Chapter 226. Two similar shows (2)
"Long Lu, what are you watching? Tomorrow we have our final exam! Quickly start studying!"
In a four-person dormitory room, four girls were sitting in front of a desk, each of them holding a book in their hands. 
Yet, one of the girls was sneakily playing on her phone instead of studying. Long Lu was the brave girl who dared to play with her phone in such a critical period right before an exam.
It was not like she didn't fear the exams but for her, there was something more important than exams. It was watching her favorite celebrity, the heavenly king.
Although she was wearing a pair of earphones, she was occasionally talking to herself, which was disturbing the other girls.
The girl sitting behind her reached over and lightly hit her head with a book.
"Ouch!! What are you doing? Can't you see I'm watching something?"
Long Lu cried in protest but the other girl refuted her in a fit of anger.
"Can't you see that we are studying for the test? We can't afford to fail it or there will be a makeup test. The professor was already angry with our previous test results."
"Yes, that old man is really scary."
Another girl said, flipping one of the pages of her text book.
"I don't care about that. Today, my favourite celebrity is being featured in the show 'A house date with Meng Meng'."
"That heavenly king!!"
The other girls became excited when they heard that it was a show featuring a heavenly king.
All people have some little interest in a celebrity that has been titled as one of the heavenly kings of the Chinese entertainment industry. 
That's why, the other girls flocked around Long Lu and started watching the broadcast, forgetting that they have exams tomorrow.
On the screen, a man wearing some casual clothes was sitting on a sofa, his demeanor elegant and refined. He was talking to a cute, short girl sitting in front of him.
She was obviously Meng Meng who had a smile on her face as she talked to the heavenly king.
The girls watched with some interest but soon, they felt that the questions being asked to the heavenly king were childish and there was nothing new. 
The screen soon changed and the camera showed the viewers a glimpse of the heavenly king's home. 
It was magnificent and grandeur like expected. It was like the home of a prince or a king. 
"Can you zoom in?"
One of the girls tried to zoom in but she accidentally opened the live comments section.
There were already more than thousands comments on it and several comments will envelope the screen every second. It was too rapid!!
-Wow!! The house is really too big.
-As expected of the house of a heavenly king.
-Is it just me or the show getting boring? For the past thirty minutes, we are only hearing praises of the heavenly king.
-It's not just you. I think the same too.
-You people should not watch it if you think like that. Don't slender Meng Meng.
-We aren't slandering anybody.
"The comment's section is really heated!" 
Long Lu exclaimed as she read all the comments. She felt that some people were slandering the heavenly king but it was just because she was his fan.
"Well, I think that the show is getting boring."
One of the girls said while the one who had earlier hit Long Lu with a book chimed in.
"Yes, I watched earlier episodes of it and the show only works because of the host cute expressions."
"The format is something that will get boring for the viewers soon."
The third girl added.
The thoughts of the three girls were practically the same and Long Lu couldn't help but glare at them.
"You three can't see the male god sitting there. Isn't that enough for the show to be running?"
"Only you think like that."
"You are talking like that because he's your favorite celebrity. You should come out of your decision."
"I don't want to keep watching just to hear his praises. Look, the comment section is getting more violent."
One of the girls said as she pointed at the comments appearing on the screen. The other girls focused on the screen.
-I can't watch more.
-I thought it would be exciting since there's a heavenly king appearing but….
-All of you people should go to sleep if you think like that.
-Yes, don't watch the show.
-We are just writing down our thoughts. No need to get aggressive.
-Hey guys!! Change the channels and watch A celebrity daily life!! There's something unexpected going on in that show.
Even though the show was boring, it was still featuring the heavenly king. The number of fans of a heavenly king are a force to reckon with.
The people who were speaking negative about the show were soon kicked out but one of the comments interested the four girls.
"What type of show is A celebrity daily life?"
One of the girls who don't know about the show asked and Long Lu answered her.
"It's a show similar to A house date with Meng Meng."
One of the girls told her about the format of the show and how it was similar to A house date with Meng Meng.
"Aren't the two the same?"
"From what I know, Meng Meng's show is younger. It's the copy probably."
"They have just changed the format a little."
"Yes. Look, many people are recommending ``A celebrity daily life in the comments."
Long Lu pointed to the comments section and the other girls also stared at it.
-Recommending A celebrity daily life!!
-You will miss it if you keep watching this.
-I am going. You all should go too.
-Why are people recommending another show here? 
-I'm also thinking about that.
--You should watch A celebrity daily life and you will understand.
"Maybe we should change the channels too?"
"Yes, Long Lu, change the channel to SKB. Let's see what it is all about."
"OK."
Long Lu changed the channels and the screen changed to out of a dojo.
"Dammit! What's this?"
The four girls couldn't help but exclaim in surprise when they saw the screen.

There are 2 parts to this update:

     First I want to mention something interesting I learned about San Nicolas Island.  This is the place that Emily, Zach, Lizzie, Zane, Monica, Mady, Ty and everyone live on.  I want to make it clear that I don't live on San Nicolas Island and I just choose this place because it seemed to be the perfect spot to start the novel's setting in.  So I don't know everything about the Island because I don't need to know many things about it for the novel.  I only know it's location and a few other things I looked up and found on Google.  

     The interesting thing I just learned, I read about in a book.  The book is called "Island of the Blue Dolphins" by Scott O'Dell.  This is a book I've read a few times but I read the full Author's Note for the first time today.  The Author says that a Spanish Explorer had found the "Island of the Blue Dolphins" and named it "La Isla de San Nicolas.  Which, if you can't figure it out, it means the Isle (or Island) of San Nicolas.  The Author also mentions that this was originally an Island that Indians lived on and there was an indian girl who lived their alone from 1835 to 1853.  That girl was what the book was based about.  So I learned an interesting fact about the Island's history today.  

     
     The second thing I want to say today is that I'm thinking of changing the way the novel is set up, like the format.  Right now chapters are in different Point Of Views, but I'm thinking that it might be easier for me, and might be easier and better for you guys to understand what's happening, if I change it so the story is being told in third person POV.  This way during a chapter you can read about both main characters POV.  

     For an Example, I wouldn't say a POV at the beginning of a chapter and I wouldn't use words; I, me, we, or us in the novel.  But I might still do a chapter in a POV every once in a while because it fits the story better. 


     I want to know what you guys think.  Comment at on this chapter and tell me if you want POV's still or if you want to try third person view.  I don't want to post more chapters until I know what you guys think so be sure to comment please.  If it's been a few days and no one has told me their opinions I will post a chapter in third person so you know what I mean, but before I continue the book I want to hear your opinions.

First thing I have to say is that this is a mix between Contemporary Romance and Fantasy Romance, I just picked Fantasy Romance because it seemed to fit the story more

 This is a story about Emily a girl who lives on a rather small island with a rather small population where everybody knows everybody and most secrets don't last long as a secret. She is a highschool student that is practically perfect, if someone could be perfect. She is athletic, Smart, Social, and has a crazy tight group of friends, but an important part about her is she has never ever dated someone. She is straight and finds all the boys in her school idiotic, repulsive, not worth it, unmatured, jerks, or not right for her. So she doesn't bother with dating and she focuses on everything else in her life.
 But what happens when a mysterious new boy suddenly turn Emily's world around? Will she change and accept it? Will she let her guard down? and most importantly what will she learn about him?
 
 When new boy Zach comes into her life things change, that's for sure. Bit is it for better, or worse?

 "The most amazing part about him was his mesmerizing eyes.  They were dark, so dark that they could almost be considered black, and they had so much wisdom in them.  You could see emotion in them, though it was almost behind a wall..."

 " I feel a strong gaze is on me.  I turn my head and am looking into the eyes of the new boy.  It was mesmerizing, I could feel his eyes practically staring into my very soul and I felt deeply drawn to him and those eyes....."

 "To my surprise, he gave a little smirk then, as if having found what he was looking for, he walked over to the bleachers and sat down surrounded by his *followers*."

The time inside the Archives of the Chantry is fruitful admittedly for Gray Allister.

Despite the modest size of the Library, the acquisition of books itself is more than enough for the Elf to acquire the knowledge necessary for him to mingle with the common folk of this world.

Thankfully, the text depicted in the books is much similar to the English Alphabet, dubbed the Common tongue in this world, so there were no issues whatsoever in his studies.

For one, the knowledge of how the Calendar system of the world is a must-have if Gray wishes to keep up with the current affairs.

Fortunately, the system is the same as back in his original world, much to the Elf's utter relief, albeit the different terms associated with it.

There are 12 months, each with 30 days, 7 days in a week, and a 24 hour period.

The month comprises in the following chronological order:

1. New Dawn
2. Lover's Rise
3. Labor's Toil
4. Evening's Dusk
5. Grace's Call
6. First Stone
7. Last Stone
8. Joy's Hallow
9. Summer Hand
10. Mead's Fall
11. Ending's Cry
12. Winter's Grasp

And the days are also arranged in the same way:

1. Primis
2. Secundus
3. Tertium
4. Quartus
5. Quintus
6. Sextus
7. Septima

Gray further asks Theo at what the date today is so that the former can ascertain its format.

"9th day of Joy's Hallow, 1457." Theo happily obliges him as Gray nods in gratitude.

After observing that the Elf is completely settled in, Theo leaves him alone to his devices.

Gray also learns that the time can be read by the use of clocks thankfully. As a matter of fact, the mechanical contraption was invented by the Dwarves as they innovated time reading throughout the whole of Silverhart, making people's lives a whole lot easier since Sundial and Moondial are the norms back then.

And again, just like his former world, the reading of time is very much similar to the 12-hour format that he grew accustomed to.

Continuing his self-education, Gray grasps the fundamental knowledge of Silverhart and its provinces as he referenced it together with the related books and a diagram of the world map showing in a page of another book that he found in one of the shelves.

Ashnatar, the homeland of Gray's race, the Elves. It is a green and pasture land filled with fertile farmlands, majestic forests, and towers of old. Many of the settlements are small and isolated, ruled by the leadership of a powerful Mage in service of the Elven King.

Wolfhead Valley, the Orc's residence. It is a rocky province in which the soil is ruptured and blood-red in color. The land itself boasts rugged cliffs and canyons, where many terrifying beasts assume into the heart of the habitat. It is indeed a jarring environment for one to live with, definitely not for the faint of the heart, but the Orcs themselves appreciate the harshness of the environment, which resulted in the remarkable strength and fortitude that they possess today.

Underforge, The city underneath the earth. The mighty and huge city is certainly a testament of the Dwarves' strength and innovation, being perhaps the most intricate out of the other Provinces. It also emphasizes the Dwarve's industrial capacity, boasting technological feats and mechanisms that keep the city running into excellent shape at every time of the day.

Sakarata Desert, an arid of sands everywhere in its wake where the Cat-folk considers their haven. It is a place loaded with harsh desert lands and tropical forests that houses monstrous beasts such as giant scorpions, hulking gorillas and many more.

Geckonia, home of the Lizardlings. The majority of the province is filled with dark swampy marshlands as the place itself can be remarkably intimidating, especially for the other races. But for the Lizardlings themselves, it is their very home at heart, reveling into the spirit of the "True Gecko" that gave its boon into the land.

Of course, the aforementioned provinces are not the only places that encompass the whole of Silverhart itself.

Being a vast and open world, Silverhart boasts an array of landmass as portrayed in the world map. Many exotic places must be explored and Gray could only grin in excitement at the prospect of traversing every place of the world in his quest for power.

Anyways, Gray did not overlook the last province, the homeland of the Humans...

He felt the necessity to study this province even further because as a matter of fact, it is the place where he currently resides, upon seeing the village of Oakwood in its geography.

From what he learns, it is a monarch state populated mostly by the Human race. The province is ruled jointly by a King and Queen, along with their trusted White Council.

Whitemoor is a place known for its fair climate, and clement region. The central part of the Province houses the Tamwall Valley, a balmy enormous landmass named after the Human War Hero, Tamwall Ercnard. The Valley boasts its fertility, renowned in the passage of history for supporting the crops and livestock that sustains the lives of the Province's denizens. 

As a matter of fact, Oakwood Village is also a part of the huge Valley, explaining how fertile the farmlands are with the addition of Wynather's Blessing on her part. The valley also encompasses green forests and split into unsullied rivers that sustain the beautiful land.

While most of Whitemoor is a luscious flourishing valley that consists of fecund drylands, pristine waters, and temperate atmosphere, such is not always the case.

In the north and western part of the Province, huge mountains are marveled in all its natural glory, effectively acting as frontiers for Whitemoor's security. The southern area is not for the coward though, as thickly forest and dark marshlands are what makes its ecosystem, emphasizing the borders of Geckonia. In the east paves the way to a stony formation of region, stretching forth into the entrance of the humongous Underground City of Underforge.

Road networks installed in the outside areas are the prominent way of travel in the Province, serving as a pathway between Cities and Villages.

The Province houses 8 Major Cities including its capital, each with its distinct characteristics.

Flocaster – The City of Jewels, and the Province's major trading hub.

Chadena – Likewise known as the Warrior's Retreat, and home of the Warrior's Guild.

Vroving – The Port Town in the north that is perpetually covered in snow. It is situated near the border of Skorna, home of the Northern Nordic People.

Blerton – A city filled with crime, poverty, and anarchy. Rumored to be home of a Guild of Thieves.

Adaburn – A quaint county in the west where the Monastery of the Divines is located for aspiring Priests and Monks.

Ilarora – A city in the south surrounded by the dark marshlands and tundras where Lizardling culture is heavily influenced.

Oseginia – The eastern city of the province near the Underground City of Underforge. As such, it is not uncommon to witness Dwarves making their trade and business with the citizens around the area.

Everfall – The Royal Capital City of the Province, home of the prestigious Arkanos University.

Additionally, his high Intelligence attribute made it easier for him to grasp the contents of every book that he reads.

While in his studies, he suddenly remembers that his Codex also holds the category of BOOKS & NOTES inside when the last time he checked it. Opening the Godly item, he took notice that indeed, the contents of the book that he read has been stored inside, should he desire for later reading.

He immediately tests this system even further, seeing if a flip of a book's page is enough for the assimilation of information to happen.

And indeed, it surely does.

'The Codex sure is awesome indeed.' Gray thought in gratifying surprise. 'Like the game Dragon Age, if you merely glance into the book's page, then it will be stored right inside.'

This truly means that every information, knowledge, and intelligence is ripe for the taking, thanks to the convenience of such a Godly book bestowed by Sylvia herself during his first quest.

Now armed with the necessary basic knowledge, Gray grins in utmost jubilation, proud of the efforts that he has made today.

And with that, he made his exit from Archives, gaining the whole erudition of the books that are now amassed deep within the Codex, much to his very liking.

The world had become an apocalyptic playground for a demonic race that had cause a outbreak of zombies and mutated beasts upon humanity and the only way to fight them was through refining oneself and gaining strength from a virtual reality video game that suddenly appeared out of nowhere called Celestial's Space Core: Evolution's Might!

A celestial was gazing upon the sea of stars that twinkle in the sky with a heavy yet sorrow filled heart. Her very being was being pulled to another multiverse to be reborn to become even stronger and transcend into higher being than ever before, but her heart was reluctant to do so because of her love for her home and almost all the races that live there. She who was a human before her rebirth as a celestial because of her unique soul will nolonger be able to come back and humanity who will be facing disaster after she leaves will not be able to protect themselves. For her last ditch effort to saving humanity after she leaves, she created a game that will change humanity and give them the strength to survive.

"Really? I'm on my way home now. Let me take a look as soon as I get home."
"Don't make fun of me after watching my dancing, please!"
"Of course, I will. Let me take delight in that, hahaha," said Hyunwoo jokingly.
When he got home, he downloaded her video clip and played it.
He was a bit disappointed because of her dress. She put on an Ao Dai, which was modernized to fully show a woman's sex appeal. From head to waist it was tight to the body, with the open skirt down to the ankle. 
What surprised him more was her figure. Actually, he had never seen her wearing a tight skirt before, so he could not figure out her figure.
When he watched the video, she had a great figure. Wow, how come such a slender girl has such full bust!
The video showed her preparing to dance soon. Her sex appeal was more provocative because of her white thighs. Her long and white thighs were seen on and off while she was dancing, which attracted his attention all along. 
If Jiah and Yu Zuung danced together on the stage, obviously everyone would focus on Yu Zuung. 
While watching the video, Hyunwoo decided on the format of the music video. He felt Jiah and Yu Zuung could make a perfect match with Soyun dancing in the center. 
He felt even if Soyun's face was revealed, she might not attract the people's attention because of Yu Zuung's stunning beauty. 
The problem was how to persuade Soyun. Hyunwoo was unsure if the masks she sent could convince Soyun.
After playing the video, Hyunwoo checked out the masks she drew, but he didn't open the downloaded file on the masks. Instead, he replayed her dancing video.
After playing it twice, he opened the file and looked at the masks.
She sent several pieces of mask drawings; they were all excellent. 
In particular, he liked one that would look best on Soyun; it featured her lips, chin, and eyes in a charming way. With the mask on, she could never be identified as Soyun.
In contrast to Soyun's, Yu Zuung's mask revealed much of her face, which made her beauty stand out. Standing beside her, Soyun would get as much attention.
"Great. Let me persuade Soyun with this."
After he made an appointment with the principal of Todolyipyo, Hyunwoo headed to the school early afternoon. Fortunately, the girl who composed Temptation was at the school.
Hyunwoo first met with the girl named Unsook Hong, who composed and sang the song.
As she was handicapped, she was in a wheelchair. 
Overcoming the loss of her grandmother, she brightly smiled at him and said, "Thanks so much. I never thought you would produce a music video of my song."
"Because your song is good!"
He had a conversation with her on various topics and relayed Jungah's feedback about the music. After listening to it, Unsook replied in the positive and then pushed her wheelchair to the music room.
Looking at her with a satisfied smile, Hyunwoo asked the principal, "So, what happened to Soyun?"
The principal shook his head and said, "Well, she even objected to her disguise with a mask. It looks like she hates appearing before the TV camera."
But Hyunwoo could not give up. 
"Can I meet her?"
"She might avoid you."
"Can you arrange a meeting with her, please? I'm going to do my best."
"Got it. Wait a moment here. Let me bring her over here," said the principal, letting out a sigh.
Hyunwoo waited for a while until she came. 
She seemed to avoid seeing him, but at the principal's urging, she reluctantly came into the principal's office.
"Let me make sure nobody hangs around the office. Please have a good talk then."
The principal closed the door and left.
Hyunwoo silently took out some pictures and set them before her.
Though she tried to avoid looking at them, she still looked quickly.
Actually, the pictures were a woman entertainer's which were edited with Yu Zuung's drawing. One of them was so small that it almost revealed her face, while another one hid her full face. 
"Can you figure out who she is?"
Soyun could not reply at all because she couldn't figure out at all.
Now he told a light lie by saying, "Actually your picture was put on make-up and then covered with a mask. Can you identify the picture is yours?"
Soyun's eyes opened wider, full of curious eyes, "Are you sure? Is this picture of me?"
Smiling at her, he said, "Yep! You will never figure out, though."
Hyunwoo again lied by saying, "In fact, only one of these pictures is yours. One is Nami Yu's picture, another one is Sojin Jung's. Now, can you find out which is yours?"
Soyun tried to find out by checking each picture against others carefully. 
Hyunwoo furtively smiled because there was no way she could find her own picture. There was no Nami's nor Sojin's picture there. All the pictures were a female actress. 
This time Hyunwoo told her the truth.
"In fact, I've told you a lie. All the pictures are Kayun Jung, the famous actress. How about it? You can never figure out it's you, right?"
Soyun was pretty confused. She even could not believe the pictures were all Kayun Jung.
Hyunwoo began to tell what he wanted to tell her.
"I want to make a music video by hiding your face like this. Nobody will find out the dancer in the video is you, and I will keep it under wraps by all means."
But Soyun was not persuaded as if even the perfect covering of her face was not that important.
She coldly rejected his suggestion.
"Our students will find me out anyway, and the rumor will spread quickly."
"Well, I'm going to make the music video without them knowing it. Let me tell the principal that you rejected my suggestion flatly. This is going to be top-secret so that only you, me and the cameraman know."
Soyun kept silent as if she was surprised by his unexpected proposal. But she again she refused, citing various reasons.
But Hyunwoo didn't budge and persistently persuaded her.
And at some point, he touched on her most vulnerable point, namely her disgraceful exit from the entertainment field. 
"Think of the people's perception of you. In their minds, the name 'Yuni' of Hey Girls will conjure up the image of your dirty scandal three years ago. Are you going to live with that image for the rest of your life?"
She closed her eyes, which showed clearly she went through the very tough times since then.
"If you keep hiding like this, the people's perception about you will never change. Aren't you upset about that? Why should you live in that kind of disgrace for all your life?"
"What should I do then? Take revenge? Me? How can I deal with these terrible guys? Do you think that's possible?" she suddenly spoke out, with a rueful look. 
Hyunwoo replied in a calm voice, "I think that's possible."
"Of course, there is a possibility, maybe less than 1% of success. If my identity is revealed, though, the possibility that Taesu Ahn will take revenge on me will be much, much higher. I don't want to go through that again."
"No, I expect the opposite will happen."
Soyun looked at him with a sharp but curious expression.
Hyunwoo continued, "If the music video fails to win the people's attention, you can't be their topic. There is no possibility that your identity will be revealed in that case. On the other hand, if the music video becomes popular and enjoys the intensive attention of the people, some other dancer than you will be the subject of their hot topic. I'll make the video in that direction."
Only then did Soyun begin to show interest.
"How?"
Hyunwoo showed her a music video instead of replying. It was Yu Zuung's dancing.
Pretending to show her genuine interest, she watched it carefully.
"I'm going to have her participate in the music video, too. This lady will put on a mask, too. If the video gets pretty popular, I'll ask her to take off the mask first. You will see that once she takes off the mask, she will enjoy the sole attention of the people."
Soyun felt the same way. She thought as far as her appearance was concerned, nobody could beat her, but Yu Zuung's stunning beauty clearly put her in the shade.
