High school students set up for Halloween Party where trick or treats happen..

Leonie is a student writer and the vice- president of their school’s literary club where she already published diverse creative fiction and nonfiction output. That summer, their school opened a competition about writing a story- blog where it will be followed by the school’s students and others who find the story very powerful. The student who will win the competition shall be given full scholar for the coming school year. With the power of the quill, she will write a story where she could change her life.

The language learning course which tested the ability of the students' minds to read, and comprehend a certain text, acknowledged the variety of literary pieces across the world, expressed one's sentiments, and viewpoints through creative writing, and gave up a speech to the public with a required self-confidence and charisma had conquered the class of Yeats.

"English Time!" a classmate exclaimed.

"Ugh. Why on earth..." Noah said, lying her head onto the armrest.

The teacher had arrived with her male student who assisted her to carry on her stationery materials and left afterwards. 

She expressed her warmest greeting to the class, "Good morning, everyone."

"Gooood Morningggg, Ma'am Rhea," the entire students responded in dullness, deliberately prolonging the words.

"Again, good morning, Yeats."

"Good Morning, Ma'am Rhea! We are happy to see you today!"

The teacher nodded, and commanded them, "Okay, you may now take your seats."

"So Yeats, in this period, we would be having an activity, and I'm sure you would definitely love to hate this one."

The students plastered a counterfeit grin on their faces as they listened to their teacher's introduction. It looked as if their incoming task would be an "easy yet a lazy job" for them.

"You will be composing an original poetry! Isn't beautiful? A form of art of regurgitating all your personal experiences, feelings, aspirations, and showing off your ideals and visions of the world around us by using a piece of paper and a pen. What lies ahead of our future? Who shall be the one to pass this on for the next generation. It's only you, the young ones. As our beloved national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal quoted, 'The youth is the hope of our nation'," Ma'am Rhea Azuela dramatically spoke, and her fists were firmly closed.

Everyone groaned with the exemption of Ma'am Rhea whose energy was trying hard to somehow radiate the entire classroom.

"Hmm... Okay, you only have two options: To create or not to create. My role as a teacher is simply taking down of your grades and morals in your report card. If you want a failing grade, why not? I'll give it to you. Other than that, what does youth always say? You only live once, eh? So, I won't stop you from not submitting your requirement," Ma'am Rhea shrugged.

"Anyways, for those who wished to conform to the task, listen up. Before you start writing, I would love to give a bit of a background about our today's lesson. I'm sure most of you familiar with them. We've known different lyrical poems, epic poems and etcetera. Now, I'll ask you. What is haiku? Anyone?"

"Just give me a gist of it."

Students were staring at each other's eyes, and no one dared to speak. Few were looking at the white board. Most were avoiding an eye contact from their instructor. Some of them were gaping at the outside of the room. Ma'am Rhea whined and continued.

"Guys, you have to talk. Remember, this is an English class. You have to hone your communication skills. How are you going supposed to learn if you don't utilize your mouths? Ha? Come on. No answers are wrong in language. It's more on thoughts and ideas that we should express. You should be engaging more on interaction. And pretty please, let's help each other out. Don't leave me hanging guys, Okay?"

"Now, any thoughts from this group?" she asked, looking at the first row. Ma'am Rhea was about to choose her lucky victim when one of her students raised her right hand, "Ma'am."

"Yes, Miss? What do you think? What is haiku?"

"May I go to the comfort room?" the wench replied.

Some of the senior high students were retaining their soon-to-be-bursted laughter. Ma'am Rhea sighed, and said, "Yes, you may."

The young lass stood up straight, and said, "But, If I am not mistaken, haiku refers to a five-seven-five syllable count in a one three-phrase stanza. It is also originated in Japan."

"Again, thank you for your permission, Ma'am."

The schoolgirl went to the school comfort room, leaving the entire class in amusement. Ma'am Rhea snapped her fingers to get back her little ones' focus.

"That's my girl! She got it right. Finally, someone saved you from danger, eh?" the teacher cunningly grinned, and the student were then relieved. 

"And since this is a surprise activity, you need not to compose a haiku. Still, it is included in your quarterly exams. Instead, I challenge you to write a poem. Freestyle. Whether you want to have your piece that consists of a rhyme, or a regular meter. It's up to you. Make sure it has three stanzas. Do you understand me, Yeats?"

Dassah lifted up her hand up, and called, "Ma'am."

"Yes, Miss Dassah?"

"What would the topic be about?" the student asked.

"Hmm... Good question," Ma'am Rhea nodded, and began considering a great theme for her class's written poetry. Suddenly, a brilliant idea popped up. She smiled and responded to her student.

"It should be based on your personal experience. For example, your bonding with your family and friends. Maybe you want to write about your life as a student, and whatsoever. The sky's the limit."

"So, any questions?"

The class replied, "None."

"Okay. You may now start. And please let me check your composition before the bell rings whether it is done or not. I'll give a plus point and a secret award for those who could create a finished piece," Ma'am Rhea announced, and sat down on her chair to relax her voluptuous legs.

"Ma'am, what is the reward?" one man asked.

"It won't be confidential anymore, if I'll tell you, mister," she said.

The students proceeded writing on their mandatory art work. Creative juices were flooding up inside of their right brains. Tearing papers were echoing everywhere in the section. Loud mental groans from every school teens dominated in the class. Frustration mixed with determination to make a possible masterpiece were obviously transparent on their hopeless faces. Dassah who eventually ended her write-up stood up from her armchair, and submitted it to her English teacher. 

Ma'am Rhea was impressed, and took her ample time to read her three-stanza poem. As she perused Dassah's work, she smiled in delight.

"Miss Quinn."

"Yes, Ma'am?"

"I have a dumb question," the instructor said. She glanced at her unknowing student in mischief, and continued her talk.

" Are you in love?"

"NO WAY, MA'AM," Dassah yelled at her teacher. Her classmates instantly shifted their gaze at the two. She became flustered, and softly spoke, "Umm... Sorry, ma'am. I was just shocked. But, no, I am not, ma'am."

"And what makes you think that I'm uh..."

Ma'am Rhea replied, still smiling, "In love?"

Dassah slowly nodded in embarrassment,"Uh-huh."

"It's just my assumption. It seems the message of your poem conveys about a clichè romance like this love at first sight kind of scene. Ah. Reminds me of my first young love,"  Ma'am Rhea Azuela said, feeling the nostalgia of her past teen era.

"And, what's even more interesting is that I instructed you to have a poem that talks about your life encounters." Dassah's teacher continued.

"Then, I thought I might be wrong, so which is why I asked you."

Dassah again nodded as an abiding servant, and the English teacher spoke again herself, "So, mind if I ask you the story behind this piece of yours?"

"Um... Sure, Ma'am. But, it already says it all," Dassah said.

"It's basically this. I met a guy at a convenience store, and I did not forsee anything that we would see each other for the second time around. And for me, I was happy it happened for the both of us."

Ma'am Rhea could no longer hide her squeals, and let it out without any reservation.

"Oh, ignore my giggles. The story was too cute. But hey, Miss Quinn. This is your prize," she commented, and gestured her to move closer. Dassah came near to her instructor in obedience.

"You'll present it to the other class."

"Ma'am?!" Dassah exclaimed in terror.

"Shh... Don't tell anyone," she warned the young lady.

"But, but..."

Ma'am Rhea smiled, and said, "You may go back to your seat, Miss Quinn."

Dassah heaved a sigh of defeat, and move herself back to her armchair.  Floating her countless regrets of submitting her poem, the young lady had enough of the trap, and let the situation sail by itself.

Dassah Quinn had left no choice but to stay with a perfect stranger. Yearning for someone who would help them get out of trouble and leave the olden storage room is her gleam of hope. 

In the course of incarceration, Dassah unexpectedly entailed herself in a scheme of discerning the nondescript man, One One.

'Uncle Vinnie, am going to school tomorrow,' Khalayi quipped at the breakfast table. Uncle Vinnie looked at her with a face that seemed to read 'it was about time young lady'. Relieved by her decision, Uncle Vinnie left the breakfast table abruptly to inform the school about the status of her education. Khalayi had attempted to stop him from fussing but he declined by stating that he might as well be done with the preparation before she could change her mind. The week had been one of tug as Uncle Vinnie tried to convince the stubborn 17-year-old to get back to high school and get done with her final year. The 1st term of her final high school year had just begun. Even though she could be considered smart, her school attendance could not be ignored.
 His greatest fear was that her wealth would get into her head at one time and she would decline her school work. Her self-drive impressed him and even though her company wasn't the best, he never had to worry about her grades and school activities. She was among the top 3 students in her school, captain of the football team, and secretary of the Art club. She had won several awards in creative writing. Her only flaw was her assertiveness that reared its head once a while. This had led the school to consider entrusting her with a position as a student leader, to tone down her assertiveness which was applied mainly against the school administration. It was a school custom that tried to curb down trouble-makers by absorbing them as student leaders. Generally, student leaders were never liked due to the fact that they had to side more with the teachers and less with the students. A sort of 'divide and rule' tactic replicated in a tiny system that shapes the workforce.
At one time she had questioned her history teacher about the foundation of the education system which seemed to replicate the colonial master's system. She brought up things like slavery and a colonized mind to question the school leadership system. According to her, absorbing trouble-makers as a student leader was similar to how the colonial masters absorbed some natives as superintendents or chief that reported to them about fellow natives. The teacher was incensed by her inquiry and description. Her opinion was cruelly shut down and branded as a form of rebellion. Another time she argued about the chronological facts of a bible story that her teacher presented, stating that the teacher's fact did not coincide with those in the bible- leaving the teacher livid. All these argumentative episodes were silently suppressed because she was quick to point out that it was an educational discussion and could not be termed as a case of indiscipline. As a result, this and other discussions never made it to Uncle Vinnie's and her grandmother's ears.
To Uncle Vinnie and her grandmother, she was a bubbly and kind girl. However, to the teachers and students, she was a tiny terror sent to torment them. Her innocent looks did not coincide with her energy and sharp tongue. Her two weeks of absence from school had relieved them and they even hoped she would not show up that year. The headmistress felt a headache coming up once she received Uncle Vinnie's call. Her hopes of a peaceful year were dashed. It is just one year, one year of facing off with the little trouble maker. The little episodes of arguments with the teachers, bullying, and incitement of students had not passed her unnoticed. She had had to change the school menu, renovate hostels for students considered of a lower cadre and change the grading system for reasons such as classism as a result of her incitement. The arguments were packaged in a manner that sounded convincing to parents and philanthropic to Uncle Vinnie. Who could believe her if she stated that Khalayi had done it out of boredom and a desire to rile the administration?
To the students, she was an unpredictable tyrant. At one time she was sweet and friendly; other times she was a bully. For her, as long as it suited her situation, you could be a friend or foe, even if the situation was something as shallow as getting a tick out of bullying someone. Her current target was Nasike, a quiet girl who got out of everyone's way and just wanted to live peacefully. That was the order of the day, before the accident and before Nastanje happened. Nastanje relegated this priority to the back of her mind in the 2 weeks that she had been trying to figure her way around all this mystery. She actually liked Khalayi, it was like reincarnated into a character she had never unleashed because her world could never accommodate it. Without the power and money to back her up, she always had to tow the line. Having parents and 5 siblings, she could not afford to add to her parents' trouble. Any form of argument no matter how logical would have been packaged as a rebellion that deserved punishment where the minimal would have been a suspension and the maximum an expulsion. But now, now she had the environment and the opportunity to unleash the wildcat within.
Khalayi's wish wasn't spectacular, just for her to live to the fullest. To live as the person, she always wanted to be, without regret. Nastanje thought it was the easiest wish someone could ever ask her to fulfill. 
'Ah, youth, youth, youth, youth, youth….'  Khalayi kept murmuring, exhilarated. A backpack was strung on her back and a suitcase dragged through the school gate, glasses covering the naughty glint at the corner of her eyes. She smiled innocently and coolly, disarming the teacher on duty and her class teacher who had been standing by the gate watching the students pour in. The relaxed teacher abruptly jumped into an alert mode seconds later after seeing the smile. That smile was never a good sign, not a good sign at all. The teacher exclaimed in his mind. 
'Let's work hard together during this final year, Sir', Khalayi quipped after greeting the class teacher. The teacher hoped it was school-work work hard and not activism-work work hard. The previous three years had not been enough to steel him through the kind of antics the student he loathed and liked at the same time pulled.

Dull, boring, routine do-gooder. 
'No, am not talking dirty with you now because am in the office and i look innocent and everyone thinks am a good person'

She smiled innocently, her eyes holding an evil glint.

The characters might irk you. They have no apologies for who they are...

I am not that pleasant to the eye. I have these forever tiny pimples that take shelter on my face. And I think I have gotten big over the years of stress-eating. 

This guy in front of me does not think so though. 

/"I was wondering if you wanted to grab some dinner later."/ 

Or maybe he is just making fun of me and this is some kind of prank he is trying to pull off with his jock of a friends. I have seen this guy and he is the new member of the basketball team of Moordale High. I have not known him that much, but I know the basketball boys were assholes. 

This guy standing in front of me is a sophomore and it sucks that he is taller than me. He has brown curly hair, black eyes, and frickeled cheeks. And I think he is pleasant to the eyes, too pleasant. 

/"I was wondering if you wanted to grab some dinner later."/ 

Too straightforward to even be believable. I look boringly back at his eyes, which showed nervousness. He glances at something behind my back. The jockholes look like they are snickering. 

I grab the books from my lockers and look back at him.

"Trust me, you don't wanna be like them." I walk away from him and towards my first period. 

You see, the basketball players at my school hate me. They hate me for accidentally finding out their secret. I never meant to intrude but they were just not that careful. That's why they left me alone, sadly my proof was shattered by them, my phone, and now I had nothing against them. Just kidding, I backed it up on my laptop. I am not that fucking stupid. One more dirty move, and their parents will know that their precious innocent sons are actually not that innocent anymore. 

Wednesday is the best school day. Creative Writing is first period. And I love the subject. And I get to be with Atlas in the same room. 

I quickly go to my seat and write my thoughts and feelings of the day. Mr. Harrington has this idea of writing down what we are feeling and I don't know for what purpose. 

/I think I will be fine./

He has not yet arrived. I roll the paper and put it in the box of his table. 

I turn to my seat to find Atlas already sitting and writing down on his paper. He is 7 seats away from me. He is in front while I was at the back.

In no time, the students filled the room and Mr. Harrington started his lecture of the day. I listened to him properly but my mind keeps bringing me back to what happened this morning.

/"Your mom is coming here tomorrow, please clean your room."/ I hear my dad's voice. It was not my mom, coming to the house, that was bothering me. It was my dad. Sure, he changed. But everything was awkward at the house, he is always early for work and arrives so late. He does not look at me when he says something. We don't eat together. It's like we are two strangers living in the same house. Like housemates that are supposed to get along. We don't get along. He barely even talks to me. It has always been like that. I was always the one initiating the conversation when we eat together, which barely happens. I tell him about school and he would reply with words that are blank and I ask him about work and he'll say it's okay and the conversation ends.

/I think I will be fine/ I snap out of my thoughts and look back at Mr. Harrington who has started reading the rolled papers. 

"Whoever you are, remember that it gets better. Your day might have started badly, does not mean it ends badly, do something fun, something you want to do. It's a bad day, not a bad life." Mr. Harrington was good at motivation and making students feel better. I wonder why isn't the guidance councilor when he was better than Mrs. Yuan. 

"I beat off three tim..." the class is in hysterics, including me. "Now, what did I say about this stuff?..." He rambles on and on about the use of language and then continued to read the other papers, which of course, had plenty more unclean contents. 

I look back at Atlas, whose back I can only see. He is laughing along with the class, his broad shoulders bobbing in the process. 

He is good at poetry as well. He is good at everything he does. He is this perfect student, this perfect jock, this perfect son, this perfect boyfriend, but he will never be a perfect friend. 

Suddenly, I am so angry. Angry at him. Angry for what he has done. Angry that he gave up on our friendship. Angry that he blamed me for his parents separation when his parents actually had reunited and stayed a perfect family in town. Angry that he did not even reach out and try to recompense. Angry that he chose to be friends with assholes. Angry that he is unattainable. 

And I am angry at myself, for not being able to let go. For messing things up. For not being able to save my parents' marriage. Angry at my mother for leaving. Angry at my mother who has built a new family and they are probably talking and not awkward with each other. Angry at my father for cheating. Angry that he isn't proud of his faggot of a son that he could not even talk to let alone look at. I am angry that I chose him. 

I am angry at myself for being the way I am. I am angry that as I sit here, my eyes blinking back tears, looking at Atlas' back, I realize that I am jealous of him. That I have always been. And I hate it. 

"Mr. Jones, are you okay?" I look back at my 6'4 teacher who is now standing in front of me. I know all eyes are on me. They are probably looking at me weirdly, including Atlas. But I don't look at any.

I clear my throat.
"Um, yeah... I am okay sir."

I will always say I am okay.

Hyunwoo signed the contract to purchase the farmland lot near his house without any hesitation. Though he had yet to see the blueprint of the new research center, he had the builders work on the construction of the third factory of Hyunwoo's Mom, the farming ground for the grasshoppers, and the dormitory for students coming from faraway places. 
In particular, the dorm was designed to house forty students, so not only could the students of the alternative school but also Ani & Funny students and staff could stay there.
The next thing to do was to bring in the students.
Hyunwoo first called Byungwon Kang, his former colleague at Aurum.
He thought Byungwon would welcome his project with open hands because he and his son, Mingyu, liked the educational methods of Dreaming School very much, but Byungwon reacted differently.
"Unauthorized alternative school? In that case, my son can't get a high school diploma, can he?"
Actually, his son Mingyu entered an authorized alternative high school as soon as he graduated from Dreaming School because he wanted to obtain a high school diploma. 
Hyunwoo felt a bit disappointed. Mingyu's great creative ability stood out when he was attending Dreaming School. He felt regrets about losing a creative student like Mingyu, but it was not something Hyunwoo could decide as far as Mingyu's future was concerned. 
All he could do was help Mingyu make the correct choice.
Hyunwoo was convinced that creative students like Mingyu would need a more creative education method like that of the Dreaming School, but Hyunwoo had to prove it by action not just by words, so he prepared a written plan on how to cultivate the students' abilities and what was different from the education methods of Dreaming School despite some common characteristics. 
He valued the students' experiences, so he would make sure that the students learned more through travel than classroom education. He would maximize his network to help the students experience all kinds of occupancies. 
He also mentioned in the plan that the students would spend a lot of time assisting Duyoung, Kuroda, and Taeho with their research projects. 
Byungwon changed his mind after hearing Hyunwoo's detailed briefing. He agreed with Hyunwoo that it was more important for Mingyu to cultivate his ability to plan his own future rather than obtaining a high school diploma.
"Got it. Let me discuss it with Mingyu. I don't think he will oppose it."
Hyunwoo called other prospective students and persuaded them in the same way. All of them were graduates of Dreaming School.
Their parents showed concern at first, but when they examined Hyunwoo's plan, they decided to send their children to Hyunwoo's alternative school. 
Hyunwoo succeeded in bringing a total of ten students, far short of his original goal of twenty, but the number of incoming students was not the issue. 
"Yea, what is the big deal? I'll do my best to raise even ten students the best I can."
While Hyunwoo was looking around the construction site of the research center, he received a call from Sonjong, the chief accountant of KOVE DREAM.
"Hi, the chief of Ansan Customs Office wants to visit our office," she said.
Hyunwoo was familiar with some of the customs office but not its chief.
"What's the reason?"
"He said he wanted to offer customized consulting."
"What is it?"
Though it was new to him, Sonjong was aware of its meaning as she had the relevant experience in the field as a former customs official. 
"Well, he is trying to find the kind of information that can benefit our company. There is nothing to lose even if you meet him, and this is a free consultation."
"Okay, I trust you then. What should I do?"
"You can just set up the time then the Ansan Customs Office will take care of the rest."
Hyunwoo set up the next afternoon as the consulting time, and the chief customs official visited the office of KOVE DREAM at the appointed time. 
As Sonjong said, the purpose of the official was purely to help Hyunwoo's company. Obviously, the mayor of Ansan asked the chiefs of various city government offices to help Hyunwoo's business.
The chief official gave Hyunwoo a rough briefing on the possible benefits, and his staffer, who accompanied him, specifically explained about various support programs available, but they were not compatible with the situation of KOVE DREAM. Most of the benefits were available for  companies with several years of tax returns records. 
One of the benefits grabbed his attention, though.
"Have you just said that if we use a bonded warehouse, we can store items there without paying any tax?"
"No, what I mean is you can delay the imports declaration until the time you want to declare. You can delay taxes until then."
Hearing his explanation, Hyunwoo felt it could be of great help to KOVE DREAM when he maximized its benefits. Currently, KOVE DREAM is importing all the items through the port of Incheon or Pusan with all the imports declarations. 
In order to transport the import items to the warehouse of KOVE DREAM, Hyunwoo had to complete the import processing first, which meant that he had to pay the duty and added value taxes when the items entering the port. These days the monthly imports cost over 30 billion won, and he had to pay as much as 3 billion won in added value taxes, but if he could make use of the bonded warehouse, he could immediately move the import items there without going through the imports declaration process. When the items were sold, then he could take them out of the bonded warehouse. 
There were other advantages of using the bonded warehouse.
Sometimes, Hyunwoo received wrong items. In that case, he had to ship them back to Vietnam through a series of difficult processes. If Hyunwoo had a bonded warehouse, he could confirm if the import items were correct even before the customs clearance, skipping all the burdensome processes. 
"I like the bonded warehouse system very much. KOVE DREAM wants to use it. Can you advise us?" said Hyunwoo, showing great enthusiasm. 
Though the bonded warehouse system offered lots of benefits, there were some tough conditions for any company to enjoy the benefits. Above all, they had to hire at least one professional dealing with the bonded warehouse matters with the relevant license. 
"How can I hire such a person?" asked Hyunwoo. 
This time the chief customs official intervened, "If you don't know anyone in that field, let me recommend someone. Actually, this gentleman, Mr. Kang, is an assistant manager here, will retire at the end of the week. He is pretty experienced and knowledgeable in that area."
Hyunwoo focused on the middle-aged Mr. Kang.
It seemed that the chief customs official's primary purpose of meeting Hyunwoo was to introduce Mr. Kang to him for hiring. 
Hyunwoo was put on the spot at the moment. At a glance, Mr. Kang didn't seem to fit the position. Besides, as he was old, Hyunwoo would find it hard to manage him.
When Hyunwoo was hesitating, Mr. Kang opened his mouth. 
Mr. Kang stuttered a lot. Though he had no difficulty communicating with others, his stammering certainly would obstruct him from receiving calls from customers.
"You don't have to feel any burden. I'm seeking a job, but I am not financially stressed. In fact, I was planning to travel or read books after retirement. You don't have to hire me."
"Hey, Mr. Kang. If you have a job, you don't get older. Even if you receive one million won, you will stay young if you keep working," said the chief officer.
At that moment, Hyunwoo noticed the phrase 'one million won'. How can a retired man like Mr. Kang be hired for such little compensation of one million won per month?
Waiting for the opportune time to cut in, Hyunwoo asked, "If I hire you, what kind of job do you want me to assign you?"
"Well, it depends on your decision. As I specialize in dealing with bonded warehouse matters, I think I will mainly take care of that kind of work. And you can adjust the compensation, depending on my assignment."
"In fact, I know nothing about that kind of work. If I may ask, what kind of work do you want to do and how much do you want?"
"To be honest, it is not that easy for a public servant like to to get a job at a private company, and it will be also hard for me to serve you as the president. And you will find it difficult to use me as an ordinary employee."
Mr. Kang had a point. It was difficult to change the boss-subordinate relationship. Even though Mr. Kang was retired, those who worked with him would still be his friends. And if Hyunwoo treated Mr. Kang roughly because he was Hyunwoo's subordinate, the customs official might take revenge on Hyunwoo.
Mr. Kang continued, "So, I guess the title 'advisor' would be perfect. I will just advise you on the matter of managing bonded warehouses. As the workload is not that much, I think 500,000 won per month is appropriate."
Scratching his head, Hyunwoo thought 500,000 won was too little.
"I think 500,000 won per month is way too small. I think you deserve at least one million won."
Deep inside Hyunwoo felt that even that compensation was less than that of a part-timer.
But Mr. Kang's attitude was pretty sincere. Though he stammered, he didn't propose 500,000 won to sound out Hyunwoo's feelings.

In short, they were taught about all the classes of living organisms.
Of course for Math 4, they focused on simple variable math... like 5x=10, find X.
In that class, they focused on understanding one to two variable equations..... which were usually linear equations.
For chemistry 2, the students would still focused on reactions, atoms and so on.... but now with the use of calculators, they had begun learning about calculating molecular weight and so on.
Of course just so that the students could breathe a little, music, literature, physical education and arts & craft were essentially a must.
In short, this semester was a busy one.
Today, Linda and little Momo were heading towards the Chemistry Lab in the new school building.

You all have 7 minutes to answer them.
Remember, no cheating and no copying.... these small tests make up 20% of your final grade.

Linda immediately flipped her question sheet and got to work.
For this Chemistry 3 course, they had 1 theory class on Tuesdays, and 1 lab session on Thursdays.

Jeff, owner of the italian restaurant, discovered that for several days, Eric had changed. He was no longer distracted or in a daze, he became wholly spirited. Despite his looks, Eric had maintained his middle-aged mind, so witnessing Jeff's reaction, he just smiled indifferently. After all, this was Hollywood, every year thousands of people came here from all over the world to pursue their dreams in the movie industry, but the successfull were few, so Jeff's reaction was to be expected.
 
"That… When you have finished writing your script,  you can show me. You have to know that in the past I also once wanted to be an actor, well my appearance was not what it is today,"  Jeff patted his large belly and continued: "In the past I was very handsome. He had noted down the addresses of some famous North American publishing houses ahead of time, even if these large-scale publishing houses rejected Eric's draft, he would not be disappointed. It must be known that North America had tens of thousands of large and small publishing houses alike, somebody would eventually take a liking to his novel. Although Jurassic Park once rushed to the New York Times bestseller list, it wasn't technically Eric's goal, what he wanted was to own the copyrights for the movie as well as the TV rights once the novel was published.
 
"Hello, what can I do for you ?" Just as he stepped into the printing shop, a somewhat thin black female clerk warmly welcomed him.

As the black girl looked at the thick stack of paper, her eyes lit up slightly and the smile on her face grew brighter: "Sir, can I take a look ?"
 
"No problem." Eric handed over the manuscript.
 
The black girl did not pay attention to the content, but counted the number of pages: "There's more than 300 pages, but I'll count it as 300. A full copy of the manuscript would be 30 US dollars, how many copies would you like sir ?"

Eric nodded: "Yes, it's a novel I just finished. I'm making several copies."
 
"You look like a high-school student, it's really impressive for someone your age."
 
"Thank you, this is actually my first novel, so I don't have that much confidence."
 
"No, one must believe in one's self. … Would you mind me reading it ?" Saying that the brown-haired man pulled out a business card and gave it to Eric: "I have a small publishing house, you see."

Due to the pen incident, the invigilator paid extra attention to Qiao Nan and stood by Qiao Nan for a moment.
The invigilator saw that Qiao Nan had written so much in such a short period of time, his eyes lit up as he was taken aback. When he further read the contents, coupled with the elegant writing of the fountain pen, he was genuinely surprised. 
Before the bell rang, Qiao Nan had already finished with her essay.
When it was time to exit the exam hall, some of the students had not finished and were making a scene.
Qiao Nan walked out relaxedly and wanted to find Zhai Sheng to return the pen.
Qiao Nan had only taken a few steps when Teacher Lee came up and asked, "Qiao Nan, how do you think you fared in the competition?" 
Qiao Nan replied, "Similar to the usual."
"That's good," Teacher Lee said with a sigh of relief. If Qiao Nan was able to perform normally, she should at least be able to receive a third prize minimally.
"Qiao Nan, what are you doing here?" A voice rang out from behind Qiao Nan. 
"I came to participate in the provincial composition competition." Qiao Nan turned around to face Qiao Zijin.
"You, you also came to participate?" Qiao Zijin stammered, somewhat shocked. She had never heard that Qiao Nan was participating.
"Hi Zijin, it's you. You also came here to participate?" Teacher Lee asked. Teacher Lee was somewhat shocked, Teacher Lee knew the standard of Qiao Zijin's essay. How was Qiao Zijin able to participate? Wasn't the school afraid of wasting a nomination slot?
There were merit points for winning a junior high school essay competition, and of course the same for a high school competition. 
As such, the high school competition's nomination slots would be more keenly contested.
Qiao Zijin's words had coincided with Teacher Lee's. Qiao Nan smiled and replied, "I had heard from Father and Mother that you were participating but I did not expect us to be in the same school participating."
Qiao Zijin forced out a smile and said, "Such is fate. Nan Nan, how did you fare?"
"Not too bad," said Qiao Nan, who raised her eyebrows whilst noticing Qiao Zijin's increasing discomfort. She deduced in her mind that Qiao Zijin had not performed well in the competition, otherwise why was her face so pale?
"Alright, it is getting late, we should get going." Teacher Lee said whilst patting Qiao Nan's shoulder. Teacher Lee did not speak much to Qiao Zijin.
Qiao Nan followed Teacher Lee, nodded to Qiao Zijin and then simply left.
Once Qiao Nan had left, Qiao Zijin's face turned downcast and quickly went to find her classmates. Qiao Zijin asked, "I heard that for this competition, junior school students are also here, do you know what their essay question was?"
"I think it was the same as ours." The classmate replied before adding, "The teachers are too lazy, setting the same question for junior school and high school. They did not even make the effort to think up another question."
"Qiao Zijin, did you manage to finish your essay?" Qiao Zijin's Chinese teacher walked happily towards Qiao Zijin. The teacher added, "I read your previous essay, that would have been suitable and you need not think up a new essay. Did you use that essay for submission?"
Even the Chinese teacher was surprised by Qiao Zijin.
Qiao Zijin's normal performance was average but she did demonstrate a flair for writing when it came to essays.
Otherwise, how would Qiao Zijin be able to participate based on her academic results?
"It was submitted," Qiao Zijin replied dryly without a hint of happiness.
Only heaven knows that when Qiao Zijin saw the essay question, she was so happy that she wanted to let out a scream. The heavens were on her side!
She had not expected her luck to be so good. She had used Qiao Nan's essay for submission earlier and won the nomination slot for the competition. Even more unexpectedly, Qiao Nan's essay was also suitable for the exam question.
She could fully make use of one essay from Qiao Nan!
However, once Qiao Zijin saw Qiao Nan, the good mood dissipated.
Qiao Nan must be here to participate in the essay competition. Both junior school and high school questions were the same, surely Qiao Nan did not write the same essay?
Impossible, she should not have.
Qiao Nan had written this casually, surely she would not be able to regurgitate and she would write a new piece?
The more Qiao Zijin thought about it, the more guilty she felt. Her mind was hurting from all the thinking. She prayed silently that her essay and Qiao Nan's essay did not coincide.
Qiao Nan was very good at essay writing, she could easily write a new piece. Surely, she would not be so lazy to regurgitate an old piece?
After the competition, Qiao Zijin could finally go home. However, on the way home, Qiao Zijin's mind kept going through the various scenarios, it was very torturous.
"Zijin, you are back. How was the competition? Are you confident?" Ding Jiayi asked excitedly, warmly welcoming Qiao Zijin home.
"Mom, where is Nan Nan?" asked Qiao Zijin.
"She is reading in her room," replied Ding Jiayi.
"Mom, I have to find Nan Nan first. Talk to you later," Qiao Zijin replied. Once Qiao Zijin heard that Qiao Nan was back, she threw her schoolbag to Ding Jiayi and went to Qiao Nan's room. Qiao Zijin said, "Nan Nan, I have something to talk to you about."
"Go ahead," Qiao Nan said. She threw away the three broken pens into the dustbin.
When Qiao Nan came back and inspected the pens, she found that the pens had signs of being thrown which led to them being broken.
Anyone who uses ballpoint pens knows that once you smash the pens onto the floor, the pens will be broken easily and you cannot write with them anymore. The pens were obviously smashed onto the floor by somebody.
Qiao Nan's schoolbag was on the school bus all this while, the person who did it was surely not from another school and the teacher would not do it either. Could it have been one of the other four people who joined her in the competition today?
Such bad behavior at such a young age.
"Nan Nan, what was your essay question today?" Qiao Zijin asked. If the question was different, then there was nothing for her to worry about.
"Teacher Lee told me that the question for junior school and high school is the same" Qiao Nan replied pointedly.
It was really the same… 
Qiao Zijin's face froze. "Nan Nan, what did you write for the competition then?"


Qiao Nan: Crap! I am your biological daughter, yet I am treated as if I was picked up from the streets. In fact, you treat me worse than that!

Mother Qiao: Qiao Nan, you are not as pretty or smart as your elder sister. You are not as blessed as her. You have no right to study, marry, or to have your happiness!

Qiao Nan: Why am I not allowed to study, marry, or to seek my happiness? I will find a man right now and marry him!

Qiao Nan is dumbstruck upon discovering that the man right beside her is a powerful figure in the quad—the person who has the most promising prospects to be the future Chief.

Qiao Nan stares at the well-built man in front of her. He has firm abs and cold, chilling eyes. She swallows the lump in her throat as she says her greetings, "Good Morning, Chief!"
