
"According to your situation, I suggest you raise a British Shorthair," Zhang Zian said to a customer who was hesitating about buying a cat.
"OK, let me consider." The customer had not decided yet.
"Eeek!"
Zhang Zian was startled, and he looked back to the stairwell to the second floor. He saw Pi extend its little head and beckon to him quietly, and then immediately withdrew its head.
"What is that sound?" The customer looked around and wondered. "Mr. Store Manager, do you have other pets besides cats, dogs, and birds?"
"No, I don't. It is the old stairs that creak when they are stepped upon." Zhang Zian made up an excuse. "Feel free to look at the pets here, and if you have any problems, you can ask the cashier for help. Now excuse me, I need to go upstairs."
After he finished the words, he quickly went back upstairs.
Recoiling in fear, Pi was waiting for him in front of the living room.
"What's wrong, Pi? Did something happen? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
He asked a series of questions.
Prior to this, Pi had never gone downstairs to find him. That was why he worried that something had happened to Pi. His greatest concern was that Pi may fall ill. He didn't know how to cure an Imaginative Elfin. Even if he could find a way to cure it, others would know about the fact that he was raising a monkey.
"Eeek!"
Pi pointed to the tablet computer anxiously, but it didn't look like it was sick.
Zhang Zian didn't understand what it was trying to say. "Go type on the desktop computer."
They entered the living room together. Pi jumped onto the swivel chair and typed in the Word document: I have tried several books, and only parts of the books could be read.
Zhang Zian didn't understand anything at first. He looked at the tablet computer, and he immediately relaxed and laughed. "Because the following chapters are only accessible until I have recharged my account. And I haven't, of course you can't read them."

Puzzled, Pi typed: Recharge?
"Yes, although web novels are not written on paper as the physical books are; just like rice, computers, drinking water, and clothes, they are also the products of the labor of others. Readers need to pay for most of the relatively exciting web novels. If the authors could not get paid for their labor, who would sit on the computer every night? Who does not know that playing games or watching movies is more comfortable than writing novels?" Zhang Zian explained.
Pi typed: Is it very expensive to recharge?

Intimidated by the rapid reading speed of Pi, Zhang Zian felt sorry for his wallet. Pi really liked online novels so much that it actually went downstairs to find him for help.

Pi gradually let its guard down in the pet shop. It no longer kept holding the untitled book all the time. When it was reading in the wicker hanging chair, it would casually put the untitled book next to the laptop on the desk.
Staring at the screen of the tablet intently, it was reading a wonderful part of a novel. It had just finished reading a chapter and swiped the screen gently with its finger as the page jumped to the next chapter.
"Pi, don't spend all your time reading books; get up and move around."
Pi looked up and saw that Zhang Zian had come to the wicker hanging chair and was looking at it with worry.
"Eeek!"
It waved its hand, suggesting that it would rest after finishing the current chapter. And then it lowered its head and continued reading. 
"Pi!"
Pi felt that Zhang Zian's tone sounded unusual. It looked up blankly, as if asking him what was going on. 
Zhang Zian said seriously, "Pi, you have been reading books for five consecutive hours, and you need to get up and move. Otherwise, you may be subject to some health issues. I'm playing hide-and-seek with Galaxy. Do you want to join us?"
"Meow!"
Galaxy appeared from behind him, staring at Pi with its silver-gray eyes.
"Meow! Pi, come and play hide-and-seek together?"
Pi looked alternately at both of them. Their expressions were very serious. Their eyes were full of fear and anxiety. They were clearly worried about Pi.
"Eeek?"
Pi stretched out a palm. It was asking if it had been reading for five hours.

Zhang Zian nodded. "Yes, when I got up in the morning, I discovered that you were reading. At that time, it was before 7 o'clock. Now it is 12 o'clock noon. I have just finished lunch and you haven't moved for at least five hours."
"Eeek."
Pi put down the tablet and jumped off the chair. Suddenly, it staggered and almost lost its balance. 
Zhang Zian rushed to support it. "Pi, are you okay?"
After reading books in the same posture for a long time, Pi found that the joints all over its body were stiff, especially the joints of its neck. Every time Pi moved its neck, it would creak like a rusted bearing. Its legs were already numb and couldn't move freely. 
"Eeek…"
Leaning its whole body against Zhang Zian, Pi put out a finger and wrote words in his palm: I'm fine. I will recover after taking a rest.
Zhang Zian looked at the frail Pi and could not help secretly regretting his choice. Why did he let Pi read online novels? Since Pi had nothing else to do, it would be fascinated by books. If Pi finished reading the limited number of physical books, it could take a rest. However, there were too many online novels. That was why it kept reading one book after another without resting.
He helped Pi into the wicker hanging chair to let it lie down and rest. He and Galaxy stood next to it to guard it.

Zhang Zian guessed that it was saying "I'm sorry". So, he comforted it, "There is nothing to be sorry for, Pi, you just need to pay attention to the time you spend in reading."
Pi nodded.
After a while, the numbness in its legs vanished, and Pi jumped up from the wicker hanging chair despite Zhang Zian's concern.
"Eeek?"
It repeatedly raised its hands to cover its eyes and then removed its hands.

"Pi, do you want to play hide-and-seek with us?" Zhang Zian guessed its meaning.
Pi nodded, looking at Zhang Zian with uncertainty. "Eeek?"
"Of course, you are welcome to join us at any time." Zhang Zian laughed. "Right, Galaxy?"
"Meow! Welcome!" Galaxy said happily. "Let's play hide-and-seek together!"
"Wait a minute, I'm going to ask Famous to play with us. That guy has been sleeping all day long. It's time for it to wake up." Zhang Zian rushed downstairs.
After a while, he returned to the second floor with the sleepy Famous and asked, "Who is going to be the seeker? Let's decide by playing rock-paper-scissors! Ready? Rock, paper, scissors!"
Before anyone had time to refuse, he had arbitrarily decided that the seeker would be selected through rock-paper-scissors.
"Meow! Paper!"
"Eeek!"
"Excuse me?" said Famous. 
As a result, both Zhang Zian and Pi formed scissors with their hands, while Famous and Galaxy formed paper with their hands.
"Wow, ha-ha. Either of you will become the seeker!" Zhang Zian smirked.
Famous stared at its claws helplessly. "You're cheating! Galaxy and I can only form the shape of paper with our hands..."
"That I don't care!" Zhang Zian scoffed. "Anyway, which one of you will be the seeker? I don't think you two can decide by playing rock-paper-scissors. Would you like to flip a coin?"
He magically pulled out a coin and bounced it into the air. The coin fell back into his palm and was covered by his other hand.
"Heads or tails? Who will guess first?" he asked.
"Meow! Heads!" Galaxy answered first.


Famous was even more speechless. Isn't it obvious that I will lose to Galaxy when it comes to guessing heads or tails? The probability of me winning is simply zero!
Zhang Zian looked at Famous mischievously and asked, "Famous, so you will choose tails?"
"No, I don't choose either side. I admit defeat." Famous sighed. "Forget it, I'll be the seeker. Why are you bullying me today?"
"What are you talking about? We were not bullying you! You lost in the rock-paper-scissors!" Zhang Zian laughed. "Just go to count—right, you must not use your sense of smell to seek us, you will be cheating if you do!"
"You are in no position to accuse others of cheating!" Famous reluctantly found a corner. Facing the wall, it closed its eyes and said, "1,2,3,4..."
Galaxy first sought a place to hide. Zhang Zian squeezed its eyes to Pi and gestured that they should hide in different places.
Pi had seen Zhang Zian and Galaxy play hide-and-seek before, but it was the first time that Pi personally participated in this game. It had been staying in the living room almost all the time and was not familiar with other rooms. Since it did not know where to hide, it finally hid itself under the desk.
After counting to 100, Famous opened its eyes and looked around. If Famous could use its sense of smell, it would be very easy for Famous to find the hiders. Even if its sense of smell was not allowed in this game, Famous just needed to spend more time to find them. After all, the pet shop was not a very large space. 
Famous had a bright idea. It yelled, "Stop hiding, I saw you!"

Chapter 197. Beijing conservatory of music (1)
The Beijing Conservatory of Music was the largest conservatory.
Together with the Central Conservatory of Music and the Northern Conservatory of Music, they are called the three major conservatory.

"Now, where should I go?"
Ren has taken some time out of an advertisement shoot to come here today but he noticed that he has a lot of time in his hands.
The lecture he wanted to attend was about composing and it would be presided over by professor Che Shu himself.
Ren also wanted to introduce himself to the professor and thank him for letting him listen to the lectures but the lecture will start in an hour.
Ren has come too early.
'Let's head to the library.'
As he has time, he decided to not waste time and head to the library. He can read books about music and composing there.
He made his way to the library and on his way, various people glanced at him because of his attire.
Ren can't do anything about it. He would be hoarded with students if he took off his mask and sunglasses but as a result, Ren was looking like someone suspicious.
Although it was weird to wear sunglasses inside a building, Ren just ignored it.
His celebrity life has made him used to wearing sunglasses.
Ignoring all the suspicious glances he received, Ren finally reached the library.
The library was full of books and Ren felt like he was in a sea of books and all the books were about music or singing.
Ren didn't even know that there are so many books about music in the world. It was shocking to be exact.
'Will there be a book on acting here too?'
Ren thought that there should be one or two books about acting in this library too but he chose to ignore the thought in his head.
He had to search through the whole library to find a book about acting and there was no guarantee that he would even find one.
He decided to focus on the books about musical theory for now.
Ren took a book out of a shelf and saw the title 'Harmonics'. He opened it and saw that all the words were in English and there was no Chinese character in it.
He took out another book titled 'The theory of music' and noticed that it was also in English.
It was not like Ren was unable to read the English characters, it was just that Ren was surprised to see so many books in English here.
Anyway, in the end, he finally decided to read a book titled 'Light music and song making'.
It was a book with a red covering and just reading the preface made him interested in it.
The book was about composing light music and how one should hold on to the emotions to bring out the true value of a song.
There were a lot of views of famous composers in the book and how just a little change can completely change a song's quality and value.
Ren was completely immersed in reading the book. He has never thought that a book about music can be so interesting.
He also felt that he had made a self discovery today. He was more interested in music than he had thought.
As he was reading the book, a silhouette suddenly approached him. It was a silhouette of a girl who was strangely wearing a big cap and glasses.
It was hard to see her full face because of that.
"Excuse me."

Ren said as he turned around to look at the girl wearing the big cap.
"Um, can you give me that book?"

This holiday I finally decided to go on a much needed vacation with Sherry. My destination was France. It was close by and had many beautiful sites and beaches. I decided the best way to travel for me without any complicated process was flying using my animagus which would be a fun flight too. So next week a falcon took off from my house and flew towards south. Its destination France.

I reached Paris in only one hour. The flight over the sea and many farm lands was fun and the sights were magnificent. The feeling I got while perching on the top of the Eiffel tower and looking down at the beautiful city of Paris was amazing. My first stop was Gringotts to take control of my mother's vault. The process was quick. All it needed was a drop of blood to verify the relation. There was no account manager. The vault did not contain any items just money. The total was 15,460G. Even with all these years of usage the vault still had this much money left in it. I decided to keep the vault open as it may come handy in the future. I exchanged some Francs from Gringotts for my expenses during the trip and left to find a place to stay. 

I booked a room in a good hotel in Paris for my stay. I was now tall enough to be mistaken for an adult and all I needed to do was apply some glamour charms on my face to fool the Hotel receptionist into believing that I was an adult. I decided to keep the adult appearance for the whole trip as it would avoid a lot of trouble for me during the trip. I visited the various museums and art galleries in France during my stay there. In my past life I always dreamed about going on a overseas trip to other countries, seeing the different beautiful sights and trying out their cuisine. So I was fulfilling my dreams during this trip and this made the trip a whole lot fun for me. I also bought a new wardrobe while going around the city as I found the clothes here much more fashionable. 

The magical part of France was beautiful but essentially not much different from Britain. The equivalent of Diagon Alley in France looked much posher and welcoming than the run down shops of Diagon Alley. The sad thing was that the things sold were the same just in a different language. There were same restrictive laws here as in Britain. I spent a week in Paris enjoying the cities sites and cuisine with a disguised Sherry. The Eiffel tower and the various palaces were fascinating to visit.
I also used my time here in Paris to collect mastery books on Alchemy since France was famous for its Alchemy knowledge due to the Flamels living here.

I did not even consider visiting the Flamels and asking them to teach me Alchemy because I did not know what kind of people they were. The Flamels made the Philosopher's stone which produced Elixir of life. They were the only ones to have succeeded making one and I did not even know how to even go about trying to make one. But from what I know, Alchemy followed the law of equivalent exchange. It was followed in all the metal transmutations I have done till now. So for the creation of philosopher's stone, the Flamel's must have sacrificed either lives of human beings, plants or animals. Since I did not know the method, I could not know for sure. So staying away from them was better. They had helped out during the Grindelwald war so they could be good people but I did not know for sure.

After Paris, I travelled around various beaches in France. The Falken family had a summer resort here but since I have not reached majority, I cannot find its location. I just relaxed and enjoyed myself in all the famous tourist beaches. There was no chance of me being sun burned due to magic so I spent most of my time outside. I spent another two week visiting all the different beautiful beaches, trying out all the water sports and relaxing. It was a much needed rest for me as I had not spent much time relaxing and having fun ever since I reincarnated into this world.

Before leaving for London, I decided to check out the Knockturn Alley equivalent of France too which to my surprise was not a gloomy and dark place. It was same as the other Alley just filled with dark wizards. I had not yet started my research on Dark Magic due to the hectic schedule I had for the past year but since my NEWT studies was over, I decided that I was not in much rush anymore and spend some of my time this year on Dark Arts research.

Since I did not own any books on Dark Arts, I decided to buy some from France first and then check out the ones in England after returning. I only spent a single day going through a lot of books and buying whichever I found interesting. By the end of the day, I was owner of books on Blood Magic, Ritual Magic, Soul Magic, Dark Potions and Dark Curses. I even avoided touching these books directly because they felt dangerous and some may have deadly curses on them. I used Dragon hide gloves just to go through them and see if the book was real. I also found a couple of books on battle magic which I readily bought. The books were costly and all together I spent 3000G on books that day.

After a long and relaxing stay in France, I was back in London. The overseas trip was still only for 3 weeks. I made it short because I wanted to check up on the Boy-Who-Lived before he joined Hogwarts. I wanted it to be longer trip next year, so I was going to choose a much bigger country as destination.

After reaching England, I went shopping at Diagon Alley. My Hogwarts letter for 4th year had already arrived so I had some shopping to do. I also used the visit to buy an OWL, as my friends were bothering me to buy one so that we could send letters to each other during the holidays. It was a strong and powerful male Eagle Owl. I named it Casper. I told Sherry to take all my stuff including Casper to the house while I went to Knockturn Alley and bought some more books on Dark Arts. I was disappointed on not finding anything unique books and in the end I only bought a couple of new books.

Now that my work for the Holidays was over, I decided to check up on the Chosen Boy and make my decision on whether I should help him or leave him to the wolves.

Chapter 8. Literature club (2)

"You don't have those books here."

"Yeah, we didn't have the books you are looking for."

Ren sighed as he looked at the library committee member.

He was currently in the library trying to find some of the novels he wanted to read.

As he was short on money, he thought that he could borrow the novels from the library.

That's why he visited the library after school but the result was unexpected.

The books he was looking for had either been taken away by someone or they are not available in the library.

"Why don't you have those famous novels?"

When Ren asked that question, the library committee member just shrugged his hands and said.

"Do you think the library would have all the books?"

"Didn't the library should at least have some famous novels?"

"I am only responsible for taking care of books, not buying them and we do have some novels if you want to read them."

Ren just sighed hearing the answer. He knew that the library have some novels but he had already read those. 

As Ren was about to leave the library, the library committee member said.

"If you really want to read those novels, I knew the place where you can find them."

"Really?"

"Yeah, you could find those books in the literature club."

"Literature club!"

Ren hadn't heard of the literature club but from its name, he can tell what kind of club it was.

"Many people don't know but there are many novels in the literature club. The teacher in charge of that club like to collect books. You could even find some light novels there."

"Can you tell me where I could find the literature club?"

"Go to the third floor. The last room there is the literature club."

The library committee member said as he started reading his book. Ren just thanked him and left. He didn't wanted to disturb him more.

"It really has many books."

Ren muttered as he entered the literature club. There were many bookshelves full of books in the room. 

Many papers were also scattered on the floor and the room wasn't very tidy but Ren didn't care about it.

His eyes were on the books. 

'There really are all kinds of novels here.'

There were almost all of the famous novels in the bookshelves. There were also novels of his favourite authors.

"Why are there light novels in the literature club?"

Ren muttered as he noticed some volumes of light novels. He was confused as to why there were light novels in the literature club but he didn't think about it much.

He was here to find some novels to read not to figure out why there were light novels in the literature club.

'Ah, here it is.'

As Ren was looking around, he finally found the book he was looking for. 

«Undeserving»

It was a book that was written by Nagami Yuu, one of his favourite authors. He was looking for that book to find some inspiration for his story.

As the setting of his book and «Undeserving» was same, Ren thought he could gain some inspiration from it.

Although the setting of both the books were the same as they were both the stories of geniuses, the plot was vastly different.

"Can I take it without asking anyone?"

Although Ren had found the book, he was hesitant to take it back as it will be considered theft If he took it without asking anyone.

'Slide!'

As he was thinking of whether to take the book or not, the door suddenly opened.

"Ah, what are you doing here….Amano-kun?"

"Nakai sensei?!"

It was Nakai sensei and a glasses wearing boy who entered the room. 

"Why is that book in your hand Amano-kun?"

Nakai sensei asked as he glanced towards the book in Ren's hand.

"Ah, no, I was just thinking of borrowing it for a bit?"

Ren answered hurriedly. He was in a awkward situation as he was seen taking the book.

He knew he had not done something wrong but the timing of the situation made him feel like he was caught stealing.

"Oh, you are just borrowing the book?"

Nakai sensei said as he came close to Ren and put a hand on his shoulder. His face was smiling but Ren felt that it was a devil smiling in front of him.

"Yes, I was just borrowing it for a bit?"

"Really? You are sure you aren't stealing instead of borrowing?"

"Yeah, I am sure."

"But you know the books in the literature club can't be 'borrowed' without the permission of the teacher in charge and that would be me."

"Huh?!"

Ren was surprised when he heard Nakai sensei's words. He really didn't knew that Nakai sensei was in charge of the literature club.

When he think about it, it also made sense, Nakai sensei was the literature teacher. It made sense for him to be in charge of the literature club.

"If I think about it, I hadn't gave you any permission to borrow a book, right."

"Ahh?!"

Ren just groaned instead of any response. He can't think of any response.

"Um, can you tell me what is going in?"

As they were talking among themselves, the bespectacled boy spoke.

"Oh, It isn't much Himuro-kun, Amano here is our newest member "

"Huhhh?!"

Both Ren and the bespectacled boy named Himuro shrieked loudly at Nakai sensei's words.

"What are you saying? When did I joined the literature club?"

"Do you want me to report to the discipline committee that you were stealing books?"

"Ah! Are you blackmailing me?"

"No, I will not use those petty methods. It is a equivalent exchange. You can borrow those books without any permission if you joined the literature club. Don't you think it is a good thing for you."

"Huh!"

Ren fell in  thoughts at Nakai sensei words, it was true that he will be able to borrow books from the literature club if he joined it but he had to give up his free time if he really did that.

"Is it really worth it?"

Ren thought about it for some time and after thinking about the prices of novels in the market, he finally made up his mind to join the club.

It wasn't like he had to give up something valuable for it, it will only take his free time.

"So, what do you think about it?"

"Ah, I will join the club."

Ren said as he softly sighed and Nakai sensei had a huge smile on his face when he heard Ren's response.

When Aizu heard about Yale's Healing Elemental Affinity, she didn't know how she should feel.
Yale had saved her before and even healed all her injuries, but at the same time, Yale stole all the limelight in the healing class.

As for George and Zack, she ignored them because they only attended one magic class.
Maybe they could help Yale more in their respective element, but in overall magic practice, Aizu was really the one who was at the highest level after Yale.
To Aizu, it was impossible to avoid thinking that they were very close after Yale carried her like a princess when she was injured.
It was subconscious, but after that moment, she didn't leave Yale's side even when they went to observe the teacher's healing magic.

Furthermore, the next teacher was also late, so both of them were left alone in the classroom.
They stood in silence until Aizu finally asked Yale.
"So, you have a master. Is he a teacher of the academy?"
She was surprised when Yale mentioned particular lessons with his master, that wasn't something usual.
However, some teachers sometimes took a liking to a student, and then that student became a personal disciple of the teacher.
"I have a master, but he isn't a teacher here. He came to the academy with me and is staying here as a guest of the chairman."
Swordmad's existence wasn't something that Yale would try to hide; he felt prideful to have him as master and would never deny their relationship.
"A guest of the chairman?"
Aizu looked confused; the chairman was one of the most powerful entities in the whole city, someone who was his guest couldn't be normal.
"Yes, my master and the chairman are old friends. As I had an incident with the clan when I was leaving it to attend the academy, my master needed to help me, and, in the end, he also ended leaving the clan to come with me."
Aizu was astonished by Yale's words, a master who was the chairman's old friend and could confront a clan for the sake of his disciple. Aizu also wanted to have such a master, but her luck wasn't as good as Yale's.
While the poison class teacher was still missing, Yale and Aizu spoke a lot about their lives and found that both had situations pretty similar, even though Aizu's one was worse due to lacking any support.

Aizu was the only one who also attended all the Magus Classes, and her talent was outstanding.
Thus, she was a good magic practice companion for Yale.
The Magus Classes had no time to practice, only time for showing skills, so practice should be done in free hours.
Yale could practice the Battle Skills in the Warrior Classes with George and Zack, but he didn't have someone to practice spells with him.
Yale could always ask his sister, but she didn't train all the elements, and Yale also didn't want to interfere with her training.
Furthermore, having a training partner with a similar level as his own was the best option to let both parties improve fast.
Aizu became very happy at Yale's answer, but then the happy mood did fade away as the teacher arrived.
It was a gloomy middle-aged man, with black hair and a serious face, he was just the opposite to the warm-looking old woman from the healing class.

Both of them didn't dare to speak as the teacher seated and started to read a thick book.
That kind of class could have been boring for almost everyone, but Yale was a bookworm, so he liked a lot having an hour for reading new books.
Furthermore, with the system's database, remembering every detail would be easy for him. However, even Yale wouldn't be able to read all the books in a single class.
Aizu also didn't have any problems regarding reading books, as she also used to be a loner, she spent a lot of time reading even if she didn't reach Yale's extremes.
The class ended as silently as started; the teacher didn't even bother to retrieve the books. Yale and Aizu were responsible for taking care of them until the next class.
The last class was the Darkness Elemental Class; that time, four guys and one girl came to attend it.
The teacher also had a gloomy face, but he was an old man, and his voice was grave in contrast with the monotone voice of the previous teacher.
That class helped Yale to understand better how his Stealth Passive Skill worked as its effect fitted with the darkness element.
However, he didn't obtain any enlightenment about it, obtaining enlightenment wasn't that easy after all.
Yale and Aizu were the only ones who didn't show any spells in that class.
Out of the other five students, the girl was the one with the best abilities in the darkness element, but the four guys weren't far from her.
However, their exhibitions of spells didn't amaze Yale nor Aizu.
Because they could be sure that those five didn't have more than a mid-low grade talent in darkness.
Furthermore, those five didn't attend any other class; the darkness element was most likely their only affinity.
That class also ended, and the first day of lessons finished to everyone except Yale, who still had his particular lesson with Swordmad.
Yale said goodbye to Aizu, and they agreed to meet at six o'clock to train magic.
Aizu didn't want to say goodbye to Yale, but she didn't have any valid reason to accompany him, so she could only leave.

Aser spent the next few hours focusing on completing his daily Essence Cultivation. After restarting, he instantly noticed that there was an improvement to his rate of Essence Cultivation. The earlier insight and creation of the [Essence Flash] skill had increased his understanding quite a lot, and a breakthrough to 23 Essence Per Hour didn't seem far. Although he was able to reach 22 Essence Per Hour in a month, it was evident to him that increasing it again within a short period of time wasn't possible. 

Stretching his body upon completion, Aser checked his current essence. It was sitting at 270/3200, and if everything goes according to plan, he will be Unknown Level 6 at the start of the term. While this might seem normal from his perspective, Aser knew that the average student would start with at most Unknown Level 3. Granted, the First Son's Academy wasn't an average academy either, so it wouldn't be weird to see the exceptional first years being equal to him in cultivation. The speed for leveling up after Unknown Level 6 would drastically slow down though, as the earlier levels were far easier to breakthrough. 

The moon was already shining brightly outside, the grounds relatively quiet with the flickering of Light Crystals illuminating the distant buildings and dormitories. Shaking the urge to go to bed, Aser decided to look at the subject he would need to cover for the first exam. Surprisingly, it was about Essence! Knowing that he still didn't have a great grasp on the basics of Essence, Aser memorized the names of all the books required for the trial and went downstairs to retrieve them.

The first floor of the library had a ghost-like silence amidst its towering shelves and gentle crystal luminescence. Locating the aisle for Essence, the boy retrieved the few books that were in his reach and put them on top of a nearby trolley. Looking around, he spotted a step ladder to help in his gathering venture. After about a dozen minutes, the trolley was precariously stacked with books on top of each other. Rolling the trolley towards the stairs, Aser let out a sigh, his eyelids fluttering and slightly closing. 

Back in the study room after a few trips retrieving all the books, he decided to briefly go over all of them while Ashes was compiling the information into materials for him to study. Right away, he noticed that even though his basics were shoddy on the subject, he knew a lot of the broader topics and even some of the advanced ones. After familiarizing himself with most of the topics involved in the collection in front of him, Aser realized that what Ashes had gathered for him through [Essence History] wasn't systematic. The information was there, but due to Ashes never having actually gone through the topic written by researchers, she hadn't been able to categorize the topics in a meaningful way, but instead had done it through connecting similar topics together, regardless of their level of difficulty. 

At the moment though, Ashes would divide the hundred tomes required for the first Library Trial in to four volumes in the System Library. The volumes would be a supplement to his current Knowledge regarding Essence Cultivation and each finished volume would also result in a 25% progress on the trial. The 4-day study plan would then allow Aser to complete the trial in the shortest amount of time while learning the essentials of the topic. And this would continue for all the other Library Trials afterwards for this month, hoping to finish at least 5 trials by the start of the new school year. Even though he could finish the task for the trial, unfortunately, he couldn't submit them until the term started, and so wouldn't get any of the rewards either. 

Waiting for her to finish copying the contents to her memory, Aser went ahead and retrieved the 5th book of the "General Knowledge on Professions for advancement from Unknown Rank" series. He already had a good idea on the Profession he wanted to progress towards. It was demanding, but he felt as if it would be his best option with the advantages Ashes gave him. It was a Hybrid Profession, focusing on the Knowledge-type, with the Social and Warrior fields as sub-types.

Even though Gambits weren't a popular profession and had very high requirements in order to be certified as one, Aser felt this was a field made for him. He knew it would be a long road in order to even become a Rookie Gambit, much less any of the higher ranks in the field. Even the most famous Gambit in recent times had only been an Adept Gambit who went missing two hundred years ago! Disregarding the disadvantages to the field, the advantages were numerous. All sizes of organizations would want to employ a Gambit among their staff, but due to their rarity, 95% of small or medium organizations wouldn't even find one, and larger organizations had only a few among them. 

Gambits were also in charge of Intelligence in most organizations, and thus had a high position naturally. They were feared cause not only due to their knowledge about almost everything, but also due to their combat prowess. Unlike traditional Knowledge based jobs, Gambits require combat training as well, as such most Gambits even have a Warrior sub-profession. The most famous Gambit in the history of Gigantes, Sun Tze had said, "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles."

Thus, it can be seen how formidable a good Gambit would be, for organizations as well as any adventuring squad. It was also in line with Aser's current philosophies in regards to combat, where he would rather strategize and stay far from the opponent instead of fighting with his fists.

Looking at the moonlight streaming through the glass panel, Aser got up to and started carrying the books downstairs once more, placing them from where he had retrieved all of them previously. Finished with the work, he went back into the study room to call it a night.

While drifting off to meet the sandman, Aser realized that this was the first time he was sleeping in a new environment. Somehow, the foreign study room seemed just as cozy as his bed in the orphanage. Perhaps, it wasn't that he didn't miss the orphanage, but both seemed to not be home for him. Perhaps, he was simply born to be someone who would never have a home.

Beasts had unlocked their System during the Ancient Era, and were once the rulers of the world. Reima just pays for the room and explains that she's a friend and they're looking after her for the moment. He shrugs it off as this is probably a normal occurrence, additionally it seems the magical world values  children above all due to the low population. Any attack on a minor is seen as the worst of the worst and could easily put you in Azkaban.
Reima ends up renting his and Ciri's old rooms, the two adjacent to each other provided easy access should they need something. Nerissa goes with Ciri, apparently not willing to let go even for sleep.

Deciding to just let Ciri comfort the girl Reima dives into the books of Morgan le Fay that he'd found in the "Secret" secret room in the basement. Skimming through some of the books to find the particularly interesting ones, he comes across a book fully detailing Morgan's transformation into becoming an Animagi, this was incredibly useful as the other books on the subject he had read only gave vague descriptions on what he actually had to do... Here however, it feels as if the  ancient powerful witch was teaching him personally, if he were to put this in an auction after being verified he might become the richest man in wizarding Britain... Or richer than he already is? An artifact dating back to the time of Merlin and his greatest rival would surely draw attention to him however, and he had no intention to sell this book of before reaping all of the benefits.

Before, the books simply stated that through meditation he'd eventually find his animal and slowly start transforming, even after finding the diary on theories of various Animagi transformations he still only had a vague idea of what to do. These new books however, give a full detailed explanation on the process, is your Occlumency is good enough and you meditate during a full moon you'll get a look at your form, of course how detailed it is depends on your forms personality... If it's a predator that stalks prey it might be incredibly difficult to actually discover what your animal is, this is the reason not many people have completed the transformation. This was probably also the reason the marauders found it so easy to transform with their half-assed potion, the book actually speaks of people who'd skip the most essential parts to quickly gain the form. this forces some of the animals actual personality into the person, rather than the persons personality deciding the animal... Back onto the Marauders, from what Reima can remember the books theory explains quite a lot, James Potter and Sirius black found it the easiest as their forms were not shy at all. Peter Pettegrew took the longest, not due to him lacking the talent, but because his form of a rat was probably incredibly hard to discover.

Either way, he'll not take the easy route to gaining this ability and will not allow Ciri to either. Not that he knows how to create the potion anyway, the book states that the potion is an abomination of the original method and should be purged from history...

Continuing to read further it states that after you've found your animal you'll have to slowly meditate and try to passively transfigure your body into the animal. There is not spell needed and you don't have to be talented in transfiguration either, instead it's all about imagination. Essentially you're overlaying your animal's form over your own, imagining what it'd take to transform into it... It has scaled skin? How would your skin transform into that? It has wings? What muscles must be changed to adapt to that? And so on.

He stops reading there as he's not even discovered his animal yet and getting too far ahead of himself could have unforeseen consequences, instead he tries to rememer how the moon looked last night to find out how long it'll be until he can discover his animal... Almost full? he isn't an expert on astrology which will become readily apparent when he takes his Hogwarts test, he didn't put that much effort into learning either as stars and constellations change with each different universe h enters. Trying to memorise such thing would prove to be a pointless endeavour.

Sitting himself on the floor he starts to meditate, he was incredibly wary of actually attending Hogwarts, he knew the headmaster was a master Legilimens and would be able to breach his mental shields if he was off guard... Hopefully his short time training Occlumency would be able to hold off his unobtrusive scans, the last thing he needs is a nosy mage in his business. Another thing he was curious of was the famous sorting hat, well, not famous in the magical world as it was almost a taboo to talk about it, but famous in his old world. He wasn't sure what house he'd actually be in... Hopefully he'd be in the same house as Ciri as it'd make it easier to train her if they followed a similar scheduel, although he was sure they wouldn't be in the same grade.

Wait, what were they supposed to do with Nerissa? They couldn't exactly take her to school with them, he had promised to take care of her in her mothers stead and he was very opposed to leaving her with someone as he felt he was the only one powerful enough to keep her safe...
He sighs and continues meditating, deciding to leave these problems for future Reima.

Most people who die and are confronted with a godlike being like to take the easy route... Not this guy.

I have been sitting on this concept for a while and want to see if I can write it, starting with the Witcher then the game Absolver and then onto Darksouls 1.
