Emica entered a small writing school that was near a river. Her friend had joined her. But, the teacher had an odd vibe around him. Emica became a little scared of him. She especially became scared when the teacher started to pay more attention to her. One day, when she runs from him, she falls into a world of adventure, risk, and abnormalities. 
But, her teacher is what scares her more than this new world. What secrets and schemes did he use to get her here?

This journey involves my answering of 365 creative writing prompts in a desperate bid to overcome my laziness.

THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW: I've gotten over the majority of my laziness. I'm unlikely to update this much. It's pretty much complete. The novel I'm working on is Dark Seas Leading Demise

It was the same every year. Artie would make calls and try to find out what everyone's plan was for the holiday season. With everyone spread out across the nation, the only tradition old Artie was seeing every year was excuses. It hadn't always been this way. There used to be a time when all the kids and grand kids would trip over each other to spend the holidays at his big house. Those were the good old days when his wife was still around. Before her passing, she would often joke that everyone was really there to see her and not him. Turns out her jokes were quite accurate because when his lovely wife of fifty years succumbed to cancer, everyone stopped showing up for Christmas. Artie just assumed the first year was too tough because the first holiday was less than a few months after her passing and it might have been too soon. He let it slide and thought nothing of it. But now it had been seven years and not a single kid or grand kid had sat down at the massive table in his dining room to break bread with him on his savior's birthday.

     It wasn't like some of his kids didn't have good excuses. David was a surgeon and he spent his holidays working in free clinics to help those who couldn't afford health insurance. While it was admirable from a distance, deep down Artie knew that was a shield to protect David from criticism, something he did often to deflect negative things being said about him. Sorry I missed that play I never wanted to see, but I was too busy saving lives. It was like playing chess with a grand master. Even though you knew what game was being played you still had no chance of winning.

     There were the kids who had no excuses. Kim was a stay at home mom with four rug rats that Artie wanted to spoil endlessly. Yet instead of taking him up on offers of free babysitting and weekend to spend with her husband, he was rejected every time he reached out to spend time when them.

     Next was Richard, who was larger than life. Living what was his childhood dream, Richard was a professional baseball player. Making millions to play a game most people would do for free, he was also able to fly anywhere at a moment's notice but still had no time for his old man. Whenever they would talk on the phone, they would talk about all things baseball and nothing else. It was the one bridge they had left but Artie was sad that he wasn't closer to Richard beyond that. He couldn't be prouder of his son, but lately he had been living up to his name and was a real dick to his old man.

     Then there was Malcolm. Professor at an esteemed university and all round know it all. Malcolm never came for Christmas dinner because Artie never invited him. They were like oil and vinegar and fought every time they shared the same air. His youngest child also knew exactly how to push his buttons as if it were a secret talent that only he possessed. His wife would laugh at how good they were at setting each other off; it was like watching synchronized swimming she often said. He missed her more than ever, especially now that he had spent every holiday alone since her passing.

     This wasn't the way Artie wanted to spend his last years, alone every Christmas and only cooking for one. The previous year, Artie decided to do something different and didn't even invite any his kids over. He gave everyone the same treatment that was usually reserved for Malcolm and nothing changed and he got the same cards and postcards in the mail and nothing more. His attempt at reverse psychology was a complete and utter failure, epic as his grand kids would tell him.

     As the next holiday season approached, Artie had finally decided that he wasn't going to take it anymore. This year he was prepared to fight them tooth and nail to get what he wanted. Artie paused for a moment and thought about what that meant. What kind of dinner would he have if all of them had to be dragged in there kicking and screaming against their will? Artie knew that he would have to be more creative if he was going to have the happy holiday he missed so much. He had considered writing them all out of his will if they didn't show up this year. That was an empty threat because he didn't have that much left over and two out of four kids were millionaires. It was going to take some real trickery to get them all at the table this year but he was determined to make it happen.

     Even if it was the last thing he ever did...

All Artie Jackson wanted was the whole family to be home for Christmas. Be careful what you wish for...

Once Sylvic is done writing the letter, he motions with his hand to follow and I follow suite. We leave the room and go past the rows of beds to the front lobby. This room has a desk with the nurse that cried on my shoulder hours ago behind it. She has recollected herself and is writing on a clipboard. There is a sign in sheet on the desk. I look around at the room, there are some wood chairs, a few windows, and a sign that says, "Please wait to be called for."
  Sylvic said, "I'm heading home for the day." 
The nurse replied, "Ok, have a good day Mr. Johnson and..." she looks at me, so I just wave. "Mr. Johnson, do you plan on taking him with you?" She points at me. 
   "Yes, is there an issue with that?" He responds, sounding confused. The nurse, sounding slightly less confused, responds, "Did you forget you need to sign him out?" Sylvic looks dumbstruck, and I try to contain a snicker. "My bad Jasmine, I totally forgot."
   'So Jasmine is the nurses name, interesting. I will keep that in mind if I ever talk to her again.'
  He walks over and signs me out, I glance to look and they had me written in as purple haired kid, 'How creative. I guess they had to put something in though while I was unconscious. Speaking of....'
  I look at Sylvic, "So how long was I unconscious for?" He looks at me and scratches his head, "Two days if I'm right...." "TWO DAYS?!?" 'Why was I unconscious for two days! The lord knows how long I was unconscious before then! I could have been killed, system doesn't know crap about sending people to this world.'
  All of a sudden I hear, "You coming Kurayami?" I snap out my thoughts. "Coming!" And I run towards the door. As I leave I'm greeted by what I assume to be the Middle Ages, there are log houses one story tall lined up in a row with smoke coming from each chimney, and there is snow.  Snow is slowly falling from the sky, without a care in the world just to land on another till they land on a mound. I look around just to see plains upon plains of snow. I stick my tongue out to catch a snowflake just for it to be blown away from my breath. It looks like a scene from a fairytale. I see a few elves, orcs,dwarves, beast men, and people walking the sidewalks of the streets.
  The world was like a something from my dreams. "Woooooooooow!" Sylvic smiled, seeing his new kid in awe. He grabs my hand, we turn left and we start walking down the sidewalk. The streets are quiet except for the steps others make in the snow. 
   We eventually make it to a two story building made of stone. Lights dance in the windows figures moving in the building. We walk up the steps and he takes a set of keys out from his pocket. He puts them in and turns them till a click sounds from the lock.
  We enter and as he closes the door behind him, I hear a click, I turn around and see a small circle on the lock. My eyes go wide as I realize something, it automatically locked when the door closed! I turn around to see a hallway at the end I see what I assume to be the kitchen and dining room, to my left, I see a room with wool furniture surrounding a small coffee table. The walls have wallpaper of green and yellow stripes. Then I realize something. As a healer, he must be pretty well off and this scene confirms it. 
  From the presumed to be kitchen, I hear a voice come from that sounds mature yet feminine and kind. "Honey? You finally home?" I look at Sylvic and he responds swift and kind voice but one that demands urgency. "Yeah, I am here, and I need to talk to you about something." When he finishes his sentence, a female elf sticks her head out from the kitchen. She has smooth and delicate features, blond hair, and bright blue eyes. 
  She looks at her husband and then looks at me and she then rush's from the kitchen wearing a kitchen apron. She is wearing a yellow sweater, black cloth pants, and blue shoes. She then looks at her husband curiously. 
   "Who is this young boy?" He answers with a stern tone that shows his will won't be moved. "This is Kurayami, the newest member of our family." I just wave shyly. His wife is around 5'5 ft tall and looks average in weight, similarly built to her husband but less muscle, more curves, and lighter skin.
  She gives him a look, as if to say, we will discuss this later. Sylvic points to the couch and asks kindly, "Could you please sit on the couch and wait while I call the other kids down?" I nod, understanding that he is in the dog house now, making the call to adopt me on the spot.
   'He seems to make decisions on the spot without thinking of the consequences. I'm glad he chose to take me in but he didn't think of what the backlash that might incur. Definitely spontaneous.'
  I'm brought back from my thoughts when I hear Sylvic yell, "Kids, come down, there is someone you need to meet!" I hear doors open and multiple feet coming down the steps.

After an unknown amount of time, a soul got to reincarnate into a fantasy realm with it’s own choice of abilities and looks. Watch as he goes through a life as powerful as can be in this world. This is a hobby and not professional work so please bare with me while I try my best to make this book a good one.

A fiber of connection from miles away...



Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

As they recounted their story they began wailing even more violently.


Nick sighed, he could see how much they suffered, even a grownup would have broken from all the stress and violent beatings, but these kids somehow managed to retain the love they carried for each other.


Seeing the two kids crying nonstop Nick could only console them, "Hey it's alright now, Big bro Nick is here!! Look at me, look at my muscles, look at my handsome face, nobody will bother you anymore, okay?"


Nick, did different kinds of poses bringing a smile to the kids' faces, "So does this mean big bro won't leave us?"


Nick frowned hearing their request, it would be troublesome to carry around two kids wherever he went, especially considering how he was now a cultivator who could get into a fight at any moment.


But then he looked at the kids' faces and all he could see was the dire hope that they could finally have someone to rely on, someone to shield them from the pains of this world like their father once did.


Sighing heavily and taking a deep breath Nick became resolute, "Big bro will never leave you alright, so you don't have to worry, but you have to listen to me no matter what I say because this world is extremely dangerous but I don't need to tell you that, so when I tell you to do something you do it without question understand?"


"Yes we understan.....waaaaaa" The little sibling could barely finish their sentence as they ran to hug Nick and started bawling violently, but these weren't tears of sadness like they were before, no, these were tears of joy.


It took them nearly half an hour to stop crying and by the end, both their eyes were violent red, but even then they didn't let go of Nick as if afraid that he would go back on his word and run away.


Nick could only accept that he would have to get used to being hugged by two kids while walking around, whatever it can be considered be weight training anyway.


As they walked out of the alley Nick asked them their names.


"I am Maggy and this is my little brother Dean."


"We're twins how can you be older!!"


"I am definitely older, I remember as soon as I was born I was thinking, 'I wish I had a little brother' then pop you came."


"You are utterly shameless! How can someone remember what happened as soon as they were born?"

"That's because girls have a better memory than boys!"


"No, they don't!"

"Yes, they do! If you don't believe me we can ask big brother! Aren't I right big brother?"

Nick was stumped, did she really expect him to support her claim that his memory was inferior to a girl's...

After they finished arguing they both looked up to him waiting for an answer.

"Well well well, if it isn't the thieving siblings, have you got our weekly payment ready?" A sudden voice sounded out behind Nick and the kids. But seeing the horror in the sibling's eyes when they heard that voice he could easily tell it must be the gangsters that forced the kids into child labor.

Nick slowly turned his head and found a group of people ten to twenty, glaring fiercely at the kids, but he was expressionless, he wasn't angry, scared, or disappointed, there was just a terrifying calm. 

He wouldn't be a hypocrite and pretend he stood for the weak, he was the type of person that did things on a whim, he would help those he wanted and found enjoyable, and ignore those that he didn't.

Since he had promised to take care of the kids he will now take them from this place regardless of who tried to stop him.

"I believe your grudge was with their father, and as far as I know, you have already taken his life which means these kids owe you nothing, I have now adopted these two, so back of and go back to wherever you came from!"

Nick didn't take this gang seriously, so what if they had more people only he knew how terrifying the amount of power coursing through his body was.

"What did you say boy?!!!" the voice seemed to be coming from behind the gang as they parted to reveal the speaker.

As soon as the person showed himself Nick immediately lost his cool, he started coughing violently and looked to be desperately trying to get some words out of his mouth.

"....you...cough...look like..cough..cough a blobfish...cough cough"

Every person on the street grew quiet and looked terrified, they had gotten used to this gang beating up people in broad daylight so they weren't really surprised about the confrontation, but no one had dared to insult the gang leader before.

Who couldn't see the resemblance, the nose whose tip touched his lips, the eyes that didn't have eyebrows, and lastly the wrinkly fatty skin hanging on every side as if to protect the owner shy neck, but no one has ever dared to say it before.

Nick stood there surprised, if insulting a gang leader could get him ten domineering points, what would threatening one get him?

"Boy, do you want to die?!!!! What part of me looks like a blobfish, you're the blobfish, your entire family is a blobfish!! I was tormented by my good looks ever since I was a child, my mother always said I was a work of art!!!"

"Yeah, maybe abstract art...fuck, was your mother blind or a professional liar and you dare to curse back at me, lets just insult each other then!!"

Nick was never afraid of anyone if it was a verbal battle, after all, he was surrounded with thugs growing up, back then, fuck you was a good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!

"You started it!!!" the Blobfish said.


"Shut up....I...I...Slept with your mother!!"The blobfish said, but then he regretted it, what if he crossed the line and the boy killed himself in depression...how would he torture him then?

"Wow, that must have exhausted your entire vocabulary! Who knew you were ugly and Stupid?!!"

"Didn't you hear me...I slept with your mother!!" The blobfish was furious, why didn't he know other insults, as a reputable gang leader he must definitely expand his arsenal of vocabularies when he gets back.

"No way my mom would never sleep with a fish. But my dad...?"

Nick was having so much fun throwing insults around and if anyone asked him one of his favorite pass times in his last life it was defiantly googling creative insults and comebacks.

Feeling pleased with himself he looked back to check on the kids when he saw Maggy seriously writing his words down in rapt attention while Dean was just standing there in awe. Sigh is this what it means to give to the next generation? 

"Ahh, I will fight you to death!!! Chaaaarge!!!" The Blobfish was enraged, when had he been insulted this way. 


Nick didn't even look at the Blobfish as he was too busy watching his newly acquired 20 domineering points being taken to repay his debt. 

Dejected, he looked up and realized that the Blobgang were running over, he became even more depressed upon finding out the insult contest was over, but he still decided to get one last insult in before they fought.

"Sigh I would love to keep insulting you but I'm afraid I won't do as good a job as nature did, lets fight then!"

As soon as Nick finished his words his pupil tuned golden and released the dragon eyes suppressive effect.

The Blob gang just felt like an imaginary dragon was pressing them into submission.

Nick was surprised to find that his technique was made to act domineeringly, with his golden eyes he had made every Blob gang member kneel.

And in just a few seconds he had earned fifty domineering points. Now all he needed to do was keep it up.

"From now on your gang will be no more!!!"

Huh? It seemed it wasn't domineering when he just kept talking, immediately he took out a low-level spirit sword from his duffle bag and killed a person.

"Your all next!!!"

And he kept killing and yelling until he couldn't get any more points, after that he outright killed the others.

He wasn't even the least bit conscious when he killed them, cause they weren't good people and neither was he.

"Wow, did you see that, he must be an immortal, to protect two kids he slaughtered an entire gang!!"

'Yeah, so cool, so overbearing so...so domineering!!!"

Hearing their praise Nick waved his hands humbly as he crouched down and started collecting the spoils of his kill driving the whole crowd speechless, brother are you an immortal or a robber? 

After Nick finished he walked away in a suave manner, but it really was uncomfortable to walk while being hugged on both sides by the clingy siblings.

Nick's first life as a country renowned lawyer is ended by a group of thugs.

Waking up, he finds out that he was given a second chance in life.

With an overbearing system that exists to make him The Emperor.

"Hey system can you please be a little less domineering?"

Max lived in the modern era in planet earth. He was born during 1990 and lived a normal life. Growing up he didn't have many friends due to his anti-social personality and looking at kids around his age as snotty brats, which his opinion of didn't change even growing up. 
Max wasn't gifted in memorizing, but he was creative. The only thing that sets him apart from normal person is his creativity, which far exceeds people around his age. This is the reason he sees people around his age as immature kids, because as he is learning to make a home-made solar panel, kids around him were building sandcastle. This is the reason he is outcasted, by his choice from other.
As growing up he wasn't really much interested in anything except few projects he invested in and destroyed afterwards. Max wasn't searching for recognition he would receive for his project due to his creative idea in using few simple things to make new thing or modify already existing things for greater output. After done with his project, he would destroy it as it fulfilled his inner wish to use his creativity to fulfill his curious nature.
Although Max wasn't naturally gifted in terms of memorization, but his knowledge was outstanding due to his nature. If he does dive into a project it would require him t learn all the properties about the material he is using, so due to his few project Max has learned most thing and can even achieve bachelor's degree for chemistry and physics at the age of 15, and receive doctorate degree on those subject by the age of 20. 
One of the few things he enjoyed in life was Anime or novel. The reason being he can enjoy the creative idea of author that they devoted into their imagination world and enjoyed thinking what he would do to if he was in those settings. He was almost a NEET, but after graduating from college with the bachelor's in human psychology, he worked for a advertising agency form home. Due to his creative ideas his ad was widely successful, he started from toothbrush ad to presidential ads in just 2 years. Of course, after that he didn't have to worry too much of money after that, and all the money generated from his work went to fulfilling his curiosity with his idea and some even to sending money to his favorite authors to write their story faster due to their very interesting story and concept. 
Although he did have romantic relation early in his life, he didn't continue them as he felt his partner were not satisfying him, not in sexually, but intelligently, so he couldn't fully commit to the relationship, which caused him to leave it, and full fill his sexual needs in red district. He continued his outside personality of a successful ad creator who was well known in politic circle due to the effect as he could sway people just from his campaign but was also known as secretive person due to his reluctance on being on parties and ball etc. and mostly keeping things to his own. He continued his obliged relation of being a somewhat successful person to his few friends from college, and family relation. He of course didn't let them know how widely successful he was in political and business sectors. Lastly, he continued his many project secretively and completed most of them, he also expanded his interest in biological sector in science, and did a few projects related to them.
At age of 45 he was assassinated in his sleep with a neuron poison from the political opponent for which was going against his client for his campaign ad. He got so famous making all his client winning in last decade, and got known that if he campaigned for you then you are guaranteed to win no matter how bad you are, as such he got assassinated by the political opponent from the fear of losing his congress seat held for almost 30 years by a new comer in political world. At left the world he didn't having many personal relations as his parent had passed way five years back, and thus slowly lost contact with his other blood relation member. His reputation was known throughout the world politics for his guaranteed success. He had no significant other that cared for him in the world as he stopped caring for it almost 2 decade back. He created and destroyed many of his personal project which would have caused a huge splash in the world of science for good or bad. He continued to enjoy new and different anime and novels throughout his life. Lastly, he died peacefully in his sleep due to fast acting nerve poison and left the world.

A guys get transported into One piece world with few wishes. Lets see how he changes the world.

I woke, shaking. It's the same dream over and over again. I can't figure it out. I told mom and dad about it but they think it's just the sign of an overactive imagination.

I sigh as I slide out of bed and my feet hit the cold wooden floor. I walk into the soft carpeted hall and heave a sigh of relief. I turn into the bathroom with cloudy eyes and a determination to wake up. Washing my face, I look up at the mirror. "Ugh... I look washed out." I huff as I reach for my washcloth. I hear noises coming from the kitchen and the smell of coffee spills in around me. I hop into the hall once more, a bit more chipper this time and glance around the corner to see Mom nursing a mug by the counter.

"Good Morning!" I say as she looks up from her phone.

"Yes, Good morning. Now hurry up and get changed." She replies with a tap on her wrist watch and a chastening look in my direction. I slip back into my room with a roll of my eyes. Ripping my phone from it's charging cord, I turn on my pick-me-up tunes on YouTube Music and drag my sorry butt to my closet. I jump into a pair of jeans and pull my stripped T over my head as I sing along to Sing Street's "Drive it live you stole it".

"Jadealyn Kay Mckenna, Do you WANT to be late?" My mom asks from my doorway, making me jump out of my skin. She smiles and shakes her head laughingly. I laugh with her and smile, easily forgetting my dream from earlier.

"No." I say as I grab my phone and book-bag. I follow her out of my room and back into the warm kitchen with it's familiar canary walls. She grabs her black thermos as I go to make some toast. My Dad emerges from their room, pulling his tie up to his collar. He smiles as he sees us bustling about and kisses mom on her cheek as she swingings her purse over her shoulder. I quickly butter my toast and run to the door, tailing mom as Dad moves to make himself a cup of coffee. "Bye, Dad!"

"See you later, sweetie!" He yells as I slam the door. Mom's phone rings and she answers quickly, putting her thermos on top of the car. I get to my door as she turns on her bluetooth headset ands grabs her keys, unlocking the car. I throw my stuff in the back haphazardly as she grabs her thermos and slides neatly into the driver's seat. I plop down next to her and notice that she's talking to her boss which means she won't be talking to me any time soon. I let off a puff of air and stare out the window as we drive. Evergreens pass in a cascade of lush foliage as we make our way to my school.

As Mom continues to ramble on about sales and other things, my mind begins to wander. I calm at the warm caress of the light of the dawn and watch as the clouds change hues. Suddenly, I look up and to my surprise I see something... is it a man? A bird? He has wings.

I turn to my mom but pout when I see that she is still on call with her boss. I look back, hoping to catch another glimpse of him but it's just a flock of birds. I really must be losing my mind. Lovely...

Mom pulled up by the sidewalk and I hurriedly grabbed my stuff, waving bye. I run across the gigantic band parking lot and right into someone I hadn't seen loitering about. Falling over and onto my butt, I blush profusely at my clumsiness.

"Hey. You okay?" He asks, offering me a hand and a smile.

"Oh.. Yeah. I mean.. as long as no one else gets to know I was this clumsy." I say, stumbling over my words and letting him help me up.

"Well, it's a good thing I'm new here then. I don't know enough people to tell." He laughs, sliding a hand through his dark brown hair and casually leaning against the car behind him.

"Oh? Well, welcome then. We should probably be going inside now, the bell is about to ring." I say, turning to continue my sprint to the double doors leading to the athletics hall.

"Hey! I didn't catch your name!" He yells after me.

"It's Jade!"

....

Health class is always a bore. The teacher I got has already expressed her hatred for children... oh why didn't I get this credit done freshman year like everyone else? The lights are dim and the room itself is like a cave. On top of it all, we work from the book in silence. Anyone say prison?

Yeah... I will be glad for this semester to finally be up.

"Hey! Jade!" Yolanda whisper yells, tossing me a note. Dang it, guys... you know this teacher is strict as heck... ' Did you see that new hunk today?' Oh my gosh. Yo-Yo yeah I crash landed into him, why???? But I would never tell her that. Jake pokes me from behind and shrugs at me as if he would like to know what her new gossip queen news is. I quickly write on it and hand it back, hoping she won't continue this nonsense.

She puts the note away and the "rescue" bell rings as she's about to go back to her work. Everyone heaves an audible sigh of relief as we bolt into the hallway.

I jump as I feel someone poking my sides. "Hey, what was that all about?" Jake asks as he starts to match stride with me.

"Okay, A, I have told you not to poke me, remember?" I say slightly pushing him into oncoming traffic. "And Yo-Yo? She's just looking for some gossip on the new guy."

"Oh? So, he decided to finally come after all?" Jake laughs and I stop.

"Wait. You KNOW the new guy?" I ask as I resume stride, ignoring the glares that followed my dramatic pause.

"Oh, Yeah. We go way back. I guess it also helps that our brothers are best friends. His name is Zayne, by the way. Not 'new guy'." Jake smiles as he races off in the direction of his class. I spot my friend Meg slipping through the tide of students like a snake in the grass. If she's not careful I think one of the poor fishies will mistake her for a ghost. At this thought, I laugh and make my way into our creative writing classroom. Walking into the sun-filled room that smelled of old books, I smile. Mr.Tennyson welcomed in one student after another as I sat down next to Meg. She's already writing furiously about whatever topic our teacher has thrown at us to play with today.

As I am taking out my notebook and pencil, Zayne walks through the door. I falter for a moment as he smiles and sits behind me to talk to some of the guys sitting behind Meg. I put my head in my hands, staring at my notebook. "Oh my Gosh!" I mouth to myself. I can't linger on this, though. Maybe he didn't notice me? As I am thinking this, I feel someone poke my arm with the eraser of their pencil. I look up to see a worried expression on Meg's face.

"Are you okay?" Meg mouths. I nod and open my notebook. Setting my pencil to the paper I write the date at the top right corner and glance up at the board. Today's assignment is to write about the picture on the board.

Everyone is silent and writing as the bell rings and Mr.Tennyson goes to sit at his desk while we finish our warm-up. The picture lends itself to multiple genres as it is of a forest. I let my brain dance around the various roads I could take before I start. Soon enough it's spilling out of me like water fountaining into another river.

I finish as Mr.Tennyson stands. "Okay guys. who still needs a bit more time?" He waits for a beat for any response and moves on. "Okay. everyone pair off into groups of four to share your work."

I immediately look to Meg and we pair off. But we need two more people in our group and that's when I hear my name.

"Hey, Jade. Can Ryan and I join your group?" Zayne asked, pulling his desk up next to mine as though I had already said yes. Although, looking around... I might as well. Everyone is already paired off.

"Okay. Well, who's going to start us off then?" I say, putting my pencil away and taking out a red pen to write down any of their criticisms with.

"I guess I will." Ryan offers and we listen to his story about an old circus manager building a carnival near the woods of his old home. It was sweet and quite detailed for a short story. I never knew that Ryan wrote like that. I share this with him during our criticism and he smiles. After jotting our notes down, He puts his notebook away and we move on to Meggan's.

Her's was a thrilling tale of runaway lovers. Fighting against the world they once knew, a vampire and an assassin. I found it just a bit tacky but it's not anytime soon that I'd tell her that. My personal tastes aside, it is very good.

Zayne spoke up after we had finished our criticism of Meg's work. "Okay, my turn. ..

Soft rain fell in silence as they drove up the mountain. It was cold and she was sleeping just a few inches away, curled up in a blanket. He didn't want to admit that this would be the last time they traversed this way, though. Keeping the silence, they pulled up to the cabin.

"Wake up. Kayle. It's time to go." he says, shaking her shoulder. She rose, rubbing at her eyes and got out of the truck.

"I'm so glad that we get to come out here." Kayle said, stretching her arms out wide. She smiles but he inadvertently sighs and she gives him a puzzled expression. Not answering, he grabs their bags goes inside. He plops down on the sofa, his head in his hands. "Okay... Daniel, what's wrong?" shes asks, sitting beside him.

"Kayle." He starts.

"Is it because we can no longer rent this place?" She asks. He looks up to see her smiling still.

"How long have you known?" He asks, thinking that she's known long enough to find peace with it. After years of being together, he wouldn't doubt it. But this was their place. This is where they first met as kids at their parents' friend's party. They had kept coming here time and time again after that for vacations and get-togethers. This was were he had planned to have their wedding one day. Since they were kids, he knew that this had to be the place for them.

She laughed. She had the audacity to laugh in such a situation as this. But, suddenly, her hand was rummaging through her bag. "My crazy Dad thought it would be a nice wedding gift. I found it was him the moment I called the 'New Owner' to see if we could keep coming here. So, Dada told me to just go ahead and surprise you with it instead of waiting for the wedding." 

Overcome with elation, He hugged her tightly. "I'm so glad. I'm sorry I let myself become so stressed over it." 

"It's fine. I know we can conquer anything, together." She said with a bright smile, reminding me why I chose her to begin with.  "

I was amazed that he would write something so sweet. Although still having doubts in regards to his possible plagiarizing. We took our time critiquing him and soon it fell upon me to tell mine.

"Darkness pounding at the edges of my vision, I gasp for breath. Caught between consciousness and dreams, I try to find my way through. Feathers. Black, white and Grey are floating down from the heavens. All is fire. All is lost. As I'm running for the woods, something strikes my back and I'm flown through the air only to hit a large tree. I see red. I hear a soothing voice as it carries me to safety but only for me to plunge headfirst into complete darkness. "

Mine was shorter, only part of the dream I had had the prior night. But, when I receive some odd glances from both meggan and Zayne, I begin to wonder what I said wrong.

Jadealyn has felt like a stranger in her own life but didn't realize why until she got transferred to a new school a year ago. Then, everything changes with the appearance of a new friend who shows her the truth.

                Right in front of my shocked face, SeongMin greets me with a calm welcome.
                "I thought it would take you a while to find the room. Your luggage is inside this dresser. This will be your side. This is my side."
My eyes involuntarily scan my roommate's almost naked body without any hesitation. The universe must be on my side because, as I drool over his muscular body, he is focusing on his talks more than what I am doing at the moment.
"After dinner at the cafeteria, we will have to talk about who showers first, who cleans, and who does the laundry. Tell me when something is not clear." He stops talking, and my eye scan stops at his bulky chest.
He does not seem bothered of my actions. He just walks normally past me and puts in some clothes. His scent makes me notice how stinky I am. My eyes follow towards SeongMin's direction that he has to stop getting ready to signal his awkwardness to me. He pierces me with his fierce stare.
"Uhmm.. yeah, I am taking a shower. Thank you for showing me your bod—" I cut myself before proceeding embarrassing myself.
"I mean… thank you for assisting me." I correct myself the fastest possible I could.
He is still staring at me, and I guess he is waiting for me to add more to what I have said.
"and… may I know what time we have to talk?"
He goes back to putting on his clothes. "7 pm." Then he walks out of the room to have his dinner.
 
It took me around 30 minutes to take a shower. I had difficulty manning the heater. So, the water was either too hot or too cold, and it made it difficult for me to wash properly. What I did then was to gather both kinds of water into the bucket and modulate the temperature according to my threshold. Now, I only have half an hour to get dinner.
The cafeteria is half filled already. The food is, of course, a Korean cuisine but it does not bother me at all because I love Korean food and I eat a lot back home. I carry my plate towards one of the empty tables near the window. I am overwhelmed by my hunger, that is why my focus is all on the food I am about to eat now.
"Hello! Can I sit with you?" A voice behind me is asking me for permission to be a company.
He is a tall, toned, fair-skinned man. His smile is the purest I have seen for today, and the only answer I can give is…
"Sure. The table is wide enough for the two of us."
"Thanks!" I though he is going to at the same table on some of the vacant chairs. However, he rushes to the seat in front of me and his excitement cannot be concealed at all. I wonder why he is so kicked up to be with a new face like me.
"I am Minjun but you can call me Michael. I am a Junior architecture student. How about you?" He does not wait for me to answer. He immediately feeds himself with a spoonful of rice and slur his bowl of soup while looking at me.
I feel obliged to answer back with honesty so I do.
"My name is Marcus, and I am a Filipino. Creative Writing major. Freshman. I am 19."
"Ow my gosh! Your accent is so cool." He is so hyped up and his energy is giving me good vibes. He lavishes his smile for me, and my attraction towards him is growing.
"I think you are that foreign guy I have been waiting for for three years. Seriously, you are the cutest of all the kids here who are eating now. even though I felt so shy, I still forced myself to introduce myself to you. I didn't wanna waste the opportunity." He smiles again, and the pureness of that smiles makes me believe he does not feel any malice on whatever he has just said.
"Uhmm.. you think I'm cute?" I ask.
"Sure. Look at your pajama. It is the furriest outfit in this room, and you look so squishy on them. You look like my little sister." Again, there is nothing fishy that lingers in his speech.
The redness on my face is becoming more visible every time he flirts with me (as how I think it is). I am not this fragile, but the more he talks and gestures, the closer I get to falling for him. As he is laughing, he extends his left hand towards my head and taps it gently. My eyes cannot believe the close view I have of him now. His smile is seriously magnetic! He is the most handsome guy I can imagine now, and I do not want this time to end.
Then my alarm rings.
"Damn! It's 7:30! I'm late." I rush to clean up my plates and out them on the sink. I tell Michael thank you for the time and his perplexed look will forever be in my mind for now.
 
"I am so—"
"You're late. So you will have to follow what have planned for the both of us. Of course, expect it to be in favor of me." SeongMin does not seem upset because his sitting face is the same all the time. It is making it difficult to read him.
"I am going to the library to study. Get your things. I will be waiting for you outside. You have 5 minutes." Before I could even answer, SeongMin moves out of the room without even hearing my agreement or disagreement.
Left with no choice, I grab my bag and rush outside. I halt in front of SeongMin who is looking greatly manly right now. He stands straight facing me.
"I like your pajama. Its' cute" He says. But I had no time to get changed anymore.

In that land he barely knew, he convinced himself to dare to play the most dangerous game. It is either he falls or he fails. Love just cant be won over.

Staying with Eva certainly wasn't boring. On the first night they were at her house she insisted they were going to burn through as many Disney movies as possible so Hazel would know who all they bothered standing in line to take pictures with. 
She hadn't realized her lack of knowledge had been so apparent. But Eva wasn't unkind about it. It seemed more like she wanted to share something fun that she liked than she thought Hazel was crazy for not knowing before. 
Most of the movies were pretty cute. Exactly the sort of things kids tended to eat up. 
Hazel had enjoyed it too once upon a time. Her parents used to put those types of movies on for her and sometimes even take her to see them in theaters. 
She used to wish they would play movies while she was in the mental hospital. But after meeting Will and hearing all of the amazing things there were to know about the real world, the fictional one hadn't appealed to her as much anymore. 
Besides, once she got out her uncle wasn't the type to allow children's movies in his house. He didn't like the slightest bit of noise indicating she existed most of the time. That was the only reason he supplied her with minimal art supplies. 
Drawing was always an effective way to shut her up. As she went back to school and was able to check out books from its library she tried to draw the things she read about. There were even some guides on how to draw that helped her a lot as she tried to improve. 
Hazel spent the remainder of her elementary school days and most of middle school as well refining her technique. She was so absorbed by all there was to learn that she had no interest in friends so it wasn't like anybody other than her uncle would have taken her to the movies either. 
When they weren't watching movies, Eva wanted to hear more about Hazel's life. There really wasn't much to tell leaving out her juicy past. She was a pretty boring person. 
Talking about her art was a fairly safe topic. She mentioned that she had been interested in it basically her whole life so it was the obvious career choice even though people advised her against it. 
Everything had worked out in the end. She landed this comic job, which looked great on her resume. And after that she ended up married to someone who was willing and able to buy her all the art supplies she could ever want. Will had kept his promise quite well even if it was later than she had hoped. 
Getting here had been a rough road though. Her uncle didn't support her dreams and refused to pay for her to go to art school. He had barely acknowledged her when she got a scholarship by buying her a school sweatshirt. 
All of her high school teachers (except the art teacher) were against it too. They thought she was wasting her brains on a field that wouldn't pay well or offer a consistent job unless she decided to be a graphic designer. 
Hazel didn't want to spend her entire life creating lifeless things for other people. She refused to go down that road, even if it meant picking up a bunch of odd jobs to get by. 
Graphic designers didn't have any sort of creative freedom whatsoever in her mind. She needed to be unrestrained and free in her art or she felt choked. Even working with a finicky author like Eva was far superior to making logos all day. 
The nice thing was that Eva understood how she felt about taking the easy road. She could have gone to grad school to become a social worker like every other psychology major she knew because it was the 'smart choice' with that degree. Social workers, like graphic designers, were in high demand. 
But she was one to take the road less traveled by. If she went back to grad school it would be to specialize in the very specific field she wanted and nothing less. 
She had told Hazel how she ended up where she was now, in what her mother called 'a career dead end.' Yes, she was working two jobs and didn't have the most glamorous lifestyle but she made enough to do fun things every so often like their trip in Florida. 
The point was that she was doing what she wanted and didn't feel a rush to change that. Hazel could respect that. 
What she was less fond of was that Eva's interest in true crime and serial killers was because she was genuinely intrigued by criminology. Her eventual goal was to work for the FBI as a profiler. 
Wanting to catch people like her parents' killer wasn't the part she was upset by. It was how she consumed countless amounts of media about serial killers and other famous criminals and helped perpetuate sales and popularity for those things. 
It was people like her who kept the market for such grotesque things open. Those she truly despised—the people who capitalized on other people's pain by writing books picking apart the sick minds of killers—made money off of people like Eva. It was why they kept doing it. 
She had seen the book on the Bay Area Blade that had largely inspired his inclusion in that docuseries in a stack on the coffee table. It had taken all of her willpower to keep her mouth shut about it.
The series had already started airing and Hazel desperately hoped Eva wouldn't want to watch it while she was stuck here. She wasn't sure she would calmly be able to explain why she couldn't bear to watch that crap. 
Three days passed and there was no sign of the snow letting up back home so she would have to stay here a while longer. That show aired on Sundays and it was Thursday now. More than anything she wanted the airport to be cleared for travel before then.

“I’ll marry anyone who will take me!” Hazel declared loudly. “I don’t need love!”

“Get down!” Will hissed. “You don’t know what kind of people are lurking around in here! Talking like that might get you killed!”
