 After returning, Clark went back straight to his room. His 2 friends, were already there to welcome and congratulate him. 

 “Clark, you are so fierce. Damn, that was intense,” Henry exclaimed exaggeratedly as soon as he met Clark. 

 “I can’t believe you abandoned your weapons to finish the battle with your fists, that’s tyrannical”. Henry kept on heaping praise on him. He finally smiled a little, which earned a burst of laughter from Emily. 

 “Hahaha, you only know when to smile when praises are heaped on you right?” She asked in a slight accusing tone. 

 “…,” Clark was left speechless. “Can’t you allow me to enjoy my glory for once,” he complained inwardly. He could only cough a little to hide his awkwardness, as black lines already covered his face.

 For the rest of the day, talks of how the stranded dragon demolished the trickster kept being circulated. Clark didn’t know of all these, nor did he pay attention. As he already returned to his strict schedule of train, bath, eat and train again. 

 Due to his diligence, Emily and Henry were also affected. As they felt the urge to train and maybe improve also, if possible. “Show me your friends, I will tell you who you are,” this parable was being proven here. 

 For the past months after Clark witnessed the hermit’s self-created technique, he tried hard to create his own also, as he already started knowing the significance of it. After about 2 months of trying, he discovered that self-created techniques are not something that can be created on demand or on a whim. 

 He needed a source of enlightenment, that was his conclusion. As he was sure that The Hermit created his technique, through some unique circumstances. “Despite this obstacle, I’ll try my best to create at least one technique,” he promised myself. 

 All the 3rd battle fixtures were finally concluded, the 4th round battles quickly started as the gladiator tournament continued. His and his friend’s 4th battle was without suspense, as they killed their opponents without suffering too many injuries. They made a little celebration, for making it to the last round of the gladiator battles. 

 After so long, he still could not create a technique as assurance for his battle against The Emperor. No matter how fast he won his battles, he was not ignorant nor arrogant enough to view The Emperor like the other gladiators. 

 This guy’s strength was the real deal. Forget about how he had a draw against Jian Wushaung, the man probably studied him thoroughly, and found a way to counter him. 

 During their little celebration, Emily suggested that they should project a movie that each of them liked in their tender years, for all of them to enjoy. She first suggested her best movie, which they watched together. 

 Henry followed after, suggesting his best movie also. When it finally came to his turn, he was suddenly at a loss for what to suggest. 

 He knew a lot of movies that he liked, but a best movie? That, he didn’t really know. As he saw the atmosphere becoming awkward, he just decided to suggest an animate cartoon that was adapted from one of his best novels, “The King’s Avatar”. After suggesting it, he suddenly started smiling as he felt like he made a good choice. 

 The first episode quickly started playing through his projection, as they all became engrossed in the cartoon. His whole mind was focused on the projection, as he didn’t want to miss a single detail. He had a habit of getting really annoyed, if he missed a single detail when watching a movie, even if it’s trash. 

 Henry ohhed and ahhed frequently, when a character in the cartoon performs a high-level skill. Emily was far calmer and more reserved, despite also being engrossed in the cartoon. 

 Woah!! He exclaimed again, as Ye Xiu’s Lord Grim comboed his opponent to death, the cartoon was just too attention grabbing. Their attention was fully on the projection, the high-quality projection also did a good job in improving their spectating experience. 

 Lord Grim was battling another opponent in the team competition, as his umbrella suddenly transformed into a shield blocking his opponent’s view. Boom!! He suddenly dodged to the side, as his teammate Soft Mist, controlled by Tang Rou arrived tyrannically with a dragon breaks the ranks skill. 

 As Clark saw the spear advancing forward unstoppably, he increased his concentration as he didn’t want to lose such an awesome moment. The magic waves emitting from the spear, was what added the cherry on top, as he immediately entered a unique state of mind. 

 His implant started working on overdrive, as he repeatedly simulated this action in his mind again, again and again. He became completely lost in his imagination, forgetting about the passage of time. 

 After an unknown amount of time, the episode was finally concluded. Emily and Henry, were gradually drawn out of their deeply engrossed state. 

 “Man, this cartoon is completely insane. I’m downloading it now on my implant, this is simply a masterpiece”. Henry blurted out excitedly, as he turned to face his friend. 

 “Clark…, CLARK,” he called with a yell the second time, as the expression on his friend’s face sent chills down his spine. 

 Emily finally turned to face Clark with an irritated expression due to the yell, she was also stunned completely on seeing him. 

 Clark didn’t hear Henry’s yell, as he was completely in his own world. A grin was on his face, while his eyes were closed. His current look was just like that of a mad man. 

 Well, if you call him a mad man now, he’ll just thank you with a smile. Because he just laid the most important foundation, to creating his self-created technique. 

 “CLARK!!” Henry yelled again, as he was finally startled awake this time. He slowly opened his eyes, the first thing that greeted his sight was his 2 friend’s faces, looking at him like he was mad. 

 He immediately understood, as he grinned on seeing this. He felt kind of funny, as this situation felt like a parable in the bible. He doesn’t read it much, but he still knew some famous lines from going to church when he was younger. 

 “They have eyes, but they cannot see. They have ears, but they cannot understand. They have brains, but they cannot comprehend” It was so on point. They watched the same cartoon, but he was the only one to comprehend deeply. 

 He finally explained what just happened to him, as Henry was almost pulling his hair out from waiting. 

 They were surprised, before jumping in heartfelt joy for him. Envy threatened to sprout, but they quickly suppressed it as their friend comprehended this, through his own ability. He was really happy, as he fully expressed his joy with them, by getting drunk. 

 “The King’s Avatar”, the novel was among his 2 best novels. But this was his first time, creating time to watch the animate cartoon. He just thanked his God, for deciding to watch it. 

 … 

 The next day, they woke up feeling fresh and excited. Emily and Henry made sure to leave, giving Clark a silent atmosphere to further study his new technique. 

 They were worried for him because of his next battle, against The Emperor. So, they were sincerely happy to know that he was creating a possible trump card now. They even felt kind of proud, as it was through their suggestion, that their friend get inspiration. 

 To be sincere, he was more worried about them. This critical stage, there was no weak candidates again. 

 Emily’s next opponent was of fairly the same strength as she was. But this is a competition, anything could happen. He was more worried about Henry, as according to past battle statistics, his opponent was stronger than he was. 

 After a week of learning and perfecting it, his self-created technique was finally kind of ready. He could not execute it physically yet, but he could do it through simulations in his implant. He still needed more practice, to perform it physically. 

 Now, the dilemma of a name finally came, as he thought of a name to give his new technique. 

 “The Dragon’s roar,” he suddenly had a thought. “Hmmm…, this is good, but people will think that it is an attack to restrain and control, not to directly attack”. 

 “What of Stranded Dragon’s blow. Shit, this is even more ridiculous than the first”. He could only blush in shame, at his lack of naming experience. 

 “Forget it, I guess I’ll just go with the name that Butterfly blue gave it”. He finally decided to settle for the original. 

 “Dragon breaks the ranks. Yeah…, this is it. The name alone can instigate terror in my opponents”. 

 “Well, I can always decide to adapt medieval Chinese culture by shouting out my moves before attacking. Maybe it will seem more intimidating so. This random thought is a decision for later, the best thing is that I’m ready. I’m ready to face the Emperor”. 

 Another decision he had to make, was his main weapon to use during battles. Dragon breaks the ranks, is a skill created for spear users. He didn’t want to desecrate it. “I guess I’ll change my main from a sword, to a spear,” he muttered. 

 This was not too hard. In his military training years, he was taught on how to use every weapon. He’ll just have to resume training, to master using a spear.

 Bam!! Bam!! Poof!! Another boxing target burst, scattering into pieces as a sweat filled figure left for another boxing target. The Emperor was also training hard for this fight, against the Stranded Dragon. 

 After his draw with Jian Wushaung, he didn’t dare underestimate any of his opponents again. He was not afraid though, as he was absolutely confident that he could not be defeated. 

 This much training was just a precaution to guarantee his win. Unlike Clark, he is among the lunatics who came here willingly in complete trust of their strength to get the price. 

 Outside here, he is a mercenary who fight, kill, and protect if hired, as a source of income. He is an external member of one of the big 5, the Mercenary alliance. 

 The Mercenary alliance is the only organization, that it’s rules and restrictions are looser among the big 5. They accept outsiders who proved their strength, as external members who work for them as mercenaries and are paid. He doesn’t focus completely on being a mercenary alone, as he looks for unconventional means of income like this. 

 What is fueling his desire to look for money by any means, is his sister. When he was younger, a young man from Oakland once came to his town on a tour, with his entourage of soldiers. Unfortunately, his sister caught the man’s eye, so he took her with him without even blinking. 

 This is just a small example of the tyranny of the big 5. His sister was his only family member still alive, after his parent’s death, so he vowed to get her back. 

 This was what fueled his choice to train and become a mercenary. As the Mercenary alliance promised him that, they could get his sister back if he got enough money and mercenary contribution points. 

 The 5th round battles finally began after a whole month of preparation. The whole fleet was hyped up, as this is the final battles to decide the strongest 5 that survives.

The originally black tree turned snow-white in an instant. Everyone was shocked and retreated warily.
However, other than turning snow-white, the tree did not undergo any other changes, nor was there any danger.
After a while, the white tree gradually turned black again, as if nothing had happened.

The blood-colored avatar stood in front of it, but apart from the black tree, there was nothing around it. Zhou Wen was momentarily at a loss as to what the instance dungeon was for.
He summoned the Silver-Winged Flying Ant and let it fly towards the black tree. He then attacked the black tree with Magical Needle which stabbed into it but failed to penetrate it. He wasn't able to damage the black tree at all either.
The tree didn't react and remained standing quietly in the darkness.
Zhou Wen hesitated for a moment before deciding to let the blood-colored avatar personally touch the tree to see if there would be any abnormal changes.
However, Zhou Wen found it strange that after the blood-colored avatar touched it, the color of the black tree did not change. It was still black, completely the same as before.
Strange, why didn't the color change? Zhou Wen remembered that in Death City, the black tree had undergone a change in color when people touched it. Nothing like what had happened to him was experienced in game.
Is it me or is it a problem with the game? Zhou Wen was momentarily unsure of what the tree was for, nor did he understand the use of the instance dungeon. All he could do was ignore it for the time being. After quitting the game, he logged into other dungeons to hunt monsters.
Now, Zhou Wen only grinded two types of monsters. One was mutated Legendary monsters since only they could drop stats crystals above 18 points which were of use to him.
Another was Epic creatures that could drop stats crystals that exceeded 20 points. They were similarly useful to Zhou Wen.
However, Epic creatures were too powerful. He was no match for the few Epic creatures Zhou Wen encountered in-game, so all he could do was search for the mutated Legendary creatures.

In a room at the An family's residence in Luoyang, An Tianzuo had recently returned home.
"Tianzuo, has the situation around Luoyang been very bad recently?" Ouyang Lan asked worriedly.

'So... I can't be killed but they can turn me into a frail old man and lock me up inside a prison but I can always rise up again because my Mana Core is tied to my immortal body and soul, such a loophole!!' Loki thought and snickers. 

Upon nodding at his avatar, he entered the illusion realm. 

"Ahh... Home sweet home! Now, now my friends we can end this once and for all! I have infinite mana basically I can be called infinity magic core reactor!" Loki yelled as he glowed with green light and black cloaking covers him. 

Like a saiyan, he put both his hand on his stomach charging it while yelling for an hour as he endures injury and bruise as his cloak armor absorb damages.

"HAAAA!!"  A beam of massive destruction filled the whole realm annihilating all enemies on sight.

He didn't stop his massive wave for days even after seeing it reach 96% only to see that no illusion spawn anymore and the whole realm become green in color. 

"So I cleared it? That easy? I already open the ultra instinct! Didn't I need to use it for the final battle?" Loki said with disappointment but it suddenly replaces by amazement as he sees rainbow bridge rivaling the Bifröst dividing into three stairs toward three new worlds.

"So it's the next stage?" 

The purple fog that covers one of the borders becomes a terrifying shadowland that light doesn't come and dare to come. He occasionally heard child whispers and screeching nails after staring at it for a while. 

He then lands his gaze on a rainbow land were all there is random. Disfigured body and cartoon looking bodies. Is this Walt Disney?

Lastly, a crimson world that creamy droplets of rain-filled that place that even creeps him from afar. 

"Let's just focus on creating spells." 

Loki sits down on a chair be created. 

Harnessing his Mana he makes it float around the place, if he is right then mana is an omnipresent thing, when he can't harness mana he also can't see mana on Asgard but in Vanaheim it's present and bountiful, he can feel it from everything even on a rock but it also has a thing that is different than mana not like other energy it's purer than light energy from the dimension of it. It binds that matter with the magic creating a very complex sequence that created every matter he can observe. 

Controlling his mana, he divided it into hydrogen and oxygen with hydrogen more than later. Make it slowly and smoothly combine water slowly become its product, the final part of it that is making it permanent. He got a bottle and put the water inside it but upon releasing his control it loses its form. 

"Sigh..." 

He again did it but in the last part, he added water energy making it more pure but it only lasts for a few minutes before disappearing. 

He did it again with divine energy only to last up to an hour. He gives up after knowing he won't have great achievement from it. 

"What if I create a new magic system?" Loki whispers before smiling widely then broke into laughter. 

"Mana, with emotion and chant. Divinity, with intent and will. Lastly Dimensional Energy, with magic sequence and programs." 

Loki sits on Lotus form as he focuses more on his mana, after controlling a small amount of his mana he created his magic circle, a tetragram appear in a red form about 5 inches wide. 

Tapping on his divine energy a green haze came out and he will it to cover the magic circle then boom! It explodes pushing him more than 100 meters away. 

"Cough! Cough! Shit! That punch is very solid, Oh God... It almost made my chest collapse," Loki said while lying recovering from its explosion. 

"What did I do wrong?" he jolted up and ask himself. 

He then sits again and created a tetragram. Then he calls out the illusion energy to it then pooofff... 

He tilts his head from confusion. 

"When did explosion become a fartion?" he scratched his head and tried again only to be tortured by the randomness of his creation. 

He stopped and reach into his ring to eat and it happens for a long time unknown to him only to wake up from his trace like research after receiving a massive explosion that blows his hands away. 

"This is hard... Very hard, sigh... How long been I doing that?" he said and look at the realm timer he created and it says.

"So basically I'm in trace... So thankful that time here is independent of outside," he looks into his avatar according to it he has only been inside for 1 month. 

He stopped and got out after dispersing his avatar.

It was like my body was naturally drawn to it. But, as soon as I found the source of that light, I realized that the light source was a person. My eyes attempted to adjust to the light, but they couldn't. It was impossible.

"That's only natural," the light said suddenly. I heard the sound of a snap, and I saw a somewhat human shaped light.

"What are you?" I asked baffled

"The matters of who I am do not concern you. What concerns you is the fact that I.." it paused "Is that I made a mistake, the plan was to let you live another five years but, that wasn't fulfilled. We can't just save your life because that will only cause more problems. So, in return, I have decided to allow you a second chance. In any world of your choice." The Deity finished sensing a question

"What about my family?" I asked

"The plan for your family is still the same. Now, what world would you like to go to?" the Deity said

"Fallout?" I said randomly

"I can fulfill that request but, I personally don't think you should do that." The Deity said with a sigh

"Avatar."

"I personally believe that movie is overrated." The Deity said with another sigh

"No, the cartoon."

"The Legend of Korra or Avatar: The Last Airbender?" The Deity asked not very familiar with this series.

"The Last Airbender. Also, can I make two more requests?" I asked, hopefully.

"Possibly, it matters the request."

"I want to be able to bloodbend like Amon, so I don't need the full moon to bloodbend," I said confidently.

"I may be able to fulfill that. What of your second request?"

"To bloodbend, I need to be a water bender. Did you never watch the show?" I said, somewhat amused.

"No, I only know the basics. I am quite busy, after all. You forget your position." The Deity said I swear that if he had a mouth, he would be smirking right now. Wait, is it a he or she? Do gods have a gender? Wait, does that mean God is white? Also, is he God? Wait, is it a he? Is God a woman? I have no problem with God being a woman it's just? Weird. Wait, is that sexist.

"I don't have a gender. I am not white in your terms I am just a light, and you can consider me a 'god'" The Deity said. Did he just read my mind? Wait, who was right? What religion was right?
"Yes, I just read your mind. I will not say what religion was correct about my origins? I will see what I can do about your requests. Now." he paused or was it a she. I really don't get this. "Begone!" the Deity suddenly screamed with the sound a snap.

Suddenly I fell into a pit of darkness.

What happens when a normal guy is reborn in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender

At the office of Bai Muchuan.
When Xiang Wan entered the office, his laptop was on; his eyebrows furrowed in thought as he read her analysis.
Xiang Wan tilted her head. "I'm here."
Bai Muchuan waved at her when he saw her waiting at the door.
"Come over here!"
He sounded businesslike.
Mm, that's good.
Xiang Wan actually felt relieved, and she sat before him.
"What do you think about my analysis?"
"Very good." Bai Muchuan nodded.
"In what way is it good?" Xiang Wan's eyes lit up and looked at him without batting an eyelid.
"Well…" Bai Muchuan propped his forehead and saw her little expression that was waiting for his praise. "You're very naughty."
"…"
"You're naughtier than any of the profilers out there!"
Uh! Xiang Wan pouted. "But you think it's good?"
Bai Muchuan raised his eyebrows. "Simple and easy to understand!"
She did the profiling report with a lot of effort.

Bai Muchuan's silence made Xiang Wan frown with uneasiness.
"Hey, tell me how you feel about this? I feel so nervous when you stay silent."
"…" Bai Muchuan pursed his lips slightly while he looked at her.
Xiang Wan felt that he had declared her report "dead".
She shook him a little. "Hey, Bai Muchuan?"
Bai Muchuan looked at her sternly when he suddenly grunted a laugh and pinched her nose.

Translator Review:
This is a novel encompassed with mystery, ethics, family ties, and romance. Of course, the highlights of this book are the murder cases. 
Although it’s a modern setup where none of the characters have a system or any other cheats, the Author managed to delight me with her writing, creative plots and a good pace without dragging her story. 
I marvel at the way the Author links up the clues and plot to explain the individual cases as well as paving the way to unravel the huge conspiracy behind the individual murders. Romantic plots are light-hearted so readers could take a breather from the plots of gruesome murders.
