But, her teacher is what scares her more than this new world. What secrets and schemes did he use to get her here?

The story of a high school freshman and her rise to domination.

When Zhang Lisheng saw his girlfriend's frown, he could not help but chuckle. Stroking Tina's supple golden hair, he said, "Tina, the only pursuit of mine after becoming a wizard is to obtain great omniscient power so that I can enjoy great freedom. All the hardships and obstacles I'm going through, along with the killings and battling that I'm doing, does not give me pain, but it gives me joy instead. You don't have to look at me like I'm other ordinary men…"
"Baby, we have a gap between culture and gender. If you say something that I don't understand, you won't be able to comfort me."
"Is that so? Let me use the simplest words then." The young man shrugged. "I'm not like any ordinary men. I don't care what other men would think if they have a girlfriend like you, but I only know that you're the most qualified lover in the world in my heart."
"Aww baby, that is the sweetest affirmation I have ever heard in my life. I love you..." The girl's disappointment was swept away instantly. She hugged Zhang Lisheng and shouted happily.
The two of them hugged and kissed each other for a while. Without warning, Zhang Lisheng's phone broke the sweetness in the air.
"It's Charlie. I haven't contacted him since I came back. Looks like he must be calling me regularly at this hour," The young man hastily took his phone out of his pocket and gave it a careful inspection. He shrugged at Tina helplessly and picked up the call. Immediately, Charlie's startled voice resonated from the phone, "Oh, boss! I finally got in touch with you."
"Yeah! You really called at the right time…" Zhang Lisheng answered in an odd tone while leaning onto the back of the driver's seat. "Charlie, let me guess. The reason you keep calling me in haste must be because of the Noah Project, right? Actually, I'm also planning on calling you to tell you to hold onto the plan of making the Shrimp B1 Island into the 51st state."
"Yes, boss. Right now, Congress has been arguing a lot because of the immigration arrangements of the Noah World, so they really can't attend to other issues now," Charlie said, visibly relieved. "There's another important thing; our LS Group has appeared in the first-batch list of companies the federal government invited to participate in the Noah Project. They provided a two-billion-dollar interest-free five-year loan. They also invited us to build an urban-level ecological slaughterhouse at a scale similar to that of a city with a million population in the first 24 immigrant oases."
"A scale of a million-population city?" Upon hearing so, Zhang Lisheng calculated sensitively, "24 times one million is equal to 24 million. Just how large is the US population? They want to migrate one-tenth of the population right away on the first batch?"
"Of course, it's impossible, Boss! Even if they can find more than 20 million US citizens willing to migrate to the Noah World, the federal finances will not be able to afford this level of urban construction. What the government wanted was to build some relatively cheap infrastructure in one go."
"Ah, I understand now. Okay, Charlie, since the federal government has invited LS Group, let's do it then! Go get a few experts to calculate how long we could complete this project and call me after that."
"I've calculated it, Boss. The overall project will take about a year, but we can complete the two oases nearest to Earth within four months."
"Great! By that time, I'll go and start up the slaughterhouse in Noah World," Zhang Lisheng casually replied, "Four months? I remember that four months just so happen to be the maturing time for a fast-growing beef cattle. Come to think of it, building a livestock farm in the oases and then slaughtering the said livestock right away on the spot is quite a creative idea. Hopefully, the federal government can get what they wish."
"Oh, we won't have cattle there, Boss. I believe that if the immigrants in Noah World wanted to eat meat, then they'll have to rely on the drought-resistant lambs or camels from the Middle East. Anyway, I won't bother your time anymore. Please convey my apology to your girlfriend as well. Goodbye!" Charlie chuckled and hung up the phone.
"What a clever old fox!" Zhang Lisheng threw his mobile phone aside and wore his clothes as he smiled at Tina, "Let's go to the hot spring bath now and go watch a movie later, shall we?"
When the girl heard so, she replied sweetly, "Of course, I only have one request, though. Let's not have our dinner in a restaurant. We can just go eat some burgers and hot dogs like ordinary couples when we're hungry later."
The young man agreed to such a request right away. Just like this, both of them first went to Manhattan's famous artificial hot spring club, the New York Prism Lake, that was said to be built by imitating the mineral content of the hot springs in Yellowstone National Park. After having a hot bath, they watched three box-office sci-fi films about conquering the demons within the Shrimp World No. 1 in succession while eating popcorn.
When the movie ended, they bought a bunch of burgers, hot dogs, and Coke from the theater hall and chowed down on all the food. Finally, Zhang Lisheng sent Tina back to the only serene countryside villa in the Upper West Side. After kissing Tina goodbye in front of the fence, he watched his girlfriend disappearing into the dark courtyard on a golf cart and ended this perfect date night.
At this time, cold raindrops began to pour down from the sky again. It was already close to midnight, and the young man returned to the SUV. After pondering for a while, he went to the nearest hotel closest to his house to stay, and after having his breakfast in the morning, he quickly went back to his home in Brooklyn.
When the youngest twins, Gill and Harry, of the Lavin Family, who shared the same mother with Zhang Lisheng, went to college, Lili would often be at home alone.
Once she heard the sound of the door opening, she who was busy making minced meat stuffing in the open kitchen looked up. That was when she saw her son that she had not seen for a long time striding into the door. Joyfully, she went up to embrace the young man and kissed his cheeks before saying excitedly, "Baby, you're back!"
"I'm back, mom!" Zhang Lisheng eagerly replied, "What's that important thing that you mentioned on the phone?" 
"There's no need to be in such a hurry, baby. Come, sit down first, and I'll tell you slowly." Lili took Zhang Lisheng's hand and walked to the chair in the kitchen table before pressing his shoulder down to ask him to sit. Turning around, she continued what she had left off in the kitchen. "It's like this, baby. Do you still remember the book that I've written about the education of children in new immigrant families?"
"Of course, I remembered that when I advised you to do some charity to kill some of your free time when we last talked about it, you've mentioned before that you wanted to write this kind of book. I was planning to help you publish it once you finished writing it and give it to those immigrant families for free."
"Aww, baby. Thank you for having such a thought! Actually, the book is already published now." When Lili heard that her son could still remember this matter so well, a happy smile appeared on her face before continuing, "It's precisely because of the publication of this book that I've received an invitation."
"What invitation?"
"A principal post in a public elementary school."
"You want to change your job, mom?" Upon hearing this word, Zhang Lisheng's hoisted heart relaxed right away. Even though he did not show an unconcerned expression on his face, his tone was slightly indifferent, "The chief student advisor of a middle school and a principal of an elementary school? Oh, these two posts are the same, so I think, well, you can just choose according to your preference…"

Such age could still be called 'young' in this modern society, so he could only change his words and said, "How about Uncle Lavin then? What would happen to him if you go to Noah World?"
"With the qualifications of your Uncle Lavin, he can apply to go to the oasis of Noah World to become a town sheriff. I've talked to him already, and he's willing to do so."

"I've indeed made my choice, baby. The work in Lowbige Junior High is no longer challenging to me, while the Noah World's oasis is a brand new start. "Momo... hurry up!!.... we're going to be late!!" Yelled Linda, as she rushed towards the newly constructed building within the school premises.
Little Momo and her, were on their way towards the chemistry laboratory.
Today, they were taking Chemistry 3.
Ever since the beginning of April, they had been taking 6 main courses:
•Biology 1 (Classes of living organisms)
•Math 4 (simple variable math, like find X)
•Chemistry 2
•Chemistry 3 (introduction to lab science)
•Physics 1
•Phyno 4
Apart from these ones, they also had other fun and creative courses that occurred once a week... like:
•Arts & Craft 1
•Ethics & Morality 1 
•Health & Hygiene 1
•Literature 1
•Music 1
• And Physical Education 
Another surprising thing for the students was that this year, the school had created a Student Council body based on the votes from the students.
Also, each class had a class monitor and deputy class monitor that's entrusted in assisting the teachers in class, aiding the weak students, roll call... and so on.
No matter what amongst the 2 leaders, one had to be female and the other male.
Generally, once the winners for both the Male Group and female group emerged.... the students would then vote between the 2, and choose who should be the class monitor or deputy class monitor.
For the biology class, the students were taught the basics like: cells, microbes, plant systems, animal systems, invertebrates and vertebrates.
In short, they were taught about all the classes of living organisms.
Of course for Math 4, they focused on simple variable math... like 5x=10, find X.
In that class, they focused on understanding one to two variable equations..... which were usually linear equations.
For chemistry 2, the students would still focused on reactions, atoms and so on.... but now with the use of calculators, they had begun learning about calculating molecular weight and so on.
Of course just so that the students could breathe a little, music, literature, physical education and arts & craft were essentially a must.
In short, this semester was a busy one.
Today, Linda and little Momo were heading towards the Chemistry Lab in the new school building.
Once they got in, they immediately climbed the stairs until they arrived at the 3rd floor... where they were greeted with a large group of students outside the lab.
The area was bustling with busy students.
Friends greeted each other with hugs or playful punches, while others had their eyes glued on their books as they continued doing assignments that were due in the next class.
Some already had their lab coats and safety wears on, while others were busy wearing theirs on now.
In fact, everyone was doing their own thing as they waited for the class to begin.
Instantly, the duo opened their bags and quickly pulled out their neatly folded lab coats and safety items.
For this class, everyone was required to wear their lab coats, gloves, rubber boots, and goggles.
Linda looked at her watch and knew that it would soon be time for them to go in.
And right on queue, Mother Kim and teacher Gophen opened the lab doors from instead and ushered the students in.
"Morning Teacher Kim!"
"Morning teacher Gophen!"
"Morning teacher...."

Everyone greeted their teachers, as they walked in and immediately found their usual spot.
The Laboratory was massive, with several working slabs, cupboards with equipments stored in them, and a small storage room at its front.
Linda and Momo immediately spotted their other group members, and rushed over to join them.
Ever since the beginning of the semester, they had been put in groups of 5.
Apparently, these people would be their lab partners throughout the entire semester.
"Alright.... before we begin, you all know the drill.
In front of each group, are 5 question sheets.
You all have 7 minutes to answer them.
Remember, no cheating and no copying.... these small tests make up 20% of your final grade.
Now.... Begin!!"
Linda immediately flipped her question sheet and got to work.
For this Chemistry 3 course, they had 1 theory class on Tuesdays, and 1 lab session on Thursdays.
And at the beginning of each lab session, they would have mini quizzes that would test them on what they had learnt in their Tuesday classes.
Chemistry 3 was a course based on Laboratory work, so they had to know about the equipments in front of them, safety lab hazards and so on.
In fact... Ever since the students knew that these questions were 20%, they had taken them seriously
Linda filled her name and school number on the question sheet, before proceeding to answer the questions.
The questions were straight to the point, and easy to answer if one was paying attention during lectures.
And just like that, time flew by quickly... 7 minutes later, the quizzes collected back by teacher Gophen.
And the papers were collected, Mother Kim began distributing the Lab manual sheets for today's experiment.

"Alright.... before we begin our Laboratory experiment, let's recap on what Teacher Winnie has been you all in Chemistry 2." Mother Kim said.
The students immediately took out their books and writing materials.... While others flipped the pages of their books to the last pen-filled page.
It was important for the students to know about what reactions they were going to perform today, hence it was good for them to recap on what they were previously taught.
"So as usual, let's look back on what you all have been learning so far.
I need a few examples of chemistry around us... anyone?" Mother Kim asked, as she waited for the students to raise their hands.
"Yes Filipa?" She said, while pointing at a little girl at the front of the room.
"Air is essentially chemistry, because it's constantly undergoing a chemical change.
For example, we breathe out carbon dioxide and take in oxygen... so air is always changing.
Also... air undergoes changes whenever smoke is released in to the atmosphere by burning, hence it's part of Chemistry."
"Correct!!.
Any other examples of Chemistry around us?" Kim asked.
"Our bodies."
"The ocean"
"When we make bread."

"Christine, allow me to tell you who I really am," Corinna eagerly opened the conversation. "I was a bullying victim too."

"Really?" I asked Corinna. "Tell me what happened."

Corinna started off by narrating how she was cruelly treated by her own classmates in school as a fifth grader. 

In her recollection, Corinna tearfully revealed that she was constantly ignored and rebuked by her classmates while attempting to join their group. They saw Corinna as an 'ugly duckling' that does not have what it takes to be a lady.

To make matters worse, Charissa's classmates called her a 'disgusting piece of crap' and a 'poor and ugly SOB'. They even went as far as playing an ugly prank on Corinna. 

She recalled one particular moment when one classmate poured a tub of water behind Corinna's back.

"There was this girl who sneaked from behind and suddenly dropped a tub of water on me," Corinna said, her eyes leaking with tears. "My uniform and my whole body were so wet and I was so angry and annoyed that I refused to come back to class."

Eventually, with the urging of her class adviser, Corinna reluctantly made her way back to class. But the damage had been done.

After only a few months, Corinna's parents came to school and told the principal that they would withdraw her from school without further notice. While the principal eventually kicked out the offender responsible for the cruel prank on Corinna, she still left school anyway, never to return again.

"Christine, I felt so severely depressed at the time that taking my life became an unexpected option," she looked back at that emotional moment. "I wanted to have a decent education so bad, but the demands of social life snatched all the joy away."

At this point Corinna started to cry. Her tears melted some of the black eye-shadow off her eyes.

After hugging Corinna and telling her to unleash all of her pent-up emotion, she continued on with her story. This time the mood went from gloom to cheerful in a matter of minutes.

Determined to give her a second chance, Corinna's parents transferred her to a different school which was not far from the campus she previously attended. This time, however, she managed to fit in well with her new classmates.

"Upon moving to a new school, I thought I would receive a frosty reception," Corinna wistfully recalled. "Instead, my new classmates were more than willing to hang out and talk to me, and I enjoyed every moment of it."

Corinna's new classmates were also girls who were two years younger than her. But unlike her former classmates, they were not concerned about being beautiful and elegant; instead, they only aimed for academic excellence and nothing else.

Corinna thrived in her new surroundings and she eventually finished in the top 20 of her class in grade school. The same can also be said in high school where Corinna ended in the top 20 as well.

"Those were some of my best moments I ever experienced," Corinna related to me. "My new classmates helped me work hard on my education, and I got rewarded with it."

Corinna also excelled in debate competitions during high school. She was also a two-time poetry and declamation winner.

Still, not even a new environment prevented Corinna from escaping her troubled past. On a few occasions after class, Corinna went face to face with her former classmates who continued to taunt her at every turn.

"I still have nightmares from my old school every now and then," Corinna recalled. "But I largely ignored it because those new classmates wanted me to concentrate more on my studies and nothing else."

When Corinna entered college, she became determined to leave her troubled past behind. Corinna cut her hair short, inked some tattoos and began to dress in goth-inspired clothing.

Corinna and I went to her condominium unit thinking that she would change clothes. Instead, she took off her black shirt for a moment to reveal some tattoos and a navel ring.

Corinna's upper back tattoo is of her own name written in a Gothic-style lettering. She then showed me two more of them: a broken red heart near her right breast and three stars on her left abdomen.

"Gosh, you really changed a lot," I remarked on Corinna's personal transformation. "You went from nice to naughty this quick."

"Actually Christine I'm still a pretty nice person deep down," Corinna responded. "People sometimes misunderstood me for my choice of clothing, but who cares? I'm comfortable with my choice of outfits."

After putting on her shirt back, Corinna went to the balcony to smoke. Despite offering me one or two sticks of cigarettes, I refused her offer and told her of my dislike towards cigarette smoke.

Shortly after, we went back to campus and continued our conversation. Just then, Corinna encountered Michelle fresh from basketball practice.

"Who's this girl?" Michelle remarked about Corinna. "She looked more unconventional than most other girls."

"Michelle, don't get me wrong. This lady always wanted to look like a rebel because that's who she really is," I answered back. "In fact she is my classmate from creative writing class. Her name is Corinna." 

After she had politely introduced herself to Michelle, the three of us strolled leisurely through the hallway. But it was already 11:10 a.m. and Corinna had a class to attend.

"Christine, sorry but I have to go," Corinna announced to me. "I have class coming up in a few."

"Oh well," I replied earnestly. "We can communicate some other time, perhaps in class tomorrow. What can you say?"

"Why not?" Corinna smilingly assured me before walking gently to her classroom. "See you soon then."

After Corinna departed from our sights, Michelle and I were on our way to a different class. But Michelle still harbored personal doubts over her.

"Christine, I'm unsure about Corinna, though," Michelle wondered bitterly. "She acted very nice, but something about her ticked me off."

"Don't worry about it," I assured a doubtful Michelle. "It was her conscious decision to dress like that, but she's still a remarkably kind person to talk along with."

"Hope she stays like that," Michelle reluctantly accepted.

It was off to media ethics class for us. Yet in spite of my continued assurance regarding Corinna, Michelle remains uncertain of her.

Christine, a 22-year-old college student, decides to open a blog and write a story about her tormented past.

As a young child, Christine was constantly abused and mocked by her classmates for her nearsightedness and portly complexion. To make matters worse, she was left to live with her aunt after her mother was assigned to work overseas and her father became too preoccupied in his work as a doctor.

This story is about a young woman's pursuit towards positivity and joy amid these turbulent times. For Christine, all she wants now is to face her fears and overcome them one by one.

'Uncle Vinnie, am going to school tomorrow,' Khalayi quipped at the breakfast table. Uncle Vinnie looked at her with a face that seemed to read 'it was about time young lady'. Relieved by her decision, Uncle Vinnie left the breakfast table abruptly to inform the school about the status of her education. Khalayi had attempted to stop him from fussing but he declined by stating that he might as well be done with the preparation before she could change her mind. The week had been one of tug as Uncle Vinnie tried to convince the stubborn 17-year-old to get back to high school and get done with her final year. The 1st term of her final high school year had just begun. Even though she could be considered smart, her school attendance could not be ignored.
 His greatest fear was that her wealth would get into her head at one time and she would decline her school work. Her self-drive impressed him and even though her company wasn't the best, he never had to worry about her grades and school activities. She was among the top 3 students in her school, captain of the football team, and secretary of the Art club. She had won several awards in creative writing. Her only flaw was her assertiveness that reared its head once a while. This had led the school to consider entrusting her with a position as a student leader, to tone down her assertiveness which was applied mainly against the school administration. It was a school custom that tried to curb down trouble-makers by absorbing them as student leaders. Generally, student leaders were never liked due to the fact that they had to side more with the teachers and less with the students. A sort of 'divide and rule' tactic replicated in a tiny system that shapes the workforce.
At one time she had questioned her history teacher about the foundation of the education system which seemed to replicate the colonial master's system. She brought up things like slavery and a colonized mind to question the school leadership system. According to her, absorbing trouble-makers as a student leader was similar to how the colonial masters absorbed some natives as superintendents or chief that reported to them about fellow natives. The teacher was incensed by her inquiry and description. Her opinion was cruelly shut down and branded as a form of rebellion. Another time she argued about the chronological facts of a bible story that her teacher presented, stating that the teacher's fact did not coincide with those in the bible- leaving the teacher livid. All these argumentative episodes were silently suppressed because she was quick to point out that it was an educational discussion and could not be termed as a case of indiscipline. As a result, this and other discussions never made it to Uncle Vinnie's and her grandmother's ears.
To Uncle Vinnie and her grandmother, she was a bubbly and kind girl. However, to the teachers and students, she was a tiny terror sent to torment them. Her innocent looks did not coincide with her energy and sharp tongue. Her two weeks of absence from school had relieved them and they even hoped she would not show up that year. The headmistress felt a headache coming up once she received Uncle Vinnie's call. Her hopes of a peaceful year were dashed. It is just one year, one year of facing off with the little trouble maker. The little episodes of arguments with the teachers, bullying, and incitement of students had not passed her unnoticed. She had had to change the school menu, renovate hostels for students considered of a lower cadre and change the grading system for reasons such as classism as a result of her incitement. The arguments were packaged in a manner that sounded convincing to parents and philanthropic to Uncle Vinnie. Who could believe her if she stated that Khalayi had done it out of boredom and a desire to rile the administration?
To the students, she was an unpredictable tyrant. At one time she was sweet and friendly; other times she was a bully. For her, as long as it suited her situation, you could be a friend or foe, even if the situation was something as shallow as getting a tick out of bullying someone. Her current target was Nasike, a quiet girl who got out of everyone's way and just wanted to live peacefully. That was the order of the day, before the accident and before Nastanje happened. Nastanje relegated this priority to the back of her mind in the 2 weeks that she had been trying to figure her way around all this mystery. She actually liked Khalayi, it was like reincarnated into a character she had never unleashed because her world could never accommodate it. Without the power and money to back her up, she always had to tow the line. Having parents and 5 siblings, she could not afford to add to her parents' trouble. Any form of argument no matter how logical would have been packaged as a rebellion that deserved punishment where the minimal would have been a suspension and the maximum an expulsion. But now, now she had the environment and the opportunity to unleash the wildcat within.
Khalayi's wish wasn't spectacular, just for her to live to the fullest. To live as the person, she always wanted to be, without regret. Nastanje thought it was the easiest wish someone could ever ask her to fulfill.

A backpack was strung on her back and a suitcase dragged through the school gate, glasses covering the naughty glint at the corner of her eyes. She smiled innocently and coolly, disarming the teacher on duty and her class teacher who had been standing by the gate watching the students pour in. The relaxed teacher abruptly jumped into an alert mode seconds later after seeing the smile. That smile was never a good sign, not a good sign at all. The teacher exclaimed in his mind. 
'Let's work hard together during this final year, Sir', Khalayi quipped after greeting the class teacher. The teacher hoped it was school-work work hard and not activism-work work hard. The previous three years had not been enough to steel him through the kind of antics the student he loathed and liked at the same time pulled.

Dull, boring, routine do-gooder. 
'No, am not talking dirty with you now because am in the office and i look innocent and everyone thinks am a good person'

　　Yet again he felt disoriented, and a feeling of panic slowly started creeping up on him once more. However, this time, he quickly suppressed those feelings. He knew that once he let himself fall into panic, he would once again grow tired extremely quickly. He did not know why this was the case, but he could feel the tendrils of exhaustion slowly trying to get a hold of him already.

　　Even thinking such simple thoughts caused him to grow increasingly tired. He quickly tried to get what he knew in order before he succumbed to sleep once more.

　　He knew he had been on a tight schedule, finishing his software by double-checking the code so that he could send it to the company the next day. Being a programmer was hard at a time when AIs could write most of the code by themselves, and the only way to earn a living was to constantly come up with new, creative ways of using the coding language, to differentiate your software from those of the AIs.

　　Creativity was the only field in which AIs had not been able to surpass humans… yet.

　　He remembered being extremely exhausted and anxious while working, when he suddenly felt his heart beat at an irregular rhythm. He felt a sudden sharp pain start in his heart as it clenched tightly, then the unbearable pain shot up, through his spine, and he felt his consciousness start slipping away.

　　He felt death approach him.

　　He could not even make a sound.

　　The only thought in his head was, "Am I going to die? Just like this?"

　　He had not known his parents, for he was an orphan. With no relatives to speak of, and because of the immense societal pressure, he had had to start doing part time since very young. Due to always being preoccupied with putting food on the table and paying for his own education, he had extremely few and distant friends, and as for close friends, he had none. Of course, it was self-evident that he had never been in a relationship of any kind.

　　As his life up to that point had flashed before his eyes, he only found himself in school, university, and work, without any rest at any time. It was understandable why he would feel that life was unfair, trivial, and worthless. As though he had served no purpose, made no impact on anyone or anything.

　　The only feeling he had felt before his consciousness had left him, was indignation.

　　Just recalling what had happened previously had already taken up all of his mental strength. He could no longer keep himself conscious. As the bindings of fatigue fully coiled themselves around him, he once more slipped into a deep slumber.

　　When he next awakened, he no longer felt as disoriented as the previous two times.

　　He quickly got to sorting out his thoughts, for he knew that time was limited, and he had to figure out as much as he could before he succumbed once more to whatever was impairing his stamina so severely.

　　He tried to figure out what had happened that had caused him to suddenly undergo a near death experience.

　　After a while of deliberation, he came to the conclusion that he had most likely had a heart attack due to a lack of sleep, exhaustion due to over-working, and severe anxiety over many days. He suddenly felt concerned about whether he still had the job or not, whether they would still pay him for the software he had made or not, whether all the time and effort spent on programming for that software had been in vain or not…

　　No, he should not think in such a manner.

　　He knew that it was a miracle that he had survived, since he had not been able to make any sound to call for help, and almost no one knew where he lived, much less visited him. But after coming to this conclusion, he was even more puzzled.

　　Why couldn't he open his eyes? Why was he cramped in such a confined space? Why was being cramped for such a long time not uncomfortable? Why did the air he was breathing seem to be so viscous? Why did he have such a low amount of stamina? Why did he not feel any hunger at all?

　　Why?

　　He was far more confused now than before. Getting his thoughts in order had not helped at all. He also still had no idea for how to escape his current predicament. He was far too weak to be able to break through whatever was confining him. He did not know what the future held for him.

　　Was he crippled or disabled in some way due to the accident? How much would it cost to cover the medical fees once he was cured? Would he ever be fully cured?

　　No.

　　Stop.

　　He forcefully stopped himself from thinking.

　　He knew his thoughts were going in circles. Worrying would not do anything helpful in the current situation. He was powerless to do anything, and he had to accept it.

　　His ability to stop his thoughts from going awry was one of his strong suits. He had trained himself in meditation when he had started getting overwhelmed with work during high school, and that had come in very handy on a daily basis since he had been able to relax through it.

　　He let all thoughts fade away from his mind, as though uncovering a veil that he never knew was covering him.

　　Then he let that thought fade away as well.

　　He started progressively going deeper and deeper into nothingness as he let his perceptions slowly fade away layer by layer.

　　After a long, unperceived amount of time, he felt calmer than he had ever felt. Suddenly he felt as though there was a slow and steady warm current washing over him, the feeling was almost imperceptibly faint, but he had felt it. And the moment he noticed it, the slight amount of deviation of his focus caused the feeling to instantly disappear like a phantom.

　　As soon as that faint feeling disappeared, the fatigue struck him so strongly that he immediately lost consciousness.

　　Hello everyone, I'm Shaptarshi Joarder, but you can call me Jovian.

　　I hope everyone enjoyed the start of the story.

　　I'm planning on making this story a very long journey where everyone can follow alongside the MC as he lives his life filled with fun and adventure. This story, while it will still have the occasional dark scenes filled with intensity and intrigue, will most of the time strive to be something to help you relax. It is meant to be a lighthearted but very interesting and fun to read story.

　　This will be my first time writing a story, so I implore everyone to leave comments, both with things I've done right and (especially) with things I've done wrong, so that I can learn from my mistakes and grow.

I was dressed in a simple blue robe. My hair was braided into a fishtail braid. My nails were polished with an improvised nail polish, just a colorless nail polish, to highlight an elite woman who cares for cleanliness and elegance. My shoes matched my dress as well as the accessories that I have on.

A freshly brewed tea with ginger pigments was placed beside me as I readied the table that I'll be using for awhile. I hope they'll bring every book that my brother possess, so I can study well. As far as I know I have only one appointment for today, and that is to accompany and get to know the prince, but it wasn't an obligation.

"Yes young mistress?"

"Bring three ladies along with you, that makes your team consist of five and that is enough for the task of lifting. Go to eldest brother Feng Jiang Min and tell him that I'll borrow all of his history books, and tell him that we will retrieve it now."

"With due respect eldest miss, but the Prime Minister has set a date for you and the crown prince. You are indeed needed to attend this--"

"I never asked for your opinion, have I? Now go and do as you're told, I'll handle the crown prince and my father alone. A marriage is a marriage but as far as I'm concerned, my education is more important than things that are not suppose to be hurried."

I leisurely sat on the mat. All of them hurriedly went to accomplish the task. I wonder when I'll be able to hold a book intended for weapons or cultivation manuals. From her memories, cultivation is one way to judge if a person lives or dies. And from her eyes, I saw how cruel it was for the weak, that's the main reason why she has long depended for her family's power, lining from the military prowess up to the royals of the society. I lifted a feather made pen, and dipped it in its matching ink. Really ancient but interesting. When I was in high school, I usually get the highest marks in MAPEH; Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health. The main reason why I became a doctor was that I was a big fan of Biology. Seems like this will be an advantage for me, so might as well use it in calligraphy. It had been years since I last made a good calligraphic design.

I can be an alchemist, a beast tamer, an armament master or an educator. And of course I could precisely do everything, and be the 'Lady of Court' since I have a lot of time to spend in this second life, that way I'll earn respect from those who ridiculed me. I just need to start cultivating diligently so my Qi energy would leap bounds stronger and higher.

I raised the pen and started writing calligraphic texts on the empty piece of paper. I sketched lines that intersects and even made calligraphic designs. I was too engrossed of what I'm doing that I haven't realized that I've already finished writing a beautiful poem, until someone clapped behind me. My fists clenched in anger, how come I have not noticed that someone sneaked in my chamber?

"I never thought you're so good at making poems or writing calligraphic Chinese characters." My body eventually tensed when I heard a masculine yet melodically sexy voice. I abruptly look at the person's shoes in my peripheral vision, he was wearing the insignia of the palace, no doubt...

Even if I don't look, I knew it is the crown prince I'm talking to.

"Greetings to his Highness, to whom do I owe this visitation?" I answered politely, but guess what, he only chuckled at my response.

"Two, I have never imagined the eldest miss could be so civil and very respectful when she responds, not even in my wildest dreams. And to tell that she's here making calligraphic writings is really amusing." He mocked at me, and I'm annoyed of his own existence.

"With respect to his Highness, I, your lowly subject, can only say that 'change is inevitable, it has no breaks nor no ends' this subordinate is willing to change things around. I hope his Highness won't mind."

"Cut this act young miss Feng, or to whatever you're doing. I don't care about what you think, do or anything. You can never get a man using such 'white lotus' act." His brows were knitted together.

"Well if his Highness won't take it as an offense, then I'd like to request you to leave my premises. I wanted to have a peaceful and quality time alone.

" Before he could respond, 5 lady maids came in front of my door.

"Young miss these are the--" the both of us shifted our gazes at the lady maids whose been carrying tons of books on their hands. I ushered them to come in and lay all the books on the table.

"Report to me" I said, wanting to find out how my beloved twin brother took up the news of his renowned stupid sister intending to borrow books from him.

"Reporting to her ladyship, eldest master Feng Jiang Min was surprised with your order. Prime minister Feng was even there when we asked in your behalf to borrow some books. The prime minister told us to pass you a message, informing her ladyship to take a tour if her ladyship intends to spend time at the chamber of knowledge." I nodded and ushered them to get out of my chamber.

I pickup one of the books and dusted it off. My brother has long finished these books, so I guess he hasn't touched any of these. Too bad these books were of high quality, but he left them to dust.

I've started reading some of the pages in a silent manner. Memorizing historical details and more from it. Completely ignoring the existence of the crown prince who was sitting comfortably at the edge of the bed. When I finished reading the whole book, I get another book and casually sip some tea before continuing.

"Were you even reading or just showing off? Pretending to read the pages"

"Can you shut your mouth for once and stop pestering me?" I answered back, while he grabbed my teacup, poured himself some tea and drink from it.

"Makes me wonder how a noble lady like you have the skills to read things that most nobles can't.

"I abruptly stopped reading and looked at him in confusion.

"What were you trying to say is?"

"Isn't it obvious? You're reading things casually when in fact only students from East Heaven Imperial Academy who were taught how to read these manuals knew how. Noble ladies and most people who weren't a part of that academy can't. And you're not one of us."

I smiled.

"With respect to his Highness, you've stayed long enough, it's time for me to send you back."

I stood up and put the book down. He caught me off guard, it's true that I can read these books with ease. But what he doesn't need to know is how.He also stood up.I unhurriedly walk out of my chambers as he followed closely.

"You haven't answered me--" the crown prince was badly cut off when the royal guard came rushing towards us.

"His Highness! The imperial consort has befallen ill!"

"What happened to imperial mother?

"The soldier and him hurriedly went out of my courtyard. Sounds interesting, I should learn his identity soon. But for now, I shall get back to reading.

Lu Zhou was the most unlikely to win the prize. However, it was HIM that won. 
It was not as if Wei Wen disrespected him. 
Wei Wen admitted that Lu Zhou was strong and Lu Zhou even managed to surprise the professors from Courant of New York University. Wei Wen was unsure of Lu Zhou's modeling abilities, but in the field of mathematics, Lu Zhou was stronger than him. 
However, mathematical modeling was a group competition - a semi-academic group research competition. It was not even a mathematics exam competition! Modeling, programming, and thesis must be completed in a rigorous division of labor. If one of the division fell below par, the rest would fall. 
Wei Wen saw Lu Zhou's teammates and did not even consider him a threat. 
The programmer was an expert, but at most he was a second-rated expert, not top of the line. As for the female teammate, she was so useless that he could instantly see through her.
On the surface, it was a 3v3 when it was actually a 3v1.9.

The winner's thesis would be publicly displayed on the website. It would be used as a sample for the others to learn and to tell the losers why they lost. It was also to let the public review the fairness of the game. 
Lu Zhou's thesis was ranked first and Wei Wen found it quickly. 
He downloaded the winner's thesis and opened the PDF file. Wei Wen frowned as he stared at the screen and carefully read from the first word to the appendix.

There was a luck aspect in the mathematical modeling competition. If the thesis was written in the appetite of the review professors, even if the thesis was average, it could still win the second or even the national first level prize.

He went silent for a while.

The O award was short for Outstanding Winner which was also the grand prize. The F prize was chosen from M prizes (the first level prize), then the global O award was chosen from the F prizes. At most, there were 20 O awards. 
The O award also came with awards from associations and companies and so, it was roughly equivalent to the Higher Education Society Cup. Although the titles were similar, the treatment was very different. For example, Double Siegel invested USD10,000 as a bonus for winning the O award. However, it was only for the US teams…
"It wasn't just me. Without the code from Wang Xiaodong, I wouldn't have won," said Lu Zhou as he smiled humbly.

Lu Zhou asked, "I'm going on the train tomorrow. Is there any urgent matter?"
