These two days, Odd Zhuo had been busy focusing on a government charity fund aid program for poor students in urban areas. The charity fund was a joint venture between many large enterprises, Huaguo Water Curtain Group being one of them. It just so happened that this fund aid project was being trialed in Peiyuan district. So when Odd Zhuo saw that Wang Ling's name was actually on the aid list, he had been completely stunned.
Wang Ling's name had been included on the list at Headmaster Chen's personal endorsement after Teacher Pan had applied to Director Xie on Wang Ling's behalf. After all, the whole school knew how "terrible" his family situation was. In an era when house prices weren't that expensive, they couldn't afford to live in the school district zone in the city. Every day, Wang Ling had to get up early for a two-hour spirit bus ride to school. Moreover, he hadn't been able to bring a decent spirit sword along with him to the spirit sword exchange meet.

Odd Zhuo had always harbored deep feelings for Wang Ling this little shifu, so of course he would pay particular attention to this matter. If shifu was in trouble, there was no way that he as shifu's disciple would ignore it.
The government had allocated quite a substantial amount of charity funds this time, but there was a limit nonetheless and massive numbers of students had applied for it. Odd Zhuo's current task was to remove from the list students from middle class families who saw themselves as very poor and to strike off those from rich families who had deliberately applied for fun.
It had taken Odd Zhuo two whole days to whittle down the number of student applications in Peiyuan district from three million to three thousand.
One of the biggest fakers was Lin Xiaocong! This was a famous rich second generation known throughout the country. He talked big and was a bit overbearing. Unfortunately, no one could do anything about it because his father was Lin Sicong. "My father is Sicong" was this rich second generation's standard pet phrase.
Odd Zhuo felt that he was a honest and upright official who had never accepted any gifts or money — he would always send back any anonymous express deliveries he received at his staff apartment. This time though, Odd Zhuo really had to harden his resolve to break his own principles… shifu's business was his business. There were three thousand applicants in total, and the chances of a successful application were very slim.
Hence, after careful consideration, Odd Zhuo decided to help Wang Ling get in through the back door.
If I can help shifu secure a position, wouldn't this be a step forward in my relationship with him?
As he was thinking this, he had already made a call to the Alliance of Ten Thousand Schools' Secretary Office.
He didn't have to wait long before the call was picked up and the old leader's voice immediately came on. "Hello, is that Little Zhuo?"
"Yes, it's me, Secretary Sun."
On the other end of the call, Secretary Sun frowned. "You were just appointed as Director of the General Administration of 100 Schools. Didn't I tell the HR department to let you take a short break? Why are you still working?"
"I've been busy with the charity fund trial program these two days, so I haven't been able to take leave. I'll rest when I'm done," Odd Zhuo answered honestly.
"Mm, the children always come first. Little Zhuo, I was right about you!"
The old Secretary nodded with satisfaction. "So, why have you called me this time?"

"Of course I do. I remember that this student was very special and had a different air about him. Just think, with so many people watching at the spirit sword exchange meet, he hadn't cared at all that he had gone on stage with a wooden sword."
"Then, old Secretary, what do you think of this Student Wang Ling?"
Secretary Sun thought for a moment before he spoke. "He gives me the feeling… of integrity born out of poverty!"

"I understand your concerns, but you are now the Director of the General Administration of 100 Schools, so you have the final say on matters in Songhai city. You don't have to report to me; you have full authority to handle this matter as you see best. However poor we are, we cannot be poor in education — for such a righteous student, we should be even more diligent in nurturing him so that he will certainly become a pillar of the state in the future!"

His overall performance in the spirit sword exchange meet had been fairly ordinary, but the peach wood spirit sword which he had used had sparked a group discussion.
After the spirit sword exchange meet, this student's class teacher, Teacher Pan, had been looking for an opportunity to apply for aid on his behalf.
Headmaster Chen smiled slightly. "It seems that Teacher Pan's wish has been granted. This will truly be of immense help to this Student Wang Ling!"
"A priority aid beneficiary can apply for quite a number of provisions. I wonder what sort of supplies Student Wang Ling has requested. As long as it's reasonable, it should be within the range of the aid program," said Director Shi.

The requirements were the same as the formal examination but there would be no separate examination halls or seats. Throughout the entire process of attempting the questions, one had to be independent and rely on their own integrity.
It was already an opportunistic behavior to spot the questions before the examination.

Shi Qing was aware that Ping Cheng High School and The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China were competing with each other.
Previously, Shi Qing was spurred by Qiu Chenxi to come to Ping Cheng. Principal Wei of The High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China heard about Shi Qing's outstanding academic performance. He had pulled strings in the hope of transferring Shi Qing to his school instead of Ping Cheng High School. Elementary, middle, and high school are the participants of the Gardening program, each grade school have a representative. For high school is under control by the student council president of Kamiyama High, Jaro Haruko along side Shina Kazuyuki  student council vice president, Angero Takanashi student council treasurer, and Rei Tachibana student council secretary.

But their assistance got a high fever and needed a replacement, Ms. Nagami brought a new member. 

"W-Well you do sure know me hah-" 

"Of course!! HAHAHA!! Ohh come on, have you forgotten the day we met? You saved my life back then."

*I saved this girl?!?! Seriously when?!


"From the entry exam hmmm, w-wait don't tell me..."

-----The day of the entry exam-----

Kamiyama High, a school built for the future of this country. It's not easy to get in, you might get broke just paying the half of the tuition fee. 

"Handkerchief, extra pencils, eraser, and sharpener, all check!! I'm 1 hour early so I can read note before the exam. Everything's going well!!" 

Jaro went to the station and went to the train, 20 minutes travel from his house to Kamiyama High, he entered the gate and went to the classroom where he assigned to take the exam. The exam is about to start when they heard a in a rush foot steps from the other side of the door. 

"S-Sorry I'm late sensei!! Ahh ahh.." 

"Is about time to start, you may come in and take a seat missy." 

"Yes sir!! Thank you." 

*I can't believe a girl got late in a time like this. 

The timer has start, the girl who's late sitting besides Jaro, all students are really confused getting in while the girl haven't write something to her paper yet. 

*Uh hmmm. What's up with this girl? Wait I need to be confused or I'll regret this for my entire life!! Ohh I see now. 

Jaro handed a pencil and eraser to her*

"Here take it before the teacher saw us." 

"Thank you.." 

After the test they have to wait for the results. When Jaro's about to went home, that girl before stopped him and says. 

"Thank you again for helping me, I over slept this morning and im such in a hurry I forgot to bring my bad with me." 

*She forgot something special on a special day?!?! 

"It's cool, Im glad to hear it. Ohh crap I have to go see yah then." 

Jaro walking towards the gate of the school, he needs to go home because he promised to his beloved sister to buy her a crepe on the way home. But before Jaro left the school that girl before show up again. 

"Hey!!! The dude with a harm heart. Over here!! I forgot to ask your name." 

*A dude with a what?!?! Ohh. 

"It's Jaro, Jaro Haruko! And yours?" 

"My name is Akira Ann Ibara, but you can call me Ann if you like!" 

The two smiled and start walking. And then the day of the result!! Jaro went 1 hour early again because he doesn't want to get crowded. 

*Crap it's already crowded, well here I come!! 

Jaro got mixed with the crowd in order to find his results. He went to the top scorer list, he saw Ann's name on it.

"She's top 2 huh?"  "Can't believe he's top 1"

Those two got shock and they started a argument for no reason. Jaro and Ann got a scholarship from Kamiyama High and went in the same school together. 


------Present-day, Gardening program-----

"Ann? Is that you?!?! Haven't seen you for a while" 

"Yep it's me Mr. Top 1 or maybe.. Mr. President hehe."

The entire member got shock that Jaro actually have a fimale friend before she meet Shina!! Now introducing Akira Ann Ibara, she's the captain of the swimming club and placed number 2 in the entry exam top scoring list.

"Ehhh? Is that your. Girlfriend Jaro? Tell me more about her."

"Do you want to die or something.."

"Ehhh?!?!"


Everyone goes back to work, when it's almost got dark Jaro request the students to rest early for tomorrow. Jaro asked to gather everyone in the supporting group for a meeting.

"Is that everyone? Alright let's start the meeting!! As you know there are only 3 days left before the program ends. And there's only 65 trees we planted, we only a half way to our main goal to plant a 100 trees in just a week."

"Sir is a problem, we don't have that many tools for each person. Shall we ask for help to the other level?"

"Do as you wish, I let you borrow just students to bring the tools here." 

Next morning, Shina came along with the students who assigned to ask for some tools to use. Shina and the tools manager entered the room, they saw some students were wait for their appearance. 

" Okehh!! You guys needed some tools am I right? Well we're almost done so you can take some."

"H-How did you know that?! Did someone from us came by here before?!?!" 

"Nope, I got a call from your head chief last night, so i said it's alright to take some." 

"Ohh haven't introduced myself sorry, My name is Haruko Kaede, the vice president of Hiranai junior high school!! Nice to meet nyaah!!" 

Shina's mind* -Kaede Haruko, Haruki, Kaede. Onii-chan...? Ara?!?! Jaro's little sister?!?!?! 

"Heeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhh ?!?!?!" 

It's Jaro's little sister Kaede! She's the vice president of Hiranai junior high!! She's about to enter high school next year means this is her last job as the vice president of Hiranai junior high!! 

"Huh? You okay miss?" 

"Ohh y-yeah my name Is Kazuyuki Shina, the vice president of Kamiyama hig-" 

"You're Shina Kazuyuki?!?! Ohh mii godd you're soo cutee~ as i expected to my onii-can hehh" 

"Say what now?!?!"

Shina came back to their place with the tools their requested. Jaro ask Shina if she met the head chief of the junior high. 

"Yeah, she's the one who talked to us." 

"She? I thought their head chief is a guy."

 "Your little sister is just like You? Huh but she's energetic nor like you" 

"Kaede is their head chief?!?! She didn't tell me about that!!!!"

*Walking the same path as your big brother huh? I'm so proud of you Kaede!! 

Their preparing for tomorrow, they planted 10 tress today total of 75 tress, 25 left to reach 100. After that their are dinner then went to sleep.

And then months of their friendship have been ruined, Shina have a disease in her brain caused by the accident 7 years ago and this year Shina's having a surgery that will lead to forget all about Jaro. To spent the last months of Jaro With Shina they created a bucket list to make sure her past life being with Jaro is one of the most precious and important to re-remember of her life

Dai Li went to the municipal sports school and found Professor Qinghua Sun.
Qinghua Sun was a math teacher. Because sports training was seen as more important than cultural classes in sports school, the latter was like decorative furniture with no practical function. That was the same reason Qinghua Sun had no chance of being promoted and was still an ordinary teacher.
In the HR office, Dai Li was filling out the application seriously. Qinghua Sun stood right next to him and began his incessant speech. "Back a few years ago, our sports school would never hire contract teachers. But this year is different. Our new principal, Lu, met with corporate and all the other key high schools in our city and agreed to train the sports talent students for them. We provide the teachers, and the high schools will take care of the training fields and students. That's why we are out of hands and need to recruit some coach assistants from the society."
"So this recruitment is for the quick training of sports talent students." Dai Li nodded. He was very familiar with sports talent students because he had just been one of them.
There were three ways for sports talent students to enter colleges. The first was to become a high-level athlete. The admission rate for high-level athletes was very low. The benefit, though, was that they got a chance to enter a college without taking any tests, which provided them with more choices of colleges. To become a high-level athlete, one had to be a national first-class athlete in an individual sport or a key player on a sports team who had ranked in the top eight of national games. These two requirements might not be difficult at all for excellent students from sports schools, but it was an unreachable goal for high school students.
The second way to enter college was the special exam for sports. It was a special enrollment system that could lower the admission score. For example, if the admission score for a college was 500 points normally, then the special exam for sports only required 100 points to enter the same college. Compared to the high-level athletes, the threshold for the special exam for sports was much lower. However, one still needs to have the certificate of national second-class athlete to be qualified to take the special exam for sports in each college.
The third way was to become a sports talent student. It was mostly the same as normal enrollment, but the admission score was a little bit lower. However, it was not as low as the special exams for sports. It was very easy to become a sports talent student. You didn't need to be a national athlete. All one needed to do was to take the independent enrollment exam held by each college. After New Year's Day, the examinees who went from one college to another were all sports talent students. This was regarded as a shortcut for many examinees. Dai Li had entered college this way.
There were also some majors that were related to sports, like physical education, for example. Even though the examines had no professional sports skills at any level, they could still take the exam. However, the admission score wouldn't change from the normal passing line.
It took a long time to train and become a high-level athlete or pass the special exam for sports. One had to be the best of the best across the whole city to get the label of first-class athlete and become a high-level athlete as a high school student. This was because a national first-class athlete had to get a record that reached a certain standard in provincial or national games to get the title.
Sports talent students could be trained in a short period of time. The threshold of the exam for sports talent students was very low; one could start during the last year of high school and be well on track. The girls panic, feeling embarrassed and shame. It was one thing to insult Evangeline, but Daniel is a good man. No one wanted to hurt his feelings. And who would be happy if someone talked bad about their girlfriend behind their back?

"Don't worry guys. Daniel and that bitch will break up soon." One of the ladies sneered, confidence in her voice as she flashed out her phone.

"What made you say that?"

But that doesn't mean that only those with high economic power can get into the school. In fact, the entrance exam, although high in difficulty, is not something that surpasses that of other schools; however, every year people who enter this place can count on their fingers thanks to their intellectual capacity and, depending on the results, opt for a scholarship.

And why do only a few decide to enter this school despite the benefits it offers?

High school life represents one of the most wonderful moments of an average Japanese person, a time when the most nostalgic memories usually arise that one can evoke. And having a school life characterized by discrimination from the student elite was not something most were willing to endure.

That's the story of the Ikigai private academy. 

That was one of the many rumors I read on the Internet when I was researching which school to enter half a year ago.

It's all nonsense. 

But something told me there was a reason behind this particular rumor...

I'm obviously not from a rich family, in fact, I had a lot of difficulties in my childhood. However, I also don't consider myself a bad student or someone who will be humiliated, so despite the rumors I didn't see any obstacle to being part of this school, which, by the way, is located in the same city where I live, Yamaki City.

First, let me welcome you to Ikigai Academy, and congratulate those who took the entrance exam. This school is known for training the best of the best, so please do your best to excel and raise the name of our institution. I will now briefly explain to you how we work here..."

And so it was that the system by which the institution is governed was explained to us. The most relevant details (which is why the school is different) were the following points:

My group was assigned to room 1-D (first year, section "D"). This is the section where the school groups the students with the lowest elementary school grades and also the scholarship students. After teacher Kishaba gave her explanation, she ordered each one to introduce themselves with their name.
