Prologue: The Story behind Eranoth's Lore-books.

Eranoth stared at the blank pages of his outdated version of Microsoft word. "Growing up, I studied a large assortment of really random stuff in depth. How do I make this useful?" He asked his elder sister, RedPandaChick. 
"I don't have an answer for you, however, I am using my knowledge in writing. Using actual knowledge and applying it to my stories is great!" She replied.
"I'm doing that, but it doesn't seem like enough." Eranoth thought for a bit. My research has almost no real life application though… "Wait! I have an idea!"
RedPandaChick looked up. "Oh?"
"I have wanted to compile my research on various topics into one place anyways. Why don't I write it down and share it. Others can then learn different ways to apply story aspects and I can make my odd knowledge useful!"
The elder sister smiled. "That sounds like a great idea! There is another author that the people in the webnovel chat on discord they call "Wikipedia" because they have answers to a lot of things. This could be a great way for you to get involved in webnovel before you get further in your actual novels."
Eranoth smiled. "I think the other authors may appreciate it."
"I think more than just other authors will appreciate it." She replied.
Eranoth excitedly got to work. Hoping that Eranoth's book of lore research is well liked despite the limited story being told. 
The adult male started writing. "To the readers: As most of the content has actually been created through extrapolation and pondering on the subjects in question rather than from a website or specific sources, there will be very few reference links to actual resources. To authors that are struggling with means to understand the intricacies of things, feel free to message me a "subject" you wish for help understanding. While I cannot guarantee accuracy, especially if it is out of my realm of expertise, the lore I write in these books are fantastic ways to apply concepts. Happy writing!"

Lore Book 1: Shapeshifting: An in depth on the myriad methods of creating change to oneself or others. 

Chapter 1: The basics of shapeshifting

 "Most people think of shapeshifting in a few simple ways." Eranoth muttered to himself as he pondered how to simplify the explanation for chapter 1. "The most commonly accepted method is known as blood-shifting even though most don't call it that. Blood shifting has a few sub-categories but that is for another chapter or 3..." 
Relaxing Gameboy Pokemon music played on youtube as he wrote.
He pet the cat sized white tiger plushy RedPandaChick got him while she was at the zoo last time. "How would you explain it?" 
The inanimate object did not respond. 
Eranoth steeled his nerves as this was something he had put off for years. "Over the ages many people have tried to give shapeshifting a very esoteric definition. For the sake of simplicity I am going to use the following very broad definition. *Shapeshifting is the act of changing from one shape into another.* This broad explanation is actually very inclusive and brings in topics not commonly associated with shapeshifting. But that is a topic for another chapter."
"Shapeshifting has many names. Some of these include: Form shifting, Mutating, Evolving, adaption, Transforming and so on. Despite the fact that these names talk about the same 'over-arching concept', they are actually very different when you get down to the nitty gritty. " 
"Logic is a difficult thing to have when involving shapeshifting outside of the 'norm'. Think about it, how can a frog suddenly become a rabbit? When push comes to shove, how does it actually work? Magically?"
Eranoth face palmed at his own sarcasm.  "Sorry, allow me to clarify. When writing about a magic there is a 'logical' explanation for that magic, how it works, and so on within the realm the magic exists in. Often times, the 'how it works' for shapeshifting, magical or not, is glazed over, especially when it isn't the primary focus of the story. Lawless shapeshifting can actually lore break."
"Take Legendary Moonlight Sculpture for example. There is a low level npc evil priest that casts a transformation type unholy spell and turns a soldier from the enemy into a ferocious wolf that attacks his own best friends. The soldier couldn't stop it or resist. Holy! That is powerful! Why not use that spell to destroy an army rather than a fireball?"
Now let's turn our attention to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For those who have not read it, I won't go into detail to avoid spoilers. My personal favorite chapter in that whole book is a lore broken transfiguration spell. The target couldn't resist. Their wand fell to the floor. They couldn't use their magic as a result and they became a harmless critter completely at the mercy of the caster. If that much power could be used from a simple spell, then couldn't the dark lord have been stopped ages ago by being turned into a pocket watch?"
Eranoth laughed to himself. "In games it is the same. The MC saves A B and C from transformation curse. But if you really thought about it, if the curse were cast on the MC wouldn't the story suddenly end? Instant game over? Another in game example, MC uses transformation spell to perform task D. They are able to pull it off flawlessly and nobody suspects a thing."
The old pokemon music ended and Eranoth pulled up another song by a remixer named Kamex.  He took a deep breath after complaining about ads about liberty mutual and google fi.
"As you can see, lawless shapeshifing can lead to a plethora of questions and break the lore of a story. However, Shapeshifting shouldn't be a taboo. In fact, when I start posting my own stories on webnovel, you will see that shapeshifting can actually amplify the story or allow for a very different way to affect a story. To be honest, I haven't read many people's works yet. However, I want to applaud the writer Harry_Dresden in regards to his comprehension of shapeshifting within the world of his book Werewolf in another world. Even though it is the easiest of the lore to find information regarding, (Conditional Bloodshifting and Illusion-shifting), every time transformations are involved in his story, the lore is maintained."
"When involving most things in a story, you should consider a few things. What purpose does it have? How does it work within the world I have created? Shapeshifting has a bit more to consider as well. What is the cost? What is the result? How does it happen? Does it end? ETC."
Eranoth put his face into his hands thinking that this is probably too much of an info dump despite the fact that the entirety of the book is intended to be an info dump.  "I should take a break and prepare the chicken I will be using for dinner." He said as he left his computer behind before getting ready to write chapter 2.

Note: Due to the nature of the book, there is very little 'story' but I have tried to break it up a bit with story to make it less of a straight info dump.

So I decided to take the story a bit more seriously and used my time to create a plan for this book. Well, do you know what happened next? I accidentally deleted it, and I now have no way of getting it back. Trust me, I checked thoroughly. I don't really want to create another one so either I can go from the top of my head and keep winging it or I drop this story. This story is a mess with me, forgetting a whole ton of things. If you guys decide it would be better for me to drop this story, then I will create another plan for what I might have done just to give you guys some satisfaction and then officialy announce me dropping this story. I hate it when authors just disappear or say that their story is on hiatus but never come back. (Thinking of you "The Supreme God System")

Also, I want to make a Gintama fanfic on fanfic. Net and am looking for ideas. I got inspired to do this after reading Dawn of a New Life by alter yi. Amazing book would 100% recommend it, but I am not sure when the author will update again.

Anyway, I am only going to make this Gintama fanfic after I either dropped this book or I finished it. If I continue this book, the updates will be slow maybe a chapter a week. Not because of any bullcrap reason the authors keep giving like my internet stopped working or I lost my laptop but because I am very lazy and the excitement from writing a new and original story is gone. I kind of just lost my drive and determination to write this but I will keep going if you guys want that. I don't mind either way.

So a quick pole:

Option A: I drop this fanfic write out what I would have done with it so you guys can have some satisfaction of how it will end and then create a Gintama fanfic I don't know when.

Option B: I will continue this story with less determination and post once a week until either I am completely fed up and unwilling to keep writing this story, or I finish it.

I know I am not the best - nor am I a very good - writer, but I tried to make it enjoyable for you guys. Ko Gohon's mood was happy as ever, as he smiled and said, "In that case, I'll wait for Young Master Dali's money, haha."
"Mm, no problem." Hong Dali wasn't the least self-conscious of his squandering. "Then, we can just do the procedures today."
After hanging up the call, Tang Muxin exclaimed, "Dali, that's one million! One million! You can just directly give the author's family this sum of money, why do you need to give it to that annoying rascal Ko Gohon!"
"I know." Hong Dali shrugged. "The problem is that we don't know the contact details of the author. What choice do I have then?" Hong Dali turned his head and looked at Ling Xiaoyi. "Author of 'Martial Spirit,' Luo Xue, has unfortunately passed away. Thus, Zhong Dian website, in order to do its utmost to help Luo Xue's family, has invested one million to purchase the contact details and all the copyrights of the author of 'Martial Spirit.' Now, Zhong Dian website officially announces that 'Martial Spirit' already belongs to Zhong Dian website. Now, we're searching for authors willing to continue writing Martial Spirit till it finishes. At the same time, Zhong Dian website promises that all the subsequent earnings of Martial Spirit, after deducting taxes, will all belong to Luo Xue's family."
This was the full content of Zhong Dian website's declaration. It did not mention a word about what Hong Dali did.
Ever since this piece of news had been released by Zhong Dian website, countless people started to award and support "Martial Spirit" which had already transferred to Zhong Dian website!
And after this announcement had been released by Zhong Dian website, a Great God-level author named Tian Yuanlong from Feng Yun website posted the following— 
"Fight fight fight! Fight against Zhong Dian website for creating hype using Luo Xue's incident!"

"Ah?!" Ko Gohon was shocked. "Why? That's over 400 authors, over 100 elite writers! It's fine that those without contracts left, but it wasn't easy for us to poach those with flat fees!"

Dissmissing the blue screen announcing 3 levels gained, Robert drools at the sight of the book with mystical symbols that suddenly appears on it and the shield that was somehow unscratched after Robert barrage of manabolt.

Holding his breath in antacipation Robert says "Inspect."

"Awesome now I got a ranged attack agianst speedsters and it' also useful for sneak attacks.Learn." A red light passed through his eyebrows and after the light disaperred it was like he had every part af the spell known like the back of his hand. Having absorbed the skill book Robert turned his attention towards the shield. 

"Inspect." Says Robert for the second time.

Another blue screen appears.

Biggy's shield. Rare quality. Description. The shield origin is a molton rock created by fire magic from the attack of a unknown wizard. After making it a perfect round shape by dipping it in lava and added a metal handle to it with bolts, Biggy's shield was born! Requirement 10 strength.Effect:Super hard(Can only by destroyed by level 100 Armament haki or by a legend name grade sword).+ 4 Vitality.

Authors note 1: I believe sword ranks in the one piece world only has japanise names so I came up with new Sword ranks and names.

 Rank 1. Ordinary swords. Can be bought at any store.

 Rank 2.Graded swords. Have been forged by Smith that has learned armament haki and used it while forging the blade turning the blade purple. 

Rank 3 Named swords. A sword that has been forged with haki and followed a dead grandmaster swordsman that also has mastered in his lifetime making the swords name reach the corners of the world. The blade now has a black or deep purple color depending on how long it has been since it's owner has died.

 Rank 4 Legendary Named Swords. A blade very rarely seen with only seven blades known in the world.  A sword forged by a blacksmith that learned haki and  has had several masters of the grandmaster level. This type of sword is rarely ever circulated outside Wano's Shogun family or it's great clans since this sword is of the highest quality and is almost always a family heirloom. The only known exception is Mihawks Night sword in the orginal one piece story.

Authors note 2: 
Gear drops are something that the Gamer devil fruit creates therefore they will also have a separate system that determines the quality of an item. The ranks of quality is:
1.Normal or Trash = Broken weapons
2.Rare
3.Special
4.Unique
5. Myth
6. Legendary
7.Divine

'While gainig new way to protect myself is nice, I don't have 360 vision and if I have my hands full having another pair can save my life.' "Here Bobby this is for you." Says Robert  while trying not to show the ache in his heart. 

"Wow thanks Robert" says Bobby  with a wide smile knowing that it must good stuff after seeing Robert funny facial expressions.

This novel is dropped because I want to write something else.

 I do not own One Piece or The Gamer Manga. This story is not a original story but a fanfiction. Please also be understanding of the fact that there is more than hundred revealed locations so far in the One Piece story with more to come so there is know way In can remember them all. To write around that problem I will make islands up though obviously the seas, Reverse mountain and key locations like Mariejois, Marineford and the Yonko’s territory will stay the same since I think it will be more interesting than following completely in Luffy’s footsteps because that is my alternative since I don’t have a perfect memory. I suggest readers is in their teens since bloodshed will be depicted with detail like this: The blood sprayed on Roberts face when he cut into the marine throat. This is a novel encompassed with mystery, ethics, family ties, and romance. Of course, the highlights of this book are the murder cases. 
Although it’s a modern setup where none of the characters have a system or any other cheats, the Author managed to delight me with her writing, creative plots and a good pace without dragging her story. 
I marvel at the way the Author links up the clues and plot to explain the individual cases as well as paving the way to unravel the huge conspiracy behind the individual murders. Romantic plots are light-hearted so readers could take a breather from the plots of gruesome murders.

Some of the authors on Webnovels were inspired to write their own stories after reading the works of famous authors. Perhaps some of them believed that they could do a better job. Some of them ran out of things to read, so they decided to write the "story" that they want to read. While others… just want to write a story that they think will be popular to the readers.

Ironically, the stories that they had written also inspired other readers to write their own stories as well. Hopefully, this cycle will never end. Murakami: But it also means that it's more like hit and miss.

Reili: True because they don't get the feedback from fans.

Murakami: They get limited feedback from an agent/editor who doesn't want to read their work.

Zenith: Yeah, but it surely is better than nothing.

Murakami: And they're left with a bunch of abstract and vague advice that they have no idea how to implement.

Reili: If they don't enjoy it, the feedback won't be as insightful.

Zenith: They can learn from their mistakes from reading their own works.

Reili: Well…

Zenith: If possible, from platforms.

Murakami: If they knew how to do that they'd fix it and publish it.

Reili: It would make the process easier if someone who enjoys the book to give them better feedback.

Zenith: It's called rewriting from scratch, and it takes a tonne of time if the author feels more interested in some other idea of his, he would do that.

Reili: I suppose so since the author being inspired will bring his book along.

VKBoy: If the ones giving review are professional editors, then they don't necessarily have to have read your work with immersion because their suggestions will still likely cover the basic flaws that amateurish writers usually make.

Reili: Point taken.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: @VKBoy if they spot those errors they'll put down the manuscript after the first page

Reili: Then again, its a little bit like movie critics. They may hate the movie, but fans love it.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: And then send a reply saying, "Don't send in another manuscript until you learn how to write properly."

Zenith: Professionals in the said field prefer not taking risks. Especially in movies, but books, you can keep trying.

VKBoy: Well, if there are errors in the first page itself, that's a whole different thing, lol.

Murakami: No, but a good editor can tell the writing quality from just the first page even if you've crafted it perfectly, they can just tell that the rest will be shit.

Reili: You have to also take into account of one punch man. The original comic looks terrible, but the redraw made it amazing.

Reili: So a persons writing and grammar may be terrible, but with a little editing, the story itself could be amazing.

Reili: But it would also help if the author re-reads the edit to make sure the essence of their story is still there.

Reili: Same but honestly I just use Grammarly and the read aloud function in word to make sure the chapter makes sense.

Reili: I'm more into thinking up ideas and writing them than editing.

VKBoy: Editing is also writing, mate. Rewriting is where real writing lies.

Zenith: It's a skill in writing a story, but your choice.

Murakami: You can't be a writer without being an editor.

Zenith: Editing it yourself can help you keep the heart of the story.

Reili: That being said, the more I write, the better my basic grammar became.

Zenith: You will keep the feels right.

Reili: Editing is now part of the process.

Zenith: And not make it just sound or look better, you give what the story wants

Zenith: I want to learn grammar and revise what I learned.

VKBoy: @Zenith Learning grammar will take years, so take it slow and steady. That way, memories stick with you for longer times.

Reili: I do read mtl sometimes since I can't wait for chaps, but then I find myself reading in broken English and must stop.

Murakami: I'd like to correct that statement VKBoy. Learning grammar is easy
learning "usage" is hard.

VKBoy: lol, if you read mtl, your IQ drops. Believe me, this can affect a person's writing skill in the long run.

Reili: Definitely, which is why I stopped.

Author's Notes

I'm sure you've read this a few times in the previous chapters, but I had been reading MTL chapters for the past few years. I usually read "Completed" stories, and most of them are around 2-4k chapters each. Of course, I read the translated chapters first. After I reach the latest translated chapter, I will immediately jump to *cough* Google Translate.

Yeah~ I know. Reading chapters through Google Translate was the most…epic mistake I did in the past. I've finished World Defying Dan God, Battle Through the Heavens uhh…and a few more novels using Google Translate.

In the later years, I discovered lnmtl.com, which gave me a better translation (at least the names of the characters are not written like Cloud Che instead of Yun Che (Against the Gods). 

To be perfectly honest, If I didn't start writing, I would have continued to read these machine translated chapters even now. Reading MTL works if English is not your first language.

This is something that those with English as their main language will scoff at. However, for those who just want to read. As in reading something without worrying about anything else, then they won't care even if it's a machine translated chapter. As long as they will be able to read the NEXT chapter, then it's all good.

This is also the reason why I admire translators. If not for them, these stories that we are not aware of will not be able to grace us with their presence. I would like to thank the translators of my favorite novels like Lord of Mysteries, Release that Witch, Against the Gods, Cultivation Chatgroup, Second Coming of Avarice, and so many other titles that I won't be able to list here.

To my beloved readers, if there will come a time when you feel like writing a story of your own and you're reading machine translated chapters, please stop now. I'm saying this for your own good. 

I understand how you feel. Believe me I do, but for the sake of the story you're going to write in the future, heed my advice. Stop now, while you still have the chance. Learning how to write from scratch with broken English is a painful process.

Then again, if you find an editor who is a masochist, consider yourself lucky. Let them clean up your mess for you, so you can focus on writing your story, and learn the art of writing while you write.
