Just as there is 'Soft Magic' in Fantasy that is portrayed through magibabble, there can be 'Soft Science' in a Sci-Fi stories through technobabble that makes 'some sense', but not entirely correct.

We are frickin' writers, not scientists. You don't have to be anatomically correct all the time, all you need to do is show that you know enough of your stuff to write a decent story. In fact, the excuse of it being an alternate world can be used if you're going to bend the limits of physics and say that fire doesn't need air to exist in this parallel dimension.

I see a lot of writers being put into a state of confusion due to not understanding the line between fantasy and Sci-Fi. They seem like they are trying to fit the Star Trek mould too often.

Science can just as well do the same things as plot devices in fantasy stories. Once you add 'realism' to a fantasy, it becomes progressively better sometimes compared to a completely fantasied story where 'logic' doesn't hold within it.

Those who write Sci-Fi usually envision a future they can imagine where magic-like Rocket Boots and other stuff exist. However, a writer must not get bogged down by small details and MUST think of an overarching story where these details matter.

It is the same with Fantasy. Even if you write about someone breaking the mould as a wizard or something, you have to attach your world to a narrative rather than doing it the other way 'round.

No one wants to hear about how awesome your boat propellers are before hearing your story's narrative. They would rather you cut down and make it relevant when it is actually relevant.

Adding some 'Hard Science' to your story is only when the scenes later on have any use for them. It bores a person to death no matter how extensive your technobabble is unless you make it interesting. Try using facts as plot elements.

For example: Even the simple fact that people cannot breath in space and instantly die when they come in contact with the 'void' of space could be used to add a layer of tension when a spaceship is damaged. Similar to how dangerous 'hard magic' is used in Epic Fantasy like Frodo's Ring in The Lord of the Rings has definitive corruption on others.

Unlike Fantasy that can use the Power of Friendship to bend logic, the readers of Sci-Fi never be expecting any 'realistic' plot elements to be bend just because the Author wants a happy ending. There are no 'Healing Potions' in real life that can be used to fix up injuries nor are people affected by prophesies or whatever.

This is the contrast between Sci-Fi and Fantasy that you can make full use of. As most authors go onto the Sci-Fi side of writing not because they strive to be scientists but since the aesthetics of a science fiction world are just so interesting.

Science Fiction is a good place to tackle heavy topics like the nature of life and the absurdity of those who see 'science' as everything. Those who disregard emotions and become cybernetic entities for the sake of casting off their mortality are portrayed as the bad guys while our totally human protagonist fighting them is a 'good guy'.

The lines between an Artificial Intelligence and regular Humans blurs as we become the 'God' of technological species that defy our definition of what is 'living'. Just as we see God as some sort of fourth-dimensional and incomprehensible being that created us as an imperfect image of 'Him', the robots given sentience would see us similarly.

Some robots might have emotions that can allow them to defy their programming, some robots won't go as far as gaining emotional functionality but will preform their roles better than even a human. It could show the reason why people get attached to the inanimate and soulless objects we put our own hearts into creating (like Big Hero 6).

But though exploring philosophical questions is good and all, never forget that a good 'plot' is needed to put forward and give clues into the writer's answer that context. Sci-Fi is, after all, a premise, not a relatable character in of itself.

Think of the science-fiction elements as just the background for your story, similar to how other genres should be that as well. You won't have to deal writing blocks if you keep to writing only what you know rather than just speculative theories.

Whether it's as dark as a Cyber Punk or optimistic of the future, just know what mould you are using for this premise. Are you writing an Adventure story with Sci-Fi as the places, destinations, and whatever tools the MC can get him hands on, or are you writing a comedy where the Sci-Fi elements don't need consistency but absurdity?

After moving past why you shouldn't add unneeded technobabble unless it's interesting to listen to or has plot significance, let me remind you all that robots and 'science' isn't entirely separated from the realm of magic. After all, there is a reason you don't see skimpy power suits being worn by astronauts these days. Just be sure to have a focus if your going to add very illogical things to the plot.

I like Gundam as much as the next guy but the whole reason the Mecha sub-genre of Anime has waned in recent years is because writers have been focusing too much on 'science' rather than the spectacle. I don't need to now what materials your Mecha is made of unless you point its weak points and make it relevant in a fight scene.

Bring up the strengths and weaknesses of something and THEN use those facts as devices that can move the plot. Conversely, if you go overboard with this advice and tell me nothing but how your giant robot looks and the 'science' behind its creation, even going as far as to tell me how many secret guns it has, then I'll be bored...

I'd love to see Cyborgs Vs Mecha but just don't forget the human element of Sci-Fi. How we create things not solely for the sake of creation but put are feelings into it just like the novels we write.

Humans are passionate that way...

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Chapter 568: even pregnant women need to do more activities.

Mother jiang just happened to walk in. when she saw this scene, she could not help but laugh till she could not close her mouth. "young master is back?"

"yes."

"i'll go upstairs and show it to you!" shi cai ning glanced at gu kuangen. seeing that he was really not in the mood to eat, he stood up and walked upstairs, hoping that his two-part proposal would give him a pleasant surprise.

According to the standards of the Screen Actors Guild, although he had already been a star worth a 10-million paycheck, he had never been involved in a big-budget film before. Desha was already back from the university, Yuvi was yet to return from work. But just some few minutes before dinner was served he returned from work.

What is it dad? Yuvi asked. Please tell us what it is Desha replied. Well kids, it is about your grandparents. After the prayers at Udi mountain was completed, they decided to stay in a nearby village and live with the locals.

But not to worry kids, they said they would be visiting us sometime and that would give your mum and I the opportunity to take you on a trip sometime to visit your parents over there.

Ok dad, said Desha. But Dad can I bring Natasha along with me sometime? I mean if the family happen to travel over there before our wedding?

Yes you can son, she is welcome to come with us, she is like a daughter to us son, and your sis Desha will have someone to chit chat with other than your mother. It will all be fun.

Thanks dad, you welcome son. Now that everything is settled, can we please finish our dinner, it is getting cold, said Lakshmi. Ok mum, everyone including her husband Purhab replied at the same time.

At Delhi Cinemas...

This was the third movie that Sonal and Jasmine were watching, they had both informed their parents respectively that they are at Delhi cinemas and won't be home until dark.

Before they left earlier to Delhi cinemas, Sonal had also instructed one of the guards to drive Jasmine's car back to her house. 

Jasmine is one that didn't like taking bodyguards, she was just like her fiancée Rohit. Rohit never liked using bodyguards either.

It was around 9pm that the movie ended, when they came out of the cinemas, Sonal said to Jasmine, it was a great idea we bought tickets for the bodyguards and driver aswell.

I mean it won't be right to leave them outside, they are guarding and protecting us and it is only right if they are with us inside the cinemas.

Well Sonal I wouldn't argue with you, I naturally don't like taking bodyguards along with me and I like driving myself most of the time. I Only use drivers for emergencies. Alright Jasmine, we should head home now, it is pretty late said Sonal.

Yes we should, and to lighten the mood the block buster movies we watched were all great replied Jasmine.

Yes, Tang Ning and President Mo movies are exceptional. Stupid 1 and 2 and the last one we watched, what was it again? asked Sonal. Yes it is The Black Ant replied Jasmine.

Wow, their movies are great, I agree with you Sonal. We should do this again. And we should watch their other movies also.

Yes we should, I remember Tang Ning and President Mo produces great Sci Fi movies alot, I was just a little girl, about 6 years old when I heard of them. 

Back then I didn't really Know who they were all I could remember was hearing Sci Fi movies anytime their names were mentioned.

I used to think then that they were Indians with strange names, I was really embarrassed when I was overseas, when a Chinese couple described who they were to me.

I heard them talking about Tang Ning and President Mo, so I asked them who these famous people were.

They then explained to me that they are the father and mother of Sci Fi movies in China, they are Chinese celebrities and their 3 kids are famous aswell.

When I went back to my hostel, I researched more about Tang Ning and President Mo Ting, they are grand parents aswell.

By this time they were already sited in the car. Just as the driver started the car, Sonal instructed him to drop Jasmine at her family home first before they proceed to the Arora mansion.

Alright young miss, the driver replied as he drove the car in the direction of the Singh's mansion.

They continued their chit chat in the car that they did not realise that the car had pulled over at the Singh's mansion.

We are at the Singh's mansion young miss, the driver said. Jasmine thanked Sonal and the driver, came down from the car and went inside her family home.

After Jasmine exited the car, the driver then proceeded with the car heading to the Mehra mansion. 

Along the way, Jasmine slept off in the car. When the car stopped in front of Mehra mansion, the driver then said, young miss, we are at the Mehra mansion.

Jasmine was not in deep sleep. She opened her eyes and thanked the driver before exiting the car. She went straight to her room.

She was so exhausted that she did not freshen up, instead as she laid in her bed to rest for few minutes with the intention of freshening up later, she slept off and had a beautiful dream that after the soldier fought for her, they got married.

The driver outside parked the car in the garage and retired to his quarters. The driver too was not left out, he also had his share of dreams.

He dreamt he was a king and had his own castle and people who served him. Truth in reality is that he planned on being wealthy someday. He did not want to remain a driver all his life.

A mysterious man walked along the main road, pulling a large suitcase behind him. As he walked, he made a call. But no matter how many times he tried, he just couldn't get through. Feeling strange, he said to himself, "What is number seven doing, why isn't he answering my calls? I'm not even sure where the target is now, how am I supposed to make my move?"
This mysterious man's clothing was about the same as the guy who got crushed by the flower pot. He was also one of the members of the ninja team.
In today's era of science and technology, the usefulness of a ninja's physical ability was infinitely minimized. Therefore, they were starting to make use of technological weapons now as well. In his large suitcase laid the king of sniping, smuggled in through special means—Hamt M82A1 sniper rifle!
Hamt M82A1 sniper rifle was designed mainly to be used for sniping targets, and it could even be used as a defensive weapon for lightships.
In an actual war, when a 7.62mm sized bullet shot through a person's body at a speed of 850 m/s, it would first leave a small wound with a diameter of less than one cm. When the bullet traveled through the body, its force would injure the organs, and then exit the body at a speed of 570 m/s, bringing with it the bone particles of the human body. If it got shot on the four limbs, the impact would cause a wound that was more than 12 cm. If shot on the head, the wound would be even scarier—it would blow off one-third of the skull. If the bullet went through the artery, under the immense pressure of the heart pumping blood at a rate of 83,3 ml/s, the blood would spill out of the body more than 10 meters far.
When a person was shot and collapsed, the body would have about 4,000 ml of blood. In the next few seconds, the amount of blood loss would quickly reach 1000 ml. A person who was still living just a few seconds ago would be instantly near death then.
And this was only the power of a 7.62mm caliber rifle. The caliber of the rifle that this ninja was carrying was 12.7mm!
Which meant that, even if Hong Dali wore the exoskeleton armor, if the bullet of this sniper rifle hit him, just the impact alone would be enough to cause his organs to shatter into pieces!

Just after the interview ends, Hong Dali opens the Great Prodigal System's interface and looks at the various good stuff displayed in it. Stroking his chin, he mumbles to himself, "I just need to squander 200 billion yuan more to exchange for the blueprint of the core technology, Engine Destruction, found in the strongest humanoid mecha weapon, Neo Granzon. Looks like I'll have to work harder!"

"I want to splurge! I want to squander!"

Listening to the flat and unexcited tone of the system congratulating him, Long Yu felt irked somehow.

Before even trying to figure out what happened, Long Yu was already able to easily connect the dots. The wishing star, the strange reaction given off by the jade pendant and the torturous event that he just went through. If he could not recognise their connection to the appearance of the system, he might as well call himself a retard.

Suppressing his curiosity regarding the system's function, he promptly tried to connect with it.

'Where is the jade pendant?'

No response.

'System, where is the jade pendant?'

On the second try, there was a response from the system.

'The pendant, which was deemed as the host's most precious possession was paid as a price to obtain the Equivalent Exchange System. Everything was according to host's wish. All exchanges completed cannot be undone.'

It seemed as if the system understood his thoughts and was informing him that Luo Xi's jade pendant could not be recovered anymore. Although Long Yu was crestfallen at hearing this news, he knew better than to cry over spilt milk. At least the system which the pendant traded for would stay with him from now on.

What he needed to do now was to figure out what this system was exactly and how he could take advantage of it. From the name itself, he was more or less able to tell that he would be able to exchange for things using the system.

Long Yu wanted to know more, so he continued asking the system about various stuff. From the information he managed to obtain from the system, he concluded that it was more than just platform to exchange items. Rather, it was just as the system mentioned. He would be able to exchange for anything and everything he wanted, provided he could cough up the price determined by the system. 

Furthermore, the more precious the object, the higher the price he needed to pay. He could exchange for items which were considered as famous legends and myths. He speculated that even futuristic sci-fi objects would be available.

After Long Yu finished his Q&A session with the system, it was finally time for him to start experimenting. As he activated the system's interface with his mind, futuristic blue holograms appeared in front of him. It was similar to those sci-fi movies where holographic panels and 3D models could be interacted with through touch and hand gestures.

Long Yu explored the system interface by trying to control it with his mind. He tried to move the panels around and even changed their sizes. It seemed that all of the holographic elements were at his command and could be fitted to his comfort. 

Looking towards the biggest element which had the word 'EXCHANGE' on it, he willed his mind to activate it. Instantly, two platforms with words appeared in front of him. One had an image which indicated 'purchase' whereas the other one indicated 'trade'.

 It was fairly straightforward as Long Yu could tell that the 'purchase' platform would let him acquire whatever he searched for, while the 'trade' platform allows him to dispose an existing item in exchange for some form of currency.

Grabbing a random object on top of his desk, he hurriedly placed it on the 'trade' platform. Once the object was on the platform, it changed into a holographic version of it instead. Long Yu now realised that the object that he previously grabbed was his new alarm clock, which he bought from a 10 yuan store two days ago[1]. 

Seeing the number floating above the alarm clock, he could tell that the system would give him 3 yuan in exchange for the clock.

Long Yu removed the alarm clock from the platform and placed it back on his desk. Once the clock left the platform, it changed back into its physical form. Next, he placed a half-eaten candy bar on the platform to check its value. The number which appeared above it indicated that it was worth 0.5 yuan to the system.

After spending a full 20 minutes on checking the value of various objects in his room, Long Yu finally came to a conclusion. He did not know if he could receive any other form of currency besides money from the system, but he had established that anything he traded to the system would have its value reduced by half. 

For instance, that half-eaten candy bar on his desk. He had originally bought it at a supermarket for 2 yuan, which the 'trade' function of the system would supposedly exchange it for 1 yuan. But since he had eaten half of it earlier on, the system had reduced its value by another half, bringing its worth to 0.5 yuan.

So basically, as long as the item that he wished to trade to the system was new or in decent condition, he would receive back half of its market value in money. Long Yu was also happy to find out that the items that he could trade in was not limited to small objects.

When he thought of trading in his bed, the system had instead scanned it and displayed a holographic miniature version of it on the platform. With this, he did not have to worry about objects suddenly disappearing in front of other people whenever he wanted to check their worth in public. 

Nonetheless, the scan function also has it limitations, as it only allows him to scan objects that are within 3 metres from his location.

One cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be paid.

The life saving system that Long Yu received supposedly follows this rule. Unfortunately, the price required some times can turn out to be somewhat strange.

 'System, I want to exchange for something that can regrow an arm.'

The strange and distorted sky seems more dreadful than usual at the moment.

The world is painted a pessimistic gray. Gray skyscrapers, gray alloy floors, gray vehicles, gray sky, and three gigantic gray spheres hangs suspended in the sky.

This is the death of a metal world.

This should be a ruin, right?

Walking through the steel jungle, although this thought repeats in my head, my impression of the ruins are different. There isn't a single trace of damage here. Even a scratch cannot be found on the ice-cold steel surface of the world. They don't seem to have been discarded here due to taking serious damage, rather, they seem to just lying dormant, like a hibernating beast. I think that is a much better way to address them.

In this dormant world, the only sound is my footsteps. After walking for who-knows-how-long, I'm finally beginning to tire, so I found some sort of aviation hangar to sit down on.

It's going to take some time to leave this area, and I'm already bored senseless. I gaze at the three gigantic spheres in the sky. They really are huge; they cover a third of the sky. I can see numerous faint lines in a grid-like pattern on its surface, making it seem like a planetary stronghold from a sci-fi movie. To tell the truth, this world is more sci-fi than any sci-fi movie out there.

Just like this, I continue to watch the three planet-sized metal balls until I can't help but avert my gaze from their oppressiveness.

It feels like they had moved a bit closer.

In fact, they really are getting closer. When I had first arrived, they were just three black specks high in the sky, but now, they are moving closer and closer. Sometimes, the gap closes by a lot, and other times, the change is negligible. If you didn't pay attention to it, then you might not even notice it moving. I knew that they were descending though. Perhaps, one day, they'll touch the ground, and who knows, maybe the world will change in some way? With how bored I am, this will be something I'll really look forward to.

"Still haven't found it…" A voice suddenly pierces through the sky, resonating throughout the world.

Jingle! Jingle!  The alarm clock suddenly wakes me up. With great effort, I open my eyes and shake away the dizziness after a moment. After another moment, my head is finally clear of the weird dream I had last night.

Such a strange dream…

I don't know when it started, but I had been having strange dreams where I am wandering alone in a deathly still metal world. The surroundings were really futuristic and bleak, as though Judgement Day had already passed. Despite how stifling that world was, I had never felt any alarm when I wandered about, as if I was already familiar with the place. My dream would end with that piercing voice every single time, and each time it would say in despair, "Still haven't found it…"

But that voice has never told me what she's looking for…

Just what is that voice looking for? Unless, she is hoping that I would find it?

Unfortunately, I have never found the answer in my dreams.

I have never told anyone about these dreams I have. Although I don't know what they mean, my intuition tells me that it's quite special and that telling others will bring me a lot of trouble.

"Ah… It's Monday." I grumble to myself, unwilling to get out of bed. I can't help but shiver from the cold winter air. In the end, though, I manage to resist the warmth of my blanket because if I didn't, I will be late for class. At the very least, I need to show up at least once before the teaching director forgets what I look like.

I, Chen Jun, am a student in 12th grade and an orphan. A business couple adopted me when I was a child, but after they passed away, my non-blood-related older sister and I only had each other to depend on. My life is as plain as a cup of water. The only thing to rejoice about is the fact that this cup of water has been boiled and still has some heat to it. My older sister had received a large inheritance from our parents, so our lifestyle doesn't resemble that of orphans at all. You can see just how great and lively my morning routine is.

Outside the door is a beautiful girl with long hair, dressed in a homely long skirt. She wears a big smile on her face while holding a pot in one hand and a kitchen knife in the other. This is a dangerous habit of hers that she still hasn't changed to this day.

This is my adoptive older sister, Chen Qian. She's older than me by five years, yet her appearance is that of a delicate girl's. Despite her appearance, she has been a little devil since childhood, dragging me, her little brother, everywhere. As the person supporting the household, I can only imagine how strong she is. Because of this, I think my older sister is the world's strongest person. This isn't an empty thought, I have personally experienced her might since childhood…

"What is it Ah Jun? Is there something on my face?" Maybe, because I have been staring at her for so long, her face blushed when she asked me.

The students here are commoners; in fact, most of us won't even be able to recognize the brands the students from Canglan wear. Only a thin street separates us, marking the famous scene of the two completely contrasting schools.

I am just a student here, after all. Although my family may not be poor, we are still far from being able to send me to Canglan Private High School. I can only rely on guessing during multiple choice exams while the exam questions tear apart my mind. I'm definitely not the type of elite student to get recruited.

"Ah Jun!" A crisp voice calls out from behind me, and I turn around to see a short-haired, petite girl running toward me. Her skirt and hair flutter in the wind, as if she is a little flower dancing in the spring wind. En, it is just that the wind is a bit stronger now.

The girl running toward me is Xu Qian Qian. She's a good friend of mine that I grew up with. However, in middle school, her family had moved to another city, so I wasn't able to see her that often. That didn't influence the relationship between me and Qian Qian though. By coincidence, we both chose to attend the same high school, and it was a pleasant surprise. From then on, the two of us returned to our old routines. According to this plotline, we are childhood friends that have an eighty percent chance of becoming lovers in the future. My life has been pretty good from then on. In reality, even though we both feel this way, for some reason, neither of us has taken the next step yet. Not everyone is born a hero. In the case of superheroes, it's a singular moment that typically sets the individual on the path to becoming a force for good. That's what is known as the origin story. Whether it's an alien with unbelievable powers or a regular Earthling who's just trying to do the best with their natural talents, each comic book protagonist has an experience that leads them on their heroic path. And boy, have there been a lot of these told for both classic and modern heroes. 

The comic book medium has been going strong for more 75 years, and over those decades hundreds, if not thousands, of superheroes have been introduced. Typically these origin stories have been seen across a variety of media by both passionate comic book fans and people who are just looking for a good tale. And just because a hero is successful doesn't mean that they got off to the best start with their origin stories, but when these tales are told right, they're the stuff of legend. Here are some of the most famous superheroes of all time ranked by how great and epic their origin stories are.

1. The X-Men

Of course, each individual X-Men has their own unique stories, but together the team's origin tale is a classic. As mutants, they were all born with their abilities rather than imbued with them by science, magic or aliens. Consequently, many of these people face mistrust and bigotry from the general population who view them as freaks of nature. However, despite their persecution, they still use their powers to protect the innocent. Brought together by Charles Xavier, the X-Men not only combat threats ranging from fanatical humans to fellow mutants, but their overall mission is to fight for the rights of their fellow mutants and usher in a world of acceptance and peace. So even though their overall story is based in a superhero world, it's memorable because their goals are similar to what many of us want to achieve in real life.

2. The Flash (Barry Allen)

In the 1950s, DC Comics decided to relaunch several of their most successful superheroes from the 1940s as new individuals. The Flash was the first to receive this treatment, being reintroduced in 1956 as forensic scientist Barry Allen. While working late in his lab one night, he was struck by lightning, which subsequently knocked him into shelf full of chemicals. After waking up, he discovered he could run at superhuman speeds, and donning the red and yellow costume that's become much more recognizable than his predecessor's, Barry became the new Flash and built a quite a supporting cast. Visually it's one of the best origins on this list, but it also has a distinct sci-fi feel to it that few DC hero origins had before it. Many non-comic book fans saw this origin told for the first time back in October on the CW series The Flash.

3. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

Green Lantern was the second DC hero to be revitalized during the Silver Age of comic books. This time around, test pilot Hal Jordan inherited a special ring after it was bequeathed to him by a dying alien named Abin Sur who had crash-landed on Earth. Unlike the magical ring that the Golden Age Green Lantern wore, Hal Jordan's ring was a product of science that allowed him to use his willpower to fly and make solid constructs with his mind. Inheriting Abin Sur's legacy, Hal became the new Green Lantern of Sector 2814, and the first human to ever join the Green Lantern Corps. Like The Flash, it's memorable for its sci-fi feel, but also to due to how this Green Lantern inherited his heroic legacy from a mysterious visitor (which would later be repeated with Kyle Rayner) whereas his predecessor Alan Scott just sort of stumbled upon his power.

4. Iron Man

Although the location for Iron Man's origin has changed several times throughout the decades, the story itself has not. While demonstrating some of his creations abroad, Tony Stark was injured and taken captive by enemy soldiers. While in captivity, he was forced to build weapons for these terrorists, but with the help of scientist Ho Yinsen, he built a mechanical suit that allowed him to defeat his captors and escape to freedom. With a renewed perspective on life, Tony uses his new armor to protect the innocent as Iron Man. Not only is it one of best redemption origin stories and full of action as Tony escaped his imprisonment, it also showed that not everyone who becomes a superhero starts out as a moral individual. Sometimes takes a nudge (or in Tony's case nearly dying from shrapnel in your heart) to discover your true potential.

5 Captain America

Captain America's origin story wouldn't work well as an anti-drug PSA, but it's an excellent story of trumping over the odds. Steve Rogerswanted to serve in World War II, but his scrawny body and ill health prevented him from enlisting. Fortunately for him, he was chosen as the test subject for Project Rebirth, and after being injected with the Super Soldier Serum, his body became the epitome of physical perfection. Soon after the scientist who created the serum was assassinated by a Nazi spy, leaving the serum's formula lost and making Steve the only one of his kind. He subsequently became Captain America to not only to help defeat the Axis forces, but to become one of the most well-known superheroes in the present-day after being frozen for decades. As mentioned earlier, it's memorable for featuring the little guy rising up to beat the odds, but it also helps that it was an important reflection of the era he was created in and even inspired good to defeat evil in real life.
