A friend gave me two things: a blank book and a wish for me to find happiness. I decided to write my thoughts upon the former as I go on my way to search for the latter.

Mataas na at tirik ang araw sa kalangitan, and sikat nito ay nagpapahiwatig na magiging mahirap ang pananatili nang matagal sa labas. Panahon na naman ng tag init. Wala nang pasok sa eskwela at maingay na naman ang kalsada dahil sa mga bata'ng ang hilig lang ay maglaro sa labas, upang masulit ang pagsasaya ay hindi iniinda ang kasagsagan ng mainit na klima.
Para naman sa isang may edad nang radio host, na may napapanot nang bunbunan at malalalim na mga mata, ito ay panahon na naman ng pakikibaka sa mataas na temperatura at umaasang hindi ma stroke. Ang kanyang puting buhok at kulubot nang balat ay ebidensya ng mga nag daang taon na ginugol sa pang aaliw ng mga nakikinig sa kanyang radio show. Masaya ang trabahong iyon para sa kanya, higit na nakakapagpa pagaan ng loob ang abalang buhay bago pa niya malaman na oras na niya. Masinsinan niyang inaayos ang script at naghahanda para sa kanyang evening radio talk show. Masaya siya dahil sa pamoso ang bisita niya para mamayang gabi. Inayos niya ang mga papel na nakalat sa ibabaw ng kanyang mesa at itinabi sa gilid ng mesa. May kinuha siya sa loob ng drawer niya at isinalang iyon sa portable player. Tinanggal ang salamin sa mata, sandali niyang kinusot ang pagod na mga mata. Maririnig ang pagsisimula ng maikling introduction ng radio host.
Radio host: Tonight, we have a special guest who conquered Southeast Asia with her very inspiring novel. Ladies and gentlemen please all welcome, Janna Dominguez, a.k.a Scarlet Love. 
Janna: Thank you for inviting me again here on your radio show. It's been a while. The last time I was here I was pregnant with my first child then.
Radio host: Oh, well, my pleasure. You are always welcome here. For the regular listeners, you all know that she was an avid listener of mine ever since. So, how's your little girl?
Janna: She's fine. Thanks for asking. She's doing great. She's now three years old. My son is turning one this year.
Radio host: Oh yeah, you had a son. Congratulations. That's good to hear. Your children are doing well, I see. So, as you know, the reason why you are invited again is because of your successful debut novel. "Hidden Regrets". Some of the listeners, they've been bugging me nonstop, and they're really a persistent bunch, loved to hear from you. The first time you are here, you are just a newcomer who was eager to introduce your work. And now, you already have the best selling novel. How exciting was that?
Janna: (tumawa) Yeah. I felt overwhelmed with all the attention. Now I know the feeling when they say you got everyone's attention now. Of course, it was a very happy moment for me. Finally, I have something to be proud of as a writer.
Radio host: Well, it is evident with your smile tonight. Well, some of my listeners want to know a thing or two about your best-selling novel.
Janna: Well, I'm looking forward to this night. And I'm taking this opportunity to thank all the people who appreciate and loved my novel and thought that my novel inspired them. Thank you all!
Radio host: I know they really appreciate you being here and I on the other hand; I'm looking forward to meeting you again, So, tell us about this phenomenal novel of yours. Your first novel.
Janna: Yeah, my first.
Radio host. Your very first novel. So, tell me, who or what inspire you to write this kind of novel?
Janna: You know what, I can never thank you enough for letting me guest here tonight. I just want to clarify that the main character in the novel is not based on my best friend's life. No, it was not. The girl in the novel was a random individual who wished for a better life and then later regrets what she took for granted and thrown away when she thought the time to live a splendid life came along. My best friend was the one who encouraged me to put my thoughts into writing about this story, the protagonist who was Andrea Santiago was not just a fictional character but she can be anyone who
has taken the journey and fought challenges that have come along, not all struggles can end up smoothly, but rather it taught us how to learn from it.
Radio host: Very well said. I know what you mean about your main character, I also read a rumour saying that you based it off your best friend's life. It was good to hear that Andrea Santiago is just anyone of us, no one is cruel enough and no one should point a finger without knowing the whole story. Nobody's perfect. Now, before we continue on, a lot of my listeners were your new fans and wanted to know a thing or two behind your pen name Scarlet Love. Tell us something about it.
Janna: I love red. It was one of those very ordinary colours but it never goes out of style. It represents impulsiveness, danger, warning and most of all it represents love. It is a bit contradictory if I must say. It was like, you know the pain but you still go on. It's kind of being a masochist. But then we are all bound in the spell of love. Before, I was a nobody's girl... To give love and be surprised by what love can do in our daily life... You know it will hurt, you know it is dangerous but you still go and give it a try. So, basically, it was like my pen name is a sort of warning.
Radio host: (natawa). Wow. I don't know, for a bit I thought you will go on being serious on me, I was taken aback for a sec, you got me there, huh.

Radio host: Well, I see. So, moving forward. The main message of your book is not to dwell too much on regret and focus on what will make you happy. So, tell me, for you, what is Happiness?
Janna: For me, Happiness is like knowing how to smile every day. Life is hard, but you can't just stop midway, they always say that you need to live life to the fullest. Happiness is being able to give and appreciate your life every single day. Learning to love yourself and your flaws is happiness itself. If you are contented then you're happy.
Radio host: True enough, being a mother and a writer at the same time, does it make your life a bit harder now that you are famous.?
Janna: No. It is still the same. I'm still the proud momma who watched them grow and take time to write when I find some time in the evening after I put them to sleep.
Radio host: I'm glad you don't take it too much that you are now famous and you easily brag about that. You are still humble.
Janna: Thanks. Thanks.
Radio host: Let's go back to your book. The fact that your book is really fun to read. It has the element of surprise, it was not like a typical story with a twist and turn, neither a cheesy and melodramatic plot. I've read it twice now.
Janna: Wow. Well, I'm just like you with reading books. If it caught my attention I won't move on to another book, I will savour that feeling first and then wait for it to fade a little. I think there's something nostalgic whenever we reach the last page...
Radio host: I will later ask for your autograph.

Radio host: It has a very satisfying ending. Not all tragic love ends up unbearable and yours was one of those few, brilliant stories. It's so hypnotic and so dream-like yet it stuck to reality.
Janna: You know how much I love the truth about life that everything's not easy and you needed redemption from hate, vanity and all worldly kinds of stuff. Honestly, I experienced all of that. But at the end of the day, the bottom line is we know we are wrong and we asked for forgiveness.
Radio host: Ah... That was great to hear from you. Your novel taught us to learn how to accept things the way they are, that whatever you do there are consequences later on. Now, let's talk about the reviews of your book. Some of our readers compare it to Nicholas Sparks' type of novel. What do you say?
Janna: (tumikhim). Looks like I got a lot of explaining to do. I won't blame my readers if they thought that way. But believe me, it does not have any similarity. Nicholas Sparks writes a tear-jerker story. Mine tackles the consciousness of a human being who lived her life out of selfishness but find redemption at the end. And that's all that matters to her. It was not dramatic, I don't like dramatic stories...
Radio host: What was your initial reaction when after one year that you released your book it became phenomenal?
Janna: I heard my book was doing good abroad, but I never thought it will be this good, to be honest, I was not shocked. Let me tell you a story. There's this good friend of mine, her name is Sunny. And she's about to get married this weekend to my editor. Hello, editor, he's listening right now.
Radio host: Oh, wow. Good evening sir. What is your editor's name
Janna: Mark John Ignacio.
Radio host: Hello, good evening Mr Ignacio, hope you're enjoying the show.
Janna: Last, last month she went on a vacation in Singapore. She visited a bookstore and saw my book, she then later called me and told me this. I'm not shocked because the transition from books being sold outside the country is regularly reported to me by my editor, the sales and whatnot. So, I'm well informed. It's just that the media made a big fuss about it.

Janna: Sunny told me that everybody needs the inspiration to continue living. That's why she loved my book. As simple as that. And though it's not what everyone expects on the end they still like how it
progressed and the ending is very much expected. One of my readers wrote to me privately and said that she liked it when I stayed true to reality. Having said that, I hope that I'm still able to capture the true meaning of true love and happiness. When someone let go of the past and look ahead one day, he/she will realize; the world is still beautiful. Dreams are like a sandcastle even if you know that it will be ruined by waves you still try to give your best shot and create your own beautiful so-called fantasies. Who cares if it was done for a long time but ruined in just a second? At least, you enjoyed the time creating it. We only live once, let's just enjoy the most out of it.
Radio host: I really like your sophistry, I mean it. You are young but you understand quite well. I love the way you mould Andrea's perspective and ambitions the way most people do. It is a very rare read indeed. Very well then, I think, you have answered all the questions from your readers, and we hope that you will write more inspiring books in the future. What is it about my sketchbook that is so important to me? 
Well my sketch book has all my drawings of my imaginations, the sketch book that holds my feelings or just the little doodles for no reason from boredom, the sketch book that helped  me through my dark times. 
The  sketch book that is part of my life. 
I have always been a creative person for my whole life, I also showed people how to draw or even the request they asked me to draw. I plan to keep people to believe in themselves like I have. 
Everytime a person makes me upset or depressed I use my sketchbook to relieves all my pain that all gathered inside me, it makes me happy to have my pencil on paper and draw some type of picture that will take you away from the real world, where you can't even hear someone that is making fun of you. That you are stuck inside your own imagination, in your own world of happiness to get relief of all your depression.  
Then you look at other people, they look sad, depressed, and angry  inside of them, no one showing them the right path of relief, where the darkness can go away. 
Some people say that they can't draw or even do it, they just give up and think they can't doodle or even make a picture because they can't draw. But what if, they keep practicing their drawing skills, then they can think. I can do it, or what can I do to make this better. 
Then people can see the happiness of a picture, imagination, another world. That's what the real world is like, no ones perfect but they can at least practice to get better, to grow better.    

I believe that we all can have dreams and have hope.

After my little heartbreak and realization about the truth, I accepted that everything happens for a reason and it was not their fault for taking that decision all those years ago. Even they are humans and all humans make mistakes at one point. I can't blame them for looking out for us and giving love to us. They acted according to the situations at that time. 


It was not one's fault when the accident happened and it was no one's fault for the death of Abhi's parents. It was all destiny. Mother thought that I died in that accident and started blaming herself for everything. She went into depression because of me and forgot about her other child.  


It was only Abhi who brought her back from her depression-like state. So feeling guilty about her friends, she raised him as her own to make up to him for her fault. She treated him as her own son and loved him as one. 


It was not her fault in anything but maybe when situations like that happen, it takes a toll on the person who witnessed it physically that they start to blame themselves which actually becomes easy rather than grieving in their death. Everytime we humans blame ourselves or others for being in our comfort zone because we are scared to face reality. It's what happened with my mother. She took all the blame on herself and struggled all her life drowning in her pain.And to forget that pain, Abhi was an escape route for her. He made her happy by forgetting the pain and loss of her loved ones.


Even it was the same with my parents also. They too lost their friends and when they saw me, they took me into their wings to forget about their pain. But the moment they got to know that they can't become parents, they saw a ray of hope in me as their daughter. 


Still, they waited for their friend to come and take back her daughter but inside they were praying for her to not appear. It was for their own selfish happiness again. When they realized that their friend won't come back, they adopted me as their daughter and raised me as their own. They gave me all the happiness in the world and treated me like the princess of the house. I was happy with them and never felt like I was out of place. It was all because of their love and care that I was happy. 


In the end it was all because of pain and situations. It was all fate and destiny. No one is right to blame others. Nothing was in their hands to make it right. The only thing that is in our hands is to accept the truth as it is and live with it. Because only if you accept it, you can move on in your life. 


The stopping of the car brought me back to reality from my thoughts. I slowly glanced outside only to see my apartment in front of me. It was making me nervous to walk down and face them but I need to do it for my sake and for everyone. But before that, I need to look at my mother's picture first to apologize to her for everything. 


Abhi took my right hand in his and squeezed a little, assuring that everything will be fine. I slowly nodded my head by exhaling and opened the door of the car to face the reality.


We slowly walked in silence where millions of thoughts were running in our heads but the silence was comfortable in between us. When we stood in front of the door of my apartment, I took a deep breath to control myself from getting emotional again.


The door opened, revealing Dev on the other side who immediately hugged me the moment he saw it was me in front of the door. I froze at first but then hugged him back with all my love.


When he released me from the hug, I saw the pair of faces watching in my direction with uncertainty and nervousness that I took a breath to be tough enough to handle it. I slowly glanced at Abhi for his acceptance before entering into the house and when he nodded his head slightly indicating me to proceed further, I took the first step into the house making everyone look at me with surprise and shock. 


But I ignored everyone and walked into my room where my mother's picture was placed on the bedside table. When I entered the bedroom, I heard the voices of them asking Abhi about everything that had happened earlier.


I didn't hear his answer because I made my way towards the picture of my mother which was sitting on my bed patiently. 


It was the picture of my mother who was standing near the balcony of our old house which they buyed immediately after their marriage. It was the day when they came to the new house after completing their one month anniversary. Dad gifted that house to mother as an anniversary gift. It was very precious to them but the moment she died, it became a nightmare to dad. So we shifted the house and lived far away from that house. 


She was smiling wholeheartedly to the camera where my dad was the one to take the picture of her. Her smile was vibrant as sun with so much innocence and love in her eyes. She was like an angel in this pic. 


I remember her saying that it was her best best out of all of them because it was the day they started their new life together after dreaming every day about it. 


I slowly took the picture in my hands and seated on the bed looking at her face sadly. I really miss her so much.


"I miss you so much mom" I whispered, hugging the photo and crying again.


"I know that I didn't move on from your death completely, but Abhi was the one to make the first step for me to move on, after so many years I felt like I was breathing without getting any difficulty and it was all because of Abhi." I said looking at her picture and thinking about the words Abhi said to me a while ago.


"You know, Abhi was right about you being not happy and all. I know that you will be sad if i cry. He is even right about the part of me getting scared of accepting Hema Aunty as my mother." I said wiping my tears and kissing her frame with love.


"I was scared to replace you, but then he explained that i don't need to replace one to accept another and that i can always create a place for them. He is right about it and that's the reason I love him alot you know. He knows every part of me without even me saying anything to him. He can understand me like an open book mom." I said smiling to myself while thinking about Abhi. But then I remembered about the current situation and looked at my mother's picture again with tear filled eyes and lots of love for her in my heart. 


"Mom.. today i am going to make you free from my grip. I think it's time for me to move on in my life. Abhi made me realise that moving on doesn't mean that we forget about them. It means that we keep them in our heart while living our life where they too will live it by being in our hearts. Now I really got to know the meaning of moving on." I said with love and blinking away the tears that formed in my eyes. 


"What to do… You didn't teach your princess about moving on, so it took some time for me to realise it. Of Course there was some help from my boyfriend…" I said indicating it with my fingers and continued "Ok… A lot actually. But still i am happy to make it and accept the fate that life has chosen for us" I said looking at her adorable face with emotion when i heard her voice from behind which made me froze on the spot for a moment before relaxing again. But I never looked back to see her and I think even she was not expecting it.


"She is very beautiful," She said, taking a seat behind me and looking at the picture in my hands longingly.


"You know, she always used to fight with me that she is the best in everything and always be first compared to me. True to her words, she was the first one to make it to god" She said crying while covering her face with her palms that i turned to her side slowly because i cannot see her cry anymore. She suffered and cried a lot until now. Now it is the time for her to be happy. 


"Yes. You are right" I said making her look at me with confusion while i continued "She was first one to make it to god, so that her best friend gets to spend the time with her daughter now" I said looking at her with apologetic look on my face and joined both of my hands together while asking her sorry.


This made her look at me with wide eyed and glance at my joined hands while blinking rapidly like she cannot believe what was happening in front of her. 


For a moment she was just watching me like a foreign figure before she got back from her thoughts and gasped while placing her hands on her mouth and sobbing into her hands without making any noise. This made my heart tug in pain. So I slowly scooted near to her and hugged her by encircling her in my arms without saying anything.


She started sobbing louder this time that her whole body shook, making me rub her back to make her calm down from the emotional shock. For a while we both were like that before she calmed down and hugged me back while whimpering from the after affects of crying. 


The moment she hugged me back, it felt like my heart met with peace and the pain in it subsided making me smile wholeheartedly in happiness. I felt whole again with her and I know that she already made her place in my heart.


"I am sorry for leaving you Athira… I am really sorry…" She said, still hugging me, that I shook my head saying it was not her fault.


"It's ok. It was not your fault mom" I said drawing comfortable circles at the back of her hand when she broke the hug by placing her hands on my shoulder while looking at my face like she was searching for something desperately.


"What did you say?" she asked, whispering like there was a spell that would break if she asked loudly. This made me realise that i called her mom to which she reacted like this. I smiled giving her my sincere look and called her again.


"Mom…" I said making her eyes wide but this time it was with happiness and there was a wide smile on her face.


"Call me again" She asked, shaking with happiness that I chuckled looking at her reaction. I placed both of my hands on either side of her face and called her again with an even louder voice.


"Mom" I said with a smile that made her squeal in happiness and hugged me tightly. I laughed out loud and hugged her back with equal happiness. She was saying thanks to each and every god that was present in this universe for making her find her daughter that i smiled listening to her words which were filled with love for me. From the corner of my eyes I saw Abhi standing at the entrance of the bedroom door by leaning against it with folded hands and a genuine smile on his face.  I even saw dad, Adi and dev at the entrance with a smile on their faces. But I can see the sadness in dad's face which made me withdraw from the hug and get up from the bed.


The moment I started walking towards him, he froze, not getting what to do or how to react which made me laugh internally for making my all time talkative dad mute and confused. I smiled internally but kept a poker face outside, but Abhi got to know because he was smiling to himself by covering his mouth with his elbow. 


When i got in front of him, he was slightly shaking that i wanted to laugh but controlled myself and looked at him seriously.


"Why dad?" I asked looking into his eyes which made him gulp and stammer in between words that i laughed out loud unable to stop myself. This made him look at me with confused and wide eyes for a moment before he realised the situation. 


"Naughty girl…" He said, raising his hand as if he was ready to beat me that I chuckled at his reaction by poking my tongue out by teasing him.


He laughed, shaking his head and placing his hand on my head before taking me into his arms and hugging me tightly with all his being that I smiled and hugged him back with full heart. 


"I am sorry princess for keeping it a secret from you. I was scared to lose you" He admitted still hugging me that I nodded my head in understanding. 


"It's ok dad. I forgive you" I said with a smile on my face and kissed his chest with love. He too kissed the top of my head before releasing me and looking at me adoration in his eyes which were glimmering with unshed tears. 


"I love you dad" I said with a smile. 


"I love you too princess" He replied tapping my cheek with happiness in his eyes. 


Someone hugged me from back at the same time that I squealed before knowing who it was. I smiled at the person because he became my own brother now. 


"Hello to you too brother" I said turning towards him but still staying in his arms. He had tears in his eyes which made me emotional and hugged him in return. I missed being in his arms which always felt protective and secured. 


"I missed you my Angel" he whispered and kissed on the crown of my head. I smiled and rested my head against his chest feeling happy that I got the new family which loves me with everything. 


Abhi cleared his throat from my back making us get back from each other and glance at him with questioning eyes. 


"If you are done with my girlfriend then I would like to have her back brother" Abhi said, taking me from the brother's arms and keeping a protective hand around my shoulder which made both of us laugh at his possessiveness. 


"Jealous already?" Asked brother with a raised eyebrow that Abhi cleared his throat before speaking. 


"No. I am not jealous. It was only because I need to take her somewhere important" he said rubbing the back of his neck by giving a weird laugh. But everyone can clearly see through him transparently. 


"Yeah yeah.. Whatever makes you sleep at night my little brother" Adi said, teasing Abhi that he poured like a child to which I laughed and kissed Abhi's cheek because he looked so cute at that moment. But I forgot that everyone was in the room and watched me kiss him. 


Feeling embarrassed, I covered my face and hid it in Abhi's chest making him chuckle at my reaction and everyone else to laugh. I repeatedly cursed myself for giving into the moment and forgetting about our surroundings. 


"No problem Choti. It's not a new thing for you right" Dev said ,winking at me that I punched his arm in return, making him laugh at me. 


We all laughed because of our childish behaviour that both dad and mom looked at us with adoration in their eyes. 


I got my dad back and even my birth mother who filled the hole of my pain which was longing for mom.


There was this missing feeling for my brother which was again filled by Adi. I got my lost family back after a long time. 


And as always I am happy with my Abhi because he is the perfect man any woman could ask for. He loves me alot and treats me as a queen to which I feel blessed. 


I would have never imagined my life to become this happy but I am grateful for it. Now I have the most caring parents, protective brother, teasing friends and a loving boyfriend. I couldn't ask for more. I am happy with my life.


Destiny made me meet Abhi in that pub for the first time which was the first step towards my future and here I thought that it was just a coincidence. But life made me realise that everything happens for a reason and there is no thing called coincidence in this world. All the coincidences are like creating steps towards destiny. 


It was always my destiny to meet Abhi and fall in love with him. And it was always my destiny to face my birth mother as Abhi's mother. 


Life is full of surprises with its way towards destiny.

I woke up; feeling mum screaming at me to wake up. After getting fresh I went downstairs for breakfast. I saw mum serving food for my brother and father and she gestured me to sit. I was holding a book in my hand, which I wanted to complete today.

I sat on chair and then kept a bookmark in the book, so that later I won't have problem finding the page where I left. Then I kept the book on the table and was about to eat my breakfast.

"Dear, at least for now; find some internship and keep those books aside. You need to find a job." I heard dad say and my gaze went to him, he was fully focused in the newspaper headlines.

"Sure dad." I said almost with no feeling and a forced smile; looking all cheerful, one fake smile is enough to make others believe that you're okay.

"What are you going to do today?" dad asked

"I'll be going for an internship today." I replied.

"That's good then. I hope you get a job after your graduation." Dad said and smiled at me. I completed my breakfast and took my book and kept it inside my bag.

 I looked at him before going out.

I took my bag and headed out of my house and bid a farewell, "I'm going." A lot of thoughts started coming into my mind while walking. 

I always wanted to tell them that I don't want to do what they want. I want to do what I want and I have a dream. I want to live my dream not their. Someone told me once "Don't be trapped in someone else's dream" and I want to live my dream for my happiness. Sometime being selfish is better than losing everything including your happiness and regretting.

 While walking suddenly a figure caught my eye; I saw her face. She was wearing a white dress and she looked like she is either lost or finding something. And after looking at her; I again started walking towards my destiny.

I opened the door, "Hey Min. Welcome to work." I love books; frankly if I could then I would love to spend my whole life with books. Being with them gives me happiness. I work as a part timer in bookstore. I did lie to my parents about internships.

I saw my co-worker smiling at me. He was Gguk. He was calm guy. I went to him and smiled. He's really a good guy and both of us share the same dream. We are University mates; with him I share nearly everything.

I started arranging some books. I kept them on their places and sometimes some books caught my attention and I used to stare at those books. 

Sometimes I just wish,only if I could live in the world of books then I would have brought a library under my name and definitely a music studio. I would love to spend my time with books and music. Reality hit me when a book dropped from upper self on me. and while keeping that book. A book caught my attention; so I kept that book and took out the new book "Let It Snow" which I left in middle once and then someone took it and again returned it.

Right now, continuing that book seemed as the best thing so I started reading. After sometime I saw the time; I kept it hurriedly and started to work again. I kept a bookmark on the page where I left. Arranging the books are best. It feels so good. Literally so good

I went back to the counter and while staring at the door; it opened and revealed a girl; the girl whom I saw on streets. She looked at me and we had a short eye contact. I saw her staring at the books and going from one self to the other self. And then I saw; she took out a book. She was reading and smiling and I also smiled at that thought that she must be enjoying that book. But then my eyes landed on the book and I figured out that; the book she was holding was the one which I left. I again smiled; unknowingly. I saw her reading and I resumed my work. But I felt nervous; all of a sudden. I just hope that she doesn't buy this; I haven't completed this book yet.

She walked to me and she was holding my bookmark.

"May I know whose bookmark is this? It was inside this book. And it's written that 'I LOVE BOOKS NO MATTER HOW THEY ARE, LET'S TRUST THEM AND FIND OUR THE DESTINY; OUT OF THEM.'" I quickly bowed her and said "I'm sorry. It's my bookmark." And I looked at her, she was smiling sweetly.

'Everytime she smiles; it makes my heart beat fast.
Unknowingly she was special for me.'

"Do you want to buy it?" I asked her still feeling nervous because I wanted to complete that book but if she says she will buy; then I'll definitely give it to her.

"It's a bit costly." She kept that book on my desk and before leaving she smiled at me. She left with her pretty smile. Soon after she left I went to keep that book in its place; keeping that bookmark in it.

While keeping "Let it Snow" I thought about that girl; she was definitely the one whom I saw in the morning while coming here. I wonder how she is and hope she will find her destiny soon.

I shrugged her thoughts off my mind and kept"Let It Snow" where it was; I went back to my counter and resumed my work. 

After some time, customers started coming and I became busy and didn't get chance to think about that girl again.

My shift was over by now. The door opened and I stepped out of the bookstore. "Goodbye Min. Have a nice day ahead" I heard Gguk said and I smiled at him and left. I looked at the streets and it was raining.

"It usually rains here? I was caught up in rain yesterday too." I heard a voice.

"I hope I can be with you for just one day."	

It's a story of a boy and how he met a girl for the first time and wanted to spend the first and last day with her. Something was there between... them. They had somewhat similar story; they shared the same taste in books, music. Even though they met for the first time and the feelings were new to them yet they felt each other very comfortable.
After they spend their first and last day... will they meet ever again? Or their fate has decided something else?

Dear diary,
I'm writing after a long time, after my ups and downs, my sorrows and my joys, my tears and my laughter. I'm writing because of the relief I feel and because the happiness is just piled up inside of me that I have to let it all out before I suffocate and die of happiness...its possible.
Two years, its been two years since I left my family and everything else behind. I had told my father about my true feelings, but he never listened...he didn't care, all he wanted was power...all he wanted was money. I did explain to John, my ex-brother, that I couldn't do it. I couldn't marry him, the same man I've known as my brother for my whole life. He understood, he always did...he knew me well enough to know that I had really fallen in love....it wasn't a crush or a fling....I loved Carlos, I loved more than I could ever explain.
He spoke to my father himself the next day after I explained everything to him. He said he had feelings for me...I still don't know how to feel about that, I never expected it.
Though he spoke to my father himself, my father still harboured some intentions, he refused to give it up and said if I wouldn't marry John then I would have to marry another man of his choice. It was frustrating at that moment, I had completely hated my father. Especially when I found out the man he wanted me to marry was over 60years old.
During the dinner when he was introducing to the man, I told all of them that I was married, I was already legally married to Carlos months ago.
The looks on their faces were priceless, my mom was happy for me...I was glad she didn't scold me like my dad did. My dad scolded me a lot throughout that night while the old man left angrily saying he felt insulted, my father tried to force me to get a divorce...I didn't, I wasn't as weak as I was before, I carefully picked my words and made sure that after I was done speaking he was speechless and couldn't argue anymore.
Today...today its my wedding, the official one of course. We decided on a white wedding. I can't seem to stop myself from smiling, I don't think I've ever been this happy. I have let go of all of my remorse and sorrows, I have forgiven my father but that doesn't mean the law will. He is currently in jail and unfortunately can't make it to my wedding.
They gave him fifteen years.... Quite a long time if you ask me.
I hope he's much better when he's out.
Its almost time, I designed my wedding dress....its beautiful and I've never felt and been so beautiful before today.
This might be my last entry into this book....not only because this is the last page of the book but also because I've decided to end this dairy here. I'll take everything life gives me one day at a time and enjoy each experience and ride and share the thrill with my loved ones around me.
I hope to give this book to my daughter..if I get one, or to my granddaughter.

Amada Rosa Pérez was one of Colombia's most famous supermodels. She worked on shoots in some of the most beautiful places in the world and was used to being lavished with attention and fame and money.

I'm not a religious person by any means, and Pérez and I probably don't share a lot of values about things like sexuality. But I totally get Pérez's need for real meaning in her life—for something more than the superficialities of comfort and pleasure. It's a main theme of pretty much all of my writing.

I've railed against the all-too-common, toxic ideas in modern culture that more is better and that we can "have it all". Because I don't think happiness is something you should pursue for its own sake. In fact, happiness isn't really the point to begin with, and trying to "feel good" all the time will only make you a miserable mess of a human being.

In all of the stories told here, if you look a little closer, you'll notice that each person—all of them successful by typical measures of success—had a higher purpose that transcended the typical measures of success.

Daeshim arrived at Heathrow airport after a seven-ish hour's flight which he felt like lasted for days.  After having been through hell following the unexpected turn of events in Dubai and spending the worst flight in his life because of his bad mood, he knew what was waiting for him as he exited the airport.  "Just keep smiling and do not answer to any question", his manager advised him as the sliding doors opened and gave a view over the few reporters that were waiting outside for him.  Dressed in dark blue jeans, red Tommy Hilfiger t-shirt, black leather varsity jacket and black shades, he stepped out with one of his biggest smile and waved at them.  He then bowed in respect, thanked them and began to walk towards the car surrounded by his men and some security guys when all of a sudden one of the reporters stuck his camera next to his face and asked out loud: "What do you have to say about the news of you having a fling with a random girl in Dubai?".  

Daeshim knew very well that this was inevitable and he had to face it and he even conditioned his mind for this moment but still the question came hitting him as a sharp needle because this was not how he wanted Zara to be called or remembered, she was everything but random.  He stopped and froze on the spot and this gave way to other journalists to come closer and started bombarding him with questions.  "Who is the mystery girl?" "Is she your new girlfriend?" "Are we going to see some new developments?" "Why was the news taken down?" "Why do you want to hide her from the world?"  All these questions hit him one after another like an arrow and with every question he felt a huge pain in his chest and did not know how to react to the situation, so he just stood there like a statue.  And then his manager along with the others grabbed his arm and helped him get into the car and they drove away.  

Arriving at his hotel room, he took off his jacket and threw it away out of frustration, he went to the washroom, splashed water all over his face trying to clear away all the tensions and then wiped his face with the white towel that was kept there and crashed onto the huge king size bed.  It was a hectic day for him both emotionally and physically with him rushing back and forth to the villa and with Zara disappearing out of the blue without leaving any trace; to top it all the encounter with the media also had a hand in wearing him out.  If only he had not omitted the truth to her, all these mess would not have happened, he fulminated.  But then again, had he told everything to her since the beginning, she would never have accepted to come with him and in this way Daeshim would not have received the chance to know how amazing of a woman she was.  He could hardly tell whether keeping her in the dark was a right or wrong thing to do.  All he knew ever since he met her and the little that he got to know her since then was that she was a very down to earth and humble human being who can be happy by even the smallest and simple thing.  She did not seem to be someone that would be attracted by grandiosity and extravagance.

"Didn't she leave the pendant that he gave her?" Had he given that diamond pendant to someone who was in the glamour world, they might not have returned it back or even hesitated to accept it in the first place unlike Zara who was not willing to take it because she said she did not wear these kind of things and that above all it was too expensive as a gift.  And even when Daeshim told her that he was in the show business she did not go into a frenzy just like some people would.  A lot of people would have asked him all type of questions to satisfy their curiosity related to the glamorous industry, celebrities and among others but Zara reacted differently as if she had no interest at all.  Yes, he hid his real profession from her but she was not even curious to know more about what he really does in the show business.  And also they did not discuss about the materialistic side of the world during the time they spent together but rather about other topics that are way more important for a person like family, culture and other similar things.  "Talking to her was so easy and stimulating", he thought wearily.   

Usually, Daeshim would wake up early and do some exercises but for the first time since ages he pretty much slept through the whole day, he did not have the strength to do anything and his mood was off which was very unlikely of him.  He was normally the easy-going guy and hardly allowed a bad situation to affect his emotional state but it seemed practically impossible to let himself be unaffected by the current state of affairs this time.  "Was it because Zara was concerned?"  It was not that hard to guess knowing the extent to which he became fond of her within the last few days.  He was however woken up by a call from his manager asking him to get ready as soon as possible and to meet him downstairs in the hotel lobby, "we have meetings to attend for God sake!" Lee had said in exasperation on the other side of the phone.  So with great effort he quit slacking, had a shower and got ready to go.

He attended a meeting regarding an important ad shoot that he had to complete at any cost the day after as they were already behind schedule.  Being the professional and a man of principles that he was, he made it a must to concentrate all his attention and energy into the work at hand, provided several suggestions and amendments that can be done to make it a successful shoot. He absolutely wanted to make it back for the slight delay that he caused when he postponed his meetings and thankfully no big damage had taken place which was kind of a relief for him amongst all the chaos.  After spending the afternoon and evening in meetings, he went back to his hotel and asked Lee to stay for a little bit and discuss the situation over a cup of coffee.  "The guys have spent the whole day trying to find for anything that could lead to Zara but in vain, if we had more information, we could have worked something out".  "If only there were more details other than her name, her country of origin, I do not know how I could be so careless Lee".  "Even the airline won't give any of her information for confidentiality reasons", Lee added.    

"If only there was another way but I know there isn't, other than the fact that expecting to bump into her again one day, the probability of which is minus zero, but for now I cannot do anything else but to live with this mess and guilt, I hope I will be able to make things right one day, before its too late that is".  

It was now time to relax after spending a long tiring day, Zara arrived late at night yesterday at her brother's house; they sat for a while together for a chit chat and then went to bed.  And today after waking up, she went with her sister in law to run some errands for a barbecue party that took place in the evening.  Even if it was for a while, Zara tried to put her turmoil aside to avoid making her brother or anybody else notice the distress behind her smile.  She participated and had a lot of fun with her family, sharing only the best part of her experience in visiting Dubai and trying to make them believe that she had an awesome stay.  The truth was even if by the end of her stay over she went through the worst time of her life, if she minus that part from the story, she would get a perfect vacation with a perfect stranger.  She indeed enjoyed every bit of it, laughed to the fullest after a very long time, felt different and cared for but this was only until the truth hit her in the face.  And now she had to move on and try to forget that portion of her life.  

She thought leaving everything behind in Dubai would help her in any way to get over it but that was not really the case.  She rolled over in her bed trying to find the perfect position that will finally help her to sleep soundly but in vain; ever since that day she was having difficulty to have a good night sleep.  She would keep playing whatever happened again and again in her mind and the fact that she knew Daeshim was in London as well did not help much either.  She swore she never wants to bump into him again and even today when she went out at the grocery store, she was apprehending an encounter with him at every turn.  She was aware that he would only be here for a few days and made her mind that until then she would not spend much time wandering outside in the streets of London.

The following day she was having breakfast in the nice and cozy kitchen, with a beautiful counter in the middle covered with granite slabs and modern stools perfectly positioned; after having left South Africa a decade ago, her brother had really worked hard and had succeeded in achieving and maintaining a stable life unlike her.  He got married and now had a fourteen year girl and was living a pretty decent life with his family.   Her brother and sister in law had gone for work and her niece to college so she was sitting alone by the kitchen counter and eating her cereals when she heard her phone rang upstairs.  The sudden ringtone made her motionless and paralyzed with fear, she knew nobody would call at this time and thought the worst.  She climbed the stairs leading to her room with shaky legs to look for her mobile.  Maybe it was just her brother checking up on her, she thought to appease herself.  But when she took the mobile and saw the name of Isabella stamped on the screen, she felt a sense of relief, with a big sigh she picked up the call and Isabella as always did not give her time to talk.  "Girl, where have you been? I was waiting for your call and you did not even have the time to call me once, what have you been doing?"

"Okay, okay, calm down, I did not want to disturb you, you are on your honeymoon and…"  "You could have at least called me one time".  "I know, I am sorry", "So how was Dubai", Isabella asked excitingly. 

The question was not as exciting for her as it was for Isabella, "It was good".  "Oh my god, what's gotten into you? Are you still sleeping or what? Hello, it's time to wake up".  "I mean it was awesome, we visited a lot of places, had a lot of fun in the desert, admired the tallest building in the world and also did some shopping".  "Wait a second, who is we?"

"What are you talking about?", "You said we", "No I didn't", "Yes, you did, I'm not deaf, who were you with?" "Nobody, gosh I was on my own, anyway, I got to go now, I will share every detail with you later, have a nice day, bye".  

She hurriedly ended the call because she was on the verge to relate everything that happened in Dubai to Isabella but then realized she could not take the risk of letting anybody know, things might get out of hand and besides she was too embarrassed to talk about how she allowed herself to be fooled, so she hanged up and went down to finish her breakfast.  She washed the bowl and the couple of utensils that was in the sink and then went to take a shower.  Later during the day, she took her laptop and sat comfortably in a sofa, put on some music and decided to check her emails and do some writing.  It had only been a few days now since she left Cape Town but she had received quite a few emails within the last couple of days.  As she opened the email tab she remembered that one email that she received from some publisher; she looked for it and after having gone through it she was totally bewildered.  It was basically offering her an opportunity to publish one of her novels that she wrote online for some app.   

At first she thought it might be some bogus email coming from an amateur but then decided to verify the veracity of the email and the concerned person. She googled it and to her great surprise and astonishment, the email came from some renown book publishing company in the United States of America as she read from the search results.  She kept staring with her mouth and eyes wide open at the monitor in disbelief.  It was hard to process the information and for a while she stayed like that constantly re-reading the email over and over again.  And then it really hit her: "A famous publisher wants to publish my story; I'm going to have a book with my name on it".  She yelled and jumped all around in ecstasy, picked up her phone and started calling her brother and Isabella to inform them.  "But yeah, nothing is confirmed yet, I still have to talk to him, oh my god, what if I become famous?"  After going in frenzy, she finally calmed herself down and replied with a positive response to the email to inform the later that she was willing to consider the offer.  

Much later on, she had a Skype meeting session with a representative of the company.  She was given a thorough description about the company which was based in New York; she was told that the publishing house will take care of every aspect from marketing, distribution and warehousing of the book and that she will not have to bear for any expenses.  Zara was offered a contract with them and in return of buying the rights to publish her book, she would be paid royalties from the sales once the book goes onto the market.  She was very thrilled after hearing all this and her legs and hands started shaking out of excitement; she began writing romance fiction out of nowhere for fun and to keep herself busy with something since she was unable to secure a job, she would post her novels here and there online and had attracted quite a bit of an audience over a few months time who took a liking for her writing and fictional stories.  She would receive requests from her followers to deliver chapters daily and to create more stories, people would compliment and appreciate her work every now and then but she never would have imagined that one day the thing that she started just like that would take this shape and allow her to become a real author and have a book published by her name.

Since she was currently in the UK, she was informed by the company representative that a meeting would be scheduled with one of the editor's that happened to be in London itself due to some work related stuff.  The meeting would comprise of the contract signing, review and discussion of everything that concerned the process to publishing the book.  Once they sorted everything out, they ended the call and Zara leaned back against the sofa and closed her eyes.  She wanted to relax her senses, feel and grasped everything that just went down, she opened her eyes and pinched herself to make sure it was not a dream and as she experienced the slight pain, she felt a relief.  "Just when you are not expecting it, life will throw something at you", something that she always keeps on saying be it in a good or a bad situation and this was exactly what was happening except for this time she could not be happier and grateful.  

"That calls for celebration, we are having a pizza party", her brother said much later in the evening when Zara explained everything in details to her family.  Her niece shouted out of excitement and both father and daughter started jumping around like crazy.  "Guys, will you please relax, the book has not yet been published, I have not yet even signed the contract for god sake", Zara yelled trying to make herself be heard among all the noises that they were making.  But they were far from showing any interest and just then her sister in law said: "You know how your brother is, the kid in him will never go away no matter what" and they both chuckled at the remark.  Not to mention that they did eventually had the pizza party and had a lot of fun as they ate, chat, danced and even had a little karaoke session on top of that.  This was the happiness that she always wanted to see on her family's face since a very long time, an ounce of happiness that she would give them and be the reason of for once in her life.  "And this was only the beginning of several more happy moments, hopefully".   

 For now she had only informed her brother and his family as well as Isabella except for her parents, it is not that she had forgotten completely about them, she loves them and she misses them every day just like everyone else would but she was not yet ready to give them the news.  She come from a very modest family and being the only daughter of the family, she always wanted to make it big one day, create an identity for herself and be able to give it back to her parents who went through a lot of trouble and difficulties to give them a decent life.  So, she did not want to give them only half of a happy moment, she wanted them to experience happiness to the fullest.  They would definitely be happy when they would hear the news but Zara wanted them to experience the bigger picture that is once everything would be sorted out and the book will be published and she finally becomes a real author.  Nothing would compare to the moment of ecstasy when she would finally be able to hand them a book bearing her name and also signed by her.  

"The look on their face would be priceless".  And that is the kind of happiness that she has been dying to see on her parents face.

Character Analysis 
Meilin: It's also important to know volume four was a mistake. I forgot to delete in before I published chapter 77. I couldn't do anything about because it was a premium chapter. That's just a side note. Now Meilin, she obviously wasn't that much of a weak character but if you might've paid attention I revealed why. 
Meilin was born into a home that was already in crisis. With everything that was going on in her life at a young age, she was scared of what life would look like as an adult and her fears became a reality. As an adult, she passed through difficult circumstances that made her hate herself many more times. From the mistakes she made to the failure of realising herself, she was bound to feel inferior especially to the opposite sex. 
Because... for some reason, all the men she'd stumbled across were living a good life. Her father was actually a rich dude, but he neglected herself and her mother. A stereotype and a wrong way of thinking but that's how she saw the world. 
The playground and the elevator were almost two decades apart. What linked unlike poles together. Haru and Meilin were obviously two different personalities merging. Haru didn't have a specific one but Meilin was only liable to change towards the end of the book when she'd realised haru killed Guiren. 
Actually I did curse Meilin. Her mother's love story was somewhat similar with Her own love affair with Bao. Marry a man and he ends up not treating you right because he's never satisfied with what he has.
The Hana curse was obviously for Meilin to experience the same thing her mother went through before she died. The hana curse also affected Meilin when her daughter's turned against her, the same way Meilin turned against her mother and went ahead to live with bao. Her mother was depressed till the day she died, and Meilin was depressed after hearing her daughter say she wished she'd die. That led Meilin to run out of her house in the thick snow that cold day after chances of a blizzard was announced.
Does it all Make sense now? You can see how that relates.
Meilin's thirst for love literally pulled herself and Guiren together. Principal Li wei was just chapter fill in, I wasn't too into their romance. And I'll let you in on a secret, I wanted Meilin to have another baby, but I wasn't too sure of who'd be the proper biological father so I decided to dump those ideas.
Haru: Heartthrob and our unsteady antagonist. Haru was a really bright boy with all the possible good emotions and positive vibes. He was never really sure about what the future had for him because of the way he painted the world. At his young age, he imagined he'd be a successful business man, have a car and a wife. That was all he imagined. His imaginations were normally about space and superheroes. He wasn't even that moved by the world 'love' even when he met Meilin at the train station it was a normal 'friend request'
And when he met Meilin at the train station, he believed more in the power of optimism. But once Haru reached his teenage years, especially when he was sixteen...he changed completely. For almost all his life he didn't know his parents were dead and the people he was living with were just relatives. His cousins didn't even like him because of the attention he got from his aunt who he always thought was his mother. He was living a lie and was puppeteered to think he had a perfect life.
The yang family was wide and nothing but power struggle. People could kill just to inherit the leadership of the enterprise. It was obvious that his aunt and uncle had their motives but he never bothered to ask. It would make him feel bad more than he already was.
It made him doubt the whole love thing. It made him think that it was nothing but a chance of benefits. His relatives claimed to love him but it was clear it was just because of his networth and all his father left behind. But None of that made him happy. He wanted someone that could understand him.
Even when he met Ai jin he knew at once that she wasn't the type that'd listen to his insides but would remain totally with his external features. 
When he met Meilin again he had a feeling that they knew eachother but not too much. He didn't have anything to back up his claim but he was still sure..
His greatest fear was having everything he craved for being taken away. Just like how he lost it after he found out who Guiren was. His selfishness got the best of him and he ended up killing his 'opponent'
Haru had always been emotionally weak, the next thing that comes to his mind what what he'd follow. An example was when Ai jin fell down the stairs and the only logical explanation was Meilin. He was quick to point fingers because his emotions were like a consuming fire. Same emotions made him cheat on Meilin after he got rejected time after time.
But no matter all he did, his love would still rekindle.
Ai jin: A princess, and Beijing's number one idol. She's unique, pretty and talented but her number one flaw Is her hunger for drama. Well Ai jin is one of my favorite characters, and I wished I actually did more for her 😔 
Before her fame, she was the nice soft girl Haru used to know before he broke her heart. Everything she worked hard for was to show Haru how much she'd achieved without him. 
What hurt her was the fact that he could only say congrats and it seemed like it was no big deal. She was on billboards and magazines and what even pissed her more was her discovery of Ai Jin. She felt downgraded by a mere elevator girl that somehow managed to be his 'personal assistant' 
It was all funny that Haru could find someone like her attractive more than an A lister model. Ai jin unlocked her jealousy trait and swore to kill Meilin if things would get that severe. 
She wasn't fighting because she loved haru, she was fighting because Meilin wasn't even in their league. She wanted to push her away because she believed they couldn't even breathe the same air. They were rich and she was poor, haru wasn't supposed to surrender himself to her so weakly. Ai jin assumed that she just came for money and only that.
Bao: The character everyone hated. The perfectly nuetral character. Was he really that bad? He started off as a boy at the oustkirts. Lost his caring mother and his dad went ahead to marry another woman that cared little about him. Bao actually did love Meilin, he got arrested because of the dreams he had. He wanted happiness, that's all for himself and Meilin. Everything went wrong when he realized he couldn't give Meilin what he thought he could because of his criminal records.
He resorted to violence because it somehow relieved him of the stress. He needed someone else to blame so he decided to punish Meilin for the mistake that he made. He wished he never met her. He was sure his life would've been different.
I did want Bao to have a little bit of his human emotions so I decided to not let him kill Meilin's babies. He still somehow cared about her but everything he did was for his own benefit. 
His relationship for Ai jin was for money at first and he didn't think he'd fall for her. When he did, it felt like he was being mind controled. He was ready to take all risks as long as it was for her. But in the end, he died. At this point I think I have to type less now.
I was going to talk about Guiren but I can't because it will make it too long. You know what, I still will.

The alternate endings— 
Meilin died when she got hit by the truck that ran into her but I didn't think you guys would like that.
Ending 2 
Guiren marries Meilin and Haru goes to jail where he actually belongs.
Ending 3 
Meilin lives happily ever after with Haru.
I didn't plan to kill Guiren but I had to.
If you weren't satisfied with the above endings. What else did you want? 
People must have noticed how much I like building my sandcastles and smashing them. That's probably because I wanted to make the story longer and I just enjoy ruining my character's happiness. I can't let them fall in love at first sight and expect a happily ever after.
Now to address the matter of not liking this book— 
It's something that's inevitable I know but sometimes I prefer not to hear it. I don't have more than 24 hrs but I try my best to always keep the book in mind and update as much as possible. I only take days interval whenever I feel like no one would care. I make a lot of mistakes but I promise to fix all that before March. It won't be easy but I'll try my best.
Final note
Just know I'm planning to start  another book anytime soon. Not sure yet but I have a lot of incomplete projects that I don't know if I can

Meilin Yee Luan, a woman in her early twenties. She's sure she made the worst decision of her life. She married an irresponsible man and has to deal with the burden of living with him.

Bao Luan, her husband. He's an arrogant drunk. He doesn't care about the fact that his wife Is working multiple 9-5 jobs just to make sure they live a comfortable life.

Her situation didn't change. Day by day it worsened, the financial burdens increased when her husband left home for a long time and she has to deal with his debts all alone with no help. 

Her family cut ties with her and she was left alone to live with her husband. She wishes to apologize to them but as long as she's still his wife she can't go back.


Her depression increased when she lost her jobs and she was struggling to get a better one but the good spots were all taken.

She's forced to work as an elevator girl in a famous company and earns a medium salary. Her life was in for a change the day she was trapped in the elevator with a stranger. The CEO himself.

They drove back home quietly, none of them said anything along the way. Even if it's Wanshan Li first time to witness her doing such stuff, he doesn't say anything. To him, the most important thing right now is that Huan Li happiness. He has also long known that his cousin isn't as easy as she looked like.

When they arrived in front of Huan Li's house, it was 9 PM. They bid farewell and Wanshan Li only said one thing to her "Be careful". He was eager to take Huan Li to their house and live with them, but she always rejected them everytime. He is very clear about her life in that house, ever since his aunt death, Father Li never came back to check her daughter.

"I know, cousin" , Huan Li smiled at him, she knows that they want her to have a peaceful life, but with such people around, how can she sleep and eat well? She will definitely pay them back for what they did to her and her family!

She went back inside, the moment she entered, she can feel that there's another person in the living room. She frowned, she remembered that she doesn't have any appointment with anyone. 

Her family's villa also is heavily guarded, without any clear identity, you can't even step in. Then that's mean this person has a connection with her family.

While she is still in a deep thought, the man in the living room already stared at her. He only raised his eyebrow and chuckled low. 

When Huan Li heard his voice, her whole body freezed. Yeah, how can she forgot about this guy. She looked up and saw a handsome figure leaning against the wall, still in his casual attire and still holding the same book that she saw last time they met. 

This handsome figure is none other than her soon to-be fiancee, or should she say, an ex-boyfriend. Now she finally understand why he can enter easily, for the past three years they have been together, the time he came to her house can't even be counted anymore.

Even the old maid and security were familiar with him. Huan Li sighed, she was too busy with her step-family that she forgot about this matter. She and Yunlei aren't that close, they were a couple in junior highschool for almost three years, and they broke up naturally after graduation. 

For three years, she thought that he will become her long live partner, but who thought that he will disappeared after graduation. He disappeared and she can only move on slowly from it, who knows that he will suddenly appeared in front of her after three years.

She pressed her temple and said impatiently, "What are you doing here?" 

When he heard her tone, his smile froze a little bit. "Nothing, i just came back and wanted to greet you". He said weakly.

"Oh, if that's all you wanted, you can leave now, i'm tired." , she said impatiently. After she said that, she pushed her wheelchair to her room. 

Yunlei looked like he wanted to help her but then he withdraw his hand and put the book that he brought to the table. "Here is what you gave me 3 years ago, i was planning to return it. Thankyou, and goodbye" 

Right after he said that, he turned around and leave. After he left, Huan Li went to the living room again and looked at the book on the table. 'Peach Lavender Violet' , that's the book's title. 

She laughed at herself, 3 years ago, her innocent self fell in love with this book because of it's tragic story. She gave it to Yunlei while saying "Yunlei, look at this book, even thought the story is tragic, the romance feels so real, i wonder if our relationship can be like both of them?" 

Right, that happens. Exactly three years ago, the scene from the book seems to recite itself in her life. Her mother dead, her boyfriend disappearance, her dad remarried. That year was the coldest day in her life, when she almost lose all her reason to life. That game brought her a reason, getting new friends, new partner, and other stuff that was missing.

Yet, after three years, bad things will always happen to her. She wondered, what did she do? After she gave that book to him, it's like a curse that slowly coming and haunted her. She chuckled, picked up the book and threw it to the trashcan.

Even if there's still a trace of his warmth, yet none of it bothers her anymore. Three years ago, her heart died for him. For both of them, it's the end.

She regretted it, if she didn't give him that book back then, will her life still be as peaceful as that day?

What happens when you find out that you have lost everything when you come back?
