After Madeline left, Liz returned to diligently stirring the punch.
McKenzie saw this as an opportunity to approach Liz.
"Is Max on his own?", McKenzie asked as soon as Madeline was out of the earshot.
Liz turned to McKenzie slowly and looked at her questionably. "Why are you asking if my boyfriend is on his own? Do you want to invade his room in my absence? Who knows what you will do while he is sleeping?"
McKenzie swallowed hard. "Sleeping? He should not be sleeping."
Liz narrowed her eyes at McKenzie. "And why is that? He is not feeling well, and as a medical worker I advised him to rest."
McKenzie shook her head vigorously. "Can you check on him? And make sure that he is only sleeping?"
A woman approached them. "Excuse me, I would like to get some of the fruit punch. If you are not helping yourself, do you mind moving to the side?"
Liz saw that the woman is holding an empty glass. "Sure, let me help you." Liz poured punch for the woman; she was holding onto the ladle anyway.
Oliver and Lewis observed from the distance McKenzie talk to Liz and they didn't know what to do. Whatever they are talking about, knowing McKenzie, it can't be pleasant.
Oliver and Lewis agreed that if they go there, they will probably only attract more attention. Should they leave the party? That would be suspicious as well. Ah, the two of them felt like crying!
"What else could Max be doing other than sleeping?", Liz asked McKenzie when the woman stepped away. "I will check on him later."
"No later. Check on him now!", McKenzie hissed.
Liz tilted her head and blinked at McKenzie. "Miss Bolton, are you about to make a scene?" Liz leaned closer and spoke only for McKenzie to hear: "Are you really so concerned about Max? Or is it just a guilty conscience because he drank the drink which you prepared for me?"
McKenzie paled. "You know… You know that the drink was spiked…"
"Lower your voice, Miss Bolton, or someone other than me might hear you.", Liz said with a smug smile while gesturing toward the two kids who were picking soda from the big bucket with ice, a few steps away from them.
McKenzie looked at Liz in disbelief. "You knew… and you allowed him to drink it?"
Liz shrugged. "Why not? I didn't spike the drink. How is that related to me? Do I look like a superhero? Why would I fix a mistake you made?"
"He can die!", McKenzie's voice was louder than intended and she quickly glanced around to make sure no one heard her. Luckily, those two kids made their soda-picks and left.
"As I said, I didn't spike the drink and he is the one who suggested to swap it with his beer. How is any of that my fault?" Liz asked while shifting her purse from one hand to another.
McKenzie could not believe what she heard. Is it possible that Liz is not in love with Max? That is the only explanation of why she does not care. But even if she does not love him, she should show some compassion. Isn't she a doctor? How can she let him die? 
"This… What kind of a woman are you?", McKenzie stuttered.
Liz smiled provocatively. "I can return a similar question to you. The rumor is that you have a crush on Max since you were a toddler, to the point of infatuation. How is it possible that you love him, yet you got him to fall off a cliff?"
"I pushed you. Not him.", McKenzie blurted out and she regretted it a moment later. But she was even more shocked by the fact that Liz does not seem shaken up by this information. Is it possible that Liz knew?
'No, not possible.', McKenzie shook her head. She was right behind Liz, even if she felt the push, there is no way that Liz knows it was McKenzie. McKenzie remembered that Mia was suspicious. What if that was not just suspicion but Mia saw it? Or what if there is a recording? Today there are drones everywhere! McKenzie felt anxiety engulf her as her paranoia leveled up.
Liz bobbed her head. "Max got hurt because of something you did. Who cares if you pushed me or him? What will his parents say if they find out about it? What will your parents say if they get the information that you went to celebrate Hunter's birthday in Hawaii, and ended up attempting a murder?"
McKenzie shook her head frantically, and her hands were shaking. She was losing control over her body. "I never intended to hurt Max. I pushed you, and he is the one who jumped to save you. And even now, I put cocaine in your drink, and he drank it while you knew about it. If he dies, this will be on you."
Liz got her phone out of her purse and mumbled: "My conscience is clear. I wonder about yours…" Liz turned her phone for McKenzie to see and showed a photo of McKenzie who is putting cocaine in a strawberry mojito.
It was not clear if McKenzie's eyes or mouth are more open. "Delete that!"
Liz stifled a laugh and kept her phone back. "Do you really think that is the only copy?"
Liz put the purse under her armpit, turned to the bowl with the punch, and stirred it with the ladle. "You see, Miss Bolton… I have the evidence that you put drugs in my drink. Simple blood analysis will show that Max has cocaine in his system. Now you tell me: Who will be blamed if he dies? The current caring girlfriend or an infatuated wannabe girlfriend? Do you really think that anyone will believe you how I would hurt a guy who adores me? A guy who can make me Mrs. Anderson and give me things that most of the girls only dream about? And on top of all that, I have photo evidence that you are putting a suspicious substance into a drink. I wonder... who will be the prime suspect if guests start acting strangely, and later we find out that there is cocaine in the punch?"
McKenzie looked at Liz who is throwing one bomb at her after another while stirring the punch and a wild thought hit her. "You spiked the punch!"
Liz kept the ladle on the side, took her purse from under her armpit, and held it in her hand before turning to McKenzie. After a second of silence, Liz patted her purse and winked. "Who knows?"
McKenzie was about to jump on Liz, but Liz's words made her freeze: "Careful, Miss Bolton. Didn't you notice that almost everyone is looking at you? Do you want to add an assault to the list of your crimes that are related to the Anderson family? Because you see… I am considered almost like a member of their family. Everyone accepts me as Max's girlfriend, while you are just a guest. Look around. Pay attention. People are talking, suspecting that you will do something. I wonder, why?"
McKenzie stared at Liz who walked away, and she jolted when another woman approached the table and started pouring the punch in her glass.
McKenzie's mind was racing. She was flabbergasted by the knowledge that Liz knew about the cliff incident and about the drugging. And she let it happen. And she has a photo of McKenzie putting drugs in the drink! McKenzie was breathing heavily, and she balled her hands into fists.
Is it possible that people know? Even if Elizabeth lied, Grace said that people are whispering about the incident in Hawaii and even now are watching her. And Liz said something similar. McKenzie looked frantically around, and she could swear that people are turning their heads to avoid meeting her gaze. They are watching her!
"Are you OK, my dear?"
McKenzie stared at the woman who asked her that question and McKenzie's gaze fell on the glass filled with a fruit punch in the woman's hand.
Her mind was spinning. What will Andersons say when they find out? What will her parents say? And on top of everything McKenzie did herself, Liz is setting her up with spiking the punch? 
Liz is right, no one will believe McKenzie that she didn't do it, when there is already evidence and rumors that she did other despicable things!
McKenzie grabbed the glass of punch from the woman's hand and threw it on the ground.
"Hey…", the woman was in shock. Who behaves like that? Her shock increased several folds when McKenzie grabbed the bowl with the punch and flipped it, emptying its content on the grass behind the table.
"McKenzie, dear… What are you doing?", the woman called, but McKenzie was not listening. The only thing on her mind was to find others who are drinking punch and to stop them! There was at least one woman who helped herself while she and Liz were talking.
Soon, the attention of the nearby guests was drawn toward McKenzie who frantically moved between people and stared at their drinks manically. Whoever held onto a glass of punch (or any other pinkish liquid), McKenzie would grab the glass and throw it on the ground.
Guests gasped and screamed, and some cursed when McKenzie threw the drink on the ground and it ended up splashing and staining their clothes.
It took a while for Mrs. Bolton to recognize rampaging young woman as her daughter.
"Zi!", Mrs. Bolton called angrily while rushing after McKenzie. "What are you doing?"

Max was confused. "Aren't you appalled by my words? Offended? Why are you still here and not running to your place?"
Liz shrugged. "Last night you promised no lies. And I hope that you are comfortable enough with me to say what is on your mind. No matter if you are gay or not, the fact that I feel safe with you will not change. Unless you do something to prove me wrong."
Max was surprised by this logic. But then he remembered the deal they made: he will not lie, no games and he will treat her with respect… and she believes him.
"You want to know what is on my mind?" He decided to try his luck: "I want to kiss you."
Liz frowned for a second while thinking how to respond. Then she craned her neck and pointed at her cheek. "Here."
Max was not sure if he should laugh or cry. "That is not the kiss I was going for."
"That is the only one you will get. Take it or leave it."
Max is not silly to miss an opportunity. "I will take whatever you are willing to give me."

Abby went through the next year in a blur. She forced herself to keep studying because it was the only thing that kept her going. She stopped spending time with her friends and spent way too much time looking through old memories of her sister. 
Photo albums. Home videos. Katie's diaries and social media accounts. It was impossible to accept that she was truly gone even though Abby didn't get her daily random texts anymore. 
Graduation was especially hard. A few of her aunts and uncles had come out for the occasion but it wasn't the same. Her parents should have been there. Katie should have been there. 
Losing her parents had been horrible but at least she had Katie to hold her together. Who was supposed to hold her together now that she had lost her best friend? 
Abby got a well-paid graphic design job right off the bat and buried herself in her work. But when she wasn't able to do that, she decided to finally get to the list of things Katie had always bugged her about watching and reading that she never had time for. 
Comics. Novels. TV shows. She spent several months consuming all that media and frequenting stopping to sob as she wondered which parts her sister had wanted her to see the most. She only recommended things she was certain Abby would like. 
 Once that list was complete, Abby felt like she had lost her sister all over again. There was nothing left that Katie was telling her to do. 
That was how she ended up desperately checking her sister's old Goodreads account for every book she had ever bothered to post a review for, both good and bad. She found herself frequently agreeing with the reviews Katie had left behind. 
Even though not all of the books were her cup of tea, Abby felt a little closer to her sister again. She was a bit confused when she got to From Pastry Chef to Princess though. For the first time, she didn't agree with Katie's review. 
'If you're looking for a cute, cliché fantasy love story with 2-D characters and minimal world-building this is the book for you. (I literally only read it because someone left it behind at the doctor's office and I was stuck waiting for three hours)'
What about these characters was 2-D in her mind? Sure, Prince Alpheus had been pretty boring at first but Catherine du Pont was a riot. Watching him fall for her had actually been pretty fun even though she was frustratingly resistant to him. 
The book was in his point of view, which didn't make a lot of sense. It seemed more like Catherine, who preferred to be called Katie, was the main character. But the synopsis on the back of the novel had clearly indicated this book was about Marcy. 
Abby's heart ached as she read because this Katie reminded her so much of her own. Tears ran down her face as she laughed at some of the things this girl said and did. It was a fantasy novel but she didn't act like she belonged in it at all. 
She was surprised that things like pizza and doughnuts were included in the book, especially since none of the other characters seemed to know anything about them. There were a lot of inconsistencies like that. 
The book's Katie was a know-it-all bookworm with a weird sense of humor just like her sister. And she seemed oddly like one of those transmigrated characters in the comics from the list Katie gave her even though everyone else truly believed she was Catherine du Pont. 
Abby became more and more confused as the story went on. The only reason she hadn't stopped reading at all was because she felt oddly drawn to this character and what she was dealing with. 
More than halfway through the book, she read something so shocking that she dropped it slipped right through her fingers and onto the ground.  
"My name was Katrina Pullman but I had gone by Katie my entire life. I am not from Annalaias or any of the surrounding nations. I am from another world in a place called Arizona. Everything I ever said was from the country…was actually from my home.
"All of my knowledge came from things I learned back home. Jellyfish…politics…card games…hat looms….I want to be a librarian because that was my job before. I died in a carriage accident and somehow woke up in Catherine du Pont's body."
All of the odd things about Katie finally fit together in her husband's mind as she continued to speak but Abby felt like she might pass out after checking the next several pages multiple times to be sure she wasn't hallucinating. 
Was this some kind of sick joke? How would this author have even known that Katrina Pullman died in a car accident? Let alone that she had lived in Arizona and had a sister named Abby? 
There were too many specific details from Katie's life in this book. The author had to have known her but that didn't make sense either. Katie had been such a private person. She spent all of her free time alone or video chatting with her little sister when Abby wasn't swamped with homework or had other plans. 
She frantically flipped the book over to check who the author was. Janine Everett. Abby had never heard of her. She wanted to angrily demand how her sister had ended up inside this author's story—was there no respect for the dead anymore?—but she was compelled to finish it first to see if there were any more weird facts about Katie in there. 
Abby ended up rereading the entire book twice, skipping over unimportant parts that didn't specifically mention anything weird or different about Katie. She wrote down every single instance in a notebook, with page and paragraph numbers for reference. 
The next thing she did was track that author down. She had a website—apparently this wasn't the only book she had ever published—and on it was an email address for fans to contact her through. 
She sent a very strongly worded message demanding to know what was going on with this book. To her surprise, the author wanted to meet with her face to face so they set up a time to video chat.

Katie Pullman, a chronically ill girl who spends her life immersed in fiction, suddenly finds herself inside a novel she has read. Thrown right into the thick of things, she desperately tries to keep the plot intact but happy endings aren't always as they seem...

So as promised, here is the Christmas Q&A for System Programmer. Special thanks to everyone who asked a question. :)


Let's start with the questions aimed at me personally : 

Q: Can you tell us more about yourself? 

Sure. I'm a 33 year old Belgian. I guess I'm a lot of older of the average web novel writer, lol.  I've been working as a software developer for about a decade now. I used to write a lot back in high school but college & real-life work kinda got in the way and I only recently picked up this hobby again and System Programmer is the first novel I'm writing. 

Q: What were some of the inspirations for this novel?

So I'm sure most of you have read a system novel. The main character lives an ordinary life and suddenly gets a system out of nowhere, most of the time by dying and being reincarnated. Have you never wondered? Who the hell is making those systems? Is there like a company in heaven distributing them to heroes? Someone should write a book about that! Wait a minute…

Q: What's your favorite color?

Blue


Q: What made you come up with the idea of having the MC, Joshua, being a summoned soul instead of having him reincarnate and being able to summon a soul?

To continue on the previous question: my first idea was that Catherine would be the world's chosen heroine and she would be granted a system by the heavens to complete her task. However, the system was still a beta version and would be buggy as hell. So the heavens would send her a recently deceased programmer in order to debug the system. In this early draft, Joshua was stuck inside Catherine's head that would look like some sort of sci-fi command center, trying to figure stuff out. 

I ended up alternating it for several reasons:

Having Joshua being the creator of the system makes the whole world much more personal for him. While it would have been funny to have him press random buttons to see what it does and accidentally turn Catherine's skin blue or some other dumb stuff would have been amusing, it would also have gotten old quickly. Besides, if Joshua had wasted like 10 chapters figuring out how to use the system to program a 'Hello World!' command, the plot would be moving at a snail's pace.  In the current version, Joshua knows how the system works since he made it and is slowly adding functionalities to it. Luna is his life's work, Joshua considers it his magnum opus.  

As for why have him being summoned & not vice-versa, I always saw Joshua more as a tactician than a fighter, while Catherine has been training for more than a decade now. Being inside Catherine's head allows him on developing stuff, which he loves, while Catherine does most of the day to day business. 


Q: Where do you stop on power levels? Is there a chance main characters could have powers rivaling of God in the future?

I do not intend to go past the 10 ranks I've introduced, as for how powerful they will be then, we'll see. 

Q: What are some of your favorite books, in print or online?

Hmm, let's see. I'm a big fan of fantasy novels (Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, A Song of Fire and Ice, currently reading the Kingkiller Chronicles)
I also like good mystery novel like Agatha Christie. 
I do love Lovecraftian horror, even though I've read some Lovecraft and I find his style very hard to read.
As for Joshua, I would say his favorite novel is probably 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea'. 

Q: Why hasn't Joshua done …. (insert OP thing here) yet? / Will Joshua ever do ….?

This is a grouping of several questions.  So, I think you all understand I'm not going to reveal future plot points in this Q&A. I'm not going to ruin my own story. :D

However, I'll address the issue: Please consider that since the start of the novel, less than 2 months have passed. In that regard, we can say Joshua has accomplished a LOT. If any real programmer could do 1% of what Joshua did in 2 months he would probably be a billionaire. :D 

Also, please consider I'm already spending a lot of time about Joshua developing the system. I could increase the number of experiments, but then the plot would barely advance, so I keep alternating between Joshua making new stuff and their adventures. 

I hope this clarifies it for everyone, although there is one thing in particular...

Q: WHERE IS THE FREAKING RAILGUN???????????

So, I know a LOT of people have commented about Joshua developing a railgun. He may do it eventually. But keep in mind, at his core, Joshua is a programmer. What's interesting him right now is runes and he's not really interested in guns. The way he developed those combat drones matches his personality a lot more than a firearm. 

Q: There's one thing that everyone wants to know, and that is: 
Will Joshua and Catherine end up together? Or will Catherine end up with someone else, and our man Joshua will end up forever alone?

Oh boy, what did I say about no future spoilers, lol. Let me say this: I consider the relationship between Joshua & Catherine one of the most important parts of the novel. Now, as you all have noticed, the link between the two is pretty unusual. I dare say, Joshua does love Catherine. He said so himself a few times. Although, he doesn't consider it romantic love and he's very happy with his current situation. I do believe if there is ever a change in that, it will most likely come from Catherine & not him. 


Joshua: I don't see why everyone is so confused, how many men can claim to be inside their soulmate 24/7? Most don't even last 5 minutes.
*Catherine appears and smashes Joshua with a sledgehammer.*



Q: What is your personal view on whether or not catnip is good for catgirls?

I wasn't expecting this one, lol. If it makes your catgirl happy, go for it!



Q: This might sound like something straight from Joshua, but could two different Lunas communicate with each other and if they can, is the original world already under Luna's control?

Haha. This isn't Terminator. Joshua designed Luna to always protect its user, and Luna isn't a sentient being. Of course, Joshua died before the final version went in mass-production so who knows what the people who take over the project will do. :D


Q: Is the underground similar to the Dragon Age Deep Roads?

The main inspiration for the underworld is the Underdark found in D&D. I'm fairly certain the Deep Roads are also based on the Underdark. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, imagine gigantic caverns below ground spreading for kilometers without end, with bizarre civilizations living in some areas. (mostly evil bastards)

Q:  Are there different cultivation systems in other/current world's we know the summoner path are there other types?

Probably, if you take other worlds into account I guess each one has their specialty. They're most likely not be relevant to the plot though. 

Q: Can animals use the summoner system and if not why?

Animals don't know how to cultivate as far as we know so nope. 

Q: Will Joshua ever think to build a weapon platform in orbit of the planet and fire a metal rod at high speed to kill that Crow if they meet again?

*Hearing this Joshua's eyes started to shine*

Joshua: PLEASE PUT THIS IN THE STORY!!!!!
Me: No.
Joshua: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! Catherine, he's being mean to me!

Q: Will Joshua create a mecha for Catherine?

Joshua: PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: No. 
Joshua: YOU'RE THE WORST WRITER EVER!

Q: To extrapolate on energy, I feel that Joshua with technology and Catherine on nature, the two are absolutely capable of growing off of each other. So should the concept of terraforming, genetics, and other forms of nature enrichment be introduced? (perhaps something like zoological domes and terrariums in Joshua's side, which could be breeding biodiversity to be released? As Catherine's world gets bigger, so does the amount of different biomes she can have. (Variations on forest or plains at first? jungle could get poison and the like? Magical biomes n stuff?)

So this is a very interesting question, but going into details would be very spoilerific. I do intend to have Catherine & Joshua grow together in some way like Joshua's been doing with his dams. We'll see how they evolve. :D


Q: What are the gods in this story's world? Every author that dabble with the divine have different interpretations of what gods are, so what's yours would be?


Interesting. So far, the only characters that are supposed to be Gods so far are Leonard and the Crow. We have no idea what Leonard can do for now. As for the Crow, while he's obviously very powerful. He's clearly not as omnipotent he pretends to be. The simple fact that Joshua managed to escape from him indicates that. What the limit of their abilities is, that is something we'll find later on though, so please be patient.

Q: For how long will this novel go on?

No one actually asked this, but I figure I'll add it myself. I have a general draft of the whole plot and I know how I want the story to end. I think it will come down to 4 or 5 volumes in total. I hope to finish the story by the end of next year, but no promises. :D 

Q: (For Webnovel only) Have you consider going premium? 

So I got contacted by the Webnovel staff about 2 months ago and they asked me if I was interested in becoming a contracted author. I did turn the offer down. The main reason is I do work full-time as a software developer. Webnovel mostly encourages the authors to release at least a chapter per day and once you're contracted you have to write X number of words every month. With my current job, this is an impossible rhythm for me and I like to write at my own pace.

I am working towards a release on Amazon Kindle, however. I hired someone to edit volume 1 and I have an artist friend who is making me a nice cover. :D The novel will remain free to read on both Webnovel and Royal Road though, don't worry. The Kindle release will be there for people who want to support this little writing project. We'll see how it goes, but for now, I'm aiming for a release around the end of January. 


Q: Will you write other novels after this one?

Again no one asked this but whatever. :D 

I'd like to! I got ideas for 5 other novels in my head actually. Of course, writing a novel is a big project, so I'll see how this one does once on Kindle.

Catherine: Unfortunately with my current level, I can't create such a large phenomenon. We'll see once I grow stronger.

Q: Can you split water into its components to breath underwater?

Catherine: Yes. 


Q: What is your favorite Dress?

Catherine: I like the blue dress that I'm wearing in the upcoming cover! Look forward to it!

Q: Do you ever feel guilty about having summoned another human being, Joshua, and binding his soul - and therefore his life - to your own without his consent? (I don't recall Joshua getting a choice in it at all.) I'm asking since none of the other summoners we have met have had a human. Humanoid, sure, as seen with the Angel, but they don't relate as well as a normal human would, no?

Catherine: Honestly, I had my doubts initially, but Joshua looks very happy now, so I don't think I should feel guilty. 
Joshua: Living inside your head is the second best thing that ever happened to me! The best one is discovering the existence of French Fries!

Q: What does Catherine think of her family?

Catherine: We haven't seen them much, but I'm very close to them. I hope I get the chance to hang out more with them later in the story!

So I can answer the first part myself: We like to drink while playing card games! Of course, now we're on a mission so we don't really have time to party. As for talking to other people, he was never a talkative one anyway so he doesn't really mind. Besides, I'm here should the need arise!

Q: If you were stuck in an island, and could only bring one thing with him, what would he bring?

Q:  When you tried making a laser sword did you try to create cold plasma and keep it in a stable rotational bladelike form by utilizing magnetic fields or how was your approach on it?

Joshua: Honestly I just tried to make a Star Wars weapon. That obviously failed since they're not real, which is why I altered the design until I got something that worked. 

Q: Can you make a Jojo reference?

Joshua: Yare Yare Daze *poses*

Q; Joshua, if you can create things in your soul world through imagination, can you theoretically create incredible computer/generators with zero resistance using superconductors? 

Joshua: Even for imaginary objects, there has to be some logic behind them. If I try to make an object that's literally impossible to make, it won't work. Imagine if Catherine asked me to create a sword that could cut through anything. The only way I could make this is if I had knowledge of every material in the universe and had a method on how to cut them then combine them into a single weapon. It's just impossible. 

Q: Do you think you can after leveling up more create a Virtual World (like Matrix) in your Soul World?

Joshua: Only if I get to cosplay as Neo. 

Q:  Does T-Rex taste like chicken? I mean it is its ancestor.

Joshua: It does actually, I recommend it with mayonnaise.

Joshua: More seriously, I believe it's different for everyone else. People often say all human lives are equal and all life is precious. I disagree. I believe life by itself has little meaning, it's how people live their lives that give it value. I also think the life of a single human is not that important, you have to take humanity as a whole. If you dedicate your life to a cause that's productive to mankind and allow it progress further, then yes, your life a lot of value. If, on the contrary, you're a scumbag who murders people in their sleep for fun, then your contribution to the global effort is negative, and you're better off dead. Bottom line is, everyone must find their own answer. I already stated mine in the story, I want to see mankind evolve and see where progress takes it. I don't know what the endpoint will be for me, as a continue to evolve Luna, but the simple prospect is wonderful.

After Catherine had calmed down they went back to the encampment to do the highly tactical move of attacking it straight on with the only plan being Catherine casting spells and Janna taking care of stragglers. Before forcing the shabby looking gate down forcefully Janna begun her battle symphony creating strong winds making the gate fly and lots of panicked goblins, although astonished Catherine didn't slack unlike the author and begun casting spells that would explode to create for panic but she had been told to avoid attacking the huts. Janna highly restricted her winds to be only closely around her and to be rather weak, only inflicting small cuts to leave some goblins alive for Catherine to kill and for herself to cut down with her spear, she wanted to practice using it after all. Although the battle was not as tough as in the village Janna still sustained some cuts but nothing was immediately lethal it would be if the battle would drag out for too long. Catherine was astonished at Janna's fighting but she had no wish to be slacking but as the battle went on, her steady breathing slowly turned into panting telling her that a long battle would lead to mental exhaustion and after that, death. Janna was truly thankful for what Jimbo had taught her the other day, she was able to keep some of the pesky goblins far away with the tip of the spear with either slashing or stabbing at them but as Jimbo had taught her, if they get close you will be hurt. Luckily her opponents were not expert swordsmen but small halfling like creatures that would breed and kill like rats so if they got close she could avoid most attacks making her look like she was dancing while singing a beautifully deadly song. Time passed and the piles of goblin bodies littered the ground, either they had been cut down or burnt to death leaving a disgusting smell of blood and burnt bodies lingering in the air, making Catherine want to throw up but Janna quickly informed her that the mission was not yet over and the worst part is not over. Janna went and held Catherine's hand to walk with her towards the undamaged yet shabby huts, before they walked in Janna handed Catherine a knife in preparation for letting her free the captive women from their bindings, saving those that could be saves or if Catherine was unlucky, killing babies. Luckily for Catherine it was captive women leaving Catherine sad seeing some dead, pregnant or dying women in bindings, without hesitation she used her knife to free them in a hurry while Janna started tending to her wound silently. When everyone had been freed the pair went to the next hit but this time, it was a hit with newborn but seeing the captive women before Catherine killed them with hesitation, but she nonetheless killed them. They visited all hut one after the other making Catherine feel sick but all she could do was hold out until they were done killing babies and saving women, sounds horrible in a way but these babies grow fast and like to spread their seeds in every women they see. Janna informed the women that there is a village nearby and they were highly advised follow them back to it to keep monsters from finding a good meal, they didn't bother burning or counting the bodies since for monsters the smell lingering is like grilled meat. So the now big group of women hastily walked away but in a slow pace since many had problems walking and the mood was still down from all experiences they have had until now, although happy they couldn't stop thinking about the feeling of getting continuously raped and fed just enough to be alive. Many also witnessed women die during childbirth due to the short pregnancy time of goblin babies and those scenes were never particularly friendly to watch since shortly after the dead woman would very often get eaten afterwards by a goblin.

After an hour or so of walking the group reached the nearby village and all the villagers happily took in the women, Janna and Catherine decided to stay and leave early in the morning after checking so the women gets fair treatment and all did especially by the women. Janna and Catherine didn't particularly be in the way so they only requested a bed after paying the villager for it, the bed was small and not at all what Catherine was used too but Janna saw no problems and after checking for perverts she unclothed and lied down in the bed with Catherine hesitating a little but no more than 5 seconds she also unclothed and joined Janna in the bed. Since the bed was small the two touched bodies and Janna could hear the calm breathing from Catherine, sadly she also smelled like death but she nonetheless was happy hearing and feeling Catherine and unconsciously wrapped her arms around her, Catherine was not surprised at all and wrapped hers around Janna and due to her being a little shorter her face between 2 very soft places, feeling her warm body. Although both smelly neither cared about it and both fell asleep hugging shortly after. 

A few hours later the sun started to rise and Janna woke up first with Catherine still with her face in her breasts so she tried to do what Catherine did on her before and use them as lethal weapons but Catherine just woke up instead, but she didn't move her face and looked quite comfortable so all Janna could do was say "it is my time next time" and forcibly got up making Catherine sad saying it felt better than her bed at home sleeping here. Sighing Janna forced her up as well and got herself clothed together with her, both soon left leaving the village behind. While on the road Janna sang making them float like usual making their travels faster and more comfortable. Catherine was started to get getting used to floating, started to move around a little to test the waters, or winds in this case. After a short while Janna felt something grab her and Catherine forcibly dragged herself over making the pairs winds get interlinked messing it up making them fall to the ground painfully but without injuries luckily. Janna slightly confused of Catherine's actions asked what she just tried to achieve and Catherine answered with a red face "I wanted to hug you" forcing Janna to look away from her because she didn't want her to see her red cheeks. After that incident they quietly continued their journey with small talk of nothing important. But out of this unimportant small talk Catherine gave Janna the idea of using a carpet to float on... so she could hug Janna all the time. Janna agreed to it saying it would be nice and it would make their travels even more comfortable and when she gets more control over her winds maybe they could do even more comfortable things high up in the sky where no one can see them. This left Catherine stop breathing for a Second but quietly saying "get better quickly" after a while. 

Before noon the pair got back home before noon, to instantly go to the adventurers guild to report back of their successful mission, the reward was quite good but it no longer particularly mattered for them what the reward was, so they directly went to the mission board to pick up another mission of the same nature and since goblins are everywhere there was no lack of them so they took the closest one and left to go home and have a nice long bath together. When walking in the noble districts any horse carriage going past them felt the horrible stench of goblin blood and the only reason no one forced them away was the mage clothing and the a few even recognized Catherine so they could do nothing about the smell but let them walk past with it. When they got home they were greeted as usual by a nearby servant and he told them to take a bath quickly before meeting Ivan and Janet and they wholeheartedly agreed to what they were told to do. The two stinking girls made their way to the bathroom... or bathhouse more precisely, but unclothed and Catherine looked at Janna's bandaged body and said "we need a knight so you wont eat hurt, I can't stand seeing you hurt."

Humanity fell in a great calamity and while the calamity unfolded a young and frail adventurer from centuries after calamity found fortune in her miss fortune.

This is all I can write since I got no clue what I’ll write.
This is my first story and it is pretty much purely so I can improve writing overall so it is a bit shit at the start but I try to test around.

Standing over a freshly dug grave Alicia gave a moment of silence to the young girl that she had killed. Alicia had promised to come back and give the girl a proper funeral and now she had kept the promise, though a few days late. "Alicia we should go..." Ro's voice came from the side.
Alicia nodded her head and whispered "Sorry..." before turning around and walking with the rest of her companions towards the battlefield. All nine of them drew their swords and rushed into the backline. They had altered their uniforms so that they no longer looked like ones from the Empire. This was done to make sure that the Dorian side did not attack them. 
With a sudden attack from the backline the Empire soldiers were completely thrown into disarray. The Dorian soldiers seeing their enemies being cut down from the back had their moral rise as they began to attack even more fiercely. Alicia endured the pain in her body as she continued to cut down as many Empire soldiers as she could. Because of the chaos made by her and the rest, the battle quickly turned in the Dorian Kingdom's favor. After being stuck at a stalemate for the past few months the tides of war had finally changed. The Empire soldiers were not getting any orders from their squad leaders so they continued to fight not realizing that their own side was dropping like flies. 
Soon the number of Empire soldiers standing was dwindled to a few hundred and rounded up. Alicia called for her companions to follow after her as she struggled to stay standing. When She made it to the base camp for the Dorian Kingdom she was surprised to see a man sitting in a chair at the camp with a crown on his head. She knew this man was supposed to be her father, King Dorian. When King Dorian saw his daughter struggling to walk into the tent he instantly stood to his feet in surprise. "It was you?"
Alicia looked at King Dorian, who had tears in his eyes. She ignored his question and said: "Royal Father, sister is dead…. I killed her for treason… The enemy commanders were killed and the enemy camp was set ablaze. The nine squad leaders are also dead and from the looks of it the rest of the Empire soldiers are now surrounded. Your daughter has been through much…" 
As Alicia finished her words the world around her became dark once again. The blood that dripped from her open wounds was too much for her body to take. Seeing Alicia collapsing The king hurried forward and caught his daughter. Alicia only heard him yell out for someone to call a doctor. The world went from black to white and then to color again as Alicia opened her eyes to see the training grounds for the third time this day. 
Her head was spinning after such a tough battle inside the Illusion World. She felt her body go weak and was about to fall only to find someone grabbing her shoulders and supporting her. She looked up to see Blake's handsome face looking worriedly down at hers. She gave a faint smile as she closed her eyes to rest. She felt safe in the hands that held her so gently. 
Another figure also appeared from the Illusion World, except her face was filled with anger as she looked over at King Augustus. This figure belonged to Princess Catherine, she lifted the hem of her skirt and angrily marched over towards King Augustus who just now looked over to see the scene of his second daughter coming towards him.
"Hmmm? This seems to be a familiar trend… Ouch! Damn that hurts!" Princess Catherine who reached King Augustus lifted her leg and swiftly kicked King Augustus in the shin with all her might. Once again King Augustus was now hopping around on one foot. 
"Royal Father what the hell are you making my little sister go through! Do you even know what she just had to deal with!?" Princess Catherine shouted.
"Catherine! I know! But it is for her own good. There are some things you will not understand. The path she chose is one filled with these types of scenarios! Trust me when I say I am getting her ready for what will eventually come..." King Augustus did not wish to cause Alicia any grief. But with the Devils planning something in the background, war could break out at any time with them. At that time many people will take advantage of this to start committing all kinds of atrocities that they would never commit during peaceful times. Once the watchful eyes of justice weaken, evil will slowly creep in and run rampant. This was something that he, himself had seen before.
Princess Catherine was not happy with this answer. She wanted to refute his words but she couldn't think of anything to say. There was only one thing she could do. "Fine then I want to become a knight as well! I may not be as good as my little sister but I can at least try to share some of the burdens she will face later on!"
King Augustus looked at the serious expression on his second daughter's face and let out a sigh. "Fine… I will give you the same training I gave your sister. If you are able to suffer through this training just like your sister did then I will not stop you from becoming a knight! Your training will start a week after the test!"

Malam ini, bulan sabit muncul jauh nun di atas langit. Cahaya peraknya bersinar meliputi dunia. Dunia seolah-olah diselimuti kain kasa.
Di atas gunung sunyi di luar Pusat Wilayah Basil, Linley dan McKenzie beriringan berjalan dengan Bebe yang duduk di atas bahu Linley. Mereka yang lain tidak hadir sekali.
Saksi kepada pertempuran ini adalah Bebe.
Gunung kecil itu sangat sunyi dan mempunyai kurang penduduk. Selain daripada beberapa pokok yang tumbuh jarang-jarang, puncak gunung itu kosong dan lapang. Linley dan McKenzie berdiri bahu ke bahu di puncak gunung itu. Angin gunung di situ menderu suram, menyebabkan pakaian mereka berkersik.

Linley dan McKenzie serentak bertukar menjadi sepasang pelangi sebaik sahaja mereka terbang ke udara di atas gunung kecil. Mereka berdiri di tengah udara, kira-kira 100 meter dari tanah.
McKenzie melambai tangannya dan sebilah lembing lazuardi muncul dalam tangannya. "Untuk menempa lembing ini, saya telah membelanjakan 20 juta syiling emas untuk membeli semua jenis biji timah yang berharga. Setelah sempurna, saya namakannya 'Api Lazuardi'."
Linley memetik jarinya dan pedang fleksibel Darahviolet muncul dalam tangannya.
"Saya mendapat pedang ini daripada lokasi berbahaya di Banjaran Gunung Makhluk Ajaib. Namanya 'Darahviolet'."
Linley telah mencapai peringkat keempat, iaitu 'Mendalami Angin' dalam kebolehan menggunakan Darahviolet. Walau bagaimanapun, Linley hanya mencapai peringkat pertama, peringkat mudah 'Mendalami Angin' yang dia namakan sebagai 'Riak-riak Angin'.
Meskipun begitu, apabila bergabung dengan bahan unik Darahviolet, Linley masih berasa yakin dengan kebolehannya menangani McKenzie.
'Berada pada tahap Dewa membuatkan aku berasa seolah-olah dipenuhi dengan kuasa tanpa batasan.' Dengan Pedang Dewa Darahviolet terhunus di tangannya, Linley berasa sangat yakin. Darahviolet sangat tajam dan jika seseorang tidak menggunakan qi-tempur, berdasarkan ketajamannya sahaja, ia dapat menembusi pertahanan kebanyakan makhluk ajaib tahap tujuh. Berapa banyak senjata yang mungkin dapat bersaing dengan ketajamannya yang menakutkan ini?
Apabila ia digabungkan dengan qi-tempur tahap Dewa, ketajaman dan kuasanya akan mencapai tahap yang sangat menakjubkan.
"Jika begitu, mari kita mulakan."
Tubuh McKenzie terpancar keinginan tanpa batasan untuk bertarung. Berdiri di udara dengan angin meniup jubah panjangnya, tubuh McKenzie tiba-tiba mula diliputi dengan lapisan api bergemerisik dan lembing Api Lazuardi di tangannya juga memancarkan api.
Seluruh tubuhnya kelihatan seperti diliputi api.
Berperisaikan api sambil memegang lembingnya, McKenzie kelihatan seperti dewa tempur.
'Qi-tempurnya sudah mencapai tahap sebegitu.' Mata Linley bercahaya.

Pero esa espada flexible Bloodviolet se curvó muy ágilmente hacia atrás, bloqueando la lanza. Como la espada flexible rebotó en la lanza, Linley de inmediato salió volando hacia atrás, moviéndose más lejos de McKenzie.

Era simplemente demasiado rápido. Tan rápido que McKenzie no era capaz de bloquear todas ellas, y su única opción fue despertar su qi de batalla para defenderse.
Incontables puntas de espada traspasaron contra su capa protectora de qi de batalla, cada golpe contenía una cantidad asombrosa de fuerza. Con un sonido de estallido repentino, esa capa de qi de batalla se rompió en pedazos, la fuerza de la misma causó que la tierra retumbase, creando diez cañones terroríficamente profundos en el suelo. El polvo voló por todas partes.

En otras palabras, esas innumerables sombras de lanzas podrían ser lanzas reales. Si ese fuese el caso, hubiese sido muy difícil para él bloquearlas. Pero justo en ese momento, había roto con facilidad todas las sombras de lanzas.
—Jaja, si todas ellos fuesen reales, entonces yo sería un experto en la fase pico del nivel Santo —McKenzie rio—. Mi actual Mundo de Llamas sólo puede llegar a ese nivel.
—¿Cómo es que tu técnica de Viento Ondulante puede ser tan rápida? Fue aún más aterradora que la que estabas utilizando cuando comenzamos —preguntó perplejo.
Linley explicó: —Cuando empezamos a pelear, sólo estaba tomando prestada la fuerza imponente del viento. En cuanto a la técnica de Viento Ondulante, eso es parte de los conocimientos que obtuve con respecto a las Profundas Verdades del Viento. La espada puede llegar a ser una con el viento, y donde el viento está, la espada puede aparecer.
La técnica Viento Ondulante era realmente rápida. Aterradoramente rápida.
Linley sólo fue capaz de desarrollar esa técnica aterradora gracias a las propiedades únicas de la espada Bloodviolet. Usando Bloodviolet con esa técnica, no sería difícil para Linley producir más de diez millones de ataques de espada en un abrir y cerrar de ojos.
