Dun, I read so much about him and heard that during the colonization of India, the British Empire, it housed the office of British etymological intelligence. Indian recruits were trained there and sent to other Asian regions of the Silk Road to gather information. Kipling wrote about this.

Now, it was possible to look at these places ... Imbued with the spirit of antiquity.

Interestingly near the campus lived retired military, brigadier general. Interestingly, an Englishman came to him from Britain with his blond wife and children. They were relatives, the general.

There was a small shopping center near our campus, so to speak.

Then there was a large minimarket that sounds almost like an oxymoron, but it was really the biggest on this street. The owners are two twin brothers. They were respected by the whole street, according to my friend Alok from the University of New Dehli.

Next came a shop selling Indian and European sweets. Tea shop, where they sold only - tea dust. Before traveling to India, I naively assumed that in India every time leaf tea, black tea, which in our country was sold, was quietly sold in a supermarket. But no, I was mistaken. I saw only "Lipton tea bags" and "Taj Mahall in plastic bottles - tea dust." Alok said that in the capital, there is some big tea market, wholesale. But we never got to him ... but on the other hand, we were on Palik Bazaar ... there certainly wasn't just ... but more on that later ...

Then there was a shop where expensive fruits were sold, higher than at the big city market - Paltan Bazar (?). Percent on 30!

The next shop was where they sold rice, groats, the famous white, crumbly, fragrant, Dun rice. The price for 1 kg was 360 rupees, while ordinary rice cost 30 rupees. But if the Dun rice was clean, then in the usual rice there were small stones, sand, and sometimes rusty nails.

The next shop was stationery ... and behind it was Dr. Mukardzhi's private clinic (if I remember correctly). He worked there and one nurse, for consultation he took 50 rupees. Telephone booth, fax, telex, e-mail.

The end of the shopping street, the north side was occupied by a butcher, where buffalo meat was sold, at 20 rupees per 1 kg, goats at 60 rupees per 1 kg and chickens at 30 rupees per 1 kg. But this butcher did not cut the meat, and apostro sold it in one piece.

If you go back, already on the south side, there was a magic shop selling Indian clothing - Sarri and Pyanjab clothing, where the studio sewed trousers for 1 day for 200 rupees. Next, a shop selling mineral water in 2 liters and 1 liter, as well as bottles of 20 liters. The price seemed to be 250 rupees per item or so. I was surprised when I saw glass bottles of 1 liter each. For their return, they gave 30 rupees. They had Coca-Cola or Fanta. Lassi, a drink made from honey, ice and milk with the addition of saffron and mint, was also sold there. Very tasty. But then it was necessary to drink - furazalidon.  So we were recommended by the therapist before shipping. Well, anyway, there were no serious problems with health.

Then there was also a small shop where textbooks for schools, books, and stationery were sold, and the Indians bought with great enthusiasm beautiful postcards in English, with all kinds of holidays - Mother's Day, Father's Day, Devaali, New Year and Christmas, Christmas Eve .. .

She was informed that there were official formalities and it would take at least two to three months for them to come over. This delay in their coming to Moscow would give her ample time to submit her thesis which was almost at the final stage of completion.
It is said that time passes slowly especially when you have lost some close relatives. In her case, the first 2 months, after the death of her parents, had moved very slowly but thereafter, the next two-month picked up speed. Maybe she felt so because she had picked up her normal routine of going to the University, meeting the professors, discussing with them about the thesis and finally submitting it. Soon she would get her desired PhD and with it the designation of a Professor.
Before she knew it, April had arrived. She had earlier, sent out messages to her maternal and paternal relatives to come and meet her or at least send one relative from each side to discuss things with her. Her maternal grandparent was ready to send someone within a month but in case of her paternal relatives, it would take time as they would be coming from another country and that too from another town in that country.
They paternal grandparents would need a visa and to book a flight to Moscow from New Delhi, the capital of India. They hailed from Dharmshala, a small town in the mountain state of Himachal Pradesh which had become famous as a tourist attraction due to the presence of the Dalai Lama who had fled Tibet in 1959 and sought asylum in India. The Indian Government at that time had allocated upper Dharmshala called Maclord Gang area for him and his followers to settled down. After the Dalai Lama got the noble prize for peace in 1989, this area became even more famous. Since then many foreigners have been visiting Dharmshala regularly to meet him. They also come as tourists and some come to get treatment in the Tibetan system of healing.
Both her paternal grandparents were alive. Her father had been their only child and had grown up as a stubborn child and a stubborn adult. It seemed that the grandparents were equally stubborn. Even after Tania was born no one took the initiative to break the wall of no communication. It is said that when a child is born in the family, all differences are resolved. However, this did not happen in their families from both sides.

Her maternal grandparents hailed from a small village in Ukraine. They were simple folks and had a close-knit community there. At present only her grandmother was alive as her grandfather had passed away a year ago. This was the information that had been passed on to her by her maternal relatives who had come to meet her earlier.

Her grandmother had two daughters and one son. Now, there were only one daughter and one son. Both were well settled and the son and his wife along with her cousins lived in the same village. Her uncle was the head of the village level organization that looked to the development of the village etc.

Her father would converse mostly in Russian at home and in Russian or English with foreign students or foreign patients in the hospital where he worked. He knew how to speak in the Hindi language as well as in the Punjabi language. He could speak kangri the dialect of Pahari language. However, her mother would speak Russian at home and like my father, she would converse in Russian or English with foreign students or patients at the hospital. She understood Hindi very well but her spoken Hindi was not so good.

Tania, on the other hand, had been taught to speak in all the three languages since her childhood. In college, she took up Sanskrit, as an ancient language, to help her understand the texts that were available in old books. However, the languages she used to converse in were Russian and English with the colleagues of her parents as well as the patients in the hospital where they both worked as doctors.

It was getting late and time to get her dinner together. As she entered the kitchen, she remembered her mother's cooking and the making of mouth-watering dishes. Since her father was a vegetarian, her mother had stopped eating meat and had become a vegetarian too. Tania had become a vegetarian too as  meat was never cooked at home.

She made some mixed vegetables and had her dinner of mixed vegetables, salads with bread as she did not feel like making the chappatis. After finishing the dinner and washing up the utensils, she checked all the locks of the house and went to her bedroom to read a little and then sleep. Hopefully, she would be able to sleep as she had submitting her thesis.

Tania's paternal grandparents would commence their onward journey on 19th May from their hometown for Moscow and were likely to arrive on 21 st May. She had decided that she would be going to receive them.

They were to undertake the first leg of the journey by Taxi to a place called Pathankot in the state of Punjab. This route was downhill and would take them about 2 hours or so, and they would be leaving in the afternoon. At Pathankot, they would board the Rajdhani train for Delhi. It would be an overnight journey. At Delhi, they would spend the day visiting old family friends and at night they would take the flight for Moscow. Aeroflot operates direct flights from Delhi to Moscow covering a distance of 4,344 km in just 05.30 hrs. Hence, they would be reaching Moscow early morning and by the time they cleared immigration/customs, it would be 7 am.

Similarly, she had tied up with her maternal grandmother to come on the same day i.e. 21 st May. Her maternal grandmother would be leaving her village with her maternal Uncle to reach Kyiv. Upon reaching Kyiv they would head for the airport and take the flight to Moscow. The time taken to reach Moscow was 01.20 hrs and the distance to be covered was about 740 km. Tania would be receiving them also at the airport. They would be arriving at approximately the same time as relatives from India.

There was ample time for Tania to prepare the house to receive guests. So, she got down to a thorough cleaning of the rooms at the rate of one room a day. In this way, she got rid of all the junk accumulated in the house over the years.

The thorough cleaning made her tired every day and due to the tiredness, she was asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow. She was then visiting dreamland. This cleaning business literally helped her to sleep.

Since the demise of her parents, Tania had been having problems sleeping in this huge house. Her imagination had run amok. She would imagine thieves or ghosts entering the house.Any noise at night would make her jump.  In this connection, she had visited a number of doctors and had even visited a psychiatrist to help sort out the issues. All of them told her that there was nothing wrong with her and that she was a highly imaginative person. If she argued with them in order to try to put across her problems, they would get annoyed with her and tell her that they were the doctors and not her. This sort of replies by such doctors were extremely infuriating.

Tania thought to herself that she should take the bull by its horns and sort out this problem herself. The best way was to read about recurring dreams and what they meant. So, she went to the market and hunted in the bookstores. She got herself a book on how to interpret dreams.

The next few days she was literary devouring this book and managed to figure out that most dreams were our imagination and were linked to things that happened during the day as well as to some past event. As regards dreams that were the same day after day, they definitely had some meaning.

The temples and forts that she was seeing in her dreams were perhaps known to her from some previous life.

Tania is an only child born to parents of Russian and Indian origin. She has lived her entire life in Russia. After the demise of her parents in a car accident, she is left all alone in a huge house. Her paternal and maternal grandparents want to take her into their fold and plan to come to Moscow to convince her to join them in India or Ukraine. Since her childhood, she had been having these recurring dreams in which she sees herself visiting certain temples and forts. These dreams feel so real. The doctors she visits in Moscow are not able to figure out what is wrong with her. On the contrary, they tell her that she has a vivid imagination. Tania decides to search for a reply herself and reads a book on dreams as well as a few volumes on 'Past Life Regression'. 


The day her relatives arrive from India and Ukraine, she, in her dream, travels to India and meets her past self. Tania's past self had another name. Her name was Sanya and she had lived centuries ago as a princess of Kalibangan during the Indus Valley Civilisation. Sanya tells Tania of a plot to kill her in the present life. A plot had been hatched in her past life too. At that time her brother, mother and father had been murdered.

Upon knowing that her brother Karlo has someone he is wooing with, and his twin brother Mario is flirting with girls, KM pondered herself on what to do to find her one true love. With her being closely guarded by bodyguards her Dad hired, even if she's a famous singer, it's almost impossible to find a man that would truly love her as she is and not what she have. For mostly, men in the entertainment industry are just after either her publicity, or the wealth her parents have. 

She can't even count how many men were courting her, but she sees in their eyes with no sincerity, all of them are wearing plastic smiles, facade, no love but lust and greed for both fame and money she already have. Seated in the balcony of her hotel room in New Delhi, India, Zara took her phone to have a quick look since her phone has been dead on her way here and she had not been able to keep in touch with anybody.  She left the Philippines after having successfully finished her book signing sessions with a great joy and satisfaction and they then made their way to their next location which is the National capital of India and is also considered as the second-most-populous national capital by population. The city was at times chaotic but calm and surrounded by pure beauty when you passed by the colonial-era parliament buildings and discover different façade of the city from the Old Delhi to the modern New Delhi, all combined together to make it a unique city, Zara thought.  She was extremely happy to be here given the fact that she was of Indian descendants despite that she does not know anybody here.  But being in the place where it all started and to be able to share her success with the people around here gave her immense pleasure and pride.

She looked at her phone and saw one of Daeshim's messages in which he was asking her to check her Instagram feed which she did right away not knowing what to expect but to her big surprise, as she scrolled down her timeline, she came across the picture that they had taken in the car just after he had given her the couple bracelet and as she read the caption she could not help but be overflowed with contentment.  "Soon we will be together", she read it over and over again; hearted the picture and wanted to leave a comment but knew that it would not be appropriate given the fact that Daeshim had not introduced her to the world yet so she refrained from doing so but then decided to go through them to see what people might be saying.  She started reading the comments one by one; some people were expressing their happiness as he finally found someone in his life, some were eager to know who that person whom Daeshim have given his heart was, while some were writing his name along with someone else's name who goes by Mi Sun and then there was also some comments showing hate to that particular person.  

Zara failed to understand what this person had to do with all this, her name seemed familiar to her but she could not put a face on it and was confused as to why everybody were linking her name with Daeshim and why some were hating on her.  She scrolled further down the comments and came across one which read "Both were looking good tomorrow at the award, I ship them", soon she started to feel her throat tightened and it suddenly became hard to breathe, with a shaking hand she went online and looked for any article on him related to the awards function; she found one in which he was posing with his award with a big smile on his face and then she looked for both Daeshim's and Mi Sun's names and she came across an article that had a big bold title stating that the two were dating each other.  She felt like a huge blow hitting her on the face as she reads it and a fierce pain on her chest and she went completely blank not knowing how to react to this.  She read further into the article which stated that Daeshim had finally accepted he had somebody in his life given the couple bracelet that he was wearing and then Mi Sun, the famous Korean model tagged along to confirm it.  She then remembered that she was the same girl that walked down the red carpet with him months ago and an influx of emotions took over her body and mind, she stood up and started pacing back and forth on the balcony not knowing what to do.  If it was up to her, she would get a hold of that stupid famous Korean model and threw her right into the Ganges River and "what was Daeshim thinking?" She wondered as he had told her that "He would be going alone but the article does not show him as being all by himself or it might be that my eyes are playing tricks on me", she said sarcastically.  

She then sat back down on the sofa, took a deep breath and try to see through the situation.  She reminisced the time when she jumped into conclusion back in Dubai and the mess that her behavior and action had created, she did not want something like that to happen once again by giving in to her interpretation of the situation so she decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for once.  She knew they were in a relationship and since he had gone all the way to make her accept to go out with him, then he would not blew it up at the first occasion that he gets, she thought.  And since they were dating, there should be some sort of understanding and trust between them and as it is these things are bound to happen every now and then given his reputation and profession, Zara figured trying to reason herself.  She was then about to send him a message instead of calling to congratulate him for winning the award thinking that right now he might be asleep or something but just then she received a call from him and she picked it up instantly.

"Hi, how are you? Aren't you supposed to be sleeping at this time", Zara asked and added without giving him time to respond back "By the way congratulations, I am so happy for you, you made it".  Daeshim was surprised over her calm attitude as he had called her with the intention of explaining the situation to her as by now he figured that she might already have heard what happened at the award ceremony, so he wanted to clear any misunderstandings that might have popped up in her mind but then she was behaving as if everything was fine, or maybe she has not hear what happened yet, Daeshim thought.  "Zara, I need to tell you something", he said.  "I know what you are going to say and I also know that these things happen, right? I mean it won't become real if the media says it, you and I both know what the truth is so it doesn't matter what other people are saying or showing", she said in a calm manner and once again her words caught Daeshim by surprise as he had expected her to be mad but her reaction was far from showing any anger rather she was totally comprehensive of the situation and this gave a sense of warmth to his heart.  "I'm touched Zara, I don't know what to say, thank you so much for believing in me", he finally managed to respond. 

"What would have been the point of this relationship if there would be no trust between us? But anyway let's not talk about it now, let bygones be bygones", Zara said.  "You are right, and yeah, I have already informed my parents about you", and his words made Zara starting to feel nervous.  "Oh wow, I mean how did it go?" she managed to say.  "My dad was a bit stiff at the beginning you know with the cultural difference and all but then he understood, they were very supportive and I'm glad they gave their approval, and that was my biggest concern", Daeshim explained.  She pushed a long sigh of relief after hearing him and was happy that his folks were kind enough to have accepted somebody like her dating their son.  "Thank God, for a moment I thought I might have been rejected before they could even see me", Zara joked to drive away her nervousness.  "So what is your plan for today", he asked.  "Just the book signing, I don't have much time here and then I will fly to Malaysia and after that to Spain", she said all excitedly.  She could not wait to see him again and to spend some more time together of course if that would be possible given the fact that she will be busy with the book signing and him with his shooting.  "I was thinking of going on a vacation together, just the two of us, no work, no pressure, no outside interference, only us in a faraway place, what do you think?", Daeshim asked her.  "It's not a bad idea, we can do that, but for now we have to focus on our work, then we can have all time in the world to go on a vacation".  "That's correct Ma'am", he made fun of her and then added: "Anyway, I will try to get some sleep now; I hope you have a good day, bye". 

The next morning she went at the local library where the book signing was to take place and spent the whole entire day signing books and meeting her readers who were all one after the other the sweetest and nicest people ever; she received so much love and appreciation from everyone who were present that it was as if they have known her their entire life.  And Zara could not feel more grateful as the only way that she was able to connect with them all was through her stories and could not help but be baffled over the power that mere words would have to such an extent that it could leave an imprint on people's mind.  The amount of respect that she received that day from her Indian readers was unimaginable but her experience was short lived as she had very little time to spend in India as the next day she flew directly to Malaysia to have yet another extraordinary episode in her life as a rising author.  She could never have imagined that one day she would be able to live through all these fabulous moments and witnessed herself grow into such an important person for some strangers from around the world who could only get to know her through her writings.

And the days passed just like that with her book tour being successful one after the other.  She could not have asked for more and thanked the Lord a million times for if a couple of months ago she was still figuring her life out and was at a point where she was lost and was unable to find her way out, she was now slowly making her way out of the abyss and witnessing and enjoying the fruit of her hard work and perseverance.  Had she given up on her dreams and allowed herself to be taken down by the constant failure and rejection, she would have never come to know that further along the way, a whole different new world was waiting for her with all kind of good surprises.  But the point is to never let the difficult circumstances and obstacles to weigh you down; one should always keep his head above the water no matter what, she thought.  "Hwaiting": always and forever. 

And now after so many days of hard work for her book tour in different cities in the world and enjoying every bit of it, it was finally time to go to that place where Daeshim was.  "Spain, here I come", Zara murmured slowly as she sat in her seat on the plane heading to the country whose inhabitants were famous for their friendly attitude, for its outstanding cuisine and of course its festivities.  And the even more exciting fact was that he did not know she was coming, that is he definitely knew the exact date but Zara was going before that to surprise him.  Last time they talked over Skype, he was already shooting for his new TV show in one of the most beautiful places in the country like he said.  She already knew where he was staying and all she had in mind was to show up unexpectedly in front of his door and see the surprise look on his face.  And as she was busy imagining things while looking at the picture that Daeshim had posted, she was suddenly pulled out of her dreamy world by the action of a woman who was deeply asleep on the seat next to her.  She turned and while looking at her she could not help but smiled over the funny position that she was sleeping in and this brought her back to the time when Daeshim had spent the night in her apartment.  She remembered she was woken up by his constant giggle and when she opened her eyes she realized that she was no longer sleeping on her side of the bed as she came all the way in his place while he was almost close to the edge of the bed.   And he barely had place to lie comfortably as they ended up in a tangled position; and of course Zara jumped off the bed as soon as she became aware of their awkward position and they laughed it out to lighten the tensed atmosphere.  

They arrived in Spain after a very long flight late at night and headed directly to the town where they would be staying for the next couple of days.  Although she was all tired and sleepy, she could barely close her eyes out of excitement and was constantly playing her imaginary meeting with Daeshim after so many months apart.

Born in the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa, Zara is currently living a nightmare as she is still jobless at the age of thirty and while all her friends are getting married, she has been cursed with the life of a single for a long time.
