This story is told through very informal letters written by Ena Tomes who just barely scrapped by the last seven years of her schooling so her letters aren't quite up to formal format.

Eventually, I want to go from letter to novel format once the story reaches a very critical point in its plot.

Amy's eyes narrowed as stared deeply at Ken, "Evan or Glen?" she asked.  
Ken shrugged, "does it matter?" he rudely asked back. 
She shook her head in response, "no, please continue."  
"she's so clingy, and her scent is so disgusting and then she had this friend who asked her to try drugs and she drinks as if she's not a woman and then last week," he let out a laugh full of amusement, "she threw a vase to my friend's ex and I saw that she got hurt," as he said that, his eyes were confusedly staring at his hands, "so I took the medicine kit I have in my car and gave it to her."  
Amy blinked, her lips were parted in confusion but it was nothing compared to Ken.  
Seeing how lost he was, how much he struggled to keep the pieces of the puzzles together, Amy could not help but smile.  
But she can't be frank to Ken, she needed to guide him and help him to get the answers to his confusion.  
"Helping someone is normal Ken."  
"No, not to me," he answered and met her eyes.  
She nodded, "can you describe 
your friend's girlfriend?"  
Ken gave her a half shrug, he leaned back on the couch while his sight shifted at the colorful abstract painting on the wall.  
"She's small, she cant barely reach my shoulder," he paused and smiled absently, "despite her height, she knocked me out, but before that, she said something to me…"  
"What did she say?"  
"That I am shattered like her."  
Amy held onto the armchair while her breathing stopped for a moment. Curiosity arose in her mind, as this was the first time Ken has ever mentioned a woman in their session.  
"Describe her face, Ken."  
Without removing his eyes at the painting, Ken said, "she smelled like vanilla and it's so disgusting."  
"Her face Ken."  
"She's so clingy."  
Amy sighed, Ken hated to repeat himself yet he just spoke the same words earlier, "her face Ken, how does she look like?"  
He blinked, "she's ugly and my friend's girlfriend."  
Amy smiled, "what about your friend's ex?"  
Ken shrugged both shoulders, "I don't know. I didn't look at her."

At the Su Villa…  
Two busses stopped in front of the Su villa while the maids and guards were lined up with their luggage on the ground.  
Daniella in her tracksuit stood in front of them while Scott and Robert were handing an envelope to the employees.  
The sun brightening in the sky illuminated to Daniella's white hair.  
She had her hair tied up neatly while a whistle was hanging in her neck.  
She put the whistle in between her lips and blew it.  
"Listen, everyone. This bus will bring you to the airport where a jet is waiting. Enjoy your one month vacation."  
Everyone cheered, with the passport in their hands they all clapped happily.  
Daniella decided to give them a month of vacation while Selena will help her clean the house and prepare the food.  
She cheered inside, she decided to let Camille stay per Selena's request.  
"Your bonus is in the envelope if you encounter a problem, don't call me. Alright?"  
After that, everyone entered the bus and soon left the villa.  
Meanwhile, Scott and Robert waited for Daniella's instruction after giving out the envelope.  
"What about our bonus Daniella?" Robert asked.  
Crossing both arms over her stomach, Daniella rose a brow, "do I look like a bank to you? Ask Evan."  
"Why should we ask him? He's not our boss!" Scott answered.  
"He's my boyfriend and he owns a bank," she barked and turned her back at them and walked  to the villa with hands on her side.  
As she entered, her sight caught Camille leisurely sitting on the couch sipping her tea.  
"Would you like some more tea?" Daniella offered, pasting a kind smile on her lips.  
Camille shook her head and faked a smile, she has been staying here for a week and Daniella has done nothing but to show her fake kindness.  
"Oh please! You're our guest. You know what they said, you must treat your guest like a king, well, in your case, a queen" then she winked at Camille and rushed to the kitchen.  
Sweat formed on Camille's forehead in big pieces while her hands holding the teacup shook tensely.  
In the kitchen, Daniella made the tea as fast as she could. When she emerged from the kitchen, Camille was no longer in the living room.  
"Aish! Seriously! This woman, I was really genuine when I offered the tea," saying that, she took the cup and drank the tea in one gulp, "it's really good."  
As she put the cup back to the kitchen, she saw Scott walking by.  
The man handed her a letter he got from the mailbox, "it's a request from the V Magazine to use the villa for Camille's photoshoot."  
Daniella opened the letter and scanned it.  
"Congratulation on your engagement Mr. Evan Su. We wish to cover you and Ms. Camille Male-Lee for our next month's release."  
Danielle didn't read the whole letter, her nose wrinkled as she crumbled the paper in her hands.  
"I thought Scarlet is going to be the cover for next month Scott, what happened?" she said in a suppressing tone.  
Scott cleared his throat, the anger in Daniella's face was making him nervous.  
"I am not sure, Camille and Scarlet's manager are different so I don't think Ray Sotto is happy about this either."  
Daniella threw the letter in the garbage and leaned her back on the edge of the dining table, "call Ray and set up a meeting, Scarlet is going to be the cover of the V magazine next month."  
Scott nodded and was about to leave when Daniella called him out.  
"Gather some information about Aaron Wesley, where he came from, family, friends."  
"who is he?" Scott asked in confusion.  
Daniella blinked it's been a week since she met him and since then his name has been stuck in her mind.  
She shook her head, "never mind, forget it."  
"Are you ok?"   
Daniella nodded, "now go before I chop your tongue for asking too much question!"  
Scott's face screwed, "aish! Seriously, Daniella, you're too impatient. Are you pregnant?" saying that he looked down at the bump in her stomach.  
"That's food, you stupid!" she yelled and threw the envelope she crumpled in her hand.

Davis waved his hands and the wind silently shook the dust off the decorations, gently hanging on to the structure. Such a move didn't even take a fraction of his essence energy away from him.
The others also did the same as they whooshed the dust away with a wave of their hands.
The residence instantly became clean but was still not polished. The surface of the outer courtyard had all its dust gather over to a corner. Nevertheless, they were content with this residence.

The letter was very short, only conveying her feelings of gratitude and reverence. The last line spoke as if she viewed herself as his servant.
To that, Davis didn't know what to say as he became flabbergasted.
He did indeed order her around but there was no need to call herself his servant, right?
As for her taking advantage of him...
'What was that about?' Davis pondered and then it dawned on him, 'Her request to purchase formations with my help?'
By his side, Evelynn also read the letter and asked with a glint in her eyes, "Are you going to Pavlos City?"
She already knew who Natalya was and heard about her, so she wasn't bothered much. She didn't know where the city neither did she bother to ask. She only wanted to know if her husband would go and meet that woman.
Davis shook his head, "We're being pursued. I don't think I have the luxury to go to Pavlos City, neither do we have the time to meet her and chat."
"It's better if I let her live peacefully, lest I bring danger to her just by visiting."
Evelynn nodded her head in agreement.

Sol made the exam and finished it half of the time, the instructor provided. The Bella Vista was quite enormous, ceilings are quite high and she was feeling unusual. 
She was waiting for her to be dismissed when she smell something familiar. Like someone was at the back of her. The instructor was still scanning the paper. The room is big, and she was alone taking the exam.

Sol felt something is wrong by the way he smile and the way he looks at her, but she reach her point when the man mentioned her Mother's name. She removes her hand and gave a force smile.  

His hands are quite soft from a Music teacher. He looks old and thin and wears old fashioned extender.  Sol really disgust his smile and she was thinking she might have a dream about this later, when she came out a girl was waiting outside, and was called out by Mr. Harold. 

The girl was pretty with a little pink ribbon on her head, she move swiftly and with elegance. A little smile curves to her lips as she heard her name being called out. "Miss Theo please come in!"

Sol headed outside until she heard someone singing, the voice came from a boy holding  pink roses, the boy turns around and look at her. 
"You want some of this? I'll give you half the price!" He said with a big smile. He was wearing the casual Bella Vista uniform. 
"uhm no thanks, I'm all good." She said.
" So you came here because of my voice, don't you?" He smile a little and walks toward her. 
He handed one single rose to her. 
Sol was kinda confused, and stuck with his blue eyes. The prettiest she ever saw. She also didn't notice that she have the rose already on her hand. 

"So what do you think about the exam?"

It happens real fast, when she opened that locker she knew there was no turning back. Human Bones were scattered and reveals an untold stories of her past.

When Lu Zhou met Principal Wu again, he promised him that he would include Yuhua University as a cooperative research unit of the STAR Stellarator Research Project. As expected, the principal readily agreed. 
Even though the H1-Heliac was the prominent scientific research project for Yuhua University, but in fact, other than being able to call themselves the first stellarator in China, the H1-Heliac didn't bring any extra benefits to Yuhua University.
It didn't matter what the insiders thought. From the outsiders' perspective, the concept of controllable nuclear fusion was too far away. Because of this, Yuhua University wasn't able to give Professor Li Changxia a large amount of resource support. It'd be better for them to join the STAR stellarator project as experts from Yuhua University. With the one billion dollar research fund, they might be able to help produce some outstanding results.
When the time arrived, since they were a cooperative research unit, they undoubtedly would get some of the credit.
After the matter at Yuhua University was sorted, Lu Zhou didn't stay in Hunan for long. He returned to Jinling the next day and began preparing the team for their Max Planck Institute exchange.
There were five formal researchers, including Li Changxia, and ten associate researchers. With these people plus the few controllable nuclear fusion professors that Academician Pan was able to find, the STAR Stellarator Research Institute finally formed a capable exchange team.
However, something unexpected happened.
Originally, Lu Zhou thought he didn't have to rely on Academician Zhou's Chinese ITER project team for help. They were still able to get their hands on an expert that came from the Science Island in Lu Yang.
However, that expert had resigned…
Lu Zhou met with this stellarator expert from Lu Yang in his Jinling Institute for Advanced Study office.
"Professor Sheng, it's an honor to meet you," Lu Zhou said. He stood up from his chair and walked over. With a smile, he reached out his right hand.
"I'm the one that is honored," Sheng Xianfu said as he shook Lu Zhou's hand and smiled. He said, "Not to mention, I'm technically not a professor anymore."
He didn't only quit his position at the Institute of Materials. Because he had to work long term in Jinling, and after considering various factors, he resigned from his professor position at the University of Science and Technology of China as well.
Lu Zhou: "If you don't mind, the Institute for Advanced Study is willing to provide you with a researcher position."
Sheng Xianfu didn't decline. He nodded and said, "Thank you so much."
Lu Zhou: "I noticed in your resume that you have been to the Wendelstein 7-X laboratory for an exchange?"
Sheng Xianfu nodded and answered truthfully, "The Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Materials organized a collaborative research project with the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics on plasma interaction experiments. I've also been to some of the ITER cooperation meetings."
Lu Zhou smiled and said, "So I'm guessing you're familiar with the Max Planck Institute?"
Sheng Xianfu smiled as he replied humbly, "Not quite familiar, I've only been there."
Lu Zhou nodded and said, "Okay, since that's the case, you will be the team leader for this exchange."
The proposal caught Sheng Xianfu by surprise, and he froze for a second.
He didn't expect to immediately take on such an important responsibility.
Sheng Xianfu hesitated for a moment before he said, "That… isn't appropriate. I just got here, and I'm not familiar with the situation at the exchange team. Also, aren't you coming with us?"
"Nothing inappropriate; the other people in the exchange team also just got here," Lu Zhou said. He then paused for a second before he added, "As for me, I might not stay in Greifswald with you guys for the entire exchange as I still have some other matters to attend to."
When Lu Zhou saw Professor Sheng's name on the list that Academician Pan gave him, he had a good impression of Professor Sheng.
He was one of the top plasma physics experts in China and had some involvement in both tokamak and stellarator research. He also had experience leading exchange teams.
Lu Zhou paused for a second and put on a more serious face. He then looked at Sheng Xianfu and said sternly, "This matter is very important, so I hope you can take it seriously. Of course, if you refuse, I won't force you. It's just that in my opinion, you're the most suitable candidate."
Sheng Xianfu clenched his teeth and nodded. "I can try!"
Lu Zhou nodded with approval and said, "Then this matter will be handed to you."
Sheng Xianfu asked, "When is the specific departure time?"
Lu Zhou answered calmly, "End of February."
End of February?
This means there are only three days to prepare.
Sheng Xianfu thought about the imminent departure date and couldn't help but feel the pressure on his shoulders.
However, even then, he didn't have any complaints in his heart. Rather, he was looking forward to it.
Perhaps, Sheng Xianfu could really help progress the controllable nuclear fusion field…

In the county of Manno, far northwest of Seorabeol, away from the buzzing merchants and irate shoppers, where the breeze was sweeter, and the grasses were taller and faster, two yellow group nangdos journeyed to a noble man's house for a special mission (coming from the King). Guarded by the foot of the mountain fairies and surrounding thick brick walls, a tiled-roof hanok bungalow of classic Silla design stood low in the middle of a garden filled with magnolias, daisies, and red or lilac dwarf shrubs—with fragrances bringing up the delight of an afternoon nap and a mother's lullaby.

Three purple nangdos on the tall, wooden arc gate. The yellow nangdos bowed. "We have a letter for the royal matron. This is from the King. Is she inside?"

"Yes, she is. We'll check on her."

One of the purple guards went in. He walked down the bermuda grass carpet, passing down five other colleagues standing like tall trees amongst the undergrowth. As he reached the base of the porch, he called. "My Lady, some palace hwarangs are outside. They said they have a letter for you from the King."

The mahogany door growled open and revealed an elderly royal matron. Her gray-dominant hair tucked in a jade hairpin. Indigo robe and aquamarine skirt gleaming brightly under the past-noon sun. She smiled, lines of age spreading elegantly on her round face. "Yes? A letter from the King you say."

"Yes, my lady."

"Why, yes. I will see them."

She tucked her slippers in and reached the gate. "Oh. It's been a while since I've seen a vibrant yellow color. Would you like to go inside for some drinks? Your journey must have been exhausting."

"We respectfully refuse, ma'am. We need to go back shortly. Thank you for your offer."

"As you say."

They gave the letter, wrapped in a red scroll with pink ribbons. The matron dropped her head in a low bow. "Thank you. Well, have a safe trip," the matron wished.

After the nangdos left, the curious lady scampered back to the house and sat on the floor, her arms leaning on a low-to-the-floor table. She opened the letter and read its short yet exhilarating message. Her face brightened as she almost jumped in joy. Right away, she hurried to a closed room and called, "Young Lord, are you awake?" her bright, orotund voice shrilling.

She heard stifle sounds of boots coming in. The door slid open, and there he was—the true owner of the house, a young boy in green, silky robe, standing as tall as the matron's chest (at maximum), his black shiny hair leveled highly in a topknot. A book on his right hand. Pale, round face and turbid, hazel eyes gazing flat at her.

"Yes, Lady Seo?" his undertone voice trying to soften more.

She crouched and waved the letter, lips curving upward in a big smile, "Young Lord, good news! It is a letter from the King. He asks you to go back to the palace and report to his chambers. This is it!"

"I don't see what's good about it." He turned around and tried to shut the door, but his servant held his cold, little hand.

"Lord Jung Min, you can come back to the palace."

"What for?"

"So that you could live your life the way it was before. Play, read books, make new memories like any other kid. Most especially, spend time with your family—your father and your new sister."

Jung Min dunked and shook his head. "That would never happen. My father doesn't want me. He blames me for all his misfortunes in life, including my mother's death. I don't even know what she looked like. Do you?"

"I'm sorry, young lord… but please, don't say those words again. It's not true. Perhaps your father didn't mean it. He loves you. Remember that."

"I have learned to accept that bitter truth when he had me banished when I was seven. This is my home."

"But, Young Master. Give it a chance, please," she purred. "Consider this as the King's humble request to you. Knowing that he wrote this letter to you means that you are important to him. Please don't break the King's heart."

The kid bit his lips, pearls of tears shaking from the corners of his puppy eyes. He wrapped his arms around the matron's neck as he bellowed raspy sobs. "I don't wish to break anyone's heart. I don't wish to break the King's heart! Please don't be mad at me." He ran out of breaths, wheezing, and wailing like a lost fawn in the jungle.

Seo patted his back and cooed, "Oh, young lord. I would never be mad at you. I am sorry. Please don't cry."

The magical power and warmth of a mother figure's embrace pacified the disheartened boy. After a few more strokes, Jung Min snorted and rubbed his eyes, redder than the blood moon. Seo clasped her fingers and smiled, her eyes fuzzy with suppressed tears. "Smile for me, will you?" She cupped his red cheeks. "I miss your cheerful face and your squeals every time you wanted to show me something interesting. Do you remember that earthworm you brought to me while I was cooking for your lunch? I screamed, but you said you wanted to count the stripes on its body."

Jung Min chortled. A small portal into his happy world. "You are a special kid, young lord. I have seen your talents, your wit, and your strengths as a child. You are a brave one. But above all, I am the living witness of your good heart. I will always be here for you, and I will never stop believing in you."

She placed her right palm in Jung Min's chest; the defibrillator to his dying heart. The one that has always charged him with positive outlooks in life. A mother's touch—his only one. With a bright smile on her face, Lady Seo asked Jung Min, "Shall we get ready, Young Lord?"

The young boy chewed his teeth and raised his head. A nod and a flashy white beam.

Back in the palace, as the Prime Minister sauntered down the palace grounds, he paused and raised his right arm. An alert sign for everyone (if you were sleepy, might as well do it forever). He looked behind his matron with steel eyes, and Lady Min scurried. She bowed, "Yes, Your Excellency?"

The Prime Minister wiggled his index finger, signaling Lady Min to come closer. The elderly matron leaned her cheek closer to the Prime Minister's face.

"I will go to the prison.," he whispered.

Min's heart hopped once and almost never returned. "My Lord?" She pulled away, eyes goggling before the Prime Minister whose brows were raised and lips pressed. She gasped, realizing she had used a dulllllllll wire inside her skull. "Right away, Your Excellency!" Her head bobbed like an automated cat scooping for money in the air, as she returned beside other court ladies.

Jung Ho went outside the palace and rode his small, crimson palanquin. With just a few servants and two hwarangdos, his destination: the great evergreen forest, a few miles away from the capital. At first, traveling down the woods was revitalizing. The vibrant colors of the towering living skyscrapers spellbound everyone passing through. Resonant orchestra of the chirping birds perked the tired souls of the servants carrying the palanquin. However, as they moved to the deeper portions of the jungle, unknown to most people, its hidden colors were brutally revealed. Century-old trees with bulging roots over-arched the ground, as lichens and dead foliage had enveloped their gray moribund trunks. The tangled, gnarling thorny vines from one oak-brown tree to another blocked the supernal gleam of light coming from the high sun. A miasmatic hood of putrescent organic matters overthrew the once sweet scents of the spring asters and the chilling mints of eucalyptuses. As visitors of the unwelcoming dimension, all they could do was to save their noses and mouths from awful punishments of the tricky nature.

"Halt!" a hwarangdo ordered, and the servants dropped the palanquin on the floor gently.

The Prime Minister stepped out and walked shortly through tall, withering shrubs, passed through a couple of thigh-level undergrowth, and cleared the witch-brown tangled vines from an enormous fallen timber, giving way to the opening of a secret natural tunnel. Lady Min, carrying a box wrapped in pink silk cloth, on his tail. By the fall of the macabre came another bigger one. An abandoned house, deliberately hidden from the paths of the common folk (as if it was a common track to go through the grotesque portion of the forest). Fallen branches, twigs, and decaying leaves hatted its straw roof. A cover extremely repulsive that could repel any lost traveler. On the inside, however, was a simple, harmless kimchi storage. Loin cloths on top of large earthen pots. Spider webs forming their formal assemblies on the ceilings. Pillars that had once been bedeviled by colonies of nomadic termites.

Another ploy to trick any beasts who wished to pester the place. The real color was revealed when Lady Min removed a pile of dead leaves and branches from the floor, exposing a wooden door. She unlocked it with a silver key and pulled the door open. A piercing squeak like an army of fruit bats incoming. The Prime Minister went down the stairs, leading to a dark, poorly ventilated subterranean room. Lady Min lit the wall torches, providing the sheath of light needed to cast away the cloak of total darkness.

Ten, one-man, narrow prison cells. Five on the left, five on the right. Tiny holes on the wall barely provided them air to survive. Faint whimpers and groans trying to evolve into wails. Eyes burning and crying for help.

The first man from the left—scrawny and ghastly, hair gray and balding, was curling down the hay floor. Tongue sticking out from his arid, cracked lips. Panting and chasing his breath. Eyes shut. Jung Ho approached the bars to inspect, but he suddenly bounced back and covered his nose. The stench of the man's clumped stool clung on his nostrils. Swarm of flies flying around their moist, cushiony, yellow cake. Fresh, open wounds on the face, neck, and arms—covered with fluid pus—eaten by wriggling maggots. A centipede just slithered out of his pants as the Prime Minister scrutinized.

Jung Ho's eyes aroused as a grin reached his ears. "He's ready. Take him out tomorrow before the sun rises."

He inspected other cells, his eyes perusing each detail of an inmate's morbidly destroyed body. No—moved to the next—another no—maybe if she broke her gaunt, wrinkly arm tomorrow—no—no—and no! Only one passed his standards. As he turned to the last cell on the right, his shadow obediently following him from behind, sheathing the poor detainees' light of salvation, Jung Ho studied his main objective. Lady Jang, all in white, hair unpinned and tangling down to her waist, and lying on the big, wilting palm leaf. A cup and bowl flipped, scattered on the floor.

"Get up," ordered Jung Ho, his voice as frosty as a glacier.

The dethroned (suspended) Head Priestess moaned. She opened her eyes, a hazy figure of a man in front of her. When her sight adjusted, a quick breath heaved at the top of his desert-dry throat. She stuck her arm between the spaces of the bars, fingers reaching for the Prime Minister's boots as she writhed and dragged her feeble body closer.

Jung Ho looked down like he was about to step on a worm. "You will be released today to help the King in the ceremony. I assume that you have learned your lesson, or else I would start thinking what lies inside that vacant-brained head of yours."

Lady Jang raised her head and muttered, "Thank you… Y-yo-your Excellency."

His brow lifted, nose wrinkled in a grimace. "I have read your letter. You said the Queen was carrying twins. It seems like Chil Yook was right with his reports."

"That's true, Your Excellency. A nurse has told me."

"You're lucky. I'm aware that you wish to retire in a quiet temple, far from the turmoils of the palace. Now if you want to earn your freedom, you need to pull this one last string for me. Suppose you succeed, I will personally arrange your trip wherever you wish. Fail, then you'll have the same fate as these people over here."

"Anything you ask, Your Lordship!" She pummeled her master's boots with her lips.

Jung Ho signaled, and the elderly matron opened the cell.

"Get dressed. I'll wait outside my carriage."

The Queen's chamber was like a spillway, filled with rushing beavers (nurses) rushing to and fro bringing clothes, herbs, and other equipment. Court ladies rearranging the room, removing unnecessary things to make it more spacious and conducive for childbirth. Everyone was in a state of panic, like a neighborhood expecting a thief at any time of the day.

It seemed like they had forgotten about the solar eclipse. All that mattered was the Queen's delivery. According to Dong Hee, she was set to give birth later at night. How she wished she was wrong!

The Queen had become more lethargic after her argument with the King. She spent most of her day lying in bed, the sheets sucking her energy. Suddenly, she felt a strong, excruciating pain inside her tummy. Eventually to her hips, until it annihilated her. She could not describe how painful the feeling was. Maybe the word painful itself was a stomach-clenching understatement. The contractions never stopped—piercing, pinching, and boring every muscle, every portion, not just in her baby bump but all over her body.

"Dong Hee!" she screamed. The Head Nurse, who was wiping her feet, ejected and gave her a calming tonic that she had prepared. "Here, Your Grace." She raised the Queen's head and guided her in drinking the medicine slowly.

"It's… it's stronger today," the Queen mumbled.

"Hush now, Your Grace. You will be better."

"They're coming today, aren't they?"

"I hope not, Your Grace."

The ebbing queen held her friend's hands. "Dong Hee, please do not forget my request." Her upper eyelids flickering, head circling. "Save my—" She did not finish her statement and fell asleep. Once again, Dong Hee was reminded of the door she must enter.

Waiting outside the palanquin, the Prime Minister crossed his arms, stomping a foot. When Lady Min and Lady Jang came out from the bushes, he scanned the Head Priestess from her braided hair in a silver pin down to her long white robe, with a touch of black motives at the ends of the sleeves. She appeared to have gone on a long, refreshing vacation. No trace of one-day trauma after all. An angel that has descended from the sky.

He ambled towards her, eyes as black as basalt, which made her flinch in fear, "The whole kingdom needs your presence, and for that, I give you temporary freedom. Do your best to fulfill your duty, and we shall do ours. But after this, pray to the Heavens as much as you can because we still have a lot of things to settle."

He swiped her chin with his finger before continuing, "Do you understand?"

"Ye... Yes, My Lord," Lady Jang murmured.

As he was satisfied with his servant's answer, the letter about the twins struck his curiosity for the second time. His obsession with the details pestered his head like a tick crawling on his scalp so he asked, "Say, who among the twins would be the good fated, the ill-fated? How would I know? A birthmark? A sign? Or shall we do another ritual?

Shaking her head, Lady Jang respectfully replied, "I wish I have the power to predict it early." She knew her visions were bound to happen. Failure in technical aspects (like calculations) would not tarnish the accuracy of her gift. "I do not know any signs, My Lord. You can only know when it's the right time."

"When they're fifteen." Jung Ho rolled his eyes.

"I'm afraid so. I saw something about your nephews that disturbs me."

"Do continue."

She gulped, ready to share her dreadful premonition. "Out of nowhere, I saw an image of two kings, sitting on two thrones. One wears black, the other is dressed in white."

"That's it?"

"The one in white flaunts a human head with his hands, while the one black pets a human heart."

Jung Ho pouted his lips, eyes squinting. He laid his hands on his waist as he paced around the moist forest floor. He chewed his gums, his thumb circling his chin. "That's an interesting thought. Two kings on two thrones, you say? What does that mean? Never in history had it happened. Two kings at the same time? It must mean something else."

Lady Jang sucked her teeth, contemplating about what the Prime Minister said. He had a point. Two reigning kings would be against the law. Diving to her mystical pool of thoughts, she convinced herself that her precious blessing was on-point, even if the Prime Minister seemed not to believe at all.

Jung Ho turned around, ceasing his thoughts for the time being, and ordered, "Go inside. We shall wait for Chil Yook. He might be here at any moment from now."

When the Prime Minister entered his palanquin, the ladies followed. After a few hours, a nangdo called, "Your Excellency, Gukseon Chil Yook is here." Jung Ho went down and noticed that his right hand was alone. In supposedly high noon, Chil Yook's dried cheek wound glimmered under the fading sun from a tiny crevice caused by coiled, old vines, up in the canopy.

"Chil Yook, you came just in time. Where are your men?"

"It was a long story, My Lord. They were killed by one of Dae Wong's nangdos.

"What about Dae Wong? Where is he?"

"By this time, I assume someone has already saved him, cleansed his wound."

"Wound?" Jung Ho barked. "Haven't I told you—no bloodshed."

"You have, Your Excellency. But it was the incompetence of his nangdo that almost took his life. One of his men followed as I chased the minister. He planned on shooting an arrow to me, but it missed. It did scrape my skin, but it impaled the minister. The nangdo took his life immediately, and as a Gukseon, I buried his body. Worry not, My Lord. I attended the minister's wound. He won't die, and he also won't make it on time."

"You better make sure about that." Jung Ho stretched his palm. "Now hand it over."

Chil Yook picked the book from his robe and passed it to him. As Jung Ho touched the real almanac, his cheeks blushed, lips stretching to the biggest smile ever. The dose of euphoric satisfaction charged his prancing heart, his floating feet, and his spinning head. Finally—as certain as he was—the King would not be able to discover the truth about the eclipse.

"Congratulations, My Lord."

"Thank you, but not yet. Stealing the throne is not my utmost priority as of now. I should weaken his post until stepping down would be too luxurious for him."

Out of a sudden, the two ladies got off the palanquin to see Chil Yook. Lady Jang smiled in relief, and Chil Yook waved his hand gently. Thought they could hide that to Jung Ho? The Prime Minister scoffed and sneered, but he chose to ignore their growing teeny romance, considering his henchman did his job very well.

Lady Min butted in, jaws gaping wide open, "Impressive! You've got it! I guess it is a good thing that even though no one among us could read that one, the King would still remain clueless about everything."

Jung Ho agreed, engraving a smirk on his lips. "Definitely. He claimed himself as the so-called father of the nation, so it is he who should answer to the people."

Lady Jang put in, her spirit of inquiry poking her. "I don't intend to ruin the mood, but suppose the eclipse did not happen. What would you do, Your Excellency?"

The Prime Minister vehemently censured her question, "I doubt it! I refuse to believe with that stupid idea that the planets' and stars' alignments have something to do with the solar eclipse, but hypothetically speaking, if the eclipse did not happen, then I guess I have to proceed with my next plan already."

Sae Joo grew up as the Crown Prince while Sae Yoo grew up as a son of a blacksmith.

Propped on the large black leatherette like a king in command of his empire, Lucifer was in a meeting with Callista's C Companies associates. 

They were here on behalf of Callista, since she is busy with her wedding which is rumored to take place after half a year. 

Sitting across the man were two extremely good-looking caucasians in formals, one with blue eyes and other with hazel green who looked younger. 

"Thank you, Mr Lucifer. It was a pleasure to meet you.. Thank you for your clarification, rest assured the collaboration is still on. Our Madam has faith in you and your company.."

Dressed in a crisp striped shirt with a navy blue jacket and matching pants, Lucifer looked suave. His clean-shaven look added a sharpness to his chin and jawline, his gray irises sparkling akin to uncut rough diamonds as he smiled with his thin lips curving faintly. 

"I'm honored Mr Clarke.."

"We'll see you tonight.."

"Yes. My secretary will see you guys out"

"No problem, thank you.."

As the two caucasians exit Lucifer's office, Assistant Xinglei's nose scrunched uglily as he eyed the breezy Adrian who waltzed inside unannounced. 

'Why is he here again?', the bespectacled assistant thought inside his head. 

Indifferent to the obvious hostility directed by Assistant Xinglei, the man with beautiful blue eyes pushed the glass door open and disappeared. 

'Whatever, he's the boss's man!'

Almost rolling his eyes under the specs, Xinglei went out of the room to take a breather. 

"Boss!"

Staring at the towering figure of Adrian from his chair, Lucifer tossed a straight question that left the man speechless. 

"Hmm.. What did you find?"

Thinking back to their conversation, the smart Adrian had an inkling of what his boss was asking about. 

However, Adrian didn't manage find anything substantial on the mastermind, yet. It left him shocked for a moment as Lucifer's question fell on his ears before gathering his words to reply. 

"Uh.. That, it's not about that.. It's about Yang, I mean that man!"

The coldness in Lucifer's tone was as frigid as his expression when Adrian's tongue rolled Yang Deming's name. His gaze darkened too. 

"Speak!"

Nodding his head, Adrian took a seat across the man whose ice-cold gaze was fixated on the documents before him. 

"He captured our weapons, and sent a threatening letter that was found in our container that was shipped last night.."

Pausing for a beat, Adrian's blue eyes dancing with mirth flicked to meet Lucifer's. 

"Well.. He's also sent a letter of apology to the young master of the Chang's!"

Yang Deming, being fooled by Lucifer, sent a letter with his sincere apology regarding the scandal and commotion in Golden Sun Corps, to Chang's Holdings young master who is also Lucifer. 

As confusing as it sounds, in simple words Yang Deming believes that Lucifer and the young master of Chang's are two different persons. 

Seemingly uninterested in the matters of Yang Deming, Lucifer shot a lazy glance at Adrian. His lips curled faintly into a derisive smile. 

"Is that all? Don't you think you've become quite slow after reconciling with your woman?"

With a red-face, Adrian coughed awkwardly to hide his embarrassment. He brushed his nose that was slightly itchy. 

*ahem*

Recovering from his embarrassment, Adrian's expression changed as he sat up straight. 

"That.. Yeah, Luke called. That scientist, Patrick Wilson, he's been kept captive at a small island near S Country, under tight surveillance.. Luke says that it's difficult to get him out of there"

Still engrossed in studying the documents, Lucifer inquired in a low voice. He was asking about the time required to accomplish the given task. 

"Hmm.. How much?"

Rubbing his brow with his finger, Adrian was sceptical as he answered. 

"Two months maybe.."

Finally raising his head, Lucifer gave a brief nod before parting his pursed thin lips. 

"Tell Luke to call me next time.. It's been long since we had a proper conversation!"

The 'conversation' bit compelled Adrian's imagination to run wild. He shook his head to get rid of all unnecessary thoughts and stood up to leave. 

"Oh! Okay, I'll talk to him.."

As Adrian was about to turn, Lucifer's gaze following him turned warm and his mellow voice laced with concern was heard. 

"Also, don't disturb Dai Yu and Damien.. Let them enjoy their vacation in peace!"

The crease on his forehead relaxed as Adrian nodded his head. A slight smile playing about his lips.

"Yes boss!"

A towering figure in white stood under the bright lights, slender hands carefully pouring water into a glass. The ink black eyes shining as they landed on a frail looking woman standing in front of a painting. 

Taking a deep breath, Ethan took long strides towards figure peering at the painting on the wall. He was attired in casual white clothes and not in a formal suit, which was unusual. 

Dressed in a warm sweater dress in cream that reached her above her knees paired with warm toned leggings and boots, Sera looked quite feeble. She was frowning with interest, trying to remember something distant. 

Her pale skin was slightly better than when she was admitted in the hospital. Her dark hair were let down, covering her shoulders and small ears. 

"Sera.. Drink some water"

Gently touching her shoulder with his large and warm hand, Ethan offered the glass of water in front of Sera. She shot a grateful smile at him, accepting the glass and taking a sip. 

"Thanks Ethan!"
