I'm looking for story feedback on a new Webnovel I'm writing about a guy transported into his book.

You don't need to read the previous entries before this to be up to date with the events but if you really want a refresher, just read the four chapters of Volume 0 and you should be good to go.

This is a little like Omniscient Reader in regards to how the MCs main power is literally knowing most of the supposedly 'secret' stuff in this story and ends up meeting his own protagonist.

However, this isn't your typical story he gets transported into as you would see a lot of parallels between the story he was transported into and Chivalry of a Failed Knight. Thought not JUST that Anime as it subverts a lot of those tropes you all know and love in Magic High School Stories where the protagonist is strong but isn't acknowledged.

The dynamic I'm going with is that his Novel's Protagonist is a Overdog (is strong but just not accepted and has outcast status), while the Omniscient Writer transported into the story is more of a true Underdog who uses his wits and cunning rather than brute force. And he will stay that way no matter how much stronger he gets to reach bare minimum fighting capability using his benefits.

The 'witty solutions' he often comes up with all boil down to acting innocent and being an assassin if things really got out of hand. Though not the average Japanese kind who can still somehow fight swordsman on even ground but the kind who will really use tricks and schemes rather than brute force. It fits quite well considering his personality is the most similar to Anansi, the African Spider.

Hope you guys will give it a chance. I'm finally writing a 'fight scene' after building up the Power System and giving examples on how things work in the first ten chapters. It will be epic!

I just thought of the note I wrote before and realised that even a neat idea wouldn't work out without any heart in it. I'm thinking of redoing this story a Wuxia but need some ideas on a cohesive plot, since I'm not the best at Chinese settings.

Maybe I'll write a Wuxia but in the Gaiaverse I'd set up in my story... Well, I can think of a few ideas:

1. About a girl who travels back in time to avenge herself as an abandoned yet wrathful empress.
(This idea came from wanting to do this kind of story justice after reading The Evil Girl is The Emperor and being thoroughly disgusted by it. I like it when the heroine isn't inconsistently badass. To the point you wonder how she died before.)

2. A totally new story about a Beast who descends onto Earth and finds he's the only one there.
(This is a Reverse Isekai where an RPG Monster suddenly finds himself needing to find a job like in The Devil Is A Part-Timer. Except this story has a slime, skeleton, or whatever trying to live here.)

3. A Magical Girl parody where a police officer is a reincarnation of a generic Hero in RPGs.
(This would be a comedy where you'll see one of the forces of evil getting jail time after attacking an underage girl in the police officers point of view, and the 'Demon' crying because he really wasn't thinking anything weird and was just doing his job as the force of evil. This is the kind of story where heroism is expanded on in a funny way.)

4. An adventure story similar to ISSTH where the main character in a fantasy world finds himself being whisked into a Magic Academy because of his heritage being really special and interesting.
(This would just be me thinking of a Wuxia story from scratch but using my Gaiaverse's setting. It will be set in past of Earth where martial arts is prevalent and the pugilistic world is fighting all the time. Set in an urban fantasy medieval era.)

The reason I'm not doing ancient China anymore is because trying to remember Chinese customs like people tying their hair weirdly if they have some background is hard. I'd rather just write western pompous Noble twats getting the life beaten out of them instead. Like in Trash Count but less meta and having more personal character moments.

Pick the one you like and I'll get working on it. It's easier to use the Power System of my own universe now that I've perfected it. The power system I'm going for is like the one in this story but better.

I received a mission from my Matriarch to find a place of retreat for the members of the Heavenly Sect to hide should its leader ever fall. After accepting the task, I decided to masquerade as a young master who knows how to intimidate and demand respect!

However, who could have known that he’d have a run in with a ‘protagonist’ type? Hey, why is my System awakening now of all times? I’m really not the bad guy alright? I’m a very ‘good’ Demon!

Gildor's face grew sullen at the instant that he heard his words. Later on, he left the tent unwillingly after his peers urged him to. For the elves who had always been proud and arrogant, it was very uncomfortable to lower their pride and ask a human mage for help. 
No matter how reluctant Gildor was, he nonetheless walked towards Lin Li's tent. The only good thing at this time was that the Vampire Norfeller had already gone out for his usual reconnoitering. Gildor adjusted his expression and prepared to make his tone as mellow and polite as possible. He then asked Lin Li if he could enter. 
After hearing Lin Li's response, Gildor stepped inside the tent, where he stayed for another few hours. When Norfeller finally returned from reconnoitering, Gildor finally couldn't stand it any longer, and resignedly bade Lin Li goodbye. 
Just like Culofen, Gildor spent hours telling Lin Li many stories about the elves, but did not find a chance to talk about Princess Elune. 
"He clearly knows what we're looking for him for. Otherwise, he wouldn't change the subject whenever we got to the main point," Gildor complained to Elder Randy and his peers.
"Why don't we face him directly and let him tell us how to remove the poison? He's actually the leader of one of the forces in the human adventure team we cooperate with now. However, I've already made it clear that this time only he and that dirty Vampire are here on this trip. Moreover, his relationship with the humans of the Dark Blade is not harmonious. Even if we harm him, the other two forces wouldn't dare to say anything," Ferner said, still feeling proud. 
The elves were not really pure and kind. Races that were truly kind and saintly had long gone extinct. Just like other intelligent races, the elves were also competitive and hungry for power. Otherwise, the Queldana Family wouldn't have secretly cooperated with Dark Blade to send the elites of each party to help find the lost relic. 
However, Elder Randy and Ferner's peers did not agree with him. It was not because they were soft-hearted, but because Lin Li was a Legendary-mage they were not confident in subduing. The fact that he had fearlessly confronted them in the campground that night meant that he definitely had great power. If they were to fail, the relationship between the two would definitely be strained beyond redemption.

The discussion of the elves was inconclusive, but the condition of the poisoned elves like Princess Elune was not optimistic. The Natural Rejuvenation technique used by Elder Randy had been said to be able to suppress the effects of the poison for 10 days, but it now seemed that it'd actually be less. The toxins in their bodies would continue to eat away at their vitality rapidly. Elder Randy and the other high-level elves could clearly feel that the vitality of the poisoned elves was depleting rapidly. 
They all knew that they could not afford to delay it any further, for the loss of any of the elves, not only Princess Elune, would be a huge loss for them. After a long day of discussion, Elder Randy finally decided to speak to Lin Li himself. 
Upon hearing his decision, the high-level elves immediately objected. Elder Randy was not the elder of the Queldana Family, but the eighth elder of the Emerald Council of the Elven Kingdom. With such a high status, he was actually going to personally invite a lowly human mage to help them? What a huge disgrace to the Elven Kingdom.
However, Elder Randy stood firm to his decision, and the high-level elves had no choice but to give in. After all, the poisoned elves could not wait any longer.

It was not that Lin Li was disrespectful to his elders[1], but rather that his respect for someone depended on whether they were worth respecting. He would definitely respect those who respected him, and contrariwise for those who disrespected him. It was the same for everyone, be it the elders of the elves or other big shots. Regarding the incident involving Norfeller, Lin Li didn't think that this matter could be swept under the carpet just because the elven elders had punished several young elves at that time and deprived them of their power for a number of years. It was not over for him even though he had saved Norfeller with his potion.
At that time, Lin Li did feel that this punishment was rather severe for the elves, but after giving it some thought, he realized that elves didn't rely on energy to begin with. Helios who was at his peak during the Dark Age and Druids were all examples. They managed to attain higher levels even without power, didn't they?

Lin Li accidentally enters another world while playing with his smurf mage account just after he maxes out all kinds of crafting skills, bringing with him various top-grade materials. Although his character is practically powerless, what he gains in return is unprecedented magical talent! Can he survive by himself after being thrown into another world?

It was all well and good for Ves to consider designing a space knight. He already knew that they sold for quite a decent profit margin for that product or product margin for short as long as they caught on in the market.
Knight mechs were more expensive than other mechs at the same level of specs due to the high cost of armor. The most expensive component of a mech by far was its armor plating. The thicker the armor, the greater the cost.
However, this also allowed mech manufacturers to get away with charging more for knight mechs than say a light skirmisher.
The market expected knight mechs to be more expensive, ergo the mech companies obliged by collectively bumping up their prices despite the stiff competition. Any mech that was cheaper than the predominant price levels were usually sold by small, struggling mech companies.
The danger in maintaining a thin product margin when selling something like a knight mech was that they became immensely vulnerable to fluctuations in the prices of raw materials needed to fabricate the armor system of the mech model.
Because armor factored so hugely in the production cost of a knight mech, a modest fluctuation in price could immediately double or outright wipe out the product margin of a knight mech model on the market!
Any small mech company that tried to sell knight mechs at a margin of five percent or less was really playing with fire!
In short, as long as Ves designed a good space knight that Professor Ventag subsequently elevated to a higher level of performance, it wouldn't be too difficult to introduce his new product at a product margin as high as forty percent!
His silver label Blackbeaks started selling at 65 million credits a piece when they initially came out. With a production cost of around 45 million credits per mech, the Blackbeak's product margin was roughly thirty percent.
This was very high for a mech designed by a new entrant in the mech industry!
If Ves managed to succeed in achieving such a generous product margin with his first original mech design, then he held a sufficient amount of confidence that he could top that for his fourth original mech design.
Of course, the true cost picture of a mech model wasn't as simple as that. Licensing costs, taxes, after-sales services and more all served to muddle up the profits generated from sales.
Even so, starting high was better than starting low.
Right now, Ves made a rough determination of the market demand for space knights. According to Lord Javier, every mech force needed at least a couple to cover for their more vulnerable mechs.
"Space battles aren't my thing, but I've trained for it in case I ever need to jump into the cockpit of a spaceborn mech." The noble stated as he stared down his empty mug of beer. "Still, I've hung around with enough mech pilots to know that every spaceborn mech force needs them. On land, many mech companies can get away without bringing knight mechs because on most battlefield there's sufficient hard cover on land for mechs to take advantage of. Many times, you don't get that luxury in space."
Spaceborn mech forces either had three choices there.
The first choice was that they could take the offensive and hit the enemy so hard and fast that they didn't become exposed to ranged fire. Lancer mechs and light skirmishers came to mind.
The second choice was that they could fight around their much larger carrier vessels. They could take advantage of their huge bulk to shield their more vulnerable mechs from enemy fire.
This was usually considered as a desperation move because carriers served as motherships to any spaceborn mech force. Once a force lost a carrier, they lost the ability to move around a large amount of mechs! They became stuck and shackled in the star system the battle took place!
The third and most sustainable choice was to field a number of defensive space knights. Space knights took advantage of a combination of formidable defensive power with decent mobility in space to offer continuous cover under changing circumstances.
The tactical flexibility they offered turned them into an indispensable mech type for most conventional spaceborn mech troops along with rifleman mechs.
In other words, this was a product category that always sold well and in relative large numbers.
A high and stable sales pattern as well as increased tolerance for higher price margins in the market all led to stiff competition, however. Ves knew that his space knight design must be a truly exceptional piece of work in order to capture even a fraction of a percentage of this huge product category!
While Ves could rely on Professor Ventag's contribution in the joint project to push his design up to that standard, it depended heavily whether Ves could design a compelling mech of sufficient quality.
He had the confidence to design a good mech. But did he have what it takes to design a compelling mech?
It depended on his creativity, imagination, inspiration and passion.
His Blackbeak design did not emerge from a whim. Neither did his Crystal Lord design. He came up with the visions for both mech designs when he became inspired by external influences.
This was the artistic side to mech design. It didn't matter how skilled Ves was in the technical side of his profession. Without a bountiful imagination, he could forget about crafting an exciting concept for his knight mech design.
Ves was not in an inspired mood right now.
He glanced towards Lord Javier who went on to order another mug of beer and decided that he wouldn't gain any inspiration from the man.
"Thanks for answering my questions. I'll be off now."
"Keep me in the loop on your progress, Ves!"
"Will do."
As Ves returned to his cabin on the Lormant Carnival, he began to consider his approach. If he wanted to come up with an inspired concept for his mech, then he needed to stoke his passion somehow.
Thinking back to the past, Ves knew that he would get fired up to design a mech in two different instances.
The first instance would be when he came under intense pressure. This always enabled him to exert his full potential during competitions and design duels when a lot was at stake.
The second instance was when he became inspired by a good story.
In fact, Ves always designed his mechs around stories. Stories enlivened his mechs by breathing life into the images he conjured up in his mind with the Triple Division technique.
Of those instances where Ves made use of stories to enrich the spiritual essence of his designs, none were as effective as using stories that really took place!
"The Crystal Lord design is a shining example of this method!"
In effect, the Crystal Lord was the result of blending reality with imagination. By basing and anchoring the fantasies conjured up by his imagination with real elements, he gave them an easier path towards materializing them closer to reality!
By making use of the spiritual remnants and story of the leader of the miniature race of extinct crystal builders, Ves succeeded in designing his first mech with an X-Factor rated in the B-grade for the very first time!
If Ves wanted to justice to himself, the LMC and Professor Ventag's faith in his ability to design a mech, then he needed to at least match his previous high point in his career. Making use of real individuals and real history would be a good starting point.
"A real story, huh?"
Ves experienced a lot of harrowing adventures and ordeals ever since the war broke out. His time with the Flagrant Vandals left a strong and indelible mark on him, sometimes for the worse but often times for the better.
No matter how mixed he felt about the journey to the Aeon Corona System and the mission to uncover the treasures of the fallen Starlight Megalodon, he was never quite the same when he came back.
He idly chuckled as he sat behind his terminal in his cabin. He hadn't turned it on because he couldn't do much with it anyway with his current authorizations.
While he suffered through many awful situations, it wasn't always bad. He witnessed new wonders, outsmarted several enemies and managed to come back alive with plentiful treasures, the most important of which fixed the many flaws on his hybrid alien physique and improved its overall parameters.
Ves wanted to commemorate his time with the Flagrant Vandals by designing a mech that embodied an aspect of that unforgettable adventure!
"I've witnessed many exciting battles and strange events, but which ones are relevant to space knights or knight mechs?"
Not so much, at least on the top of his head. Ves tried to go over instances related to defensive mechs and only came up with a couple of examples that didn't really inspire him that much.
"Perhaps the most defining moment took place we tried to pass through the Venidse Duchy."
A detachment of the Frosty Meteors of the Venidsan mech legions cornered the Verle Task Force some time after departing from the Detemen System after a successful raid.
What struck Ves the most was that despite their lack of numbers, the heavy-armored mechs of the Frosty Meteors inexorably closed in on the stranded fleet of the Flagrant Vandals!
No matter how much firepower the Vandal mechs unleashed on the Venidsan mechs, the Frosty Meteors endured an incredible amount of damage!
If not for Venerable O'Callahan moving into action and whittling down the incredibly sturdy mechs of the Frosty Meteors one by one, as well as the sacrificial mobbing tactic employed by the Vandals at the end, they might have never been able to survive their escape from the Vesia Kingdom!
The Flagrant Vandals didn't survive this disastrous crisis unscatched. Half of their spaceborn mech pilots lost their lives and even more mechs got wrecked or sustained heavy damage. If not for their subsequent recovery at the Harkensen System, the spaceborn mech contingent of the Flagrant Vandals would have never been able to stand up on their own two feet again!
This story contained a strong emotional attachment to Ves. Yet would it be appropriate for him to use the events of this battle as the basis of his fourth original mech design?
Ves shook his head. "We beat the enemy, but lost almost just as much. A pyrrhic victory is not a victory to be proud of. Besides, the enemy earned all of the glory for their bold and enduring approach."
The Vandals only won that battle because they outnumbered the small detachment of Frosty Meteors and made use of that advantage in the stupidest and most destructive way possible.
He discarded this battle and tried to come up with other memories that cast a better on his experiences.
After fifteen minutes of daydreaming, he suddenly sat up straight in his chair. "Of course! When it comes to showcasing the power of defense, how can I forget about that big lovable lizard!"
The misguided attack of the Sacred Gods of the Eastern Samar Pantheon on the ground forces of the Flagrant Vandals nearly wiped out the latter.
Nobody from the Vandals including Ves ever expected Qilanxo's incredibly strong space barrier to be able to withstand a half a mech regiment's worth of ranged bombardment!
In the end, the Flagrant Vandals cheated and dropped a couple of overloaded power reactors that blew up with the force of a tactical nuclear weapon to overload that ridiculously resilient and enduring space barrier!
Witnessing such an amazing capacity from a primitive exobeast instead of some highly advanced device from the CFA left a strong impression in his mind. Ves' eyes lit up as he realized that this event might serve as a good base for his vision for his space knight!
Even though Qilanxo was a land exobeast and the battle happened firmly on heavy gravity soil, it was the spirit that counted. Ves wanted to draw upon the impression of invincibility and defensive supremacy displayed by the mighty Qilanxo.
Best of all, unlike the earlier example, Ves and the Flagrant Vandals eventually made up with Qilanxo.
How strong would his space knight design become if he became inspired by her example?
"It's not possible for me to implement an actual space barrier as a defensive measure for my upcoming space knight design." Ves conceded.
However, what kind of effect would Ves be able to achieve when he incorporated such a strong phenomenon in the imaginary realm?


Humanity has conquered half the galaxy and the Age of Mechs reigns supreme!

Ves Larkinson lacked the genetic aptitude to become a famed mech pilot. Fighting against his fate, he studied mech design in order to express his love for mechs as a builder instead of a soldier.

Chapter 1173 – Boring Country War

 On the imperial city drill field, the wind blew.

 On the viewing stand were two giants that had risen up together. One represented the peak of China Lords, while the other represented the peak of guilds. Beneath the stage were cheering warriors, and amongst the yellow dust, their hot blood was burning.

 If one saw such a scene, they would obviously be filled with emotions.

 Although Blood Romance agreed to be incorporated, Ouyang Shuo was not an ignorant person and gave the Blood Evil Mercenary Group some time. He allowed them to choose four elite forces to join the Guards Legion Corps and the Dragon Legion Corps to follow the army to India to experience the battlefield.

 6th month, 1st day, country war month officially begins.

 The flames of war blazed in the wilderness that had not been calm for long, wrapping up the entire globe.
Under such a backdrop, the China region battlefield seemed a little depressing.

 On the north, the Romanov Dynasty only sent an army as a token of their participation to disturb Liaojin Province, showing no signs of invading.

 Even to say that there was not a single Russian adventure gamemode player.

 The ones that were afraid were not just the China region players. Even the Russians became fearful after the system update, much less asking them to cross thousands of miles to disturb Great Xia.

 No one was so free.

 Romanov Empire leader Pushkin chose his country war target as Great Xia because he had no choice.

 North of Russia was the empty Artic ocean, while east was North America which belonged to Dawson. To its south was China, while west was their ally, the Persian Empire as well as Europe.

 Apart from China, the rest were all allies.

 Originally, using the chance of the country war month to take down a small European state was their best choice. However, Silver Hand did not allow them to do so.

 The Pushkin family was an awkward presence in Silver Hand. The European families were wary of them like one would be wary of a thief and did not want to give them a chance.

 Under such a situation, how would they allow them to attack Europe?

 With nothing to choose, Pushkin had no choice but to select China. However, he had no intentions of conquering China, as that was not worth it at all.

 Hence, it resulted in their lack of interest.
 ...
 Southwest, Java was also in an awkward situation where they could not advance or retreat.

 If Great Xia started a cross ocean war like last year, Java would have to go all out in fear of being wiped out.

 Java Lord Uwais would be able to borrow the power of the players to go all out against Great Xia.

 Unexpectedly, Great Xia did not fall for that. The country war had already started, but they showed no intentions of attacking Java. They only arranged the Heluo and Nanjiang legion corps to defend the surrounding islands as a show of strength.

 Hence, the Java players were not that interested either.

 After the Badong Squadron was destroyed, the huge risk of cross ocean war was enough to crush all their courage. Not to mention the players, but even the territory army did not dare to go out to sea.

 The entire atmosphere became really awkward.
 ...
 The only one that made moves was India.

 After learning that the Great Zhou and Great Jin player groups were not going to participate in this war, the India Region felt really confident. All their powers bonded together as they shouted out the slogan of reclaiming their title as best in Asia.

 Even their adventure gamemode players were really eager.

 In their eyes, using their entire region to take down Great Xia would not be a problem. Since that was the case, they should naturally join in to try to gain something from it.

 In truth, snatching a piece of China's land was the dream of the Indians.

A different kind of tale that blends historical characters and virtual reality gaming, with heavy emphasis on kingdom building and warfare.

You guy's already know what time-travel basically is so I'll just get to the main point: Time travel is only complicated the more you try to micromanage the events that happened as a result of time travel.

In time loops, the focus is usually put more on seeing new sides to people and what they would have done if your specific actions were different. I can reference just about a dozen stories with either time travel used to send the protagonist into a foreign or ancient world and even The Melancholy of Haruhi Our Great God had a time loop that made the audience watch the same events multiple times.

Just go see the movie and you'll catch my drift. It will be too boring to explain this trope through examples so I'll spice things up by taking a step back. Let me explain my own personal thoughts on this first:

In my perspective: There are two kinds of forces that can affect events in time travel stories. The first being the intentions of the characters while the second being the natural world around them.

Let's say you're trying to save someone from an accident involving the weather in the past. Perhaps getting them to a safe zone or something wouldn't really affect the wider world as a whole. However, it is up to the author if events happen 'because the of the main character' or 'because he used a very unstable time machine that messed up time'.

I feel it's best to explain this first since it doesn't seem convincing if the main problem to your story isn't the change of events but because of an external interference messing your happy ending.

Things like: 'You have messed up fate and now this person is destined to die' only work if you are being aware that he isn't ACTUALLY at fault for the mess that's made. It's just Lady Time screwing him back.

This kind of thing is usually made for stories that show the dangers of trying to mess with a fundamental concept of reality. In other words: If you want to be happy, don't screw with time travel.

Messing with it causes time loops, paradoxes with your mom, and other horrific things that can only be fixed once you've either learned your lesson and stop messing with it any further than 'the incident'.

Of course, there are also stories where time travel itself doesn't have any disadvantages and it's the decision made by going back time that make things suck. This is not to be confused with 'you stepped on a leaf and now the future sucks', the change I'm referring to is mostly to do with how you changed interactions with other people that made them do something they didn't do in the previous timeline.

While it's not uncommon to have your main character step on a twig or something that causes a dog to wake up or something. If it's just you being there that messes with the wider world, then that attributes to previous point of angering Lady Time.

You would find it extremely confusing to write a story that involves time travel mechanics. However, there is a simple solution to making it easier, and that's by understanding the 'determinism' intrinsic to this specific trope: Why is the past always the same?

To explain: Determinism is to say that a person is defined by their past and their future actions are also a result of the past. The reason kid shows can easily add time travel is because they don't try to add layers to fictional characters like writers do.

Who can argue if I say another person changing the past to take that toy car I loved as a kid didn't turn me into evil mastermind? Basically, the reason you can even go back in time in the first place is because past events are 'determined' to happen due to events prior leading up to it. Changing something might not change the entire story, but it will at least leave behind evidence that you were actually there.

Okay, I'll finally give some examples now. You know in Doctor Who where he goes back in time and the only change to the future is someone remembering a big blue police box? It's a little like that, not all actions really need to change anything, since it's hard stopping events that are fully 'determined'.

Different problems in the past require different solutions whether it be needing to stop someone they really WANT to do, making a mistake out of unstable emotions, or just stopping them from being crushed by a tree that happened to fall on them.

If your character goes on a evil power trip saying that he's the lord of time because he can time travel then the reason he'll most likely be proven wrong is due to the inherent 'smallness' of one person overall.

Even if you wanted to stop Neil Armstrong from stepping on the moon, there's literally nothing you can do about it if you're just some normal guy who cannot influence people of greater stature.

If you try raiding NASA, you get turned into a sieve by bullets. If you try speaking out, there is no way these learned people would listen to the words of a plucky teenager who says he's from the future.

This is why time travel stories like Stein's Gate are so character driven. After all, if you already know these people, then there's a greater chance of persuading them NOT to do something that messes the future.

However, this is all me assuming that your main character is the one time travelling. If it is given to a side character instead then this trope can be twisted into truly unique stories where despite the main character not being in the know initially, a whole mystery can be uncovered through slowly giving out information that suggests a unnatural phenomenon.

Now I've said enough about 'going into the past' already. Now let's talk about the future. Let me get one thing out of the way first: There are zero disadvantages to travelling into a time where you're already dead and they can't 'travel back' to arrest you because of something stupid like wearing ancient clothing in this world where everyone specifically wears the exact same outfit. 

However, if you are actually interacting with your future self, then the timeline will already be changing ever so slightly. There's this Manga called Time Lover (I think) where the main character was accidentally getting phone calls from her deceased lover, this phone call being way back in the past.

In this story, the initiator of the paradox isn't her but someone relevant to her from the past, and the only way to save her lover and change her 'present' is to figure out who was responsible for killing him.

Now this was a highly specific example I gave but you get the gist of it, right? The who shtick of paradoxes and time loops is that the audience and protagonist actually need to search for the solution of how to fix their problem and actually getting it done. In the moments before these two goals are achieved, it is just used to characterise the main cast since I wouldn't read about people I don't like.

Oh yeah, there was thing time travel stories do a lot which demands the main character to not meet himself or the world will end or something, but that kinda thing isn't required. Just like I was saying with my first point, how time travel affects reality is up to your imagination. I mean, all you'd really think if someone looking like yourself came up to you would be: "Isn't this guy incredibly handsome?"

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

In this world also exists academies which are meant to nurture young talents and tap into their potentials to make them as strong as they can be.

Magic exists in this world and is separated into the elements of Water, Fire, Earth, Lightning, Air, Light and Dark.

Everyone will awaken innate abilities at the age of 10. Innate abilities, unlike Magic, does not have a limit to how much you can use it and does not tire you as fast as Magic.

The more powerful the ability, the rarer it is. The list below shows some examples using mundane, cliche powers.

Tier 1-4 --> Horrible. Powers such as speaking as being able to sleep while eyes are open, Telekinesis of up to 50 kilograms and the ability to eat as much as you want without feeling full. (Still grow fat)
Their only choice is to learn magic else they will not be able to register in the Adventure Hall. Those who have no talent in magic can only resort to other jobs which do not require power.

Tier 5-6 --> Mediocre. Powers such as Telepathy at a limited range, Flight and Enhanced Strength and Speed to a certain extent.
They could survive as an adventurer if they learned martial arts or how to use a weapon but will not be able to go far. To go far, they have to learn magic.

Tier 7-8 --> Awesome. Powers such as Telekinesis of up to 500 Kilograms, Telepathy anytime, anywhere, invisibility at will.
Even if they do not learn Magic, their value as an adventurer would be extremely high, guilds and parties would fight for them. However most still learn magic as it only brings benefits.

Tier 9 --> Unparalleled(Except for 10) Powers such as the manipulation of the different elements(fire, water etc.) Dark and Light can somehow be condensed into matter. Shhh, science does not matter here.

Tier 10 --> Only 1 person has received a power so strong in the known history. He was part of the 5 man team that saved the earth and was also the leader. He later became known as The Legendary Knight. His Power was that he could absorb and store solar energy and use it in any way he wants. Just a little infused into his sword and it would cause a giant explosion once it hit something.

Average lifespan (Not strong): 120
Average lifespan(If they die of old age) (Strong): 300

Money:
100 bronze = 1 silver 
1000 silver = 1 gold
100 gold = 1 platinum

800 Years before David was born, Earth was in a desperate state. 

Never before had the world seen magical beasts, however one day due to a reason still unknown, a huge influx of magical beasts and monsters suddenly appeared and along with it, a Mythic-Classed Monster. 

It's goal? To destroy humanity.

However, from the crisis emerged five people who risked their lives to rescue the Earth from peril and were later deemed as heroes.

From then, a new age had begun, one where magic and powers were no longer scorned upon for it's uselessness but worshiped for their nessecity.

During the earliest days of being with my future wife; I had many Tenshi learning stories and Succubus stories to read.  I made a short list of stories I thought would be inspiring or educational.  

Story telling would be an important part of my life during the child raising decades.

It was this adventure story that caught my sympathy more than the others.

'My Adventures with the Resort-Amorphic Adaptive Beach Towel"

People at work complain that the corporations expected so much these days.  How the people at the top get benefits and travel and fine meals.

As a woman in marketing, those things are a part of business travel.  So often, you reach a point where you hardly think to those nice things as 'nice' anymore.  They are constant formalities with a sales goal attached.

So it amused me when I was forced to take a vacation.  Something about 'new workplace' guidelines.
I landed a very nice itinerary for a bargain price.  Two weeks at an artificial island resort.  Far away from everything.  A true vacation.  Disconnected from constant marketing discussion and updates.

The story starts at an airport.  The last airport before reaching that freshly crafted Island.

All of my luggage was missing.  I only had what I was wearing.

There were Kiosk stores at the airport.  The prices were high (obviously).  The clerk made an earnest sales pitch to something very premium (the most deluxe model available).
The clerk waited with a fixed smile.  Her eyes down toward the counter.  Until they rang up the charges to my personal credit.  Then it a fast sequence of being registered as the official owner ( the garment actively initialized while touching my skin).

I had a new small travel bag with new essentials; and in it I had a Resort-Amorphic Adaptive Beach Towel.

I did not realize how lucky I was.  How that Artificial towel with artificial intelligence was going help me.  Because my vacation was about to reach multi-planar levels of trials and adventure.

On vacation, you can meet people well outside the usual. One business innovator makes his new friend a partner. Wealthy Clients can have perfect portraits. Young daoists, today we are going to talk about a serious problem with Webnovel. Good stories are being ruined with this horrible storytelling.

Of course, I am talking about copy paste plots! These are especially rampant in xianxia stories or stories translated from Asia. Of course, some stories put a twist on it and most don't. Examples of this would be:

"Qin Shuren walked into the famous Everlasting Pagoda of Food restaurant and got a waiter to lead him to a table.  Today was one of Qin Shuren's lucky days! Qin Shuren finally got enough money from that old man to eat at a good place. Looking at the menu and deciding what to eat, Qin Shuren called over a waiter and humbly asked, 'May I have the Fish Lord speciality?'

'Of course.' The waiter responded with a smile. Qin Shuren patiently waited but suddenly a loud roar came from a few tables over. 

'Who took the speciality! Your Father will have to teach them a lesson while Master Yao is away!'"

There's no real meaning to have a conflict over that little thing! If anything, you should make it more exciting and something actually worth fighting over. Here's an example:

"Lang Tai was going to get his younger sister back from the evil Corpse Mountain sect! They were notorious for using young girls and boys as re-animated corpses to fool good people. Lang Tai thought this was disgusting, but it was a dog eat dog world and he wouldn't go out of his way for someone he didn't know. But now, it was different! They were declaring war on him! Lang Tai! The revered cultivator from another realm! 
Lang Tai would not let these injustices stand.

As Lang Tai rode his flying sword up to the Corpse Mountain's pocket realm, he felt a very strange force running through the spirit vein of the mountain. Lang Tai was only slightly taken aback though, and quickly regained his confidence. Lang Tai still had the Dao of Glory on his side, and he wouldn't let his dao heart falter.

Lang Tai saw his younger sister up at the very peak of the Corpse Mountain sect's pocket realm entrance. Lang Tai saw an elder leading his younger sister in, and Lang Tai felt his sister had been manipulated! Lang Tai arrived in an instant and..."

Any longer and you'd mistake this story for Lang Tai's. I had a great time writing about Lang Tai though..

Enough with those silly thoughts! Filler is all I need to focus on. Hopefully some authors can learn that fighting "Young Masters" is not original anymore! What about the people who crazily cultivate and consider that as a competition? Or the people who want to be the best in archery, swordsmanship, etc.

There are so many unique characters waiting to be explored, but you still have to go with the same "Young Master" plot! Shame on you.
