyone agreed that after three days, Chen Shi would head over. During this time, Chen Shi would not go to the bureau, lest he be found to have been in contact with the police.

Also, Ah Meng was the only person who knew that Chen Shi was a "policeman". He had to be strictly guarded and could not be allowed to inform others. 

Chen Shi was able to take a leisurely day off to prepare a table of dinner earlier on and pick up Tao Yueyue. After dinner, Tao Yueyue asked, "Where are the literary masterpieces that I wanted?"

"I've bought them. I'll give them to you."

Chen Shi took out a pile of books. Tao Yueyue looked at the titles. "So Young"[2], "Never Gone"[3], "I'll Wait for you in Memories"[4], "Love Under the Moon"[5]…

Tao Yueyue said with disdain, "Literary masterpieces?"

Chen Shi proudly responded, "They're contemporary literary classics!"

"Please. I want to participate in a writing competition. How would these books help?"

"Why didn't you say so then? I have the famous four in the house. Do you want to read them?"

"I have already seen them and they are all useless. "Journey to the West"[6] is full of flaws, "Water Margin" isn't an honest tale, "Three Kingdoms"[7] looks boring, and "Dream of the Red Chamber"[8] is like the intertwined tails of fox and dog. [9]

"Don't talk nonsense! You need to ask for forgiveness."

"Take me to buy a book."

Chen Shi looked at the time, "The bookstore shouldn't have closed yet, let's hurry!"

When they got to a nearby bookstore, Tao Yueyue browsed the books on the bookshelf. Chen Shi saw some new mystery novels on the other side. After reading the synopsis, he would go over to her and ask, "Found one?"

He saw that Tao Yueyue was holding a book called "Special Childhood"[10] and couldn't put it down. Chen Shi took another copy of the book from the shelf for himself and looked at the synopsis. He immediately took it from Tao Yueyue's hands and said, "Don't read this. Your childhood is special enough as it is!"

Tao Yueyue pouted unhappily.

"Didn't you want to find a literary masterpiece?"

 "It's no use. Those writers' writings are definitely not good."

"Be careful of the writers coming over to beat you."

"I am telling the truth."

Tao Yueyue went to another shelf and took a few books. There were "One Hundred Tricks for Writing Techniques"[11], "How to Write a Proposition", "Let Junior High School Students Fall in Love with Writing". Upon seeing this, Chen Shi was a little surprised. "You were talking about these?"

"These are very useful. The essay is written for the teacher and they're very stupid. They'll give you good marks if you just utilize these points."

Chen Shi was amused by her old-fashioned outlook and said, "You make it sound so easy. I wonder how little face you'd have if you don't win or get a prize. Okay, I'll buy them for you."

"I want that as well!" Tao Yueyue pointed out "Special Childhood" on the shelf again. 

"No. Go back and watch your palace drama."

Tao Yueyue pulled a face at him.

Taking a large bag of books out, Chen Shi took her to a fast food restaurant. Tao Yueyue asked for ice cream. The chocolate sundae quickly conquered the stomach and heart of the little girl. She enjoyed it so much that her eyes became two crescents[12].

Chen Shi said, "I have to travel for a bit. I'll be away for a few days."

"What about me?"

"You will go to Sister Lin's house."

Chen Shi guessed that she would probably cheer, but Tao Yueyue did not. She looked up from the ice cream and bit the plastic spoon. "Going undercover?"

Chen Shi was shocked and stared at her. This little devil is too smart!

It turned out that she didn't mean it like that. She continued on to say, "Am I going to go undercover? Do you want me to tell her you like her?"

"No, no. You just need to stay there like a good girl."

"How long will you be gone for?"

"Do you want me to be gone for a long or short time?"

Tao Yueyue smiled and replied, "What answer do you want to hear?"

"Your honest feelings!"

"Why don't you two just live together? I really like Sister Lin and I also like Uncle Chen. If you guys live together, it'd be killing two birds with one stone. Don't worry, I won't be a light bulb. If you want to do things, I'll close my door and pretend I don't know." 

Chen Shi smiled and poked her head with her fingers. "What a cheeky little girl!"

4. Can't find the English name for this. It's a book about a touching and warm relationship between a person and dog. Animals are the only things in this world who aren't selfish.

9. When you use the fur of a fox, if there isn't enough, they added a dog's fur into it. Meaning that the end was terribly added to an originally good thing.

She was sent to his grandpa's residence, because her dad resented her for killing her mother. She was convinced she was a vampire because of her dad's treatment. This story was a highly-rated horror story back in 2009.  

11. I don't know if these are actual books or not, but you can just regard them as textbooks/reference books. 

We follow the story of Song Lang, a genius in the police field, who due to unfortunate circumstances caused by his mortal enemy, now assumes the identity of a driver named Chen Shi. Although he had wanted to live out his days as an ordinary citizen, fate has other plans in store him. Finding himself in the position of prime suspect to a case, he assists a police officer to uncover the truth. Follow the adventures of Chen Shi as he is plunged back into the world of bizarre homicide investigations. Will he be fated to meet his enemy once again?

Looking at the four editorial assistants leaving in a hurry, Adrian smiled as he stood in his villa's front courtyard. When he recalled their shocked faces before they left, he knew that he was halfway done with promoting himself.
He chose the scripts after deep consideration, especially the four he sent out that had different genres, which were high school comedy, romantic love, romantic thriller, and horror. Besides, three of the four scripts were profitable, but not too profitable.
When the companies sent their representatives over to negotiate with him, he revealed two more scripts with potential value—'American Pie' and 'Scream'. Both were models of films with low cost but high box office sales and had sequels. He knew that the assistants could tell the films' value since they were professionals, and also because he added an informative note at the back of the scripts.
'How will the big film companies respond next?'
Adrian shook his head and decided not to bother as he had already achieved half of his goal. As long as the four films were screened and were profitable, he would achieve the other half of his goal.
Nevertheless, he felt rather regretful and was slightly not resigned to the outcome. This was because the script sold to Warner's assistant was 'The Bodyguard', which was going to be released two years later, and would star Whitney Houston. If he was not mistaken, the box office sales for that film would be 100 million dollars in North America—100 million dollars in the early '90s!
Sadly, he was not the investor, and he only sold it for 35,000 dollars, thus he was somewhat dejected. Of course, it only took a few minutes for him to forget about it.
Adrian could not just sell low-profit scripts if he wanted to build his reputation as soon as possible, so it was necessary to include a script that would be extremely profitable. As long as the producer did some thinking, and his obscure note was understood, Warner would definitely make a lot of money.
Needless to say, Adrian was mainly unbothered because he had many scripts that would make him money. Earlier when he was totally immersed in writing scripts for three months, he purposely found time to register himself at the Writing Guild not because the guild could help him when needed, but because he could store his script outlines for two years by paying a fee to the guild.
Most screenwriters would leave their outlines under the guild's care, and film companies often searched for noteworthy scripts or stories that were similar to their newly-received scripts.
Adrian stored ten script outlines that he worked on for the past three months, and was going to store more outlines or complete scripts in the future. While that might cause "duplicate" concepts, he would be in an invincible position due to the records in the guild.
As for the "past" screenwriters who might undergo changes in their lives because of this, Adrian was not concerned at all. Back when he was still Zhang Haoxuan, he read from a science fiction novel about a theory that stirred his emotions and gave him a deep impression—herd theory!
Herd theory was not proposed by the person who studied the bandwagon effect. The writer hypothesized—a billion sheep that lived in icefields moved in an isosceles triangle formation in order to survive; The sheep in front always enjoyed the grass or water first, such that the sheep behind could only eat or drink what was left.
No sheep could survive without the herd because they did not know when they would find grass again on the cold icefield, and when there would be a snowstorm. Only by supporting and relying on each other could they survive.
The sheep at the back of the formation would always try their best to push forward so as to gain the same rights as the sheep in front—fresh greens and clean water. As such, the sheep in front would firstly maintain their position to prevent being pushed behind, then they would think of a way to move forward as much as they could.
Some sheep that were well back at the herd never got to the front position no matter how much they fought, whereas some that were newly born naturally stood behind their parents, and gained a front position from the start.
Nothing was fair in the world.
Since Adrian was reborn, he took it as he was adopted by God or another almighty being who placed him in front and gave him an unusually tough pair of horns. If that was the case, he felt like he had no reason to not continue pushing forward.
Perhaps he would establish a foundation in the future to help frustrated screenwriters, or he might secretly support the Writers Guild to strive for his rights and interests then go on strike—the big strike in 2008 left a tremendous impact, and that many before that had failed. He knew about them when he was still Zhang Haoxuan. Nonetheless, it was impossible for him to give up on gaining funds and his reputation through plagiarism.
'Shameless? Of course, I won't deny that, but I don't care.'
"I'm heading out, Mrs. Galen. You don't have to wait for me at night." Adrian headed out after a while as he had an important appointment in the afternoon.
"Aright, but I'll leave two to three sandwiches for you in the fridge. You only need to heat them up in the microwave," Mrs. Galen reminded him kindly while she tidied the living room.
"Thank you." Adrian nodded, then left to drive downtown.
Although a screenwriter's status in the modern era was not as lowly as it used to be, it was not that distinguished too, or there would not have been a big strike in 2008. The three major factors of a good film production were a good script, a good director, and a good cast. That being said, screenwriters never asked for bonuses. There was not even a single screenwriter from the Writers Guild with an annual salary of 500,000 dollars back then.
Adrian was certainly not going to stop even though he managed to enter Hollywood easily by being a screenwriter.
"I can't believe that you're earlier than me, Claw," Adrian teased Claude as he sat down, then nodded at the waiter who approached him after. "A cup of latte."
Before Claude spoke, he continued making fun of him, "Are you having fun?"
Though Adrian handed all his possessions to Claude and had been focusing on writing scripts for three months, he still spent time looking at the financial statements sent by his private accountant. When he saw the curve diagrams that went up and down, he only had one thought, which was that Claude was addicted!
"Hey, why would you say that? In any case, I increased your funds by four folds." Claude put on an innocent look.
"You could've stopped when you increased it by five folds, then start again after the fluctuations," Adrian replied. "Don't forget our agreement, you must look at the situation even if you're having fun."
Despite that, Adrian was still quite dismayed. After all, it was just a verbal agreement, and based on his last statement to Claude, he could only accept the results if Claude really lost all his money. 'Luckily, I didn't mortgage my villa,' he thought to himself.
"Don't worry, I always keep the agreement close to my heart, and I won't disappoint you since you have so much trust in me." Claude smiled.
"My accountant told me that we have at most three months left."
"To me, we have at least four or more," Claude commented confidently and in a rather arrogant tone. It was evident that he benefited highly from the three months.
"Alright, Eddy. Tell me, why did you want to see me?" He took a sip of his coffee.
"It's very simple. I need to buy a film company, then direct my first film." Adrian tapped his fingers on the table gently.
Claude was this close to spewing his coffee. He quickly put his cup down, then looked at Adrian in shock.
"Warner, Universal, Fox, and Disney have bought a script from me respectively, and are fighting for the ownership of two more scripts, so you don't have to be so surprised," Adrian explained calmly.
"I thought… I thought…" Claude subconsciously did a few hand gestures.
"You thought that I was only saying it for fun? Please, Claude, I'm very serious about this." Adrian raised his brows. "When did I ever joke while officially asking you for help."
After exhaling deeply, Claude shrugged. "I know, but… Eddy, you've changed a lot."
"Everyone changes. I told you, from the day I was shocked by electricity, I'm no longer who I used to be." Adrian then waved his hand. "Alright, let's not talk about this. I initially wanted to spend 500,000 dollars to establish a new film company, but I don't have the time and energy to do everything from scratch, so I decided to just buy one. It doesn't have to be too big, so long as it's around 3 million dollars with complete departments as well as other basic relationship networks."
Claude stirred his coffee with a teaspoon and remained silent for a long time before he sighed at last. "It's really strange, Eddy. Although my rationale tells me that it's a crazy idea, my intuition tells me that you'll likely succeed."
"When did you become so sentimental, Claw?" Adrian could not help but frown.
"Alright, alright." Claude raised his hand up. "So what do you want me to do? Open a new account to keep the money? Or help look for a film company that's going to be offered for sale?"
"It'll be best if you can help, but I need you to fork out 4 million dollars." Adrian pondered for a while, then added, "Apart from purchasing a film company, I need to buy the adaptation rights of a few novels, and invest in my first movie."
"If everything is to be done as you said, your first movie's investment will be at most a few hundred thousand dollars…" Before Claude finished his sentence, Adrian cut him off. "Alright, Claw. I know that you really care about me, but please believe in me."
"Alright." Claude nodded. "But if you only leave me with a fund of 20 million dollars, I can't guarantee that I'll make 60 million dollars in the end."
"Then adjust it to 50 million dollars, excluding your reward," Adrian replied immediately.
"It's set then." Claude downed his coffee, then stood up. "From the bottom of my heart, I look forward to your miracle."

CHAPTER 1 - I❜LL TELL YOU A STORY

Have you ever believed in the supernatural? You have. Haven't you? 

Who doesn't love a story of a vegetarian vampire falling in love with the loner emo girl? We all know who Raine's been talking about. Don't we? Werewolves finding their mates on or after their 18th birthday and spending a lifetime loving each other.

Cinderella meeting her handsome prince in a similar fashion and spending a lifetime loving each other. Don't we all secretly swoon ourselves over and over again at such endings whilst thinking 'What bullshit are all those writers doing'. 

Did we not? Well, probably not in the vegetarian vampire part. But who in this world does not wish or even hope for a happy ending. But that is it. Those are fairy tales. A bunch of, over glossed stories with a sole purpose in mind of standing out, whilst the details of horror in those stories— they were better left alone and unsaid. 

Who cares for the details, right? Results were all that we care anyway. Let us just stick with that.

As Raine was humoring her miserably ridiculous life after being rejected by her mate and shipped off by her family, whilst what they said and she quotes; "So, you wouldn't depress yourself over an undeserving jerk by seeing him with someone else on a daily basis". 

Ridiculous, right? 

Her aunt Riley's soothing voice brought back her attention to the present reality. "Raine, are you alright? You seem almost lost. You've visited our pack countless times before, haven't you?" She smiled.

'Just once.' Raine had wanted to protest but then on a second thought she held it back in. 

Riley Isabelle Frost was Raine's aunt and to Riley— Raine was her most beloved niece. She had been concerned at first but after looking over at her breathtakingly innocent face, that resembled her second brother's so much; she had been angry at the person who dared rejecting her. 

At that moment, Raine had wanted to cry but had no tears. Her aunt looked to be more lost and concerned than she 'the party in question' was. Raine wasn't even sure if her aunt even knew the art of coaxing or consoling. 
And she had been right on the point. Her aunt, Riley Frost who remained unbeaten at everything else has been sucking at motivating people since her childhood.

To not make it harder on her.. Raine did what had to be done. She gave her the best practiced smile she could muster and said. "I'm fine. Just a little overwhelmed. That is all I guess." And it had been the truth but— Considering the fact that she had a facial paralysis which gave away none of her emotions or thoughts just like her dad's. Her smile might have come across as crooked or weird. 

It was a wrong and deadly move on Raine's part. Her smile, ended up making her look more pitiful than anything else whilst she remained oblivious of its effects, Riley felt her heart ache. Against all odds, Raine tried her best at conveying her present mood across to this lovely and supportive person sitting beside her. She really did try her best, but..
Her aunt was giving off a mixed air that sent chills through her spine. Anger and frustration flashing in her eyes for seconds and then what remained was endless doting. 

"It will be fine, honey. It was just that the timing was a bit off— And that asshole of an alpha heir... Hmph. He's rotten to the core." 

So this was her story now. Wasn't it? A pitiful rejected alpha mate. Raine secretly pressed on her nose bridge. This was getting depressing. She was fine. Really, she was. She wasn't someone who desired a destined partner for life anyway. Her wolf spirit wasn't being out of the ordinary either. They were of one soul and mind. She'd notice if something was amiss. 

Letting out a breathe, Raine resigned to her fate. The overprotectiveness wasn't going to fade away overnight and there was nothing that she could say or do that would make a difference. It would only make them more alert and on guard. Worse, they would think that she was suicidal; like the others who have lost their mates or have been rejected by them. 

Yes. That— Happens. Not too often though. Some reconcile and for the lost, If they persist enough they might find a second chance mate for themselves. Let's just not talk about second chances, that's for the minority anyway. She has her heart set on living a life of a hermit. As for making herself better, stronger and out for revenge? No, thank you very much. Raine feels that she was dashing enough. It was that the guy that had eyes, but couldn't see. Raine wasn't given the nickname of Ice Princess for nothing. 

And it was definitely not because she has an expressionless-hard to read face. Probably not. 

Her family had great werewolf genes, considering they came from a long mixed lineage of Alphas, betas and warriors. It gave them quite an advantage over others because they had a wide range of network and connections. There has been no secrets that's ever been hidden from the Frost lineage. Well, that is going to be a talk about some other time. Sooner rather than later, she presumes.

As the car came to a halt, Raine looked outside to admire the scenery. A feeling of serenity greeted her welcome. Aunt Riley nudged her shoulder and smiled at her warmly. "Come on inside. Everyone's waiting for you."
