Early in the morning Pepper pots had just woken from great sex unfortunately she had a corporation to run so off she went picking her clothes off the floor and heading to the bathroom to wash the cum off her body.

on her way back up stairs she ran into something hard and nearly fell that is until she was caught in a cold metallic grip looking up she had to fight almost screaming as she saw the spartan that she had forgotten about.

"GOD!!!! DONT Do that". slowly Pepper had come to acknowledge the fact that she hadn't exactly put on her clothes just yet and the ones that she was using to cover herself with tumbled down toward the floor like a world war 2 bomber blown out of the sky.

Back to Pepper she was currently blushing up a storm helped back to her feet by the Spartan Pepper quickly picked up her clothes, giving the spartan a good view of herself, and ran off upstairs away from the Spartan not saying a word.

Once Pepper reached her room she closed the door behind her falling backwards onto the door breathing a little bit harder her face was flushed red she felt a heat resonating from her.

...(Peppers thoughts).'did i just bend down and make a show on purpose, Come on Pepper what are you doing well what aren't we doing I mean if Tony can have sex with who ever he wants why cant I.'

Shaking her head she quickly went to the bathroom to wash up.

Back with Tony the dude was just getting up and was quite satisfied with the sex, speaking of sex he slowly recalled that he still had a reporter to 'TALK TO'.

Getting some pants on Tony was also heading up for a quick shower walking up stairs and passing by the spartan he simply said morning and walked straight forward to his room.

The Spartan just staired at them not really saying much except for heading to his room and removing his armour so he could take a shower.

After everyone was freshened up Tony called for 118 as he had a meeting to get to with the rest of the avengers.

READERS I HAVE TO APOLOGIZE.... i have not been updating frequently. im under a lot of pressure im close to being droped from my early college highschool. on the bright side if i am dropped im more likely to spend more time . writing my fanfics and novels. i may upload a paterons so as to make this a full career. during the last couple of days i have broke my ipad and my phone losing access to webnovel for a bit and losing access to discord.  im curently borrowing a laptop so i guess ill see how it goes i cant help but get super tired out by these mundane scenes like i can barely read them and writing them is even more unbarable. its ironic because i hate writing and reading and im terrible at writing yet im striving to be an author. i guess i just got tired of not being able to read something i wanted to read and resorted to creating it instead.   so this is probably a glimps of the next chapter. umm so im super unsure about the future there goes my associates degree in biology. also im sick so im missing valuable days of education that isnt helping my dire situation as i have like 4 college courses along with my highschool courses intotal i have probably like 12 or 14 coursrs im taking. and im probably heading to school today as i already missed a day yesterday for being sick im still sick but probably not sick enough to miss another day. well its 1:56 and im gonna go back to watching Hotel Beau Sejour until i pass out from exuastion.

I have been awed by the mystery and the powers of the elements since I was a kid. I think I ought to give credit to all the anime cartoons that was available in our time, especially when it dominated the Philippine Primetime shows in the 90's. I also caught the Funny Komiks fever which is actually quite an integral part of my childhood as I've learned to read and associate the words just by looking at the pictures – all by myself and with my twin brother, KC. This culture pushed me to draw pictures and cartoon characters that led for me to be creative, ultimately finding out that I can make and invent stories of my own. 

As my skill advanced from the traditional stick figures, I needed a challenge and by the age of eight, I have started to make my own stories loosely based on the arena-type battles such as Dragonball Z, Pokemon, and Flame of Recca. We don't have much money then so we have to improvise to hone our craft. After the end of our school year, my twin brother and I used to pull the spring from my notebook and compile all the empty leaves to stitch 'em up together to form a thick notebook to make my cartoon stories – my very own comic book. We have made tons of it, usually strips of stories that ranged from ten to twenty pages at most, but by the end of my first year in highschool I finished a full length comic book story called "Pyrobot" – a robot created to protect the Earth similar to Combatron and Megaman. But this didn't make me happy though. The plot of the story is quite juvenile then, so I plotted a story – a serious one that touches topics of mystery and gives tales of adventures made by an entirely different civilization. That's when I conceptualized "The Omegatribe", which is the book's original title eleven years ago. I tried to plan it to fruition but then school made me extremely busy, it forced me to just put a pin on that project. 

Graduation came fast which made me happy for a bit thinking I could start the project in hiatus but lo and behold, college revealed to be my enemy too. I tried drawing slides and planned to color it in the computer by scanning it and rendering it on Photoshop but all was in vain as this takes too long a time to continue. This project is going down the drain and I could feel the urge of giving up but luckily, God has given me a window. He led me to our college publication, The Business Access Magazine, and this gave me the necessary foundation to make me adept in putting my thoughts into words. After gaining my bachelor's degree in Management at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, I finally vowed to finish the story I started on 2003 and turn this comic book into a novel instead. On January 2009, I started to write it all up. It's quite hard at first as I have been writing it while taking another degree in accountancy at the University of the East. Also, the challenge is the research and plotting the story to make it complete. This ate time that it took three years for me to finish it and another year and a half to revisit the story: to create a time table, assign the time frame, and identify the lunar faces on each chapter. I have finished writing it on the same time I passed the board last year on May 2013. I have to thank God for this miracle as I couldn't have done it without his blessing, guidance, and inspiration. It's quite a challenging adventure, one that I am really thankful to experience.

When Bathala created the world, He made sure that the Earth will be safe from the Mortals: the Men and Women of the Earth. Their potential for evil has saddened Him deeply. He has to go away to create Paraiso but He needs to protect them from destroying themselves.

"Momo... hurry up!!.... we're going to be late!!" Yelled Linda, as she rushed towards the newly constructed building within the school premises.
Little Momo and her, were on their way towards the chemistry laboratory.
Today, they were taking Chemistry 3.
Ever since the beginning of April, they had been taking 6 main courses:
•Biology 1 (Classes of living organisms)
•Math 4 (simple variable math, like find X)
•Chemistry 2
•Chemistry 3 (introduction to lab science)
•Physics 1
•Phyno 4
Apart from these ones, they also had other fun and creative courses that occurred once a week... like:
•Arts & Craft 1
•Ethics & Morality 1 
•Health & Hygiene 1
•Literature 1
•Music 1
• And Physical Education 
Another surprising thing for the students was that this year, the school had created a Student Council body based on the votes from the students.
Also, each class had a class monitor and deputy class monitor that's entrusted in assisting the teachers in class, aiding the weak students, roll call... and so on.
No matter what amongst the 2 leaders, one had to be female and the other male.
Generally, once the winners for both the Male Group and female group emerged.... the students would then vote between the 2, and choose who should be the class monitor or deputy class monitor.
For the biology class, the students were taught the basics like: cells, microbes, plant systems, animal systems, invertebrates and vertebrates.
In short, they were taught about all the classes of living organisms.
Of course for Math 4, they focused on simple variable math... like 5x=10, find X.
In that class, they focused on understanding one to two variable equations..... which were usually linear equations.
For chemistry 2, the students would still focused on reactions, atoms and so on.... but now with the use of calculators, they had begun learning about calculating molecular weight and so on.
Of course just so that the students could breathe a little, music, literature, physical education and arts & craft were essentially a must.
In short, this semester was a busy one.
Today, Linda and little Momo were heading towards the Chemistry Lab in the new school building.
Once they got in, they immediately climbed the stairs until they arrived at the 3rd floor... where they were greeted with a large group of students outside the lab.
The area was bustling with busy students.
Friends greeted each other with hugs or playful punches, while others had their eyes glued on their books as they continued doing assignments that were due in the next class.
Some already had their lab coats and safety wears on, while others were busy wearing theirs on now.
In fact, everyone was doing their own thing as they waited for the class to begin.
Instantly, the duo opened their bags and quickly pulled out their neatly folded lab coats and safety items.
For this class, everyone was required to wear their lab coats, gloves, rubber boots, and goggles.
Linda looked at her watch and knew that it would soon be time for them to go in.
And right on queue, Mother Kim and teacher Gophen opened the lab doors from instead and ushered the students in.
"Morning Teacher Kim!"
"Morning teacher Gophen!"
"Morning teacher...."

Everyone greeted their teachers, as they walked in and immediately found their usual spot.
The Laboratory was massive, with several working slabs, cupboards with equipments stored in them, and a small storage room at its front.
Linda and Momo immediately spotted their other group members, and rushed over to join them.
Ever since the beginning of the semester, they had been put in groups of 5.
Apparently, these people would be their lab partners throughout the entire semester.
"Alright.... before we begin, you all know the drill.
In front of each group, are 5 question sheets.
You all have 7 minutes to answer them.
Remember, no cheating and no copying.... these small tests make up 20% of your final grade.
Now.... Begin!!"
Linda immediately flipped her question sheet and got to work.
For this Chemistry 3 course, they had 1 theory class on Tuesdays, and 1 lab session on Thursdays.
And at the beginning of each lab session, they would have mini quizzes that would test them on what they had learnt in their Tuesday classes.
Chemistry 3 was a course based on Laboratory work, so they had to know about the equipments in front of them, safety lab hazards and so on.
In fact... Ever since the students knew that these questions were 20%, they had taken them seriously
Linda filled her name and school number on the question sheet, before proceeding to answer the questions.
The questions were straight to the point, and easy to answer if one was paying attention during lectures.
And just like that, time flew by quickly... 7 minutes later, the quizzes collected back by teacher Gophen.
And the papers were collected, Mother Kim began distributing the Lab manual sheets for today's experiment.

"Alright.... before we begin our Laboratory experiment, let's recap on what Teacher Winnie has been you all in Chemistry 2." Mother Kim said.
The students immediately took out their books and writing materials.... While others flipped the pages of their books to the last pen-filled page.
It was important for the students to know about what reactions they were going to perform today, hence it was good for them to recap on what they were previously taught.
"So as usual, let's look back on what you all have been learning so far.
I need a few examples of chemistry around us... anyone?" Mother Kim asked, as she waited for the students to raise their hands.
"Yes Filipa?" She said, while pointing at a little girl at the front of the room.
"Air is essentially chemistry, because it's constantly undergoing a chemical change.
For example, we breathe out carbon dioxide and take in oxygen... so air is always changing.
Also... air undergoes changes whenever smoke is released in to the atmosphere by burning, hence it's part of Chemistry."
"Correct!!.
Any other examples of Chemistry around us?" Kim asked.
"Our bodies."

Note: Due to the nature of the book, there is very little 'story' but I have tried to break it up a bit with story to make it less of a straight info dump.

Zhou Wen did not have a good past. 
He was the first person from his village that went to university and all the village came to say goodbye to him when he left for university.
It was an era when education was not as popular and easy to access compared to nowadays.
He came to the city and many students in university were from if not rich but well off families.
He was often bullied in his classes because the cloths that he wore were often dirty and even sometimes tattered but he did not let these things slow him down.
He studied hard and completed his graduation and after that, he started to work at the same university.
Because he was from a humble background, he did not get the respect that he deserved from his workplace. Still smile never left his face. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and never took part in the power struggle until one incident.
He was a bright student and from his university days, he had started to work on a project that he thought would help many people. He was never after fame or money. He wanted to do something for the country. For the country that helped him study and gave him a scholarship to not worry about fees.
He encountered difficulty when creating the program and asked for advice from a senior who was well versed in that field. Who knew it would be his worst mistake.
Though his Senior helped him, he asked him about many other things related to the program that he was writing.
Suddenly he acted like he forgot something and ask Zhou Wen to get a file from his office. Zhou Wen did not get suspicious or anything. He was more than happy to help his senior.
He just went and got that file. It took him 10 min for this and those 10 mins changed his personality forever.
His senior left after getting that file and Zhou Wen resumed his work.
1 month later he found out that his senior was getting a reward and promotion for contributing to society.
When he found that the reason why he was getting rewarded was because of the same software that he was writing. He went to see him and hard reality was shown to him.
His senior talked to him with a cold face and said.
"What do you mean by, your work. I developed it and I am senior. I am well versed in this field why would I steal from you."
Zhou Wen felt like a bomb has been dropped in his head. He could never believe that the senior that he trusted and respected would do this to him. He tried his best to get his work back but got nothing.
He even went to the dean off the university but no one listened to him. The dean even threatened to kick him out of the university if he ever talked about this topic again.
Apparently that senior was related to the dean so it was not a surprise that head would cover for his relative.
This incident told Zhou Wen about how the world works and that he should only give respect to those who deserve it and make relations. Many relations.
Thus cold face Dean came into being. He worked very hard and after struggling a lot he got into the power struggle and finally became the dean of the university.
He could go for a higher position and he even had the qualification for it. But he felt quite satisfied with his current position.
Because of this even some of his seniors would talk to him politely. Today when Fu Yan spoke to him and used his own words against him.  He found it interesting and was somewhat furious.
He decided to test this young man who looked very confident about his claim.
Now came the problem of how should he test him. Though Zhou Wen was a little angry but he thought rationally.
"Well no matter if he talked back to me, I should convince him first to attend classes because university helps a lot and students learn many new things here even if they are genius."
So he looked towards Fu Yan and said.
"Student Yan, I understand that you are very confident about your company being successful and I hope that it is, but think carefully. You learn many things here and if you don't take classes and only give exams, it won't help you improve."
Fu Yan smiled. He could see that the dean was being serious and he wanted to help him so he replied in a respectful tone.
"Sir I know what you mean but I think I can't learn anything new here. By being in the field would help me better. I entered university only because my aunt wanted me to have a degree. I did not come here to study."
Dean Zhou looked perplexed upon hearing Fu Yan's answer. He Wanted good for his students but it looks like this student did not want to appreciate it.
He initially wanted to convince him and let this student miss some classes if he wanted but now he had decided if Fu Yan did not pass his test. He would not allow him to miss even 1 class and if he did, he would not be allowed to sit in the exam.
"Hmph. Not appreciating my kindness." Zhou Wen thought.
He spoke to Fu Yan.
"Alright.Since you are so confident that you can skip classes and still take exams without a problem so it won't matter if I used questions from advance courses. Right?"
Fu Yan nodded without showing any expressions on his face.
Zhou Wen got even angrier upon seeing Fu Yan nodded so he thought.
"Hmmph brat. Now you will know that you should respect your elders and if they offer you any advice, you should consider it and follow it with heart."
He said.
"Alright, let's start your test."

Stories aren't supposed to start with the main character waking up. It's a rule that she learned in her creative writing class in college. Something about boring the reader or being a cliche. But that is exactly how her story started when she woke up and found herself surrounded by a doctor and two nurses.

"What's your name?" the doctor asked.

"Mei Lin, Yang Mei Lin." she replied in croaked voice, "Water." she demanded, her throat felt dry as if she had been deprived of water.

A nurse helped her drink a few sips of water as the doctor kept on asking her ridiculous questions like her parents' names, her birthday, her sister's birthday, her dog's name. It was starting to get annoying.

"Do you know the date?" asked the doctor.

Mei Lin shifted in the bed slightly and found herself wincing in pain, "I am sure that there must be a reason you asking me about all this stuff but can you please tell me why am I here?"

The doctor looked at her with a small smile on his face, "You had an accident, a very severe accident." that was all he said before he again asked about what date it was today and the last thing that she remembered.

"I remember drinking with my friends, we were partying late because I had gotten a job. And about the date, well I am not sure, is it 10 days from 16th of July?"

The doctor frowned, "What year do you think it is?" he asked.

"2017 of-course."

Both the nurses looked at the doctor while the doctor stared at her as if she had grown horns, "What? What's wrong?"

Before the doctor could reply they were disturbed by the sound of the door of the hospital room opening as Mei Lin's elder brother Yang Yang barged inside followed by their parents. "Hey" Mei Lin smiled weakly, she teared up feeling emotional as if she was seeing them after a while. How long was she in the hospital?

Her brother hugged her, being careful of her injuries, "Finally the beauty woke up from her sleep, hhmm." he said.

She raised her head and looked at her parents who were staring at her lovingly and with tears in their eyes while the doctor had that worried look on his face, the look that clearly said that there was something seriously wrong with her.

"Can you please tell me about what date it is today?" the doctor asked. Yang Yang finally let go of his sister and looked at the doctor with questioning eyes.

"I think it's July 2017 or it could be August depending on how long I was unconscious." she replied and now everybody in the room was looking at her as if she had said something wrong.

"What? What it is?" she frowned and once again before anybody could reply they were disturbed by someone again.

"I heard that she is awake. Is it true?" standing at the door, looking handsome as ever was the man of her dreams, Huang Li Wei. He was panting hard as if he had run on his way here and when his gaze settled on Mei Lin, he was immediately by her side, kissing her forehead.

"Thank God you are fine!" he said and now Mei Lin was sure that something definitely was wrong. Huang Li Wei had never been this much affectionate towards her, like never ever!

"What? What's happening? Can someone please explain?" Mei Lin asked.

"I was worried that this may happen. You had hit your head pretty hard after all. And sometimes with head injuries, you can experience a degree of amnesia." the doctor said.

"Eh, what?!" Mei Lin cried out.

"Amnesia?" the way Li Wei said the word was kinda heartbreaking, "Baby, don't you remember me?" he asked cupping her cheeks.

Mei Lin blushed, 'Baby?' since when did he start to address her by the endearment? "I do remember you." she muttered.

"She thinks that it's July of the year 2017." her mother said.

"So?" Mei Lin was expecting an answer. Amnesia? What date it is exactly?

"Miss Yang today is 1st December 2018. You don't remember more than a year of your life. You are suffering from retrograde amnesia." the doctor explained.

Mei Lin's eyes widened in surprise, her head started feeling heavy, her gaze blurred and she fell unconscious.

Yang Mei Lin has been in love with Huang Li Wei, like always. He's a year older than her and also her best friend's cousin. Since she was 14 she had fantasized about marrying him and becoming the mother of his cute babies. But now that her fantasy is coming true, she is all of a sudden having cold feet.

And to add to this already messy situation; there is Huang Li Wei's elder brother, the heir of Huang Enterprises, Huang Li Jun. 

His one look makes her heart race.
His touch makes her melt into a puddle.

What is it about him that does wonders to her?

Year 2016 on the month of June.

The warm breeze blew throughout the East Cambridge neighborhood. Laughter can be heard in the midst of humble and roughly made houses which were in contrast with the brilliantly shining moon, hidden among the splendid stars in the sky.

In an alley, a young man could be vaguely seen walking towards the road. The man was wearing a grey hoodie, red t-shirt, black jeans and white sneakers. While he was walking towards the street, a car suddenly appeared in the corner. The young man was obviously startled but he tried to get out of the way. However, before he even had the chance, the car came crashing down on him.

In an apartment, a man could be seen lying on the bed with his face facing downwards. With a messy bed hair, his good sleep was suddenly disturbed when the vibration of an alarm came.

"Bzzzzzzt-bzzzzzt!"

The alarm went on for 20 seconds before the man woke up.

"Ugh... what time is it already?" Clyde sleepily dismissed the alarm while checking his phone for the time. It was already 1 p.m. in the afternoon.

"It's weird I didn't wake up... don't I usually get up with my alarm set at 10 a.m.? Oh well... maybe I'm just tired with all the stuff that has been going on at school."
 
While talking to himself, Clyde dragged his body out of the bed. He first went towards the restroom to relieve himself then he took a bath and came out refreshed. Going towards the closet to dress, he took his underwear then fixed himself up with a faded red t-shirt, and black skinny jeans. Walking down the stairs, he found his white sneakers which he wore and tied up.

Checking the mirror in the kitchen, he could see a vibrant young man smiling charmingly. He has curly auburn blonde hair with matching striking bright brown eyes. His eyes made him look like he had experienced a multitude of things. He was slim but not skinny, he has an athletic slim build. He was around 5'11 ft tall, almost making it 6 ft, but sadly, it's not there yet.

After looking at the mirror, he was satisfied with his look. Taking the grey hoodie hanged in the door, he wore it then made his way out the house. Before going out the door, he made sure to feed his cat "Lucy" her favorite meal. Giving Lucy a scratch in the belly, Clyde opened the door and felt the refreshing air and the warm breeze that flew throughout the neighborhood. Clyde felt alive again.

"Another day and another 24 hours of being alive." Clyde grinned at his own remark. He went towards his college which was only a ten-minute walk away.

Clyde being 17 years old, is a 4th year college student double majoring in chemistry and in physics. He was actually years ahead compared to those who are with the same age as him. Clyde skipped 2 grades when he was in grade school and also 2 grades in high school. After that, he enrolled at his college at the age of 14 but since he started studying there, he tried to take his time slow while living his life however he was still advancing very fast in his studies. When he was 16, the teachers applied for his early graduation due to him completing all courses on his double major degree. The school also gave him an accelerated program for being so young as a graduating student, he was given the opportunity to advance in graduate school and having the chance to pursue his master's degree on both chemistry and physics in his college.

While walking at the streets, he passed by his favorite cafe which serves the best coffee in town. However, his favorite thing in the cafe is not their coffee but their frappes. After passing by the cafe, he also saw the library. Being a book lover, Clyde loves to read different kinds of books. He also benefited from this hobby of his due to the plentiful knowledge being acquired while reading.
 
Most of the reason why Clyde skipped grades is because he really likes to read so this helped him a lot. He tends to advance read courses that are not for his grade during grade school until college. Also, when he picked up Lucy on the alley at the back of a bar, his knowledge on animals due to reading books about Veterinary Medicine helped him a lot.
 
Passing by a lot of establishments, the memories he has for the past four years flashed by his eyes. The Bar where he picked up Lucy, the fast food chain that he eats dinner on, the shopping center where he buys groceries and a whole lot more.
 
Finally, after 10 minutes of walking, he finally reached his university. One of the most prestigious university all around the globe, Harvard University.

The campus of Harvard in Cambridge has a lot of history to tell, mostly all of the buildings in this campus have been built long ago. The buildings were mixed of old western and European architecture which was made of red bricks, English windows and navy-blue roofs. The campus has a span around 5 kilometers from west to northwest of downtown Boston.
 
Walking on the campus, Clyde passed by the trees and lawns and went towards the Department of Chemistry. While walking, a woman with a short platinum blonde hair was jogging towards him. Then suddenly she gave Clyde a big hug.

"Happy Birthday Clyde!" the beautiful woman said with a beaming smile.

She was wearing a collared white blouse with a navy-blue ribbon and with a matching navy-blue pencil skirt with white 5 inched high heels. Clyde smiled as he saw his best friend. Giving back a hug, Clyde rustled her hair just to irritate her.

"Clyde! Just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you could ruin my hair!" she angrily said with an annoyed look.

"Okay, fine. By the way Alex, thanks for your "warm greeting" for my birthday. I almost forgot that this is the day where I would be an adult." Clyde cheekily said with a grin on his face.

Rolling her eyes, Alex just grabbed Clyde's hand towards the Department of Chemistry. "You know, Professor Dmitri has been waiting for you for a while now. I know that you will be graduating and all but he seems to be more excited with you gone." Alex said while walking.
 
"Maybe he's just happy that I'm graduating as a top student of the class?" Clyde arrogantly said.

"How boastful of you! I hope that the thesis you passed to Professor Dmitri was horrible!" with an irritated look, Alex just went walked faster and tried to leave Clyde behind.

"Okay, jokes aside, let's just go towards the faculty room." Walking on the hallways, there were still some students that could be seen even though it was summer break. Since it was the graduation period, there were still some requirements that needed to be passed. However, that was not the reason why Clyde came into the campus. Clyde's purpose here was to get his finalized thesis which was proofread by Professor Dmitri.

After walking for around 5 minutes, the two finally stopped walking.

"I'll leave you here. I need to get materials for my final presentation of my thesis. Bye! Happy Birthday again!" Alex waved her hands while walking.

"Okay! Thanks!" while grinning, Clyde knocked the door 3 times before opening it. "Professor Dmitri? are you here?" checking his surroundings, it was like a living room, however it was incorporated with an office. There was a door at back of the desk that was full of files. Clyde again repeated his question while he was looking around. After a while, an old but powerful voice was heard.
 
"Clyde! There you are! I was done proofreading your thesis. What could I say, there were no mistakes that I could find! All I could say is that your thesis was spot on! You did a good job as this is your graduating piece. How bold of you incorporating both your two majors in writing your thesis." the old man said while walking from the door behind his desk. 
 
The professor looked like a nice man, with gentle features and soft white hair combed neatly. He was still wearing his lab coat and his clothes were a bit messy. While walking the professor spoke "How proud am I for a student of mine is so brilliant. The field of science is for the young generation to conquer." he happily said while reminiscing.

"Yes professor, I will make sure on continuing making you proud with my oral defense." Clyde reassuringly said.


"Just so you know, there would be 4 people on your oral defense, and their accolades have all types of international awards. Be sure to prepare well and satisfy them through your presentation. Being one of the youngest persons to get a master's degree is not that easy in Harvard. Also, prepare for the publication of your thesis in the SCI after your defense!" Professor Dmitri said warily.

" Yes, professor. I'll make sure to satisfy them and prepare for the publication!" While getting his proofread thesis from the professor, he went out the room while waving goodbye.

" Alas, how good it is to be young." Professor said while remembering his past.

Walking down the hallway, he hurriedly walked past the rooms and went out the school lawns. Walking pass the trees; he went through the gates and left the campus.

Clyde actually does not have many friends; he only has his best friend Alex due to both of them being accelerated students. Alex, however is 20 years old, 2 years older than Clyde. She is pursuing her aspirations in Harvard Law school. She is already around her 4th year, just like Clyde, she advances 2 years in her grade. Besides Alex, he is mostly close to his professors and he is glad that he has them as companions while studying at Harvard.

Walking in his neighborhood, Clyde went to his usual hanging place after school, The Gym. This has been around here for as long as 20 years, the owner was a strict but kind old man. He may be old but he still has a lot of power hidden in his old body. Clyde got to knew him when he was being cornered by 4 schoolmates. They were bullying him since he was young and their arrogance think that he doesn't deserve to be enrolled at the age of 14 at Harvard. They were kicking and punching him everywhere. The worse thing is that he was still skinny back then, he has no muscles to protect his body and all those hurling kicks and punches hurt a whole lot more for him. The old man saved him from those who were bullying and abusing him physically. Those 4 got expelled after the old man reported them to the school. Clyde does not know what connection the old man has and how the process of expulsion was that quick. He guessed that having that kind of attitude is not tolerated in the school of Harvard.

Walking inside the gym, he saw the old man fixing the barbells into the right places. Clyde went on to help him and after 10 minutes, they finally have cleaned the gym. The gym was not that large, only around 300 square meters. The old man still kept the gym neat and clean even when there are not a lot of people going in here. Before, this was a bustling place as the old man said in his stories. However, after having new built gyms around the neighborhood, having high-tech and other updated facilities, all his customers went to those new gyms. His old friends were the only one going back to the gym.

The gym only has a 100 square meter ring, a rack of barbells, punching bags, a treadmill and a stationary bicycle. It may be small and old however the gym looked like it was taken cared of well. 

"Hey Old man, how have you been the past week? I was quite busy in school so I haven't visited." asked by the young man.

"Your cheeky brat, I told you to call me Coach and not old man!" the old man grumpily said.

"Anyways 'Coach', I'm here to have my training again, I haven't trained for 5 days and my body feels something is missing." Clyde said while ignoring the glare of old Sam. 

"I told you to have a regular training because you need to build up more muscles. Okay brat, go to the ring, prepare for a bit and do some stretching." Old Sam said. 

Clyde went to the ring and waited for the old man Sam while doing some stretching. The old man was a retired military officer. He never said what his past position was but from the stories he heard from the old man, it looked like he had a high position before. Not knowing why, the old man was here in this run-down gym, Clyde was still thankful because the old man taught him how to protect and defend himself and also how to fight.

The old man Sam gave Clyde bandages for his fist and he underwent his training.

While Clyde was training, he was not aware that this would be the day that would change his life.

Being a student, Clyde lived his life to his liking. Going on adventures, travelling around the world, while at the same time studying and acquiring knowledge through books. At the age of 18, he was already a graduate student, however, because of that, he does not have many friends. But suddenly, due to one fateful day, a game called "Pokèmon GO" went viral. Walking in the streets to go home which was his usual routine, a driver was seen playing the game "Pokèmon GO". He was trying to catch a Pokemon named "Pikachu", however, the moment he caught it, Clyde's life would never be the same again.

Chapter one: A Day At The Lake



I woke to the rumbling purr of Ares. He curled his paws under his body as he laid on my chest. I struggled to open my eyes to see my adorable kitty. His gray and brown fur lined with black stripes was so soft to the touch. He was my familiar. An animal who is deeply connected to a witch and assists them in magical affairs. He can't talk, but we can understand one another in different ways. 

It was summer break, one year into collage, and school was already harder than I thought. Not English. I was already finished with those classes. I was planning on taking some creative writing classes in the coming year for fun, but math had me stumped. I was at the lowest level and trying to get a science degree. A witch with a science degree. Wouldn't that be great. After that, I would go on to a university to try for a master's degree in zoology. If I could make it that long.

I had turned nineteen a few weeks ago. I didn't feel my age. Half of the time I felt like a child.

It was Tuesday, and Elizabeth and I had a whole day of hanging out planned. I needed a day out. I usually spend most of my time inside. Witches need to spend a lot of time outside to gather magical energy from the elements. Liz and I are not always great at being witches though. Since we both live in the crappy part of the city, there isn't much nature. Lucky for us there is a small man-made lake within walking distance. It's where the "rich houses" started, so it was usually lush with trees. The water, however, was infested with bacteria from birds and peoples moldy bread.

Liz and I were pretty much introverts. Her more so than me. She spent most of her time reading and I spent mine writing. We made a great team. She studied books on witchcraft passed down by other witches, while I practice the art of creating new spells. I am pretty good at it. I am what was known as a manipulator. A witch who naturally moves and changes energy... aka spells. Liz was an empath. She could tell what others are feeling and thinking. She also could feel and see the flow of magic. Kind of jealous of that. 

After I dressed in boot cut jeans and a light blue tank top, I peeked into my sister's room. Serena was playing on her tablet, listening to boy band music. Fitting, considering her walls were covered in posters of male pop sensations. 

"Serena. Want to come with me and Liz to the lake today?" I asked her.

"Not today. I'm going over to Bridgette's later. Her mom is picking me up." She never stopped looking at her tablet. 

Serena and I had gotten closer since I started college. Most of my friends and I started to drift apart already, and we were constantly arguing with mom. We both felt pretty lonely and decided we should be friends instead of sibling rivals.

"Ok, I'm heading out then. See ya!" I texted Liz that I was on my way.

Mom was still laying on the couch. She didn't have her own room. We were living in a two bedroom apartment and, though we fought almost daily, mom always tried to put us first. I am sure she also did not want to deal with my sister and I fighting over space in one room. 

My mom was a plump woman. Her health issues didn't allow her to do too much for too long. It was hard to try and lose weight. Even so, everyone in our family has natural curves. We all have "bubble butts" as my mom would say, and boobs to match. Even when my mom was skinny, she looked like an hourglass. 

"Morning honey." Mom paused her show.

"Good morning. I'm heading over to Liz's." I grabbed my backpack.

"Have fun." She said, "I'm leaving for work soon, so I'll be back around 9:30 tonight. I love you!"

"Love you too, mom." With that, I scurried out the door and wound my way through the gray apartment buildings with dirty concrete stairs and newly painted black doors. Luckily we were in the same complex, so I didn't have to go far. 

As I made my way through the apartment's playground, I saw Liz heading down from her apartment on the second floor. Good, I hated stairs. I was happy to be on a ground floor.

Liz pinned back the front of her dark brown hair so it wouldn't get in her face. She was in her usual black tank and jeans too long for either of us. 

"Sam!" She yelled, as she ran up to me. She widened her eyes, showed all of her teeth and pulled her head back to make a triple chin look. I screamed and hid behind the nearest tree. I laughed as she jumped out from around the tree trunk. She pretended to hump my leg and pushed her off as I shuttered. That's my bestie. Always trying to make me as uncomfortable as possible.

"Liz!" I licked my hand and wiped it on her face. 

She screamed "Eeewww!"

We walked to the dollar store a few blocks away and bought snacks and drinks. The summer heat was already beating down on me. I couldn't stand being too hot. As much as I loved the swimming, walking barefoot and wearing tank tops that comes with summer, I absolutely loved the winter time. Winter brought snow. The snow holds intense magic within it, and here in northern Nevada, we usually got lots of it come winter time. 

We made our way to the lake. In the middle of the shallow brown water sat two large fountains spewing out in every direction. It made it sound peaceful, despite the chatter of people walking the trail or the buzz of cars passing by. 

Liz and I had two favorite spots. The first was the dock. We found the entrance ramp that was lined in tall bushes and grasses and raced to the T shaped, white dock bouncing on the water. It was lined with railing and secured from floating away by large poles. 

We sat at the end eating our snacks. I pulled out a coke from my Frozen themed backpack, and Liz grabbed a Pepsi from her mini black back pack. Yes, I was obsessed with Disney. I told you I always felt more like a child.

"Pepsi is my soda husband." Liz said.

"What?" I gasped. "No way, we have to share. You can share coke with me."

"Nah, you can keep coke, I'll take Dr. Pepper." She winked.

"Deal. It's a shame, we'll have to find new husbands when were done with these." The coke burned my throat as I slurped it down.

"It's ok. I've got back ups at home." We both laughed.

"Do you think we sound crazy?" I asked.

"Sam... We're secret witches, staring at a man-made lake, while talking about soda husbands... we are crazy 'tupid head." 

I loved our weird talks. Half of the time we made no sense or were completely inappropriate. It was nice to have friends as weird and random as I was. Even my high school friends were super odd. Not everyone can handle all my crazy. 

Sharon was like an older sister. We were sister witches bound by magic. We had many fights in the past, but could never stand to stay apart for too long. It's not easy to be the only practicing witch around. I know she likes to be seen as tough, and she is, but I knew Liz didn't like to always feel alone. Her family were all bible thumpers and we didn't live in a great place for making friends – human or other. Most people our age around here were into drugs, wanabe gangs, or already on their second kid.

We moved to our second favorite spot a bit further down the lake. It was a small circle surrounded by trees and large rocks. It had some small broken statues and an unused water fountain just on the other side. This was our place of worship. There wasn't many choices in the city to hold sacred rituals in the arms of nature, so we made do with what we had. I'm sure most people were too high or stuck on their cell phones to notice us chanting, lighting candles and wearing strange clothes. Or they thought we were on crack. This was Reno after all.

We had a spot to represent each element in our circle of trees. Facing north sat a curved tree that laid out like a bench that we used for resting on while dangling our legs. This represented Earth. To the west was the lake and a stump in the shape of a kings chair facing it. This represented Water. To the south was a concrete bench we used to hold our candles and incense during ritual holidays. This was for Fire. The last side to the east held a broken statue more than 5 feet tall. This represented Air.

I said, "I stopped talking with that guy."

"Aww, that sucks. You'll find somebody eventually. I'm older than you and still haven't been on a date either."

I had been spending my days talking with a boy in Australia for quite some time. We video chatted almost daily. I loved listening to him talk. Who doesn't adore an Australian accent? He was smart and loved animals, almost as much as I did. We ended it though since we both knew it was unrealistic to ever meet in person. We were just too far away. 

I asked, "want to see something cool? I've been working on a protection spell." 

"Yuss!" Liz leaned forward to watch. 

I drew the Algiz rune on my hand with a sharpie I pulled from my bag. I held my palm forward, closed my eyes and chanted under my breath "Praesidium. Praesidium. Praesidium."

I opened my eyes and Canada geese began to gather from all directions. None got too close, but they formed a circle around us. Liz pulled out her book of shadows and flipped through her notes. 

"Geese are  a symbol of protection. Nice! That can come in handy around this place." Liz threw some cracked corn towards the geese for a snack.

After chatting about our worries and complaining about our moms, it was time to head over to the local crystal shop. Every Tuesday a few witches gather to give free energy healings. That is where we gathered notes on practicing our craft. A healing was nice, especially after practicing spells. It really starts to drain you after a while.

Samantha Stone is a young witch. At 19 years old she begins her journey of magical knowledge, relationships, self discovery, and adventure. She volunteers at the local zoo and hopes to use her magical skills to help animals one day. Sam's new craft opens her eyes to a world of creatures and demons that she must face along with the obstacles of everyday life.
