It would not wake-up just because it had no more actual need for sleep. At it's age, sleeping was the thing that granted it the most comfort. The reason it woke was because it felt a strange disturbance.

It sensed an annoyance in it's future. Not danger, or foreboding, just general exasperation. 

In confusion over it's first premonition in quite some time being one that seemed quite benign, the dragon begrudgingly went back to it's slumber, continuing from where it's mystical trip through the realm of dreams left off. 

After all, it had it's own arrangements to ward off annoyances.

This was a dragon who was non-hostile- the consequences of it actually wishing to harm Ace and Joker made them inwardly shudder.

Ace took a deep breath, and discarded his flippant attitude. Joker and Ace did not say another thing to each other, before once again entering the depths of the cave, no different than it appeared in the prior illusion.

Quickly, they found themselves in what seemed to be a throne room after going through that familiar entrance area, but without the distorted formation.

A large bed resembling that of a dog's lay on the other side of the giant throne room. Leading up to it was a large, grey carpeted walkway on what seemed to be a substance resembling a more glittering marble making up the floor. There were murals over every inch of wall and ceiling, with the ceiling in question resembling that of the Sistine Chapel. Yet, in contrast to the awe-inspiring biblical imagery, various scenes of the gruesome end of the world in many different forms took up every inch of the area besides the floor.

However, Ace and Joker saw none of this, at least not at first.

Their eyes were instead glued onto the being lying on the large, grey dog bed (that despite looking like a dog bed still exuded a bizarre aura)-

Just as grey as the carpeted walkway and plush dog bed, a dragon slept. It seemed to release no presence whatsoever, but the duo before it had no intentions of underestimating it any further. At this point, Ace whispered to Joker in his head.

Around 2 AM.
In an abandoned building, a woman and her two young children slept on the floor. They were the ones whom Kiba watched when he was at White Angel Corporation.
Swoosh~
A blinding flash of white light emerged on the terrace opposite to his building. The flash turned into Kiba.
"I always thought my sadness for the people of the slum was just an emotional imbalance caused by the after-effects of sex. But perhaps it was never so simple."
Kiba muttered to himself as he observed the woman and her two children.
"Maybe Lisa wasn't entirely wrong when she told me that I have done nothing, even though I possess such power..."
He stretched his right hand towards the floor where the woman and her children were sleeping. Ripples of energy swept forth, converging on the floor.
CRASH!
The woman waked up with fright.
She took out a curved knife from her torn clothes and aimed in front of her. Even though the lack of light made it impossible for her to see, she didn't let that show on her face as she waved the knife.
"Don't move or I will kill you!" The woman threatened but there was no response.
Inwardly, she trembled but she continued to put a brave front. She knew she couldn't afford to show her weakness, otherwise, her poor children would suffer.
After a minute of no sound, the woman thought she was being overcautious. She has assumed the overlord has sent someone to sell her to the brothel, and use her children either for organ harvesting or begging.
The woman cleared her mind and lit a candle adjacent to her. She wanted to confirm what waked her up.
"Wh-what is that?" The woman was startled when she saw a large box a few meters away from her.
"Was it the sound of this box's crashing that waked me up?"
She moved closer to the box, with the knife aimed in her front. She was a mutant but lack of food has made it impossible for her to use her abilities. The only thing she could rely on was the curved knife.
"Ahh!" She didn't dare believe the markings on the box. If she wasn't mistaken, they denoted the box contained food!
She started opening the box while trying to not excite herself.
"Calm down, woman! It is too good to be true!"
The woman said to herself but she was anything but calm. She thought it was someone's idea of a joke or a way to knock her out, but inside her, there was hope!
Hope that the box contained the food.
As she saw the items inside the box, her eyes erupted with tears.
There were over 100 cans of food items along with thousands of dollars cash!
"High-grade food items specialized for mutants!"
The woman couldn't believe the text on the food cans. She nervously opened one food can and her spirits lifted as she smelled the aroma.
"They are genuine!" She felt on her knees, crying in excitement. The woman was suspicions before but after smelling the aroma, she thought no one will waste so many efforts for a prank.
"Who would give them to me? Or maybe someone has placed them here temporarily...and later on, will come back for them? If then, I and my children..."
When she thought of this, she quickly let go of the food cans. She quickly started wrapping up the box, afraid the owner of the box might catch her.
In the slum, she was at the bottom of the food chain and she knew she didn't stand a chance against someone who can afford such high-quality food.
"Sighs~"
A sigh suddenly sounded inside her mind, startling her. She checked around but there was no one besides her children. They were still in deep sleep as if under a magic spell.
"The food and money are yours and yours alone," A strange voice ringed inside her mind," Neither do you have to pay me now or in future, in any form."
The woman wasn't able to judge if the voice belonged to a male or a female, but she was able to feel the voice carried no nefarious thoughts against her.
"Why?" The woman couldn't understand what has she done for deserving such a good fortune.
"You have proved that true unconditional love is possible in this cruel world."
"Thank you!" Her eyes were filled with tears as she kneeled towards the box. But there were no more words from the mysterious voice.
After a few minutes, the woman rose to her feet. She started hiding the box under rubble in an adjacent room.
"The benefactor might not come for the food but if others came to know, especially the overlords..."
In the slum, people murder for bread much less the highly nutritious food items she had.
Her food cans were nothing less than a treasure and the woman knew it very well. She was fully aware of the consequences if her secret was revealed.
"AHHHHH!!"
The woman was shocked as she heard a horrifying scream from outside. She ran to the window with the candle in her hand.
She felt chill down her spine when she saw the condition of the person who has just screamed.
That man has his body sliced in two parts from the torso. His eyes were wide open in shock as if he couldn't believe how he died so suddenly.
"Isn't that Beggar Liu?" The woman was terrified but also pleasantly surprised.
Beggar Liu has always taken the shares of the food she earned from her activities out there. It was due to him that she would often stay hungry in the past since not paying him would result in death. Beggar Liu carried connections with the overlords that made slum dwellers with no choice but to obey.
"Urgh!"
Multiple screams emerged one after another.
The woman saw a red light, in the shape of a sword, passing through the slum. Heart wrecking shrieks would follow.
"I am an overlord----"
"Don't kill me! I am working on the mayor's pay---"
"Colonel James would---"
"My boss is---"
"Please--"
There were beggings and warnings but the red light killed its targets before the words were complete. The targets used their mutant abilities and modern weapons, but they were completely useless in front of the sword-shaped red light that sliced them into two.
The slum reeked of blood...
Everyone in the slum awakened as they heard the heart-wrenching screams of their oppressors.
"They are dead!"
"Overlords are no more!"
The slum dwellers cried in joy. They didn't know who killed their oppressors or why but to them it didn't matter. They were free, even if for a brief time, and that was enough for them.
"Thank you!"

Kiba gazed at the carnage caused by his powers. He then observed the joyful expressions of the slum dwellers and his lips curved up, forming a smile.
"I never thought the joy of others could make me happy."
He sat down on the terrace, lost in thoughts. He wondered why he did what he just did.
"Was it because I realized my responsibilities after my encounter with Lisa? Or maybe I no longer want to feel guilty by doing nothing for those suffering what I have suffered?"
"No! I have no responsibilities in this world! My powers are mine alone! I risked my life to gain the Cosmic Spark!"
"Similarly, why should I feel guilty and sad for others? The world didn't help me when I was down, so I don't owe the world anything!"
"I am no hero. If I am honest, my actions in Kiba's form have been more of a villain's. And yet my actions of tonight..."
After a few minutes, he started laughing as he found his answer.
"Earlier I used to think I am neither a saint nor a devil. But I was wrong! I am the true devil! I just didn't know what the true devil meant! A true devil was not some evil entity as I originally believed!"
The actions of a saint were guided by the moral convictions of the world. The saint would never do anything that the society believes was morally wrong, no matter how right it was! The thoughts of saints were molded by the concept of right and wrong of others instead of themselves!
On the other hand, the true devil was someone who does what his heart desires, unafraid of the labels of good and evil!
The true devil did what he pleases, regardless of whether it was good or evil from the perspective of the world! The labels of others don't matter to the devil as long as it pleases him!
"I do things that give me happiness regardless if they are considered as good or evil!"
"Making love with the beauties give me happiness, and so does stealing others' wives! Losing myself in the vanity gives me unrivaled joy! The same applies to the life I live as Zed!"
"I helped that woman because it brought a smile to my face! And not because it was the right thing to do!"
"I killed the overlords and their subordinates because it gave me happiness to see the slum dwellers no longer being oppressed! And not because they were abusing their powers by harassing the weak!"
A stream of white light enveloped Kiba as he disappeared from the slums.
"I am the devil who does as my heart pleases!"
His words rang in the night sky...

Chapter Four (2)
My father looked around as he saw me enter and said, "I'll be with you in a few minutes, Saria. I'm just in the middle of something. I don't want to break my line of thought."
I just nodded, knowing that a few minutes could easily become hours if my dad was distracted as he looked like he was now. I always had my own projects on the go, so it really didn't matter how long my father took to take note of me.
I went back to my quick refresher of the fabrication language keys that were part of my work ritual. To my surprise when I looked over the papers, I started to see mistakes in the translation of some of the symbols we used for programming. The symbols and their meaning just seemed to leap out at me as if they had always made sense.
Now in my befuddled and confused mind, they were strangely more familiar than my own enclave language. Somehow, I was just sure that our interpretation of some of the symbols was off, and in some cases, misleading.
I shook my head as I thought, How the hell do I just know that? I looked around the room with wonderment, seeing mistake after mistake.
I was tempted to pick up a pencil and make alterations to correct the information on the papers on the wall, but I knew that without a long discussion with my father that it was forbidden to make any such change. He was very defensive about his work as up on the wall was an accumulation of his life's work with his battle to design new items for creation in the fabricator.
Standing in the center of the room with my feet seemingly frozen to the spot for a few minutes, I looked and pondered over what I understood.
What is happening to me? Today is getting just too bizarre! 
It was suddenly as if the symbols and their meanings were all clear to me. Shaking my head to get back into the real world, I moved slowly to one of the consoles that was my normal workstation. I pulled out the heavy wooden chair carefully, as I was still having problems with my abnormal strength. Luckily it only made a bang as it hit the floor with a heavy thud. This drew a strange look from my father as if he was surprised by the noise. Then, distractedly, he looked back at the console he was working on without saying anything.
Typical Dad, I thought. You could have somebody shouting in here and he would just try to ignore them. Come to think of it, Ma has tried to pull him away from work a few times with nagging but he just ignores her. This always infuriates her.
Now I was able to look at the curved console that was a screen and an input device. It was curved like a flat desk at first, but then went up into a vertical section where most of the information was displayed. At that moment, an image of the design I had been working on was still displayed with the programming algorithms surrounding it in text boxes. I started to look through the design information that I had been programming for the past few days.
My goodness, was I drunk when I wrote this programming specification for the fabricator? I wondered as I read through my work.
I frowned as I could see large errors of where I had completely misunderstood the complex code and specification. I tentatively touched the screen, hoping that I would not break anything with my abnormal strength. Nothing seemed to be affected, so I pulled up an input pad on the screen and started to change my code to something much more sensible.
At first, minutes passed and then tens of minutes as I ran through the code. What I had done before seemed to be gibberish to me as the new sequencing specifications became so clear. Finally, with a sigh of happiness accompanied by wonder, I projected the three-dimensional model of the coded item onto the console.
Metal secateurs appeared as they would when they were fabricated within a viewing box on the console. I had been working on simple secateurs to make them lighter and sharper than the hand-crafted tools we used at the moment.
For years, the nursery staff who worked in growing the plants for exports had been begging for some fabricated secateurs. They had hand-crafted tools that the blacksmith made but like anything that was handmade, it was substandard to fabricated tools that often did the job more efficiently.
So, a requirement had come through a few months prior from the enclave council to my father, to creature a set of tools that could be fabricated for the growers. My father had turned this project over to me as a task to do on the side for when more important tasks were not taking up all our work hours.

As the razor-sharp knife I held passed through his scruffy clothing, I felt a slight resistance as it cut into some kind of armor. I guessed he thought that his armor could take my blow, but the expression on his face changed from one of glee to horror as the serrated blade cut open his skin. Twisting the knife, I ripped through his intestines, trying to damage them as much as I could. I quickly pulled my knife back as I danced around to face the next attacker, a woman of about my size. She had a club raised to bludgeon my head.
I sidestepped in an easy move and ducked, seeing the club sail over my head. To the side of me the first man was falling as he grabbed his guts with blood spraying everywhere. When he fell down, two more equally unkempt people stepped forward.
Before they could reach me, I thrust my other knife in an upper cut into the face of the woman with the club. I registered a flash of horror in her eyes as the edge of the knife cut a diagonal line across her face. I sighed as I knew that the damage would be superficial and not fatal, but thankfully she fell back from attacking me.
From my right-hand side, I felt a sharp pain as something pierced my solar plexus and a man holding a club with a tangle of nails pulled back with my blood covering the nails. I didn’t have any more time to think about what was happening to me, as I felt another blow from another attacker. This time the blow was dead-center in my chest where the pouch hung.
My mind turned blank as my thoughts were centered only on the massive amount of pain I was experiencing. This caused me to crumple to the ground, gasping for breath. With deep breaths I pulled in as much air as possible, but it was like breathing in a hot, humid greenhouse.
Once on the ground, by some survival reflex I curled up into a small ball. I was gasping as my heart felt as if pure agony was emanating from it. My hand felt the sticky blood flowing out of the wound. Strangely enough, I vaguely wondered why my hands were now burning as if I had placed them in a fire.
Then from all around me, I started to feel the kicks as the brutal, thuggish pack were determined to finish me off. I could hear the joyful cheers as people shouted out about what they wanted from my possessions as they kicked me.
Suddenly, the burning that had first started in my hands seemed to ignite into an explosion of energy. I felt my chest flash with burning pain. Now instead of the pain of the pummeling from the pack’s rough boots, the more intense pain was the rapid burning that was spreading from my heart to the rest of my body. I felt as if the veins of my body were on fire with burning, acidic lava flowing through them.
The burning heat extended outward as the rest of my body burned with intolerable pain. It was as if the flow of pain was radially extending from my heart being pumped around the rest of my body. While I was in a state of panic, my dominating thought was of the pain that was burning through my entire body. The only thought of relief was that I hoped I’d fall into the darkness of death or unconsciousness. I just expected my mind to shut down with the incredible pain. Then, suddenly, it felt as if the world slowed down.

The sky has already turned dark when they reached Capital City. Once they landed, Li Qin Yao sent a quick text to her boyfriend and a promise to call him when she arrived at the hotel.
As the mother and daughter walked out of the arrival hall, Xiao Ye was already waiting for them. Li Qin Yao introduced her mother to Xiao Ye and after a brief exchange, Xiao Ye took them to the vehicle and drove to The Orchid.
Once Xiao Ye had handled their check-in procedure, he personally led them towards a suite. It was a two-bedroom suite with twenty-four hours butler at their service.
Seeing the atmosphere and decorating of the suite, Xu Yilan immediately turned to Xiao Ye. Zhang Yu Han's assistant was standing near the wide-open door with a polite smile on his face.
"Are you sure that you did not give us the wrong room?" Xu Yilan asked. "There's just the two of us. Why did you give such a big room."
Xiao Ye smiled politely. "This is what the Director had ordered. He wanted both of you to have the best."
Xu Yilan was about to say something when her daughter put a hand on her shoulder to stop her. 
"Ma, it's fine," Li Qin Yao said. 
Xu Yilan heaved a sigh. Anyway, since this was Zhang Yu Han's intention, she could only accept this. At least they did not have to worry about their lodgings for the time being. As Xu Yilan straightened up her thinking, she then walked over into the bedroom.
At this time, there was a knock on the door. A hotel attendant stood at the door, carrying a box. After handing over the box to Xiao Ye and whispering a few words, the attendant then left.
"Miss Li, this is a gift from Director Zhang," Xiao Ye said as he handed over the box.
Li Qin Yao looked at the familiar pastel pink box and laughed. She did not have to peek inside the box to know that there were Chef Qin's pastries inside. "Thank you, Xiao Ye."
"No problem," Xiao Ye nodded. "Miss Li, if there's anything, you can always reach me via my private number. Director Zhang had reminded me to look after you and your mother during your stay in Capital City." After exchanging a few more words, Xiao Ye then leave. 
Li Qin Yao opened the pastel pink box, picked up the strawberry cheesecake, took a bite, and heaved a satisfied sigh.
Although she too had strawberry cheesecake in her cafe's menu, Li Qin Yao thought that the difference was too great. Chef Qin's creation was more delicious and delicate. Even the presentation looks outstanding. 
After she finished that one slice of cheesecake, Li Qin Yao went to her mother's room. Once she noticed that her mother was in the bathroom, Li Qin Yao went into the opposite bedroom and took out her phone. After a few seconds, an image of Zhang Yu Han appeared on the screen.
Seeing her boyfriend's face, Li Qin Yao's lips curved into a smile. However, that smile froze when she noticed the background. "You're still in the office."
Zhang Yu Han stiffened at her words. He recovered after a few seconds and smiled. "Hmm… I was afraid that I might still be on the road when your call comes in. I'll go back after this." 
Zhang Yu Han had returned to the office after he sent both Li Qin Yao and her mother to the airport. Since he did not have a date with his girlfriend like he usually does, Zhang Yu Han did not look at the time and forgot that he still needed to return.
"Are you busy?"
Zhang Yu Han heaved a sigh and decided to confess. "Just a little bit. Grandfather asked me to help to look into that hotel in L City."
Li Qin Yao felt warmth spreading in her heart. This man was even busier than her but he still made his time to send both her and her mother to the airport.
Sometimes, Li Qin Yao would felt a bit sorry that Zhang Yu Han would spend so much time driving back and forth from Y City to see her. Even if she decided to come to Y City, Zhang Yu Han would insist to send her back home.
Using the time for him to drive over to B City to see her, he could deal with his work and maybe concentrate on another matter. Li Qin Yao knew that time is precious especially for someone like her and Zhang Yu Han. 
Even if they could always arrange to meet on certain days and hang out with each other through video calls like they did now, Li Qin Yao thought that it was not the same. She liked spending time with him even if all they did was to tell each other about their day. 
Moreover, she liked hearing his voice when he was so close to her. 
Zhang Yu Han's voice in person sounded better than on the phone. 
As the thought crossed her mind, Li Qin Yao reached her hand to touch the face on the screen. "Zhang Yu Han, I miss you."
Zhang Yu Han, who was in the middle of telling her about the problem they encountered to purchase that hotel in L City suddenly paused. He looked back at the screen and smiled. "I miss you too."
Li Qin Yao let out a giggle. "Right. I received that box of pastries. Thank you."
"I know you liked them," Zhang Yu Han said. "That's why I asked Chef Qin to prepare them and had them deliver it to you once you arrived."
The two of them chatted a bit and Li Qin Yao briefed him about her plan tomorrow to visit Han Yue Xiu and her mother. Once they hung out, Li Qin Yao walked out of the room and saw her mother watching some news on the television.
"I thought you went to bed early," Li Qin Yao said.
"I couldn't sleep," Xu Yilan said. She turned to her daughter and patted the seat next to her. 
Li Qin Yao walked over and sat beside her mother. Then, she rested her head on her mother's laps and turned to look at the television. "Mom, are you sure you did not want to attend Li Ming Han's wedding? Grandmother and grandfather would be happy to see you again, you know?"
Xu Yilan patted her daughter on her hair and smiled. "It's fine. If I wanted to meet your grandparents I will arrange for another day. Even if I come to that wedding, your grandparents would be too busy greeting their guests."
Li Qin Yao sighed knowing that her mother was not ready to meet her grandparents yet.
"But Yao Yao," Xu Yilan hesitated. "Since I'm going to stay here for a while, I was hoping that you would accompany me somewhere."
Li Qin Yao turned to her mother and asked, "Where do you want to go?"
"To visit your father and brother." 


The first time he saw her, shooting a three-pointer at the high school basketball state tournament, Zhang Yu Han fell in love at first sight. When he tried to look for the girl, he found that she was not part of the school team or any other team. And just like that, his first love ended before it could even begin. Ten years later, Li Qin Yao was having a meal by herself after her friend stood her up. Because of that, she coincidentally eavesdropped to the others’ blind date, where the man was subtly trying to show that he was not interested, and the woman was trying her best to impress him. Anyway, that man did have the type of deep voice that she liked. However, as the man left, he accidentally mistook her phone as his. When the two met again, Zhang Yu Han was ecstatic upon meeting the girl he had fallen in love with years ago. The bad news was that: she was in a relationship. --- Author’s note: This is a slow romance with not too much drama surrounding the main couple’s relationship (hopefully!). As Dack looked at the system's screen it made sense. Everything today had been so odd, so very odd. Though Dack only felt the vague feeling of indifference that one gets when something goes by their head.

Dack closed the screen by pressing on a button that in the top right corner. He opened the screen again, the info stayed the same. Dack chuckled, a melodious sound that drifted in the air, and yet the world was silent as Dack sat there looking.

Everything was going to be different now. Dack had gone by each day with pleasurable indifference. Yet this taste of excitement that was hinted by the blue screen got him asking for more. Yet the cool night did not reveal any of its secrets yet.

The song from before drifted into his mind and he started to whistle.

Dack decided not to do anything as of now. If excitement was to come, it would come for him. He saw how the night beckoned him but he had nobody out there in the town, or in the forest. So he may as well stay inside.

Dack didn't have any weapons, he had never bought a single one, his father had never taught him how to use one. It was very strange out here not to have a single puny pistol but his dad never had one. 

Yet, Dack knew his dad hid things. Right on his death bed, while his dad lay there coughing away, blood at the tip of his tongue. He told Dack, "Don't go up there. No seriously." He remembered his dad laughing, and laughing, and that laughing turning into more coughing but he was still smiling. "Dack but seriously just don't, just not yet, marry someone first, live your life kid I don't care, just not yet." Dack rolled his eyes back then and his dad chuckled. Dack always thought it was his dad's porn collection but his dad's voice told him otherwise.

Something now told him that he had to see what was in there. The world was changing and if the words that the text box said were to be believed all sorts of destructive things would come. Dack didn't want to regret something for the rest of his life.

His dad had always been a private person. He had raised Dack much like an owl, always watching but never ever intervening. Dack knew his dad did something important, he remembered the time some government types tried to get his dad to give them whatever 'it' was. Normally it wouldn't have seemed that important in the vibrant life of an elementary school student but he remembered the suits they wore looked just like the ones that the FBI agents in movies would wear.

Dack walked back inside. All of his dad's stuff was in the basement and the basement was were Dack was going. The door to the basement was a thick wooden door scratched and beaten up by years and years of use. Dack opened it.

A large stairway spread out from beneath him and into the dark. Dack fumbled until he switched on the lightswitch. The basement was covered in all sorts of junk over the years. Dack spotted mounds of books and boxes and boxes of old videogames.

Upon a throne of musty old clothes sat the box of his dad's old stuff. Dack approached it, each step he took more apprehensive than the next. The name the box read "Don't touch until the end of the world, so hopefully never." It was almost ironic but it was entirely his dad.

Dack pulled back the boxes lid and revealed what was inside.

There in the box sat a sword and a musty book. The sword was long and curved and didn't look like anything Dack had seen anywhere. The book was one of those old leather books that you saw sometimes in the bookshelves of old houses. On the backside of the book and in fact, covering the entire box was splotches of a dark red liquid.

Dack took the entire box downstairs to inspect it further. Dack held the sword to the bright fluorescent lights, hoping to find out something about it. Along the edge of the blade countless scratchings of different sizes and shapes laid in neat little rows. The end of the sword separated into two much like the tongue of a snake.

As Dack opened up the book he was greeted by the stench of time. That careful accumulation of age and dust that gave ancient, primeval, ancestral things their scent. The first couple pages of the book were covered in an unreadable script however as Dack flipped to the third page he was greeted by only two words:

"The Art of Waiting"

However, before Dack could turn to the next page he read a horrible sound. Something, some horrible creature, was outside of his house and Dack could only hear the sounds of it dragging its feet along the pavement outside his house.

Dack knew it couldn't have been human, the footsteps were too deep and too imposing, no man or woman could ever walk like that.

Dack grabbed the sword and held it aloft. Even though it was about eight feet(2.5 meters) tall, it felt about as light as a kitchen knife. Dack heard the sound of the steps from the right of him now. Slowly snaking along the wall, dragging itself closer to the golden light of the patio, to where Dack could see it.

Dack waited for it. Patience was the only thing you could do in situations like these, only patience could bring opportunity. Dack watched as it's shadow appeared in the light of the patio. It was tall, taller than Dack but not huge. It had broad shoulders and its forearms and hands were huge and distended(bloated).

Its body revealed itself in the light. It was a pale grey color and its skin was smooth almost like metal. Its legs were bloated and distended just like its arms but attached to them a series of large long glass toenails extended out.

It's most prominent feature was its long tube-like nose that snaked out in front of it feeling everything. The screen door of the house tore apart like paper at its grasp. Yet as it entered the house Dack noticed that instead of eyes it had only a couple of pits. A blind beast.

It lumbered closer and closer to Dack, pushing tables and chairs back. Dack couldn't see any way to attack it that the long arms of the beast wouldn't block. Dack didn't move in case it could hear. As it passed Dack's dishes for dinner it's nose turned towards them.

And with surprising violence, it slammed its hands against the dishes. Instead of shattering the dishes stuck to its hand and sank in. As they sank in the beast made a crashing, horrible sound. Dack could feel that the sound wasn't a sound of pain but the sound of extreme, terrible, pleasure.

Its nose turned to Dack and it started to walk again. It's nose outstretched almost reached Dack's face. Dack held his sword and waited. It took one more step. Dack grips tightened and he brought the blade against the beast's snout.

A clean-cut, not a single sign of being cut, the piece of flesh fell on a table with a thump. Before the beast could react Dack brought the sword with reckless abandon to the left arm of the beast. It sunk in but didn't cut and before Dack could bring the sword out of its flesh the beasts right arms swang right into Dack's stomach.

Dack buckled over from the pain and he could feel a tribble of throwup reach his mouth. The beast finally truly reacting to its nose being gone let out a sound much like the sound of broken glass and started to charge towards Dack.

Dack's sword had long left the flesh of it and was now raised up high above his head. As it came into striking distance Dack brought it down upon the creature's head, as the blade hit it, the beast slammed onto the table below it.

And before it could get back up, Dack brought his sword down again upon its head. And again. And again. Until it would never rise again.

The next time she opened her eyes, Shi Guang found herself lying in the infirmary with Lu Yanchen seated beside her, his face solemn and grim. Struggling to get herself up, she muttered, "What happened to me?"
Maintaining his unruffled composure, he replied coldly, "You suffered a heatstroke."
Shi Guang knocked at that somewhat dazed still head of hers. "The Sun isn't really all that strong today. How could I have gotten a heatstroke?"
"That's because you're a pig who doesn't even know how to head back when she's not feeling well." He replied indifferently. Yet, there was a slight sulking expression that flashed by his face briefly.
With that messy head of hair she was sporting right now and her tomato-flushed cheeks, Shi Guang looked over with a slightly aggrieved look and somewhat teary eyes. "But…it's because you didn't come out."
"That's why I said that you should not come looking for me anymore in the future." As he said that, Lu Yanchen stood up.
Shi Guang said no more at that point; her eyes were red and brimming with glistening beads of tears. Even though she wanted to cry, she lowered her head and forced everything back within her.
The boy who had stood up did not leave. Instead, he asked nonchalantly, "Crying?"
Shi Guang shook her head stupidly. "No."
The air went stale again in silence. Just as Shi Guang thought that Lu Yanchen was going to continue with that lingering silence, a voice rang out, "I forgot to bring my mobile."
Was he trying to explain why he was only out that late?
Because he forgot his mobile, he did not see the text message…?
Shi Guang smiled. Raising her head to look at Lu Yanchen, her eyes were sparkling brighter than the stars up in the skies.
Their gazes froze for a full two seconds before he snapped his head away. When he looked at Shi Guang once more, it was with those eyes that were darker than night as he declared, "I don't need love…Don't come and look for me ever again."
Shi Guang was stunned.
Looking at the back view of his departing figure, she yelled out behind him, "There is no one in this world who doesn't need love!"
She behaved just as she always did.
A few days before Lu Yanchen's birthday, she took the effort to specially learn how to bake cookies and bought an exquisite little gift box.
On his birthday, she handed it to him with a chirpy face. "Happy birthday, Lu Yanchen!"
Lu Yanchen did not take it as he glared at her coldly, wanting to shrug it off.
As Shi Guang tried to hold him back, his expression turned frostier. "I've already told you to not come looking for me ever again."
"Accept this then, and I'll…temporarily not look for you!" Shi Guang's smile did not wash off as she continued bugging him. "You're going for your entrance exam soon. Even though there's no need for you to worry about being unable to enter a good university, I should not let myself bother you in the slightest bit nevertheless."
Lu Yanchen hesitated for a moment before taking over her gift. He gazed at Shi Guang deeply, his expression filled with some strangeness and reluctance in them.
Noticing how his gaze was aimed at the trash bin nearby, Shi Guang was afraid that those cookies she had painstakingly baked would be thrown into the bin as she hurriedly added on, "If you don't eat the cookies that I bake you, you're going to be my boyfriend!"
Lu Yanchen furrowed his brows.
Shi Guang pointed at the bin. "If you were to throw it away, that means that you will not get to eat it. That also means that you're agreeing to be my boyfriend, right?"
With that, Lu Yanchen was at a dilemma as his lips pursed into a straight line. Whether or not he threw it away, he would be put in a spot.
Shi Guang cast a brilliant smile over at him as her eyes curved into a pure and breathtaking smile before she waved out. "Goodbye! I'll come look for you again after your entrance exams…!"
Thereafter, Shi Guang did not head over to look for Lu Yanchen anymore. Even after his entrance exams were over, she did not appear.
At that time, Shi Guang's final exams were approaching, and she was watched over by her aunt daily to revise. After her exams, she could not make it still. That was because she was specially admitted for sports and was rounded up by her teacher for a training session.

This is a really sweet novel about a couple that just annoys one another in the cutest ways. 
Lu Yanchen is a descendant of a powerful aristocratic military family. Cold, aloof, genius and sharp, this is a man that has it all – status, smarts and looks. But none of that matters when it comes to affairs involving his silly woman as everything melts away into an encompassing warmth.
Purple-Red Beauty is someone that spends a lot of time building the settings of her novels. Earlier on, I too was rather annoyed at some of the things that Lu Yanchen did. But once the story gets on track… everything suddenly seemed even sweeter than before!  
If any of you have heard of the Japanese manga Itazura na Kiss or have caught any of the many Japanese (Mischievous Kiss), Chinese (It Started With A Kiss) and Korean (Playful Kiss) drama reboots made for it, you will definitely love it! :P

Walking up, you rub your head. MC:"Ah man, what happened" getting up look around you; seeing nothing but a white void before noticing a transparent flouting rectangle that says 'start'.

Remembering the last memory he had; which was walking home from school before getting hit from Trunk-kun due to listening to music on his headphones and noticing until the driver honked at him.

Putting his last memories and what he learned from anime, and reaching the 'totally obvious' conclusion that he died and is about to be reincarnated.

Seeing as there's no blue haired useless goddess or any for a matter of fact, he become slightly confused since there's no one to greet or explain anything to him. After waiting for a minute, he decide to just press the transparent flouting rectangle that says 'start' since it most likely is a button.

After pressing the button, the word start fades away before hearing the introduction music at the begin of a Pokémon game and seeing professor Oak pop out of nowhere in front of him.

Prof. Oak:"Hello there! Welcome to the-"

Confused that Professor Oak suddenly stopped taking, he look at the text inside the rectangle that Professor Oak is saying and an upside down arrow at the bottom right hand corner of the text box.

Pressing the arrow.

Prof. Oak:"world of POKéMON!-"

Seeing that Professor Oak stop taking and is probably going to do this again, he press the arrow on the text box again and this time holding it so that he'll keep on taking.

Prof. Oak:"My name is OAK! People call me the POKéMON PROF! This world is inhabited by creatures called POKéMON! For some people, POKéMON are pets. Others use them for fights. Myself... I study POKéMON as a profession. First, what is your name?" Saying that, the text box changes into a keyboard. Seeing this, you fill in your name; Anthony. Although you wanted to put your last name; there were only 7 spaces you could use.

Prof. Oak:"Right! So your name is Anthony! This is my grand-son. He's been your rival since you were a baby. ... Erm, what is him name again?"

Seeing the keyboard again, Anthony decide to name Gary cough* cough* I mean put in his name; UrBitch. This will be funny since every time Gary challenges you in game it'll always say "UrBitch has challenged you to a battle" or "UrBitch sent out this Pokémon".

Prof. Oak:"That's right! I remember now! His name is UrBitch! Anthony! Your very own POKéMON legend is about to unfold! A world of dreams and adventures with POKéMON awaits! Let's go!" Saying that the professor instantly disappears.

Looking at the text box again, Anthony saw three options he could choose.

Rubbing his eyes and blinking for a little to get his eyes adjusted again, he could see that he was in a forest with the text box again. Looking at the text box; there are 3 buttons [Charmander], [Squirtle], and [Bulbasaur].
