As I make way up the glass fitted elevator. I take a deep breath as I try to stop my breakfast from this morning coming up.

Walking with strength in my stride, I ignore all the stares from the office workers around me, as I make my way past the secretary  who tries to stop me.

"Dylan... President is on an important call" She says while  trying to block my path.

"Move out of my way. How dare you try and  stop an owner from walking in his own home" I answer her coldy and with a bit a fear she moves out of the way.

Pushing the large oak doors open, where the sign reads President lee.

I made my way into his office that screams mega wealthy.

As I enter, he raises his head  and acknowledges my entrance as if he was expecting my visit today.

Putting a smile on his face, he speaks to the other person on the line, "President Wan, I will have to talk to you later. A very important person just walked in. I will call you later. Aha." 

And proceeds to put down the responder.

"Hello there Dylan. What can I do for you today?" He asks

"Well "Uncle" I see you are doing fine. Considering you failed coup attempt."

He scoffs, " Come on, Dylan. It's just business. Business and family never get along" as he stands making his way over to the bar pouring himself a glass whiskey.

He then proceeds to take a seat on the guest seating, motioning for me to do the same.

"Mr.Lee. My team finally finalized the report for my motor vehicle accident. " I say as he swirls the quarter filled glass cup and takes a sip, "And do you know what they found? Uncle?"

"Why don't you enlighten me?" He asks smirkingly

"They found that my breaks were perfectly consistent of an anti-lock and master cylinder failure."

"Is that not what our internal investigation concluded? It seems like your American contacts aren't as impressive as you thought" He said  as he recalled  how strict my team was when retrieving my vehicle from the Korean forensics department.

"You are right on that point. But the whole picture isn't drawn yet. My team found that it was perfectly consistent, that it was too perfect. You see the thing is Uncle, life is made of imperfections. The anti-lock system and master cylinder in my vehicle was designed to fail. I was just lucky that it happened now, it was a long term plan."

" 'Oh noo'" He mocks concern, "Who could have done that?" 

"Well Uncle, Lenin once said, when it is not immediately apparent which political or social groups, forces or alignments advocate certain proposals, measures, etc., one should always ask: "Who stands to gain?", You see uncle you can stop playing the villain  now. While I can say you stand in a position of benefit, you are not the one who gains most with my fall... It's someone else."

"Like who?" He asks testing how much I know

"Rothschild" I say blandly, It's the first time since entering his office that I finally get him to get a reaction from him as I see him grip the glass cup with full force.

"How do you know about them" He asks straightforwardly dropping all pretences.

'The Rothschild Family. The Mythological family said to be worth 100 trillion dollars. The family who owns an interest in every major central bank in the world. Who has financing both sides of every war since the 1700s. The shadows, who own media, oil and even governments.

Well the truth is not far the myth. While they are not worth even a trillion  dollars collectively, a more accurate estimate would be around 500 billion. They are surely still one of the most powerful players'

"Weren't they amassing shares of S-Group for the past 2 decades? And aren't they the reason why the project which led to my expulsion, had miraculously suffered from sub grade production?' "

About various shell companies own 11% of the collective stock, which could all be traced to that family.

"But I still don't know why... I have a hit a wall... Something which I think only you can answer. Now please tell me why you are working for them?"

He smiles condescendingly, "Me? Working for them!?" He throws the glass filled with alcohol at the ground, causing it to shatter and shards to fly and leaving small cuts on his hands.

"Do you really think I will for one second bow my head down to those pieces of trash!" He says as he rhetorically asks me.

"Then why try to force me out of the company ? 'Uncle'? And don't give me bullshit like protecting me. I want the truth."

"The truth, can you handle it?" He asks as he stares at me condescendingly waiting for an answer.

"I'm here now, aren't I?"

"Yes you are." He sighs heavily, "I suppose I owe it to Sa-rang"

At the penthouse of the Grand Cruz Plaza —
It's been three days since Christian Cruz had agreed to fund the project.
Oliver has been busy with his experiment. He pauses as he examines his specimen in a graduated cylinder. He shakes the substance inside the glass container.
This is the main ingredient. This is the key, but I need more of this.
He looks around the penthouse unit.
Mr. Roland Jalosjos has personally brought all my laboratory equipments to this place. Mr. Christian Cruz made sure I got them all here for my work, but I am missing something... something very important.
Oliver scans the area and spots a man near the elevator. He walks towards the man.
The man: "Yes, Mr. Oliver Reyes."
Oliver: "Who are you again?"
The man: "I'm Tom Jose. I'm assigned by Mr. Christian Cruz to be your personal bodyguard. You can call me Tom, Sir Oliver."
Oliver observes Tom.
He's shorter than me, but he's lean and muscular. He really looks like a very good bodyguard to me.
Oliver: "Tom, who is the other guy helping me?"
Tom: "That's Jackson Simon. Mr. Christian Cruz assigned him to be your personal assistant. Do we need him now?' I can call Jack, Sir Oliver."
Oliver nods: "Yes. Tom, please call Jack right away. I need him here."
He turns around and notices a bed.
This is where I sleep, but I rarely sleep. It's all work for me. Well, almost all work… work then eating and drinking. I'm thirsty again.
He opens the refrigerator and pours himself a glass full of water from a cold pitcher. He drinks his water then he drinks some more eventually emptying the pitcher.
I'm stuck. Come on, think. Think Oliver, think. What do I need to do next?
Oliver marches back to his working table. He sits down and closes his eyes.
 
"Mr. Oliver Reyes? Sir Oliver? Sir, you need me?"
Oliver opens his eyes: "I need to go back to the river."
Jack: "The Pasig River?"
Oliver: "Yes Pasig River."
Jack: "Where in Pasig River?"
Oliver shrugs: "I don't know. Wait, where did they find me?"
Jack: "Mr. Roland said the police found you near the Plaza de Mexico."
Oliver nods: "That's where I need to go. Let's go there now."
Jack bows: "Yes, Sir Oliver."
They walk to the elevator.
Tom presses the down button.
Oliver: "Tom, are you going with us?"
Tom nods: "Yes, Sir Oliver. It's my job to protect you."
Oliver laughs: "Very good, Tom."
Oliver stares at Jack: "Hit the road, Jack."
 
A diamond silver metallic Mercedez Benz S-Class arrives at Plaza de Mexico in Intramuros, Manila —
Oliver, Jack and Tom exit the car.
Oliver closes his eyes for a moment then begins walking aimlessly.
Jack and Tom stares at each other as they're baffled at the erratic ways of the young scientist.
Oliver approaches the Pasig River. He kneels down as his two hands touch the dirty polluted water.
Jack tilts his head: "Sir Oliver is touching the dirty polluted water."
Tom shrugs: "Maybe he likes to play with water, especially dirty water."
The flow of dark-colored Pasig River picks up speed as a shiny black thing surfaces near Oliver's hand. He picks up the shiny object that looks like some kind of a bowl. Oliver stands and walks back towards Jack and Tom.
Jack narrows his eyes: "Sir Oliver, what is that thing?"
Oliver laughs as he shakes the object: "I accidentally dropped this thing into the river. I really need this for my experiment."
Tom crinkles his nose: "Sir Oliver, how did you locate that black thing in the almost black Pasig River?"
Oliver raises his two hands up as he continues his laughter.
"Magic, luck, call it what you want, but I know where I lost it. So, I know where exactly I should look. The important thing is I got what I am looking for."
Jack scratches his head: "I guess so, Sir Oliver."
Tom shakes his head in disbelief.
Oliver enters the car with Jack and Tom following.
Jack goes to the driver's seat: "Sir Oliver, where to?"
Oliver chuckles: "I'm hungry. Let's go back."
He stares at the shiny black object: "Hit the road, Jack."

"Hey, Hi, Hello? Jeez, nothing seems right."

Yep, that's me. A nervous wreck and only 6 years. As you guys are familiar with, witches and wizards typically go to Hogwarts at the ages of 11-12 but due to the scandal with my father (Harry Potter) there have been some additional security measures at Hogwarts to prevent something like that from ever happening again. So, 6 year old me has to take a tour around the school building and meet my professors. 

"Phoenix, calm down. You'll be okay. I realize most of what's new is because of me, but you'll be just fine."

"You're just saying that because you're my dad, Dad."

So being me, I put my big girl face and and followed my dad out of the house, well. We used a port key to get to Hogwarts and there were a bunch of people surrounding my dad.

"Glad to see that you haven't changed Harry. What brings you back here today?"

"Phoenix, you can stop hiding behind me now."

"You have a little girl Harry? So she'll be attending here just like you did. I hope she isn't anything like her father.

"McGonagall, she's a handful. Right off the bat, maybe in the next 6 years things will change but for right now, I don't think that's the case. She's gotten into as much trouble as I did here in my common room. I hope she'll end up in Gryffindor. I know you'll look out for her."

"Harry, we'll look after Phoenix."

"My name is Aria and my dad is the only one who can call me Phoenix!"

"Then hello Aria, my name is Professor McGonagall and I'm the headmistress here at Hogwarts."

"What happened to Snape?"

"He was killed, by who must not be named."

"Oh come on! Just say his name! I was the one that killed Voldemort, it's no longer taboo to say a name!"

"Harry, you of all people should know the danger of saying his name! The Ministry of Magic found you by placing a hex on his name! Who knows that they haven't done the same even though he's dead."

Oh believe me when the Ministry showed up the look on McGonagall's face was price less but frightening to the younger me.

"Harry James Potter, you are under arrest for supporting the ways of who must not be named and for stepping foot onto the Hogwarts premises after you were repeatedly told to not come here again once you graduated."

"Daddy what's going on? Where are these people taking you? Daddy, what's going on"

"Phoenix, everything's going to be okay. I'll be home before you know it."

"Don't leave Daddy!"

"Aria, come along now. Your father said it himself, he'll be back before you know it. But in the mean time I'm going to show you around Hogwarts."

Prof. McGonagall really did do her best to take my mind off of what happened to my dad, but every few seconds my mind drifted off to how he was holding up and if he was doing okay without us.

Somehow, mom got the call that Daddy was taken so she came to get me, but my 6 year old ears heard something that didn't make sense at the time.

"Why Ginny she looks nothing like you! She's a spitting image of Harry."

"McGonagall, I would prefer if you didn't bring up my husband at this sensitive time."

Hello! My name is Aria Potter, the youngest in the Potter family, and yet there’s some form of mystery surrounding my birth. At first glance my family seems normal, but we are a family of witches and wizards. My father and grandfather along with my mother went to the prestigious Hogwarts, but will it be standing by the time I come to age? Is my family really what they say they are?

Fifteen minutes after they'd defeated that first mecha-gorilla Henri and Walder found themselves facing off against three more of the metal monsters. 

Henri and Walder ducked into doorway while finding off the attacks from the metal monsters. Fortunately, for the two guildsmen the doorway was too narrow for mecha-gorillas to just charge through. 

Henri was able to use her explosive rounds and sharpshooting to force the creatures into a firefight with both sides keeping their distance. This resulted in a stalemate because the monsters, or who or whatever was controlling them, were appearently smart enough to stay in cover. Meaning Henri couldn't really get a good shot off. 

Walder ended the stalemate by pulling out a little crystal and steel cylinder, pressing both bases on the cylinder till it had been compressed into a disk and then throwing the disk into the mecha-gorilla side of the hallway. 

"You might want to hold on to something…." said Walder. 

Henri frowned, and then did as her husband suggested. When in a firefight, words like "duck, look out,  get into cover, or hold on," weren't to be treated lightly. You did as told unless there was a clear reason not to, and then asked questions later. 

Henri braced herself against the wall and activated the magnets in the soles of her boots just for good measure. One second she was wondering what exactly Walder had done now, then the very next second she was more than a little annoyed at the man. 

Getting your breath stolen away was less fun than movies and music made it sound. The device Walder had thrown imploded and when it did, it suck all the air out of that section of the powerstation, creating a vacuum so strong that an unaltered human might not have been able to withstand it. 

All Henri was able to hear was the roaring air rushing past her ears and the thrum of the blood in her veins momentarily losing its mind and desperately trying to escape her body. If the tunnels weren't built so solidly, they likely would have collapsed and if they weren't already clean, any dirt or detritus on the floor or ceilings would have been sucked away. 

She ended up being quite glad she'd activated the magnets on the heels of her boots, because for one terrifying second she felt the suctioning force pull her body towards it, making her slide backwards into the wall she'd been bracing herself against. 

Henri endured the strange force, relying on the sturdy walls to keep her body from being dragged towards whatever baleful thing her husband had created. 

She heard three mournful, mechanical cries, and instantly knew that the mech-gorillas had met their end. 


The danger wasn't over though, just as the suctioning forced had begun to lessen, there was an explosion, so loud and deafening and energetic that it brought concrete powder and metal fragments raining down over Henri and Walder's heads.

"F****! Just what the flying f*** was that?!" said an even paler than usual Henrika. 

Walder shrugged like a chastened child. 

"Er….It was nothing big….Just a small singularity grenade." 

Henrika heard the boy's words and his words created a thousand trains of thought within her head. All these thought immediately collided with one another, and Henri was thus struck dumb. 

Henri was left thoroughly incapable of speech, which was just as well, having been raised as the sheltered daughter of a clan, she didn't know that many expletives. 

She'd ended up dropping out of the heroes academy before the time for her long-term internship on a galactic battle vessel had come, and thus was never afforded the chance to properly learn how to cuss like a sailor.

(Internet chat boards and social media were a close second in learning how to swear properly but as everyone knows it takes being around actual sailors to get a proper education in swear words.)

When she finally regained her power of speech, Henri found that she didn't know what to say. Asking if the man knew that he'd nearly killed them both would be pedantic and unnecessary. Walder's chagrined expression already said he knew how much he'd screwed up. 

After an uneasy few minutes, where Henri hurried checked to see if the graviton levels had reached a point where the authorities managing Nabrok would notice, Henri decided to leave matters as they were. From the look on Walder's face, she very much doubted that he'd be using the black hole-based explosive devices again any time soon. At the very least he'd know better than to use them in close range. 

Though knowing him, that probably meant she could look forward to eventually seeing the man make some kind of singularity missiles or bullets, in the near future….Assuming he hadn't already made them. 

Henri was once again reminded that her eccentric husband was quite the scary individual, only a madman would make a handheld version of the kind of doomsday weapon the stellar governments used as deterrent measures. 

Miniature nuclear devices were illegal in two-thirds of the galaxy and for good reason. Miniaturizing a weapon of mass-destruction didn't make it safer, only an idiot or a mentally-unhinged person would think that. 

Walder cleared his throat, thankful for the darkness around them, and the dark hue of his skin, because otherwise the young woman beside him would be able to see just how furiously he was blushing. 

Since he was more scared of looking awkward and further embarrassing himself than he was of scared of anything that might be wandering around the powerstation, Walder immediately rushed back into the fray. 

Diving towards a tunnel in search of a nice distracting battle. 

He found what he was looking for no less than five minutes later. Running into an eighty mecha-spider that was large enough and fierce enough to withstand more then thirty blasts from the tesla cannon he was trying out….Granted all those blasts were fired with just three pulls of the trigger, but Walder still found it quite impressive. 

Henri on the other hand, watched slack faced, as the man ran pell-mell through the halls of the powerstation. Switching through various conventional and unconventional firearms. Including one rifle that reduced one of the mecha-gorilla to ash before the weapon itself also was reduced to ash. 

As he held the remains of the disintegrated firearm in his hands, a red-eared Walder would rub the back of his head while trying to explain….

"Well...er...time dilation cannons tend to be finicky things, and if the casing takes any damage whatsoever...well you know….'time' happens." 

"...." Henri didn't say anything, because she honestly didn't have anything to say. 

Standard disintegration rifles, that worked by interfering with the weak-interaction forces that held together subatomic particles, were known to have similar issues. Which was a big reason why most individuals and organizations tended to stay the hell away from them, even if they didn't ban them outright. 

The woman was just glad that the breakdown hadn't happened with that one cannon that shot out miniature suns. She had a strong feeling that they wouldn't have survived that particular toy's malfunction. 

If there was one thing that Henri knew, it was that at some point she and her husband would have to have a talk about the weapons he made. The first half would include an exhortation on the importance of safety and using equipment that won't accidentally kill you and your wife, one day...The second half would be a strong encouragement to spread the love and make some cool equipment for the aforementioned wife.

Things went a little smoother afterwards, with the two guildsmen working as a team and clearing out the mechanized denizens of the powerstation. 

They made it all the way to the stations core when suddenly Walder's felt a chill crawl from the back his neck to the base of his spine. In that moment his entire demeanor changed, fun and games were over. 

"I...uh...You know what? Let's maybe not go in…" said Walder. 

"Huh? Why not?" said a puzzled Henri. 

"It feels….dangerous all of a sudden." said Walder. 

Henri looked at the door that separated them from the power stations core, then she looked the man, her gaze drifting towards the storage device on his hip, a storage device filled with the bodies of countless monsters. 

"Grimwald….I don't know if you noticed it, but this is a dungeon world...Safety is  in short supply." said Henri. 

"I know...but there's danger and then there's 'danger'...and I'm thinking we should either come back later with a bigger group...or maybe you can just hold back and let me just get a peak at what's in there before we go in..." said Walder. 

Henri frowned, wondering what could make seemingly reckless and carefree Walder be suddenly reserved. Since neither of his suggestions was entirely unreasonable Henri decided to just go with it. 

"Alright, send in your drones and let's get a look at what lies past that door." said Henri. 

Walder nodded and sent a smoky nanobot whisper through the gap underneath the door. He frowned at the feed that was being played on his implant. 

According to the drones the room was empty, there was nothing there, and beyond Nabrok's baseline for anomalous energy there were no suggestions of anything preternatural. As far as the drones were concerned all that lay in the room was a set of massive generators, and monitoring equipment that all looked oddly rusty considering how clean and well-maintained everything else in the powerstation was. 

"...." Walder continued frowning. Despite things looking 'normal' the feeling between his shoulders hadn't gone away. 

Even at the height of his old universe's technological advancement there were still beings that could fool even the best technology of the dying galaxy's people. In the end it was found that the most reliably thing that could let a person know when something was off….was their instincts, and the senses of those who'd grown sensitive to certain supernatural phenomenons. 

"....It looks like the area's all clear." said Henri. Her expression unreadable as always, with her tone making it sound as if she might slowly have begun to catch the bad vibes that Walder was picking up. 

"....Yeah, suspiciously all clear….We haven't even found out where those machines were coming from." said Walder. 

Henri and Walder stood outside the door of the power stations core and experienced what it was like to be in a horror movie, aware that the situation wasn't quite right but unable to put their fingers on why. 

Walder had half a mind to cut the hunting trip short and have him and Henri pull out of the Nabrok. Henri, on the other hand, had already moved past the stage of wanting to leave and despite her misgiving she felt that they should at least enter the room and look around first before leaving. 

"Well,...look at it this way...this isn't a videogame or a b-movie, where helplessness is guaranteed and escape is impossible…. We're armed and if there really 'is' something there we can just bail." said Henri. 

Walder reluctantly agreed, though there definitely was something strange about there air around the station's core, so long as retreat remained an option there was no reason not to continue being as bold as they had been. 

Walder opened the door of the station and stepped inside, having determined in his own head if worse came to worst, he'd use all the means at his disposal to see that Henri got out okay.

 Henri followed Walder with a reciprocal determination, having never forgotten that the sole reason she'd come down to Nabrok with the man, was to make sure her husband's decision to become a hunter didn't result in her becoming a young widow.

Countless eons ago the universe was sick corrupted by a darkness that had snuffed out all its stars.

 Countless heroes and mighty legends were given the call to save the last living within the galaxy before the last star saw its end. 

In the end he was the only one who was able to answer the call...a boy who'd been original been meant to be a deliverer of its destruction. 

After he doing his best to throw off his dark destiny, he managed to give his galaxy and the universe beyond, a future that'd come at the cost of all he loved and cared for.

Fast-forward to the present, where he's somehow managed to find himself reborn with a second chance at life.

Nemesis, the capital of the Baroque Empire. 

A small wagon had entered the southern gate. 

Luke and Philip were the ones who were in the wagon with the crest of Rakan. 

"Lord, if you keep snooping around, they'll call you out for wrong reasons."

No matter what Philip had said, Luke couldn't take his eyes off the magnificent view of the capital from the wagon window. 

'This is at least 3 times bigger than it was 500 years ago', Luke thought.

Before turning into a warlock, Luke used to work at the Veritas Magic Tower that was located in Nemesis. 

So, the city wasn't an unfamiliar place for him. 

However, over the last 500 years, the owner of the country had changed and the place turned into an Empire. And there, other changes in Nemesis commenced. 

The first one was the rise of the tall buildings. 

As the population had increased, there were many three to four-story buildings which were very rarely used in the past. 

In the downtown, there were buildings with 10 floors too. 

And the other things, the city was divided into different localities. 

In the past it was simply divided into the city center, the place where the royal palace was located along with the nobles and the wealthy merchants and the outer center was the place of the common people. 

But in the current time, the outer center was clearly divided into the residential, commercial, and military districts. 

The Baroque Emperor was surely founded by a despicable emperor, but some of the past emperors were good to develop the army and the people over the 500 years. 

And those competent emperors introduced various policies and prepared measures for strengthening their capital, and capital maintenance were one of their work. 

By dividing the area in the right manner, the administration had developed much smoother and convenient, even if there was an enemy attack or rebellion, it was much easier to defend and respond proactively. 

'But in the end, the work needs to be done by humans, so there will be a gap.'

In case he was going to attack the capital in the later time, it wasn't a bad thing to look for the loopholes in the administration. 

"Is that the Gigant Arena?"

Asked Luke while pointing at the round arena that was to his far right.

Between the roads and the splendid mansions, there was a giant place, and as Philip had mentioned in the past, its size wasn't comparable to the Lamer's Gigant Arena. 

"It is the proud Royal Gigant Arena."

The Royal Gigant Arena was the place where the best of the best clans and the best riders from the empire got to show off their skills. 

Thousands of tourists from all over Rhodesia move to see the thrilling games in there. 

"Then that place?"

Asked Luke pointing over to another building that was on the other side. 

Unlike the circular arena, the building was rectangular. 

"That is the headquarters of the Knights of Guard. I graduated from the Royal Military Academy and then stayed there for a while."

The eyes of Philip were infused with anger and dullness. 

He had graduated from the Royal Military Academy with outstanding skills. 

He was ambitious to take the elite course and become a Hero-class rider, but they were all his hopes. 

Not only did he not have any access to the Gigants due to the envy and jealousy of the nobles, but he was made to leave the knights after being cast out. 

'Would they all be doing well, right now?' thought by Philip himself. 

Three people had trapped and framed him. 

If the opportunity was presented to him, Philip vowed to take revenge. 

"But, I am not able to see the Veritas Magic Tower. I heard that it was in the capital."

Asked by Luke when the magic tower wasn't visible even after passing the old location where the tower was there. 

"Veritas had been moved to the north suburbs of Nemesis. As the magic tower and the buildings related to it continued to grow, it couldn't be continued in the capital center."

Not as fast and wide as the Baroque Empire, but the Veritas Magic Tower continued to grow. 

In the Holy Arthenia Empire, there were hundreds of wizards and trainees along with magic towers that had grown into the best ones of the continent, there were more assistants, more workshops, warehouses, and research facilities. 

As the number of facilities in the Magic Tower increased, around 300 years ago, a large site was built in the north suburbs of Nemesis and relocated there. 

"Those streets of that place are completely filled with wizards and merchants who deal with magic materials on the north side. It was so filled that it had been turned into a zone of wizards, and was called as Veritas Town."

"That so."

While Luke and Philip talked about it, the wagon had passed a gate of checking and began to move on a road with luxuriously paved stones.

Unlike the outer region, the sides of the road had antique houses. 

The people were relatively quiet and had very few people, however, at times there were gorgeous ladies in noble clothes moving in carriages or wagons which went passed them.

Across the streets of the center, administrative buildings began to appear. 

There was also a parliament building where the nobles from various departments such as military, foreign affairs, and internal affairs met. 

After passing through several buildings, after tens of meters away, it had come out at last. 

The Imperial Palace, the heart of the Baroque Empire.

Shaymon, the man who has achieved the apex of dark magic, is framed as being a Demon King and is killed.

'I will not let it end like this!'

He finally achieves new life but reality was cruel. Being born after 500 years, he was born as the descendent of his rival, the Sword Emperor!

"Alrigh', men!  W'eh drew th'eh line in th'eh sand.  'eh shaved m'eh brown hole for th'eer lips when th'eh bend over 'en kiss 'eer arses!"

Krem bellowed out to all the men that were manning the mechanical defenses for the massive walls of the fortress.  The men roared out in agreement, their gauntlets, used to control the equipment, slammed together with a loud bang that shook caused the ground to quake as if in fear.

The men bolted straight to their positions on the massive crossbows.  The lost technology of the fortress allowed for large, steel bolts to be fired from a belt with no pauses for reloading.  It was one of many great wonders that allowed for the fortress to stand for millennia.  Krem and the Rustbeards have been in charge of the wall defenses since the family began.  Their bio-metrics were the only way to feed the ammunition into the weapons and allow for the weapons to be fired.

One of the reasons, other than their blacksmithing prowess, that allowed for them to stay at the top of all other families in terms of influence.  

Krem pressed his hand against a bio-metric plate.  After a moment of scanning, an chime sound rang out to signal the verification was successful.  The steel walls that were before the weapons shifted, allowing for a slit large enough to allow for multi-directional firing down at their enemies.

The support crews pulled levers that moved the weapons into place.

"SHOW.  NO.  MERC'EH."

Krem growled out the last of his orders as he awaited for the other crews to get into place.

Krum was laying in the middle of the smelting room floor.  Sweat completely drenched his clothes as he spent 12 hours straight forging all the materials Cents asked him to the specifications he asked.  He also made a large batch of modified black powder that Cents asked for.  He managed to make a few bags with the materials on hand, but not much.

Using the molds that Cents had fabricated, he made thousands of small cone-like objects made of lead.  Additionally, he made cases made of copper also to the the specifications given.  Krum wasn't sure what Cents was up to, but according to what he hinted to...they would have the ability to fight a small army.   

At least for awhile, that is.

"Great, kiddo!  You did great!  You managed to make nearly 500 rounds of .45 ammunition.  We just need to load them with the powder you made and we'll be well on our way to making you much harder to kill.  Hand me the things I asked from you to forge and give me a couple minutes."

Krum handed the parts to a spot in Cents' body that opened up.  A long cylinder and several rectangular blocks of steel were placed inside, along with a couple blocks of wood and various soft metals.

Cents began to glow brightly, sounds of cutting are heard for several minutes then the glow died down.  Behind Cents, smoke fired out, seemingly the remnants of the work.

"Okay, kiddo.  Grab the parts and assemble them like in the diagram I made for you earlier."

Krum grew excited as he pulled the machined parts from Cents and went to work putting them together as Cents gathered all the casings, lead, and powder to start pressing and creating ammunition.

After several minutes, it finally became apparent what the two had made.  It looked to be a classic, Thompson machine gun.  Cents not only combined the materials to make the ammunition, but also created drums to store them in and load into the machine gun.  The entire process took 30 minutes.

Finally, Cents finished with his side. He asked the young Dwarf to load the last of his requested metals and other materials, such as manure, wax, urine, and assorted oils.

Another hour rolled by, Cents finally finished what he was working on.  Krum looked at what he created, curiously.

"Uh...that's really interesting! ...what is that?"

Krum pointed to the board-looking things with multiple wires and glass tubes. 

"That is a motherboard with very basic processor system.  This is going to be the guidance system for the body I had you make.  Luckily you brought me plenty of manure, from that I was able to make enough solid rocket fuel for 3 missiles.  That plate over there is a shape charge with a modified copper plate.  It will be capable of air burst and is designed for max killing potential against infantry."

Krum paled a bit.

"You talk about death so easily...will these weapons really be that powerful?"

Cents laughed.

"Sorry, kiddo.  Sometimes I forget you're a bit on the unseasoned side of things.  I've been around for a very long time and have seen much.  Also, being a synthetic life form, though I do have emotions...they're a bit controlled compared to organic life forms for the most part."

Krum nodded, understanding.

"I get it. I'll toughen up.  I know that my life is possibly in danger and these weapons are going to help me and my family survive.  They started the fight, so no use showing them bastards mercy."

Krum looked determined, quickly pulling up the materials that made up the missiles.  Cents went on to explain they didn't have enough time to build a very accurate launcher, so the one they did built will have to deliver it close enough for the rudimentary guidance system to do the rest.

After all their preparations were done, Krum stored everything near the entrance closest to the invading army.  The Thompson he carried on himself and waited to see what would happen with the war effort.  Hopefully Cents was wrong and everything they prepared would be unnecessary.

As he moved towards where his father was, he noticed two familiar faces. 

Orwen and Orfen.

They were making their way to the main gate area.  The two guards posted at the gate stopped them.

"Orwen.  What 'er y'ew doing 'eer?  Should y'uh not be--"

The man was interrupted by Orwen running a dagger into his throat.  Blood splashed out in all directions as his carotid was severed in front of the other guard.  Orwen looked on, indifferently.

The second guard reached for his hammer, but screamed out in pain.  Orfen had snuck on him during the first stabbing and he ran a blade into the guard's back.  His father immediately charged forward and run his blade into the second guard's heart.  Orfen looked to be enjoying himself, playing with the blood on the blade.

Krum immediately took cover, his heart racing.

"What is going on!?  What are those bastards doing!?  Those two are from their family!"

Krum felt his food coming up, witnessing the gore and processing the deaths of two men he knew and even drank with before.

"I knew it.  With the fortress standing for as long as it has, the church would have had plans in place to being able to get through with minimal resistance.  Those two are perfect candidates for espionage.  They were probably promised a position of power. "

Krum became angry, poking his head out.

He gasped, both of them were going for the biometric scanners for the massive gate that was the only thing standing between the enemy military and his family.

The familiar chime rang out, the gate making mechanical noises behind the scenes.  Slowly, the teeth from the gate that was deeply in the steel floor lifted up slowly.

"SHIT. SHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT. I HAVE TO TELL FATHER!!"

Krum fired off towards the rear wall armaments entrance that his father was head of, his steel toed boots loudly clanking in the massive hall that housed the gate entrance.

Orgen and Orfen both paled, realizing someone caught them.

"QUICK!  GET HIM BEFORE HE ALERTS THE OTHERS!!"

Orgen growled out.  Orfen immediately drew his dagger and ran towards Krum.  Krum turned to see the incoming Orfen.  Carrying the gun and ammo slowed Krum down considerably compared to the lighter Orfen.

"Kiddo!  The gun!  Point the stick side at the bastard and pull back that tiny lever!"

Orfen, panicking pulled the weapon out.  Orfen made a face, not knowing what it was, but was already committed to lunging at Krum.

Krum fumbled, looking for the trigger.  As Orfen made it within stabbing distance of Krum, he managed to find the mini-lever.

A loud series of explosions range out as the Thompson unloaded into the shocked Orfen.  His body and armor were torn to shreds within moments as Orgen watched on in horror.

Krum quickly let go of the trigger...but those few moments did more than enough.  Orfen's corpse fell to the ground.  His blood poured out onto the floor in large amounts.  The details Krum didn't notice until the explosions stopped appeared before his eyes.  Blood covered the ceiling and walls as the rounds had tore through the body.  Large holes were seen in the walls behind the fallen Dwarf.

What power!

Krum shook a little, fear eating at his heart finally understanding the power Cents had offered him through his knowledge.  Cents said this was primitive technology!?

"KIDDO!  Don't stop!  The door is almost open!"

Krum came to his senses and turned, sprinting out of the large hall.  He could make it to his father in 10 minutes at this speed.  He prayed he would make it in time for them to escape!

"Krem!  Th'eer be an emergenc'eh!"

Flem called out, urgently as he entered the wall defenses, heading towards Krem.

"Flem!?  Wh'eh 'en th'eh hell 'us go'un on?!  Wh'eh aren't y'uh with th'eh main arm'eh??"

Krem looked surprised that Flem would be clear across the fortress.

"Shouldn't y'eh be at th'eh gate with th'eh lads for th'eh first offens--"

Flem interrupted.

"THEY'VE BREACHED TH'EH WALLS!  Some woon opened th'eh damn gate!"

Krem grew livid.

"THOSE BASTARDS!  The Pitchbacks have betrayed us!!"

Krem quickly made his way towards the door, about to pass Flem.

"...noot jus them 'ol fren."

Krem stopped suddenly, shock in his eyes.  Looking down, he was a blade protruding from his gut.  Flem was holding the handle, grinning towards Krem.

"Y'eh damn fool.  Y'know it takes two families to open th'eh door.  'eh gave Orfen m'eh life line access."

Krem had a pained expression on his face.

"Why?  Why would y'eh do th'us?  Wh--"

Flem kicked out, pushing Krem off his blade.

"M'ah family w'oos alw'ehs 'en th'eh shadoow of y'eh Rustbeards.  We'h always tried to work our way up, but th'eh ancestor's machines always chose y'er family.  ALWAYS.  M'eh father died from overworking himself, trying to leave 'eh greater legacy than th'eh garbage 'yer family left to us 'es cr'oombs.  Now it 'es OUR time to shine!"

Krem looked down at the bloody wound.  He knew he didn't have long to live.  He only wished he could have told his son and grandson he loved them.  Had one last drink with them.

Unfortunately, the only thing he could do now was to ensure they had a future.

Reaching for his breast pocket, he pulled out what looked to be a pocket watch.  He clicked the top button, protruding out 3 times.

"EMERGENCY MEASURES HAVE BEEN INITIATED.  ALL BIOMETRIC ACCESS POINTS WILL BE DISABLED AND ALL FORTRESS FUNCTIONS DISABLED.  I REPEAT EMERGENCY MEASURES..."

A woman's voice was heard all through the fortress.  Flem paled, not knowing what was going on...but knew it was tied to the device Krem had in hand.

He quickly pulled it out of the shaking hands of Krem, who grinned.  Flem pressed the button repeatedly, only to be greeted with:

"YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THESE FUNCTIONS.  PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR FOR ACCESS RIGHTS.  THANK YOU."

Flem, in a panic grabbed Krem by his collar, pulling him up.

"Y'EH BLOODY BASTARD!!!  WHA DID Y'EH DO!?  WHA DID Y'EH DOOOOO!?"  He screamed out at Krem.

"Y'eh goat humper.  'eh turned off everything 'en th'eh fortress.  Only m'eh bloodline can get the fortress running ag'un.  Screw yer mother 'fer making a traitorous bastard like y'eh! HA HA!"

Krem laughed out several times before finally closing his eyes and slumping in the hands of Flem Goldtooth.  

Goldtooth screamed out in anger.  His ambitions never to be realized, other than destroying Grandrust and gaining nothing.

"The supreme ruler of the night and stars? What a great ambition!" Lu Zhiyu laughed.
As he snapped his fingers, a black chess piece that was emitting a fluorescent glow rotated and then fell down, landing on the Sumerian Kingdom on the map of Maria's World. On the chess piece, there was an image of someone dressed in a black robe, like a wizard's. He was holding a candle, and the faint candlelight seemed to illuminate the whole night.
"It seems that he wants to be the god of night, and its corresponding authority is controlling the length of the night, temperature changes, human sleep time, and even human dreams. This god can make a series of corresponding rules, and there is great potential for authority expansion," Lu Zhiyu observed.
As he put hands together under his chin, his two forefingers moved constantly. He was clearly in deep thought. At last, he raised his eyebrows and nodded. "Well, I'll let him see if he can handle it!"
As the chess piece fell, the whole Alen Continent on the map changed instantly. The mountain ranges and the shadows of small cities could now be seen clearly on the map. Even the clouds on the map kept changing their forms.
The whole world map was like a giant chessboard, and eleven chess pieces that were shining like stars above the board had not fallen down yet!

The news about the Church of the Dark Night immediately spread from the central province across the whole Alen Continent. This religion emerged overnight, which instantly stirred up The Church of Light, as well as the wizards and the orcs. All of them immediately devoted all of their attentions to the Sumerian Kingdom.
The Church of Light, the Faith of the Sun, the wizard tower, Colossus College, the mercenary union and various organizations of extraordinary power entered the Sumerian Kingdom to investigate this religion. They were particularly fascinated by it, as it had emerged suddenly and developed so fast.
The dense Black Forest, stretching from the coastline to the skyline, was blocked by towering mountains. Within the forest, a large number of magical beasts and powerful monsters existed, making this area a forbidden place for human beings.
However, the Kingdom of Rosa d'Oro had built some cities and great fortresses in some important import and export harbors nearby. On the one hand, they did this to protect humans from magical beasts and monsters that escaped the Black Forest. On the other hand, they did this because of the abundant resources that were available in the forest.
Specifically, rare medicinal materials and minerals had attracted a large number of mercenaries and merchants to come here. Countless people here had even built special adventurer towns on the edge of the Black Forest, which naturally promoted trade. People here saw a huge increase in their wealth and interests, but sadly, the killing never stopped.
Also, there was always a mist in the Black Forest, making it dark and humid all the time. In the depth of the forest, on a black mountain that was surrounded by a large number of devil camphor trees, stood a tall tower, which was the holy place of all of the wizards, the wizard tower!

As such, even the extraordinary wizards could not break through the magic boundaries that had been formed by these devil camphor trees. This was because any movement outside would be noticed by the wizards inside. Then, groups of tower wizards would immediately come to kill the intruders!
Dozens of towers had been built as a safeguard, protecting the wizard tower. Many wizards and wizard servants were shuttling along the roads.
There were also all kinds of magical beasts that were tied in chains or being ridden by wizards. Letter ravens were also busy going about their work in the sky.

This was indeed a proper wizard city, and the wizard tower was the most striking and prominent institute, one which had already nurtured generations of wizards throughout hundreds of years. Countless wizards had graduated from here, then gone on to create their own legends, bringing changes to the whole continent.
All of the wizards regarded the wizard tower as a holy place. Its style was like the architecture of the mythological era, solemn and grand. Any wizard who looked at it couldn't help but feel a sense of awe.
Generations of wizards came here at all costs in order to study. In fact, every single wizard dreamed of getting in, and those who graduated from here were still proud of it, even years after the fact.
"What is the Church of the Dark Night? It's just another Church of True God!" In the top floor of the wizard tower, some wizards were discussing the Church of the Dark Night in a huge conference room.
There were a large number of seats on both sides of the room. When major events took place, wizards gathered here to express their thoughts, and a main speaker would stand in the center to give speeches and offer opinions.
"The Sumerian Kingdom was under the control of the Church of True God, yet we didn't know that until just now!"
"The tower has been too isolated from the outside world! Moreover, the Church of True God is hiding, and even the Church of Light has not found out about this!"
All of the wizards were offering different opinions. The Church of True God, which had been in hiding, had suddenly appeared. Although they had re-emerged under the new name of the Church of the Dark Night, the wizards had still found out this secret.
One of the wizards looked serious and asked the speaker, "How could Heckfoss not have died?"
"Well, it's apparently true. According to the information we've got, he's still alive!" the speaker replied, still not really answering the question.
"The abilities of these demon warlocks are so weird! I can't understand them!" another wizard exclaimed.
Everyone looked towards Edward as he stood up and said, "I think that what we should really be concerned about is what they want to do, and whether that will be harmful or beneficial to us? Moreover, whether it has anything to do with us at all!"
"What should we do if it is both harmful and beneficial?" someone in the back asked.
Edward had been the master of the tower for more than a hundred years. Now, he was more mature than he used to be. His prestige among wizards was even greater than his foster father and mentor, Bohr Kelermo's had ever been.
There were a lot of debates going on at the conference. Some high-level wizards, who had experienced what happened in the mainland of the Yala Continent, analyzed what this so-called Church of the Dark Night was going to do. They then voted to take action against the Sumerian Kingdom.
In addition to the wizard tower, various extraordinary forces also decided to take action quickly. But, before they could actually take any measures against the Church of True God and the Sumerian Kingdom, news came from the Sumerian Kingdom that Heckfoss had held a ceremony to ignite the divine fire.
