Everyone gathered in the camp ground of the main camp as the closing ceremony was to be held. It had been a tradition that before campers were sent home, they bid them a small get together gathering. Tables were set in each corner of the camp with food and some refreshments while campers scattered around bidding goodbyes to each other, writing their mobile numbers on a pieces of paper, ready to give to their newly found friends.
In the heart of the camp, a little center isle was built for the recognition ceremony. Officers who graduates this year — meaning those who won't be coming back to the camp for the next school year – will be given a token of gratitude.
When the program began, everybody gathered around the center isle to give honor to the officers who had made sure that the camp was well managed and who had made sure everyone was safe.
Each officers were called and every camper gave out their claps to acknowledge their efforts. Also, this particular ceremony was one of the events that every campers anticipated because during this time, campers will learn who amongst the officers were from Rivendell High.
Everyone was aware that Rivendell Academy was the one who funded and managed the camp and because it is an A-list school and a very exclusive one, everyone was dying to get a glimpse of their students and their lifestyles. [this-novel's-author-is-Zijay-and-this-221-novel-is-contracted-under-webnovel-dot-com] It was known already that Rivendell students had great profiles so they kind of adored them even before they met them.
Right now the only thing campers knew is that the Montarini prince and the Montreal's youngest sire were the only amongst so many in their country who were admitted to such school. So they hoped to see the foreign students who were also the school attendees since it was rumored that they were sons and daughters of royalties. For sure many of the officers they encountered in the camp were from Rivendell, they just couldn't tell which was which and so the recognition ceremony will be the one to tell that.
"Everyone it is time. I know you had been anticipating this event for long and here we are now. In a moment we will be bidding goodbye to the officers who had rendered their services to make this camp possible. Their sacrifice and services we shall acknowledge today. To them, we give today the plaque of recognition to honor all the things they had done to serve us" The announcement was welcomed with so much hype from the crowd. Everyone was excited and was eagerly following every progress of the program. Everyone grabbed the flowers and gifts they prepared to throw into their favorite officers.
"First let me call on those officers from San Sebastian high" The calling of names were announced by school and so every officers from the same school gets a plaque at the same time. "We have Carlos Sux, Adelina Bell, Susane Bartolomeo…."
As their names were called, that particular student comes to the center aisle and receives his or her plaque. The San Sebastian officers were given a loud clap and cheering. Everybody tried to memorize their faces and names so they can congratulate them later because no picture taking occurred since all the camper's gadget were left at station zero. Although of course, there was a camera owned by the camp administration but the copies of the pictures will be exclusive only to them. Being a very exclusive and confidential school with very prominent students, Rivendell had always made sure that none of their students gets exposed to so much publicity so they made sure all the pictures in the camp were contained and will never be available to the media.
When it was time for Rivendell Academy's officers, the crowd become frantic. Not only that they'll get a glimpse of the Rivendell's students, they'll also anticipated Ziggorioh Montreal's appearance, so with the Diamond Prince.
"From Rivendell Academy we have Santino Mossec," When the name was called, a young vibrant and well-mannered boy appeared. Everyone looked at each other looking for confirmation whether someone had seen the boy roaming around the camp because it was the first time they had seen the boy.
"He was assigned at the kitchen. He was the main cook." Somebody told everyone and right then so many of them regret not going to the kitchen and made friends with him.
"He looked like Russian" The crowd discussed amongst each other.
"I think he has some relevance with Seban Mossec, the scientist." Someone concluded "Perhaps he is his son!"
"Possibly as everyone from Rivendell had some serious background!" The whispering and talks started when each Rivendell officers were revealed.
Five names were called after the first one and what the audience realized was that all their tasks were something that campers will not be able to socialize with them all the time — Cook, schedulers, technicians and supplies checker. [This-nove-belongs-to-Zijay-and-is-contracted-under-webnovel-dot-com] Perhaps Rivendell administration put them on the tasks where they won't be notice by campers as they do not get to see them in public except from the Montreal's young sire who was assigned in the camp clinic.
"Next is Ziggorioh Montreal," Ziggy's name was called and so he stepped in the center isle waiving. Of course, his entrance was sponsored by a loud cheer and some even threw flowers for him. Ziggy was one heck of a popular heir so no wonder he got so many admirers unlike the others. The staged was flooded with so much flowers and confetti that Ziggy's fandom threw off the moment he stepped in.
"Next we have the Huzey Montarini" The announcer paused before he added "Unfortunately the Diamond Prince is not here today to receive his plaque because of some important matters"
"What? That's a bummer!" The news made a lot of campers a little upset. They hoped to send the Diamond Price some honor for his services and throw him flowers just like they did to Ziggy, but he was not here today.
"Easy people. If you want to give the prince some gifts or flowers, we will reveal where his cabin is later so you can leave it there for him" The announcer tried to comforted the crowd. "Shall we move on?"
"Lastly we have… Xhemin Lae Dugmoch" the announcer said and paused when he realized the name was a bit off.
Does it not sound like a girl's name?
He scrutinized the paper guide he had in his hand and realized that he had read it right. Perhaps that's really the name of the next student. His parents could have given him a girl's name. Even the crowd wondered why the last Rivendell student's name sounded like a girl's name.
And right then, Xhemin entered the stage, her once messy bun was neatly laid on and there was a sense of steadiness when she walked in, as if all the storms in the world were just a whispering breeze before her and her deep ink eyes spoke of souls one could drown into. One look and everyone could tell, she equipped herself with too much courage to step out, as if she had been hiding for a long time.
When Xhemin entered the stage. Every dropped jawed. They were left stunned upon the fact that indeed the last name that was called belonged to a girl.
Xhemin noticed everyone's indifference, so was the shock that flashed before the announcer's face.

Friday at 5:00 in the afternoon, the sun was starting to set. Its fire like color was beginning to spread all over the sky. The heaven then was over- powered by the setting sun, with its striking shades which were painted above the earth.
Meanwhile, Leonie and her best friend Claire were busy writing their assignment in Math at the Student Center when Bhea arrived and approached their table. She was holding a piece of paper which she used while waving at them. 
"Guys, look at this. I think this is the answer to your problem Leonie." said Bhea while sitting beside Leonie. She was excited to show the pamphlet to the two girls. Then she handed it to Leonie who got curious on the content.
"Story- Blog Competition? I didn't have laptop or computer desktop to use." Leonie shrugged her shoulders and returned her attention instead to her notebook. She filled it with the formula in Algebra.
"Oh com' on, Leonie. I know you needed this badly." Claire wrapped her right arm on Leonie's shoulder. 
"Okay, why don't you use uhhmm….." Bhea said while her hand grabbed something inside her bag. When the search was over, she gave it to Leonie.
It was an old quill, a feather used for writing.
"Are you serious? Is this still functioning?" Leonie was amused by the quill. She played it, her fingers rubbed the soft feather.
"I think so. I just bought that yesterday in a garage sale." explained Bhea. She was remembering what the vendor told her.
"Make a wish before you use it, but only you must hear what you wish for. If your wish will be granted, then follow what it will ask you to do. That's what I only remember."  said Bhea sincerely.
 "Isn't weird? How can you use it, Leonie, if you don't have ink to fill it." Claire pointed at the bottom part of the quill. It was empty and seemed unused for a long time.
"Yah, right." Leonie was convinced it will not be used anymore. The quill was already antique and there are a lot of pen out there to use.
"If I cannot use it, shall I have it for display, Bhea?" Leonie was still holding the quill and very much interested to have it as a souvenir. 
"Sure, after all I will really give that to you as a gift coz It's your birthday tomorrow, girl!" giggled Bhea and kissed Leonie on her cheek.
"Happy birthday, best friend." Claire hugged her best friend and gave her also a kiss.
"Thank you, guys." 
In the corner of Leonie's eyes, tears began to congeal and fell. It flowed down on her rosy cheeks. She was overwhelmed with their gestures. These two were the only people who really believed in her ability as a writer. She remembered her father who didn't like her writing, and her mom who was insisting her to enroll in nursing school.
"Well, where are we going to celebrate it?" Bhea tried to change the atmosphere when she felt that Leonie was feeling down.
"Oh, cheer up Leonie. Let's celebrate your 18th birthday." Claire also insisted to change the mood.
The three left the school canteen and went to their favorite place, Pizza Casa, where their friendship started because of pizza and from then on, they always celebrated birthdays eating pizza, tacos, and spaghetti meatballs.

"Happy birthday! Sweet Leonie." Her Aunt Charrie gave her a kiss. 
She opened her eyes, the morning sun struck her face as her Aunt tied the curtains of the windows.
"Thanks, Tita." She rubbed her eyes and snuggled onto the blanket. She had a hard time waking up in the morning. Since it was her day, she would like to spend it on her bed.
"Aren't you going to celebrate your birthday, Leonie? You'd better get up there and spend the day with your friends." encouraged her Aunt.
"We already celebrated it yesterday, Tita. All I want is to sleep all day." Her eyes remained closed and she hugged her favorite pillow to signal that she would never get up. 
"What about your parents, aren't they going to call them?"Her Aunt was now pulling her blanket so she could get up.
When she heard about her parents, she straightened her body and opened her eyes. This time they were looking at the blank ceiling of her room.
It was only last night that she had a conversation with her parents. They were in abroad for more than five years. Being the only child, she was left under the care of her Aunt Charrie who chose to stay single.  
"Mom, I really wanted to become a writer. I wanted to be like J.K Rowling or Nicholas Sparks. Can't you understand how I feel." Her voice was still in control. She neither shout nor whisper, but it was full of hate and pain.
"No, Leonie. You don't understand. We want you to have a better future and you cannot have a good life in writing. There are many writers out there, but only few are remembered." Her Dad was discouraging her decision.
"If you will choose writing, then might as well know that we are not going to give you any centavo to pursue your disgusting dream, Leonie!" Her mother was determined not to support her career path after graduating in Senior High.
Tears fell down, she remembered her shattered dream. Leonie knew her parents were not joking, that they meant what they said.
"Are you okay, child?" Her Aunt sat beside her bed, then brushed her fingers on her long shiny black hair. She always did that to calm Leonie.
"We already talked last night. Let's not mind them anyway." The sound of her dull voice echoed through the walls of her room.
Leonie decided to get up. Her feet looked for her sleepers. Then those feet took her to the bathroom. She removed her underwear and let her body drenched through the running water from the shower faucet. She stayed there for an hour to cool her mind. She wanted to take away the hurt and frustration that crept to her heart.

Leonie is a student writer and the vice- president of their school’s literary club where she already published diverse creative fiction and nonfiction output. That summer, their school opened a competition about writing a story- blog where it will be followed by the school’s students and others who find the story very powerful. The student who will win the competition shall be given full scholar for the coming school year. With the power of the quill, she will write a story where she could change her life.

" - fire started in downtown Hargeon early this morning. The current witness reports all seem to claim they saw someone fleeing the scene, and the police are on high alert. No one has been able to come up with a matching description, and - "

A sigh left her lips as she dropped the remote control, a thoughtful expression on her face, and Lucy Heartfilia found herself annoyed. "What are people thinking?" she grumbled, removing herself from her swaddle of blankets. She shivered at the coolness of the air outside her warm little den. "There's no way that was arson...and why does it matter, anyways? The building was old and nobody was using it...ooh, not a bad setting idea…"

She grinned.

Nineteen years old and already a fairly well-known author through a pen name she didn't care to share, Lucy was doing well for a girl who'd run away from home two years before. She had no reason to have a job - writing was earning enough money for her - and fact was: she didn't really want one. She was enjoying her peaceful life, even if it was somewhat lonely. She had no friends - she didn't leave the apartment enough to even have friends - and she didn't want to even begin considering what would happen if her family found her.

She'd already changed countries once.

She didn't want to go around changing countries again.

Thank goodness the people under her father's influence weren't smart enough to look for her outside of her home country.

Lucy wandered through the apartment she'd been renting for the past two years now,pausing only to get dressed as quickly as she could before going to track down her keys. She found them exactly where she usually left them, in a bowl near the apartment door, placed there specifically so she couldn't lose them. She plucked up her phone, too, as she headed outside.

Lucy grimaced at the state of her old car. She'd purchased it as cheaply as she could - not even her female charms had been able to lower the price - and she was pretty sure that it would soon fall apart.

The young blonde sighed, brown eyes lowering to the ground in disappointment. Even if she was doing decently well with writing, and even if it was getting the money she needed, she didn't have enough to get an entirely new car. Maybe she'd bring it by one of those places that fixed cars up…

"Come on, Lucy," she scolded herself, climbing into the vehicle. "Get going."

Boredom was common when Lucy didn't have a decently good book to keep her occupied, so she often found herself driving around the city of Crocus. The capital of Fiore was an expensive place to live, but it wasn't too bad. She liked the business of it, enjoyed the fact that the rulers of the country lived within their castle at the center of it.

And the amount of people kept her hidden from the possibility of an ally of her father's seeing her.

Ugh, being a runaway was such a depressing mess of trying to stay hidden and unfound.

Grumbling, lip sticking out, Lucy nearly ran into the person that suddenly darted across the street in front of her. She slammed on the brakes, nearly too late to avoid hitting them. They yelped, leaping back, and Lucy stared in surprise at the strange attire they wore as they slammed their open palms on the hood of her already partially destroyed car with a furious look.

An open vest that showed off fairly toned muscles, and a strange set of bottoms to accompany the equally strange top wasn't nearly as weird as the scarf that was wrapped around his neck. It was scaled, gleaming in the sun, and Lucy frowned at the strange color of the man's hair. Who had pink hair? Certainly nobody else that she'd seen before...especially on guys… And then she realized his onyx eyes were glaring furiously into hers, and her own dark eyes narrowed as she rolled down her window, stuck her head out, and spat, "Watch where you're going!"

His response was instant and enraged. "Maybe you should watch where you're driving!"

Lucy felt the distant throb of a headache coming on. Today was just not going to be her day, apparently… Rubbing her temples, she called, "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to nearly run you over, even if one of us doesn't know how to look both ways before crossing the street."

He looked ready to explode at that and she had a brief moment of triumph that she'd made him speechless, especially when he clenched his jaw.

And then her eyes narrowed, zoning on his clenched fists. Was that...was that smoke rising from his fists? She opened her mouth to say something but an equally strangely dressed woman with long scarlet-colored hair suddenly came sprinting out of nowhere, snarling, "Natsu, go!" Her metallic armor gleamed in the sun, and Lucy frowned at them, noting how weird they looked in the normal looking city.

...cosplayers maybe?

Who knew, but she found herself curious. And wishing for the pencils he'd forgotten to bring with her. Again. Damn it. Her gaze locked onto the strange red symbol branded upon the guy's, Natsu's, shoulder and the red one stamped on the scarlet-haired woman's armor.

Natsu shot Lucy a final dirty look, then darted forward, the woman rushing after him. Only seconds later, a half-naked man with dark hair and that strange symbol in a dark blue color on his chest was racing after them, too, swearing loudly enough that Lucy raised an eyebrow.

Suddenly, she was alone, sitting at an empty intersection with a confused look on her face.

Shaking her head to clear it of the weirdness of what had just happened, Lucy moved to shift the gear of her car. Okay, that wasn't weird at all… Lucy flicked the blinker of her car on.

And then there was a huge explosion from only a buildings over. Lucy screamed in surprise, her dark eyes snapping up to stare at the sudden column of smoke that was billowing in the air, engulfing the area in its darkness. Her hands shook violently on the steering wheel and her head proceeded to turn in the direction the three cosplayers had gone.

...so maybe. Just maybe, they had done it?

Her hands itched to write now. Really itched.

She turned her car around and headed straight home.

The second she was at her laptop, she was researching. Her fingers tapped furiously at the keyboard, hunting for the symbol she'd seen on all three of them. And the only keyword she had was the one name: Natsu.

She scowled at the memory of him. He'd been such a jerk.

Yet here she was, typing in his name.

Nothing.

She scowled, resting her chin on her open palm and tapping her finger lightly on her desk in thought. Her stomach growled, reminding her that lunch was a distant memory from yesterday, but she pretended not to notice.

She sat like this for a while, typing various searches in, including things to do with the scarlet-haired woman, the strange scaled scarf, and even the half-naked guy she'd seen racing after them. But she still came up with nothing, and Lucy moaned in frustration, wishing for the first time in a while that she had the sources her father did.

She went through again, careful as she checked each link.

It took her a while, but finally she noticed something. One website kept popping up. Lucy clicked on it, paying careful attention to what the home page of the website said as she scanned through the words. When she got to the end of the introduction, she arched an eyebrow. Magic, huh? she thought, curious.

Ooh, how her mind was racing, coming up with a damn good idea that she wanted to turn into a novel that would hopefully outsell even her last book. So she did the first thing she could think of: she signed up for an account, carefully choosing to use her pen name rather than her real name to put into the boxes.

First Name: Layla

Her mother's name. She'd used it, knowing her mother wouldn't approve of her father's desperation to keep her under his controlling hand.

Last Name:Cor

That she had gotten from a translator, putting the "heart" bit of her last name in and coming out with a favored Latin word.

Gender: Female

Wasn't that obvious? The questions got weirder as she went along, but she was as truthful as possible in all of the boxes that were required. And only those that were required. If they weren't required, she didn't answer. It was a weird website, and she didn't want to give out too much information.

She waited until her account had been activated before looking deeper through the offered pages. Her head was spinning after just one of them and she reached to pull a notebook over, pencil dancing across the page...until she noticed her inbox for the site jumping up and down, showing that she had a message.

She clicked on it.

Lucy cocked her head, skimming through the message a second time before hesitantly doing as instructed and clicking on the survey. She had nothing better to do...right?

She went to work on filling out the survey, her eyebrows furrowing with confusion at each question. "What is this? What kind of magic do I use? Are you serious? Do I intend to join one of the guilds? Oh my gosh this is ridiculous." Scoffing, she backed out of it, instead returning to Mirajane Strauss' message and not bothering to hesitate before typing back.

Lucy sent it, then went back to work on scribbling down as much information she could get as quickly as she could get it. One magic in particular listed on the website caught her attention, and she tilted her head curiously before writing it down...just in time for her inbox to jump up and down again. She rushed to click on it.

Lucy bit her thumbnail, sitting back to read through another page on the site while she waited for Mirajane's answer. It was risky, asking someone you didn't know to meet with you so you could have questions answered, but so was the life of an interviewer who needed information. When she didn't get a response immediately, Lucy climbed to her feet and wandered off to get a cup of tea.

She'd received a response by the time she came back, tea in hand, and she flicked it with a yawn, glancing at the clock. Time was racing by, but she couldn't sleep. Not with limited time on the web site that was giving her so much inspiration.

Lucy laughed to herself. She liked Mira, and she'd been talking to her for less than an hour. It had been quite some time since she'd had so much fun talking to another human being…

mira: In answer to your question...who you are able to meet with in regards to questions depends on where you are currently stationed, live, or how far you are willing to travel. I am willing to meet you in Magnolia, where I, and quite a few more people who are able to answer any questions you have, live.

layla: Magnolia is quite a ways away from Crocus...but I'm willing to make the journey there.

mira: Oh, my! Crocus? I don't know why it surprises me… Of course an author as well-known as you lives there...anyhow! I am free at any time. There is a popular building near the train station that you may enjoy.

Lucy thanked her and bid her farewell, sipping at her tea as she sat back with a small sigh. At least if she was kidnapped, nobody would be there to care if she was missing other than herself, so…

Lucy rubbed the back of her head before setting her tea aside and picking up her pencil after cracking her knuckles. She had work to do before her twenty four hours ran out.

She began to write.

I'm so excited to start this! I've been working on this for months now! This is THE biggest project I've ever worked on - and that includes an eighty-six chapter fanfiction I wrote for my other account! I'm already on chapter forty-four at this point, and I don't think I'm even a quarter of the way done! ANYHOW. On to more important matters. Due to its massive size, BTL will be updating three times a week (hopefully). Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Some chapters may be a day or so late every now and then due to busy lives between myself and my lovely editor (who helps me create just about everything). Stella looked at his retreating back in confusion which soon disappeared from her line of sight. She shifted her gaze towards the table and picked up the files and envelopes from it before heading back to her room.
Sitting down in the center of the long sized bed with her legs crossed, she picked up the two envelopes. She shifted her eyes from the small brown one to the large white one, as she decided which one to open first since both of the envelopes were sealed. She focused her eyes on the top left corner of the envelopes and saw a number written in black on both of them. 
'1...2!' She trailed her line of sight from one envelope to the other and then back to the first one as she observed the single number written on each. It was obvious that someone had clearly added those to the envelopes. Shrugging her shoulders, she decided to look at the contents of the envelope which was labeled as '1'. She grabbed the top of the brown envelope and ripped the seal carefully as she didn't want to ruin whatever it had inside it. 
Stella looked inside only to find a single paper which was neatly folded in a rectangular shape as to fit inside the envelope. Pulling it out, she undid the foldings and as soon as she did, her eyes landed on the handwritten note. Well, it was more of a proper letter than a note as it covered almost the entire length of the paper. 
Her eyes teared up as she looked at the familiar handwriting. Blinking her tears away, she began to read it. 
'Hey, My Sunshine!
If you are reading this letter then congratulations, Mrs. Adam Levinson. Oh! How much I wish to call you that myself instead of writing these words. But never mind, there will be a day that I will be able to do that, hopefully. My lawyer must have already explained about the papers to you, he's a man whom you can trust blindly. No one besides you can understand better why I did what I did. I needed to make sure that you are fine when I am gone.
Now, coming to us, I am sorry my baby girl. But I give you my word that I will find my way back to you, always. It may take me some time, but I will. I don't know myself for what reason, this letter may find its way to you. But you need to keep your shit together. And stop with the crying already. You don't look good with those puffy, red eyes. I would always prefer a smile on that beautiful face of yours. And don't forget to look after yourself, please, for me.

Stella continued to look at the letter as tears rolled down her face. After a while she neatly folded the letter again along the previous creases and put it back inside the envelope. With her tear stained face, she picked up the white envelope. 
After ripping it's seal she opened it and emptied it's contents on the sky colored satin sheets. Looking through the contents, she realized it was their marriage certificates and her renewed documents, including her driving license and identity card, stating Adam as her husband. She looked at her own name and found it weird, 'Stella Levinson.' It would definitely take her some time to get used to it. 
She wiped her tears and began to arrange the documents but stopped in her tracks when her gaze fell on a greeting card. It had congratulations written on the front. She picked it up and opened it only for eyes to tear up again. 
A platinum ring having a large oval shaped diamond in it's center, was securely placed in the centre of the card with the help of a red ribbon. She untied the knot and brought it close to her face as she observed it. Her eyes shifted to the other side of the card which had something written on it in the same familiar writing. 
'You didn't think that I meant the ring which is already resting on your dainty ring finger? I am not that stingy.' 
His words made a smile bloom over her tear stained face. She couldn't help the hearty laugh which escaped her lips which resonated through the silence of the room. 
"This man is definitely something." She muttered to herself as she slid on the ring on her ring finger, making it rest right next to the ring which Adam had proposed to her with. 
She looked around her and heaved out a tired sigh as her eyes landed on the number of papers and files surrounding her. "Let's put you guys somewhere safe." She murmured under her breath and began to pick them up, arranging them in order at the same time. 
Once was sure that she wasn't leaving anything behind, she headed out of the room and made her way straight to his study. After stepping inside the room, she looked for the picture frame which had a picture of a lone lily flower and made her way towards it. There frame was actually hung over a secret safe which was camouflaged with the rest of the wall. Only Adam's and her thumb print can unlock it. 
After placing the files and documents securely inside the secret safe, she headed back to her room. She surely needed some rest after straining her mind so much to process today's event. 
She changed into her night wear which consisted of a wide legged, white pajamas with black stripes running along its length and a white full sleeved t-shirt which was too big for her.
As soon as she buried herself inside two layers of woolen comforters, a yawn escaped her lips. She thought through the day's event again, thinking about the future at the same time. She knew that she couldn't continue to stay back at home, she had to do something. Something for their future. With these thoughts running through her mind, she soon drifted off to her dreamland as her tired body couldn't take it anymore.

The next morning, 
A slender figure moved under the comforters as the bright rays of the Sun landed on the lady's pretty face, bringing her out of her wonderful dreamland and back to the cruel world. Groaning in frustration, Stella threw the covers away as she sat up straight. Her sleepy eyes shifted to the wall clock and her face brightened up instantly. An evil smile crept on her lips as the gears of her devilish mind began to run. 
She jumped out of the bed and grabbed her phone straight away. Putting in the password, she unlocked it and look for a certain someone's contact info. Her eyes lit up once she found what she was looking for. She hit the dial option on the screen and put the phone next to her ear, waiting for the person on the other end to pick it up.

I plan to post 5 chapters (might change to 10 if many were asking. I am capable of writing 10 chapters with 1500+ words per chapter. Two chapters in one day. I still had no sense of what is right with what i had set up so, i hope i will get some feedback about it. I did look at other web novel writer on patr3on and i still had no idea the right way to do this T_T. I actually plan to write another story while writing this one. So I made a P atreon since I figured I would stick with writing this story regularly almost like a full-time job. No one is required to support me, and the chapters will be released as normal to the best of my ability. I'm still a college student, so obviously grades come first. I can't hold a conventional job right now due to my back, so any funding from the story would be great, but again not necessary. 

My hope is to raise enough money to hire an editor to review and fix my chapters before posting to increase the quality of my writing.

Nathan followed the convoy and arrived at a town.

He was invisible as he stood in front of the entrance and there was a post on the side that read, Welcome To Corn Town.

The town itself wasn't big, but it had a vast array of fields for different kinds of crops, mainly corn, hence its name.

Some of the walls that circulated around the town were made up of large broken vehicles, concrete, thick logs and other things.

There were also a number of wooden watchtowers being built that he could hear the sound of machinery and the pounding of a hammer from a distance.

The town didn't have a proper source of electricity.

Instead, the people here were using a diesel-fueled generator to light up some parts of the town.

As he stood there, the knot in his stomach that he felt earlier became stronger.

A strong urge to turn away and ran welled up inside of him.

A voice suddenly spoke inside his head.

'Go on. Leave. What are you waiting for?'

Nathan gritted his teeth.

'Weren't you procrastinating all this time because you didn't care about anyone?'

He clenched his fists.

'Aren't you a lone wolf?'

He tried to move his feet forward.

'Oh, come on. Stop forcing yourself. You know that this isn't what you want.'

"Shut up."

'You know that nothing good is waiting for you inside.'

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

He was finally able to move his feet forward and entered the town.

The voice inside his head stopped as well.

However, he still felt a knot in his stomach.

Nathan was headed to the center of the town.

Earlier, he climbed one of the buildings nearby to get a layout of the town.

He noticed there was a large bonfire in the middle and there were people gathered around it as if they were waiting for a spectacle to happen.

After seeing it and climbing down, he consciously didn't run there immediately.

Despite having the courage to enter the town, there were still some things that were gnawing at him so he decided to just walk.

With each step, his feet felt heavier that it was almost like he was dragging them.

He even lost count on how many times he tried to convince himself that Amir wasn't here and was instead somewhere else.

Perhaps in the sewers, perhaps in another town, another city -- anywhere, as long as it wasn't here.

Nevertheless, he continued to head towards the center of the town.

He finally arrived at the center of the town…

A crowd was gathered around a large bonfire. 

Inside the circle, there was a Caucasian man in his mid-20s holding a bloodied dagger.

Behind him were four people tied to a post next to the bonfire. 

The four people were a Caucasian man in his early 50s, a Caucasian woman in her late 40s, an Asian man in his late teens, and a mixed-race little boy who was no older than 10 years old.

They were barely naked and were covered with many cuts and bruises, and were also missing a few parts of their body.

The man in his early 50s was missing two legs and a nose.

His neck was sliced open and was already dead.

Meanwhile, the other 3 were severely injured and looked like they could die any minute.

The woman had her eyes dug out and her tongue cut off.

The man in his late teens was missing an arm and a leg and had one of his ears cut off.

And lastly, the child had one eye and his teeth removed.

One can only imagine what kind of horrific tortures they've experienced.

Among the crowd, there there were a few that were wearing System items.

"I am your master! Those who choose to disobey me will face death!" said the man holding the bloodied dagger.

No one said a word, while the few people that were wearing System items sneered.

"You!" the man said as he pointed to someone among the crowd.

It was a young Caucasian boy.

The boy's eyes widened in horror and had a strong urge to hide behind his mother but chose not to.

"Do you see me as your master?" the man said.

The boy nodded.

"Then come to me."

The boy looked at his mother behind him.

His mother nodded.

He summoned all of his courage and stepped forward.

The man smiled and offered the dagger to the boy.

"Prove to me your loyalty."

The boy's hand trembled and he slowly took the dagger from the man's hand.

As the boy held the dagger on his trembling hands, he could see his own reflection on the blade.

His face was pale as a ghost.

"Louie! Just do it!" said the woman behind him.

"You heard your mother, boy," said the man.

Louie looked at his mother and then to the man.

His eyes were cold and a sinister smile was plastered on his face.

Louie tightened his gripped around the dagger's handle and approached one of the people tied to the post.

The person he approached was the young boy who was no older than 10 years old.

The bruised and wounded boy tied to post looked at Louie and forced a weak and toothless smile.

Louie looked away.

This boy in front of him was his schoolmate and one of his friends.

"My body hurts… End it…" the young boy pleaded.

Louie tightly shut his eyes and said, "I'm sorry, Cris," before slicing the young boy's neck.

Slit!

Blood poured down from the young boy's neck and he died after a few seconds.

The man started clapping his hands.

Clap!

Clap!

Clap!

"Very good! Very good!"

The man looked at the people.

The crowd started clapping as well.

Clap!

The man made a gesture with his hand, ordering the people stopped clapping.

He went over to the boy and took the dagger.

"You have pleased this master. Now, let me present my gift to you for your loyalty."

He snapped his fingers.

Snap!

On one side of the crowd, people made way for an incoming group.

There were three people and each of them was walking with a human-dog on a leash.

These "human-dogs" had their limbs chopped off but just enough to let them crawl or walk on four legs. 

Their eyes were dug out, their teeth pulled out and their hair completely shaved off.

They were also naked. The only piece of clothing they had was the leash on their neck that was attached to a chain.

There were 2 women and 1 man.

The man was a Muwinian.

Meanwhile, the two women, one was Caucasian and the other was black.

The three human-dogs were led in front of the man and Louie.

"Choose one pet. Don't worry, they have been trained. Whatever you want them to do, they will do it," the man said and smiled.

Louie was horrified by the sight.

The human-dogs were literally acting like dogs.

They had their tongues out and showing off their private parts.

Louie gathered up all of his courage and pushed all his fears away.

"I choose that one, master."

He pointed at the black woman.

The man made a signal and the black woman human-dog was brought to Louie.

As soon as the black woman human-dog got next to Louie, it immediately pressed its nose against his groin area and started licking.

"Enjoy your pet. Run along now," the man said and smiled.

Louie returned to his mother's side along with the human-dog pet.

"Who else here wants to prove their loyalty to this master?" the man said as he swept his gaze over at the crowd.

A black man raised his hand.

"I would like to prove my loyalty to you, master."

The man smiled.

"Then come over here!"

Nathan, who was invisible, stood silently as he watched in horror.

His face was as pale as a ghost.

He recognized two of the human dogs.

One was Amir and the other was the black woman.

When he saw his own cousin crawling and acting like a dog, that imaged burned right through his skull and left him completely aghast.

In Nathan's mind, although he did some sick and sadistic things, what he saw tonight was on a completely different level.

At least with him, he kills his enemies right away once they served their purpose.

But to break someone's spirit, strip them off of their dignity and let them live like that, that was something just too cruel, too diabolical even for him.

Time continued to pass and the gathering finally came to an end…

People returned to their homes to call it a night while a few others patrolled the area.

The flashes of lightning and the sound of thunder became more frequent. 

It was going to rain soon.

Nathan continued standing still, staring blankly and still processing what just happened.

'Am I to blame for all of this?'

'But I almost died from the D1 so I had no choice to power up.'

'After that, I was blackmailed by Rose and she tried to kill me.'

'And then the Divine Tower appeared and I couldn't just ignore it.'

'I even almost died inside there twice.'

'There's no way it can be my fault.'

'I'm simply a victim of circumstances here.'

His mind drifted away and he recalled a memory…

This is my first fanfic. I've read a lot of fanfic in web novels as well as other sites, so I thought to try writing my own fanfiction. I'm a beginner in writing so please bear with my mistakes. Now, moving on to the important stuff. Please keep these points in mind when reading this novel:
1. The Main Character will be Neutral, a bit selfish but good to those he considered as his friends. He will do anything he can to be strong but he won't harm his friends to achieve his goal.
(For example, In One Piece world, MC won't go out of his way to kill all the celestial dragon in the name of justice crap. I'll have MC rather seduce a celestial dragon to gain access to different resources. Pirates and Government are both evils in my opinion, so choose the less evil to work with till you get stronger :D )
2. No NTR. I hate Netorare. So, don't expect to see it here. I may include some Netori but definitely no Netorare.
3. MC will only have 2-3 harems per world. Don't expect the MC to catch all the women like pokemon. I only choose strong women in the harem, so don't expect to see some whiny and weak woman (Like Rias, Sakura, etc.)
4. I won't try to nerf the MC as much as I can. But, when starting a new world, MC may weaken and outright reborn (Law bullsh*t or whatever reason I will use). This is for MC to learn new stuff and gain more power.
5. I hate overpowered OC antagonist that suddenly pops out of nowhere more than I hate nerfed MC. I'll likely never use an OC antagonist but if I ever used it then I'll at least try to make it don't ruin the story.
6. I'm not an intelligent writer, so I may make some dumb mistakes. So, when MC makes a dumb mistake then don't flame my comment section :3 It will help me not making the same mistake in the future.
