It's Halloween. It's always Halloween, but everything's real. There's no one here but monsters, and I'm so bored... so who shall I play with today?

A moth sees a firefly for the first time. He new he had feelings for him the second he saw him. 

The firefly know the moth and always had a thing for him. 

But when they met they learned unexpected things about each other. They live there daily lives but going on adventures with each other. 

But what happens when their problems come into play and rumors fly in the air?

In the outer reaches of the galaxy, someone had watched the entire battle from above, and was not too pleased about the outcome.

"GRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *gasp* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Solaria shrieked loudly, penetrating and severely damaging all throughout his castle. Maligra, was hiding behind a lone, sturdy column, trying to hide from Solaria, only to be magically thrusted into his presence.

"EXPLAIN YOURSELF!" Solaria commanded, trying to hold back his attempts to utterly destroy her.

"I-I-I-I-I-! Master!!! It was not my fault!! The Reaper was nothing but a shoddy pawn as a-a-a-all…! Bu-but we did gather the soul y-you required!" The skeleton witch fumbles as she attempts to get the black soul from out of her cloak, but she ends up accidentally tossing it due to all of her fear. Solaria immediately catches the black, vile soul, and stares at it deeply. The dark lord then stares down Maligra and speak more sternly, "Your bumbling has earned you your survival…. You disappointing sack of bones and dust. But DON'T let this ever happen again…."

"Yes master…" Maligra pandered as she kissed his tentacles, "Hail master…" Solaria shouted for Maligra to get out his sight before he changes his mind, and Maligra immediately dashed and crashed back into her spell room. The lord of everything eternally evil then headed to his throne room and stared down at Sonia through his spy glass. The black soul that he held in his grasp began to shake a little violently while Solaria watched the ginger. Solaria looked down at the vile soul and tended to it. Solaria whispered gently to the soul and stated, "Shh… do not worry. Your time will come soon enough. And her time… will come to an end." The vile soul took a look at Sonia and immediately knocked down the spy glass, thinking that it was Sonia. Instead of getting furious, Solaria held the soul once again and decided to make a cackling laugh that echoed through the galaxy, knowing that the vile soul will become his best creation yet… which will come someday soon...

Back on the surface world, once the explosion had died down, the souls that were trapped into the orb had finally been released. The flailing souls flew high in the sky and proceeded to zip straight into the bodies of their original owners. Every soul-stricken citizen was now brought back to life, and those who were hypnotized were finally coming to. Sonia, who was still in her magical form, immediately grabbed a long jacket dropped by one of the once-sentient skeletons and put it on to hide her injuries, and she changed back to normal before anyone near her could recognize her. Sonia suddenly felt a body grasp her from behind, and Sonia made a small scream and threw the grappler onto his back. The grappler, however, turned out to be Sonia's dad, who groaned from his sudden body slam.

"Dad?!" Sonia shouted in surprised then proceeded to help him up, "Oh my- dad, I'm sorry… I didn't know it was you."

"Heh heh heh," David chuckled, "It looks like by little butterbean has some strength to her, heheheh-ow ow ow ow ow…." Sonia helps her dad up and fixes his back some, and they both watch as everyone was helping each other out. From parents, to children, to students of the school, to even the town mayor came by to help each other out.

"Has anyone seen my high-tops?" Cindy, the prima-donna teen and Sonia's school rival, complained, "I NEED MY HIGH TOPS or I AM GOING TO CRY!" Mellisa's classmates wake up from their slumber and run into Mellisa's clone. They go and greet her, but the clone doesn't understand what they're talking about when they asked about the Halloween party and just instead goofily agreed and nodded to everything they said. Julianna had also received her soul again, and slowly sat up and rubbed her head. The original Mellisa finally came outside, caught sight of Julianna and tackled her down.

"Bestie! I found you!" Mellisa shouted happily as she gave her bestie a squeezing hug.

"GACK…! Mellisa…! You're CHOKING ME….." Julianna complained due to Mellisa's deep hug. Sonia sighed in relief and sit next to her dad, and her pets came by and comforted them. Aside from Sonia, everyone began to wonder why they were in the graveyard in the first place. Mellisa, the original, then perked up and told the denizens, "Hey everyone! Bestie and I set up a Halloween party in the mansion, would you like to come?" Everyone began to like the idea, but Mellisa's other friend came in and replied, "But wait, we don't have any costumes." However, the ghosts intervened and stated, "Nonsense, young child, for we can overcome your feathering fickle." The elder ghost then snapped his fingers, and with a dose of magic from the mansion itself, everyone suddenly began to wear colorful and creative costumes. Much of the townsfolk wore variations of classic monsters, and some of the students even became characters from fantasy~! Sonia now wore a witch costume with orange and black lining, along with a big broomstick and a luscious 'n' ripe pumpkin to boot! Julianna became a zombie badass with much of her hair covering of her eyes, a dark brown cloak, and covering over her mouth a bandana decorated with sharp monster teeth as its design. Matthew and Scruffles snuck around and put their shadow beast outfit on just for fun and to try and scare any of the other partygoers. Finally, Mellisa wore an illustrious black cat costume, a shiny black outfit with a long, swishy tail, long black knee-high stockings, and ears with a blue hue that matches Mellisa's lovely eyes. Once everyone had their costumes on, Mellisa cheerfully declared, "Ok everyone! It's time for a spooky, scary, Halloween party!!" The rest of the townsfolk cheers happily and Mellisa playfully marches everyone to the mansion. Once inside, one of the ghost children turned on the music and everyone began to jam. All of the students, children, and adults were having a spooky time. Not to mention that Matthew and Scruffles were running around spooking some of the guests before jumping into a dancing frenzy. Sonia danced with her father and was actually having a good time. Sonia now felt that she was worrying for nothing. She looked up at her dad and said, "Hey dad?"

"Yes, my butterbean?" David replied in curiosity.

"Y'know… you were right." Sonia began as she explained herself, "I was being a little bit too worrisome today. I shouldn't let worries of my work get to me like that. I should learn to take a break and have some fun."

"And are you having fun, sweetheart?" David asked as they danced hand-in-hand and Sonia turned to see everyone having a wonderful time. Sonia smiled at the sight, looked back at her father and stated, "Yeah dad. I'm having a wonderful and spooky time~." Sonia and her dad gave each other a loving hug, and Sonia then completes it by saying, "I love you dad."

"I love you too, butterbean," David replied happily.

"Hey everybody! It's time to do the MONSTER MASH!" Mellisa announced gleefully and she changes the CD soundtrack from its current song to that of the Monster Mash, and everyone, including Sonia, her father, both Mellisa and the clone Mellisa, the ghosts that inhabited the mansion, and the "Shadow Beast," got on the dance floor and began to perform the Monster Mash dance. The moonlight shined across the Haberdashery Mansion as everyone enjoyed their Haunted Halloween Bash. As every danced, a jack-o-lantern stood tall and freshly-carved on a table. Because of the magic going around in the house, the jack-o-lantern grew a sinisterly-joyful smile. The jack-o-lantern then cleared its throat and states with a booming voice, "A Jack-of-all-trades, I happen to be, and a Happy Halloween to you from me." The jack-o-lantern then created a booming, yet joyous laughter, making the night spookier for you and for me. Orujinshinaka was now in the spirit of scariness, and Halloween was now in ultimate bliss.

Jessy and Adam glanced at the calendar hanging on the wall of the mansion's living room, they grinned from ear to ear. 

"It's tonight babe," he murmured.

"Yes!" her sparkling eyes spoke volumes.

They have planned it well since last week ago, they will be attending Halloween Party in the neighboring city.

They choose to attend a Halloween Party organized by a local club in a nearby city. It's a public Halloween Party in the Plaza, anyone can join.

They will go as a vampire couple. 

Jess's excitement was already reaching fever pitch. She already ordered online one sexy eye mask for her since she does not want to cover her entire face, and one skull printed face mask for Adam, her purchases were already delivered last two days ago.

She can't wait for the night to come, she's so excited to go out and explore again the world outside.

She pulled Adam's hands towards the stairs...

"Come," she whispered to him.

"What is it, Jess?"

"I will show you something..."

After they entered her room, she immediately opened the two box lying at the top of her bed, she picked up the colored red sexy eye mask and put it on her face. She gave the black skull face mask to Adam. 

"Try it!" she said.

He donned the mask on his face and looked at the mirror. "Cool!"

She grinned. 

"I'm glad you like it!" she stood beside him, they were both looking at themselves in the mirror.

They liked what they saw...

"We're a perfect couple!" said Adam, admiring their face mask.

"Yeah. Now, we just wait for the night to come so that we can explore the world outside!" she squealed in glee. 

"Lol, your so excited, Jess!" he said, amused by her constant chatter.

"Of course, it's only during the night and special occasions we can go outside and mingle with the crowd. I am always looking forward to our great escapades," she smiled at him broadly.

"Okay. I will go to my room now and take a bath," he said. 

He headed for the door, holding the face mask in his right hand.

While waiting for the night to come...

Jessy opened her laptop and browse for world news. Same news...nothing new.

Hmmm, what else to browse...?

Then she typed 'Anti-Vampire Vaccine' in the search bar. Lot's of the article about anti-vampire vaccine popped out in the search engine. Then one article in the bottom caught her attention, she clicked it. The article contains information on how the chemists who invented the vampire vaccine vanished on the face of the earth one year after he invented the vaccine. During that time, there was a wild speculation circulating around the media that he was abducted by vampires and was killed for revenge. The body of the chemist was never found, he was archived as a missing person until today. To all vampires, he was their destroyer and to all human beings, he was a hero.

Jessy, can't make up her mind if he's a hero or an enemy, she shook her head.

She stood up and went inside her bathroom for a bath.

After she was done with her bath, she browsed for more information about the Anti-Vampire Vaccine.

Dinner time...

Dishes prepared by Nana Aida was always been delicious, they had Creamy Broccoli Potato Soup, Baked Teriyaki Chicken and Honey Roasted Carrots for dinner.

Time flies quickly, it's already 10:00 in the evening...
 
Jessy prepared her black ensemble attire along with the cloak and the face mask in her bed. She began donning them on her body one by one, after a few minutes, she's already done. She checked her appearance in the mirror: perfect! The face mask covers the upper half of her face, leaving her nose and mouth bare.

Adam suddenly entered her room and stared at Jessy from head to toe...

"Oh...You're gorgeous, Jess!" he mumbled. 

She smiled at him.

"Is Nana sleeping already?" 

"She just turned off her bedroom light a few minutes ago. We will leave by 10:30, I will go now and prepare myself," said Adam

He exited her room swiftly.

Fifteen minutes later...

He's back...fully clothed with his black ensembles. His skull face mask covered his entire face.

"Great!" she said.

"Ready?" 

She nodded.

Adam pulled Jess' into his body and he teleported themselves into the Plaza. 

They arrived to a festive atmosphere in the heart of the city. 

Many people already gathered in the Plaza. 

There was an ongoing costume contest, pumpkin carving contest, scary spider race, and Spider ring hunt contest. A booth for fortune and Tarot card reading was situated at the corner. All kinds of kiddie contest was also held on the left side of the Plaza. 

Adult and kids mingled with one another and they were having so much fun. 

The adult costumes were outrageous and flamboyant, some men donned Dracula, Vampire, Batman, Spiderman and other superhero costumes. While the women donned Wonder woman, Sleeping Beauty, Cat woman, Little Mermaid, Naughty Nurse, Dragon lady, Red Riding Hood and so many more. The kids also wore cute costumes appropriate for their age.

The multitude different colors of the costumes were a feast to the eyes. 

There were many fun activities to do and anyone can join, no one will feel bored.

Jessy can't stop herself from grinning. She looked at Adam's face, she doesn't know if he was enjoying or feeling bored.

The loud music blaring from the speaker's sound system in the middle of the Plaza was deafening.

"Are you enjoying the party?" she yelled at him.

"Very much, Jess," he shouted back.

They joined the crowd, holding each other's hands.

A few minutes later...they took a stroll away from the crowd...they somehow ended themselves in a far corner...somewhere...where a large old Victorian house loomed few meters away from where they were standing. The gate was tall...they can't see anything from the outside.

"What's in there?" asked Jessy.

"Dunno, maybe just an old house, probably a deserted one," Adam replied nonchalantly. 

Jess' eyes twinkled with mischief. "I want to see a ghost! Come on, let's see what's inside!" 

Adam laughed. "Aye...Madam."

They teleported inside the tall gate, their feet landed softly on the grass inside the lawn.

They saw cars in front and at the back of the house, probably a hundred of them. Majority of the cars were luxury cars such as Bugatti, Ferrari, Lexus LS, Bently Flying Spur, Rolls Royce Phantom, Mercedes Maybach, and many others.

The outside of the house was so quiet...they have not seen a single soul in the lawn. 

'Where are the owners of these luxury cars?' Puzzled...Adam asked himself.

"Wow, nice cars!" Jessy murmured to herself. She had never seen so many expensive cars gathered in one place.

"Where are the owners?" he said aloud.

"Probably they are inside, let's investigate," she said in a hushed voice.

Adam holds Jess' hands and they teleported inside the house.

They landed in the living room of the house, it's quite large, the light was dim...they hardly see anything...then when their eyes were already accustomed to the dim light, they were shocked to see what is currently happening around them, they were in the middle of the living room...surrounded by half-naked women and men, fondling each others naked bodies...they can literally heard their moaning echoing in the air around them.

The naked men and women were so engrossed with what they were doing that they completely ignored the newcomers staring at them.

Jessy was shocked!

Her eyes widened, mouth wide open...she was totally stunned! She quickly covered her mouth and her eyes.

Adam grinned beneath his masked. "Interesting!" he whispered to her ears.

He pulled Jessy along with him to a dark corner, a few meters away from the naked crowd.

"Let's joined them," he said grinning.

"W-whaaaat...? Are you crazy!?" she hissed between gritted teeth.

Adam unceremoniously devoured her mouth to her utter amazement.

Then she was being gently pushed back to the wall, Adam straddled her legs into his waist. His slippery tongue comes down to her neck.

"WTF?" Jess almost choked on her saliva. Am not gonna lose my virginity in this filthy place! she thought to herself.

"Adam, take me home now or else I will scream!" she whispered in a firmed voice.

Adam chuckled. "Calm down, Jess. Am just teasing you. Alright...Let's go home now!"

A moment later...they were back in the mansion. They landed on Jess' bed.

Adam's naughty laughter filled the whole room.

What the heck! She still can't believe what she just saw in that old house...?

"What just happened in there-?" she asked Adam.

"They were having an orgy party in that old house," he replied still grinning.

Jessy frowned...

"What does an orgy mean?" she asked curiously.

Adam shook his head. "Nah, am not gonna tell you. Just forget what you saw tonight. And don't search that specific word online, okay?" he warned her.

Then he kissed her nose and her lips gently. "Goodnight, Jess." 

He left the room whistling...

The early evening of Halloween began actively.
As celebrated to ward off evil spirits, from every street to all households, buildings and billboards heightened the spooky touch to its visitants. People allowed the mischief night to play pranks on each other.
Hollowed-out pumpkins lit by candles hung everywhere, little kids dressed up as monsters, ghosts, and beautiful witches roamed with their parents. Meanwhile, the enthusiastic adults who took the tradition seriously ended up wearing hideous costumes to scare everyone.
The boisterous city of New York, known for its global popularity, did not fail to attract visiting tourists to play in its dungeon.
Everyone soaked into the city's passion and had a great time.
Meanwhile, Giselle seems to struggle with a sulking child.
"Lia, listen to me! You have to do this. It'll be fun. I promise," Giselle begged, standing outside Lia's room.
Without her father, Ethan, who is a resident candidate and partner in crime with whom Lia went trick or treating every past year, the child refused to take part this time and remained stuck to her bed.
The new place and new environment also added to her fears of going out to meet new people. Giselle promised to accompany, but since it is the first time she would participate, Lia doubted her mother's company.
"Please, mom, I don't wish to go without daddy," Lia grieved from the missing absence. Living in the states already began to influence her to its way of communication. Little by little, Lia started to lose her British sound as the American slang is gently getting stronger.
Giselle tried confronting to boost her courage, but the kid would not submit.
"Sweetie, it is going to be fun. I will be there with you! I even prepared costumes for you," Giselle begged.
She tried to lure her child by revealing the costumes prepared beforehand. Her plan successfully worked in sparking an interest to the disinterested child, and Lia took a daring glance at the colorful clothes displayed to her sight.
"Lia, your father asked me to send him a picture of your costume," Giselle said, forcing the child to the edge.
Lia's straying gaze returned to seek her mother's words.
Until now, she never thought of her father anticipating for a picture of her in her Halloween costume. As if enlightened finally, Lia appeared more cleared in her head. Now, she took a focused look at the options open to her.
Out of all three displays, Lia lastly found her favorite.
'A long Victorian Vampire gown with a dramatic stand-up collar. Wearing this bloodsucker costume could be a fun choice for the night. Lia picked the red dress to examine its lacework, admiring the cute frills galloping below the waistband, short sleeves with long black tulle, etc.'
Impressed with its intricate details, Giselle signaled her to try.
Lia hesitates at first, but with another gentle push, the mother managed to get her daughter moving.

The late evening finally began for Lia and Giselle, where Lia dressed as a little vampire was acting shy to play pranks for anybody. Giselle did not dress up for the event but chose to wear black to go along with her daughter's attire. 
"Let's take a photo in this costume and send it to father! We don't have to go trick or treating!" Lia suggested. Her British tone subjugates the growing American slang when she gets too nervous.
Giselle ignored. She requested Lia not to give up as her father won't like the attitude. Lia admits to the bitterness, and the two then went around the building.
By the time they returned to their apartment, Lia had her bin filled with several candies. She regretted slightly for skipping a few doors, but it was honest fun.
Giselle praised her bravery. At first, Lia exhibited shyness in speaking to strangers. She got reminded of going with her father, who would initiate the trick, and Lia joins him shortly to make a successful attempt. Without her father there, Lia appeared extremely concerned to talk. However, noticing her withdrawal, Giselle filled the absence of Ethan with her presence. She greeted the people warmly, which would ease the child to do her best. After a few successful attempts, the little one grew comfortable.
Finally, returning home, Lia released her pant in joy. She still felt proud of her candy collection and unwrapped a random one as a reward for her effort.
Giselle made sure to snap pictures in her camera. She already made a promise to Ethan to send him the photos of Lia in her Halloween costume.
Little Lia, after two or three candies, posed for her mother in her outfit with a big, happy smile on her face.
As the two indulged in their private photo session, they heard someone at the door.
Giselle paused the photoshoot to answer and found a surprise guest.
"Call Lia," one of the guests whispered, and Giselle obeyed.
When Lia came running, she saw somewhat an eccentric duo, standing as they held each other close.
The man and the woman appear tall and bathed in white skin.
With a thick mustache and sleek hair, the jolly man looked optimistic and in full enthusiasm. He wore a black suit and had a dark grin in his face as he stared back at the child.
In fear, Lia hid behind her mother, slightly peeking out to recognize them, if it's possible.
"Lia?" Giselle called as she sensed the child lurking behind her back.
"Come out, it's uncle Jake and aunty Anna," she said politely, and only then did Lia appeared out to see their painted faces.
Her eyes immediately widened in surprise, and Jake, having addressed as Lia's uncle, took pride to bend and give a hearty hug to a little one.
"Look at you, dressed up as a vampire!" Jake commented on her look. Meanwhile, Anna greeted Giselle with a soft squeeze.
"Come on in," she invited the surprise guest inside their dwelling.
"Thank god, finally, a home," Anna exclaimed, "You know Jake doesn't allow it and he goes to an extent to decorate our house with his creepy dolls and caricatures during Halloween. I never thought I would be scared of my own home!" she added to explain.
Giselle listened. She revealed that only Lia's father took the role actively to play while she doesn't bother with frills as well.
Serving them with drinks, Jake had Lia on his lap when she soon escaped his embrace to collect her candy bin. She returned to give each one of her candy for scaring her triumphantly.
Jake and Anna beamed, receiving the fruity candy. Moved by her gesture, Jake couldn't wait any longer, and he revealed her present for dressing up: more chocolate boxes! Anna warned Giselle to keep an eye as it was a  large box for an eight-year-old.
After a brief chat, Giselle inquired about their surprise visit, and Anna explained it not only to celebrate Halloween, but there was another reason for their coming. Giselle wondered while Lia admired the huge chocolate box.
"We are here to invite you and Lia to our thanksgiving dinner," Anna said.

Jake drove Anna through the thick traffic where cars moved an inch every minute.
"We should have thought about it, Anna. It's a rush hour and a holiday. People are going crazy," Jake groaned as his nerves popped on his forehead in unrest. Anna, listening to her Halloween playlist, looked ignorant of Jake's cry and watched the outside view in the awe.
Jake shortly retired from complaining, and he focused on how to get to their destination faster.
After two hours of slow drive and an almost empty fuel tank, they reach the spot and park their car to visit.
Taking the lift, Anna and Jake joined another group, dressed for the party. They looked at the couple with strange eyes, but since it is a day that allows playing mischief, the strangers overlooked to the craziness and praised their looks.
Reaching the twelfth floor, slightly sighing from the prolonged tour, Jake worked himself to appear excited as he and his wife walked outside of the elevator.
"Hey, kid! Where are you going?" a boy wearing, Sullivan the monster costume, shouted.
Jake and Anna's attention fell on a bunch of kids in a group in the hallway. The two staring at each other paused to overhear their conversation as they seem to face the direction of the place, the visitors are heading for to meet.
"Treat or treating!" the kid who dressed up as batman replied.
"You have to refrain from that spot!" the rest of the kids answered in chorus, pointing at the direction.
The new kid froze in fear of not knowing the reason. He raised his doubts and eventually received an answer.
"No one goes trick or treating to that place because the person who lives there hates it and yells if disturbed. You should take the other side of this floor," the boy who wore a zombie disguise said, and they all soon left together, scouting the new kid to new spots for more candies and fun.
Jake and Anna watched the kids running to the other side of the hallway, ringing the bell of the first house they discover. When the door got answered, they all acted to their characters, receiving more sweets.
"Banned from trick or treating!" Jake exclaimed at his wife with questioning eyebrows.
"She used to love dressing up for this when we were kids," Anna sighed aloud.
Jake's look almost doubted the words of his wife, and Anna expressed herself strongly to prove, also adding more details to her memory.
"At first, she used to dress up as funny characters, but ever since learning the meaning behind celebrating Halloween, she got serious and made bloody choices to her selection every year. She would be so terrifying that we would scream and refuse to go trick or treating with her."
"However, things became completely different now. Lillian hates these events, and are you sure we are doing it- like this?" Jake pointed out.
"She can hate it very well, but not us. Let's go," Anna urged.
Jake stopped her in the middle of knocking on the doorbell.
"Let's not mention the place we just visited," he said.
Confused from his sudden decision, Anna looked perplexed.
"Why?" she asked.
"If we say, then chances are there that Lillian would come up with an excuse in the last minute to ditch us. Let's not tell her and let it be a surprise. She could come and meet Giselle on the spot. If she happens to run away, we can get hold of her. You don't want her to bunk this dinner, do you?" Jake sounded sincere and thoughtful that Anna agreed instantly to his valid judgment.
They pressed the bell and waited.
There came no answer to it.
Pressing it again for the second time and patiently waiting, still there came no response.
The running kids stopped to stare at them cautiously and even suggested leaving that house.
Nonetheless, Anna, now clearly angered, destroyed the doorbell by smashing it nonstop, and finally, it got answered.
"I said don't disturb me, you little devils," Lillian shouted as she opened the door, anticipating a bunch of kids in their sleazy costumes and lame impressions.
However, to her surprise, it was never kids, but two adults who still behaved like kids.
Glancing them from top to bottom, Lillian expressed her discontent.
"Is this supposed to be a prank?" she said.
"Why?" Jake cried.
"Jake, you are too tall for dressing up as Gomez Addams and-" Lillian said to glance at her dear friend, Anna, "- and you're supposed to be, what? Morticia Addams!" she guessed.
"Everyone thinks of Romeo and Juliet when it comes to a passionate romance, but we stan the Addams family. Gomez and Morticia are the best spooky couple!" Anna states proudly.
Playing right into their tale, Lillian Grey asked about the Addams kids, Wednesday and Pugsley. Startled from hearing the word kids, Anna flinched. However, Jake stood steady, bringing her closer to him.
"Wednesday and Pugsley will soon arrive," he replied confidently.
Lillian's face froze from hearing, and not giving her a second to ponder, Jake added more, "Not that we have an announcement right now, but-" the guy stuttered, "we- we will work hard to c-r-e-a-t-e- them!"
Jake heard as he said, and his face flushed from his choice of words. He couldn't spare a look at Anna as he could feel the heat radiating from her body.
"Bingo! Trick or treat!" Jake suddenly yelled, and the couple allowed themselves inside and immediately dispersed to a hideout.
Lillian saw to find the other end of the hallway packed with a group of kids, happily playing and having a good time.
Without her knowledge, she thought of Lia and imagined how she spent her Halloween. Then it hits that she doesn't have Giselle's number or knew the place she was staying with her child.
The very thought brought tension and added pressure. Nevertheless, the appearance of these two took priority, and Lillian went back inside to shut the door locked.
Crossing the foyer, Lillian saw the two already feeling extremely comfortable with the place.
Anna was storming the refrigerator while Jake sat on the couch, spreading his legs on the table and joining to watch whatever show was already airing.
"Why are you two here? Shouldn't you have had a party at your place with all guests and friends?" Lillian asked, agitated from their intrusion.
"You are also friend- like family, if I say so," Jake replied, and his eyes still set on the television.
"You suck! There is no candy in this house, not even spare ones. It's fine if you don't celebrate Halloween, but not having chocolates-" Anna expired resentfully and closed the door hard that it made a loud noise.
"Be careful not to break it," Lillian growled.
Anna left to join her husband, and the two watched the ongoing special documentary on crocodiles.
"What the hell! Change it to something, Jake," Anna said, and Jake operated the remote on her command.
Lillian had enough of these two having fun trespassing her place.
She went and stood in front, blocking the Halloween exclusive program that Jake chose to watch.
"Why are you guys here?" she asked again.
"Move," Anna tried to push Lillian, but it did not work.
Following many attempts to ward off this evil, Anna still couldn't succeed. She finally yields to her failure.
"Alright! We came to invite you to our Thanksgiving dinner!" Anna said and now exerted a force to push. She succeeds, and Lillian breaks away from their sight.
She wondered if it was the only reason for their visit, or is there something suspicious going on behind her back. She questioned her fears and received an offhanded, laid-back response.
"You guys always call me a few days before the actual dinner. So why the unexpected call is what I would like to know! We almost have another month to go before Thanksgiving!" Lillian challenged again.
"Are you implying that we aren't allowed to visit you?" Jake asked, hopefully baiting her to fall out of concerning herself with unnecessary qualms.
"No."
"Then?" Jake exclaimed.
Unable to get a rule over these two favorite people, Lillian looked away, "Whatever," she whispered.
"Do you guys want something to drink?"
"We are crashing at your place, so, yes to alcohol!" the two sang together to piss off their dear friend and the resident.
"Is being here at my place is so much fun?" Lillian asked in disgust.
"Yes." the couple sang again.
Lillian made drinks for her guest, and while at it, she raised a few more questions.
"Did you call Diego too already?" she asked.
Anna panicked. They did visit him first before heading to Giselle, but having convinced Giselle already bothered Anna to lie to her friend.
"We- we are just coming from his place!" Jake stepped in to assist his panicking wife.
The answer did not raise more suspicion, and Lillian went to join them as they watched the movie, chattered in-between while sipping the drinks, and ordered pizza for a late-night snack, and ate together.
When Anna started to doze, Lillian signaled Jake to take her to the room upstairs. Jake, feeling the fatigue, thanked Lillian for letting them crash here and carried his wife carefully to Lillian's room.
"It appears that I have to crash here again!" Lillian moaned and changed the channel to the documentary and saw it ended already.
With nothing else to capture her interest, she switched off the entertainment. Lying on the couch, she thought of the unusual invitation to the dinner. Part of her hoped if Anna is playing behind her back, but it seems too dramatic to believe. Working her mind exhausted her finally, and she slept off in the same place.

 Brandy lifted her silk green dress with her matching green gloved hands as she made her way up the steps to the Chandler building. She took each step carefully, not wanting to get anything on the dress before entering the ballroom. She decided to go as Princess Tiana; she'd fallen in love with her ever since she watched the movie. Brandy loved that Tiana was a go-getter and didn't need a Prince to make her dreams come true, just like she didn't need Anthony anymore. Good riddance.
Evie walked next to Brandy, dressed up as Sailor Moon. Hero had been ignoring her for almost a week now, so she couldn't do a couples' costume. At first, she was fine with going as Sailor Moon, but once she arrived and seen couples costumes she was pissed. Tonight she wanted answers from Hero on his whereabouts and why she could never get in contact with him. The girls kept reassuring her that Hero couldn't possibly know about her and Mr. Morton, that he is probably busy with school work. But Evie knew deep down Hero knows something and just haven't let on, just yet.
"Hey, you go inside, I'll catch up with you shortly." Brandy said while her phone ranged, and that ringtone only belonged to one person. Brandy walked briskly down the hallway. "Hello." She answered annoyed.
"How long do I have to wait in this stupid van?"
"Not long--I have to announce the winner of the contest and then you can make your big entrance." Brandy leaned up against a locker. "Why do you have somewhere to be?"
"No, but I don't want to be stuck in this van for hours on end."
"You won't Sierra." Brandy ended the call just as Anthony came strolling down the hallway. He stopped mid-stride and looked nervous. Brandy opened her mouth to say something, but Lucy came around the corner calling after him. Anthony looked at Lucy and then Brandy. He knew coming dressed as a couple with Lucy was pushing it, but Brandy hasn't shown him that it was bothering her. Not wanting to be anywhere near the sickening couple Brandy about-faced to the ballroom. Anthony had another thing coming his way if he thought Brandy was going to let him embarrass her.
Brooke arrived with Brandon, dressed as the Thundercats. She wasn't a fan of the face paint, but she had to pull off the costume and had to do it the right way. Brandon complained about seven times of not wanting to wear a bodysuit, but since he agreed there was no going back. Brooke decided he could put on jeans not because he complained, he just wasn't a small guy and Brandy would have her ass for that.
"Who is the DJ?" Brandon scoffed as Fifth Harmony's I'm In Love With A Monster blared through the speakers.
"This is a Halloween party. There will be Halloween themed music, duh." Brooke rolled her eyes, however, she did agree with him. She felt the song was a bit too childish to play at a party as well. "Look, when you see Daniel just be all over me like we planned okay. Don't overdo it because then he will know that I'm doing it to get him jealous."
Brandon cut his eyes at her. "But isn't that what we're doing?"
"Yes, but he doesn't need to know that. Sheesh! I see why Brandy keeps you away from us. You're like an airhead." Brooke rolled her eyes walking off. "Just find me when you see him," she said over her shoulder. Brooke walked around the party trying to find at least one of her best friends, Brandy turned the corner almost knocking her over. "Hey, where's the fire?" she teased.
"In the hallway. Anthony and Lucy must've been making out in one of the classrooms." Brandy nose flared.
"You wanna burn her at the stake? I hear that's the only way to really kill a witch." Brooke wanted nothing more to get rid of Anthony and Lucy for making Brandy look like a fool. However, rules are rules. The "hurt party" must clearly state word from word they wish the guilty person or persons would just go away. And just like that, they all would know what to do. Brooke wondered why Brandy hasn't uttered those words yet.
"No, I want to handle those two on my own time. Tonight is about letting loose and having a great time." Brandy smiled. "And you look stunning, pussycat."
"I'm a Thundercat. You know the old school cartoon and your brother is Lion-O."
Brandy gave her a look. "I know. I just wish you would have asked me first. I know how Daniel is and I don't want him and Brandon having any problems. I get you two love this whole twisted game, but if my brother ends up hurt, missing or dead. I'll kill you both." Brandy winked at her. Brooke reassured her no harm would come to Brandon if he stuck to the script and even if he didn't, still no harm would come his way. She prayed it won't come down to it.
Brooke scanned the room, taking in everyone's costumes. People Brooke and Brandy half-recognized wore over the top costumes or freaky makeup. Either way, Brooke felt like she was the best dressed there. Brandy elbowed her and gestured towards the entrance. Brooke rolled her eyes as her step-brother walked into the ballroom, not even wearing a costume. He was dressed in his casual clothes. Black distressed jeans, formfitting white t-shirt with a red flannel over it. Typical Nick, Brooke thought.
"If you will excuse me," Brooke walked off before Brandy could respond. Nick's eyebrows almost disappeared in his hair as he took in Brooke's costume or lack thereof. "What are you doing here?" Brooke crossed her arms over her chest.
"My school is invited, you do know that." He flicked her nose. "Nice costume." He looked her up and down, slowly.
"Just because your school was invited doesn't mean you losers really had to come. And speaking of losers, where's Octavia?" Brooke looked behind him.
"I don't know, some guy dressed as the Joker wanted to see her since she dressed up as Harley Quinn--"
Brooke's eye twitched.
Daniel has managed to get under her skin once again.
"And you just let her?" Brooke said through gritted teeth.
"I don't see why that would be a problem. They probably want to win that stupid contest. It's not like I care about the damn girl. I just like to toy with you." He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Brooke slapped his hand away and side-stepped him.
"Don't touch me. I have to go." She made an about-face and went back to Brandy, who was watching them like a hawk. It was strange knowing Brooke had a step-brother and never shared anything with the girls. That's what made Brandy more intrigued that Brooke was actually good at hiding secrets from her. "I think I'm going to puke." Brooke huffed.
"Your brother--"
"Step-brother." She corrected her.
"Right," Brandy playfully rolled her eyes. "Your step-brother seems quite fond of you. Did you two do the deed?"
"As if. Nick is disgusting and I've always prayed for his little guy to fall off. He was the worst ever, growing up. A chapter in a book I closed a long time."
Brandy nodded. "And I--"
Brooke whipped her head around to see what caught Brandy by surprise. Alexa walked in dressed as Wilma and next to her as Fred Flintstones was none other than Hero Wade. They weren't the only two shocked to see those two dressed as a couple. A few girls started to whisper near the punch bowl. Brandon cleared his throat, looking over at Joshua and Chris. Everyone seemed to be thinking the same thing. What the hell is going on?
Brooke looked back at Brandy. "Where is Evie? She is going to flip her lid."
"I don't know, last time I saw her I told her to go inside. I'll call her." Brandy glanced around the room one more time; everyone was whispering about Alexa and Daniel. "I'll be back." She exited through the side door. "Where are you?" Brandy spoke calmly on the phone, not wanting to give anything away.
"Almost there."
"Where did you sneak off to?" Brandy asked.
"I had to run back to my room and change. I didn't like my costume. Have you seen Mr. Morton by any chance? Is he there?" Evie wanted to make sure tonight went smoothly. If the Gods were in her favor, Mr. Morton would get what was coming to him. It took her three hours to set up her master plan, and then she had to get cleaned and re-changed for the party. "Hello?"
"Uh, yeah--I think he was chatting with Mrs. Cooper. Why?"
"I just need to talk to him. You know to end things once and for all. I should really focus on Hero and I think tonight would be the night. I guess he earned." Evie walked up the stairs to the Chandler building, she needed to change costumes because a bloody sailor moon would raise red flags. Also, if she remembered correctly Hero would be dressed as Mr. Freeze, and she would be his sexy Poison Ivy.
"Where are you? I can hear the music in the background." Brandy walked back inside, looking around frantic. Brooke rushed to her side.
"What's up? Did you call her?" Brooke asked.
Brandy moved the phone from her ear, whispering that Evie was in the building.
"What the hell is this?!" Evie looked confused as she walked up to Alexa and Daniel. Brandy and Brooke walked quickly towards them. Joshua, Brandon, and Chris not far behind them.
This wasn't the kind of Halloween party Brandy was hoping for.
Nick watched the group of friends' crowd around one another and whispered-yell at each other. If he knew this Academy was so damn interesting he would have transferred here last year. He pulled a mini bottle out his pants pocket, scanned the crowd before he took a sip of the whiskey. 
"Hey, what's going on other there?" Octavia snuggled up against him. She wasn't sure why Daniel wanted her to wear a Harley Quinn outfit, but with Nick wanting to dress up she thought hey why not.
"Drama. But from what I can see... Poison Ivy doesn't think Wilma should be with Fred. If there is a catfight I have to record it. These people are so stuck here. Who gets upset over costumes?" Nick scoffed taking another sip from his bottle. Octavia looked closely and noticed they weren't just anyone.
"Actually, Poison Ivy and Wilma are best friends and it looks like Wilma has been hooking up with Fred, who also happens to be Poison Ivy's boyfriend." She explained.
"Rich people problems." He shrugged. "Do you want to get out of here? My friend is throwing a real Halloween party twenty minutes from here, and they have liquor."
Octavia's brown eyes, sparkled with excitement to hear the word liquor, but she promised Daniel she would stay all night or until they announce the best costume couple. "We can go after they announce the winner." She pouted and Nick couldn't take his eyes off of her. Her lips, had red lipstick smeared giving her the perfect disgruntle Harley Quinn look. Nick sighed and told her one hour, and then he is gone, with or without her. "I'll be right back, I want to say hi." Octavia excused herself to see what was really going on.

Jia Min has been having a hard time for the past week, apparently, the lass couldn't find a costume that she wanted or caught her attention that she was going to wear for the party tonight.


As she stood infront of her open closet, someone opened the door causing her to be startled and turn around only to see her mother walk inside before putting neatly folded clothes on the bed. Jia Min looked at the clothes and grinned cheekily as she spoke, "Thanks Ma."


Her mother only smiled as she looked around before heading out of the room with a soft sigh.


Jia Min went over to the bed and unfolded the clothes that was placed down on it only to find out that it was a beautiful white dress.


It was simple, but classy and elegant looking. She held it up to examine it a bit more. It wasn't entirely white and actually had a silverish tone as the main dress had a very thin layer of see-through silk. It's a off-shoulder dress that reaches three inch below of her knee, with a black ribbon around it's waistline, the offshoulder part has fancy-looking ruffles in them.


And then that's when she thought, 'This would be perfect for tonight's party. I don't need any extravagant costumes, I can just be a Princess or something.. I'm pretty sure I have a tiarra here somewhere that I used before.'


Jia Min then gently placed the dress back down before proceeding back to her closet, she squatted down and pulled out two boxes from under and opened them.


On the first box, were a few accessories; she picked out a plain gold necklace and earrings. Then on the second box, were photo albums and journals but what lays on top of it was a silver-white tiarra with sapphire blue stones aligned it's base.


"This is perfect." She mutters to herself excitedly.


Oh what would she do without her mother, she thinks. Before hurriedly rushing to the bathroom after seeing that it was almost 8PM.. The party starts at 9PM.

8:43 PM.


The clock reads as Jia Min just finished prepping up for everything. She had already wore her dress, the accessories, and even put on a bit of make-up.. but she wasn't satistified somehow.

"What's missing..." she grumbled to herself as she stared at the mirror.


She wanted to go for a simple but classy look but it seems too plain for her.


Then that's when she had an idea. "A Princess who got into an accident.." She beamed to herself before grabbing two shades of red lipstick, one bright and the other one dark.. along with her eyeshadow pallette.


It only took her a few minutes to finish her masterpiece on herself. With the lipsticks, and a dark brown pencil-liner she used it to make fake blook smears on parts of her face and some of her clothes—she thought that her mother might have a hard time washing it off but decided that the dress will only be used for tonight. With the eyeshadows, she made fake bruises on her arms and her legs and a little bit near her right temple where there was a fake blood that looked like they were about to drip down. She ended up making her hair look disheveled and settled them in place with a hairspray.


As she was finally satisfied, she took one more glance at the time...


8:50PM


"Alright, I'm off." She smiled to herself before rushing outside, yelling out to her parents saying, "I'll be home before 12!"

At the Lu's Manor.


Teenagers could be found here and there—in every corner of the backyard, you will be able to find mostly chatting, having fun trying to spook one another with their costumes, some are flaunting about how great their costumes are, while some are just sharing a good laugh over drinks.


Jia Min has just arrived, she was only a little 7 minutes late but it seems like everyone has been there for a long time already.


As she made her way inside, she greeted some people only to be ignored resulting to her to pout in a sulky manner before craning her neck to look for her close friends.


She spotted them near the stage and excitedly squeezed herself in the midst of the other teenagers to get to them.


"Hey guy—" she was about to greet them but was cutted off as the main host of the party, Lu Zhou spoke up in the mic.


He stood in the middle of the stage with a solemn smile as he let his gaze roam around. "Good evening everyone. May I get your attention please?"


Everyone focused on him including Jia Min.


The blaring music that was booming from the speakers were turned down by the DJ.


Zhou cleared his throat as he continued, "I would like to thank you all for being able to come tonight. But I would first want everyone to acknowledge someone who helped me organize this whole thing... as we all know this isn't just a plain halloween costume party but also supposedly our reunion party... with out old elementary and middleschool classmates and friends!"


The others cheered and Zhou went on, "So that someone... that we should acknowledge and thank for this event to be possible is none other than Liu Jia Min." he introduced.


Jia Min was confused, "What..?" she grumbled but nonetheless was about to step on up the stage as she felt that she should do so since she was called but as she took a step forward, she noticed how no one was cheering like how they should be normally when it was about acknowledgement.


She looked around.


The teenagers who were all having fun and all smiles earlier had an unreadable expression on their faces.. but their eyes all shared the same emotion—sadness.


Zhou sighed in the microphone as he contibued, "Jia Min, our precious friend and sister who got into an unfortunate accident four days has passed."


"WHAT?" Jia Min finally screamed in shock.


What accident?


Passed away?


Who was Zhou kidding? She was standing right here!



Jia Min finally stepped up on the stage platform and spun Zhou around harshly in confusion and slight anger.


Zhou was shocked and then his face was filled with disgust and disappointment as he stared at her. "Who are... How... How dare you?"


"Why are you asking me? I should be asking you? How dare you say such things!" Jia Min was furious.


Gasps and whispers echoed allthroughout. The music was turned off. Then it went silent.


So silent that Jia Min felt so much pressure because of it.


"No.. How dare you come in here? How dare you... co-come in here dressed as our precious Jia Min?" Zhou spat as he took a step back as he looked at the person in front of him with a frown.


"Who is she?"

"Why is she wearing the same clothes as Jia Min that day?"

"How disrespectful is this for the dead..."

"Of all things she can wear, why would she come like our deceased friend?"

"Who the hell is she?"



Jia Min heard these. She was lost. Confused. Agitated for not knowing what was going on.


Just then she looked down on her hands and feet as she felt herself feeling rather cold... very cold.


There were blood. Lots and lots of blood. Her eyes widened, this isn't how she made herself look like earlier.


Her clothes were dirty. Patched of dark red and soil were evident.


The ends of her dress were slightly dripping with red—blood.


Her clothes were also torn at some places.


Her right arm hurt so much.


Her head hurts as well and she feels herself getting very dizzy.


She looks up again to look at Zhou's face but what she sees instead is nothing.


Her surroundings were suddenly pitched black.


Jia Min screamed in fear out of the blue as something white materialized infront of her that ended up looking like a sinister man with a creepy smile.


The man had no eyes, all Jia Min can see was dark sockets with blood gushing out of it down the wrinkly face.


"You got to your so-called party, my lady.. Now it's time to go." The man spoke in a manner that felt like something was scratching on glass. The voice was very painful for her ears that made her shut her eyes.


She shook her head violently while covering her ears. "This is just..  j-just a bad dream.. This is a bad dream.. Wake up.." she whimpered to herself.


The man frowned and without Jia Min opening her eyes, she suddenly felt a hand wrap around her neck.


Her eyes shot open and the man grinned at her again.


"Don't go back to your words. We had a deal." He said and suddenly he opened his mouth.


Jia Min screamed again in horror. The man's face got even more distorted as his mouth was ripped opened before black liquid was sprayed all over her— and then that's when she felt her conciousness slip away.

Four days ago...


It was raining violently, the skies were already dark. As the winds were gushing around with much force, Jia Min was walking down the sidewalk wearing a white dress that was already slightly soaked.


She was clutching on her umbrella with squinted eyes to see properly as the rain seemed to be to thick and heavy that it was making her hard to see as she tried to walk properly without slipping. She had just finished personally sending out invitations to some of their old friends in the neighboring city.


Jia Min was going home and was planning to hail a cab but there were no vacant ones. Apparently a lot of people are in a rush to get home too to get away from the storm. She was going to just ask her parents to pick her up but apparently her phone's battery died already.


With no choice, Jia Min was heading towards the bus stop three blocks away on foot.


As she was walking, the thought of the party being a success was making her feel giddy.


Zhou, her bestfriend and her had planned for this event for quite a while now as a type of reunion for them and their old friends and classmatea whom they lost in touch with as they entered High school.


She was busy thinking to herself that she didn't hear the sound of a horn honking aggressively.


She only took noticed until two blinding lights flashednat her eyes before being followed by a loud crash.



Jia Min was hit by a car. Her body flew meters back from where she was walking before having her head hit one of the lamp posts.


The car lost control over it's breaks, the driver was having a hard time seeing the path because of the heavy rain and when he took a sharp turn, he didn't realize about how slippery the road has gotten. Resulting for Jia Min's accident.



Jia Min was now standing by her almost disfigured body that lay by the post, blood was gushing out of her head, and her arm, staining her white dress.


Jia Min had horror written all over her face and was about to break down. 'That's what happened... this..' She thought only to scream in pain as a loud shrieking laughter of the creepy man from before echoed in her ears.



The man appeared next to her and placed a wrinkly hand on her shoulder.


"Our deal..." The man cooed in an eerie manner.


"No... N-No.. Please no... I didn't—" Jia Min cried and her surroundings went black again as she stared at the man.


"We had a deal." The Man sternly said.



"P-Please.. I didn't know what I was asking for.. Please no-" Jia Min whimpered only to be slapped harshly.


"You talk too much." The man sighed and bent down before grabbing Jia Min by her chin and forcing her mouth open. "The deal is a deal. And in addition for your impudence of reasoning that you regret it or something that you had no idea about what your asking? I'll be having these for my collection." He grinned.


Jia Min's tounge was cut off by the man's nails that seemed to have turned into claws. Jia Min wanted to scream in pain as she trashed violently but it was no use. Then the man clawed both of her eyeballs out of their sockets.


The man stared at the eyeballs in his hands before grinning... then he placed the said eyeballs inside his own sockets.


"There we go..." The man laughed happily to himself. He then stood up properly and grabbed Jia Min by her hair before dragging her with him. Suddenly a red door aeemed to have appeared in the black space, it opens to reveal Jia Min's room.


He walks in while dragging Jia Min with him who was whimpering in a muffled tone while trying to break free but was already growing weaker by the minute.



"A deal is a deal. Didn't anyone warn you about having deals with a devil?" The man cackled.


"Now, you're to bring me your friends soul along with their eyes for my collection hm? Try to go back on me and I'll have your parents instead... But wouldn't you like that? you'll be with your beloved parents~"


It was weird but Jia Min suddenly got her vision back, she was dragged up to stand by the man and was made to look at the mirror.


She looked the same as how she got out of the house to go to the party. But she couldn't speak.


"This Halloween Time for you foolish humans is the time when we along with a few of the dead are even stronger to be able to materialize our presence and roam around... Now, do as what I want to have you do. Get your friend's souls and eyes, and we'll be fine."

Fun Fact! I'm a fan of J-Pop, C-Pop, K-Pop, and Anime. There will surely be imagines about my OTPs from certain groups and biases/faves from any of the following stated.

Walking into school and seeing all the costumes, I feel like a kid, except for all the girls in skimpy clothes. Tempe for once doesn't stand out compared to the other costumes, even though her tight, little crayon dress does show off.
Arriana looks fabulous in her soft, flowing goddess dress and sparkling makeup. It takes a lot of me to not cover her with a jacket every time a guy looks at her. She looks great and is really happy, she has her hair curled perfectly and put on a body spray that makes her skin shimmer. She put a lot into this and it really paid off.
Zayne comes in in his robber outfit, black pants and a black turtle neck sweater. He has a black beanie over his pink hair and a cheap little mask covering his eyes, he just about drops when I come in in my cop costume, even though it's not as "sexy" as Arriana wanted, I have to admit I look damn good in it.
I pull him close, whispering in his ears, "Don't make me pull out my cuffs."
He turns beet red as Arriana gags and Tempe looks hopeful. I smile at his embarrassment, to see him get so shy and reserved is cute.
Arriana spends most of the day handing out candy from in her bag to classmates, she even slips her number to one of the guys who's been checking her out. Zayne snatches one of her lollipops and just stands next to her as the guy walks off.
"Eh, he's ok," he says titling his head, "His butt is shaped weird and I think he might be too tall for you. I'll bet his smells like sandalwood, he looks like a football player, they all smell like sandalwood."
She laughs as she smacks him in the shoulder, he smiles at her and bites the lollipop.
Tempe and Caira help fix each other's costumes before heading to class. Tempe needs her hat straightened so she actually looks like a sharpened crayon while Caira needs help adjusting her puffy blue Smurfette tutu. I don't get why girls feel the desire to dress revealing on Halloween but I guess it makes them happy.
The day drags on with teachers trying to be cool, Mr. Roe almost succeeds with a mad scientist like thing going on in the classroom and a day of mostly goofy science tricks and pranks. Zayne's English teacher almost pulls of Edgar Allen Poe but breaks character because one kid in his second period class kept playing a recording of a crow on his phone.
Lunch is fun as we all dig into Arriana's candy pile, basically making it disappear in under fifteen minutes. She frumps at us and rants about how she planned to use the candy to help flirt with the guy from earlier.
"Arriana, I think he's in my class," I explain with taffy in my mouth, "Meaning after this summer, he'll probably be far away at college."
"I can hope," she crosses her shimmery arms and pouts at us.
"Girl, I don't think you'll be needing any of this stuff when he's been looking at you like candy," Caira gestures to Arriana's costume and makeup.
"The only candy he'll be touching will be from a pillow sack," I snap.
Arriana gives me a hug, "I love you big brother, even if you are crazy."
I hug back and tell her I will arrest anyone who touches her, earning myself a major stink eye from her and Zayne.
"The only people in those handcuffs should be you and me, just saying," he looks me up and down and shakes his head at Arriana.
I lean in close, whispering so only he can hear, "I should handcuff you. You are a robber, after all, you stole my heart."
He smiles and takes my hand. He holds on so tight, my palm starts sweating.
And they say guys can't be romantic. I think I've gotten the hang of this relationship thing.
The mood at the table shifts when we hear kids at another table laughing, looking back we see they're laughing at us. Zayne pulls his hand away and puts his head down.
I shoot a glare back at the table behind us and they all shut up. I then try to get Zayne to cheer up again, saying they're jealous we have so much candy. I bribe him up with a grape Jolly Rancher, getting him to give a small half smile.
Arriana, Tempe, Caira, and I all try to keep things light and make Zayne laugh. He's been doing so well and I don't want a few jerks to ruin it. He stays a little reserved but engages in the conversation again until Lunch ends and we have to go our separate ways.
Tonight will help, because we'll get to just sit there and I can hold him every time he gets scared during a movie. In an attempt to guarantee him jumping and holding onto me, I insisted we watch The Possession. Arriana insisted we balance the horror with Nightmare Before Christmas, Zayne eagerly agreed with her.
As class drags on I want to get home more and more so I can get things ready for tonight, my mom is making Halloween snacks to help set the mood.
My parents are going to an adult Halloween party at Town Hall, leaving us teenagers to do our thing. I think it's a safe bet that tonight there won't be any "fooling around" on behalf of the terror everyone will be feeling.
Once school ends I rush home to pull out the scary cuddle night necessities. I pull out the extra comfy pillows from the guest room, glow sticks, some really soft blankets, the softest for me and Zayne because I'm greedy like that, some stuffed animals from Arriana's room for everyone to squeeze, and of course I pulled out the secret stash of candy bars for us to stress eat.
My mom babbles on about how nice it is that we're all friends and getting along enough to do this, and how she's happy Zayne's doing better.
"I don't know mom, we might scare him to a therapist tonight," I smile as she gives me a side glare, "I'm kidding."
She and dad get ready a couple hours later while Arriana and I put the snacks out. Arriana and Tempe picked up a bunch of soda at the dollar store before coming back to the house.
Tempe sits on the couch, "Who do you think will scream first, Zayne or Caira?"
We all look at each other, "I don't know, depends on what we watch first. If you want Zayne to scream first we should watch The Possession, he hates bugs and there's a ton in that movie."
"Caira is terrified of clowns, for her we'd need to watch It," Arriana contributes.
We rock-paper-scissors it and I win in a landslide, leaving Arriana to pout as she sets up the chairs. After everything is done we agree on a movie order and wait for Zayne and Caira to show up.
Caira appears first, also bring candy, specifically gummy spiders. I pull some aside to tease Zayne with. When he shows up we all settle in. Caira lays on her side on the floor while Tempe and Arriana take the two chairs and Zayne lays on my lap on the couch.
As the movies play, Zayne is the first to scream at the sight of bugs followed by Caira at the sight of a clown popping up. Arriana hides under her blanket and munches popcorn while Tempe mostly dozes off.
Zayne has moved into the crook of my arm and is gripping my shirt tightly as he hides his face in my chest. I smile as I stroke his arm, "I've got you."
"Why did I agree to this? I hate you," He mumbles into my shirt.
"I love you too."
We all jump as Arriana screams and hides completely under her blanket at the sight of the monster in the movie jumping out. Zayne doesn't respond much better as he climbs into my lap and bundles in the blanket.
After all the really scary movies when we move to the fun kid ones like Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus, Zayne and Arriana start getting tired from all the excitement and start hesitantly dozing off. Zayne is still clenching my shirt when he falls asleep.
Tempe and Caira both manage to stay awake until the end, quietly saying goodbye as the leave. I hear Caira complain about the clown nightmares she'll have.
With it so quiet and calm, I really look down at Zayne sleeping on me and I reach up to pet his hair. It's still soft as ever.
He must like how it feels because he squirms a little, snuggling into me further as I keep petting his hair. It's comforting having him this close, this vulnerable, this relaxed again. Part of me says to slowly move and lay him on the couch but I don't want to, I don't want this to end.
I look down at where his head lays, straining to look at him resting on my shoulder and I see how cramped he looks in my lap. I want him comfortable, so very slowly and carefully I lay him back on the couch, fixing the pillows to cradle his head. After he's laying down I adjust the blankets to cover all of him and wrap them tightly around him.
I step away slowly and text his mom who's also at the party with my parents.
Zayne is asleep on my couch. Whenever you guys are done and ready you can come get him, let me know so I can wake him
Before disappearing into my room I go back over and give him a light kiss on the forehead. He doesn't even budge.
Leaving to go change, I slip into my room then into my pj pants. Normally I don't wear a shirt but seeing as Zayne is still in my house I feel a little self conscious. I pull out a beat up old t-shirt and slip it on as I go back to the living room.
Seeing him and Arriana completely tuckered out makes me tired too, so I take the blankets and pillows Tempe and Caira were using and lay down on the floor beside Zayne.
His hand is sitting by his face and I reach up to grab it, giving a quick squeeze before closing my eyes and drifting off the sleep.

Halloween in Bluebridge is a big thing, it's bigger than Christmas. People decorated the trees along the pathways, front lawns were turned into creepy pumpkin fields. All the street lights were turned off, the only lights were coming from candles, torches and the stars. People turned on minimum lights in their houses so the essence of Halloween can be captured throughout the whole town. It was a tradition that's been passed on from generation to generation. Bluebridge turned into a murderous ghost town for one night, and Charlene loved it so much.

People from all ages walked down the pathways, those who were too scared usually stayed home and slept the night away with all the lights off. It's their way of passively participating, it was an unspoken commitment amongst the towns people. Those who roamed the streets were all wearing costumes and Halloween make-up. The Town Hall was open for gloomy party, no music, no lights, just scary illustration sounds, black lights, candles, Halloween food and beverages from everyone who donated to the party.

They played horror movies all night at the movie tent, other tents were built to be used for haunted house maze. Psychic readings, spirit summoning, tarot card readings, all sorts of Halloween activities were held at the town hall compound. Charlene dressed as Wednesday Addams. Even with white powder on her face and expressionless face, she still looked beautiful. She used braided black wig and a black dress, exactly like Wednesday and said, "I'm dressed as myself ... a psychopath," and laughed.

She dressed Landon as Gomez Addams, the easiest to do for a last minute costume. She put her dad's tuxedo on him, combed his hair all the way back and put a lot of gel on them. She drew a curly moustache above his upper lip and they were good to go. "There ... now you're my dad," she laughed again. They were out the door as soon as they finished dinner.

They get spooked all the way to Town Hall, some people even go as far as making fake heads and threw them on the lake to float, it looked so real they even had to look twice to be sure. Charlene was laughing out loud every time somebody or something came out from above the trees or from behind the bushes. She absolutely loves Halloween. They heard screams from other people who were startled, some were running, it was like the whole town turned into a giant haunted maze.

"This is amazing, I had no idea it was this fun here at Halloween ... I should come here every year," Landon said when they sat on the picnic bench at the Town Hall yard.

"I know right? I'm gonna miss this ... but yeah, I should come back here just for Halloween every year, that's a great idea," she said as she sipped her bloody marry with baby carrot that made into a fake finger. And then she lost her smile, for a swift moment she thought she had forgotten how awful she felt that she wasn't with Tommy that day.

"What's the matter?" Landon noticed the sudden change.

"Nothing ... we should try the psychic reading later, I want to try everything here, I never came this far on my own, usually I just walked up to the lake and came back home," she forced a smile back to her face.

"Are you meeting someone here?" Landon finally asked what he wanted to ask.

"No ... maybe we'll bump into some of my friends here, but I'm not meeting anyone in particular," she said casually.

He nodded and hid a smile. "What about Christmas? Is it as fun?" he changed the topic.

Charlene thought about it for a moment, "Not for me," she said. "They have the same party here at Town Hall with Christmas theme ... of course, people are more jolly in Christmas with Santa Claus, eggnogs, and everything ... when it snowed, the pathways get really slippery ... it's okay, I guess, but I like Halloween much better," she explained.

"Maybe I'll come back for Christmas and New Year this year too," Landon said.

"With your parents?"

He lifted his shoulders, "If they want to ... it's good for a change, not to celebrate Christmas with the family, but with new friends and new family," he picked up his glass and clinked it with Charlene's. Their eyes met for a moment, and then Charlene looked away while she sipped her drink again.

"Charlene!! Charlene!!" someone shouted her name from afar.

The guy was wearing beetle juice costume, as he approached, she recognized him, "Samuel! Hi!" she stood up to greet him and introduced him to Landon. Samuel looked at Landon twice, "Landon is my friend from Gastonburry," she explained.

"Oh ... hey! Nice to meet you," he said and they exchanged a nod.

"Have you heard from Tommy?" Samuel asked.

Landon turned away, pretended he wasn't listening.

"No ... have you?" there was a desperation in her voice.

"No ... jeez, I thought someone would've heard from him by now ... he's never been like this before," Samuel said. Charlene sat on the bench lazily, not knowing how to respond to that. "I'm sure he has a good explanation for going AWOL on all of us, let me know if you hear anything, okay? Do you want to join us at the funhouse?" he invited her.

Charlene took a glance at Landon, "No, I think I'll stay here," she declined.

"Okay then ... you know where to find us," he said and took another glance at Landon before he walked away.

Landon didn't ask her anything, he knew what the conversation was about. For him, to completely ignore the fact that Charlene was having a bit of a problem with her AWOL boyfriend, was his best strategy to get back on track. They finished their drinks and started going around the tents. She was trying to forget, and he was trying to make her forget. Whatever the reason was, they had a pretty nice time together.

They walked back to the house rather late, there were very few people left and they were all walking back home. Landon stayed true to his words, he never once tried to even held her hand. He walked one step behind her, when he saw her hugging herself, he offered her his tuxedo jacket.

"Her father is going to be Mayor soon, his influence is going to help our business, afterwards, he'll probably run for senator or governor and what have you, that's a good connection to have" he remembered what his father told him. "Get the girl, whatever you need to do to fix it, do it, don't screw this up for me" his father said.

"I had a really nice time ... thank you," he told her when they arrived.

She smiled, "Me too ... you're welcome." There was sadness behind her tired eyes, he wasn't going to interrupt with that. "I'm pretty exhausted, I'm gonna go upstairs and sleep," she said. He nodded and opened the door for her. "Good night," she said.

"Good night, Charlene."

He watched her as she climbed up the stairs. The house was silent, in total darkness. It's gonna be awhile until he can get her trust back, patience is key, something he didn't really have much of.

Two weeks shy of her 17th birthday, Charlene Ludlow accidentally met with the gorgeous blue eyed country boy named Thomas Raven who was going to turn her unadventurous, well planned upper class life, upside down.

Even though her father, who was soon to be Mayor had chosen a suitable future boyfriend for her, she was already fallen head over heels for the boy, who was said to have slept on the beds of half the girls in town.

Tom had never been attached to anything in his life before. When he met Charlene, he felt something that he didn't recognize, he wanted her all to himself, nothing more and nothing less.

Despite how much they wanted to be with each other, they faced many challenges of circumstances, from other people and even between themselves.

How are they going to stay together in the very little time they have before they go on their separate ways for the pursuit of a better future?

It was the day before Halloween, and I was in my parents house up in my bedroom. My parents owned a nice house. It's not fancy, 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. It's my parents, me, and my brother living here. My brothers name is Ryder, and my name is Kimberly. I'm 16, while my brother is 14. What am I doing, you may ask? I'm just texting my best friend Natalie, I just call her Nat. We are deciding what to be for Halloween. 
Nat: Sooo? Are u going to the party? 
Kimberly: What party?
Nat: Jake's? Your crush of 2 years???
Kimberly: Nobody told me there was a party Nat.
Nat: SERIOUSLY? We talked about this all of last night! 
Kimberly: Sorry ok! I was kind of out of it last night. 
Nat: Whatever, we are going to the party, and we are going to have fun! And I already picked our outfits!
Kimberly: Nat.....
Nat: You are going as.....Little red riding hood! And I am going as....a devel!
Kimberly: Ok, whatever Nat, text me later.
I put down my phone and head to my very own bathroom to take a shower. 
~10 minutes later~
Mom: Kim! Breakfeast! 
I hear my mom yell, so I quickly change and head downstairs. As soon as im down there, I smell bacon. Mmm I LOVE bacon. "Hey mom, can I go to Nat's?" I know, bad lying to your parents but I had too! They would NEVER let me go to a party. "Sure hon, do you need me to pick you up after?" She askes while eating a piece of bacon. "No she'll give me a ride home." I flinch, great, another lie. I eat, and then rush back upstairs. I text Nat that I'm coming over. She says ok, so then I pack my makep, and all other essentials for parties and sleepovers. And of course, my wallet.
~At Nat's~
"Finally your here!" Nat screams as I enter her house. Her house is huge! We head up to her room, and she shows me the costumes. Her's is a black and red lace dress with black heels, and devel horns, and mine is a really short red dress, a long red cape, fishnets, and tall red boots. "Woah" is all I can manage. I'm completely stunned. I have never worn something like this before. "I know right!" she giggles. "We are gonna look so hot!" 
"Hang on, I gotta call my mom, and tell her not to pick me up until Sunday." I walk to her hallway, and call my mom. 
"Hey sweetie, whats up?" 
"Can you pick my up on Sunday instead of tomorrow??"
 "Sure sweetie, call me later" Little did I know that that would be the last time I ever spoke to my mother.

Kimberly was just an average 16 year old girl, until something changed her..... Turns out, October 31st is everything to be afraid of... ~The night her parents died.
