This journey involves my answering of 365 creative writing prompts in a desperate bid to overcome my laziness.

THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW: I've gotten over the majority of my laziness. I'm unlikely to update this much. It's pretty much complete. The novel I'm working on is Dark Seas Leading Demise

They sat there talking and teasing each other for some more time before heading to their respective homes. 


ONE YEAR LATER

Shradha walked into  Computer Science department. She had to meet the dean of the department regarding her project. After discussing for 45 minutes about the project, the dean wanted to speak to her regarding future plans and higher studies. He gave examples of a few seniors who were currently pursuing masters abroad and urged Shradha to think about masters. He seemed to think that with her grades, projects and coding experience all the good universities were within reach. He had said it would increase her value in the job market. Shradha had promised to research further about scholarships and other things for his sake. 

"At home, dad wants to increase my value in the wedding market; here the dean wants to increase my value in the job market. Why are people behind increasing my value !?" Shradha murmured jokingly. She walked to her scooty thinking Nishant would have enjoyed that dialogue. 

Within one year, a lot of things had changed, not just for Shradha and Nishant, but for others as well.  Prithvi and Rohan were integral part of their life and 4 of them hung out a lot at Rohan's apartment. Technically it was a shared place between  Prithvi and Rohan but  Prithvi paid only a small part of the rent while all other expenses were taken care by Rohan. They knew very well how to balance each others family and financial situation. Rohan was from a wealthy family in Delhi while  Prithvi was from a lower middle class family in Bengaluru.  Prithvi stayed in hostel as his home was far from college and daily commute was tiresome, but he visited home regularly. Rohan accompanied him most of time as  Prithvi's parents knew that he was homesick. So they showered Rohan with love and care. Rohan's family was grateful to know that someone was taking care of their precious son well. So they had never objected Rohan even when he spent a lot of money for  Prithvi. Both families were happy about their friendship.

Nishant had been spending a major part of his day in their apartment. He thought that their apartment was the perfect place for him to work on his writing. He would go back home mostly for eating and speaking in the night. Sheela had been really unhappy about this development, but there was nothing she could do. Her son did not respond to her emotional blackmails like earlier. In a way he had grown immune to her words. He would just smile and get on with his work. Nishant always tried his best not to be rude to Sheela or fight with her. He would just listen to her without actually listening to her and never argued back. This was the tactic his father had taught him secretly and this trick saved Nishant from stress. Then again, he hardly spent time at home. Writing had become one of the important part of Nishant and somehow Rohan's bachelor pad was the perfect place for him to be creative and write. Nishant had also been taking more responsibilities at lit club and he had been the chief editor of the college magazine for the last few months.

‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’ means ‘If you are with me’ in Hindi. These simple words could explain how shradha felt about Nishant. He was her sole source of energy; He was the only person who could sense her emotional distress and calm her down easily. He was her best friend, her guide, and also whoever she wanted him to be. To Nishant, Shradha was like a breath of fresh air. She always pushed him beyond his comfort level and helped him rediscover himself. She was his strength and also his weakness. 

Shradha was the girl who was considered as ‘bad influence’, while Nishant was the ‘good guy’, who was role model to many students and even parents. They had nothing in common except for the fact that both of them were lonely and maybe a little broken. 

Nishant and Shradha came together by coincidence. Their relationship started with simple friendship, which slowly grew into strong bond. He could show his silliness only in front of her while she could afford to show her real self only to him. Despite constant opposition from their family, Shradha and Nishant had continued to be ‘best friends’ and nothing else. 
They were each others ‘first’ in many things and even when the whole world could see how they were already in relationship, Nishant and Shradha could not see the obvious.
When they finally realized they have been in love the whole time, all it took was changing the status on social media.

"Momo... hurry up!!.... we're going to be late!!" Yelled Linda, as she rushed towards the newly constructed building within the school premises.
Little Momo and her, were on their way towards the chemistry laboratory.
Today, they were taking Chemistry 3.
Ever since the beginning of April, they had been taking 6 main courses:
•Biology 1 (Classes of living organisms)
•Math 4 (simple variable math, like find X)
•Chemistry 2
•Chemistry 3 (introduction to lab science)
•Physics 1
•Phyno 4
Apart from these ones, they also had other fun and creative courses that occurred once a week... like:
•Arts & Craft 1
•Ethics & Morality 1 
•Health & Hygiene 1
•Literature 1
•Music 1
• And Physical Education 
Another surprising thing for the students was that this year, the school had created a Student Council body based on the votes from the students.
Also, each class had a class monitor and deputy class monitor that's entrusted in assisting the teachers in class, aiding the weak students, roll call... and so on.
No matter what amongst the 2 leaders, one had to be female and the other male.
Generally, once the winners for both the Male Group and female group emerged.... the students would then vote between the 2, and choose who should be the class monitor or deputy class monitor.
For the biology class, the students were taught the basics like: cells, microbes, plant systems, animal systems, invertebrates and vertebrates.
In short, they were taught about all the classes of living organisms.
Of course for Math 4, they focused on simple variable math... like 5x=10, find X.
In that class, they focused on understanding one to two variable equations..... which were usually linear equations.
For chemistry 2, the students would still focused on reactions, atoms and so on.... but now with the use of calculators, they had begun learning about calculating molecular weight and so on.
Of course just so that the students could breathe a little, music, literature, physical education and arts & craft were essentially a must.
In short, this semester was a busy one.
Today, Linda and little Momo were heading towards the Chemistry Lab in the new school building.
Once they got in, they immediately climbed the stairs until they arrived at the 3rd floor... where they were greeted with a large group of students outside the lab.
The area was bustling with busy students.
Friends greeted each other with hugs or playful punches, while others had their eyes glued on their books as they continued doing assignments that were due in the next class.
Some already had their lab coats and safety wears on, while others were busy wearing theirs on now.
In fact, everyone was doing their own thing as they waited for the class to begin.
Instantly, the duo opened their bags and quickly pulled out their neatly folded lab coats and safety items.
For this class, everyone was required to wear their lab coats, gloves, rubber boots, and goggles.
Linda looked at her watch and knew that it would soon be time for them to go in.
And right on queue, Mother Kim and teacher Gophen opened the lab doors from instead and ushered the students in.
"Morning Teacher Kim!"
"Morning teacher Gophen!"
"Morning teacher...."

Everyone greeted their teachers, as they walked in and immediately found their usual spot.
The Laboratory was massive, with several working slabs, cupboards with equipments stored in them, and a small storage room at its front.
Linda and Momo immediately spotted their other group members, and rushed over to join them.
Ever since the beginning of the semester, they had been put in groups of 5.
Apparently, these people would be their lab partners throughout the entire semester.
"Alright.... before we begin, you all know the drill.
In front of each group, are 5 question sheets.
You all have 7 minutes to answer them.
Remember, no cheating and no copying.... these small tests make up 20% of your final grade.
Now.... Begin!!"
Linda immediately flipped her question sheet and got to work.
For this Chemistry 3 course, they had 1 theory class on Tuesdays, and 1 lab session on Thursdays.
And at the beginning of each lab session, they would have mini quizzes that would test them on what they had learnt in their Tuesday classes.
Chemistry 3 was a course based on Laboratory work, so they had to know about the equipments in front of them, safety lab hazards and so on.
In fact... Ever since the students knew that these questions were 20%, they had taken them seriously
Linda filled her name and school number on the question sheet, before proceeding to answer the questions.
The questions were straight to the point, and easy to answer if one was paying attention during lectures.
And just like that, time flew by quickly... 7 minutes later, the quizzes collected back by teacher Gophen.
And the papers were collected, Mother Kim began distributing the Lab manual sheets for today's experiment.

"Alright.... before we begin our Laboratory experiment, let's recap on what Teacher Winnie has been you all in Chemistry 2." Mother Kim said.
The students immediately took out their books and writing materials.... While others flipped the pages of their books to the last pen-filled page.
It was important for the students to know about what reactions they were going to perform today, hence it was good for them to recap on what they were previously taught.
"So as usual, let's look back on what you all have been learning so far.
I need a few examples of chemistry around us... anyone?" Mother Kim asked, as she waited for the students to raise their hands.
"Yes Filipa?" She said, while pointing at a little girl at the front of the room.
"Air is essentially chemistry, because it's constantly undergoing a chemical change.
For example, we breathe out carbon dioxide and take in oxygen... so air is always changing.
Also... air undergoes changes whenever smoke is released in to the atmosphere by burning, hence it's part of Chemistry."
"Correct!!.
Any other examples of Chemistry around us?" Kim asked.
"Our bodies."
"The ocean"
"When we make bread."

"She's overestimating herself!" Ye Ying giggled as she heard the news from the broadcast that Ye Jian was participating in the primary competition of the English subject. 
She believed that Ye Jian was not bad in other courses.
But when it came to English… She would be good at it if the sun were to rise from the west!
Many top students had registered for the English exam. Ye Jian was going to embarrass herself.

"Just skip the questions if you can't solve them," Gao Yiyang's low-pitched and cold voice was heard as the exam paper was being handed out. "I will give you the answers when I finish."
No matter what, he would let Ye Jian pass this test!
He would not allow those gossiping students to say anything bad about Ye Jian. After all, Ye Jian… was a girl.
In front of him, Ye Jian, who had been writing, paused and turned around. It seemed that the cold-faced Gao Yiyangwas really thoughtful of her. Calmly, she said, "You are very confident in English. It's because you once lived abroad, right?"
"Ye Jian, I am helping you," Gao Yiyang was a bit uncomfortable when he heard Ye Jian's words, though he didn't recognize any implication from them. "And yes, I have the confidence."
Raising her eyebrows, Ye Jian started to smile. Her pitch-black eyes, reflecting the rays of lamps, were as resplendent as stars. "What a coincidence. I am very confident in myself too. Sorry, I couldn't care less about your so-called 'help'."
"You!" Gao Yiyang's handsome face suddenly turned pale. With a cold look in his eyes, he stared at Ye Jian who had sat up straight. "Ye Jian, don't be so ungrateful." 
Tut, tut, tut. What could he do? Ye Jian was indeed an ungrateful person.
As the cassette rolled, the first listening question began. Gao Yiyang had to restrain his fury.
When the listening session was over, Ye Jian answered the following questions swiftly until she reached the last question in the reading session. When she finished, she handed her exam paper to Mrs. Song, saying goodbye politely to her. Chicly, she left the exam classroom, while the remaining nine classmates were still taking the exam.
Instead of returning to her classroom, she went to An Jiaxin's dorm, picked up her schoolbag and left the school.
Tonight's training was to practice the stability of her arms. Before Ye Jian could put down her schoolbag, she hurried to the training room, where Principal Chen had been waiting for her for a long time.

"It's already been a week since your exams ended. So, which course are you thinking to take." "Huh, which course? I don't know. Maybe I should try for foreign studies." " It's your choice whether you want to study here or abroad but think carefully." 

"Mom, I will study abroad. I will also do part time job there and you don't have to worry about my expenses." " It's not about the expenses, we have earned enough so you don't have to worry about it. So you have thought about it properly right." "Yes, mom. I will do IeLTs and try for Australia." "I have a friend who runs an institue for such studies. Lets go tomorrow and consult with him". "Ok, mom."

Simran called her friends and asked them about their classes. Almost everyone had taken preparation classes to study for medical course. " Hmm, everyone is preparing to study here. But I don't want to study medical course at all. I don't want to give heavy burden to my brain." Simran thinks for a while and then goes to sleep.

Next day,
"Hello Simran, I am your mother's friend, John. Nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you too, sir." John explains about the study class and the benefits of foreign study to simran.
Simran then daily went to the study class for 5  weeks. "Finally, my class is completed, now the only thing left to do is to give exams."

"Simran, maybe you should try for exams here. You are talented Why don't you try for  medical courses too." "Huh.. what are you saying i don't wanna study here and medical courses run from morning to evening..I want to enjoy as much as possible.Also, i even haven't gone to study classes for medical exams." " I know that you had studied very hard in high school so you want to enjoy now but I think you should try for it." Simran thinks for a while "Hahaha.. I don't want to Akks. Anyways thanks for your suggestion."

Simran is a nursing student. The story describes about her daily life , her experiences, growth and hardships during her student life.

He had also considered playing the harmonica at primary school music class the same as Iyre-playing, which was even more absurd.
Wonderful! Now he had to spend all his spare time at Teacher Rong's house.
Time flew by. Busy people always felt that days speeded by. In October, the TV play "The Legendary Swordsman" finished its final editing, but it was just a simple page in Qin Guan's busy life. He turned that page easily. Qin Guan refused all other small parts in TV shows and films. 
John kept sending him emails from the other side of the ocean. He sent him four emails a month. He would occasionally share interesting fashion news and trends from Europe and the US.
As Qin's best foreign friend (which was what he called himself), he was preparing Qin Guan for the frontline of the fashion industry.
Actually, Qin Guan wanted to tell him that no Chinese model could get a work visa. 
There were more shows and opportunities overseas though, and many Chinese models would work abroad illegally with tourist visas. If they were invited to release conferences of top brands, their social status soared when they returned to China.
Long after the Capital Fashion Week, Cabben sent a notice to Sister Xue about the accident backstage. They also invited Qin Guan to their next show in China.
It was a compensation in disguise, which they would both benefit from. 
The nine brands of the Fashion Week had all become long-term clients of Sister Xue’s. Qin Guan turned down several offers in other provinces and focused on Beijing.
The KTV club was flourishing.
The two tough guys knew it would take them at least two years to get their capital back.
The three small shops were phenomenally profitable though, which aroused Qin Guan's desire to make money that way.
The "Daming Palace", which he had become famous for, had been replaced by the hit show "Legend of Dagger Lee". Similarly, the leading actor’s classic hairstyle and handsome looks had attracted another group of crazy girls.
Fans were always forgetful. Except for some loyal fans stuck on Qin Guan, most girls had been attracted by the charming, dagger-wielding man.
Qin Guan seldom showed his face, except during shows. His harvest those six months were Teacher Rong’s lessons and his full pockets.
In the past, Qin Guan had only been interested in his figure, not his spirit. After being trained by the good tutor though, he had changed a lot. 
People always said that nobility could be cultivated in three generations, but Qin Guan was absorbing manners that should have been fostered in childhood.
He had become a gentleman by then. His movements had become as elegant as paintings, and there was a lingering charm in his gestures and expressions.
Cong Nianwei’s reflection was the best encouragement for him. When they stayed alone, she would get lost in thought as she looked at her educated boyfriend.

Callea kept of shoving spoonful of food into her mouth because she couldn't think of gross and scary things during dinner to negate the captivating view of Deive's smile at her while they were eating. She just focused on eating a lot to her deep frustration.

"Hmmm ... this will ruin my diet. Homecooked meals make forget about discipline in food," Deive moaned after slurping bulalo or beef stew bone.

"Food is supposed to be devoured and enjoyed," Callea assured.

"I'm in trouble with my gym instructor. This bulalo is to die for."

"Marina cooked that one."

When she took Marina under her roof, she saw her potential in her cooking. She was so good that even just a simple vegetable soup could taste gourmet-ish. That was why she had fun teaching her her grandmother's recipe and some recipe of her own.

"She's good. How long have she been here with you? "asked the young man.

"Two years."

"Why did you get her as your helper?" he asked casually.

Her eyes became sharp. "Marina is not a hired help. She's a friend. She is my companion."

"Really?" he asked with disbelief.

She tightly held the steak knife and pressed her lips. What was he trying to imply? That Marina should not be her friend because she was a hunchback? Was she stooping low in his opinion?

So Deive was no different from the cruel people outside. They judge people base on their appearance and now on substance. She loathed superficial people. Marina was a good person. Why should people judge her because of her deformity? As if she wished to be born a hunchback. Too bad. Marina thought Deive was a nice guy.

Deive looked alarmed and stopped eating. "Hey! Don't get me wrong. I do not judge your friendship with Marina. But it is just you two in this huge mansion. What if some robbers decided to come here? Who will protect you?" His concern looked real.

"Thanks for the concern, but no one would dare come to this place.

It helped that people thought her home was a haunted house home. It was so notorious that even thieves won't set foot on the place.  It would be difficult for them to take large antique furniture in the mansion. It was not easy to steal. There are no precious heirloom or money there. Everything she needed was arranged by her grandfather - from paying the utility bills to supplies. She also knew that  her grandfather placed guards to watch over the mansion. She was okay with that as long as they remained invisible and won't interfere with her life. 

Callea sighed with relief. It was comforting to know that he was not judging Marina. Marina was her friend. She won't allow anyone to hut her friend.

"According to your grandfather, you don't leave the mansion at all.  What do you do when you're cooped up here?" he asked with curiosity.

"I have online classes. I am taking up Creative writing. Because I like to make graphics novels. The old books and the library helped me enrich my imagination. I am also working with several novels. So I have a lot in my hands. "

She didn't mention that she was a glowing graphics horror novelist. Her published graphic novels had followers on only in the Philippines but also in other countries. Her publisher Philippine-based only but was able to get other readers abroad. Thanks to the Internet.

But she used a pen name to hide her identity. Only her publisher knew her information. While she was a mysterious artist to the rest of the world.

"What are you currently working on? Romance? Fiction? Political satire? "

She smiled sheepishly. "I will tell you once it is published." She was not comfortable showing it to someone else once her works were still raw. Even in Marina was forbidden to see it. It was included in her eccentricities as an artist. "How about you? You work for Hontiveros Coco Industries you, right? "

"I used to work for our family business. Not anymore," he informed her with a sad voice.

"Then what do you do now?"

She shrugged nonchalantly. There was also nothing she could do because her grandfather wants her to marry him. Even if he was a terrorist, she would marry him if that was the only way to ensure to get the mansion.

"If  its okay with you too eat the sweet potato tops and other vegetables in our backyard, then I am cool with it."

His rich laughter echoed inside the house. She was stunned. Suddenly there was life and light inside the mansion that had not been heard for a long time.

"Wow! So it was like an old, dusty pirate ship like the one on Pirates of the Carribean?" Callea's eyes sparkled when she thought of the skeletons of dead pirates rising from the depths of the water to wreak havoc to the world. There were underwater treasures guarded by a giant monster. It was exciting! They finally had something in common.

Deive shook his head.   "It would be an elegant floating hotel. I really want to travel the world when on board the ship. I think it is cool. " It presents the palms. "Do you want to go with me when we married?"

She looked at his stretched hand. It was a splendid invitation for any normal, starry-eyed woman who was in for a romance with a handsome man.

I and my best friend Margie Rose Domingo are walking to the school ground trying to head our way home. I swear I feel so tired and stressed after that long remedial exam given by our professor since he said that our records are hanging low so all his class stayed late just to comply. The whole school surroundings are now starting to darken but few students are also heading home. 
 
"Wow! I can't believe sir did it again. It's already late see, it's already 6:10 and I'm so tired." I said as I fixe my shoulder bag into my right shoulder, I simply look at my friend beside me seeing her also worn out face.
 
"Yap talks about much too much reminders for next semester. Did you take that form they had given us?" my best friend and partner in many crazy things Margie Rose Domingo asks as I just nod and looks at the trail going to the main road.
 
"Well, what can I say? They must be worried we might transfer to another schools. I am starting to get pressured by this course's subjects. The teachers are giving us too expensive projects and such. It's too stressing for me." I said with a deep sigh of weariness while I rub my aching neck.
 
"Forget that, I'm starving. Can we stop for food?" said Rose while she rubs her stomach that made me and her to laugh. 
 
"Say, whoever had the lowest grade in Creative writing shall treat for our meal." Rose said while winking at me, our teacher in that subject is a terror so I bet our grades are hanging.
 
"Game! That's our deal. Make sure you have extra money there alright." I said jokingly while smirking as we both take our class cards in our bags.
 
"Okay, as we agreed the one with a lowest grade shall pay. On the count of three we shall show our class card." Rose said and I nod thinking that I can pay since I have some extra money with me if ever I lose.
 
We both count into three then show our class cards making Rose grunt upon seeing my grade. I smile in triumph seeing that I have an 87 on my creative writing while 86 on Rose' making me do the victory dance we both usually do.
 
"Alright! A deal is a deal no back outs." I said as Rose sigh then smiles nodding.
 
"No problem." Rose said making me look at her in surprise.
 
"A-Are you sure. Don't tell me you got paid with your part time job in that CD store?" I said looking at my hard working friend who has a part time job on the CD store where I usually hang out just to accompany her.
 
"Hmnn yap. Don't worry about it." Rose said making me sigh knowing that my friend is working none stop because of her mother's medication. 
 
We are walking on the side walk when my cellphone starts to ring. I immediately open my bag and take my cellphone out just to look at it in surprise upon seeing my father's caller Id that made me furrow my eyebrows. I reluctantly slides the answer button somehow I don't know why but I feel so nervous, I slowly place my cellphone on my right ear.
 
"Hello pa." I said waiting for him to speak.
 
When I hear what he say I place my cellphone back into my pocket then looks at my friend looking so apologetic.  Rose look at me wondering while I shake my head looking so dismayed.
 
"What's wrong?" Rose said as she looks at me.
 
"Sorry Rose I have to head back home as soon as possible. They said there is something important they need to tell me. Let's eat out next time. I feel bad since this is our last day together." I said as I look at Rose really dismayed.
 
"Too bad, it's already semester break and the school will be on emergency break making it 3 months of break. We won't see each other again for that long. Are you going back to your province straightaway?" Rose said as we continue walking towards the jeep's station.
 
"I don't know; it's just a little bit weird why my parents are here this late without telling me earlier that they will be here. Something must have come up. I'll text you if ever we can get a chance to eat out.�� I sadly said before I wave my friend goodbye. 
 
"Okay, call or text me okay." Rose waves back towards me on the window of the jeep after she sits on the jeep.
 
As I quietly sit on the jeep I start think as to why my parents are here this late and are waiting for me at my uncle Oliver's house. I wonder why they ask me to head home as soon as possible, that I should immediately head to my uncle Oliver's house and not to the boarding house I am staying which is just beside my uncle's house. The tone of my father's voice made me really nervous. He seems to be so sad while I speak to him a while ago. When I arrive at the gate of Uncle Oliver's house I see an expensive car parked into uncle's frond yard, I sigh then I enter the gate quietly.
 
"Odd, do they have a guest today? This is my first time seeing a car like this visiting uncle. Not to mention it is already late. For a guest to be here on a time like this they must be someone close but I never seen this car before." I said in wonder as I look closely to that expensive looking black car.
 
I slowly climb the stairs towards my uncle's porch and then I stop in front of the door. I sigh while I stand near the door of my uncle's house, I am still deciding if I will knock or just press that darn door bell. I don't know why but I feels so nervous, like something ominous is about to happen. Somewhat, I feel so uneasy. I take a deep breath and slowly knock. The door opens revealing my elementary crush, Michael Adamson. He has this sun tanned skin, black clean cut hair, 6'4 height, muscular built, gray eyes and reddish lips. He is what I call a sun tan god.
 
"Hi. Uhmnn Anna this uhmnn warn you.... I-I just want to warn you. B-be ready for anything that will about to happen. Come in." Michael said as he steps aside to let me in. 
 
I feel so nervous most especially when he said that. The way he said it sound like trouble is about to come.
 
"O-kay.... what is going on?" I ask still confused to what he just said, this is the first time Michael talk to me first but the sound of his hoarse voice made me very nervous.
 
"J-Just be ready, because everything you know is about to change." He said with an awkward smile.
 
I am confused upon hearing what he said. This made me even nervous and uneasy, my relationship with Michael ever since elementary is so cold and yah! Nothing at all, we never talked to each other normally. Even from the time he came to stay with my uncle for college and that we see each other every day since we are walking on the same places every time, yet we never have shared a very interesting conversation at all. We seem to feel awkward with each other's presence thus the cold ice we feel every time one is near.
 
"Ah, Michael. W-what do you mean by that? A-are my parents in here?" I ask trying to hide my blushing face and that nervousness I am feeling. 
 
He smiles and signs me towards the kitchen so I now got my answer to where my parents are. 
 
"Th-They have been waiting for you in there. Ahmnnn Anna, good luck." He said making my face burn but at the same time my heart beats fast. 
 
I don't know if it's because Michael talks to me casually for the first time or that he smiled handsomely OR for something else?
 
"R-Right, thanks." I just said acting cool about it.
 
Michael closes the door and he walks towards the sofa right at the living room and sits beside Casper and Ian. Casper, Ian, and Nina are watching a movie; those 3 are my Uncle Oliver's children and my really unsocial cousins but they are cool when you get to be open up with them. Michael on the other hand is related to my Uncle Oliver's family because Michael's father is distant relative of my Uncle Oliver's wife, Aunt Cedes. And when Michael's father died my aunt take him into their house to help him study and she pays for Michael's studies in exchange he must stay to Uncle Oliver's house and help in his shop. Aunt Cedes is abroad so we seldom see her during our stay here.
 
"Anna dear, is that you? Come on here at the kitchen we have been waiting for you." I hear my uncle's call from the kitchen and since their kitchen and living room table are separated with a wall divider, I can't see who are there or if my parents are there. 
 
I take a deep breath when I see my niece Clayra running towards me and then keep on pulling my bag so I had no choice but to let my cute 4 years old niece have it. 
 
"Careful Clayra." I said as I watch how she is struggling to carry my bag towards the sofa where the others are sitting.
 
I slowly walk towards the kitchen divider as Clayra sit on the sofa next to Michael and starts to ransack my bag. I instantly turn red at the thought that Michael is looking into the content of my bag. My so messy and full bag, not to mention all my class cards are there so he can see my not so well but doing fine grades. I see that Clayra found what she is looking for when she stops looking into my shoulder bag and left it scattered on the sofa beside Michael. 
 
"Too messy." I utter almost a whisper looking at my niece's mess.
 
I shake my head and sighs upon seeing all my papers, class cards and notebooks scattered there while Clayra sit happily as she opens the candy she found. Michael looks at me and then he smiles, he starts to pick all my stuff and carefully return it into the bag. When he looks at me I mouth him my thanks before I take one last deep breath before I continue heading towards the kitchen just to see my parents and my 3 siblings, my elder sister Arsey the mother of my niece, my brother Ezzar and my sister Daisy sitting on the wide dining table together with my uncle Oliver and 3 new faces. 
 
"Hel-lo." I softly said as I nervously look at them, I somehow feel uneasy about this.
 
There is this lovely lady who turns to look at me and starts to cry. She has this dark hairs and fair skin; she is wearing a blue dress while her hair is in messy bun. Beside the lady is a man who is patting the lady's back as his eyes gazes at me, weird. The man has this black hair and a tan skin; he is also wearing a formal suit, those types we usually see worn by business men. On the other side of the man is another man, a man in his 50's and is also looking at me..... so weird. In front of the man is a black bag or in business term, a brief case.
 
"Oh don't just stand there dear. Come and sit so we can start... explaining things." My mother Mary Marcelo said sadly who is sitting beside my father August Marcelo. 
 
I sigh before I walk towards an empty seat just in front of the 3 visitors. I slowly sit and notice that their eyes are all towards me. My heart starts to pound heavily. What trouble did I cause this time? Who are these 3 weird visitors who look at me as if they are looking into a food? But despite of my thundering heartbeat and nervousness I have to act cool about this.
 
"U-uhmmnn what is going on?" I manage to say as I look around the table to look at my family's faces.
 
Why do I feel so uneasy about all of these? I look at my family and I can feel this dark sad aura surrounding them making me scared and nervous. But when I look at the two new faces in front of me, I feel this uncertain warmth in my heart... so weird. To my observation they must be couple seeing how the handsome 30's looking man hugs the woman who is also so pretty and looking like in her 30's to. The way they are looking at me makes me feel so warm, happy, nervous, and scared also not to mention I feel like vomiting all at ones. Who are they and why is the atmosphere feel so tight? Why does my parents look so sad and distressed?
 

Every one of us must have watch or read any fairy tale books in our entire life. Fairy tale story like: Snow white, sleeping beauty and our famous Cinderella. It must be great to live in a rich life where everything you want is given or provided, a life with servants at our disposal, and a life with a handsome prince charming ready to save us. But.....THIS certain story is not like any fairy tale story we had read and watched. This story is about being brave, being you and being who you want to be.

At the end of June, all the universities in the Huaxia Empire were entering final exam season. As a first-year Master's student, although Gu Nianzhi's professional exams were in the form of essays, her elective courses were still normal exams. Luckily, she had a photographic memory, so exams were never a challenge for her. However, she had taken too many courses, so she still had to study late into the night in her dorm. Ma Qiqi passed the phone to her and covered her face to whisper, "Hurry up and read it! Oh my God! The exchange students are so open nowadays!"
"Open?" Gu Nianzhi was perplexed and looked down to read the top trending headline on Weibo: Fatal Threesome! Young Female Exchange Student Perishes Abroad!
Gu Nianzhi was stunned. The article sounded just like a bad tabloid! 
"Are you on fake Weibo?" Gu Nianzhi half-smiled at Ma Qiqi and said sarcastically, "The high-class and high-income bourgeoisie on Weibo would really have such a trashy article rank number one?"
"Humph! You don't know, eh? This article has all the elements of going viral!" Ma Qiqi had suddenly become an experienced analyst on Weibo trends. "Look. Young female exchange student, threesome, perished abroad! How can the bourgeoisie not be shocked?!"
Gu Nianzhi snickered. "I don't understand how you Weibo net idols can say this has elements of a viral news article when it's obviously a trashy tabloid piece. Can't you just admit that you're a commoner?"

"I'm also a commoner." Gu Nianzhi giggled. "I love the world of commoners and common things!" 
She pinched Ma Qiqi back, and they joked together and read the article as they walked back to the dorm.
"See? This is what the local German prosecutor said: The Huaxia female exchange student was having a threesome with this German couple, but they took it too far and she died…" Ma Qiqi shook her head with a sigh. "How desperate was she…?"
Gu Nianzhi noticed something strange. "What did you say? What prosecutor? He really said that?"

She saw that the article had been posted by a German news outlet and translated. Gu Nianzhi wanted to see if the original German article said the same thing because domestic reposts of foreign articles weren't always translated accurately. 
Ma Qiqi looked it up. "I don't understand German, but it must be from this newspaper. It's a newspaper from the city where the case occurred."
Gu Nianzhi took a look and memorized the Chinese translation of the name of the newspaper, then used her phone to translate it back into German to look up the original German article. She really did find the unassuming German article in the local newspaper's website and saw that the local police's website also reposted it. Using translation software on the article, she found that it was practically the same as the Weibo translation.
According to the prosecutor representing the local police, the female exchange student's classmates reported that she had been missing for two days, and when the police searched for her, they found her corpse in a forest behind an abandoned building. She had numerous injuries and was also disfigured. The police had only been investigating for a few days when a German couple turned themselves in and claimed that the Huaxia female exchange student had willingly had a threesome with them but had unfortunately died…

Also, the local police station and this newspaper—how can they boldly post such slander against the deceased's reputation? It's misleading news."
"Not only are they boldly posting it, but it also became the top trending Weibo post." Ma Qiqi pitied this innocent female exchange student who had lost her life. "How horrible."
Gu Nianzhi thought about the incident timeline and pouted. "This is obviously torture and murder. How can it be fabricated into a fatal threesome? To hell with it! They will face karma for saying such cold-blooded things!"
