The year 44BC Julius Caesar is dead and as rebellion divides Italy and Britain, a roman centurion and a Celtic princess forge a bond no woman or man can rend as under to ensure peace between her tribe and their savage conquerors.

William Hughes had a pretty good life, he thought. He had every material possession he could ever want, he had gotten top marks in all his classes, maintained good friendships, and spent the majority of his time being happy. He was even able to play video games in his spare time. More recently he'd gotten into Cambridge University for theology, and in the past week he'd been given a scholarship and accepted into the Gentleman's Order of the Coffee-Stained Page. Sure, there were times he broke down and said to himself that he had no future, that he was the worst man he'd ever heard of, but everyone had those moments, right?
The Order was a group of scholars who ran the university's library, and received generous grants for their research. Historically they were known as the mystical Scholar's Guild, who were able to find books no-one had ever heard of, and were even believed to have been demon-slayers of some kind. It was a huge honour to be accepted into their hallowed ranks. 
It had been a difficult choice for Will to start a theology class in the Divinity Faculty on account of his existing faith being in Wicca, but his thirst for knowledge had led him to the area he knew least about, and he'd been to Cambridge before and found a good amount of occult believers, as well as one great occult shop. 
He certainly didn't regret his decision once he received the gargantuan sum from his scholarship and the Order, and having the keys to the library together with a vote for their purchases was a great boon also. Today he was perusing the shelves for a copy of the Malleus Maleficarum. He wished it wasn't included on the syllabus - it was a truly vile and ignorant depiction of witchcraft from a medieval Christian perspective - he had a mind to show his lecturers the Grimoire of Turiel just to set them straight on the true Christian thoughts on magic. 
He picked up the Maleficarum, but another book on the same shelf caught his eye. 'Magic and Sorcery for the Novice Guild Member'. The binding looked ancient, yet still sturdy. The title was embossed in gold lettering and when he picked it out, the cover was hand-painted with a variety of symbols - many of which Will knew, but some were a mystery. He decided to take the book out, if only to research the book itself. The "Guild" it was referring to seemed likely to be the Scholar's Guild that was the foundation of the Order. 
He resolved to question the president later. Meanwhile he took the two books to the counter and signed them out.
"Hey, watcha got there, Will?" Will's closest friend in the Order had just entered the library.
"Something rather interesting, James. I had to get the Maleficarum for my class, but I found this thing on the same shelf. I believe it's been here since before the Order."
"That's not so special. Let me take a look." He walked over to where will was standing and suddenly rushed into action, flipping through pages frantically, totally absorbed.
"This is incredible. From the theories detailed in here, it actually looks like magic might be possible. Like Harry Potter style magic. It says you need a Grimoire though. Some kind of decorated tool, by the looks of it. Or maybe a book, it does mention pages."
"You don't know what a Grimoire is? It is a book, specifically a book that details all of its owner's spells. What, does it have instructions for making one?"
"Yeah, it's really in-depth. This is complicated. There's a lot of uhhhh... Ingredients?"
"Oh? Like what?"
"Apart from the obvious, seems like a load of spices and herbs. They're supposed to stimulate the brain in different ways to help you focus on different aspects of a spell."
"I've never heard of using them in a Grimoire, but herbs and spices are used in similar ways in Wiccan magic too. I'd be interested to see what could turn that into 'Harry Potter magic' as you called it." They said their goodbyes and Will carried the books back to his dorm. He still had some daylight left, so he made a note of everything he would need for the Grimoire and set out buying them. By the time he got to the occult shop, he already had everything he would need for the book itself: wood, resin, papyrus and string. He'd wanted to get velum as mentioned in the instructions, but it was hard to source and frowned upon in the modern day, so he settled for a high quality Egyptian papyrus instead of cheap paper. He knew that ingredients of spells in Wicca were often interchangeable so long as they had the same properties, so he hoped it would be as acceptable with this type of magic. He found the rest of what he needed very quickly, but he could never leave this shop without buying more than he'd intended, so he picked up a deck of tarot cards and a crystal pendulum too. Thanking the owner, he returned to his dorm and began work on his Grimoire.
"Okay, so we have sage, cumin, cinnamon, turmeric and mugwort. That's a pretty basic formula for beginners, and besides the sage, they all have strong and distinct smells. I won't change the recipe for the moment, but it's worth noting that I might be able to expand my repertoire by adding more properties in scent-based ingredients." He had some old leather lying around, so once he'd applied the resin design to the ash wood cover and bound the pages to it, he carefully chased the leather onto the cover. Following this, he copied the symbols and spells meticulously from the book. The final step in the instructions was to cast a spell using symbols on the cover of the book, to bind it to the owner. 
He hurriedly grabbed his paints and brushes, knocking over his coffee table on the way. Once he'd finished inscribing the symbols, he recited the suggested incantation. The book glowed with a soft white light. The light gradually spread across Will's vision, and when it faded he realised his eyes had closed. Opening them, he jumped and slammed into his back wall. A creature was floating above the Grimoire with jagged wings and a sharp, toothy grin. Will stood up and flattened himself against the wall in fear.
"What are you?" He cried.
"Hahaha. My name is Angelo. I am a fairy demon bound to you by this book. If I'm honest, I've been following you for a while because your soul looks tasty. If I had known you would be building a Grimoire today I would have taken it already." He had an untrustworthy glint in his eyes. 
"Well, I'm grateful you didn't, but what's stopping you from taking it now?"
"Is it not obvious? The Grimoire. When you completed it, you bound me to you. If you get hurt, the book gets damaged, and if the book gets damaged, we both get hurt. I cannot take your soul because it would kill me. I have no choice but to protect you now."
"Okay, so what do I do now? Can I just cast spells now, do I need to sleep on it, is there a vow I need to take?"
"As a matter of fact, there is. Turn the page, it should be there." Will obeyed, and found that the page was largely empty, aside from one short paragraph. The demon chanted with him. 
"I vow to protect the people in all my power. I vow to improve myself so that my enemies may never best me. I vow to learn and to teach so that I may have a strong force to defend my city and my country. Lastly, as we live by the Book now, so do we die by the Book. This is the Scholar's Pledge belonging to the Magus Guilds."

A reclusive group of scholars discover a secret in their library and it drags them into a fight they were not ready for.

The next morning, Gerald and Cana left the Guild after having a quick and tasty breakfast. The meal was courtesy of Makarov, of course. Free food always tasted better. Both of them agreed on that as they rubbed their bellies.
Cana led the way to Nelos Arms with a skip in her step. She had gone on a few jobs with the other Guild members her age, but it was mostly out of necessity.
Today, Cana was going on a C-rank job that she could've handled on her own with ease. She had done multiple of those item retrieval jobs before, and she had completed them alone. Yet, she had invited Gerald for this one. She liked spending time with him, even though he was a bit quieter than she preferred, but that was because he didn't have that much to talk about. He didn't have any stories to tell of his adventures. This would change today, and she would make sure of that.
The kids in the Guild weren't allowed to take B-rank jobs on their own. They had to have at least one more teammate for those jobs. Only Erza and Mira were permitted to take B-rank jobs on their own, but that's because those two were monsters. She could understand Erza since she had seen her train like a madman for the past three years, but Mira was a different story. The eldest Strauss had so much Magic Power, a strong Magic, and so much talent. It wasn't fair. Cana also had a lot of Magic Power, but why didn't she have a strong natural Magic? She had been stuck with her Card Magic, and she had been content with for so long. Maybe it was time to add a different Magic to her repertoire.
Cana looked at her new friend, who was the main reason for changing her mindset. Gerald also had Card Magic, but the first chance that he got, he started learning another Magic. He wasn't satisfied with the cards that he was dealt with and wanted more. Maybe she should follow his example. There were so many books in the archive of Fairy Tail, at least one or two should work for her, right? Even if they don't, she could try to get inspiration from Gerald's Card Magic. Traping powerful monsters in her cards and using them to fight for her sounded like a good idea. As long as she finds a way to control them.
"Is there something wrong?" Gerald asked. Cana had been staring at him for a while now.
"Nope! I'm just happy we are going on a job together," Cana answered with a bright smile and looked away. Gerald had to physically restrain himself from reaching out and ruffling her hair.
"Annnd, we are here!" Cana exclaimed as they reached Nelos Arms. The armory was a small store with a sign above the door that had its name proudly written for everyone to see.
"Welcome to..." A tall and muscled man with black hair and wearing nothing but pants greeted them.
"Nelos Arms!" A carbon copy of the man jumped out from behind him.
"I'm Nel!"
"I'm Os!"
"We are the Blacksmith Twins!"
"And this our shop!"
Gerald and Cana shared a knowing look before the girl turned to the blacksmiths and showed them their job request. "We are mages from Fairy Tail."
The two blacksmiths narrowed their eyes and observed the kids in front of them. One was a boy with messy brown hair, green eyes, and simple clothes that had seen better days. The other was a girl with long brown hair and large brown eyes. She had switched out of her dress for the job. Cana now sported a yellow shirt and beige shorts that were actually shorts, unlike the ones Mira wore. She had a pink belt around her waist with two holsters that were holding her cards attached to it. And finally, she had a brown bag over her shoulders.
"You two are mages?" Nel asked. He wasn't expecting kids to take their job request. He knew that there were a couple powerful ones in Fairy Tail since they had made a name for themselves already, but he didn't recognize the two in front of him.
"We can handle ourselves," Gerald replied. He saw the doubting look of the blacksmith duo and picked one of his cards. "Celtic Guardian."
The appearance of the elf warrior startled the two. Especially since he was even taller and bigger than them, but the moment their eyes landed on his armor and sword, they lit up brightly.
"Oh, my!"
"Indeed!"
They were circling him around like little kids.
"This sword..."
"Remarkable craftsmanship."
"And the shoulder and breastplates..."
"Indeed, green metal like that is not common around here."
Both of them had reached out, just about to touch Celtic Guardian, when the elf warrior dissipated into white participles. The two turned to Gerald with dejected faces, looking as if he had just robbed them blind of their fortune.
"We can handle ourselves," Gerald repeated. He might not have confidence in his own abilities, but he trusted those of his summons. Celtic Guardian had saved his life once, and although he hadn't seen Le Fay in action, he was sure that she was special.
'Of course, I'm special, silly Master. I'm a magician, after all.'
Gerald almost faltered in his steps even though he was standing in one place. Fay had explained to him that she and the others can speak to him telepathically only right after they've been unlocked. After they've been summoned once, they will lose that ability. So, how was she able to do it now?
'It's because I studied, silly Master.'
He remembered that one of the first dozen books that Fay read was Telepathy. That meant that she had already learned a Magic while he was at about 40% done with Archive. Yeah, she definitely is special. Now the question was if she had learned any other Magic as well? That was one scary thought. The only answer he received was the sweet giggle of Le Fay in his mind.
"...and the guards we had hired ran back to the city to inform us of what had happened." The two blacksmiths had explained the job while Gerald was lost in thought.
"So, a pack of feral lizardmen. Shouldn't be that tough," Cana remarked. There were two types of lizardmen in Earth Land. Intelligent ones that lived in tribes and were treated like humans. And feral ones, who were barbaric and were treated like monsters.
"We will send five of our own men with you and a caravan. Once you deal with the lizardmen, they will collect our inventory and let you choose two of the items. And we will be willing to pay you an additional 10, 000 Jewels if you agree to guard the caravan until it arrives at Oak Town."
"Deal!" Before Gerald could try to bargain for more, Cana had agreed. The money didn't matter that much to her since she had two weeks until she had to pay rent. What mattered was that she got the opportunity to spend more time with him while traveling Fiore.
Nel or maybe it was Os, shook hands with Cana to finalize the deal. With that, the two Fairy Tail mages got onto the caravan that led them to their destination.
It took them roughly about an hour to reach there, and on the way, the guard had told him exactly what had happened. Apparently, a large pack of lizardmen had been passing by the road, heading to a nearby forest, when they encountered the caravan. They were all armed with sticks and stones, but there were over 40 of them while there were only ten guards, including the coachman. Their numbers were too much, and after five of the guards had died, the rest had run away. They weren't sure how many lizardmen they had taken down, but they believed to be around ten or so.
"So, are we supposed to look through the entire forest?" Gerald asked.
"Nope," Cana said while shuffling a deck of cards. "Choose a direction and pick a card." She spread the cards for him.
"Fortune-telling?"
"Fortune-telling!" Cana nodded.
Gerald pointed randomly, picked a card, and showed it to her. "Nope, choose another direction and pick another card," Cana said after shuffling the deck one more time.
A bit of trial and error later, she exclaimed. "That's the way!"
Gerald summoned Celtic Guardian and made him act as the vanguard. The elf warrior was more than happy to finally be able to help his Master. He had failed him once and would make sure that never happens again.
The three walked towards the direction Gerald had pointed earlier, and it didn't take them long to encounter their first lizardmen when they neared a cave. Two green-scaled humanoid creatures, who were as tall as an adult human with weapons in their hands, rushed towards them.
Celtic Guardian didn't waste any time and dashed to meet them head-on. His honor as a warrior was hurt when he was slain by the bandit leader, and he had to reclaim his pride. He had to prove his worth to his Master. And that he did.
The lizardmen carried weapons, but that didn't mean they knew how to use them. Celtic Guardian, on the other hand, was swordsman with honed skills. With his first attack, he disarmed one of the lizardmen, and with his second, he chopped his head off. The other lizardman swung his sword at the elf warrior, but Celtic Guardian blocked it with ease before stabbing him through the chest.
"Wow!" Cana exclaimed.
'Wow indeed,' Gerald though. Celtic Guardian's skill with the sword was nothing to scoff at.
They didn't have the time to marvel at the elf warrior's abilities since they heard growling and hissing of more lizardmen coming from the cave. That was followed by footsteps that were moving towards their direction.
'Call upon me, Master, and let me slay those heathens that dare raise their hand against you!' A hissing voice sounded in Gerald's head.
His eyes widened in surprise. Another card had been unlocked. Gerald pulled out his cards, and one of them was no longer blank. On it, there was a lizardman wearing red-spiked armor with a saber in his hand.
'Say my name, Master, and I will slay those heathens in your name!'
Gerald knew that he could sustain one summon for about one hour as long as he didn't need to use any additional Magic Power. He didn't know how long he could sustain two, but he obliged the request of his new card. "Alligator's Sword!"
Cana was surprised by the sudden light when a lizardman in red armor appeared in front of them. Celtic Guardian was the silent type, but the same couldn't be said about Alligator's Sword.
"Rarara! I will slay you all for attacking my Master! Rarara!" After his battle cry, he rushed out to meet the lizardmen and show them their place.
Cana blinked a few times, startled by Gerald's new summon, before a grin formed on her face. "I can't let them hog all the glory, right?"
With her cards in her hand, she followed behind Alligator's Sword. Cana was a mid-range fighter, and she was like a fish in the water. Celtic Guardian and Alligator's Sword were taking the lizardmen head-on while she had hardened her cards with her Magic Power and threw them like shurikens. Not a single one of their enemies had come even close to her since the two warriors were keeping the attention of the lizardmen on them. Alligator's Sword was doing a particularly good job at that.
"Die! Die! Die!"
"For my Master!"
"Pathetic heathens!"
Every single one of his attacks was followed by his words. He was a complete opposite of Celtic Guardian in that regard. The elf warrior didn't say a thing while he was mowing his way through the lizardmen.
Their fighting styles were also nothing alike. Celtic Guardian used precise strikes without any wasted movements, while Alligator's Sword was wildly swinging his saber like a hurricane. But the one thing they had in common was that both of them were skilled warriors the lizardmen couldn't compare to.
"I don't care about your so-called God!" Alligator's Sword spat out after he chopped the head of a lizardman. "I will slay him in the name of my Master! Die! Die! Die! Rarara!."
It didn't take them more than ten minutes to deal with all the lizardmen that were coming out fo the cave. Celtic Guardian and Alligator's Sword were covered in blood as they walked up to Gerald, who hadn't moved since the start of the fight. Not like there was much that he can do since he didn't know how to fight.
"Are you pleased, Master?" Alligator's Sword asked with an expectant look and snapped Gerald out of his daze. The fight might have lasted around ten minutes, but to him, it felt like it was a few seconds.
"Uhm, yes. You did well," Gerald praised them and saw that Celtic Guardian had the same look, so he continued. "Both of you."
"That was... amazing!" Cana exclaimed. This might as well been her easiest monster extermination quest. Feral lizardmen weren't considered a large threat since they didn't have any magical abilities, but she had expected a tougher fight. No, that couldn't have even been considered a fight. That was a slaughter. Both warriors could've probably taken all the lizardmen out on their own without much problem. Gerald's summons were a lot stronger than what she had imagined.
"ROAR!!!!!!" They didn't have the time to celebrate as a large green-scaled lizard made its appearance. The monster was as large as two grizzly bears put together. Attached to its arms and sharp-clawed hands, were rippled and torn webbed-wings. The lizard let out another monstrous roar as it stared at the pesky humans that had killed its slaves.
'Master summon me now!' Gerald heard Le Fay alarmed voice in his mind. He wasn't sure if she was scared of the creature or scared of his safety. Either way, he didn't ask her and trusted her judgment.
Gerald first willed Alligator's Sword and Celtic Guardian to dissipate before summoning Le Fay. "Dark Magician Girl."
There wasn't any of her usual antics when she appeared. She didn't twirl around, nor did she wink at Gerald. Fay was focused on the creature that threatened the life of her Master. It might be just an adolescent Wyvern, but it was still a monster that Gerald and Cana couldn't handle. They didn't have any abilities that could pierce its tough scales. Alligator's Sword and Celtic Guardian would also have a tough time taking it on. They would only end up draining Gerald's Magic Power while healing from injuries that the Wyvern would cause them.
Fay, on the other hand, was a mage. Her firepower was uncomparable to her Master's other summons. The only thing limiting her abilities was Gerald's Magic Power, and judging by her senses should be at around 60%. More than enough for her to take out the Wyvern.
"Darkness Magic: Dark Binding!" Le Fay pointed with her wand, and a magical circle appeared underneath the Wyvern. Hand like appendages made of darkness appeared and grabbed ahold of the monster. Gerald lost 10% of his Magic Power with that spell.
"ROAR!!" The Wyvern struggled and resisted, trying to break free from its binding, but Fay was already preparing her another magic. A magic circle larger than even the Wyvern appeared in front of her. The Wyvern's eyes widened in fear sensing the large amount of Magic Power coming from the magic circle.
"Darkness Magic: Dark Devastation!" A massive beam made of purple energy shot out and hit the Wyvern straight on the face. 40% of Gerald's Magic Power was taken from him in an instant, and he dropped on his knee.
The spell caused a dust cloud to appear, and once it dispersed, they were able to see the remains of the Wyvern's body. Its legs and arms were the only things left. The rest was obliterated from the attack.
Le Fay had immediately dematerialized after casting her spell, not willing to drain her Master's Magic Power more than needed to.
'I'm sorry, Master. I wasn't sure if a weaker spell would do the job.' She apologized even though she saved their life.
"Holy Crap!" Cana yelled out. "The blond is THAT strong!" Cana had met her once, and the entire time, Le Fay had spent reading books and sitting in Gerald's lap. She thought that the blond was nothing more than a bookworm. She was wrong, however.
Cana then noticed that Gerald was breathing hard and helped him up. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, just running low on Magic Power. I will be fine after a short rest." He took a few deep breaths and said. "Let's go and call the guards, so they can collect the inventory from the lizardmen."
'Roar!' Gerald heard a weak cry in his head and checked his cards when he got his bearings straight.
'Interesting.' He thought. 'This could be useful later.'
After the guards collected all the inventory, Gerald selected a sword and a saber as a reward since Cana didn't like any of the items. He planned on getting some weapon training from Alligator's Sword and Celtic Guardian after his finishes learning Archive. The entire fight he hadn't even moved a muscle, and that didn't sit well with him. He felt useless even though it was his summons that had done most of the job. He swore to change that.
They climbed on the caravan, and after a safe one-hour-long journey, they reached Oak Town. They were given 30, 000 Jewels as a reward, and the guards bid them goodbye after thanking them.
"Want to explore the town and help me find a clothing store?" Gerald asked.
"Yes!" Cana was more than happy to agree.
Oak Town was a medieval-looking town that was situated on a hill with a castle built at the highest peak. The two had a fun time exploring the city. Gerald bought some new clothes, discarded his old ones, and after they ate in a restaurant, the two were ready to leave for Mongolia.
"Want to return back in style?" Gerald asked with a grin.
"What do you have in mind?"
He smirked and pulled out his new card. "Baby Dragon!" An orange-scaled dragon, a bit smaller than a bear, materialized in front of them.
"How about by riding on a dragon?"
"No. Freaking. Way!"

A boy wakes up in the world of Fairy Tail with a peculiar set of cards.

Traditional Witchcraft is a massive umbrella, it's so large it is hard to keep track of which area/belief/tradition you're talking about unless you specifically mention a region and or tradition.
Another Traditional Witch I spoke to described it like this 'There are thousands of Traditional Witchcraft practices out there, there is a different tradition every square mile' none of these traditions are wrong because they aren't the same - they are right because that is what those people believe and work with on a daily basis.
Traditional Witchcraft is mostly an Operative magical practice a.k.a 'Get it done' - it is a Craft or Skill, a physical interaction to cause/promote change within the natural world - this description does not exclude Ritualistic Magic for some traditions embrace ritual work. But at the end of the day, it is Folklore based, passed down from practitioner to practitioner, researched/learned like any skill or guided by the Spirits.

Spirits
Over the centuries there have been many spirits attributed to Traditional Witchcraft - almost can be seen as Gods, and then other spirits such as Faeries, Demons, etc. (Moving into the lines of Familiars, fetches etc.) due to the expansiveness of Traditional Witchcraft - I will be speaking specifically about two spirits and two groups of Spirits that have been found in Traditional Craft for centuries.
To be fair to the other traditions within Traditional Craft, not all of them follow the spirits listed below - some of them are completely secular, others are more involved with one or the other - remember 'There are thousands of Traditional Witchcraft practices out there, there is a different tradition every square mile'
• The Devil/The Old Goat - to be honest, this particular spirit is incredibly ambiguous - because according to the Courts/Inquisitors they saw the Devil where there was only a Wild Spirit, but according to some Traditions - this spirit is the Devil - the keeper of the Black Fire and Father to the Witches. I only use the title 'The Devil' because that title is one of the only ones that crosses across a lot of Traditions. Luciferian Witchcraft reveres him as the Devil himself - as Lucifer the fallen angel, the bringer of light and aspect of freedom.
He is what you could loosely say as the 'Male Aspect' and within some Gatherings or Covens, he is the King of the Faeries, Lord of the Wild Wood - the Initiator, the Seducer and the figurehead.
• The Queen of the Faeries/Lady of the Moon/Queen of Elphame - another spirit that is incredibly ambiguous, in some traditions she is the Consort to the Devil, in others, she is the real power behind the craft - in some, there is only her. She is can be called Titania from the play Midsummer Night's Dream as much as the Devil can be called Oberon. She also holds the fire of Witchcraft and is an initiator, the seducer etc. But in most traditions that I have read about, she is attributed as the True power behind the Devils throne in the Forest.
• The Faeries - also called Wild Spirits by some, within a lot of Traditional Crafting - particularly in the UK, they are the spirits of the land - the trouble makers but also the ones who can bring you great prosperity if you're kind but firm - they dance at the Queen's court.
• Demons - Within many Witch Trials, there is always talk of demons - Familiars to some can be seen as minor Demons wanting to aid someone to get what they want. But loosely this is just another ambiguous category of spirits within the Craft - the dance with the King and Queen at Court, the revel and do as they desire.
Of the four above, they are so ambiguous because they don't turn up in every Tradition or belief, in rural communities some people still believe in having to appease the Faeries and warding away Demons, etc. and can be called as part of the Fairy Faith.
Again, I would like to reinforce that these Four are ambiguous and specific to specific Traditions within Traditional Witchcraft - just because you may meet a Traditional Witch - it does not mean they will believe in or work with the Devil, The Faery Queen, Familiars, Demons, Faeries, etc.

Witchcraft, Wicca, and Christianity.
Now a lot of this I know to some will sound incredibly similar to Wicca - that is because Traditional Witchcraft and Wicca are in essence, siblings - to speak simply, Wicca was born from the already existing beliefs surrounding Witchcraft within the UK - founded by Gerald Gardner and eventually built to what it is known today - a lot of 'Traditional Witches' out there will claim Wicca as fake, 'not real Witchcraft' or 'washing away old practices' - to be frank, Wicca is part of the Traditional Witchcraft family in its own right because of its founders Heritage as a Witch, and where the practice was grown from.
However, Wicca is separate from Traditional Witchcraft because Wicca is a Religion, Witchcraft is not.
Where does Christianity fit into all of this? When Christianity spread through Europe it melded with the already existing beliefs within each Country/Region - for some people to escape persecution, they hid their beliefs within Christianity - and Christianity helped grow some of the already existing magical practices - a lot of Witches back centuries ago practiced a 'Dual Faith' they were both practicing the roots of their Ancestors - but at the same time believing in the Christian God and working their personal beliefs with the Christian beliefs. 'But the Christians killed the Witches!' to be more specific, it was the populace that used certain beliefs to kill off people they were having a disagreement with.

Traditions within Traditional Craft
Due to Traditional Witchcraft being such an umbrella term, there is a few terms that encompass a large variety of Traditions, I will explain each briefly.
• Culture-Based - based on cultures/beliefs i.e. Icelandic, Scottish, English, Stregharia (Italian), Brujeria etc.
• Practice-Based - Hedge Witchery, Charmer, Pellar, Wort Worker etc.
• Grimoire Based - practice based on various Grimoires such as the Sworn Book of Honorius, Ars Goetia, The Munich Handbook, The Devils Plantation, etc.
• Hereditary - passed down through generations - famous Witches that were known for this was the Device Family from Pendle Hill, Tasmin Blights family, and various others.
• Modern Traditional Witchcraft - Author based and personalities, people sharing similar ideas, practices, beliefs, etc.
At the end of the day, Traditional Witchcraft is an ambiguous umbrella term for thousands of varying but similar practices found mostly in Europe, anyone can be a Traditional Witch however it is not suited for everyone.


The first days in his new home were long and difficult for Timothy.  No one would tell him when he could go home and eventually; he stopped asking.  The house he lived in was very odd to him.  People would come into the shop and often comment on how old things were and say things like "can you believe people once used things like this?" and "How did people survive before modern conveniences?"  To Timothy things like a record player or toaster were wondrous.  Yet the only room that held any interest for him was the library in a small area in the back of the shop.  It was a cramped space with a chipped and stained tile floor.  It did have a couple of small windows that provided some daylight, but with a dozen old bookshelves, some wood, some metal, all mismatched, the room felt dark and always required the light of the bare bulb that hung from the center of the ceiling.  A single metal chair with worn vinyl padding took up a space between two shelving units in the back of the room.  That became his spot.  Books were the only things his new world seemed to have in common with the old, even though most people that came in the shop had very little interest in them.  
For the first six months, a tutor and a therapist would come to their home and work with Timothy to help him learn the language, evaluate his education level and help him adjust to his new life.  He never resisted their efforts, but it took him weeks to want to try and learn.  That day came on a Sunday afternoon when he was able to spend time in the library by himself.  He had just finished reading a book with his translator and started looking for another one.  He would hold the pad up over the spines of the books to read the titles to make his selection.  When he came to one that didn't translate, he pulled the pad away and to his surprise the words on the book spine were in his language.  As he pulled it off the shelf, he realized that some of the words were familiar and others were not.  He opened the book and tried the read it, but only some of the words looked right, and others were spelled differently than he remembered.  Switching the translator to audio mode, he took the book and found his aunt who was making lunch in the kitchen for them.
"Aunt Vickie?  What is this book?"  He asked holding it out to her.
"Well, let's see," she said, happy he was starting to warm up to her a little more.  She took the book, sat down at the small kitchen table and put on her reading glasses.  Timothy grinned as he never saw anyone wear glasses before and he thought they were silly.  "I know they make me look like an old lady, but I have to wait until I'm done with my cancer medication before I can get my eyes adjusted again.  So, this book.  I think it came in with that estate sale I bought up last year.  It looks like it's a collection of old Celtic poems and stories."
"What's Celtic?" Timothy asked.
"Well, it's a language that was once spoken by the ancestors of the Scottish and Irish peoples.  As a matter of a fact that is where our family came from originally.  O'Hara is an Irish name.  We have several ancestors that came from Ireland and some from Scotland.   
Timothy had been told that his father came from the "old world," but he never knew that his father's family came from the same place the old world village came from that he had learned about in school.  The idea excited him as it was a connection with where he came from.  "I want to read this," he said.
Vickie smiled and retrieved the school pad they were using to teach him English.  "You can use this to look up words, even these words.  It will show you the English version, and then you can use your translator to know what it is."  She typed the first word in the book into the pad, and the English translation came up.  She then wrote the word by hand on a digital notepad and had Timothy hold his translator over it.  Vickie knew she could have shown him how to reset his translator to do everything at once, but she wanted it to become an exercise in practicing his English.  
The boy didn't question the process.  He eagerly looked up each word, wrote it out and then translated it again.  In about 20 minutes he had the first poem completed, and his lip quivered.  Vickie looked over his shoulder and read the first passage.  "Little Bird!  O little bird!  I wonder at what thou doest, Thou singing merrily far from me, I in sadness all alone.  That's pretty, but a little dark."
The boy lunged at her and wrapped his arms around her waist, sobbing and shouting, "I want my Mother!  I want my Mother!"
Vickie put her arms around the boy and said, "I know Honey.  I wish she could be here with you, but you know she can't."  She knelt down and rubbed some of his tears off of his face.  "You know, my Dad used to tell me that people are never truly gone if we make a point to remember them.  And we remember people better when we talk about them.  Can you tell me something nice about your Mother?"
Timothy pointed to the book.
"Okay, what about the book, your Mother liked books?"
"She told me that poem," he said with his chin nearly on his chest.
"She told you this poem?"
He nodded.
Vickie remembered something about what Roy said to her about the people of New Terra.  He was recuperating aboard a hospital ship when he called her through a vid-link.  That was the last time she talked to her before he violated the quarantine and when back to the planet.  During their conversations, he tried to describe his experience to her.  He told her that the people of New Terra where descendants of Scottish people kidnapped by the Serkin for slave labor centuries ago, but she didn't think much about it at the time, as she was more concerned about his health than the details of the place he was trapped on.  Now she wished she had asked Roy more about that world before he had abandoned his life to return to it.  She sat back down at the table and turned the page of the book.  Gently she pulled Timothy onto her lap and used his computer to translate it for her.  She then read to Timothy, the translator changing her words to his language and they spent the afternoon exploring their shared history.

So has we've established so far I've said farewell John and I've returned home to find out my mother is a witch and im a witch myself.
My mom asks me to follow her to a different part of the house this room i didnt even no was there it was hidden behind a hidden door that was disguised as a full wall mirror, I've never seen my mother in the mirror before as I've had no reason to but standing by this mirror i saw my mother looking alot older with full head of grey hair and wearing different clothes than what she was actually wearing she was in a lovely black gown with bell cuffs and long flowing trail with grey and black lace detail she looked amazing.
So we enter through the mirror door into this what can only be described as a cave with candlesticks and lit candles dotted around the place they don't even look like they're burning down in the middle of the room is a big table with all kinds of things on there.
Looking at the table i see there's a goblet, a wand that looks like something out of harry potter,  a mini sword, an array of unlit candles, a big cauldron, and a deck of cards which i start to look at and question my mother " mom what are these here" with that she replied "they're tarot cards bill these will be part of your learning" i also see a big crystal ball on a stand made with ornamental skulls i hope so and not real human skulls.
As i look around the cave more and more i notice all different things 3 big bookcases full of books on witchcraft, spells, tarot, runes, crystals and brooms hanging on the walls and plants hanging "mom why are these plants dead and hanging with no soil ?" Iasked my mom 
"they're not plants Bill, They're herbs drying to use in my spells this one here is a special one this is sage which i need to make into a bundle today and ill then use it to cleanse the home and clear the negative" mom replied. "have you never noticed when you've come home how the house feels and smells different that it normally does ?" she asked me.
I replied "yes mom it does actually and is that what that does".
Looking around even further in the east side of the cave was a big leather bound A5 size book very nice looking with a pentagram on the front and decorated with sticks and moss and all things nature 
"Oh Bill becareful with that that book has been passed down from your grandmother and hers before that" mom said.
"And what is this book a heirloom or a nursery rhyme book" i replied.
"Oi Bill its not a joke that is the book of shadows where all spells and everything u need to no is in there all sections are for different things quick reference stuff the main stuff is in all these books you see around you".
"Sorry mom i wont make fun again, promise".
So i go on another explore of the cave thats the only way i can describe this room as theres no windows and the walls like they're decorated with rocks and moss and everything you'd find in a cave, there's even a little pond of water west side of the cave i only no the directions of these things as there's a compass engraved on the floor so im guessing this is correct.
"Mom when do we get into the stuff of doing spells and making magic" I asked
"You best get doing your first bit of learning heres a book please read it and study it and take this deck of cards and study those aswell".
"Ok mom but why have i got to read this book wicca by Scott Cunningham".
"Because Bill this book will tell you everything as a beginner into opening yourself up into the wiccan religion and being a witch" She replied.

We then leave the cave room the same way we came in and i look at my mom and smile widely i look back in the mirror at my mom and shes still wearing the same clothes and looks the same but without the mirror she has brown hair and is wearing normal casual clothes jeans, jumper and slippers so to me this is really spinning my head and confusing me but i didnt question it as the mirror image my mother is nearly an old lady.
So i head to my room and start reading the book as im really intrigued and what to no more about it but then i get distracted by the tarot cards ive been ask to learn and study so i pick a card and look at it this first card i pick is wheel of fortune at first glance i don't have any clue or anything but then something inside my head clicks and its telling me this is about someones fortune turning for the better i don't no if it's supposed to be upside down but im able to study it and hear in my head that they're fortune is going to get better and things will come out better than they have been.
It's getting late and I've got school tomorrow so I'm going have to stop studying the homework my mother has set for me and return to it tomorrow after school.

" Brother aren't you making it too hard for him?"
asked Maria, after Robin left the dining hall. 

" What are talking about Sis.? "
asked Peter back with a confused look. 

" You took about three months to finish those book. Now you are asking him to finish it in one month. Isn't it too much. "
said Maria. 

Hearing that Peter smiled and said, 

" What do you know? My master also gave me two month as deadline. And because of that I finished in three month. I have taught that kid how to read and write in NONAME. So I have to give him this deadline in order to develop him well. You won't understand it, because you don't have a disciple "

" Hehe...  Is that so?  I think I can get a disciple now. "
Said Maria while looking toward the library. 

Seeing that Peter said, 

" No Sis, you can't. As you know our Master has only me as disciple and I have only one Master, the same thing applies for him. We shouldn't break this custom that is going for about ten thousand years. That was what Master told me, when I said Iam gonna take in a disciple"

" Yaya... I know. Don't start."
grunted Maria. 

" And I gave him one month because I think he is more talented than me. When I taught him, how to read and write. He learned it all in less than six months. So I think he can finish ten thousand books in a month"
said Peter with pride of Master. 

Seeing that Maria grunted even more as she stood up and left the dining hall.

As for Robin, he has been reading the books with complete immersion in it. While thinking to himself, 

' I will finish this before one month. '

After about 15 days, Robin has only read about three thousand books. Seeing the Robin who was still reading the books with great interest, Maria who stood about 10 feet away from him said, 

" Wow...  He is faster than you. But still look at his daily routine, he eats he read he sleep he eats he read he sleep...  Doesn't he look like a puppet to you."

" Nope, he looks like a committed person to me."
said Peter who stood beside her. 

"Even though he has commitment, he can't finish seven thousand books in 15 days. " said Maria. She felt bad as Robin would be disappointed when the time comes. 

They having been standing there for about 10 minutes, but Robin didn't even look at them. He was totally into reading. 

This is not the first time. Every time they came to visit him in the last 15 days, it's the same. 

So both of them just left him be. 

But for Robin from the first day everytime he finishes reading a book, he felt like his reading skills are improving rapidly. So he continuously read, even when some books were repetitive. 

From the books Robin came to understand about the geographical location of the CELTIC. It isn't much different from what before Peter to him. But there was something different about the cultivation levels from what Peter has said. Peter just told him basic realms. But for every realm, they are further divided in to three levels- low level, mid level and high level. For example, Robin is now an 
Begginer Assassin-Low level. 
Then comes 
Begginer Assassin- mid level and 
Begginer Assassin- high level. 

Now he understands why it took seventy years for Peter to reach Grand Realm. But Robin doesn't know whether Peter is in Grand realm low level, mid level or high level.

But he knows the level difference from low level to high level is greater. 

And most important is longevity of life. A Begginer realm can live for hundred years. And it's gets doubled as your realm increases. 

' A Mystic realm can live for 3200 years'

Robin reading speed didn't increase after reading two thousand books that is on the tenth day. For five days, he read one thousand books. But as he finished total of three thousand books. He felt like a new skill is unlocked within him. 

After that, his reading skill entered a new realm. His reading skill increased into fast reading.

Robin finished reading five thousand books in ten days.

25th day

There was only one thousand and eight hundred books left now. Since he read 200 books on his first night here.

Looking at the remaining books in the rack, Robin thought, 

' five days for thousand and eight hundred books, Will be easy pie. Hehe'

The reason for his happiness is because of a deal between him and Maria. On the 15 day of his assignment, Maria came to library at night and met him. She said with a beautiful voice in his ears,

" If you can finish reading these books in 30 days, I will show you, my dress color. "

And Robin knew what dress color she meant. So that has become his motivation for completing the assignment. 

As Robin was thinking about these things with a lewd smile on his face, he heard Peter's voice, 

" Robin, we are going out for a work  and will come after five days. The spirits will look after your foods."

Hearing that Robin looked up and saw both Peter and Maria have dress in formals. Peter wore a formal suit. 

 Maria is not wearing her usual maid outfit. She is wearing a blue long gown, it's a sleeveless one. 
Looking at that Robin gulped. Seeing that, Maria said with a smiling face, 

" It looks like you are going to win the deal. "

But she thought to herself, 
' I will just erase his memories of the deal. '

Peter asked, 

" What deal? "

Robin said, flushed. 

" Nothing Master....  Have a safe trip. "

Seeing that, Peter just said, 

" Okay, you take care. "

After they left Robin grinned to himself, 

' At last I will walk the path of reaching my harem. Hehe...  Even though you are in Ascending-mystic realm, I will take you into my harem'

Hahaha.... 

Then Robin closed the door of the library and sat down. But he didn't read the books. Instead he wanted to do something that he has been waiting for 20 days or to say for 5 years. 

It was about the artifact, Angel gave him. After he entered this world, he tried lot of times to call for the LIMITLESS ARTIFACT  but it didn't respond to him. But after reading the books he came to an understanding before 20 days. That artifact only react upon magic. And after only reaching Begginer Realm a person can produce magic. So that was the reason why the artifact didn't respond to him before. 

As for the reason why he didn't try it out, after knowing about this is because of Peter and Maria. Those guys will definitely find him using the artifact, Angel gave him. And he can't explain to them how he got the artifact. So he waited to be alone and try it out. 

' Now is the right time '

Then he tried to reach out to the LIMITLESS ARTIFACT, as felt the connection to the artifact, a black light enveloped him..... Robin can't feel a thing.... 
 He blanked out..... 


As the black light in the library disappeared, Robin couldn't be seen anywhere......
