Les gens peuvent se dire que j'ai une vie de rêve à cause de la richesse dans laquelle je vis…. Ahah, je vous ris au nez. Quelle idée. C'est l'enfer ici. Personne n'aurait voulu être à ma place. Reniée et traitée comme une chienne. Ne connaissant personne. N'ayant plus rien. Ma mère est morte. Mon père est un lâche, ne m'assumant pas. Tout va mal pour moi. La seule bonne chose de ma vie, c'est ma dague. Quand j'avais 5 ans, j'ai fait toute une crise car je me sentais seule. Je voulais ma mère ou quelque chose qui y ressemble. Pour me calmer, un garde m'a donné une dague au hasard en me disant que ça appartenait à ma mère. Je ne suis pas idiote, je sais bien que c'est faux mais le fait qu'il m'ait offert quelque chose, même à contre cœur, qui ne soit pas de la nourriture pourrie, m'aide à ne pas craquer. On dirait que son pouvoir ne marche plus, hein ? J'en ai marre, j'en peux plus. Je préférerais mourir que d'être ici. Ce qui va se passer prochainement m'agace au plus haut point, je ne peux pas le supporter. Ils ont prévu de me marier au prince héritier (que je n'ai jamais vu de ma vie) pour préserver les gènes. Ils m'ont bien précisé de ne m'attendre à aucun pouvoir politique. Génial…. Pauvres débiles, dès que vous me sortirez de ma prison pour aller me présenter au prince héritier, je m'échapperai. J'ai juste à attendre… Encore. 

Je suis dans le carrosse… J'ai juste à attendre encore 2 petites minutes, le temps que ce véhicule passe la porte du château...….. Encore… un tout petit peu…. Okay, c'est parti! Je sors du carrosse à toute vitesse, surprenant les bonnes et les gardes. Je fonce vers la falaise qui est à une bonne centaine de mètres. Les gardes me suivent de près en criant "Arrête toi salope!!" comme si ça allait me faire changer d'avis.. J'arrive à 3 mètres de la falaise et je souris.. Pour peut être la première fois de ma vie, je souris. J'ai de l'espoir. L'espoir de pouvoir enfin mourir… Enfin. Je me retourne pour voir les gardes s'approcher tout doucement de moi en me chuchotant presque de revenir doucement par ici. Je souris en les fixant de mes grands yeux bleu-gris puis sans regret et sans attendre, je me laisse tomber de la falaise. Enfin, je… meurs… mais mon cœur bat à 100 à l'heure… 

….. Je suis pas morte. Argh. Je sens la douleur parcourir mon corps et mes muscles se tordre de douleur. Je tousse et mes poumons en payent le prix. Mais je n'arrive pas à ouvrir les yeux… Je sens une chaleur sur mes lèvres.... Eurgh, non… Ils m'ont retrouvée et essayent de me sauver pour après me torturer ?! Ou alors ils vont violer mon corps inerte ?! Putain, les salauds….. Je savais que ma vie pouvait être pire qu'elle ne l'était déjà… J'ai plus qu'à sauter d'une falaise encore une fois… Je sens mon esprit retomber dans l'insconcience…. J'espère… Mourir dans mon sommeil..

….. Toujours pas. Je savais que le Dieu était contre moi. Je ne peux jamais rien faire. Je ne peux même pas mourir en paix !!... Je soupire de désespoir en ouvrant TRÈS difficilement les yeux. Ce que je vis me surprit tellement que j'en clignais des yeux plusieurs fois. Ça tangue…. Et l'odeur et le bruit de la mer… Je suis sur un bateau ?.. C'est pas vrai, un marchand d'esclaves, je parie ! Je soupire une nouvelle fois avant de me redresser en grimaçant de douleur. Je suis dans un lit…. De qualité (drap en soie, couette en laine).... Ouh la. Je suis où ? J'entends des voix mais je ne les distingue pas.. Je ne connais aucune de ces voix. Putain, je suis où..? J'enlève ma couette et je vois que… J'ai été changée ? La robe de première qualité (avec pleins de froufrous et de ceinturons qui serrent) que m'avaient choisi les bonnes s'est changé en simple nuisette blanche.... Et sans sous-vêtements en plus ? Je me sens pas bien.. J'ai mal à la tête. On m'a violé puis c'était tellement bien que le mec a voulu me prendre pour épouse ?... J'en ai marre. Je comprends rien… Soudainement, me faisant sursauter, la porte s'ouvre sur un homme… Cheveux mi-longs noirs, yeux verts émeraude… Mais le plus choquant… C'est….C'est….UN PIRATE !!! Putain, j'ai vraiment pas de chances !!! Il a fallu que je tombe sur Cap'taine Crochet en personne… Je pâlis avant de soupirer une nouvelle fois en le regardant dans les yeux. 

Moi_ Je vais mourir ? S'il vous plaît, faîtes vite. 
Crochet_ Quoi ? Pourquoi je te tuerais après t'avoir sauvée ?
Moi_ Pourquoi m'avez-vous sauvée ? 
Crochet_ J'en avais envie. Et ton visage est plutôt beau. Tu ne voulais pas que je te sauves ?
Moi_ Non. 
Crochet_ T'as des yeux vides… 
Moi_ Vides ? 
Crochet_ Tu as l'air insensible.
Moi_ Merci. 
Crochet_ Ce n'est pas un compliment. Bref, lève toi et viens manger. 
Moi_ Je préfèrerais mourir de faim. 

Il ne m'écouta même pas et me prit le poignet pour me sortir de la salle. Je me laisse faire, c'est pas comme si j'avais la force de résister contre un pirate. D'ailleurs, il est plutôt bizarre.. Il ne m'a même pas demandé mon nom et ne m'a pas demandé pourquoi je voulais mourir… Je le regarde fixement, plutôt intéressée. Il me guidait à travers des couloirs en bois, des trappes et des échelles pour aller sur le pont. Je vois toutes sortes de pirates me regarder fixement ou me siffler mais je m'en fous complètement. On entre dans une salle qui est sûrement la salle à manger VIP. Ouais, VIP, parce qu'il n'y a que 7 places dont 2 vides. Sûrement pour moi et Cap'taine Crochet. J'avais raison, il me force à m'asseoir sur une chaise tandis qu'il s'asseyait près de moi. Les 5 personnes dans la salle me fixait silencieusement, coupant court à leur conversation. 

Crochet_ Hey, les gars. Voici la rescapée !.... Heu, c'est quoi ton nom ?
Moi_ ..... Mary. 

Je ne peux pas leur donner mon vrai nom. Si par pur hasard ils en viennent à en connaître sur moi, ils me vendrait au palais. Je les regarde fixement, les défiant du regard. Avec un peu de chance, s'ils me trouvent provocante, ils me tueront. 

Pirate1_ Elle a un mauvais regard. 
Pirate2_ Elle est super courageuse ! 
Pirate3_ Pourquoi elle flippe pas ? 
Moi_ Sinon quoi ? Vous allez me tuer ? Faites donc.

Crochet_ Hum… Elle fait exprès, elle voulait mourir. Elle a sûrement tenté de se suicider. Puis pourquoi gâcher un si beau visage~ ? (en attrapant mon menton) 

Pauvre obsédé. 

Crochet_ Puis elle est intéressante, elle pourra nous être utile pour intégrer la capitale. 

Je me fige. La capitale ?.... Genre le château, la Cour etc ?... Putain, ils me connaissent tous là bas… Ils me dénonceront. 

Moi_ Il est hors de question que je pose encore un pied à la Capitale. 
Pirate1_ Ton avis ne compte pas. Mais dis moi… Madame ne serait pas une noble ? La façon de parler. Ses manières. Noble à 100%. Pourquoi une noble voudrait se suicider. 

Je fronce les sourcils en la regardant fixement. Oui, car c'était une fille, elle, une rousse. Les autres, c'était des hommes, un blond et un brun. Comme on dit, les femmes sont plus perspicaces, hein ? Je reste silencieuse en la défiant du regard. 

Crochet_ C'est vrai, je me disais bien qu'elle était étrangement très polie en étant hyper franche en même temps. 
Moi_ (détourne le regard en haussant les épaules) Pensez ce qui vous plaît. Je ne pense pas avoir à devoir vous donner mon identité précise. Vous ne me connaîtriez pas de toute façon. 
Blond_ Haha~! Mais je connais tous les nobles aux cheveux argentés, des enfants illégitimes du roi aux petits nobles de campagne, ma petite Mary~. D'ailleurs, il n'existe aucune noble argentée nommée Mary, menteuse. En tout cas, pas de ton âge. 

Tch… Il bluffe à coup sur mais mon cœur a raté un battement en entendant "enfants illégitimes". Il l'a sûrement remarqué car il me regarde malicieusement. Je soupire.

Il me frustre, le Crochet.

Durant toute ma vie, je n'ai rien fait. Je n'ai fait qu'obéir aux ordres qu'on me donnait. Ou faire ce qu'il semblait bien pour les autres. J'étais tellement naïve… Naïve… J’ai découvert un tout autre monde maintenant. Et je sais que ma place est parmi eux. Avec lui.. Vous voulez connaître mon histoire ? Ce sera long à raconter mais je ferai de mon mieux~.

When I next awoke it was to a curtain drawn room and a comfortable nest of a little makeshift bed.

I must have been put into a spare converted room after I passed out. From the low light that seems though I can guess it must still be the same day, early evening at the latest. 

Out in the hall, I can see it's the same downstairs hall as the kitchen and washroom from earlier. I don't dare open the doors to the other rooms, out of respect more than anything else. 

My host is strange but kind, kinder than anyone's ever been to me for two lifetimes. I won't take that for granted, ever.

Since there are no signs here, Gable must be upstairs. 

The hall and stairway aren't entirely dark, little lights glow from geometrical shapes hang on the walls. They're like an improved version of glow in the dark star stickers I had in my bedroom as a kid.

God, this house is cool.

I  don't really know what I was expecting Gable to be doing.

Diligently looking over his research?

Elegantly reading a book?

Brewing some cool potions?

Summoning unholy forced from a realm beyond over a blood sacrifice?

Whatever I was expecting, it was not him curled up by the fire crocheting like a little old lady. 

Well, I suppose he's is an old man. It's a very cozy looking scene, hot cup of something by an open fire on a comfortable looking chair. If it weren't for all macabre bird bones and somewhat witchy looking materials it would be very holiday postcard-worthy.

Unless you're into that sort of thing.

"Awake I see, it's still early, now's a good a time as any to be up. Won't lose any sleep before bedtime, damn what even is bedtime for kids like you? How are you feeling now?"

Without looking up Gable seem to always know where I am and somehow I don't think that has anything to do with magic. 

"Much better, my throat feels scratchy but my nose is much better."

"Hmm, sounds about right. Another milk before bed then. Now stop hovering by the doorway and come try these on."

"Yes!"

I was only trying to be polite by not intruding but since I've been given permission I'll gladly make myself more comfortable. There's no other chair but plenty of cushions to pile up, all with a hand-knitted pattern cover. 

The items Gable pulls out for me to try were a poofy pair of crochet high waist shorts and matching long wool socks in the same soft walnut color. There were all of course near infant size and looked adorable. 

"Waaah you made these? Amazing!"

"Yes yes yes, best I could do. Your old clothes were...not fit....for anything. These were the quickest things to whip together"

"I understand completely if they're not salvageable, thank you so much Sir Gable."

"Just Gable is fine."

AH, it seems he's not one for such formalities. But it makes sense, given how he prefers to live away from most of society. Or that he even stays friends with the crazy old man that is my grampa, even after all these years. Better safe than sorry though, who gets kicked out for being too polite?

"I'm serious, they're so well made! You can do so much and crochet too, it's amazing."

"Great then put them on already."

"....is this magic?"

"I'm sorry?"

"The socks, are they magic?

"Well, no but I did enchant my tools?"

I don't think sir Gable understands how difficult it is to crochet socks normally. I'll just stick to knitting. Cozy as they are, they are a bit stiff and baggy but they could be rolled down to fit.
The shorts are very roomy but warm. I for one am glad to finally have something to cover down there.  

I just need some shoes and a cute hat for this adorable countryside outfit to be complete. A hat....a hat really would be helpful,...

"You don't seem too pleased but bear with it for now."

"Oh no I love them, they're very comfortable! I was just thinking about how nice a hat or something to cover my hair would be....it wasn't like this before you know. Tree sap accident."

I explain as I awkwardly gesture to my messy hair. It's much less of a bird's nest after a clean bath but it does look something quite pitiful. 

"Ah yes a hat, that I can do, but how about we try to neaten that feral child look of yours first?"

"Yes please, if you could be so kind."

"I don't know if there's much I can do with it so I hope you don't mind it short."

"Short hair doesn't bother me, it's okay even if I look like a boy/"

"Relax and try not to flinch much."

I'm lightly lifted and seated to the corner of a table before Gable covers my shoulders with a rag. He wets my hair with a comb and instead of pulling out a pair of scissors, he brings forth a green flame between his fingers. It follows his steady hand, wisping across my forehead, over my ears as it burns away the choppy uneven strands left dangling.  

It dances in warm spots at the back of my head and I try very hard not to clap in astonishment and applause. 

Why can't this magician be my grampa instead? Hey, can I request a trade-in?!

When he finishes I see my reflection for the first time in this life. 

Not in the moving water of a pond or river, nor in the face of my twin but clearly in an actual polished mirror. None of the funny reflective bronze stuff either, an actual clear mirror.  

Large sharp hazel brown eyes, bordering on gold, stares back at me. The round face of a small child, one who should be familiar, but isn't. It's the same baby heart-shaped face as Lilyanne's but fuller, tanner, with cheeks that are too warm and flushed. Decently dark if not a bit judgmental eyebrows, a little button nose, and a perpetual pout, all these things make up my face. 

So this is the face of a villain?

Indeed I make a good looking little boy, hair cropped short all around. However, my bangs and the sides were left to frame my round little face rather favoringly. My hair looks darker, straighter when it's this short, none of Lillyanne's fairytale curls except the barest of edges. 

I don't look like Lilyanne like this. I don't look like her at all, identical face or not. It's an entirely different aura, a clearly different child. 

I think I like it.

"It will grow back in time. "

I assume Gable responded to my silence with the assumption I'm disappointed and am quick to shower him in praise once again.  After all I am a little girl and thus a little vain, besides he's on team long hair himself. If anything, it would be difficult to pull off some of my future plots looking like this. What good is being twins if you can't switch around for your own gain? But that's an issue for further along in the future. 

"So what now? Do I just wait around for grampa to pick me up? As much as I'm glad to be here, and I really am grateful, I wouldn't want to impose too much on you. "

"For everyone's peace of mind yes, I'd prefer if you stayed where I can keep an eye on you. I'm sure your parents would prefer it that way as well. Honestly, what was Ronald thinking?"

"Did grampa send me out here to find you maybe?"

"Absolutely not, he doesn't even know I'm out here." 

"Didn't he leave to visit you in the North but a few months ago?"

"Never said I was there though, heh. Might have missed me this year."

It's like hide and seek then. What a strange friendship.

"Anyways there's plenty of room and you're welcome to stay Rosalia. I assume you're mentally old enough to not have to be babysat but given your current physical state, well I'm sure you understand."

"Yes, thank you very much for opening your home to me. Please don't mind me, I wouldn't want  to get in the way of your daily routine."

"No worries, Ronald does enough of that already. Compared to that trouble magmet, a smart behaved child like you is no bother. "

Truly a strange friendship between these two but that's a given.

"Then, please take care of me until then."

Just like Gable said, grampa is known for being late. 

My cold came and gone but that one night in the hobbit house turned to two then three and now going on near two weeks already. 

Gramps definitely overshot that '3 day's' pick up date. While it's exasperating of him, I'm secretly glad about it. Every day here has been enjoyably fascinating with the seemingly endless amount of research, books and pleasant company in this cottage.

Even if I do get assigned some daily household chores. Gable has no qualms with putting me to work and keeping me busy. It's really no big deal to me, who used to be a normal commoner, but wouldn't it be simpler to just use magic?

But hey what do I know?

If I'm told to sweep, organize some shelves and feed some strange giant 'farm' animals each morning well that's not too unreasonable. Those mutant eggs are great, even if the huge mother birds are very dinosaur-like terrifying. I always believed the T-rex had feathers and this may be what they looked like if shrunk down to the size of a goose. 

I don't mean to outstay my welcome but again, better under someone's supervision than off on my own getting eaten by a wild something. The worst thing that could happen to me here is maybe getting kicked by the old 'goat' during milking.

I'm actually having a very nice time playing farm house, it's very refreshing as it is a workout. 

Well, Gable has to keep self sufficiently feeding himself somehow. Of course, there would be a vegetable garden and some usable 'farm' animals in addition to all his strange herb plots. Though the more valuable and dangerous plants are kept in a nursery underground. 

Relying on the bounty of nature is fine and all but inconveniently time-consuming, though we've gone out for a foraging 'walk' twice already. Only then am I allowed to walk past the illusioned gates of the compound, beyond the firewood stacks and common vegetable patches.

By now I've been here long enough to accumulate a tiny pair of scrapped fur-lined leather boots and an enchanted weather resistant hooded cloak for when I go outside. The cloak was a dark brown, child sized and of course hand crochet. Upon my request and recalling a simple pattern from my other world, I asked for Gable to attach cute bear ears on the hood. 

Cuteness must always prevail.

The foraging trips were quite educational as I was introduced to many other plants and creatures I previously did not notice or knew the useful properties of. If I'm ever caught stranded in the woods again I'll have a much easier time.

But we ended up with much more wild mushrooms and common spring fruits since those are the things I can best identify. 

The rest of the time Gable is often working. He seems to have multiple projects going on all at once and even if he was only working on one thing I wouldn't be able to keep up with understanding it.

He's like a busy stay at home author or freelancer back in my world. 

Very self disciplined with his work and very likely to forget all sense of time. There is no clock here but Gable doesn't seem to need it anyways. The hobbit house is so full of skylights and bits and pieces of scattered natural windows that it's easy to judge the time of day. 

I don't know if it's my added pretense but he seems insistent on taking time out for three solid meals a day.

We had just popped an herb mushroom quiche into the kitchen oven when he mentioned it to me one afternoon. 

"You weren't a fighter were you."

Sudden but it wasn't a question, the slightly sad tone of voice told me he wasn't talking about the present. While he often treats me like a small child in need of assistance, which I am, Gable always speaks to me with an adult sense of respect.

 I appreciate that and in return never play games with him in the way I do others

"No...I mean I'll put up a fight if need be but, the people in my world didn't need to fight so much."

"You cook, you know a lot of recipes from what I've seen. You read a lot even without aid, somewhat education. Even without me you could forage the woods. You even know how to craft some...creative things."

He gestures to the flower headband on my head that I crochet a few evenings ago, curled in front of the fireplace as he made by the little cloak. They're simple to make and I crocheted two other plain ones as a thank you token for Gable, to keep his hair out the way if he needs it. 

What he meant though was that my behavior showed that I was a normal civilian. Softer, a support player, not a frontline warrior. That's how this world operates thought peace has finally come, the battles too fresh for most of the older generations. 

It's true though, I was living in a 1st world technologically advanced country. Where would I need to fight? Outside gym sessions or women's self defense classes where would I get the opportunity to? No, I was just a normal young woman who never even held a real weapon. Unless pepper spray counts?

"Ronald was, ...a soldier I mean. In his life before. Sometimes he forgets not everyone is one, too caught up in his world view. "

"It can't be just that....grampa treats my mother very gently, and my little sister too."

"Either too gentle or too rough, no in-between with that idiot."

I think I can understand what Gable is trying to defend here. He won't tell me grampa's origin story but in between the safe retelling of stories I would hear anyways, he slips up. He tells me bits and pieces about grampa that paints a very human picture. Not a god or an infallible hero, just a person, very possibly with PTSD, with a lot of goof ups, mistakes and good all mixed up. 

How gross.

I want to say it's a biased picture but Gable isn't the type of view anyone but with the truth, especially his best friend. It partly clashes and greatly fills out the image of the grampa in my head. Of course, I won't admit to sympathizing with him, can't make it that easy. 

"So he's either a brute of muscle head or a useless family dog?"

"Oh absolutely."

The dishes float to the sink to wash themselves and I undo the little apron over my new handmade overalls. I'm not a cartoon character, one outfit the entire time wasn't going to cut it and Gable is a very neat tailor. 

He was already crocheting more clothing for me anyways. If I drew out the clothes or a pattern I remembered from Home EC, it could be shortly produced. It was rather nice not having to make excuses for just knowing things. 

Our peaceful craft time in the evenings are more enjoyable than my downtime back home. 

I'm learning a lot out here, not just foraging and farm work. 

Potion brewing was never one of my strong points but Gable makes a splendid tutor, it being one of his specialties. I can already make my own cold droughts and work at enchanting simple things. My most glorious work, however, has to be making some much better tasting internal healing potions, low grade as they are. They're a little fizzy, like soda pop!

At first, I was concerned about falling behind on weapons training and such but as Gable reminds me, I was never much of a physical fighter. 

"By all means, if you have something keep at it. Can't have too many cards up your sleeve."

There's plenty of time as Gable rises early and I try to follow him, though I do still need my afternoon naps. So I run my daily exercises as I see fit, just to physically keep up. The farm and housework eliminated any need for a weight routine though. 

As much as I'm learning here, even through just observations, the best part is how I can just be. I may be small but I don;t have to play a part other than a polite house guest. I can speak freely without fearing giving out suspicious information because it's only Gable and the woods here and he already knows. No pressure and certainly no spying eyes on me, it's quite nice to live so freely. 

I understand why Gable keeps to himself so away from the rest of society now. 

While I can't live like he does, I still have a lot of growing up in this world to do, I really hope this peaceful time stretches out even for a little bit more. 

As all good things though it must come to an end. 

A tremor runs through the ground. 

I think it's an earthquake before Gable draws a circle into the air, a portal with camera vision of the surface showing through it. An airheaded man, far too familiar to me to be called handsome, appears wandering across the screen like a lost dog. 

"Rosa! Here girl, where are yooooouuu?"

Grampa's familiar voice vibrated through the ground from wherever he is on the surface and instead of joy or even relief at his late arrival I can't help but feel like cursing. Ah what an irritating sort of man. 

Why am I being called out like the common pet dog?!?!

"Rooooosa! Grampapa' is here! I know you're somewhere around here~ Well, at least the bag is....huh funny, swore I passed that tree before."

"...He's caught in your illusion isn't he?"

"Works every time, oh well better late than never. Just be glad it didn't take him 5 years this time kid."

You know what, I actually wouldn't mind that. 

Damn grampa.

You've probably heard this sort of story before.

 

Once upon a time, blah blah blah a boy and a girl fell love and everything was beautiful and perfect, except for this thing called life getting in their way. 

He was this cool foreign prince and she was basically perfect. Really it's a very boring run of the mill story. I'll even spoil it for you, they kill the villainess at the end.

Not the type of story I'd read personally.


So where do I fit into this?

Apparently I'm her older twin sister and the very very lucky fiance to the foreign prince. You know, the dead villainess? Sucks I know. 

Now I get to do it all over again from the beginning.

Two days later, at the edge of the Dragon Snake Space Zone, where Firefly was docked…
A thousand years ago, in the last years of the Star Ocean Republic, Firefly's antecedent had been the exploration starship of the latest generation.
At that time, the Cultivators of the republic had high hopes for the experimental starship. They had stuffed all the magical equipment of the Star Ocean Imperium, the primeval technologies excavated from relics, and the hope of all the people into the body of the starship that was as round as a whale.
The experimental starship was supposed to have carried out the greatest mission ever. It would set off from the heartland of the civilization of mankind and explore the corners of the universe in search for the worlds lost in the Armageddon Rebellion, which caused the collapse of the Star Ocean Imperium, so that they could rejoin the big family of the Star Ocean Republic and build an even more brilliant, glorious civilization of mankind together!
When the behemothic body of Firefly slid out of the dock in space for the first time, and the ninety-nine engine units in a rhombic distribution emitted the most dazzling blue light at the same time, none of the joyful, cheering Cultivators of the republic, however adept they were at deduction and calculation, could have foreseen the absurd fate of the experimental starship in the future.
The very first official voyage of Firefly was not for exploration and discovery but for hiding and running.
In the long thousand years, Firefly had discovered a lot of Sectors with the powerful probe magical equipment on board at first and received the support of the Cultivators in those worlds.
Countless Cultivators who were unwilling to bend to the rule of the Imperium had carried all their belongings, techniques, and magical equipment into their own starships that were in a myriad of different styles. Then, after simple technical modification, those tiny starships were connected to the main body of Firefly, like the barnacles that were attached to a big ship or a shoal of fish that were swimming together with a blue whale.
The advanced space jump matrix on Firefly could release a special protective membrane that prevented collisions, which should have been very likely when two starships performed a space jump close to each other.
Such a technology enabled the possibility of a hundred starships jumping simultaneously when they were stuck together closely. It also constructed the basic form of Firefly in the hundreds of years that followed.
In its prime, centered around Firefly, almost six hundred starships constituted an enormous group of refugees, with a population of more than five hundred million.
But the good days did not last long. The corpulent structure and the redundant internal control system greatly lowered the combat ability of Firefly. After a few soul-stirring battles, although they luckily escaped from the blockade of the Imperium, the number of starships that made up 'Corporate Firefly' was reduced from more than six hundred to less than three hundred, most of which were empty iron coffins that had lost all the impetus and only managed to stay in the group by the pulling force. The population on board had also plummeted by eighty percent. The society was on the brink of collapse.
Before encountering the Star Glory Federation, Firefly was like a whale that had half rotten. It was drifting with the current in the sea of stars and could not throw away any 'iron coffins' despite knowing that its body was slowly decaying, because in the universe with few available resources, a lot of useful garbage could be dismantled from the scrap starships even if they were already total losses. Therefore, if one looked from the carriers that were shipping resources, Firefly—which was illuminated by the crimson flames of the red giant—did not look like one firefly but an amalgamation of hundreds of fireflies that were surrounded by circular rails, docks, floating ports, and maintenance bases.
Hundreds of carriers were shipping assets to them incessantly. Thousands of times more maintainers were working diligently in the cold vacuum outside of Firefly in their crystal suits, like a group of ants that were struggling hard in the sea of stars.
A seemingly plain carrier without any marks on the shell passed through a circular orbit dock and a starship that had been declared a total loss a long time ago and was ready to be completely dismantled. It then slowly approached the main body of Firefly.
The universal exploration starship had been utterly deformed. Hundreds of communication tubes had been connected to its shell, linking it closely with the other starships around and making it look like a heart from which countless veins and artilleries were extending.
The carrier moved unhurriedly. It entered the inside of Firefly. Countless close-distance defense cannons turned swiftly in various directions. Invisible identification rays were brushing past the newcomer now and then. A hundred fully armed Exos were also floating in the vacuum. The crystal cannons on their shoulders had been unsealed, and starry brilliance was flashing at the end of the barrel. Behind the cold masks of the Exos, sharp eyes seemed to be gazing at the carrier without blinking.
The carrier slid into a secret dock when it was several kilometers away from the 'heart' of Firefly.

They included a middle-aged woman in a black coat. Her face suggested that she was a rigorous person. Her left eye was missing and replaced by three crimson crystal cameras.
She was Cheng Xuansu, the leader of the special investigators of the Internal Affairs Division in the government-in-exile, as well as the commander of the arrest operation.

"An anti-tracking specialist must be a tracking specialist. How can you not understand such simple logic?"
Frowning, Cheng Xuansu looked at her subordinates.

Reen shared what happened to her with her uncle and aunt. Her uncle just listened silently and didn't violently react to her story. Hue and Wisteria was feeling a bit guilty for not properly explaining the misunderstanding to the press as a result, it affected her private life.

On the other hand, Chad used a white slim button cotton knit V-neck with a red casual jumper sweater jacket cardigan coat and a navy denim pants with a natural waist. He matched it with a grey wingtip shoes which had an Interior elastic strap at the tongue for a snug fit, textile upper and lining/rubber sole. Then he finished it off with a simple casual shorter on the sides and longer on the top hairstyle.

The same instructions were given to them today so they walked around the park talking and laughing. Reen pretended as hard as she could that nothing was wrong but as hard as she tried on some parts of the video her distraught was still evident.

The staff wisely did not comment on this since they knew how hard she was trying. They thought she was depressed because of the issue this morning not because of some misunderstanding or anything that may relate to that but rather by the invasion of her privacy and the manipulation of news which they all knew she hated.

They also thought some of the scenes where she was displaying such emotions can be used to add some "imperfection" parts that usual couples experience. So the crew tactfully continued filming.

Reen and Chad rested and sat on a bench, it was almost dark and the street lights were starting to light up.

"Today was yet again another fun day isn't it? It doesn't even seem like we were filming at all." She smiled while looking up at the setting orange-red sun. 

"You..." Chad said in an exasperated tone

As the destruction calmed down.
There was a figure standing on the remains of the many demons.
The surrounding area was burning fiercely and even the clouds were in flames.
In so much flame, the figure was standing without flinching. His long black hairs were tied in a bun and he was wearing a completely white dress.
His eyes were completely red and if anybody were to stare, they would feel their soul getting lost in a bottomless abyss.
His body was tall and slender and had a fair skin while a wooden stick was in his hands.

'*Good job, Tarun! you have defeated a peak saint level demon with ease after just stepping in the Saint realm yourself not too long ago.*'

Came a voice from a black hawk which was flying behind him.

Tarun, whose face had no expressions just turned around and left without throwing a glance at the hawk.

'*Today is your last day in the hell, how are you feeling? Excited for your trip to the Blazing-Radiant world? *'

Asked the Hawk.
Tarun, at this question stopped, and then started to walk again without giving any answer.

Tarun while ignoring the hawk, went towards a very large castle which was visible from every direction of the hell.
There were many dwellers in his way but they all ran after they saw Tarun! 
The dwellers, who have seen all kinds of torture, actually got scared of Tarun. As Tarun saw them, many started to wither away at a rapid speed which frightened the rest even more.
After slowly and slowly walking towards the castle, He finally reached the gate which opened on their own and when he stepped inside of the castle, a very friendly voice came

"Oh hey Tarun! I see you are back, come come, look what I prepared for you for your fight in the Blazing-Radiant Tournament! A New set of daggers! You like them, right? Hey Dracula, where are you flying, come here and look at these!"

Listening to the person who was obviously Lucifer, the Hawk flew towards him and started to examine the Daggers.

Suddenly the portal closed and in a different world, which was burning even brighter than the sun, a portal opened!
There were Many portal which were opening in that area and hence it didn't stand out that much but One person which was registering the people coming from the portal noticed a golden hue around one of the portal which gave him a huge shock!
He immediately rushed towards that portal and as he reached it, 
A very graceful and handsome man stepped out from it! His hairs were tied in a Bun and he was wearing no rings, had no weapons and instead was wearing a very normal looking white robes.

Many people started to laugh at him as in contrast to him, whoever came to this burning planet was wearing many types of armors, had many rings of different use and had some really sharp and scary weapons.

Many laughed at Tarun but there were some who looked at him with a solemn expression as they noticed the light golden hue coming from his portal.

"Welcome esteemed guest! My name is Siwa. I am the in charge of receiving people from other worlds. May I know what your name is?"

Asked the person who came to receive Tarun.

"Tarun"

Said Tarun with a very low voice.

"Are you here to take part in the Blazing-Radiant Tournament?"

Asked the person very timidly

"Yes"

Replied Tarun with a very low voice again.

Siwa immediately started doing something in his notebook and Tarun started observing this world.
This Blazing-Radiant world was created by the Flame Emperor, Amir Flame and it was always on fire. The flames were only high enough to completely engulf a person's feet but they were not burning anything.

Tarun suddenly spotted a firefly near him and started to walk towards it and extended his hand. But before his hands could reach the firefly, the firefly flew towards Tarun and exploded!

Everyone was startled by the sudden explosion and saw towards Tarun's direction and suddenly many people in red robes also appeared beside Tarun

"Are you okay?"

Tarun nodded to their question before shifting his gaze towards a group of people who were laughing hysterically.

"Damm!! Bro, your mind control has reached new heights!! You can even explode the animals you control!?"

Siwa also saw this and hurriedly rushed towards Tarun

I settled into the hero role and the years of adventures slipped by. 

I faced a host of enemies from jet skiing bank robbers to shape-shifting royals. I even faced down a time travelling rocker hell bent on kidnapping Elvis Presley.  

One of the most evil was a serial killer who called himself the Stranger. For months London was in a grip of terror.   

The press had jumped on it and named him Jack the new Ripper.  

He had slashed a bloody mark across the cold streets. Me and the Chief tried everything we could to catch him. But he was always cleverer, quicker and just plain luckier than us.  

Then destiny took a turn and out from the night as I did one of my patrols stepped Firefly a fourteen-year-old kid who wanted to be nothing else but a hero like me. 

I wasn't sure what to do or say. But in the end, we talked. It turned out he was an orphan. His parents had been killed during the war. And every night in the orphanage he dreamed of giving some payback to the bad guys. 

Yet even with all that said I could see something in his eyes. He meant what he said. He might have been only fourteen but he was nobody's fool.  

Then destiny stepped in again. I had installed a police radio in my car. Suddenly it fired into life. "The Stranger suspect spotted in the British museum." 

"We could be there in 5 minutes in your car." Firefly said.  "I know a short cut."  

Inside my head I tossed a mental coin. Heads I bring him, tails he comes with me. 5 minutes later we really were skidding up to the museum.  

The whole place was swarming with police. The Chief was waiting for me. "Who's the kid?" He asked.  

Firefly, as I was soon to find out, was quicker than he looked. "I'm his new partner, name's Firefly. So, Chief where's our bad guy to." 

The Chief gave me a sideways glance.  

Somewhere deep in my heart I felt the Dirty Desperadoes give a cheer of defiance. What the hell I thought. No guts no glory. "The kid's with me Chief." I said.   

"Right ok." The Chief said. "This freak or monster or whatever the hell you want to call him is inside. Turns out a woman he attacked wasn't that much of a push over. In fact, she holds a third Dan in Karate." 

The Chief took his gun out. "Witness reported last time she saw him he was running inside the museum. That was 15 minutes ago."  

The kid looked at me and said. "I can do this." 

 

We stepped inside the dark museum and fanned out. I'd forgotten how big the place was. 

"Firefly." I whispered. "Stick with me." I saw him look at my guns. I shook my head. "No chance you having one kid, you're lucky you got this far." 

Slowly we made our way through the massive rooms.  

"Look." Firefly whispered and pointed to a wall full of swords.  "One of them is missing." 

Then from above we heard the sound of singing. 

"Gee this guy's crazier than a full moon." Firefly said.  

Then very quickly a sword was placed to my neck. From the darkness a voice calmly said. "No young man, I'm perfectly sane. But I take it you both did not know the museum now houses a large record section above."  

The blade then pressed against my skin. "A perfect distraction, don't you think Darknight?" The stranger as he pressed the blade harder. "Now put the guns down slowly before I chop your head off."

"Acknowledged," a rumbling, mechanical voice spilled into the area. It was so loud that the soundwaves became shockwaves that flattened the grass against the ground.

I can speak! If I figure out how to do it, maybe I can speak to the people. What would I even tell them? We are already enemies.

"Deliver terms of surrender," the mechanical voice boomed, louder than before. Birds in the distance flew out of the canopy of the trees, and fled the area.
