The next day, the matter continued to grow, the majority of the newspapers overwhelmingly denounced Columbia at the same time, and maybe because they started to run out of places to vent, they even begun to accuse the owner of Columbia, the Coca-Cola group, to have played a part in that lowly business strategy. Columbia Pictures' results had hit rock bottom long ago, so Coca-Cola Group had originally not cared much about this 'trivial' company.
 
Surprisingly, the day after the market opened, Coca-Cola who had always been very stable, had its share price directly fall by 1.7%. This figure might seem insignificant, but if you linked it to the tens of billions of dollars in market value, the higher ups weren't so calm.
 
Coca-Cola's CEO, Roberto Goizueta, directly called Blount Cohen and madly cursed at him, ordering him to quickly resolve this matter or he would have him step down from his position of Columbia's CEO.
 
Under the pressure from the Coca-Cola headquarters, at ten o'clock, Blount Cohen personally held a press conference in Columbia. He politely apologized to Eric, and promised that they would seriously uphold their part of the gambling agreement.
 
Eric got the news, and didn't intend to let things run amok any longer, he immediately let his personal lawyer, Edward Lewis, publish a statement in The Los Angeles Times about accepting their apology. Thus, the emerging storm started to rapidly subside.
 
Because of the controversy, they expected that Home Alone's tickets sales would experience a decline, but after receiving the week's data, not only did it not fall, the sales had risen instead. The movie had made 28,760,000$, breaking the 50 million $ mark in its second week of running.
 
17 Again made 14,730,000 $, maintaining its second place at the box office. Eric's two movies together had made more than 50% of the total North American box office this week, which again left people in wonder.
 
Although the results were amazing, the media's attention slowly died down. And after several days of not being able to get any useful news, the reporters that had been camping around Eric's neighborhood finally began to leave.
 
This week, Eric basically stayed at home and concentrated on writing Resident Evil that he had promised to Michael Klaus. His past world had two version of the series, one was the Capcom game story line, the other was the film version with Alice as the main lead. Unfortunately, Eric had only played the fourth and sixth chapters of the game series, so he didn't understand a lot about it.
 
As for the movie version, there was obviously not much that could be written, since it was based on game content, it only featured Milla Jovovich's badass moments.
 
Therefore, writing the Resident Evil novel wasn't as easy as writing Jurassic Park, Eric spent three days before he conceived the outline for Leon alone. From him joining the police at the beginning, until all of them working together to escape Raccoon City's outbreak.
 
The protagonists from his past, Chris, Jill, Wesker and more were cleverly integrated into the novel. Of course, the most popular amongst Chinese fans', sister Wong, was certainly indispensable. Eric very wickedly portrayed Ada Wong and Leon's relationship as a Queen and her toyboy.
 
This was not something Eric had come up with, in the internet of his past, many fans of the game had expressed their desire for the two's relationship to be this way.

Lisa and Sadie walked down two blocks in silence before Lisa turned around. 

"So, your name is Sadie, right?" Lisa asked looking down at the small woman. 

Sadie raised the envelope up to her mouth and with a nervous expression nodded yes. She brushed back her gentle brown hair, which was tied in a long single braid, back behind her thick rimmed black glasses, before speaking. 

"My name is Sadie Blake. I have been working with the Match Fighter Association at the Mad Dogs arena for four years now. But before that I interned at Phenix MFA Arena for two years and that was when I was still doing my studies at the University of Arizona." Sadie said rather quickly. She then tentatively raised her hand in an offer to shake Lisa's. 

Lisa looked at her hand for a brief second while thinking. "Well, this is interesting. I didn't expect that this town, out here in the middle of practically no where, would actually have some decent people. I thought Jackson would have given me one of his goons to keep tabs on me. But this woman seems like she actually legit." 

Lisa grasped Sadie's hand warmly. "Wonderful to meet you. You can call me Lisa, at least only when we aren't around anyone else."

"Ok, I will." Sadie said.

"So I am guessing there are some things we need to discuss." Lisa said. Then pointing at the envelope in Sadie's hands. "I assume that that might have to do with this envelopes contents?"

"O-oh. Yes, it does. Well mostly. Do you want to talk about the MFA here or somewhere else…?" Sadie said as her voice faded off. 

"Here probably would be very appropriate." Lisa said looking around at the empty rundown street. "Let's go to a bar nearby. We can talk much more comfortably once we are sitting down. Also, I am so very thirsty! All that fighting and talking has just made my mouth as dry as the desert." She then smacked her lips together, as if proving her point. 

Sadie nodded. "That's fine with me. Um, your going to have to lead the way. I don't know my way around this town all to well."

Lisa turned to lead the way and they started to chat as they walked. 

"What do you mean you don't know the way around town? Didn't you say that you had been here for four years?" Lisa inquired. 

"Well, Yes." Sadie said a bit apprehensive. "I did come here through town when I first arrived, but it was in an armored truck convoy. So I only saw it though the window. I spent the rest of my time in the Mad Dogs conclave working with my boss, Rickshaw, in the MFA headquarters there." 

She looked around at the tattered and worn shops and building lining the streets. She even starred a bit to long at the people trudging by them. 

"I knew this town wasn't in all that good of a condition. But I never expected it to be this, depressing, I guess is one way to put it." Sadie said quietly to Lisa. 

"Yes, most of the country is just like this town. If your saying this now, then I can assume Phenix is doing very well?" Lisa replied. 

"Oh yes. Despite the heat, Phenix is such a lovely and beautiful place to live. I grew up there from birth." Sadie said giving a smile as she thought of home. 

"I see." Lisa replied. 

Just then they arrived their destination. The Ragged Flagon. When Lisa pushed open the two front doors she noticed right away that the bar had been nearly fully repaired. The only sign of her fight, with the two other Match Fighters, was that the areas where the floors had been damaged had been replaced with brand new flooring. Even the destroyed tables and chairs looked new. For a decaying town with little infrastructure they sure did fix this bar quickly. 

"So should be sit in a booth or table?" Sadie said looking around the room with some excitement. 

It was pretty clear to Lisa now, that Sadie probably didn't go to such places very much. 

"A booth is good." Lisa replied and headed for a booth near the front of the bar. It wasn't as crowded there, so they would be able to talk about more sensitive topics. If there were any.

They sat down a a waitress came over to them. "What can I get for you." She asked sounding slightly board. 

"Any light beer you have and make it a large, please." Lisa said. 

"Uh, just water for me thank you." Sadie said. "I don't do so well alcohol."

The waitress left and Lisa clasped her hands together and set them to to the table. "So, let's get right to business. What is the Match Fighter Association? Why do I need a manager? And what conditions am I being forced to follow, if I comply?"

Sadie shifted slightly nervous in her seat before replying. "Well the Match Fighter Association, or MFA, started up in 2156. The two largest Mixed Martial Arts groups at the time, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and ONE Championship, merged to create what the MFA is today. They combined their own unique styles and rules, as well as creating a new unique matching system. However, they didn't just stop there. They expanded their influence to even the political realm."

Just then the waitress returned with the drinks. "Here you two are. Just let me know if you want to order anything else."

"Thank you." Lisa replied. Then she motioned to Sadie to continue. 

Sadie took a sip of the water. "Eh, the water out her in town isn't cold at all."

"Yes it is hard to keep anything cold with out electricity." Lisa said nodding. 

"Well any how, back to your questions." Sadie replied. "The MFA started to solve local and occasionally State affected issues though, at the time, illegal underground fights. The two opposition side would bet their policy's and votes on these match's. Eventually they were found out and it went to trial. However, the betting eventually won the right to continue. All this had taken place during the rapid decline of the USA Democratic Republic government. Then war broke out between China and its allies verse the USA and its subsequent allies. Since the MFA was apart of both countries, after all the bombs had settled, it was through the fights that many of the issues were resolved."

"Hmm, that's actually pretty interesting. Please go on." Lisa said draining the last drop of her beer. She waved to the waitress for another.

Sadie cleared her throat and continued on. She seemed to enjoy explaining her knowledge of the organizations history. "As time went on to where we are today, there are three distinct levels in the MFA. First, is the one you are being ranked in. The Shadow League or MFASL. The Shadow League is comprised of basically all the new and lowest ranking members of the MFA. They are also the most numerous, as they are practically in every midsized to large town in every continent. The other two leagues are the Mountain League and the Sun League. The Mountain League fights are nearly always televised and happen in arenas by those fighters that have outstanding records. The Sun League are the best of the best. They typically fight for political people or the ultra wealthy. Many see them as the gods that determine how the world will be run. But that's just some peoples opinion."

"Now for your second question. You need a manger for several reasons. To keep track on your fighting record is one reason. Unlike traditional matches, fights rarely take place on a predetermined time or place. So a manager from the MFA needs to be with each Match Fighter in order to send the results to the MFA data base. To move up into the Mountain League you not only need to win a lot, but beat people worthy of causing your promotion. That entirely determined by the MFA higher ups. I don't know all the specifics at the moment, but I will soon." Sadie said this while patting the envelope on the table between them. 

"So I will be your manager. I report to Rickshaw, who reports to his boss in Salt Lake City. I'm sure the chain of command keeps going up, but that's as far as I have been allowed to know so far. Also, mangers can over see numerous Match Fighters at a time and have been known to have up to twenty fighters to keep track of." Sadie took a breath and then said slowly. "As of now you are my first and only Match Fighter under my supervision. So that said, you have my full attention at all times. I won't interfere with you personal life or affairs. So feel free to use the Association to benefit your intentions if you do desire. There really aren't that many things I could possibly forbid you to do."

"So your a rookie manager?" Lisa said raising an eyebrow. "Didn't they give you any responsibility in the four years you've been here?" 

"Well, Yes but no." Sadie said blushing slightly. "I handled a lot of the headquarters paperwork and organizing things. But I was never granted any manager spots."

"I see. So what about the conditions I need to follow." Lisa asked. 

"Ah, those would be listed in this envelope. In here are the Match Fighter Regulation and Rulings." Sadie opened the envelope. She reached in and started to pull out the stack of papers to present them. However, the thick stack of papers were not stapled or pinned together. So when she pulled them out of the envelope fully her fingers slipped, sending papers flying all over the table and floor!

One of the waitresses was walking by at just that moment. She stepped an the loose papers and slipped. The tray of drinks and food she was carrying flew out of her grasp and splattered all over five men drinking at a table behind the two laddies. 

The men yelled out in surprise. They turned to see the cause of the problem and seeing Sadie's shocked face and papers scattered everywhere they knew who the culprit was. They got up and surrounded the two ladies booth. 

"Look what you did, you clumsy wench." One man said gesturing to his stained shirt. 

"Your going to have to pay us for new clothing." Another man said. 

"Ya, or else your going to regret disrespecting us like this." A third man said rubbing his hands on his pants with a towel. 

"S-sorry it was an accident! I didn't mean for this to happen." Sadie said flustered. 

"Sorry isn't going to cut it. Now pay up!" The first man spoke.

"I don't have enough money at the moment!" Sadie replied nervously. 

"Oh, that won't be a problem." One of the said taking a step towards her. "I think we can come up with a solution." As he said this he picked up her braided hair and ran his fingers through it. Sadie shuddered as she understood what he meant. 

"That enough!" Lisa said angrily seeing this. "I was an accident! She owes you nothing."

"Oh, what are you going to do about it?" The second man replied. "You going to join her in helping apologize?"

Lisa snorted angrily. "No I'm going to do this!"

The last thing the man saw was a fist smashing into his jaw.

Several years after major nuclear events, followed by the rise of robotic armies, have caused the world to become post-apocalyptic. There is a dam which provides water, food and transportation to the several thousand people who have been congregating in the re-growing town. Many had hoped to fix the hydroelectric station to rebuild their lives, but corruption brews. 

The lone woman stops at one of the bars and gets into a fight with some local gangsters who were mistreating a young girl outside. Causing her to become at odds with the gangs of the town. This is the instance that first roots our heroine, Lisa Cunningham, to save this town and prompted her to grow her Black Market Empire here! 

However, gangs are the least of her worries! Robotic army’s, rebellion militia, mutated monsters, mad cults, competing companies and lustful men ogled over her all the time!! Not to mention the strange events that slowly begin to happen around the girl, Hanna, that she saved. 

Yet there is more to Lisa than good looks alone. She has come back from over 200 years ago and is learning more about what has happened while she was in cryogenic sleep. How will she be able to survive in a hostile world and reach her own goals?

The article was detailing the two sides of the bet, and analyzing the possibility of Eric winning it. The author was obviously an insider and had included a series of data of similar box office comedies in the past. He estimated that with Home Alone, Eric's chance of losing was more than 80%.
 
Home Alone neither starred a celebrity cast nor had any investors. Among such good but low-budget comedies, only a few could make 2 to 3 million at the box office, most would just make a million. Therefore, the possibility of Home Alone breaking the 50 million mark was very low. The author even concluded by saying that Columbia would most likely never 'allow' Home Alone to pass that mark.

Within a few days, he had already received dozens of requests for interviews. Jeff, who hadn't contacted in a while, suddenly called to inform that some people had come to inquire about him at the restaurant. Eric realized that he caught the attention of the paparazzi.
 
Meanwhile, after the publication of The Los Angeles Times article, the 20th Century Fox and Columbia Pictures seemed to form a tacit understanding, as the promotions of 17 Again and Home Alone started in full swing.
 
Carter Hunt, the head of the Distribution Department on Fox's side had some regrets about refusing to watch Eric's Home Alone. However, as a professional, he quickly got over his mood and after discussing with his peers at Columbia, launched a simultaneous publicity campaign. Although Eric promptly went into hiding and the paps hadn't been able to interview him, they had still dug around and his whole life from his immigration from England, his school's grades, to even his time passed at Jeff's Italian restaurant was laid bare for the public to feast on. Aniston was relishing in it all, teasing him from time to time.
 
Then, a tabloid published about his alleged love triangle between Drew Barrymore and an 'unknown actress'. They apparently got this from some members of the 17 Again crew, and the story was vividly written, even inferring that Drew's turning over a new leaf and joining a rehab center were all for Eric's sake. Once that article came out, a certain 'unknown actress' had made Eric sleep on the sofa for two days in a fit of jealousy.

Michael Klaus was so excited, he could barely sit still. The two giants' high-intensity propaganda for the two movies and Eric caused the sales of Jurassic Park, which had already exceeded 100,000 weekly sales, to skyrocket again. According to the current sales trend, breaking through 1 million copies this year wouldn't be a problem.

In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.
