I walk through my dreams like I've lived a whole life there, most times they are about a recent book I read. That is one of the things I do a lot and I'm not just saying that I really do read almost all day long. If I'm not reading I am probably watching some movie or anime series, yes you can probably guess I haven't done much with my life. let's start where it all began.

Back in middle school I loved to read books so much so that when I was grounded they took away my books instead of saying I couldn't go out with friends or no tv/games. yes I was a pretty strange kid compared to some being a 12 year old in America at the time(2012 No less). when I was grounded my next best thing was video games because they told stories as well at the time my video game collection was pretty sparce using an old dell business computer that ran windows xp (let's just say I got really good at minesweeper). even before I found books video games were still present. I still remember my mom gifting me an original Xbox she won in a contest it came with one game and it was a racing game not a lot of story just races.

After a while of getting in trouble I got grounded while i was grounded so I lost games as well suffice to say my box of legos was not very entertaining for a 12 year old mainly because I didn't like to make things up myself it felt so tedious that I had to work so hard to make up shapes and other things people already. i also didn't have many friends so instead I slept, and I slept hard. I don't remember much of my dreams then but I do remember one that was about magic and there was a really dark forest that went on forever in a sea of trees, other than that though I don't remember.
A couple of months later I was officially free and it felt like freedom I got to read again, it was so much fun, I would imagine it being like a drowning mans next breath of air. I didn't goto sleep that night instead I stayed up reading, when morning came I was tired but the book just got to THAT PART that is just so interesting and catching you can't stop, i read through that day as well. after dinner I got so tired I slept couldn't keep reading.
the next morning felt so sluggish like the morning after you get drunk but not enough for a hangover. well after a week of being late for school because I was busy reading parents up an sold all my books. ALL of them like really I was almost done reading them! I never read another book until after basic training 4 or 5 years later.
things changed after I lost my collection I switched to video games and because they didn't want me up all night reading whenever Christmas came around it was games instead of books. birthday? video game. my dad was an avid gamer always tried to keep his pc updated and sent old games I could run on my pc to me. me and my dad were always great at games but I could never compete with him, and it totally didn't have to do with me playing the games for the stories instead of for the high scores(of you can't tell this sentence is sarcasm read this again).

flash forward to the start of high school I was big on video games by then my computer had upgraded to a brand new one from my birthday me and my dad built it together good memories there. I remember when i tried to play morrowwind on it. that was when I realised I didn't like challenging games i liked to play and get the story, maybe different endings (those were my favorite).

at the start of high school I didn't really have a lot of friends because I didn't have many in middle school. my dad recommended me to join the ROTC there, he said he did and he had fun when he was in high school. So I did and the first year was fun and it started with ROTC especially when I started competing. I had so much fun I spent 14 hours of day at school I woke up at 5 to get to practice went to school than got home around 7 after the other practice you can imagine I didn't have a lot of time for video games especially because all that practice was physally demanding. 

1 year later 2 year in high school this I would consider the real start of high school for you actually have to do something to pass your classes I met a girl in my math class (insert joke about about girls causing problems in highschool here [ps: this is the joke I'm not sexist]). We started talking about a lot of things our school football team things like that, than we got to books she loved to read book I got to see her library once well less of a library and more of a whole wall of books and all books I wanted to read. her name was Alex I had the biggest crush on her at one point than found out she was lesbian so we kinda grew apart shallow I know but it's high school things like this happen. anyways after seeing those books some of them I used to read myself I started to want to read again, but I had no books i was still forbidden to read so I put my frustration put on video games during this time I was playing a lot of modern warfare 2 I loved the story and the way it flowed but it was really the first game I really played on steam I have logged over 500 hours  on that game alone I got every achievement for single player even the ones for veteran difficulties and also got most for the multiplayer which at this point I had everything unlocked and was max level I loved the multi player.

at this point I was starting to show up late sometimes to practice because I wasn't sleeping early enough. I went one more year like that and over summer I played so many video  games I swear I dreamt about sheaperd in mw2 around this time skyrim came out and I played the heck out of it  (I didn't get as many hours of playtime because 3rd year of high school is the hardest around 200hours). 3rd year rolls around I've dropped out of all practices because it was all boring again nothing new same old stuff. I was still busy keeping my grades up especially that foreign language credit that is needed to graduate.

4th year felt like being a freshman again except youre the one who makes fun of the freshmen.

nothing important happened then so I graduated and I wanted adventure something new so I went and joined the US Airforce. If I knew what I knew about it than I would have waited unroll now to join. long story short my addiction to video games got the better of me some nights during training and I ended up sleeping in, combined with my selective forgetfulness  (I kid you not I forgot my boots one time). luckily I wasn't in that long so I got an entry level discharge (look it up if you don't know) after I got back I found books to read online and read I did but because I didn't have school and at the time no work to deal with

this is about the time where I realised something special about my dreams.

at one point in high school I played a game where you create your own games and other people play them but this wasn't like legos using only blocks this was a program and once they started to abandon the Lego building style I started to learn it you could import meshes from other programs like blender so I started learning how to use it during this time I started dreaming up wire frames i wanted to tell a story using this game a story without words. I spent a long time on this and I can say to this day that I am self taught at how to use blender and that I ended up really famous on that game for my builds

that was the first clue because I was spending so long learning how to use blender I started dreaming up wire frames or if I was having a really hard time with a specific thing I would dream how it looked and be able to re create it the next day.

now after my attempt at trying to get a stable job i went back to reading. It started out with books i had already read then spread and spread till I found whole websites filled with books to read some exciting some not and they all had one HUGE thing in common they were all fiction and that's what I like. the wilder the better.

one day I met a girl and we planned on getting married and we had a kid a beautiful daughter we named Angela love her so much. I don't know what happened after we came out of the hospital after she gave birth she said she was through with me and left. that hurt a lot so I went back to reading and read I did the stories around this time were mainly reincarnation stories in another world I swear I had a dream at one point i was reincarnated into alegasea  (if you don't know you haven't lived).

this is where I realised my dreams make for the best stories and I tried to write a story about a specific dream once or twice. It never turned out well. Now I'm in college for networking taking a Cisco class (super boring) so my dreams are extra vivid further making me want to write those stories out but they never seem to tell the story how I want then to but right now this one is working does this count as 4th wall break? (lol couldn't resist the humor there [and don't say it was bad because you thought it was funny at some point deep deeeep down you just don't know it])

a story about a man and his dreams that might mean he is insane or might just love books too much. don't listen to the voices in your head about this one because the pink platypusbear that sleeps like a bat doesn't like your drugs.

Sitting by the pond at the center of the library, Dyon immediately began pouring through the books Libro helped him get. Although Dyon's memory was never photographic, he was still proud of it. If he, at any point, understood a topic, it would be unlikely that he would forget it. But, this was taken to an all new level with the speed reading technique. 
By using the Sapientia family's technique, Dyon was able to understand the will of the books he wanted to read without even opening the cover. This essentially led to an even deeper understanding than he could have gained by normal methods. As such, the things he learned were engraved into his brain. As long as he put them to practice, he would never lose this knowledge. 
If he could gain a cultivation method, his capacity to use the technique would increase. He may even be able to speed read multiple high-level books at a time. 
Dyon was in awe of the knowledge he was gaining. Array Alchemy allowed a myriad of things, from setting up protection and slaughter arrays to grafting together simple plants to form more complex ones. Even just one aspect led to infinite possibilities. For example, scientifically speaking, grafting meant using special means to splice the DNA of various plants together to form a new plant sharing the properties of the grafted DNA, or even creating all new properties not shared by any of the plants used to create it. By using the martial world's methods, the new plant would even be available immediately without the growth wait time. 
'No wonder why no one wants to join this faction. The complexity is without bounds. Theoretically, there's an infinite amount of knowledge to gain, which means any regular student would never feel like they made any real progress.'
But this only made Dyon smile. Dyon estimated that in just 2 days, he'd have the common plant knowledge equivalent to that of the top array alchemy expert of Focus Academy. 
There was something that made Dyon even more excited, though. He technically might not need to read the books on the highest levels of the library. If he used his knowledge of plant biology in combination with his knowledge of the function of the common plants, he may be able to guess the results of grafting certain plants in certain ratios with high accuracy.  
'This must be hard to do for other Array Alchemists because they don't have the human world knowledge that I have.' 
This thought gave Dyon a new level of understanding. 
'Delia didn't not recognize the storage bands I have on because her world doesn't have the means to make them. She didn't recognize them because her world has other means to create the same effects, so they don't need commoner storage bands.' 
One of the basic books of the martial world that Dyon read about gave an overview of the storage devices in the martial world. While human devices utilized preservation and miniaturization technology, the martial world used special gems that consolidated infinitesimally small amounts of dimension and time will to recreate the same effects. Dyon accessed the objects he stored through a screen, while Mayumi could pull out his bow and arrow just by touching the gem and using his will. 
This was an important epiphany for Dyon for many reasons. For one, this steeled his resolve to not underestimate those of the martial world. They weren't technologically inferior, they just had no need to advance in fields that they could use their own theories to replace. Secondly, this meant Dyon might be able to gain an advantage if he combined his commoner education with their knowledge. Him not necessarily needing to read higher level theory books on plants might just be the first instance of this. 
Before Dyon even noticed, 2 days had passed by before he finished speed reading the hundreds of books on common plants. This was when Dyon noticed a problem with his speed reading method. 
'I have all of this knowledge, but it isn't organized. It's almost like if I want to recall something, I have to close my eyes and "re-read" the hundreds of volumes I just went through to find the answer. This isn't good. The knowledge I've gained is useless like this.'
Frustrated, Dyon carried the books back to the wooden desk in sets of ten. 
'What a waste of 2 days. I'm tired as all hell and I smell horrible.'
Dyon had long since taken off his previously unbuttoned dress shirt and switched his rolled-up jeans for a pair of grey sweats, but he still felt uncomfortable. 
Dyon looked up as the monitor flickered, "you seem tired," Libro pinched his nose, "I can almost smell you from here. Go rest. I'll let you take the books on array theory with you."
Dyon flicked his wrist, too tired to answer. He created a new folder called 'array theory', and slotted the other set of hundreds of books into his storage bands. 
"What an interesting device. Doesn't seem very efficient though," Libro snickered. 
"Yea, yea, yea. I'm sure you know what problems I'm having; do you have a solution?"
"In terms of your need for rest and showers, those won't be resolved until you reach a higher cultivation level. Your brain's capacity is still too weak to go without rest. In terms of the speed reading technique, I'm sure a genius like you will figure it out," Libro smiled deviously. 
'I can't just give him all the answers, this is my family's secret technique after all. If I wasn't crystal glasses level, I'd be afraid of being killed for even thinking of giving him this technique. My only saving grace is that I didn't give him the full technique.'
Dyon sighed, "fine, I guess. Thank for your help, this would probably have been a lot harder without you". 
Libro was a bit surprised by Dyon's sincere thanks, but he took it in stride as he watched Dyon sluggishly head towards his dorm room.

On the top floor of the center pillar, the family heads met in a spacious office. 
Reminiscent of the ceremony hall, the room was filled with somber light. A fire place raged off to the right, flickering soft embers that lit the dark room. Drapes of maroon covered the large windows, resonating with the dark wood floor. A large desk partially hid Patia-Neva's figure as he faced away from the other family heads and towards the covered windows. 
The other family heads sat on black couches surrounding the fire place, letting silence reign the room. 
Kami was the first to speak, fury coating his words, "I won't let this stand. My boy still hasn't recovered. Disregarding the pain he's been in, the expense of the medicine needed to ensure these wounds would have no impact on his future is astronomical." 
"Don't act rashly Kami. If your boy hadn't tried to kill the commoner, he would have never suffered," Patia-Neva's voice was understanding but firm. He couldn't allow Kami's hate to fester. 
"I don't care. Since when has the Kami family ever needed permission to kill? He'll pay for this humiliation".
Duco spoke, "don't forget why he gained the quota to perform in the first place Kami. The boy may be mediocre here, but he is of great value to the commoners. If they learn of him being killed, and especially so soon after coming to us, it will start a war."
"Duco is right, we have other issues to deal with. Warring with the commoners is not something we can afford, and it seems like the boy knows this. Plus, considering the dangerous missions Focus Academy's students undergo from the 4th grade onwards, he might just die naturally," Bai spoke out in agreement. 
Sapientia's light laughter filled the room in hopes of cutting through the tension, "from what I can garner, this boy might not continue to be mediocre for long," he said in reply to Duco's comment, "I see that our resident Librarian has already taken a liking to him."
"What?!" 
Kami's anger spiked. The importance of the library to this school couldn't be understated. If Dyon somehow managed to get Libro to his side as a mentor or friend, his progress would be much faster.  
"Not to worry Kami, Libro wouldn't break the rules of the academy… Although, it seems that Patia-Neva's daughter gave the boy access to the first 600 levels for a few hours," Delia's father stiffened at these words.
Kami sighed in relief. No one could do anything with just a few hours, even with access to 600 levels. 
"Eh, I wouldn't be too relieved if I were you. It seems like one of the techniques he learned was my clan's speed reading technique."
"Learned? Don't play with us Sapientia. You just said he only had a few hours, what do you mean learned. And such a high level technique at that?" Storm said, breaking his silence. 
Sapientia sighed, "It seems he has quite some affinity for my clan's techniques."
Kami's fists tightened. 
In reality, it seemed odd for experts of their stature to be so concerned with a boy. Their surprise had been minimized when they remembered their background check on Dyon. When it came to how powerful his music will was, it was explained away by considering how long he had played the piano for; so, his feats were less impressive than they seemed to be. But, they felt he might become a threat in the future. The worst part was that they didn't have the time or means to deal with him now. And plus, aside from the looming threat of war with the commoners, it was taboo for the older generation to mingle in the affairs of the younger. 
Patia-Neva's voice rang out, "the larger school alliances are putting too much pressure on us. We may have many promising geniuses in this generation, but past years have only had maybe two or three. If we want this school to survive, and thereby secure the future of our families, we shouldn't be ostracizing geniuses. The boy is intelligent. It wouldn't be difficult for him to find out that there would be other schools willing to recruit him. We are lucky that he fell within our Focus district. I suggest we move away from a plan to stifle him ourselves. The students of this school will be more than enough to do that. That way, if he succeeds despite that, we have a genius. If he fails, then we'd have gotten rid of a problem. We have other matters to attend to, such as preparing our families' geniuses for the Alliance Ranking Tournament and..."
Although Patia-Neva didn't speak the last parts of his thoughts, the other family heads knew fully well what he was referring to. 
Aside from this, the truth was that the family heads only directly acted against Dyon because it was the easiest and most direct way. If he was embarrassed into leaving without them having to lift a finger, it would have been their best-case scenario. They had no way of guessing he'd have met Delia to give him access to the library, or even that he'd be able to learn what he learned in such a short time. 
Kami swallowed his anger, choosing to believe his son would get his own revenge. 
As the pressure in the room subsided, the family heads nodded in resolve. It wasn't worth it to act themselves. They knew that Dyon would be slowed by his own lack of resources. In fact, he might not even be able to afford a decent cultivation technique since the one demonstrated in the coming classes would be the most basic and crude version possible. 
And even in the case that he did persevere through all of this and become a great expert, if he joined one of their families, it could just be used to bolster their power. 
In addition, they had already had Sapientia perform a mind wiping. Only the chosen, Libro and the family heads knew of what took place in the ceremony hall. This way, no teachers would bend over backwards to raise Dyon as their disciple, the family heads could avoid embarrassment, and the chosen would have the motivation to remain far ahead of him. 
Even the family heads didn't know what calamities lay ahead of them. All they knew was that power trumps everything. And right now, they didn't have enough of it.

To Dyon, it seemed as though these words were heard all the time.

However, how could these people possibly know of all his hard work? Of the fact that sleep was but a distant relative of his. How could they know that he never had a single moment to rest. 

And yet, despite their ignorance, they still said, "you're too arrogant..."

But where were those people when a five-year-old Dyon's eyes shone looking at a computer screen filled with code? Where were those people when an eight-year-old Dyon played his piano and plucked his guitar strings until his fingers bled... needing to vent his feelings about his lost mother without bothering his fatigued father? Where were those people when Dyon sat alone at ten-years-old… when his parents were gone, and the only thing left was a room filled with inventions and computers?

Dyon's arrogance wasn't borne of thin air. It was his hard work. It was his shield. And he wasn't willing to give it up...

Now alone, he left his home behind. 

He was no longer the boy genius who changed the human mortal realm. He was now nothing but a commoner, a bug noble families saw fit to step on. An insignificant existence. 

And yet, Dyon was still the same unchanging person. Standing tall, his eyes firm and his will indomitable.  

This so-called Martial World would come to understand the meaning behind his existence...

"You're quite bold for a girl who's almost been recluse for her whole life you know," Dyon said chuckling.

"Little sister Delia and Meiying probably think so too, but you've been in my heart since the opening ceremony. Maybe not exactly in this way… But sometimes a foot in the door for a long time leads to a fully open one, no?"

Dyon smiled, 'it seems like she's been watching from afar for a long time… it must be lonely being in that room with Libro all the time.'

Dyon felt a delicate hand playing with his collar, "the truth is that I'm always playing the gentle big sister role, mostly because I have no idea how much longer I'll have the chance to…"

The vulnerability in her voice made Dyon tremble. Madeleine was so strong, yet it seemed even martial artists had their weaknesses too.

Aunt Nat dropped a mountain of books on a small table where I am sitting.
 
"Understood? Good fighting boys are only popular until the end of elementary school! When you reach high school, your intellect is what makes you popular!" Aunt Nat said to me in a bossy pose.
 
Again? I want to know what's this popularity fixation is! It's not like I'm going to go to high school! I live on a hill!
 
"Are you okay, Aunt Nat?" I asked feeling a little strange. How did she recover from all those injuries in just one day? Is she even human!? And where did she get these new clothes from? As far as I know, she didn't store clothes in this house, especially jeans and a leather jacket ...
 
"Hmm? I'm fine, don't try to change the subject!"
 
"It's not like I'm trying to change the subject ..." I mumbled under my breath.
 
"Anyway, read books, try to read anything that catches your interest. That source of knowledge and life experience will be your secret to winning in life! If you want to read something let me know, I don't care if it's Manga. I will buy what you want. Read as much as you want." She said to me as she sat on the couch.
 
Why is she being so kind all of a sudden? Maybe these books are some ninja trap?
 
"You don't have to be so suspicious; I didn't put anything dangerous in the books." She said with a small playful smile.
 
I looked at her suspiciously, but I decided to trust her, for now. I picked up a book that was on the stack of books on the table and look at the title.
 
"Advanced mathematics, the universe of numbers?" I said to myself out loud, what kind of ridiculous title was that? Mathematics? It's that number thing, right? I remember my mom taught me a little bit about it when I was younger, it shouldn't be that difficult, right?
 
I opened the book and started reading, but soon I get several question marks in my head. What is this!? Just looking at all these numbers will give me a headache!
 
"The books are divided into basic, intermediate and advanced levels. The book you picked up is the advanced level book, you can't understand it if you don't read the others." She said to me with a smiling face as she lay on the couch in a sloppy position. 
 
"I understand." I nodded at her and looked for a book ... But how do I know which is the basic book!?
 
"What is the basic book?"
 
"Basic knowledge books are marked with the blue label, the intermediate ones with the yellow label, and the advanced ones with the red label."
 
Ohh, was she talking about these tapes? Wait...
 
"Why didn't you tell me that before?"
 
"Why didn't you ask?" she said to me with a confused face.
 
True ... I put the book I'm holding in my hand beside me and started looking for other books to read, I picked up a book called 'What if you were Captain America?', Another ridiculous title.
 
Looking at the cover image of the book, I saw a man holding a shield wearing a glued suit. Who is this guy? Why is he wearing an outfit so close to his body? Does he have weird fetishes like that old eye patch?
 
"Who is Captain America?" I ask Aunt Natasha who was taking off her leather jacket and wearing only jeans and a black T-shirt.
 
"Ohh, don't you know who Captain America is? How rare ... take that book over there and read a little, it tells a little about Captain America's life." She said to me with a surprised face.
 
What? Should meeting Captain America be common? Is he a celebrity or something?
 
I do as she said and picked up a thick black book with the title "Steve Rogers, Captain America."
 
I started reading about Steve Rogers' life, at first I wasn't paying much attention to his life, but soon I found myself fascinated by Steve's way of life. It was incredible that even with his weakened and weak body he wanted to help others, it was incredible to see how he fought against the Nazis for freedom, he really is an incredible person, such an incredible person existed in this world? I'm really looking forward to seeing the world now!
 
After spending I don't know how much time reading the biography of Steve Rogers, Captain America, I finally got to the last page of the book, and on the last page, I found a line from Captain America.
 
"We must all live in the real world ... And sometimes, that world can be quite cruel. But it's the [American] dream ... Hope ... That makes reality worth living for. In the early 1940s, I made a personal commitment to defend the Dream ... And as long as the dream remains, even if partially incomplete, I cannot abandon it!"
 
"Wooow!! He is incredible!!" I screamed out loud waking up Aunt Nat who was apparently asleep.
 
"It is not? He's amazing, do you want to be like him?" Aunt Nat asked me with serious eyes as she sat on the couch.
 
"What are you talking about?" I asked a little confused.
 
"Huh?" apparently it was not the answer she wanted, after all, she was looking at me with a very confused expression now.
 
"I don't want to be like him, Captain America is incredible, he is an example to follow, but he is also a fool."
 
"You can explain better?" She asked seriously. Huh? Where did her usual prankster go? Weird...
 
"You see, he fought World War II, right? From his biography, I can see very well that this war was horrible ... At that moment the world needed a hero, they needed a 'Captain America', but at what cost? Steve Rogers is a hero, the greatest of all heroes, but he is also a soldier who will never be able to leave the war, he will never be able to raise a family, and even if he does raise a family, he will never be able to protect his family, after all, he will have to be saving other people ... Sun faded into the horizon and replaced by the moon.

The night is calm and quiet except for the rustling sound coming from Leon's bedroom. 

It's the flutter of the turning pages, but it was so fast as if they were rifled by the wind. 

Leon's red eyes wander around the page furiously. He only needs one second before he flips the next page.

Two minutes later, he throws the book behind him.

-Plop-

The book plopped right atop the second tower of books. He only needs a few more books to create the third tower.

After Leon asked Tatsuya about the result of the terminal hacking, he finds himself in a race against time.

It turns out Tatsuya only reported Blanche's intelligence to the authority and didn't do anything else. 

The siscon bastard, Leon cursed as he flips the pages faster and faster until the three tomoe on his eyes changed their pattern into a pinwheel.

The more he thinks about it, the angrier he becomes. This made the pages flutter faster than the wind could flip them, yet the words are still clearly captured by his eyes.

He should have known that Tatsuya won't do anything to the terrorist as long as Miyuki's safety is not at risk.

Leon closed the book with a loud bang and opened the front door.

Without giving the person a chance to say anything, Leon snatched the fancy box from the man in uniform and immediately slammed the door right in his face, then walked back toward the study room, ignoring the curses coming from the door.

The box is quite big and it's filled with books, but all of them have something in common, it's magic. As long as it has something to do with magic, he bought them all.

In this world, it's rare for someone to read a book as they can access any information by using the terminal.

At least it's still better than doing nothing at home, but he still can't think of another idea, this made him feeling down.

Sometimes, curses escaped from their lips when Leon bumped into them, but he ignored their protest and continue to walk aimlessly amidst the glittering light of the buildings.

The older woman hesitated for a moment as if afraid of something, but in the end, she tells the officer what she saw.

"... I saw a snake around his neck... I'm pretty sure it was a tattoo... But, suddenly the snake became alive and stood straight in the man's arm. He then... used it like a sword and... stab the girl multiple times... oh dear, what a pitiful girl..."

Without hesitation, Leon pushed the crowd making them stumble. He ignored their curses and protest and continue to get closer until there is no one around him to push.

When he saw the beautiful woman bathed in her own blood, the color drained out of his face.

"...Impossible... how could this happen..." Leon whispered, unable to keep the disbelief out of his voice.

Leon's life was turned upside down when a question dripping with blood appeared on his brand new PC. He had no choice but to choose "Yes" when his sister mysteriously disappeared from the house after this bloody question keeps popping up everywhere. His mirrors, windows, and even on the kitchen table.

Lucien nodded, "I’m looking forward to the trip in seven days."
After Tom left, Lucien asked his three students to sit down in a half circle-shaped couch and started to do his own introduction, "I’m Evans, from the west side of the continent. I’m more into the School of Element and Astrology, but no mastery yet. Feel free to discuss any questions you have with me, please."
"Mr. Evans, nice to meet you," said the chubby-faced girl, "I’m Heidi, and I come from Syracuse. I was recommended by a sorcerer in my country to Mr. Astar and then arrived at Sturk. Within a couple of weeks’ study, I’m already an apprentice in training. I’m currently with Element Meditation, but also studying the rest of the schools as well."
Heidi was the most outgoing one among the three apprentices, so she introduced herself first. As a young teenager, she could not help showing off a bit of her talent.
Following Heidi, Layria said to Lucien in respect, "Mr. Evans, I’m Layria from a common family in Gusta. Since my referrer is a gentleman from the congress, I’m currently practicing Magnetic Resonance Meditation. Mr. Astar told us that, no matter which school we choose to specialize in, basic arcana knowledge is always indispensable, so I’m very looking forward to your instruction."
"I’m from a small town in the Duchy of Violet, Mr. Evans," said Annick. "I study Astrology and Element, too."
Then, before Lucien asked for the arcana books, Heidi already carried all her books to him, "Mr. Evans, can you understand all of them? In most cases, I have no clue at all."
"Me neither," agreed both Layria and Annick.
Taking over the books from Heidi, Lucien started to leaf through them.
The first book was The Significance of Modelling, and its preface wrote:
"In the ancient magic empire time, the belief that prevailed is that understanding the different meanings of the corresponding parts of a magic model is unnecessary and inappropriate, instead, copying the models existing inside of the magic creatures is enough. However, as long as there is myth, there should be an answer; as long as there is an answer, there should be a way to discover it. And if we cannot find the way, it is because we are not on the correct path."
Lucien strongly agreed with the author of the book. He believed that the basic principles of science should be shared by both Earth and this world. Although there must be differences, there should always be ways to identify the differences, as long as one was willing to bravely make hypothesis and carefully verify them.
Lucien turned the book to the front page again, and he was very surprised to find the familiar name on there: the author of the book was Yaroran Hathaway, the maker of Natasha’s Thunder.
Since his three students were still waiting, Lucien did not spend any extra time on exploring who was Yaroran Hathaway. In a reasonable speed, Lucien browsed through all the books and copied them in his spirit library.
"Mr. Evans, how do you think?" Seeing that Lucien put down the last book, both Heidi and Layria asked at the same time.

I have never been at the same school long. In kindergarten I was in one school. Then in 1st I moved to a different school. In 2nd I went to another, and in 3&4 grades I went the same school. In 5th I went to the same school as kindergarten. In 6th I went to an IB and in 7&8& currently 9th, I went to a really good school that everyone in the city wants to go to. 

I wasn't all that upset at switching from the IB to my current school because I could be in the current school until I graduate high school. But around 6th grade I learned the lesson that karma was trying to teach me, but I went about correcting the mistakes the wrong way. 

I shut my self down. I slowly closed my self off. Turned into an introvert. I went from that dirty minded, wild, fun, moody girl to a closed off, shy, quiet, book loving, heartless and cold girl. It was hard. In 6th grade I wasn't that bad, but when I transferred to 7th it got really bad. I couldn't even make eye contact. It was awful. I would stay away from everyone and read my book. I would get lost in my own mind. Even to this day, my mind is my safe spot. I started to call myself, the new me; and the wild girl, the old me.

Even when I was the old me, I always loved books. I love getting lost in a story that makes me feel like I'm on a cloud. I like to call it book drunk. When I get book drunk, I barely register what I'm doing. Like a robot. I get good grades from memorizing what's taught and stuff, but I barely notice it. I sit there in class and think about my book and fantasy's. It's a wonderful feeling. 

In 8th grade I made a really good friend, I call her Kimmy; as in Kimmy Gibler. My step mom came up with it because Kimmy always acts like Kimmy Gibler from Fuller House. Sure I had friends in 7th grade, but the only thing we had in common was the Harry Potter books so I distanced myself from them. To be honest, they were boring to me. Like I care about make-up, boys, and all that junk. To me that's all useless.

My birthday is in the beginning of the year, it sucks because I'm always one of  the oldest; either at home or at school. I never get a break. Well anyways, a few days before my birthday I entered this amazing world. I slowly became an otaku! Today I am really deep in the otaku world. I opened the doors of yaoi, the hardcore and softcore. I have no regrets.

Kimmy doesn't understand me at all. She is really strict with her religion and she has really strict parents. She thinks yaoi is gross, it's infuriating. But I just learned to stop bringing it up. She locked the doors yaoi and threw away the key.

Do you believe in karma? Well, the main character of this short story does. Read how karma affects her life. How she gets punished by her mistakes. See how her lives changes over and over again. First love, family feuds, oldest of many siblings, and a hard life for the lead. There are no names in the novel. I’m not very good at that stuff, sorry about that.

High-tier martial arts for Mystical Realm meant that they were high-tier martial arts that could only be practiced by those who had reached Mystical Realm, and it was self-evident that they were stronger than the high-tier martial arts of Blessed Realm. For example, Seven Stars Sword was a martial art from Sword of Heavenly Lake Faction. Even though Happy had never learned it in his previous life, he still had some understanding of it. Seven Stars Sword was quite a good high-tier martial art, and it could be considered as an average high-tier martial art in Mystical Realm. 
It contained Constellation Breathing Technique and Seven Stars Sword Styles!
Constellation Breathing Technique was a high-tier qi cultivation technique that was in Mystical Realm. Once it was activated, the user's recovery speed would become much faster. It would also provide a certain degree of effect toward expanding the meridian system and strengthening their affinity. 
Right then, there were not many people who had Mystical Realm qi cultivation techniques. 
It was the same for Seven Stars Sword Styles. All the powerful players on the Dragon and Phoenix Ranks relied on high-tier martial art manuals of Blessed Realm that came in full sets to become powerful in one go. Despite Happy experiencing several events when his Comprehension increased, there was still some time before he could practice Seven Stars Sword.

He had only taken a few steps when he was blocked by an old teacher with a graying beard standing at the entrance to the hall of the private school. The old man was dressed in a white robe, and there was some hints of sternness under his cordial smile. 
"Young man, this is not a place where wanderers should go. For what reason have you come here?"
"I've come here to study."
"Why did you come here to study?"
The old teacher stared into Happy's eyes calmly, as if he wanted to see through the young man's thoughts. 
However, Happy had been prepared for this since a long time ago, and he answered calmly. "I want to learn of the path of virtuous sages because I aspire to become a good person."
"Yes, not bad."
A satisfied smile bloomed on the stern face of the old teacher. He stroked his graying beard, swung his arm, and stepped aside. 
"Please, come in."
It was actually a small test of the private school. If a player could not clear it because they stammered their answer or could not tell their reason for coming, the old teacher would stop them from entering the school without any hesitation. There were only a few players who could pay the amount of money required to enter in the beginning of the game to increase their Comprehension in private schools. The serious-looking scholars who were swaying their heads were all NPC students the system had arranged in the school. They were there to add some life to the place. When a player arrived, they would take the initiative to give up their seat for them. 
Those who were flipping through the books and doodling were the real players. 
Happy's arrival swiftly attracted the six people's attention in the hall. Their eyes lit up, and their gazes landed on him. They were all sizing him up and making guesses about his identity.

It would be the equivalent of how impossible it would be for a seven- or eight-year old to become a professional scientist in my original world. If such a thing really happened in this world, it would either be the result of a reincarnated spirit, or a demon/devil pretending to be human.
Even though magical knowledge was now commonplace and complete, all sorts of mysterious magical secrets would still attract a great deal of attention. However, the most fundamental part of magic was how to use the basic elements.
Enchanting something with flames at high temperature would often cause explosions. The burning point of a substance would often mean the temperature at which it would die. Powerful winds would have powerful pushing and cutting force, a direct representation of power that wasn't visible to the naked eye. The penetrative properties of water were as important as it itself was for all life. The earth silently bore everything upon it, and all mortals also required the earth to survive.
This was why fire magic had been developed to include all sorts of AOE magic attack spells. Fire magic had large AOEs, high temperature, and tremendous attack power. Water magic had the weakest attack power, but was the most flexible, and even had healing properties. Low-level earth magic was focused on defensive spells, but when you reached high-level earth magic, no matter if it was building walls or destroying walls, no other magic type could compare.
This was all similar to how science in my original world had been developed by using the laws of nature. Didn't electricity, magnetism, force, and other such scientific fields all come about this way? A scientist would have to start from the effects that appeared to occur on the surface, gradually analyze and understand the reason why such a thing occurred, and then use the natural laws and technologies discovered to change nature, using special man-made tools to create a higher-level civilization of one's own.
"…So, I had been wrong from the very beginning."
Learning through Harloys' soul books was far more effective than "starting over from the very beginning". This was especially more so because the ice mages had all been quite successful. If I still couldn't understand after gaining all of their personal experiences, I would be dumber than a pig.
Harloys hadn't simply just given me a pile of ice magic mages' soul books. As she was a master of all magic types, her understanding of magic had long since surpassed that of the mages in the soul books. She classified all of magic into specific categories and subcategories, and had a deep understanding of all main and even uncommon schools of thought. With that as the foundation, she had specially picked a "list of books" just for me so that I could have a God's eye view and understanding of the entirety of ice magic. Then, she would base the next books for me on my personal condition and needs, picking the necessary magical school of thought and giving me more knowledge from a mage of that school of thought.
"Although ice and snow are elements that exist in the natural world, they aren't basic elements. Ice and snow are compound Concepts that are the combination of two more basic Concepts. The first basic Concept is Water, while the second basic Concept is Low Temperature. Only when both basic Concepts are present will ice and snow be produced.
"This is the reason why the majority of ice mages will also study water magic as a sub-specialization. Perhaps it should be said that the job class known as ice mage was just another job class under water mage to begin with. It will be quite difficult to proceed down the path of ice magic cultivation without knowledge of water magic… Don't ask me how you managed to learn ice magic without water magic. Just think of it as your wild bestial instinct."
Harloys' categorization of all magic completely abandoned the magic society's typical classification of magic by spell effects and historical inheritance. Instead, she classified magic in a more encyclopedic style.
"Many ice magic spells are simply extensions of water magic spells. A regular water wall magic spell can be cast just by summoning the water element. If you add low temperature to that, it will transform into an excellent defensive ice wall magic spell instead. As for icicle blast, the ice magic spell known for astonishing killing power, more than 70% of its magical formula is identical to the famously weak two-circle water magic spell, waterball."
The entirety of ice magic was taught to me by Harloys. This all came from the research results of countless people. However, their knowledge had all been only partial.
And yet, when all that knowledge was combined in Harloys, she was able to explain the entire magical system of ice.
Under Harloys' classification, there were two major categories of ice magic. One was ice magic itself, and the other was snow magic. In her eyes, snow magic was actually a completely different magic system from ice magic.
"Ice is a special form of water in low temperature. Ice magic spells are relatively simple in regard to magic formulas. Typically, you only need to swiftly freeze water, and then kill your enemy with the hardness and sharpness of ice, or with low temperature. If you want to become skilled in ice magic, you must also have high skill in water magic in order to make the ice difficult to analyze and defend against."
Harloys showed me a little performance. A waterball on her arm froze into ice, and then easily changed into forms such as ice sword, ice hammer, ice shield, and so on. The most ridiculous transformation of all was transforming it into a gigantic electric saw, with the water portion responsible for keeping everything smooth and flexible, and the sharp ice portion responsible for killing.
She also transformed her ice and water into a nine-sectioned whip, a three-sectioned staff, and an ice spear that she could extend or shorten the length of at will. Perhaps I had always been mistaken about how I had used my weapons of ice before.
"Some famous ice magic schools include the snow dancers from the northern glaciers and the armed snowmen of the Bearmen. Many of them are magical warriors who cultivate both magic and martial arts. This is because large AOE ice magic spells use far too much mana, and are far too slow. This makes ice magic actually inefficient for pure mages. Mixing some ice magic techniques with martial techniques is an excellent combination. Among all ice magic warriors, your Aurora Knights are the best of all. Their ice swords and ice armor that they can change the shape of have incredible power. However, even though the Aurora Knights have the largest mana pools out of all ice magic warriors, their use of ice magic is far too rough. They're basically no different from a group of magical beasts with how undeveloped they are."
I silently nodded in agreement. Indeed, the Aurora Knights' combat techniques were quite rough. When in the air, they would simply shoot ice shards and charge with ice spears. When on the ground, the Frigid Nightmares would become the primary fighters, with the Aurora Knights as their support. Even though the Aurora Knights clearly had good mana pools, their destructive power and combat strength in magic wasn't even close to mages of the same level. This was because Aurora Knights only knew how to charge and attack with ice shards.
"Snow magic is also a major type of ice magic that I categorized myself. Basically, snow magic imitates snow calamities in the natural world, mainly using low temperature to kill your enemies. There's far too many examples of snow magic, such as blizzard magic, avalanche magic, hail magic, and so on. Your Ice Aeon is also categorized as snow magic.
"The benefit of imitating the natural world's snow calamities is that it's easy to create the magic formulas. The attack power and area of effect are also quite satisfactory. There also won't be any laughable scenes such as spending 10 times the amount of mana for only 1% of results, which is quite common in ice magic. However, the weakness of snow magic is that its magic formulas are quite standardized, with the effects of the magic being obvious. It's easy for enemies to anticipate what you will do beforehand and easily avoid the spell.
"Also, the larger in scale the snow magic, the more of a low temperature prerequisite there will be. This will require a tremendous amount of mana required as payment together with a long incantation time. What meaning is there in having such a slow-casting spell, no matter how powerful it is? Still, there's a certain idiot who created a spell where it didn't matter how slow it was, because it would cleanse the entire map, so what am I supposed to say? It's not mage-like at all; it's a pure and utter waste of mana; it's foolish to the point where I don't want to comment… If I said that I wasn't talking about you, would you believe me?"
Harloys explained the entirety of ice magic to me. But, the scary part was that this was only the beginning.
"…This, this, this, and this are all books that you must read. After learning all these, your incredibly tiny list of magic spells that you know how to cast can finally be expanded. If you only know how to play with ice swords and cast forbidden spells, don't dare to call yourself my disciple. That would be far too humiliating for me."
Harloys gave me more than 30 soul books, and more than 400 ordinary magic textbooks to read through. I instantly wanted to become a truant.
Previously, it took me an entire night to finish reading my first ice magic soul book. I also sunk into a state of "Who am I?" confusion for a short period of time. Forcing another person's entire soul's worth of knowledge into one's head as a method of learning wasn't something that ordinary people would be able to deal with easily.
Soon after, Harloys piled yet another mountain of books on another table next to me. This pile actually included more than 60 soul books.
"As a top-level ice and snow magic mage, you need to at least learn enough water magic knowledge to match Legend-ranked water mages. Even if you don't know how to cast a single water magic spell, you at least need to match them in theoretical knowledge. You're truly fortunate as water is one of the major four elements. I have far, far more water magic knowledge accumulated here than for ice magic."
Soon, another floating disc brought yet another pile of books.
"Right, since your method of using magic is just like that of the magical beasts who rely on their natural talents, there's actually many warlocks and dragon bloodline mages who also do the same thing. You can try learning from their memories and combat experience… Where did Roland go? I'm being nice enough to teach you, yet you dare to play truant on me!?"

“Tsk! You think I’m stupid? If I really destroyed a town, a crusade of Myth-ranked Holy Knights would definitely come hunting me down. Even if I earned the points, there wouldn’t be any life left in me to spend them. I better just go be a kindly lollipop bandit.”
I’ve already had enough of being a notorious lich. Who says a lich can’t be a good person? I’m definitely going to beat this damned system and be an upright and dignified good man.
