After being tricked once again by Blacky Sheng, Flower Qi made a solemn vow that he would get back at Blacky!
Since he was one year older, Flower Qi brandished his fists at Blacky Sheng in a threatening manner and said, "Say you're a pig and maybe I'll spare you. Hmph!" 
"You're a pig," said Blacky Sheng calmly.
Flower Qi said, "… I meant you!"

"Alright, I see." Blacky Sheng gave him a knowing nod, then turned to leave, mumbling, "That was a very strange request."

Blacky Sheng and Flower Qi went to the same traditional Chinese culture class.
Flower Qi nodded off over his desk, drooling. He was still reciting the text in his dreams. "'The Rules for Students' are the Sage's teachings. First, be good to parents and respect elders; next, be reverent and trustworthy. Love everyone and become close with the kind-hearted…"
"Hey, wake up! The teacher's coming!" Blacky Sheng tugged his sleeve, but Flower Qi replied with a swat from his hand and a loud protest, "Leave me alone!"
Blacky Sheng made no comment.
The teacher was next to them now and said angrily, "Qi Yanxi! You're sleeping in my class again! Sheng Yize can recite 'Tao Te Ching' already, but you can't even remember 'Standards for being a Good Pupil and Child'!"
Flower Qi woke up with a jolt at the bellow.
The bubble at the corner of his mouth burst with a pop.
The white-bearded teacher was all the more exasperated. "Gosh! You're incorrigible! Have you done your homework?"
The homework last week was to write some ancient style prose from memory.
It was an impossible task for Flower Qi. He barely knew how to read, and all of a sudden, he was required to recite some ancient text, which worried him so much that he almost skipped dinner!
Judging by the look on his face, the teacher knew that Qi Yanxi hadn't done his homework. The old man rolled up his sleeves and scolded, "You brat! Go stand in the corridor!"
After all, he was the heir to the Qi family, and there was only so much the teacher dared do to punish him.
Blacky Sheng suddenly spoke. "Sir, he did his homework."
He then handed the teacher an exercise book.
The teacher opened it suspiciously and found some very messy scrawls inside. However, it appeared that Qi Yanxi had indeed finished his homework.
"Hmph! I see you followed my instructions for once! Work on your handwriting!"
After the teacher left, Flower Qi flipped through the exercise book in disbelief. "Did I do this while I was asleep?"
Blacky Sheng smirked. "You're such an idiot. I did that for you."
"That can't be! How come your handwriting looks so ugly?"
"… I wrote it with my left hand."
Flower Qi, whose handwriting was even worse, was utterly defeated.
However, he was still greatly moved. "How nice of you! You did my homework for me. Blacky, I think I'm falling in love with you…"
"Go away!" Blacky Sheng rolled his eyes. "I just… hate it when you cry so loudly."
"I'm a big boy! I don't cry!"
Blacky Sheng smiled at that. "Qiuqiu just told me that she wants to be my wife. She said I could kiss her."
Rumble —
It was like a bolt out of the blue!!
Flower Qi howled. "Blacky Sheng! I'm going to kill you! Sob…"
Blacky Sheng only said cockily after Flower Qi howled his throat raw, "You're so dumb, Flower! I made all that up!"
He was so gullible! Hahaha!
Flower Qi wrapped his hands around Sheng Yize's neck. "Don't trick me ever again!"
"Alright."
"I can give you everything, but not my wife! Stay away from my girl from now on!"
"You dumb Flower. Fine, I will, as long as you don't smear your snot on my clothes."
"Teehee.
"We'll be best buddies forever!" Flower Qi raised his little fist.
"Tch." Despite the indifferent look on his face, Blacky Sheng raised his fist without hesitation and bumped it against Flower Qi's.

Will code breakers discover hidden messages in breaking down the original Cicero text and Latin version?  Will the answer change if you consider the alignment and direct of words written in ancient Greek (a language that might transcribe leftward or rightward or a combination; depending on the age they wrote it).

I doubt it.  It doubt anything meaningful would be discovered; because the simplest answer is usually the correct one.

Lorem Ipsum exists because of corruption, reproduction, retelling, reprinting, misspelling, cut and pasting, and editing.

It is something to consider as I write today.  Will my word survive, and if they do survive; would I recognize them?

Virtual binary numbers were floating around Zane's head, an empty world of pure blue light presented itself in front of him. There was no ground visible under him, but something kept him in the air in this small box-like universe.

This place reminded Zane of a movie he watched some time ago; this universe looked like a bad rendering; an attempt at looking like some kind of spawn point – a place where players should arrive when entering the game world. He could easily see that the once menacing void beneath him looked more like a solid coloured texture that hadn't been scaled properly, causing a pixelated effect.

"Aghhh!", Zane's head was still hurting from the fall that nearly broke his neck on impact. He could still see the gaping hatch-like hole above him, even more intense blue light was pouring out from what seemed like another box. The other box above him looked like some kind of gate made of blue light, it looked like there was something else behind it. It could be that this world was connected with similar worlds, or maybe, his world, the real world, lies behind that light.

'Where am I?', Zane touched his body, making sure that everything was still... Attached to him in the right way…

"Great… Even though I don't know where I am or what's the meaning behind me being summoned here in the first place through that gate, at least I'm still alive and in one piece…"

Being summoned was the first thing that came to Zane's mind when thinking about his situation. He read countless Light Novels and Web Novels describing this situation. It would only take a few minutes or hours at worst for some magical fairy or goddess to come and explain the situation to him. Maybe she'd give him a few cool gadgets or perhaps make him overpowered like most of those Isekai protagonists he read about. And even though he had gotten summoned into this place, it didn't look like the setting for a generic Isekai plot - who would like to read about a guy being summoned into an empty world with nothing to entertain him?

Zane stood up and walked around the empty blue void, finding nothing but annoying blue numbers flying near his hand. He shook his hands violently, trying to get rid of those annoying numbers, but to no avail, they kept flying around him like mosquitoes, trying to suck his sanity away. They seemed to be inspecting him like some kind of drone. Perhaps they were trying to verify that the 'hero' had successfully been summoned to their world. Maybe they'd finally give a signal to the creator of this world. A welcome wouldn't hurt, right?

He took a few steps back when suddenly, a door presented itself in front of him. The door was made from the same blue digital texture that he had seen all around him. Cautiously, he touched the door, causing it to ever so slightly open, revealing a normal looking bathroom. Surely this must be a dream, what kind of world has nothing but a door leading to a bathroom?

'Fuck it, this dream is already weird enough, if this is my gateway to freedom, then I'll take it without hesitation.', he thought as he pushed the door further open.

What freedom would he find by entering the bathroom anyway?

[Hello there? Can I help you with anything?]

A robotic voice could be heard behind him. The voice didn't sound familiar to him in any way but it felt like he'd heard it before – just before falling down he heard it singing some kind of song. Not that he understood what it was singing about but it was surely singing about something that sounded joyful.

"Uhm, hello?"

[And what exactly are you trying to achieve by opening the door to the bathroom mister...? What's your name exactly...?]

"The bathroom? What kind of fever dream have I stumbled into? I'm sorry for disturbing you… What's your name anyway?"

[You call my home a fever dream? Humans these days, always walking into my home as if they own the place...]

"Humans? Home? What exactly is this place? I must be dreaming right?"

A feeling of utter confusion was growing in Zane, as if his life force was trying to run away from his body, leaving an empty shell of a man behind – a vessel without a soul.

[Dreaming? Hmm, that's something I haven't heard in a while. Most of you start crying or ask me about various kinds of gadgets. But no, you're still asking me if this is a dream? And you're calling it a fever dream? Show some respect…]

Zane slowly turned towards the source of this strange and rather annoying voice only to find a floating digital display; the same kind that can be found in any generic MMORPG game. It was giving off a blue emission and was filled with a transparent background texture. Its edges were a dark blue but it didn't seem to display any text; it was just hovering in the sky, minding its own business as if it had been doing just that for most of its time in this place.

The display remained silent, it was as if even it was confused by Zane's presence now. It twitched and manoeuvred around Zane. It started to scan his body, taking everything into account. His length, body type, hairstyle and all of the other details he possessed were being scanned and saved somewhere.

When it had finished scanning, the display emitted an annoying high-pitched robotic sound - probably trying to imitate the voice of a human. It started showing blue text on its small screen. Yet again, the same kind of text layout you'd find in a game. The font looked exactly like one of Zane's favourite MMORPGs; "Immortal Legacy".

"Excuse me floating display, but..."

[Floating display? Seriously!? Enough is enough! And for pity's sake, answer my question, what's your name and what are you doing in my house?]

An angry emoji appeared after the display had printed out its last sentence. The emoji itself looked like a pixelated version of the ones commonly found in texting apps.

"I'm... Zane, and you are?"

[SYSTEM REBOOT]

"Where am I?"

[Where you are doesn't matter anymore!]

"Who are you?"

[I'm a System-type entity, you don't require further information human.]

"What?"

Zane, finding himself in a virtual empty dimension with a nagging game-like system flying near his hand who rudely asks him to complete near-impossible quests, is trying his best to NOT GET KILLED.

"W... What?" Tsubaki stuttered as she was trying to take in what Kanako had said. "You said... This handwriting is familiar to you?"

"Yup." Kanako peered carefully at the image displayed on Tsubaki's phone screen. After looking at it again, she nodded her head in confidence. "Yes. I'm positive I've seen this kind of handwriting before."

"Then!" Tsubaki had almost pounced on Kanako once the latter finished speaking. Her lips were trembling as she continued to ask, "Then... what about the name? Do you know the person? Could you bring me to her?"

"Uh..." Kanako knitted her brows, she looked conflicted over Tsubaki's anxious face. "About the handwriting, I could confidently say that I've seen this a number of times before but for the name I just have a faint recollection of it."

The light in Tsubaki's eyes dimmed. Her hands that were fisted in her anxiousness slowly flailed at her sides. Kanako noticed the change in Tsubaki's expression. It was the first time for her to see her new friend looking glum like this.

"Why? Do you have important matter with the person?"

Tsubaki bit her lower lip. She sighed inwardly as she hung her head low. Kanako who saw that didn't press Tsubaki to immediately answer. She returned to her seat in front of Tsubaki. Her hand slowly placed Tsubaki's phone on the table.

Tsubaki looked at the photo on the screen. Her hands gripped the hem of her blouse tightly as she didn't know how to describe her feelings.

Kanako unexpectedly said she recognized the name and the handwriting. What did that mean?

"Kanako," Tsubaki call out the name in a quiet voice. She raised her eyes to meet Kanako's confused ones. "If I ask you questions, could you please answer me without me having to explain why?"

Kanako paused to think as she found Tsubaki looked awful. Her eyes were no longer bright as always and there were fear and anxiety evident on her face. Kanako was wondering why did Tsubaki change so much from her cheery personality once she said she was familiar with the handwriting and the name on the screen. But, she knew Tsubaki must have her reasons if she didn't want to disclose the matter.

"Okay." Kanako nodded. "I won't ask you if it's a private matter. What do you want to ask me?"

Tsubaki let out a sigh. The remaining of her ice cream was already melting inside the cup. It took her a while to recompose herself before she opened her lips.

"Earlier, you said that you've seen this handwriting somewhere before but you didn't really remember the name so... does that mean these two are separate matters in your mind?"

Kanako took Tsubaki's phone. She once again peering at the photo. This neat handwriting and this name...

"Yes. I knew I've seen this handwriting somewhere but I couldn't recall it correctly. My memory is quite good so if you want, I could try searching for this one. If I wasn't mistaken..." Kanako squinted her eyes as she tried racking her brain. Her head tilted to one side, her brows furrowed. "I feel like I always see this handwriting on cards... oh ya! Like on an invitation card!"

Kanako snapped her fingers as she remembered it. She looked so delighted when she returned Tsubaki's gaze.

"On invitation cards?" 

Did it mean... Kanako might know this person?

"Yes! Yes! I'd usually read the cards sent to my family home so I think I could find them for you since my Mom never throws these cards away. But, as for the name..." Kanako crossed her arms as her mind was gathering her memory. "I think I've heard the name of Fujioka Masami before but I couldn't remember correctly from where."

"It's okay if you don't." Tsubaki decided to not feel downhearted hearing Kanako's words. It was already better when Kanako said she would help her. "This is an important matter so I really hope you could find the cards for me. You don't have to look for them one by one. I could do it myself. I just needed all the cards first. Please, Kanako?"

"Alright, it's not a big deal," Kanako readily agreed to Tsubaki's request. "Whatever you're searching for, I hope I could be a bit of your help. Once you return back to the city, I'd contact you again. I'm sure my Mom has stored the cards somewhere inside the study."

"Thank you!"

By now, Tsubaki looked a little relieved. She was glad she had accidentally let go of her phone when Kanako was surprising her from behind earlier. If not, she could never guess this young lady could help her.

It was a quarter to 6 when they finally parted their ways. Tsubaki and Kanako exited the parlor, they promised to meet again in a few days. Both of them were waiting for their respective rides outside of the parlor. Kanako's car arrived first. Her Mr. Bodyguard opened the car door of the back seat.

"Don't worry, Tsubaki," Kanako patted the back of Tsubaki's right hand. "I'll find the cards for you and I'd definitely try to remember whose name is it. So, enjoy your short vacation in your hometown, okay?"

Tsubaki let out a small laugh. She nodded her head, agreeing with Kanako. "Okay. Thank you again, Kanako."

Kanako laughed as she bent down and hugged Tsubaki's small frame. Her tall figure was further heightened with her high heels, Tsubaki looked so small inside her embrace. After that, she left while waving happily at Tsubaki.

"Madam."

Tsubaki turned her head toward Kaede's voice. She had already arrived with the car. Tsubaki gave her a tired smile as she got inside the car. Once she fastened her seat belt, Tsubaki leaned her body against the comfy cushion. She closed her eyes, trying to escape from the threatening headache.

Kaede just silently looked at her Madam who appeared so gloomy unlike her usual bright self. She never looked like this. Before she started the car, Kaede took out her phone and sent a text to a number.

The ride to Spring Garden was only filled with the soft music played by Kaede. She would occasionally peer at Tsubaki who was still closing her eyes at the back seat. Kaede deliberately drove the car slower in order to not disturb her Madam and due to a certain someone's order too.

The journey was twice longer than usual.

"Madam, we've arrived," Kaede announced once she parked the car in the box exclusive for President Fuse's home unit.

"En?"

Tsubaki opened her eyes with difficulty, she blankly looked at her left and right before she rubbed her eyes tiredly. She didn't expect she would really fall asleep.

"Thank you, Kaede," Tsubaki muttered out her gratitude once she alighted the car. "You don't have to escort me till upstairs. Go home and rest."

"Thank you, Madam."

Kaede watched her lady's disappearing figure with a worried face. She looked sluggish. Kaede noticed that her Madam and Miss Esumi had a heavy conversation before they returned home but she knew it wasn't her place to meddle with. That was why she felt obligated to send a message to her Master.

Tsubaki didn't know how she came to standing in front of the door. She remembered gotten off the car and entered the elevator but her mind was blank until she reached their unit. Tsubaki shook her head, feeling helpless. She entered the keyword and held the door handle, wanting to push it.

She wanted to be home.

But, he wasn't here.

Ren said he would return early but she doubted it would be somewhere before 8. She had packed their clothes and necessities for tomorrow's trip. They would take the flight heading to the airport near her hometown before taking a car ride for almost one hour.

Tsubaki opened the door wide. She listlessly dragged her feet inside. Her energy had been drained by the outing and the revelations by Kanako. As she turned around to close the door properly, a tall shadow loomed over her.

"Sweetheart?"

Tsubaki's shoulders slightly jolted up when she heard the familiar voice. She quickly spun around, her gaze meeting a pair of dark eyes. Tsubaki froze for a moment as she took in the soft smile on his face. She stared blankly at the man standing before her. Her lips parted slightly.

"Welcome home," Ren added as he walked closer and gently brought her into his embrace.

Only when she was enveloped within the warmth of his body did Tsubaki return from her daze. Her hands immediately encircled his slender waist. Tsubaki looked up, his eyes were as gentle as ever as the light in his eyes softened when he met her gaze.

"I'm home," Tsubaki said, almost choked up with her emotions.

Ren smiled. He leaned his head down and pressed a soft kiss on her forehead.

"You're home."

Tsubaki nodded. She closed her eyes tightly as she sought peace from his warmth.

It felt so good to be home.

With him.

"I'll make you fall in love with me again." He gently rubbed her head.

"Maybe Jake can say something to Jeremy about it?" Noah suggested. "Jeremy is close to Jack so maybe that'll help make the process faster."

Mr. Atkins noticed my discomfort. "No, there's no need. As of right now, nothing can really make the process 'faster'. We still have to follow the steps and their protocols. For everything else, it would just make it easier." He patted the top of my head. "This just makes it official. Just know, you're already a part of this family."

I smiled. 
Everyone started to go back to their seats and began to open up the food. The atmosphere turned for the best as everyone seemed to be happy. Almost everything was going well. The twins had their summer planned out. Mr. and Mrs. Atkins notes that their big project was going well. Zeke's graduation was next week. My adoption papers are in the system. 
"Do you boys want to do a birthday dinner out of the house this weekend?" Mrs. Atkins asked the twins. 
"Most definitely!" Dave said. 
"Steak!!!" Kyle cheered.

Mrs. Atkins laughed. "Okay, I'll make some reservations." She turned to me and Noah. "I spoke with someone from the school district. They have a summer school program in place. It's mostly for those who didn't pass the course originally, but they said it can also replaced future classes. The only thing is, because it fits a whole lot of school work in a span of a month, the classes are longer. So one class. Still want Spanish II so you don't have to take it your sophomore year?"

"Yep!" Noah answered easily. "A month in exchange for a year of no foreign languages? I'm in! Jake?"

I nodded in agreement. High school only required two years of a foreign language. That means that we'll be done sooner rather than later. "What do you think we will take next year then?"

"Probably an elective course." Dave interjected. "That's what our classmates did instead of taking their second language."

Kyle laughed. "It's good that you guys are getting the hard stuff out of the way now. I know so many guys having to take a language in their last two years of high school because they picked the easy stuff first."

"We took cooking last semester." Dave pointed out. "That was pretty cool. We would get to cook something almost every other day and then get to eat it."

Noah looked to me, excited. 

I laughed. I can already see us taking cooking in the fall just to satisfy Noah's sweet tooth.

"You have time to look it over and make a decision in August on registration day." Zeke spoke up. "Don't forget you still have to take an art at some point."

"Take digital art with me!" Dave said. 
"No, we're doing Art I for beginners." Kyle corrected. 
Dave scrunched up his face. "No thanks. I don't want to play with paints and crayons. I rather do it on the computer."

"But this would be more fun." Kyle said. 
"If by more fun, then you mean more work." Dave corrected. "I heard digital arts is way more easygoing. Plus, real life skills."

"That's enough." Mr. Atkins cut into the argument. "You guys don't always have to take the same classes. It's okay to pick what you actually want to do." He glanced towards me and Noah. "You guys as well. Pick your own interests."

"Cooking." Noah declared. 
I looked at him and nodded. I was okay with cooking. 
Mr. Atkins sighed, but didn't say anymore on the subject. 
The conversation drifted to how Kyle was going to try to fix his hair tonight. Apparently he also bought a color corrector that should help him, but we'll see. 
After dinner, everyone helped with cleaning up before we all split up again. Noah and I went to our room to prepare for showers after making sure all our homework was done. Zeke went on a run. And the twins were going to fix Kyle's hair. Even their parents had work to do before getting ready for bed. 
I pulled out my phone and sent Jeremy a text, stating that I watched his game with Noah and Zeke. He did well. Congrats on the win. 
I paused. I wanted to tell him about my adoption, but...it was a little awkward to bring up. Especially over text. Especially when Minnesota was three hours ahead so he should already be asleep. I sighed, shook my head to clear my thoughts, and pressed send on what I had originally planned to say. 
As expected, I didn't get an immediate reply. I put my phone on the charger and left it alone. 
"Did you just text Jeremy?" Noah asked, pulling his pajamas out. 
I nodded. "Yea."

"What'd you say?"

I shrugged. "Nothing special. Just 'good job' on the game." I looked at Noah. "I wanted to tell him about the adoption, but..." I shrugged again. "I think it can wait."

"Yea." Noah agreed. "It's not really his business anyways. Plus, he should already know. He called Zeke your brother."

Right. That made me feel better. "I'll just tell him the next time I see him in person."

Noah nodded and went to take his shower. After twenty minutes he came back, and I went to take my own. I came back to the room with my pajamas on and found the twins inside, showing off Kyle's hair. It was...

"It's still pink!" Noah laughed with glee, pointing at the pale pink hair on Kyle's head. 
Kyle ran his hands through his hair in frustration. "I'm going to get you back Noah. Somehow, some way."

Dave laughed along with Noah. "Just accept it Kyle. Like me! We can pull off pink hair. And at least it's a pale pink now. Much more cool, and less weird. A few more washes and it'll come out for good."

Kyle groaned. 
I put my dirty clothes in the hamper and sat up on my bed. "I think it's okay."

Noah laughed. "It has Jake's stamp of approval. Just live with it. It'll definitely be gone by the time you guys leave for your first camp."

"If it isn't, I'll have to shave it off." Kyle declared. "I don't want coaches noticing me for pink hair and not for my pure skill."

"I think it can work in our favor." Dave shrugged, easygoing. "I wouldn't mind keeping it."

Kyle rolled his eyes and stormed out of the room. "Psycho!"

Dave laughed and followed him out.

In the next class, which was math, I couldn't focus on the lesson because all I thought of was Nate.  Back in the classroom, when I opened the piece of paper he threw at me, it was his number scribbled in messy handwriting.  I smiled.  When did he write this down?

"Melanie?  Why don't you answer my question because it looks like you already know this by the way you're not listening to anything I'm saying."  I looked up to see my teacher along with the rest of the class looking at me.

I sighed, "Sorry Ms. Kim."  When she turned back I rolled my eyes.

Before lunch, I told Jennie that I had to go to the bathroom and that she didn't have to wait for me.  

She smiled at me worriedly.  "Okay, just text me if you need something.  Alright?"

I nodded as she hesitantly turned around and walked towards the cafeteria.  As soon as she turned the corner of the hall, I turned back and took the stairs next to the bathroom.  When I reached the very top of the stairs, I pushed the double doors that led to the roof.

I walked over to the very edge and looked at the scene in front of me.  I could see people on the benches laughing with each other and some walking on the track field.  My gaze shifted over to the school's football field and I saw Leo and his team playing soccer.  I squinted my eyes trying to look for his blue jersey with 22 written in white.  I found him and I saw that he was passing the ball to someone else.  As Leo passed the ball, the guy with 4 on his jersey kicked it and scored.  Was that Nate?  Not caring about the height of the building, I leaned over the ledge, trying to see who it was.  

As number 4 came closer to the bench to get a drink of water, his face was clearer and I could see that it was Nate.  Then I suddenly remembered the piece of paper he gave to me.  

'I should text him right now so that I don't forget,' I thought.  I searched my hoodie trying to look for it but the only thing in my pocket was my phone.  I started to panic.  Did I loose his number already?!  I shoved my hands in the pockets of my jeans.  Nothing.

I stood there with my mouth open.  How could I have lost it already?  Should I ask him to write me another one?  Wouldn't that be embarrassing?  I groaned and face palmed myself.
