Weeks had passed since Somnus took the throne of Gram and absorbed the kingdoms of Theoria and Astoria. He introduced many reforms and taught the people advanced technologies in agriculture, industry, metallurgy, chemistry and even magic.

To say that Gram was prospering or entering its golden age was an understatement and most experts would agree that is the case. Somnus would not. Somnus knew that this period of growth was only a bubble—the economy of Gram would expand quickly and then, at some point, the bubble will burst and the economy would crash. To keep this bubble alive, Gram had to conquer and gain access to resources.

Thousands of people joined the Armed Forces of Gram, which already absorbed the military organizations of both Astoria and Theoria. Their numbers quickly rose to just over fifty thousand soldiers, and the Order of the Ashborn Knights itself had eight hundred troops. Although, weeks of practicing the Herald's skills did not give them many advantages over ordinary soldiers, but there were a few rising stars in that order.

As for other countries or foreign diplomats, no one came to Gram. Somnus did receive letters of declaration from the Kingdoms Gram was now at war with, but that was all that he received. Most of those were just declaration of righteousness in a war they did not start and the intention of the total annihilation of Gram. The various monarchs also refused to acknowledge Somnus as a King, calling him an "uncouth upstart" and "fool". The word "Empire" appeared many times in these letters, usually in the context that the Empire will not take kindly to causing instability in the region.

Strangely enough, the Empire never sent a letter. The messenger that Shinon fought escaped alive, so he must've reported to the Empire what happened. The Empire knew that Somnus had a Herald on his side, therefore, Somnus reasoned, they did not want to show their hand just yet.

With Theoria and Astoria out of the picture, the front line was only to the west and to the south, a stretch of several hundred kilometers. Only a small portion of the border was a viable invasion route, and there were only two such places. Thus, the army of Gram was divided into two units, both pressuring the two neighboring countries of Sylestra and Altera.

The armies on both front lines were evenly matched with the enemy. It would become a war of attrition that would see neither side gain an advantage. Only a brilliant commander could change the status quo and avoid the pointless death of tens of thousands of soldiers. Only a brilliant commander, or the interference of a greater power…

Somnus only knew this because of Shinon's daily reports.

"The second Division is requesting more supplies. In last night's raid, they lost thirty men but inflicted significant damage on the enemy," Shinon explained. "They burned some of the Sylestra's supplies; right now, if Sylestra winters at Ord Pass, they will likely not survive winter. Thus, the commander reasons that they should wait for winter."

Once more, the Great Hall was filled with people, both commoner and Noble. They made it a habit to come watch the Herald give their King a report on the front.

Somnus nodded at the words. He seemed more bored than anything else.

"I leave it to you, Shinon," Somnus said.

Shinon nodded. Most of the small decisions, Somnus left to Shinon and this one was no different. After all, Shinon understood that Somnus's intention was not to win the war quickly, but to produce capable warriors and leaders.

"The name of the raid's commander is Alfred, however, he died during the attack," Shinon said.

Somnus nodded once more. He knew the moment Shinon failed to mention the name of the commander, that the person was probably already dead. In the case where the commander was still alive, the report would be on a rising star, not a successful raid.

"Altera is also sending their monarch to the battlefield. It is likely a trick to prevent further attacks on them," Shinon said. "It is working. The first Division is reluctant to attack."

Somnus glanced at Shinon from the corner of his eye. "No hesitation, Shinon. If the monarch comes out to parade, kill them."

Shinon nodded at Somnus's words. "I shall relay your command, your Excellency."

"Any word from the Empire?" Somnus asked.

Shinon shook his head.

"Anything else?"

Shinon shook his head once more.

"Step back."

Shinon took a step back and clasped his hands behind his back.

"Kaiza. Report."

Kaiza took a step forward.

"Your Majesty, I have discovered and silenced a plot within the Kingdom. Some of the high nobles were communicating with the spiritual leaders of the Empire to grant one of them the right to rule," Kaiza explained.

"Oh?" Somnus was only slightly surprised. He knew that there would always be dissidents, but this was a bit sooner than he expected.

"Apparently, the new Human Triarch, who's name is unknown, took your side and defended it," Kaiza explained.

"A God argued in my favor?" Somnus asked. This was even more surprising.

Kaiza nodded. "As I said, his name is unknown, but his domain is War."

Somnus cracked a rare smile when he heard that. Of course War would be on his side. Before there were any gods, Somnus was the figurative God of War.

"Kaiza, go to the Empire and find out more about this God of War." Somnus gestured to Kaiza dismissively.

"But… your Majesty, they will instantly know my identity and most likely… kill me," Kaiza said.

"You do not have permission to be terminated," Somnus said.

"Wise King, surely you must know that I have little choice in the matter! The Empire is fearsome and powerful…" Kaiza spoke, tone eloquent.

Somnus considered Kaiza. With his neutral expression, it was hard to tell if he was pondering Kaiza's argument, or killing Kaiza himself. It could go either way.

"Very well," Somnus said, holding his hand out, palm up. "I will give you this."

As Somnus spoke, a crystal formed in his hand.

"Is that… mana?" Kaiza asked, eyes wide.

"Affirmative," Somnus said but he didn't move his hand yet. The crystallized mana slowly warped and took the shape of a key.

When Somnus offered the key to Kaiza, she took it and appraised it.

"Your Majesty… what is this?"

"Name undefined," Somnus said. "Use it to threaten Empire if they attack you."

"Threaten the Empire? Your Majesty, I am still not sure what this does. I assume it opens a door…" Kaiza said carefully. She did not want to provoke Somnus. Every time someone asked Somnus a question, they risked the answer coming in the form of violence and death.

"Key to the end of the world," Somnus said.

Kaiza, and everyone in the room, felt uneasy at those words. They all knew that Somnus did not make jokes or empty threats. If Somnus said something was the end of the world, then it was the real thing.

"Kaiza," Somnus said and looked to her. "Only use the key if all other options are exhausted."

"As you command, your Majesty," Kaiza said and took a step back. "I shall depart for the Empire at once."

Already, the telepathically gifted were conveying this information to friends and relatives, and soon enough, they will reach the Empire itself. This was part of Somnus's plan. Whether he gave the real thing to Kaiza or not was irrelevant. Even if the threat was real or not was also irrelevant. So long as the threat existed, it was a deterrent. With the key, Kaiza should be able to enter the Empire and everyone would, without a doubt, play stupid and let her snoop around.

This was the way Somnus did things.

"Your Majesty," Shinon suddenly said, "I may have a suggestion."

Somnus followed Kaiza with his gaze as she was departing, and then looked to Shinon. "Speak."

"Why don't you become an adventurer?"

"Not interested," Somnus said.

"A lot of Kings in the past were adventurers, your Majesty. If you become formally recognized, and with your high attributes, you would no doubt solidify your right to rule. It would suppress further plots."

Somnus pondered the words quietly.

"Furthermore," Shinon said. "Powerful adventurers tend to attract other powerful adventurers. It could be a good way to gain very strong commanders and soldiers."

Somnus was still not convinced.

"I have a plan, your Majesty…"

The purple wand had grown to over twice Amy's height, and atop the smooth and perfectly straight wand was a purple crystal ball that was about the size of a fist. Purplish-golden lines criss-crossed along the surface of the wand, creating a series of mysterious symbols. Purple light flashed and circulated within the crystal, lighting up the dim magic potion shop.
Amy held the wand tightly in both hands, and stared up at the beautiful purple crystal with an adorkable expression. Her purple magician robes perfectly complemented the wand in her hand.
The sight of her tiny stature next to the massive wand created a charming contrast.
"It can even change its form!" Xixi's mouth gaped open in surprise; she was at a loss for words. As a 7th-tier magic caster, she had an extensive understanding of magic, and had never seen any magic caster's wand capable of transforming into a massive magic staff.
Furthermore, the materials used to make the staff were just as valuable. The body of the staff was constructed from purple sand gold, which was generally only reserved for the weapons of high-tier knights. Furthermore, even they would only use a small amount of that material in their weapons as it was simply too expensive. 
As for the purple crystal on the tip of the staff, if she wasn't mistaken, then it was most likely the legendary oracle stone.
The oracle stone was imbued with the source of the Norland Continent's magic, and it was said that it fell into Urien's possession several decades ago. It was rumored that the oracle stone had fortune-telling abilities, but that wasn't verified. However, one of its abilities was verified, and that was its ability to randomly enhance the power of a spell by severalfold. For that ability alone, it was seen as a holy item among magic casters.
Many large wars had been waged on the Norland Continent for the oracle stone, and the fact that Urien was willing to make it an accessory on Amy's wand showed just how important she was to him.
"As expected, it's most perfect in its staff form. At this height, Little Amy will be able to use it even after she grows up." Krassu stroked his bear with a pleased expression. Without Amy messing with his beard recently, it had considerably grown in length.
Amy raised her wand and waved it in front of her, and it whistled through the air, sweeping up a gust of wind. Her body was quite small, but she already possessed considerable power.
"This is awesome! Both forms are pink! I love it! Master Krassu, Master Urien, you're the best! I really love this wand!" Amy was overjoyed as she swung her wand around.
"I'm glad Little Amy likes the wand. I heard that you're going to compete against those little brats from the Magus Tower tomorrow. Use that wand, and show them the power of the flames of extreme frost." A kind smile appeared on Urien's face.
"No, no, you should use the staff to smack their heads. Show them the power of a melee magic caster." Krassu also wore a smile on his face, but figurative sparks were flying as his gaze met Urien's.
"Heh, Little Amy has only been learning melee magic for a month. If she does as you tell her, then she would be knocked down before she could even reach her opponent. I won't allow Little Amy to take such a risk." Urien's expression cooled, and the temperature in the room also began to plummet.
"I have absolute confidence in Little Amy. There's no way that those little brats would be able to even touch Little Amy. Among magic casters of the same tier, melee magic is invincible." Scorching heat began to emanate from Krassu's body to combat the plummeting temperature in the room.
"Tch, invincible among magic casters of the same rank? When have you ever defeated me in the past century? Invincible, you say? What a joke!" Urien pursed his lips with disdain.
"How about you stand still, and let me knock you on the head with my staff? You're constantly scampering around like a little rat during our battles!" Krassu's brows furrowed with displeasure.
The two of them continued to glower at each other, and it appeared that another epic battle was brewing.
"Don't worry, I'll use both types of magic tomorrow, so please don't fight. I'm hungry, so I'm going home now!" Amy positioned herself between the two of them with a serious expression on her little face.
Krassu and Urien glared at each other one last time, but they still backed down in the end, and the temperature in the magic potion shop returned to normal.
"Little Amy, in order to make it more convenient for you to carry this wand, I also created a miniature version of it. You only have to chant the minimizing spell once, and the wand will assume its smallest form. That way, you'll be able to carry it in your pocket with ease." Urien turned to Amy, and a benevolent smile returned to his face.
"Really?" Amy's eyes lit up upon hearing that, and she immediately chanted the minimizing spell twice. The massive staff first reverted back to its normal size before shrinking even further to become a small wand that was about 10 centimeters in length. Even in Amy's little hand, it appeared to be quite petite.
"That's awesome! Master Urien is the best! I'll always be able to carry my wand with me now." Amy was elated as she looked at her miniature wand. She then placed it in the pocket of her magician robes with a smile, and said, "Thank you for the wand, Master Urien and Master Krassu, I really like it. I have to go home for dinner now, and I'll be sure to show my father the wand."
"Go on." Urien nodded with a smile.
"I'll have some dinner too. I'm in a pretty good mood today, so I'll get a braised chicken and rice." Krassu followed Amy as she rushed out the door.
Amy ran into the restaurant, and immediately rushed into the kitchen as she yelled excitedly, "Father, Master Urien and Master Krassu gave me a super awesome wand. Would you like to see it?"
"Of course. I'd love to." Mag was holding a platter of spicy grilled fish as he emerged from the kitchen with a smile on his face. He was also looking forward to seeing the wand that Krassu and the others had created for Amy.
Sally and Yabemiya also gathered around with curiosity on their faces. Amy had mentioned the wand to them on many occasions in the past few days, so they were also very interested in seeing what the finished product looked like.
"Look! This is my wand." Amy put her hand into her pocket, pulling out a wand that was about 10 centimeters in length.
"It's so short!" Mag was a little surprised at the sight of the tiny wand in Amy's hand.
"It can become longer." Amy shook her head as she recited a spell in her heart, and cried, "Expand!"
A purple light flashed, and the wand suddenly became about 30 centimeters in length.
"Hmm?"
Expressions of surprise appeared on the faces of Mag, Miya, and Sally in unison.
"It can become even bigger!" Amy was very pleased with everyone's reactions, and she yelled once again in an elated voice. "Expand!"
A magic staff close to two meters in length appeared in Amy's hand.
"Is that the Monkey King's golden staff?" Mag's eyes widened in shock.


In Chaos City on the Norland Continent, there is a strange restaurant.

Here, elves and dwarves share tables. Beastmen are prohibited from making a din, and giant dragons can only seat around the tiny square in front of the restaurant. Even demons have to bring their own stools…

But it is such a strange restaurant that has long lines outside every day.

Elves are stuffing kebabs, paying no mind to their manners; giant dragons are sitting around a hot pot, strainers in their hands; demons are eating nice-looking dango…

"There's no other place on this continent where you can find food like that! The boss here is a genius!" a customer provides such a review. Then, he gives a furtive look at the door. "Also, don't you think of kidnapping the boss away or dine-and-dashing, or you will suffer a tragic death."

"Eat, pay, or you will be beaten to death." says a cute little girl in her childish voice as she trots forward. A five-meter tall dragon shivers when it meets her eyes.

"I'm finally home…" I muttered a few words to no one in particular as I basked in the sunlight. It was just past noon, the time the star was shining its brightest. I couldn't help but relish in the warmth of its rays as I regarded the ever familiar cave before me.

Not having to account for Nell meant that Rir didn't have to show restraint. He was able to dash home at his top speed. Still, the trip had still taken longer than expected—and not because I had decided to nap on his back as he ran. Our lateness could be attributed entirely to the sudden introduction of a few necessary miscellaneous tasks. All of which stemmed from an encounter with a group of bandits.

They had attacked us on sight, so I returned the favour by wiping them out. I followed up the extermination by hitting up their base, snatching all their loot, and then burning their whole damned operation to the ground. Huh. You know, in retrospect, I almost feel like my actions were just as heinous and criminal as theirs. But hey, I did check their titles ahead of time just in case. The result? Yeah, let's just say that their kind doesn't deserve any pity. And I am supposedly the Demon Lord of Judgement. Convicting sinners of their crimes and punishing them accordingly is basically my job, at least according to the title. So yeah, whatever, fuck it. Not my problem. Might as well just call it karma and move on.

Although it was my first time doing anything of the sort in real life, I rather enjoyed the activity. Raiding bandit camps is fun, likely because their base of operations was an abandoned fortress. Clearing it out felt somewhat reminiscent of an old RPG. Beating up bandits was definitely worth my time. 10/10 would do it again if I had the chance. It's a great way to grind money too. Not that I've got any use for money, but y'know.

Oh, wait. On second thought, I do. I can totally just feed it to the dungeon. Man, I've been feeding it nothing but corpses, so I totally forgot. Might as well at least try doing that then, I guess. I might even make a whole bunch of DP if I'm lucky.

Rir and I had already gone our separate ways, so I ended up getting lost in my own thoughts as I moved through the cave. I didn't exactly feel like walking through the plains, so I switched the door's destination to the true throne room before giving it a twist and walking right through.

"I'm home." The first thing I did after entering was announce my presence.
"Welcome home, Yuki!" Illuna dashed towards me the moment she noticed me and greeted me with a flying tackle that made use of all her momentum.
"Welcome back, Lord." Shii was only a single step behind her. She too pitter-pattered towards me, but instead of jumping at me, she instead opted to slow down and wrap her arms around my waist.
"Thanks. I'm glad to see you guys doing so well."

I gave each of the two girls a few pats on the head. Man, seeing these two fills me right up with energy. Their smiles are the best medicine a weary soul could get.

"Heya Master, welcome home!"
"Welcome home, My Lord."
"Hey Lyuu. Thanks Leila." I responded to the maids' greetings in turn before finally turning towards the dungeon's final resident. "Hey, Lefi. I'm back."

She had been looking right at me, so our eyes met the moment I directed my gaze towards her. For some odd reason, her cheeks immediately began turning a shade of crimson. She opened and closed her mouth a few times as if to say something, but she never managed to get it out. After a few tries, she gave up, and her expression ended up as one of indifference. Huh. That's weird. What's up with her?

"I-Indeed you are. I must admit that I would have preferred for you to return sooner." Lefi approached me and entered my personal space, which was more or less cluttered due to the two girls that had attached themselves to me, and grabbed a hold of my shirt before she continued speaking in a bashful tone. "T-The void you left by my side was filled with naught but loneliness. I-I missed you."

I. What. I. Huh? The dragon's words had caught me completely off guard.

"W-what the heck's gotten into you? Are you okay? You aren't sick, are you?"
"O-Of course not," Lefi stuttered. "I am simply stating that I did not anticipate that your absence would cause me to suffer so."
"Hwauht!?" The words that came out of Lefi's mouth were so laced in sugar they led me to scream incoherently. W-What the hell has gotten into you, Lefi!? Seriously!

The way the dragon girl was acting was so adorable I wanted to scoop her up in my arms, take her home, and ask if I could keep her. But as cute as it was, it felt… wrong. Something was off. She was acting so differently from the Lefi I knew that I almost didn't want to think they were the same person. You know, this is almost like how animals end up acting all weird right before some sort of great calamity or something. Though in this case, Lefi herself could easily cause said great calamity, huh?

I looked around the room in order to check whether I was the only person that felt as if something was off. And apparently, the answer was yes. Lyuu was watching us while pumping one of her fists, whereas Leila had an even bigger smile on her face than usual. Wait. Did they put some weird ass idea into her head or something? Because it sure as hell looks like it.

I opened my mouth in order to question the two suspects, but Lefi interrupted me before I could speak.

"Yuki…" Her nose twitched as she sniffed me.
"W-what?"
"Explain yourself. You bear the scent of a woman. What is the meaning of this!?"

Oh shit! She knows! She totally knows!

"B-Before you say anything, hear me out. I'm totally innocent!" I smashed the figurative not guilty button as hard as I possibly could as I stammered out an explanation. "Some kid got really attached to me so I played with her a bit. That's all! And I mean it, she was just a kid! Barely any older than Illuna! And you can't call someone that young a woman!"
"I see." Lefi narrowed her eyes. "So you have once again laid hands on a child in order to appease your distorted desires."
"That's definitely not what I meant!"

The supreme dragon wore a smile, a terrifying, dreadful smile. I could feel my brow dampening with cold sweat as I trembled in fear. Fortunately, her anger vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

"…Very well. It matters not." She calmed down and shook her head as she continued to speak. "Your journey must have left you exhausted. Have you had your midday meal?"
"I uh… no. Not yet."
"Splendid. You must join us then. We were just about to start," she smiled before turning towards the two little girls that had attached themselves to me. "I believe that is enough clinging for now. I am sure the two of you have had your fill, so let us assist in arranging the table."
"Okay!"

Both Illuna and Shii happily responded as they finally let go.

"Be seated, Yuki. Lunch shall soon be served."
"Errr, sure. Alright."

Lefi led me to the table and sat me down. She then followed the action with something that was nigh unprecedented. She went into the kitchen and grabbed a few plates in order to help set the table.

"Seriously…" I muttered as I tried to wrap my head around the odd situation. "What the hell is going on…?"

Before I realized, I had become the guardian of a dungeon, a Demon Lord. I was suddenly in a dangerous world with giant monsters loitering around, fighting for their existence, so I thought to go about developing the dungeon in order to not die but —- for some reason I was having quite the good time…. How did it turn out like this?

The protagonist, Yuki, having to live in that world now, uses his bold and sharp senses and spends time with a supreme dragon girl and a vampire girl; Sometimes laughing, sometimes being angry, passing days doing what he likes.

Initially, Steve intended to sell the treasures that had been found in the Apollo battleship for profit. However, it now seemed that unless he had a death wish, it would be better for him to leave these treasures untouched.
Of course, even if these things could not be sold for profit, it did not mean that he could not use them for his own purposes...
"The Apollo battleship contains relics of the technological civilization of Atlantis and the spiritual civilization of Lemuria. However, your strength is too weak now, which means that you only have access to the Original Being level authority of these," Judy said.
Steve looked at the list, which seemed to contain everything, including armor, robots, spiritual weapons, thermal weapons, even large missiles. Steve was impressed.
Just as Steve was looking through the list, his attention was suddenly attracted by something that he had never seen before.
"A spiritual card? What is this, and what is its use?" Steve asked, surprised.
"Spiritual cards were created by the Lemurian spiritual masters and divided into three types. The first type, the Skill Seal Card, can seal skills into the cards for later use," Judy explained. "The second type is the Figurative Card, which can represent things in the cards, such as machine armor, chariots, and so on. In many relics, scientific and technological articles or the Fundamental Technique cannot be used."
She continued her explanation. "The restrictions in the relics are strange, but what the cards represent have the same ability as the original objects. The third type is the War Spirit Card. For magical beasts or human beings that had just passed away and still had original-level force left in their bodies, the Skill Seal Card would be able to extract these forces and make another seal card."
She paused, making sure he was following her, then continued. "During a fight, releasing the seal inside the card can represent the original appearance of a magical beast or human being possessing the same skills. However, the magical beasts and human beings released by the Skill Seal Card would not have 100% of its original strength. In fact, the amount of strength left would depend greatly on the time of its death and the sealing standard of the spiritual master."
Hearing this, Steve revealed a shocked look. Steve had never heard of this technique before. It felt similar to a card game he had once played, but it also had some big differences. However, there was no doubt that spiritual cards can play an unexpected role, at least if they were played well.
For example, the third type of card, the War Spirit Card, could seal not only the remaining strength of a magical beast or human being after death, but also the planet and all kinds of other energy. As long as the energy was available, it could be sealed and become a card skill!
However, the difficulty level of sealing different things varied. In general, the remaining strength of magical beasts were sealed the most frequently.
"A spiritual master has a very high position among the Lemurians, but also has an extremely horrifying combat power. As such, they carry a lot of spiritual cards with them. After they were done with photo shooting, they left without joining other people at the reception. They didn't even bother looking around inside the newly constructed factory building.
