The sound is loud. Can you please stop it?
Gwen really bothered with guitar sounded from the next door. Can she even get a so called princess sleep for only a few minutes? All this driving her crazy ????

SALEM: She wanted the tent. She spoke as though it was already hers.

I said, "That's my tent."

"Oh, I thought you'd sleep next to the fire."

"No, you'll sleep next to the fire."

Somehow this argument felt extremely juvenile. But as her captor I had to make sure that she didn't become too comfortable. Remind her what the power balance was in this relationship.

She said, "With my magic sealed, I won't be able to keep warm at night. What if I freeze to death? What would you do then? I know you are under contract to deliver me alive. Can't deliver a frozen corpse now, can you?"

I gritted my teeth. There she goes again.

But what annoyed me was that she was right. Without her magic, she was just as fragile as a human. Which meant the freezing temperatures at night will affect her.

She said, "If you really want the tent, just remove these shackles and I'll happily sleep outside."

"Oh-ho? And you promise you won't kill me?"

"Promise!"

I burst out laughing. Elina smiled.

I said, "You really think I'm that stupid?"

"It was worth a try."

In the end, she slept in the tent. Why did I give her the tent? I mean I was the one who held her captive, right? She should've slept in discomfort while I, her captor, enjoyed the tent.

But that didn't happen.

In the end, Elina slept in the tent. Why?

I wasn't sure either. Maybe because I was afraid of her sharp tongue. Considering how much she complained about the cold and how I fed her, she would've yammered through the night if I left her by the fire. Probably would've said I wasn't much of a man if I did that to a lady.

Anyways.

I didn't sleep that night. I sat by the fire, watching the tent from the corner of my eye. Why didn't I sleep? Because I didn't trust her. Maybe she found a way to take off the gransia handcuffs. Maybe she found a way to cast magic. Maybe she was just toying with me, waiting to kill me in my sleep.

But if she did manage to get the handcuffs off, why wait until I was asleep?

It should be safe to sleep.

But I never sleep around a live witch.

Which was fine with me. On a usual witch hunt, I wouldn't sleep for several nights in a row. Witches tended to be active during both the day and the night. Something in their magic kept them awake. So to track one, I had to work the same way.

When the sun cracked the horizon, I got up and went to the tent. Looked inside and there she was. Right where I left her. Kind of.

Elina was wrapped in a blanket and curled up in a ball. Shivering.

I said, "You look cold."

Elina flashed a stiff smile. "How can a human body be this fragile?"

I shrugged. "You should've slept by the fire."

Elina got up. She moved mechanically, as though ice had formed around her joints.

"What's for breakfast?" she asked.

"Fresh air and exercise."

"I meant food."

"Fresh air and exercise."

"You really are no gentle — "

I stuffed some leftover corn into her mouth. Then I loaded her onto the cart.

There was always something about the early morning that calmed me. Erased any worries from heart and mind. The air was so still, so devoid of any sound, as though the world had decided to live in harmony. The chilly air cleared the fog in the mind, the first rays of the day warmed the body.

Even the birds were quiet. I breathed in. I breathed out. It was at times like these when the solitude of traveling alone became more obvious than ever.

But I wasn't alone.

"It's nice, isn't it?" Elina said.

"Yes."

"Most witches can't appreciate the morning...it's when our magic is at its weakest, but I personally like it."

"You shouldn't have told me that. I'm a witch hunter."

"Heh heh...even in the morning it will be impossible for you to lay a hand on me."

I opened my mouth, but said nothing.

The stillness of the morning was disturbed by something. A sound. Somewhere in the distance. I closed my eyes and listened. The sound of wheels turning, a horse neighing. A traveler. Coming the opposite way.

I glanced back at Elina. She tilted her head. "Hmm, what is it?"

All his stats were now whole numbers. That was the first change that caught his eyes. That was also the only change that caught his eyes as everything else was obvious. It was still night so he decided that it was for the best if he just went back to sleep. It was also at this time when he heard the ringing go off inside his head.

The very first thing he noticed was the fact that he wouldn't die if he didn't kick five times with his left leg. The next thing was the fact that reward said "physical stats". 'Huh, physical stats? I guess intelligence might be a mental stat.' He had 24 hrs but he decided to complete the quest now to confirm his guess. Kicking five times was actually not an easy task, especially given the fact that he was a newborn. Justifiably, he was pretty puffed out by the end of it. Hearing the signature ringing, he checked his stats again. Indeed, just like he had predicted, every stat except intelligence had increased by 0.02. 'Okay, so that confirms it.' He yawned and closed his eyes, when he was interrupted by another ringing sound. Icarus wasn't surprised though as the quests have always come when he least expected them.

'Now this is a quest I like.' He closed his eyes and fell asleep almost instantly. In his defence, he was dead tired to begin with from the exercise, it was counted as intensive for a newborn.

Sana was awoken by the first rays of dawn. Sitting up, she realised that Icarus was still asleep. Yawning she slowly stood up and walked out, finding Daedalus in the kitchen preparing breakfast. 'Morning honey, how was your sleep?' He asked as he cracked two eggs over the pan. The sizzling sound filled the living.
'It was the best I have had in a while, Icarus is also still asleep.' She nodded, before asking, 'what did you find out?'
Daedalus paused before taking two breads and placing them over the eggs. 'It was...weird. Let me serve the eggs, I'll explain.' He flipped the eggs and placed them on two separate plates. The table was already setup so he just placed one plate in front of Sana and sat down with the other. 'As it turns out, they didn't see much of anything.'
'What? How is that possible?' Sana's jaw dropped open as soon as she heard that.
'The destiny avatar blocked them.'
'Wh-what? How? How can a mere phantom be so powerful?'
Daedalus smiled at his wife. It was rare to get such a startled expression out of her. 'It just goes to show the level of our son's achievements.'
Sana sighed at this. 'Speaking of our son, we need to read his stats.' They both finished breakfast before coming back inside their. Focusing on their son, their eyebrows shot up when his status screen showed up in front of them. They both stared at each other before heavily sighing, the same thought going through their heads; 'he has stats of a full grown unawakened adult!'

Icarus was woken up by another ringing. The first thing he did was surprisingly not pull up the quest though.
'Waaah!' His first actions were naturally of crying. He had been hungry for almost a twelve hours now, being only breast fed once. The only way of letting his parents was through crying. After drinking his fill, he pulled up the quest screen to find that he had completed his previous quest and at the same time, he had a new daily quest.

Icarus sighed and repeated the same process as he had done so earlier. The quests also came in a predictable pattern, allowing him to fall into a routine. He would wake up, drink, exercise and go back to sleep. It wasn't until he was a few months old that he actually had a chance to play with his parents. Especially his mother, she would play with him for almost the entire time he was awake. Although that was the case, he was never able to peacefully fall asleep in her arms. No, it was only in the arms of his father that he would find the peace he needed to sleep. He didn't know how or why this was the case but it just was. He also learned a great deal about the world he was currently living in. Apparently it was called Highenheim and the currently continent of residence was Thrinacia which was ruled by the Helios empire. His parents Daedalus and Sana appeared to be normal farmers and the whole world seemed to be at the medieval level technology. 
He also learned a great deal about the farmhands. Although he never went more than 10 metres from the house, he learned the names of a few close farmhands, such as Caylus, Holt, Sim, Leah and Martha. As for the language, he wasn't at all worried about that since he had grasped it with the first few hours of hearing it due to the same lexicon as his previous life. The words were also almost the same, only some of them being somewhat archaic. Basically, Icarus' first six to seven months were spent on learning about his environment, his parents and the world in general. It was a breeze and he felt it was no problem at all. That was the case until nine months after his birth.

Icarus made a choice, leading him to a mistake. A mistake which cost him almost everything that was dear to him. He died wishing for redemption and in death, he was offered a choice again. 'As with every choice, you pay a price and gain a privilege'. Will Icarus be able to afford the privilege or will he pay the ultimate price?

The great advantage of early rising is the good start it gives us in our day's work. The early riser has done a large amount of hard work before other men have got out of bed. In the early morning the mind is fresh, and there are few sounds or other distractions, so that work done at that time is generally well done.
In many cases the early riser also finds time to take some exercise in the fresh morning air, and this exercise supplies him a fund of energy that will lost until the evening. By beginning so early, he knows that he has plenty of time to do thoroughly all the work he can be expected to do, and is not tempted to hurry over any part of it. All his work being finished in good time, he has a long interval of rest in the evening before the timely hour when he goes to bed. He gets to sleep several hours before midnight, at the time when sleep is most refreshing and after a sound night's rest, rises early next morning in good health and spirits for the labours of a new day.
It is very plain that such a life as this is far more conducive to health than that of the man who shortenes his waking hours by rising late, and so can afford in the course of the day little leisure for necessary rest. Any one who lies in bed late, must, if he wishes to do a full day's work, go on working to a correspondingly late hour, and deny himself the hour or two of evening exercise that he ought to take for the benefit of his health. But in spite of all his efforts, he will probably produce as good results as the early riser, because he misses the best working hours of the day.
It may be objected to this that some find the perfect quiet of midnight by far the best time for working. This is no doubt true in certain cases. Several great thinkers have found by experience that their intellect is clearest, and they can write best, when they burn the midnight oil. But even in such cases the practice of working late at night cannot be commended. Few men, if any, can exert the full power of their intellect at the time when nature prescribes sleep, without ruining their health thereby; and of course the injury done to the health must in the long run have a bad effect on the quantity of the work done.

Pitch-black and boundless. Two phrases that shouldn’t be put together. But if you were to use them to describe the universe, it would be appropriate.

But even in the pitch-black universe, on occasion, there would be some beautiful sights. For example, right now!

A ray of silver light streaked past the dark space, flying off into the distance.

This was a spaceship. A passenger spaceship that was quite frequently seen in the New Era, also known as an interstellar shuttle. It was usually around 534 meters long, 168 meters wide, and colored white. This was the color of the Northern Alliance, the most powerful of the three great powers which arose after humanity entered the New Era.

This interstellar shuttle was capable of simultaneously carrying both passengers as well as large amounts of cargo. It had a pre-determined route. It would jump through the safe wormholes which humanity had discovered during the past hundred years which led to each of the stars which humanity governed.

Not too far away, an enormous planet was visible. This was the capital planet of the Northern Alliance, the planet of Luo. This was an administrative planet which was even larger than the planet of Skyfire, and half of its surface was suitable for human life.

Drawing near its target, the interstellar shuttle’s speed began to lessen as it prepared to make an atmospheric entry into the planet of Luo.

When entering the atmosphere, the speed couldn’t be too fast, as otherwise, even an interstellar shuttle would break apart.

Just as the interstellar shuttle was slowly down to roughly three times the speed of sound, the empty space to its left suddenly distorted slightly, and a faint shadow suddenly, silently attached itself to it.

What was even more astonishing was that the interstellar shuttle didn’t react at all. Its sensitive radar seemed to have been completely unable to sense the presence and arrival of this shadow.

Suddenly, the interstellar shuttle shook powerfully. Its left side began to reveal traces of faint blue electric bolts, and the entire shuttle began to shudder violently.

“DIIIII! DIIIIII! DIIIII!”

Within the interstellar shuttle, ear-piercing warning klaxons were going off!

Bosen [Bei’seng] was an interstellar shuttle pilot of thirty years, who had over a hundred thousand hours of piloting experience. This captain was an old pro. Hearing the warning klaxon from the ship, he picked up the communication tool in an unhurried, unpanicked manner.

“All employees, please take your seats and fasten your seat belts. We have encountered some static electricity in the atmosphere, and will temporarily postpone our passage through the atmosphere. Most interstellar shuttles had roughly 70% of their renovated space reserved for holding cargo. Only the remaining space was used for holding employees, and of course the passenger cabin.

The passenger cabins were divided into three types. The first class cabin, the middle cabin, and the economy cabin, which was also known as the commoner class.

The three different cabins naturally had astronomically different prices, and each had their own services.

Each person in the commoner cabins only had a square meter of personal space, a simple seat, and were locked in place by metallic bonds, as though they were being chained up for punishment. When reaching light speed, the only support their heads had for when they were in deep sleep was a helmet which definitely couldn’t be described as comfortable.

The middle cabins was slightly better. At least, it allowed for a person to lie down while wearing the helmet. Thus, when waking up out of deep sleep, at least they wouldn’t feel as miserable as those people in the commoner cabin, whose entire bodies would feel sore, as though they had been beaten.

As for the first class cabins, it could only be described using the phrase ‘lavish’. Every single first class cabin had twelve square meters of space, including a proper, comfortable sleeping berth, a lavish seat that could be sat on or reclined on, and a shower as well as a changing room.

When sleeping within these sleeping berths during interstellar travel, not only would they receive the best rest, more importantly, these sleeping berths were equipped with nutritional liquids that could allow their bodies to be in a state which used up very little energy, to the point where the aging process was greatly slowed. After all, every single long-distance journey would take perhaps more than a month. Compared to those in the commoner cabins who over the course of the journey would perhaps lose at least a terrifying ten pounds of body weight, the first class cabins would actually help their passengers be in peak condition.

The price of a first class cabin was ten times that of a middle cabin, and a hundred times that of a commoner cabin!

Most standard interstellar shuttles only had around thirty or so first class cabins. After all, very few people would choose to pay such an astronomical price. The middle cabins were already enough to satisfy the needs of most ordinary people, who only wanted their bodies to not be damaged during the passage.

Leng Lingxi, undergoing the deep sleep awakening protocols, slowly escaped from his deep slumber.

“Uhhh….what a wonderful sleep.” She murmured, then looked through her mask and found the green button which opened and closed her cabin. With a gentle push, the cover above her sleeping berth opened.

Leng Lingxi sat up from the middle of the viscous nutritional fluid, revealing her slender, fine lines. She removed the mask on her face and took a deep breath of fresh air. Instantly, she revealed a relieved look on her face. However, she immediately began to brush off the liquid on her arm with a look of some disgust.

“Sleeping in a first class cabin is comfortable, but these nutritional liquids are really unpleasant. Can’t they improve it to something which is similar to clear water?”

There were partitions to every single first class cabin. Even if the first class cabins were all full, as long the partitions weren’t pushed open, nobody would be able to see anyone else.

Climbing out of her sleeping berth, she rinsed off the rest of the nutritional liquid in the shower, then put on a clean set of clothes. Leng Lingxi immediately felt much better.

She made several stretching motions and did a few yoga movements, then walked towards her seat while opening her partition.

The partition next to her slowly opened with a gentle, metallic sound, revealing the walkway for her cabin as well as the outside scene.

Hey, someone was even faster than me? Leng Lingxi looked with some surprise towards the left partition. That partition was also opened, and there was someone sitting on a seat.

This was a young man with short black hair, deep blue exercise clothes, and an extremely handsome face.

Someone seated in first class was wearing exercise clothes? This discovery caused Leng Lingxi to be unable to retrain her curiosity. This was the first time she had seen a guest like this in first class. Generally speaking, shouldn’t most people change into crisp suits or chic apparel, so that they would be ready to start working as soon as they disembarked the shuttle?

Skyfire Avenue is a street that is 2048 meters long. There are 168 stores here, and each of the store owners is an extremely powerful adept. The Avenue does not permit any vehicles or any robots to pass through it, much less mecha. Even the patrolling police must move about on foot. This is because this is a street for pedestrians, a lane for nobles, hidden away within this high technology world. Lan Jue, the greatest of the mercenaries, code-named ‘Zeus’, has secluded himself here in Skyfire Avenue after the death of his wife. The name of his shop is “Zeus’ Jewelry Store”, and here in Skyfire Avenue, he has been given the title, Jewel Master.

Pizza was delivered and the two ladies ate while cracking jokes at each other. All that was in the air was filled with laughter. ZhenZhu had long gone chosen to forget about the incident at Doctor Xiao's car in order to maintain peace. She didn't want to keep recalling those terrifying and embarrassing moments at any point as she rubbed Angel's back while Fei Shuang couldn't take her eyes off from the tv series. She didn't know how or when she became addictive to fantasy series and could spend hours without doing anything. 

Before they knew it, the sky already turned dark by the time the shows were over. They actually did nothing important for half the day.  Fei Shuang had the urge to pee after finishing a whole family bottle-size of coke. So, ZhenZhu assisted her to the bathroom and thought taking a bath would be nice too. Tomorrow would be a busy and fun day since the ladies gang would drop by.

*Creak*

ZhenZhu helped Fei Shuang climb the bed from the empty side making a sound when they climbed. Fei Shuang decided to take a nap and wake up at 12 in the midnight to watch her new favorite drama, THE SECRET OF THE THREE KINGDOMS.

Fei Shuang dropped her tired body on the bed after creating a distance for ZhenZhu to sleep later. With a sigh, Fei Shuang pull the clean blanket as she tried to sleep. She thought she would be able to sleep since ZhenZhu no longer hold grudges against her but suddenly remembered of calling her savior.

"Shit, I should have done that earlier. Now where did i kept that piece of paper before?" Fei Shuang murmured as she arose from bed. She thought for a while before remembering she placed it at the inside the back of her phone case.

She load the numbers and cross checked before dialing the number.

It rang for seconds before it was answered, "Hello." A cold voice of a matured woman rang through the phone.

Fei Shuang hesitated at first with furrowed eyebrows after hearing a cold voice, 
"...Hi,am i speaking to Madam Yang?"

"Yes. Who is it?" Madam Yang maintained her cold tone.

"My name is Fei Shuang. I'm the woman you saved at the jade belt road bridge. I wanted to—"

"Oh you must be Miss Fei. I'm sorry for being too blank on the phone earlier. How are you feeling now?" Madam Yang's coldness suddenly lessen and was pleasantly surprised as she realized the person on the phone was the young woman she saved.

"I'm feeling much better Madam Yang,i wanted to thank you for saving my life. From hence fort," Fei Shuang immediately followed up, "I owe you big time."

"Ahh Miss Lee, please don't speak of such words. Anyone in his right senses won't hesitate to help a dying soul. You don't owe me anything. And please call me Yang Mi, you make me feel so old by adding Madam."

"... Alright Ma— Yang Mi. Thanks once again."

"It's no big deal." Yang Mi didn't know why, but she couldn't hold herself back from asking, "Do you mind if we could meet up tomorrow?"

"...well my friends would be coming over tomorrow, how about on Friday by 2 PM?" Fei Shuang blinked a few times because she wanted to spend the whole day with the ladies. She missed them a lot lately.

She then dropped back on her bed and stared at the ceiling for a while before finally closing her eyes to fall asleep.

The rest of the night passed with Fei Shuang sleeping and even forgot to set an alarm for the midnight series.

Getting up very early in the morning, Fei Shuang practiced the self exercise that Mr Shen taught her about yesterday since she had no appointment until tomorrow. First, she slowly help herself adjust to a sitting position on top if the bed, with eyes closed, breathes out stale air and breathes fresh air in, and then with full intention, performed the arm raises. Mr Shen explained fully on how arm raises helps to strengthen the deltoid muscles on top of one's shoulders. Next,she performed the shoulder presses exercise which helps improve one's ability to reach overhead before stopping to go out and eat.

At that time, ZhenZhu already finished making breakfast and was about to go and wash up when Fei Shuang came out from her room. 

"You're up so early today. Here, breakfast." ZhenZhu smiled as she picked up an apple from the table.

"Yeah,i guess I slept up early." Fei Shuang paused after seeing a plate of fries accompanied with egg sauce then look back at ZhenZhu, "Why didn't you wake me up to watch the midnight show?"

"You had a busy day yesterday, so I thought it would be better if you had a sound sleep." ZhenZhu slowly chewed on a bite of apple as she dropped a mug filled with black coffee on the table for Fei Shuang.

Fei Shuang with a smile on her face, went silent after that and carefully sipped the black coffee.

After taking breakfast, ZhenZhu helped Fei Shuang take a bath and get prepared for their friends arrival. The two lazy women ordered some snacks for the visitors while waiting for their arrival.

"They're here! I'm coming!"ZhenZhu exclaimed as she rushes for the door.

"You're worth finding, worth knowing and worth loving. You and all your one million layers." Like a final crack in a dam causing the whole thing to burst, a torrent of that soothing energy seemed to wash over Michael's being, leaving him feeling a calm and serenity he couldn't quite put his finger on. The tangle of string had been completely smoothed out, and he even felt that his thinking was a bit sharper than it had been previously. 

"System, what is this sensation I'm feeling?"

"Hey, kid. Hopefully it hasn't been too long since you last heard from me. If it's still your birthday, then congratulations once again - you haven't disappointed us yet. I'm not sure what the context is, but if you're hearing this then you just got your first taste of The Carrot.  You didn't think I'd just send us a crazy torture-happy taskmaster and call it a present, did you? Through a bunch of mechanisms that you couldn't even understand if I did explain them to you right now, the System is able to tap into a lot of bonuses and fun stuff when you meet the right conditions. Michael grimaced at the last bit of that message. While he couldn't wholly be blamed for reacting with some consternation to the sudden upheaval of his routines, the system hadn't really asked him to do anything unreasonable. It was just his teenaged hedonistic brain lashing out at doing what he didn't want to, like a kid being told to eat their vegetables. 

"Hey, System?"

"Oh! Right, I thought I'd completed that. I wonder what's left? And Road to what?" Michael wondered as he fished the printouts he'd made in the computer lab out of his bag. He'd taken a cursory glance at them in the lab, but hadn't really read through them. A few minutes afterwards, he'd finished reading them all in detail.

"...I suppose I should have seen this coming," Michael muttered, though he wasn't upset. In fact, he'd wanted to be able to initiate some sort of exercise program, but it wasn't something he was familiar with and he hadn't had the motivation to investigate it further.  

He went back over to his supply area and retrieved a couple of rolls of carpet. He decided to lay them out in the corner furthest away from his sleeping area, and layered them both one on top of each other in order to make sure that he was reasonably protected from the concrete floor of the basement. He decided to look into a better sub-floor for that area in the future. 

"System, I thought heavy exercise wasn't recommended for people my age?"

Michael nodded, somewhat curious as to what heavy exercise was supposed to look like, but decided it was wise not to push the issue at the moment. Since the new routine didn't start til tomorrow and he'd decided to leave the Status Check til right before bed, he opted for the last outstanding mission.

Fishing the Fundamentals of Reading out of his bag, he sat down at his new work desk. He glanced over at the time. 10pm. If he activated the Enhanced Focus, he'd wrap up around midnight, which was around when he normally went to bed - if he didn't get distracted by one of his games, or a book, that is. 

"System, how do I activate the Enhanced Focus?"

"Now THAT's handy. I guess I'll leave the test-drive for another night then," Michael shrugged and changed into a pair of pajama bottoms before turning off the lights and lying in his bed. "So, how does this work, do I need to close my eyes, or say some--"

Michael rubbed his eyes, then snapped his head up as he realized what he'd just read. "Wait, my stats went up while I slept!?"

<<Of course. Subject is in a growth stage. Proper rest and nutrition are key components to Subject's growth.>>

Michael had heard platitudes in a similar vein since he was a kid, but it was another thing to see the evidence right in front of him. He deeply regretted a number of nights where he'd stayed up way too late playing video games. Who wouldn't want to get stronger while they slept?

Michael decided to get the first portion of his new daily routine out of the way before making his way upstairs. As he stepped onto the carpet he had placed on the far corner, the System prompted:

Michael shrugged and dropped down to the ground, quickly doing a push-up. "Honestly, 20 push-ups doesn't sound too difficult. System, do I need to count them out myself or will you do it?"

"But I--"

<<Incorrect. That was not a push-up.>>

"..."

Michael recalled the precise form he'd studied the night before and slowly repeated the exercise, maintaining his form through it. This time, it was much slower than the previous one.

"...I take it back, System."

Michael quickly jumped up, perspiring and breathing rather heavily, quickly jammed the Fundamentals of Reading into his pack, grabbed the clothes he wanted to wear and raced upstairs. Anne was once again sitting at the table, and all she saw was a blur as he zoomed through the kitchen. 5 minutes later, he was back downstairs, tugging on a sock while hopping on one leg. 

"Running a little late? It's not even 7:30," she commented. "Yeah, I'm doing this new fitness thing and I'm walking. It takes a bit," he explained. "Got it. Have fun. Mom said we're having pizza tonight!" Anne called out after him as he rushed out the door.

"Really? Well, that's cool! Alright - let's go!"

It's the turn of the 21st century in a world not unlike our own. 14 year-old Michael wakes up on the first day of high school with a nosebleed, a splitting headache, and the voice of someone claiming to be him from a number of years in the future in his head!

"We could have been, and we need to be, better... so, congratulations, I'm sorry, and good luck!"

Stuck with a somewhat overbearing voice in his head that seems hell-bent on ruining his life, Michael will have to survive such ordeals as... doing well in school, eating right, exercising and... learning demonic contract law? Stay tuned to find out!

In the end I decided to just go with the flow and get whatever Perks I think I would need whenever I leveled up. After all it was like Aaron said it's dangerous and if I want to survive I need to get stronger as quickly as possible and not waste any time holding back now so that I might get strong later.

The next few weeks Aaron had me doing light exercises and teaching me the basics of stealth. He showed me the proper way to walk to minimize sound and how to watch my target and move in the little gaps in their awareness.

Aside from that he also had me on an intense exercise regimen. I would wake up at the crack of dawn and would go run 10 laps around the store followed by 15 pushups, sit ups, squats, and pull ups.

It wasn't that much exercise but, for my small 5 year old body it was asking a lot. For the first few days I didn't manage to meet the standards he gave me and I suffered as a result. If I failed in anything be it my exercise or sneak training he would find the grosses most vile foods for me to eat.

Most of the time for meals Aaron would bring home fresh meat to cook over a fire and even if it was not the best it wasn't terrible either. When I messed up however we would end up eating Radroaches and all kinds of other unknown kinds of meat that would turn my stomach just by looking at them.

I couldn't complain about it since Aaron also ate everything he brought back without even flinching. So the only thing I could do was to try and force it down and try not to fail the next day.

After about a month I could consistently finish my training and I didn't mess up anymore when sneaking. That's when Aaron decided it was time for some more advanced training. He doubled all of my exercise requirements and said that he was planning something special to train my sneaking ability.

Even though my life was packed with endless training and work it was actually kind of peaceful. I even had some time each day when Aaron goes out hunting to do whatever I want. 

When I have free time I go up the office and sit on that old couch and look at my Pipboy. My Pipboy had far more functions that it ever did in the games. It had the standard stuff like a place list of all of my possessions while traveling and section where I could write down all of my goals and things I needed to do.

I laughed when I found those in it because they were like the real world equivalent of the inventory and Missions List from the games.

The Radio and Map function were exactly like they were in the games the first one I checked was the Map to see where I was. As it turned out I was in Colorado not that it meant much to me since It was never featured well in any of the games and I never went there in my past life. 

 On the Radio there were only 3 channels. The First was something called Dial Radio it was a normal radio station the broadcasted from some place named Tent City. It seemed like it was a major settlement and the station would always give out important news like large scale fights or where good places to scavenge have been found.

The music on the channel was really good and had way more than 5 or 6 song. One fact that made me sad was that this radio channel didn't have fun characters D.J.ing the songs like 3 Dawg and Travis.

The second channel was really interesting it was actually controlled by Supermutant who claimed to be a follower of the Children of Atom church. He would preach all day long about how wonderful radiation was and that all humans should do their best to live in radioactive places.

 Funny thing was that he would often think he had switch off his microphone and start ranting about how stupid humans are and that he would be able to kill all of them with his trick. I think a lot of people listened to that channel.

The third radio station didn't have a name it just constantly played classical music 24/7 when I first heard it I got a chill down my back. It made me think about my family and what was happening to them.

I also was scared by the fact that very little time had passed, yet it seemed like Vault 122 had already started to get a grasp on the Teleportation technology. I was terrified at the thought of being chased down by people who could appear anywhere at any time.

 I knew that there was nothing I could do about the Vault so I tried my best to put it out of my head but, it was always there at the back of my mind.

Besides the Radio the thing on the Pipboy that interested me the most was Dante's research. Apparently before the Institute fell he managed to make a copy of all of its research and somehow take it with him. 
My Pipboy actually had on it hundreds of years of research on it and I spent most of my free time studying it. There was so much of it that even with high Intelligence I would still need years to read through everything.

My days were so full and I was doing so much I felt that even though I wasn't leveling up I was still getting stronger. 

A few days later Aaron shook me awake.

"Ahh why did you wake me up so early" I yawned.

"Remember that special training I promised you?"

"Yes" I answered feeling that something wasn't right.

"Good" was his only response.

He led me to the office door and handed me a baseball bat.

"What do I need this for "I asked now being 100% sure that something wasn't right.

 Aaron didn't answer me instead he pushed me out the door while whispering to me. "Try not to die and to remember that there are five of them."

I wanted to ask five of what but, before I could he had already slammed the door shut behind me. I turned to look at the store behind me I had been living here for a month already and already knew it like the back of my hand. Tonight however something felt different it felt threatening.

 I slowly descended the stairs and even though I was doing my best to try and sneak each step was painfully loud. When I got to the bottom I was half expecting to be attacked by some terrible monster. It was nearly pitch black and I barely see where I was going, Sweat was dripping down my back and my heart was racing.

 I swore that the second I reached level 3 I would by that stupid Night Person Perk so that I would never be put in a situation like this again.

As I was creeping around a crashing sound echoed from my side. I turned to face it I knew that was where the shopping carts were stored. Something  must have bumped into them. Edging closer I could see a pair of glowing green eyes.

I raised my courage and moved closer. I could hear whatever it was scuttling around as I neared it I couldn't clearly make out what it was but, from what I saw it was no bigger than a small dog. That gave me courage, I was now so close to it that if I wanted to I could reach out and touch it.

Summoning all my strength I swung the bat. Not long after there was a sickening crunching sound as I smashed whatever it was. 

A +5 materialized in front of me and I could finally confirm that I could actually get Exp from killing. I began to wonder what I actually was I could level up from killing and change my stats as well as pick different Perks to get stronger. 

On the other hand I had no health and stamina bar and I still needed to eat and sleep. I was like a strange fusion between reality and fiction. I quickly threw those pointless thoughts out of my head. I wasn't going to find an answer anytime soon and I had far more important things to deal with at the moment.

Stepping I turned by Pipboy on at the lowest brightness and I finally saw what Aaron brought for me to fight. It was a Radroach, in hindsight I probably should have figured that out much earlier.

After knowing that my unknown assailants were just small bug a large part of my fear went away. I moved much faster while looking for the last four Radroaches while still sneaking. That was the whole point of this after all.

Listening closely and I could hear a small gnawing sound. I followed it and found what looked to be two Radroaches chewing on a piece of meat. Confident I crept closer with my bat ready drooling at the thought of more Exp. I was right before them and was about to take a swing when I messed up.

I stepped on a piece of broken glass that shattered under my shoes (I always wore shoes to sleep because Aaron said we needed to be able to escape at any time). 

The Radroaches were startled they screeched at me as one of them charged and the other tried to circle behind me. I dodged to the side of the charging one taking a swing at it. I ended up mistiming my swing and hitting air. The other one then jumped at me from behind but I was expecting it so I leapt forward out of its range.

I turned around again to see both of them charging me. I did an overhead power swing at the one closest to me crushing it but, the second one was faster than I expected and managed to get to me before I could react.

It bit into my leg and I let out a scream. I kicked forward hoping to fling it off but, it held firm and continued eating my leg. I ran to a nearby wall and kicked it repeatedly smashing the Radroach. I squatted down and threw the corpse of my leg.

Feeling my wound I could tell that he had bitten my shin down to its bone. I struggled to stand up I wanted to quit but, Aaron was the only one who could help me now and I knew that if I want dying he wouldn't intervene. After all he definitely heard me scream just now and knew I was most likely injured yet he let the test continue. 

With all the noise I just made I doubted that the last to remaining Radroaches  didn't know I was there. So I ended up completely turning on my Pipboy light letting it bright blue light fill the area (I changed the Pipboy's screen color to blue because I like it better).  

 Limping along I zigzagged my way between the Aisles looking for the last two Roaches. Not long after I found them. I got lucky as they were a good distance away from each other when they attacked. Giving me plenty of time to prepare and smash them into paste.

"I'm finished I killed them all" I yelled hoping for Aaron to come help me with my wound.

After my yell only silence greeted me it looked like I would have to struggle back up to the office myself since that's where we kept the Med kit. I slowly trudged back to the stairs, without my adrenalin to keep me going each step was pure agony. When I finally got back to the stairs a cursed loudly as I knew this would be the most painful part.

Before I could begin the terrible climb however I was pushed from behind. I fell forward and threw my arms out bracing for the fall. Ended up smacking my head on the edge of the first stair and everything went fuzzy. Then something ripped into my back.

There must have been six of them I thought to myself that bastard Aaron must have tricked me. I tried my best but, I couldn't summon up the strength to stand. All I could do was lay there as I was eaten alive.

There was a sudden whoosh of air by my head and the weight on my back suddenly disappeared. Not long after a loud gunshot rang out above me. It was Aaron he had kicked the Radroach off of me before finishing it with a bullet.

I look up weakly to try and see him.

He was looking back down at me with a serious face before even checking to see if I was ok bent down to face me and said.

"You failed."

"Sha... Sha....."


First sound that I heard after open my eyes are the sound of the rain. Today, in the first time in my life (12 days), raining quite heavily, bringing new experience to my entire life (12 days old).


My maid as usual prepare the breakfast for me, and I eat my meal slowly. I checked the Giggle Service about this world climate, and surprisingly this world have 4 season like the Earth. Right now, the Diesel Forest, or should I say, this entire Sedan continent now on the summer, which the raining happened in time to time. After eating, I practicing my martial arts in my training hall, that I created for this moment. 


Yesterday, I have created the gym equipments for my exercise and training. Not only that, my house also have the swimming pool, racetrack, football field and court for any sports for my family in the future. As a man with vision, I always prepared to make sure my life become more smoothly and conducive. I exercise and practicing without any care in the world to strengthen my body. After sweating a lot, I having my bath before enjoying my lunch. 


Satisfied with my lunch, I started my daily work by creating a special place for my new plant, called chilly. For spicy food lover like me, this plant is a must, so I don't need second thought to create it. I also instruct my maid in handling it so she will add it in my food in the future. 


By the way, the monsters attack never get less even in the raining days. My maid, Aka already  ask me to create the third storage because the second almost exceed the limit. Not wasting the time, I make the third storage, but three times more larger than the first two. On the bright note, this thing also bring me a excellent idea, to create a new skill. My next new skill is Unlimited Store Work (USW). The skill allow me to store everything except the living. My skill created the dimension room to keep the things that I want to store. I even can store my entire house in my USW if I want.


In my dimension room, I created my special labs to designate my arms and weapons in order to face any threatening force in the future. I tried to recreate the robotic armor using the combination of my skill, Production. Golemnification and Artificial Intelligence with the help of Giggle Service. Even though some will accuse me for plagued the idea of some super hero story, but my armor doesn't cover all my body, only the vital parts. I also created a special shield, which is not a super frisbee, to protect me from any attack.


All the materials that I use to create them are the bone from monsters that dismantled by me and my maid, Aka. The higher ranked monsters are so valuable as their material can be used for creating a superb metal. The best part is even the metal quite tough and high durability, it's weight are not much, so it is the best materials for armor and body equipment. The armor also quite cool and overpowered with the original color is dark black. My armor have auto equipped systems; I can summoned the armor anytime and anywhere, as the armor will automatically appear from my labs within my skill, USW. I named it, the black pan... Wait, I named it, the Dark Age.

I having my dinner, then the usual bath before sleep. Ah, by the way, the raining already stopped. I checked my status before closing my eyes;

"What a great disappointment." Draco closed his book and sighed. The disappointment was obvious in his speech.
While in the Dark Chamber, Draco fumbled and secretly put a book in his pocket. Since it is Lucius's usual laboratory, the book inside is naturally not a normal book. What is written in the book is self-evident – things related to dark magic.
After sending Pansy away, Draco naturally found an excuse to quickly return to his bedroom and start reading.
Draco himself believes that there is no dark magic, the so-called evil/dark magic is related to how it is used. If the outcome of using it is evil, that's another matter. In order to maintain the stability of the Wizard Society, some of the spells of formidable power are regarded as dark magic. It is forbidden to study and has said to be retrogression. In addition to the souls that have received various cultural shocks in the past, Draco read this so-called restricted book with no psychological burden, plus his superb memory and understanding ability could be said to be very sharp.
However, Draco did not find what he wanted. His previous life also had a half-baked understanding of various miscellaneous studies. "He also deliberately took me to such a dark place to scare me. While pretending to be more polite than anyone else."  Pansy tore an ear of the toy she was playing with.
"I didn't do well." Pansy, complained, naturally because of what Draco did to her. Because of her pride, Pansy naturally cannot accept it. Instead of her father getting revenge for her, she chose to do it herself.
So Pansy chose to self-direct a play of a hero saving the beauty, paving the way for their next meeting. Although Pansy was still a child, her acting was not bad.
"I grabbed your attention anyway, I don't believe that you don't follow suit. I must torture you the next time we meet." Pansy couldn't help but laugh when she thought of Draco's face after her successful revenge.
"The first kiss of this Young Lady is not so easy to get." Thinking of the kiss Pansy's cheeks suddenly flushed red.
"But the little liar is still a bit handsome." Pansy couldn't help but think.
"No, no, no soft heart, he dares to bully me, I must bully him back." In the end, the result before she could decide her mother called "Pansy, it's late, go to sleep, you should be tired today."
"Okay, Mother."
"The next time we meet, I must torture you." Pansy still didn't forget to pull the ears of the plush bear before going to bed. She was really resentful.
Time quickly passed.
The sound of "ring ring ring" came from Draco's room. It was the alarm.
